Cuando Me Enamoro #146 Monday 11/14/11 A Candlelit Love Scene Makes A Hot Club Sandwich with Little Disasters Everywhere Served Up Like So Many Slices of Bread

At the center, Inez has a fit that Constanza is so besotted with this baby. They are supposed to give aid and support to the mothers that come to the center, not take over their responsibilities. But, it’s only for the night that I agreed to keep her, croons C over the baby whose mother has disappeared.

Padre Severino’s house is full, Jero has just carried in Marina to bring her home when Antonio knocks comes in and Jero introduces them. Jero glosses over some problems introducing Antonio as a great friend of Regina’s and Marina is explained as the niece and preggers so staying in her uncles’ house she is having twins. Jero is relieved this holy man will be in the house HE leaves quickly.

Regina and Renata talk on phone and that Regina and Gonzolo are going to have a civil ceremony and will they come. Of course they wouldn’t miss it, says Renata. And how are you doing asks Regina. Last weekend was total chaos, but doesn’t want to take Regina’s time. Regina has all the time in the world for hearing Renata’s problems. They are so that super mother and daughter zone again.

Augie Skypes’ with Roberta that he needs to nail Ezek (really he is trying to be a thorough hacienda owner. She remembers with a sly smile that sexy evening after the fiesta when she so easily seduced a reluctant Ezeke. Augie presses, he doesn’t care what she did, but he needs to know whether he can trust his foreman and he further asks her to present a story to Renata that she was forced into action by Zeke against her will, but was afraid to tell anyone. Renata won’t believe any of it, insists Roberta. Augie pushes that she will if Roberta is convincing enough. He needs to make Renata doubt Ezek’s trustworthiness. She calls him perverse, and grins that she will do it just to show him how much she want to cooperate with him. They grin their wicked grins so well don’t they.

Zeke and Alfonsina dine with anvils on the ceiling that they can’t see. Alfonsina is having another moment of guilt that she betrayed him and will never feel good about her bad wicked deeds. He allows that he is not the saint that she thinks and in the past he did some things that if she knew about his saintly image would fall and break on the floor into pieces. She looks worried about what this might mean. We know at least two stories he is considering. The anvils teeter gently back and forth.

Lazaro and Kari hug and talk about how scared she was. She tells him that she told Alvaro (refer to NOK’s incredible list for your own favorite aliases) that she wanted to be with Lazaro not him. He says, my love you were so brave. He is so proud. She says tomorrow I am going to file for divorce. She only wants to be with hem and he only wants to be with her. They hug tenderly avoiding their bruises and scratches.

Consta comes home with the baby and tells the maid to set up the baby’s things for the night. Hon comes in already wary of the presence of this bundle of not joy. Why is this thing here with you he demands. He is as irritated as I am at the crying. He doesn’t want to lose sleep or work so hard at his age he only would for grandchildren. She says it is only for the night and besides the screaming bundle is hungry; I need to fix her something to eat.

Jero and Renata meet in the living room to catch up on their news and she tells him that Regina called. Gonzo is better and there is to be a civil wedding ceremony which they agree to attend. They cuddle on the couch in a light moment. After all she is his spoiled pet. They dissolve into kisses on the neck and more giggling. Sigh, finally a sweet zone.

Back at the Padre’s house, Marina tells Antonio that Jero is more than just a friend, he is the father of her babies. Antonio visibly jerks. Yes it happened when Jero was separated from Renata and maybe Antonio is shocked enough that he wants her to stay elsewhere? Antonio recovers quickly. He was only surprised, not being judgmental. He assures her that he feels for the difficulty and discomfort of her situation and he understands a lot more than she may think.

Manuela drives in her own little knife. As she finishes serving them a delicious looking dinner she pauses to add she wants to tell them something about Dr. Marina. She wants to be able to care for Marina and feed her well so the twins will be healthy. She only wants to make food for her. Renata retracts visibly then asks, are you going to leave us? No way, protests Manuela, but the twins need to be born in the best health possible. Jero thinks it is a marvy idea. Renata says coldly that she thinks that if the babies need then of course it is the right thing to do. She starts to tell Jero how hard this is for her when worse news come with the maid who brings a note from the police station. Jero is being investigated for his role in the faked death of Alvaro Nesme (drop in NOK alias here). Now he is the one really worried about Augie who seems to be trying to file charges against him.

Jero says he doesn’t know what this will mean. Penal and the prison doctor both involved him and even though voluntarily he did what they wanted. She consoles him, it wasn’t your fault. You need to explain what happened to them. He says, don’t worry. But, Renata lovingly assures him, I am always going to worry about things that concern you. She thinks they sould relax from their complicated day. They will finish their supper and then have baths and they will meet in the bedroom.

Manuela talks with Kari in the kitchen and says she is going to cook for Marina and her other problem is that her granddaughter is still coming any day. She doesn‘t know where she will stay. Kari says she and Lazaro will marry very soon and there will be plenty of room for Manuela’s granddaughter and she is sure that Jero and Renata will be glad to help her out and welcome the young girl.

