Cuando Me Enamoro #154 Friday 11/25/11 This Thanksgiving, the Monterrubios Are Thankful For A Wedding Without Flying Bullets.

Hola, amigos! I hope everyone had a lovely Thanksgiving. Grab a slice of leftover pumpkin pie and settle in for our latest adventure!

Fina tries to threaten Berta into giving her information about what's going on in the family. When that doesn't work, she calls the mansion for Regina but Berta answers for Regi. Fina warns Berta that she is not bluffing and Berta had better show up with the dinero. Berta agrees and gives Regi an excuse about who called.

Regina gives Nata a box of Fina''s pictures and leftover things that were cleaned out of the house. Nata thanks her for does not open the box. Her childhood was not very happy and she wants to enjoy herself at Regi's wedding. Regi shows Nata a picture of Roberto and Regi remarks on the resemblance between Nata and her padre.

Constanza hides Corina and Amparito in a secluded bedroom and Corina plots her next evil move.

Augie and Anibal chat with a mechanic. When Augie steps out of the room, Anibal takes a bag out of the motorcycle and hides it in his coat.

The wedding party is in full swing at La Monterrubio mansion. Honorio and Constanza arrive, as do Ines and Isidro. Everyone is in good spirits and are disappointed that Jero couldn't make it. German and his wife Gema arrive to join the festivities. Chema and Adriana show up as well. I am in love with Adri's baby blue dress; she looks like a million bucks.

Ines and Isidro question the maid about having seen Fina. The maid is certain she saw Berta give Fina a box. A man was with Fina as well, but the maid did not see his face.

Antonio wheels Marina in to visit Jero in jail. Jero is happy to see her but upset that she's out of bed. He will be free in a few hours. Marina cries all over the place and understands why Jero didn't tell Nata. He is always protecting Nata and sparing her feelings.

Monterrubios and Friends toast to the newlyweds. They profess their love for each other anew and make it offical. They sign on the dotted line and share a kiss while everyone cheers, hoots, and hollers.

Fina is furious that she can't do anything to stop Gonzo and Regina's wedding. Blanca claims it's just a piece of paper but Fina's anger knows no bounds. Once the marriage is legal, Fina has lost another man to Regi.

Carlos and Priscila goof off in the lab and Matilde interrupts to tell Carlos they can get married immediately. Priscila pulls a face at the news. Mati shoots Priss a smug smile as she and Carlos lock lips. Priss criticizes Carlos for getting married while Jero is in jail.

Marina does not want to leave Jero's side. Mari tells Jero that she believes the babies can hear and feel everything going on in the outside world. Jero says that they must know how loved they are. Marina cries that she can't wait to have a family and a happy home. Whatever happens, together or separated, Marina's love for Jero will be eternal.

Anibal and Augie visit La Bonita and Allison tells the pair of them that Nata went back to Mexico for her father's wedding. Augie internally jumps for joy at the news that Jero is in jail and Nata knows nothing about it.

Corina complains about the baby crying.

Julieta arrives late to the wedding. German asks who Julieta is and Chema says that Julieta is Matias's girlfriend. Berta ruins everything by ever so innocently bringing up Matias and Adriana's engagement. Chema starts turning red and demands an explanation. Adriana and Matias come clean about their relationship. They try to explain but Chema tells them all to go to hell before storming out of the house.

The Monterrubios explain Chema's situation to Berta, German, and Gema. Adri wanted to make Chema's last days happy by pretending to be his fiancee. Julieta played Matias's girlfriend to keep Chema from catching on. Berta takes offense to not having been told since the entire family already knew about it.

"Why did they lie to me?" Chema wonders as he rips off his tie in anger. "Adriana, I thought you were perfect. How you you do this to me?"

Nata gets a phone call from Augie. He tells her about Jero's imprisonment.

Since he has lots of free time now, Jero reasons out all of Augie and Berta's bad deeds. He decides that Nata has to know about the suspicion that Berta slept with Augie.

Augie claims to only be thinking of Nata. He thought she should know and offers to hire a lawyer for Jero if she wants. Nata says she and Jero will handle the situation; she doesn't even know all the details yet. She hangs up and Augie thinks that now is the time to get Jero out of Nata's life forever.

Adriana calls Ben to tell him that the jig is up. Chema hates her now and she's afraid what he's going to do. Ben agrees to tell Chema the whole truth once they locate him. Adri feels guilty about what happened but Julieta asserts that it's Berta's fault.

As the party winds down, Ines takes note of which champagne glass Nata sits on a nearby table.

Nata calls Carlos and demands to know the truth. Carlos spills the beans; Jero told him to keep it a secret. Jero is fine and was promised that he would be let out in a few hours. Nata cools off and hopes that Jero will be set free soon. If not, Nata will go down there herself and move heaven and earth to get him out.

Gonzo apologizes to German and Gema for the upset. They understand and enjoyed the evening regardless. German claims to have to make a phone call as an excuse to be alone with Berta. He agrees that she is the victim for having been left out of the loop of the Chema secret. (Instead of the guy dying of a brain tumor. Riiight.) Berta swears she never would have said anything if she had known the truth.