Renata comes out of the bath and asks what is this to the candles, wine and amorous looking Jero. Well he flirts, we married people and a proven formula is that with wine and kisses and much affection… They begin to kiss and sip wine. She says she was ready to throw in the towel with this Marina and babies business. He holds her on his lap as she tells him that she frequently needs to pray for peace and patience. He says I bet last night was one of those when we nearly threw in the towel and she says well… He offers her a grape and one thing leads to another toward a sensuous love scene behind the candles. Whew. Enjoy the scenery while I catch up with the typing.

A parallel bedroom scene has Constanza giving all her affection and love to this screaming infant and Honorio is less than romantic. She can only see the baby; he has disappeared. Where is she going to sleep? Asks the irritated Hon. In the middle of our bed, of course, so she doesn‘t fall. We have no crib for her. He is aghast, no she can’t be in our bed. She is little and we might roll over on her and crush her. So she says she will go to Matias’ room and he says no I will go there. She doesn’t care as he stomps out. She is talking in baby swoon googoos and says she will care for her and the writers make that baby wail poor old Honorio right out of the room.

Matias and Adriana talk with Chema’s dad to tell him that they cannot continue the farce. She cannot accept the ring while setting him up to think he is marrying her. They have their real life to lead. But Chema’s dad says don’t desert me now. Adri says the real thing Chema needs now are the tests to follow his progress with the illness. Chema’s dad says you aren’t parents yet but a parent wants only to protect their child. Please help me prolong his happiness as long as we can. Doesn’t look like Chema has a prayer of hearing the truth.

Alone in his apartment, Chema toys with the diamond ring he has purchased for Adriana while remembering that first hot kiss they shared. He looks happy for the moment.

Carlos and Matilde are ready to see the house that his Mama has prepared. She lets them in like Nate Berkus doing a reveal and they are thrilled that she actually used their taste to decorate. Carlos thanks his mom and tells her that he really loves her (inspite of all the meddling) and Matilde comes back from another room declaring she likes ALL of it. Mom says let me know about the wedding so I can round up the brothers (with the plural hermanos, there could be a sister in there too) She will be back to help them (ustedes) because now I have a new daughter. That would be me, beams Matilde. Mom has come a long way.

Manuela makes her first food drop and Marina seems in a good mood. Antonio is there telling Manuela in front of Marina that he wants to go to the La Bonita to see Renata with her. Marina promises to stay quietly in bed. Think there are too many smiles? So do I.

Ezeke finds the black soft bag in the back of Augie’s car while he is cleaning it and it is full of perfume tape and a black mask, he remembers something Augie said about his next plan. Why would the boss have these things, this isn’t good, thinks Ezeke. You should run far away now and not look back, thinks CherylNewMex…

Next morning Jero and Renata are at the police station. The officer is questioning Jero, so why did you agree to pretend Nesme wasn’t dead? Jero shrugs. The officer want to hear the story and Jero tells him about the theft of the wine vine branch and Nesme‘s role with Augie. In order to solve this case we need all the information we can get. Was anyone else at all involved in this situation? Jero hesitates and then gives up Ezekial‘s name.

Ezeke brings in the incriminating bag of Augie’s tricks and says I found this bag full of perfume, tape and other abduction toys. Augie screams like a mean older brother, don’t touch my stuff! Ezeke’s quick response was that it didn’t seem like something that would belong to Augie so he opened it unaware of the contents. He then beats a hasty retreat, if you don’t need anything else. Augie mutters that Ezek is more of a thorn all the time. Is he numbering Ezekials’s days as an employee or as a live employee?

Jero and Renata finish up with the officer and he will be in touch and he will continue with the investigation. After they leave and console each other in the hall leaving arm in arm, the officer tells the secretary to call the Cruz hacienda right away to tell them he needs to question Ezequiel Fierro now.

Julieta shows up at Chema’s who is eating with his Dad. She has brought the publicity and menu proofs. He is so excited about the work she did and Dad chimes in that he will help get them printed. They talk about foods and desserts to be served. Chema says this is absolutely all he needs to have all his dreams come true.

Roberta and Regina are at the only bank in Mexico City filling out the paper work to get Roberta (aka Regina Junior) the inheritance from her father’s estate. She urges impatiently, how soon will I get this? The male bank manager with our friendly bank manager woman says it will not take much time but at least two weeks. We have to prove her identity. Regina assures them that she has the DNA proof that they are mother and daughter. The manager has Roberta sign and then casually has her drop her finger prints on a page saying this is all the signing they will need. Roberta happily chats that she wonders if she will have to change her name, she is so used to Roberta that Regina will seem strange to her. They are so happy this is going well.

Our white gowned girls are at it again. They discuss when the next favors will be granted by the director. Fina tells Blanca with many sneers that Constanza will fall hook, line and sinker for this Trojan baby they paid to be dropped into her life. Blanca questions, will she really fall for it? Fina smiles, I know her. There is no question that it will work. And then she mimes holding a baby. When Blanca tries to touch and coo at said baby, as Fina says and Regina is next. She feigns jealousy in front of the guard.

Gonzolo shows up at work with Matias at his side As he steps out of the elevatorthe whole staff is standing near reception to applaud seeing the boss back. They are ready for the day to start. On the ground floor Hernan steps into the elevator for his first day and a tardy Roberta runs with her hot coffee into the elevator and dashes the well clad Hernan with the entire cup of hot coffee. She looks up at Hernan with her engaging smile. Is it love at first spite? Errrr I mean first sight?

Stay tuned: Roberta’s gaffe isn’t the only collision, looks like Marina is going to go into second trimester whines to get Jero’s attention and Renata and Antonio are skidding in her car toward a collision with a motorbike. Okay, it's over to you LILA. I hope you all turn out tomorrow night to welcome Lila to her first recap night. The first of many we hope.

Emilia, Thanks for your comment last night. This wasn't such a funny night but I hope it will spur a lot of conversation. there are so many turning points in this episode.

Ay ay ay amiga, thank you for posting so quickly. I couldn't wait to read your take on tonight's antics. As usual your title is pure magic. I do like how your mind works.

"The anvils teeter gently back and forth." Such a poetic description of the ominous future. The words are beautiful but they give me a chill. In fact, this was an entire night of getting the chills.

Manuela's logic for helping Marina seems flawed to me, as does her assumption that Jero and Renata will welcome her disturbed granddaughter. Oh dear, it appears as if I've forgotten to wear my beanie. Do forgive me. I hope at the very least the Manuela will be around to supervise Luz and not always running over to Marina's.

Wowsers, I love the romance scene between Nata and Jero and I really love their gigantic wine glasses. I've got to get me some of those fishbowls.

Ha, did y'all catch Hons's single raised eyebrow? I think Cons is not picking up on his signals. I would have been out of that room even faster than old Hons, heh.

Poor Adri, I was afraid she'd get herself wrapped up in this web of lies that lives forever. At least Matias is participating...for now.

Who knew that Matilde would turn out to be the bestest daughter-in-law ever? I hope MamaM appreciates her.

What? Fina arranged to have the squalling baby dropped in Coni's life? Why? She's so evil but I'm not sure exactly how in this case. Whatever, Fina and Blanca are awesome in their evil-ness. They are great together as we knew they would be.

Oh Roberta, you didn't disappoint us a bit with your clumsy coffee spill.

Thanks Cheryl. We do appreciate your thorough and thoughtful recaps. As you said, so many turning points (and set-ups) in this episode.

Ah Sylvia, Thanks for posting tonight. I can go off to bed tired but laughing. Yes, aren't the fishbowl wine glasses just too appealing. The actors do pause and enjy the great wines they are touting, except Augie who does all that angry drinking alone and oh yes, our booze hound doctor Nesme swigs from the flask or swills and slurps from a bottle.

Manuela is coming out of the kitchen with some real dooziies for problems isn't she. She knd of knws she is really bugging poor Renata with this obsession for nuturing Marina. She could get one of her friends to do it. And who knws what to expect with the granddaughter doesn't she have anorexic issues. A cook's nightmare.

Fina and Blanca are the most fun of all these days although Roberta's delicious grins are making me really laugh too. Augie is not fun however and I do fear for poor Ezequiel and Constanza has taken another stupid pill..

Great title Cheryl.Strange and surprising plot twists.

Who knew the Plain White T's had conspired to plant the baby. My beanie almost exploded trying to figure out how they did that while in the big house, but whatever.

Poor little baby...does beg the question, who's is it really? And I wish they wouldn't do the crying baby in scenes. I notice that more in TN's than US shows. My heart just sinks when I hear that and want to grab those little ones.

Loved!!!!!! the scenes with Jero and Nata. But we always seem to get those right before a mini-anvil.

Zeke should have taken that bag straight to La Bonita not to the boss. He's really getting hung out to dry on all fronts. I mean Zeke wasn't the only one that knew about Dr. N...but of course, he's the one that Jero names. Beanie is vibrating again. And Roberta now piling it on...I'm nauseous.

I'm just thoroughly annoyed by the whole Chema storyline. And boy, I wish that we could fast forward however many months so the Marina in bed woes would end. And to boot we now have Padre-to-be Antonio in the mix.
I had a really stupid thought last night---did they ever identify who/where Antonio's wife and daughter were/went. Didn't he have a past family? They've never talked much about Marina's folks except for her Tio, so could she be Antonio's long-lost daughter? Or did I miss some plot on that somewhere?

I'm making my own head hurt - off to work and add to the pain. Have a good day all.

Cheryl- Thanks so much for such a richly detailed recap. This was for sure a set-up episode and the writers lined up a LOT of anvils. Zeke looks like he has the biggest anvil of all waiting for him. Even Berta is in on the plan for his downfall. Consta and the crying baby (daisynjay, it was DocDirector who set it up in exchange for the money Fina gave him). The Chema situation getting more complicated. And Berta and German's meet-cute. You know that can't be good.