Berta thinks to herself that Fina was a good teacher. She followed her mother's old teachings and now everyone feels bad for her. Just for good measure, Berta calls Gema a hag and wonders why he's married to her.

Finally left alone, Gonzo and Regi celebrate they are finally married at last. Nata gives them the news about Jero. The following morning, she is going to catch a flight and straighten things out. Regi and Gonzo offer to change their honeymoon plans and go with her. Nata appreciates the offer but refuses to be the reason they derail their honeymoon.

Upstairs, Berta giggles at her revenge. She got back at Adriana and Matias and now she has to figure out how to free herself from Fina. She worries someone might have seen her and Fina together.

Ines and Isidro discuss their suspicion that Nata is Regina's real daughter. Ines stole Nata's champagne glass so they could test the fingerprints. Unfortunately, the prints were smudged off by Ines's purse. Ines isn't giving up, though. Isidro says they need to be careful. Fina must have a powerful accomplice helping her outside the hospital.

In a split screen, Nata and Jero both express their desires to be near each other in such a trying time.

Augie gets a phone call about a background check on Marina. He asks Anibal to stay at the hacienda. He wants to get to know Anibal more, despite denying the fact that he is his father. Augie thought-bubbles that he needs Anibal around so he can get information out of Allison about what's going on in Nata's life. He plans to look like a saint in Nata's eyes. Good luck with that, hombre.

Avances: Ultimas Semanas! No lo puedo creer! Jero's still in the pen, Nata walks in during Marina's visit, and Augie talks to a shady-looking guy.

Thanks for the great recap Amy. I hope you and all of our Caray mates had a wonderful Thanksgiving.

I'm happy that Gonzo and Gina are finally married. Hopefully their honeymoon will be pleasant and as others have mentioned Gonzo will regain his body.

Now that poor Chema knows he's been hoodwinked, this storyline needs to end. OK, he needs to find out why everyone was lying to him before he goes to the great beyond.

David - Congratulations on your son and I hope you see him soon. I actually live in Bloomington.

Marta - you gave us a wonderful treat for Thanksgiving and given all you had to do I appreciate you that much more.

Amy Azul, Well you are back from your studies and coming on full force. Thanks for the detailed recounting of a very busy episode. The title is so funny and appropriate to our holiday but so true too. Even Roberta wanted it to be peaceful although she laid curses on almost everyone else.

I oculd barely watch the Maritatas showr of tears and self pity. She is in a league iwth Roberta but not as evil (yet). Poor Chema indeed. Karen, I completely agree that Chema's sad tale needs to revert back to the truth. I hope they can find him so he can learn what they were doing was merely out of stupid kindness. I liked Gonzo's take on it that lies never go well in the end.

Happy Thanksgiving weekend all, I spent mine iwth lovely peaceful people, about 27 or 28 of us. We heald hands in a circle before sitting down to eat. Everyone that wanted to said what they were thankful for. How inspiring.

Sorry for all the typing errors. I really can't type wiell this late at night.

Amy, thanks so much for your detailed recap. It helped me so much by filling in the blanks. Yesterday felt so much like a Saturday that I totally forgot to set the VCR. At 9 o'clock as I was stirring pie filling on the stove I remembered. When the filling was cooling I started a mad dailymotion search but could only come up with part 1 and part 4. At least I got to see Nata and Adri in their lovely dresses and got a glimpse of Gema.

Today I take that pie to a second Thanksgiving dinner -- with 28 or so members of my side of the family. On Thursday we had a lovely dinner with my husband's clan.

I'm as thankful as the Monterrubios that this wedding finally went off without a hitch. Too bad that our amateur sleuth Ines didn't watch more crime movies. Didn't she know to wrap that glass?

What do you think Anibel has in that backpack that he was so anxious to retrieve from the motorcycle?

I'm sorry I missed the scene with Carlos, Mati and Pris. I would have loved to see our fly trap oenologist squirm as she digested Mati's news.

Amy- Thank you for getting this recap up so quickly. I hope all your exams and papers went well. Great title too!

Yes indeed, a relatively peaceful wedding. Shocking! (Of course, had Fina known sooner, she would have made sure that wasn't the case.) But Berta did manage to throw a little bit of cold water on the festivities. Like mother, like daughter.

I'm looking forward to Berta finding out that the reason German is with that "hag" (ruca) Gema is because SHE has all the $$$$$$$.

I felt so embarrassed for Marina. Blubbering and whining in front to Jero and telling him he is the love of her life. All he could do was stare at her blankly through the bars. I mean, what do you say to that, when that person is about to have your babies and will be in your life forever more? I liked how when Tony was there he kept mentioning Renata to keep her in Marina's (and maybe also Jero’s) mind. "Hey, does RENATA know? This is going to upset RENATA and Regina so much."