I think Jero brought up Zeke because he has direct knowledge of Augie attempting to steal the vine shoot. Anything the people at La Bonita would say would be hearsay. Only Zeke has had direct contact with this situation and has gotten orders directly from Augie to steall the vine shoot too.

How many of those "I miss Zeke" shirts are we having made up?

I'm glad we got some loving moments between Nata and Jero. They both seem to get that marriage takes work, communication, and some dashes of romance every now and then. Good for them!

I will be very annoyed if Marina is crying and whining to someone else about this siutation again. What I have liked about Nata is that she has kept discussion about this situation between her and Jero. Notice how she clammed up when Herminia walked in the room after she got upset about Manuela's plan to care for Marina. Has she even told Adri about what's going on? The only reason she has spoken to Gina about it is because Jero told her first and Gina asked Nata about it directly. Otherwise, I don't think Nata would have discussed the baby situation with anyone except for Jero (and Marina in very limited words). It isn't anyone else's biz, but Marina has been spreading the news to the four winds since day one-- the nurse at the clinic, Kari, Alfie, Padre, the nurse at the hospital, Augie (when she told him to stay out of her biz), Manuela, Matilde, and now Antonio. You would think with all this talk and crying about it and letting it all out, she would be a bit more at peace by now. Maybe it's the hormones?

Cheryl: This was marvelous. I thought "...Little Disasters Everywhere Served Up Like So Many Slices of Bread" was great.

"Renata retracts visibly", "Nate Berkus doing a reveal" had me laughing out loud but "love at first spite" was my favorite.

Thank you for your-ever present attention to detail and superb writing.

Sylvia, thank you for noting you were also surprised that Fina arranged for the not-so-quiet bundle of joy for Coni. I can't for the life of me figure where this is going unless she knows it will drive a wedge between Con and Hon (?) Ack.

Daisy, I sensed some connection between Antonio and Marina but couldn't fathom why. Your idea that she may be his daughter is very interesting. I also thought there was an instant rapport between Nata and Regina so it all makes sense.

I'm borrowing your beanie Sylvia. I'm hoping the writers are keeping Chema alive (and front and center) to have him fall in love with Julieta and have a miraculous recovery. I hope this isn't just prolonging the ineitable with a long, agonizing death scene.

I don't think Zeke ever really forgave Alfonsina. And, I'm afraid he may never get the chance to...

Diana

*gulp* uh, thank you Cheryl! Yikes, look like I might have a doozy of an episode! Thank you for this thorough recap. My univision channel has been randomly and abruptly inserting commercials right in mid word and I end up missing hughe hunks of the action. We missed the whole Gonzo back to work, coffee in the elevator thing! Talk about teetering anvils: how easily Jero signed Zeke's death warrant. . .and then he didn't even tell him! And I did not see Blanca and Fina behind the howling little bundle of "not joy"! What could be about to jump out of this "trojan baby"?

Lila

Daisy, wow, your idea about Marina/Antonio is very interesting. What if?..and who is mama? Could it be? Nah...

Diana by all means enjoy my magic beanie. I, too, would prefer that Chema turn his eye to Julieta's charms. She seems willing but his needle seems stuck on Adri. (Anyone out there get that LP metaphor or is that way too ancient?)

Heh, my word verification is slormbr, too close to slumber which is what I should be doing instead instead of peeking at the comments.

I'm going out on a limb here and will order one "Save Zek" t-shirt. I hope it arrives before it becomes obsolete. Come on Zeke, save yourself!

Vivi, nice rant about Marina. Now that you mention it she sure cannot seem to shut the heck up about her situation. Ya basta mama!

"Love at first spite"; brilliant!

I'm also getting weary of Marina and I don't see how all these stories are going to get resolved before Christmas.

Hee, "trojan baby", good one Lila. Could the plot be as simple as annoying Hons? Maybe Fina is hoping that Coni will hopelessly bond with the baby and then they will rip said child out of Coni's arms causing her endless grief. Or is it something even more diabolical?

Hard to figure, ain't it? But "trojan baby" is Cheryl's gem. Hope I can come up with some!

Lila

Gah, thanks Lila. I blame it on my insomniac state. Full props to Cheryl for the trojan baby. You definitely come up with your fair share of zingers.

Cheryl, great recap, thanks.

Would someone please give Con a puppy! Blanca is probably going to claim that the baby belongs to her and Hon is the baby daddy. Con better get rid of that hot potato, pronto.

Dr. Tatas, please go away. Enough already.

Yes, the anvils are teetering, so Dr. Carlos better start the presses for the "I miss Zeke" t-shirts.

What is behind Devil Mama's being nice to Mati? Surely, she has some evil plan.

Manuela's logic is definitely flawed. Everytime someone opens their mouth about the twins it is just another twist of the knife. Can't they see the pain on Nata face?

Rosemary

Muy buenas días amigas y amigos, ITA all the rants of how annoying all these little disasters are. The baby cry drives me up the wall since they seem to ignore it for whole scenes. I sincerelyhope that is a tape loop and not a real wee one in misery.

Yes Ezequiel should be trying to cross the Rio Grande right now headed to Audrey, Dr. Carlos or me. We could organize sanctuary for him. DaisyinJay, I am intrigued by the spector of the missing family that might show up at Antonio's admission ceremony into the priesthood. They were killed in an airplane crash or disappearance, right? They could come out of the jungles in Chiapas to give him an unexpected future. And wow, I had not thought that Marina might be his lost child but wouldn't that make him Padre Severino's brother or at least BIL, oh where is that lovely red beanie that Emilia made me? I need it

Lila, I hope you can be calm and serene today and try to enjoy your recapping and like the yoga teacher says, BREATHE. I know you will be fine.

Rosemary, I love the puppy for Constanza idea, maybe tat could be a t-shirt theme too. I hate her being stupid over babylust and no one even bopped her over the head or stabbed her this time. Fina must have a nasty plot in mind. Mere heartbreak won't satisfy her for long. And kudos to Vivi for remembering the asylum director and Fina discussing the baby plot. It rang a distant bell in my head but your memory is phenomenal on these details. You are the best of historians here so often.

They didn't overtly discuss that it was a baby scheme, but it was clear from their last conversation that he had put her plan in motion. Doc Director of the Demented is a busy guy. And it's a nice touch Fina put on things by having the baby share the same name as Con's and Gonzo's beloved mother Amparo-- which in itself is a perfect name for a baby needing a home and love. I can't wait to see (and am also dreading) what the full Trojan baby plot is.

I loved Hon's raised eyebrow, eye-rolling reaction to the baby. Cute baby and all, but an old guy's got to get some sleep. He never seemed to be as bothered by the whole never being able to have children thing as Connie was.

Thanks for this wonderful recap, Cheryl. Trojan baby... perfect.

"The anvils teeter gently back and forth."

Nice phrase... I can see them.

About the baby...

Vivi, your memory is incredible. I completely missed any discussions about this.

Didn't Fina say that death awaits both little Amparo and Regina?

Lila, like you, I'm appalled at Jerry:

"Jero signed Zeke's death warrant. . .and then he didn't even tell him!"

And he knows perfectly well what Augie is capable of. What an idiot.

My favorite scene last night was Fina and Blanca squabbling over the imaginary baby. What chilling fun.

Carlos

Carlos, oh yes, that was a priceless moment, the two harpies squabbling over air. Evil aside, it is a joy watching those two pros (and I mean the actresses) strut their stuff. I am ready for them to emerge full force back into the plot lines while Marina goes back to bed.

Lila, I like Cheryl's advice and it is certainly what I tell myself sometimes. Just take a deep breath and move onward. No need to try to translate everything. It's way too easy to go down the rabbit hole sometimes.

Jero - I wanted to slap him for even mentioning Zeke.

I would think that Antonio would remember his BIL's name (Padre Severino) if he was Marina's dad (Marina's mom was the Padre's beloved sister). Plus, I wouldn't think Marina would have had a name change.

But what I DID think was perhaps they would have a love connection. Afterall, they were both the third wheel and the victims of unrequited love. And he kept repeating how he isn't a priest, YET. I know there's an age difference, but it wouldn't be the first time in a TN or in real life. Plus, I think Doc Marina is supposed to be in her 30s and not her 20s like Nata.

Tony now poised to be the conduit on the Jero/Doc Tatas/Renata situation to the Obispo. He would do the because of (love for her?) (new resentment for the Monteruios?) (a sense of duty to the Church) (just strike out the inapplicable). Don't forget Tony can turn on a dime - went from wealthy retired athlete to a life of poverty in the Church.

They could just give up on the Catholic Church and join the Church of Later Day Saints.

David in IN

Thanks so much, Cheryl. What brilliant phrases you turn. I, too, found "The anvils teeter gently back and forth" beautifully chilling.

Is Zeke TRYING to get killed? Why would he confront Augustin with that evidence? He knows how evil he is. He needs to testify against Augie and get into a witness protection program. Has Augustin actually done anything that could get him a really long prison sentence? What's the punishment for attempted murder by hired hand plus general creepiness?

I also had the impression that Marina and Antonio might end up together. I don't think he's all that committed to being a priest. Plus, she really needs to stop going on and on about being so in love with Jero, the father of her babies, wah wah wah, or else I am going to strangle her myself.

When Marina first turned up, I thought she might be Antonio's lost daughter. I had forgotten that until you guys mentioned it today. I was thinking last night that maybe he wouldn't take his vows and he and Marina would become a family.

I was surprised that the baby was part of a Fina/Blanca plot. I thought it was going to be a happy ending for Coni and she would finally have her baby.

I doubt that Renata would believe anything that Roberta tells her re: Zeke. It would take more than her word for N. to believe it.

I think Chema is going to go into remission. Not taking him to get tests to see how his condition is progressing seems to assure that. Adri is going to be stuck in an engagement she doesn't want. Hopefully, he will fall in love with Julieta.

I thought Luz was Alfie's and Zeke's daughter. I think motorcycle person is Mani's granddaughter.

Robey

Robey, you are right about Luz. I had forgotten the baby had a name. Do we know the name yet of Manuela's granddaughter?

Oh thanks Julia for presenting your sentiments. I think we could hire Augie to take his little bag of abduction tricks over to Marina's and put some of that tape to good use across her mouth. Basta! She has taken an adolescent fantasy to extremes and now has to raise two children alone with only generous support for the children but want to bet Renata keeps it to that? Jero never lied about his enduring love for Renata not for her. It's hard to watch a supposedly really smart character continue to act in such a juvenile fashion when she will be called on to belly up to the adult bar to raise her children unless they are going to be really neurotic like Mommy. I hope you Antonio hearts Marina proponents are right. She needs a major distraction so she won't continue to make Renata's life miserable. Let's just hope Marina doesn't pair up with bitter Roberta to hatch some evil scheme to bring Renata down.

Sylvia - Manuela's granddaughter is named Alison, and Afie's/Zeke's daughter is Luz Maria. I like the idea of Alison riding into town on a motorcycle! That would be fun.

Robey, I think a lot of us were surprised that the Trojan baby (Amparo, right?) was Fina's evil plan. But I think by his immediate reaction that Honorio is trying to convey that they are too old to become parents at this point instead of occasional doting grandparents. I think he will be great at that and I too think Honorio has always been fine with not having children. After all they could have adopted when they were younger.

Cheryl, that was an absolutely delicious title in every sense of the word. Just superb.

And ditto to all the other phrases highlighted by our savvy readers.

Like Vivi and Julia, I thought Marina and Antonio might become an item. She needs an on-site daddy and he needs a family and a new start. Problem solved!

Alas, I understand all too well Constanza's craziness with that baby. I would fall into a trap like that easily...even at my age. Something about a baby short-circuits every working brain cell I have. Not sure how it is supposed to lead to Connie's death, but will pray this is another one of Fina's failed homicide attempts.

Chema should definitely hook up with Julieta..they're made for each other.

Roberta and Hernan...yuck. But maybe....

Cheryl:

I haven't yet read comments on this busy morning but I had to drop a line to say that the recap was just INSPIRED. Really. So much going on, so many actions to ponder and question and a fab recap to halp me catch what I may have otherwise missed.

Thank you, thank you. Will comment later when I finish with pesky work.

With a smile,

EJ

HI Judy, and all who have championed the Marina/Antonio pairing. Now if we could be matchmakers and also bring Chema and Julieta together. I think a Roberta and Augie pairing would be full of fire and brimstone but definitely hot. Too bad he has that obsession to win Renata. Roberta doesn't seem to be planning ahead on the fact that even if she helps him with all his dastardly plans, she is not going to win him as her prize. He is only using her to get to Renata.

Cheryl, whatonderful words to be entertained by while having coffee and more coffee and more coffee.

Please folks, give Jerry a break. I don't think he wanted to squeal on Zeke. He wasn't going to, but then he snuck a look at Nata--she knew he knew more and he didn't want to 1)lie again; 2)get himself into more hot water later when his wife has to admit that he told her about the sarmiento.

Where do these TN guys get all those candles at the drop of a hat? Do they hava a special cardboard box in the closet with all the necessaries--candles, flower petals, candy, wine, etc.? (ok, I know, Jero's at home and he could just go to the kitchen for most of this stuff.) Nonetheless, I loved some real love-making for a change.

The Trojan baby. I knew the mom was going to leave her--in fact she looked worried that Inez was going to talk Con out of it in the Centro. But a Fina plot--never saw it coming.

Loved the "anvils teeter back and forth." After seeing a huge anvil fall on a wagon full of pumpkins, I know the damage it can do It was in a Metropolitan Opera production of The Barber of Seville (with Peruvian Juan Diego Florez in the title role--and yes, it's an unabashed plug--check him out on Youtube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YsmaiDLENIk&feature=results_video&playnext=1&list=PLF0523E6F3BFD5119

(This is 7 min. of non-stop delicious coloratura, which he says leaves him exhausted--Sorry for the intrusion, are there any opera fans out there?)

Manuela is being a busy body
chattering away not realizing how it sounds on the other end, although her heart is in the right place. Right now she's out-meticheing Matilde. Get her a leather headband, someone.

LILA--Hals un beinbrecht (sp?) for this evening debut recap. We're all with you, amiga.
NOK

David--you just keep on keeping on--Church of the Later Day Saints--yeah, he'll wait for a later day.

Julia--agree with your take on Tony. Even in her cover-ups, he was giving Marina the once or twice over.
NOK

NOK: I'm an opera music fan. I've never seen an opera, but I fell in love with the music when Deanna Durbin sang No One Sleeps Tonight (Nessum Dorma) in one of her movies and then caught one of Sarah Brightman's TV specials not long after. I have also discovered a show on PBS called Classic Arts Showcase which shows clips of all kinds of things: ballet, opera, recitals, docs, etc.

Wondering what Manuela's granddaughter is going to bring to the mix.

Cheryl, your word pictures are perfect! I almost got dizzy watching the swaying anvils! Thanks, amiga.

I hadn't thought about the disturbed granddaughter - Alison? - breezing into town on a motorcycle. Betcha that's who it is. Mike and I had decided it was Marina out on a toot while nobody was watching! Obviously not, but fun to speculate...

Antonio / Marina match-up? He could bore her into a coma so she would HAVE to stay in bed.

Trojan baby, poor kid. Can't blame Hon for his reaction. He certainly didn't come home from work expecting to share his bed with a baby. Or a baby-struck wife for that matter.

Hey, new here and stumbled upon this blog. Nice to know there is a community I can come and talk to (in english) about my fav novela! Okay anyways: with marina and antonio ...OKAY, I dont see them being father/daughter or going into a relationship... I dunno that's me. They might but right now I dont see it or feel it...although it WOULD make sense ...etc.

With the baby issue with coni i seriously think, well this was my first thought when i found out fina planned the whole thing, was that the alleged momma of the baby was going to file against coni and say she stole the baby or something would happen where it would make coni seem like the baby snatcher. the only reason i think this is because blanca and fina were talking about how they both wanna see regina and constanza behind bars...

I might be totally off, but these are just what i thought lol

cant wait til tonight's show

WELL, i just realized that the baby they used I believe WAS kidnapped ...because the alleged mom of "amparo" said she didn't like dealing with the brat, or something. So maybe the REAL mom would be filing for a missing child, leading them to constanza, and then putting her in hot water. Again I am not entirely sure if the baby was that woman's or not, but by the way she talked about it I dont think it was her baby and she was just an accomplice in fina's plan to hurt coni

Hi Jessica. Welcome!!
I hadn't thought about who the baby's real mommy could be. Good call.

Welcome Jessica! It's great to have another voice here and you seem to have an appropriately devious point of view as regards possible plot lines. Good thinking there about Fina and Blanca maybe trying to get Coni behind bars. Now I'm super curious to see how this plays out.

NOK, I adore opera. I got hooked while visiting the Salzburger MarionettenTheater and saw The Barber of Seville done by marionettes! It was so real and life-like I forgot they were not humans. I saw several shows while there in my late teens. Later I graduated to humans. These days I don't go regularly, but occasionally try to catch a performance. Thanks for the link, I'm going to watch now.

Welcome Jessica! We love to hear new voices.

I don't remember the baby-mama calling Amparo a brat. Are you ahead of us a bit? I do think you're right that Fina and Blanca want Connie behind bars like them.

Welcome, Jessica! You know I thought about a fake charge of kidnapping, too. Glad you stumbled upon us and offered this oh-so-fina-like possibility!! Oh, that would soooo destroy poor Connie, to even be accused!

Cheryl, Cap'n. and NOK, thanks for the encouragement! Deep, cleansing breath. . .inhale! let it out with an ooooohhhhhhmmmmm!

Lila ;D

Lots of opera fans here, NOK. After all, melodrama is melodrama. ;}

Was the anvil *supposed* to fall in the pumpkins? I don't remember that from "Barber," but then I'm not a huge fan of bel canto.

Jessica, welcome to our study group. I'm glad that you found us. I still don't know what to think about little Amparo and what Fina and Blanca may have planned. That hit me right between the eyes last night... out of the blue.

NOK, seems like we're always having to cut Jerry slack.

He has a nasty temper which often sends him off half-cocked.

He has impaired judgement and a selfish sense of entitlement... hence the twins.

He apparently has no regard for Zeke's safety... or else is hopelessly stupid.

I try and try to like the guy but every time I think I'm on board with him... he finds a way to disappoint.

I love opera. As a freshman in college, my suite mate (a cowboy from Pearsall, Texas) invited me to go see the music dept's production of Rigolleto. I was absolutely captivated and attended every performance.

The following Spring they produced Boris Godunov. I only went once. Not all opera is good.

I think that my favorite opera may be Mozart's Don Giovanni. I especially enjoyed Peter Sellars' strange production which aired on PBS many years ago.

Last night our PBS channel had a show in which they featured clips of Placido Domingo's favorite arias and roles.

Hola Jessica, Let me add my thanks for joining in with us and adding such sharp observations about the Mom's attitude. She seemed really depressed but I'm not sure I was paying all that much attention to the first time we saw here and then I was off grid last Friday when I assume they showed Coni agreeing to keep the little tyke so maybe others observed her behavior too. I remember that in the very beginning, Pepa/Fina was not such a happy Mom either so I imagine it is hard to be with a baby alone especially since she seems to have no money.

Anyway, Jessica we love new people here to join in our merry group. I was one of those who stumbled onto this site when wishing I could find someone to share my fascination with telenovelas and not act like some of my freinds in town who roll their eyes when I go on about them and about CarayCaray too. You are in a safety zone here so keep the comments coming.

Welcome Jessica. Your theory about the baby is diabolical..and therefore probably right. Oh woe!

Ah...Don Giovanni...I saw it under the stars..back in the summer of '63 when the Santa Fe Opera was still open air. That memory will stay with me always.

The following year, saw the Magic Flute in Austria and it wasn't nearly as exciting. Different opera, different venue.

Don Giovanni is my favorite opera. Many of the pieces gave me chills the first time I listened to a recording of the opera in the 9th grade.

Well shoot. I usually go to at least a couple operas every year, but this time just picked one- Moby Dick (budget cuts). but they're also doing Don Giovanni and you all are making me think I need to go to that one too. Thanks a lot people. Fingers crossed for cheap rush tickets.

Poor Roberta. First she can't get the evil schemes to work out, and now she can't get the hang of being good. I can't see her with this guy, but maybe his artist son? It's a shame Augie is a nut job because they'd be cute as a couple. Slightly evil couple, but cute. Fingers crossed for her too.

Kelly

While everyone else is enjoying tonights's episode, I'm just finishing last nights.

Cheryl - your title is a work of art! Favorite line: Zeke and Alfi dine with anvils on the ceiling they can't see.

Welcome Jessica! We love new blood! After getting over the shock that Fina is behind the baby getting in Con's arms, I think you could be right about forthcoming kidnapping charges.

Antonio y Marina? Hmmm.... I like Daisy's daddy-daughter idea. Does Padre Tio even know someone else (Antonio) is coming to the pueblo, or is he still too sick?

Cheryl says Carlos' mom has come a long way, but I have not. I still can't stand her. What a buttinski. Worse than Manuela. Is her name Elvira? Figures.

BEST moment (in agreement with Carlos) was the imaginary baby with Fina and Blanca. How fun is this thread? They need to do a spin-off with these two.

Good luck tonight, Lila!

Glad there are other opera fans here! This Saturday I'll be attending the HD broadcast of Satyagraha, which is new to me:

http://www.metoperafamily.org/metopera/liveinhd/LiveinHD.aspx?source=hptab

I also have Ring Cycle tickets for this season. I am psyched.

Opera Lovers:

I'll join the queue. My favorite live performance? Prokofiev's 'The Fiery Angel', in London in the '90's. Absolute knockout production in an oh-so-weird operatic story.I dreamed about the production and story for weeks.

As to the Trojan Baby plot, Cheryl, that was my favorite phrase out of a recap filled with gems. Thank you very much for your recap. I speculate that the bad Dr. Director bought little Amparo from her Mother. Perhaps Mommy was a former inmate of the manicomio? And setting Connie up as a kidnapper sounds like a diabolical and perhaps effective plot. It would devastate Regina, Coni, and Hon at the same moment.

'Til our next capitulo...

Carlos, ITA that Jero is half-cocked, although I am too much of a lady to further explain myself.

One of my favorite opera experiences, La Boheme at the Sydney opera house in 1988, they had three, count 'em THREE, intermissions of about 30 minutes each. And man were those people dressed up. It was explained to me that there was nothing else to do in Sydney so they made the most of their night at the opera. I sobbed at the end; of course I was pretty lit after drinking myself through three intermissions.

It's fun hearing everyone else's favorite opera experiences. Too bad Kris isn't around, she is a huge opera fan. I'm sure she's got a story or two.

Well, I never. Opera fans in amongst the Caray weeds. Didn't know what I started. My favorite opera happens to be Faust (followed by a string of other ones). A new production is coming up in December in HD with RGL (as in Really Good Looking) Jonas Kaufmann as Faust.

UA--We've seen all the Rings so far in HD, too. Don't like the machine so much, but you gotta have something complicated, electronic, clever and innovative to keep the young folks interested, eh?

I bet Lila is working hard on her recap. My word verification is suctess--which we are all sure it will be.
NOK

Lila's first recap has just been posted! That girl is a fireball.

Great recap! I love this blog :) I don't get to it as often as I used to (I drop off the face of the planet during the school year), but I've become obsessed with TNs and even upped my Uverse package to add paquete espanol!!

Non CME question... anyone know a good discussion forum for Telemundo novelas? I'm looking for a place to discuss Mi Corazon Insiste and/or catch episodes online (I think I missed an episode somewhere, or it's just terrible editing as is so common with these!) Forums on Telemundos websites are awful.

Thanks for the fabulous work!

AnotherAmy- There is a Telemundo dicussion line here on CarayCaray. The post once a week, but keep the discussions going the whole week. Look on the sidebar to El Mundo de Telemundo.

Yay! Thanks Vivi!