I can't believe Marina is actually going to show up at the jail again on Monday (what more does she have to whine at Jero about?), just as Nata shows up. Fun times!

I had to laugh when Augi was telling Nata about Jero and yawned. Even he is getting bored with his little game. But it does look like he’s got some big master plan to get Jero completely out of the way (murder?), that somehow involves Marina(?). Hmmmm…

"What do you think Anibel has in that backpack that he was so anxious to retrieve from the motorcycle?"

I don't know, but the kid is hiding something. I've thought so for a while. Everytime anyone asks him if he's spoken to his mom or if she knows where he is, he either clams up or changes the subject quickly. We have also not seen him have a phone conversation at any point with his mom. Something is going on there. I believe his story about being Augi's son, but he's hiding something else.

I wonder if Areli is Aníbel's mom. I'm new to Caray, Caray, so forgive me if this has been discussed, but how come a doctor, with all her medical knowledge, couldn't/didn't avoid an unwanted pregnancy?
Cathy

Hey Cathy! I think Areli is a little too young to be Anibal's mom (she's in her 20s and Anibal is 18). Plus, Augi confirmed the Hortencia Cuevas story. Marina explained that she was using birth control, but it failed. We have no more details than that, but it is true that the only 100% protection is abstinence.

I hadn't thought about how evasive Anibel gets whenever anyone asks him about his home & his mother. You might be on to something, Vivi.

I'm really curious about what Auggie has in mind that has to do with Marina. Maybe a page from Fina's playbook -- get some incriminating info about her and use it to blackmail her into conspiring with him to keep Jero & Nata apart?

Auggie can sure be a charmer when he wants to be -- he seems to be sucking Anibel in with his new mentoring attitude. Anibel likes Renat a lot & Jero was not so welcoming to Anibel & only took him in at Nata's urging. So Anibel may join team Auggie just to help get Nata & Auggie together if Auggie convinces him that Nata is better off with them than with Jero.

Güera

Thanks, AmyAzul. Now... isn't focusing on your telenovela so much more rewarding than doing your homework? I love your funny title. I think we are all relieved there were no flying bullets at the wedding, but Poor Chema.... Did Roberta know he was terminal? Did she know she was messing with a dying eyelash-adorned sweetheart?

Loved the lines: "Since (Jero) has a lot of free time now..." and "instead of the guy dying of the brain tumor? Riiiight" lol

Of course TODAY was going to be THE DAY that I re-start the 26- year-diet (my son is 26 and I am still trying to lose the baby weight) but, then you told me to grab that leftover pumpkin pie, and by damn, I DID! Hopefully calories burn more quickly the more upset we get at Roberta.

I thought Gema seemed nice, not a ruca at all. She told Renata how pretty she is and she was very pleasant and friendly around people she'd never met. Then her pukey husband leers at Julieta. That makes three young girls we've seen him drool over: Adri, Berta and now Julieta, who was looking good in her dress with Matias in his matching tie.

Did you guys see Chema's cute face (pre-truth) when Gonzo and Regina were saying their vows? His storyline has been bad, but he's sure been fun to watch.

We all have a lesson to learn with the confidence Mati showed by marching right up to Carlos in front of Problem Prescila and talking about their boda, like Prescila doesn't even matter, which she shouldn't. Well handled, Matilde!

I've been suspicious that Anibal's mother has died, and grandma is egging him on to connect with Augie. But what could be in the backpack? Would it matter if his mother were dead or alive?

Marina's blubbering is TOO MUCH. I want to scream! How is she ever going to have the internal fortitude to deal with TWO screaming babies? How did she ever handle Med School? They did NOT have a great love affair. Perhaps she "imprinted" on Jero. Pardon me, I went to Breaking Dawn last night.

Thanks again, Amy. Welcome back.

Rosemary la Otra

Puleeeze don't let Anibal be the son of Blanca-of-the-many-aliases.

Thanks for the complete and entertaining recap, Amy. Always a Saturday morning treat.

R la O- German also leered at Nata's backside as she walked away from the door. He has checked out every young woman around. I agree that Gema seemed really nice. I hope she divorces the jerk and leaves him penniless. That would serve him and Berta right!

OMG! Emilia! That would be something! Anibal the daughter of Blanca. That would explain the mystery surrounding where his mother is. OH that is so awful, let's hope it's true!

Vivi - I missed German's leer at Renata. So, there's 4. Creep. That would be a funny ultima episodio scene of Roberta... stopping at the bank heading out to her honeymoon with German. Estupido.

R la O

lol... of course I meant "Anibal the SON of Blanca". Or who knows?

Good morning and happy Saturday after Thanksgiving to all!

Amy, it's so nice to have you back after all your hard studying. What a perfect title, I kept waiting for someone to pull a gun but no, the wedding was blissfully peaceful. (Stupid wet blanket Berta notwithstanding.)

Oh, and thank you for reminding me about the last piece of sweet potato pecan pie. I quickly gobbled it up for breakfast!

R la O, I noticed German oggled Renata's backside after meeting her and Gema gave him a jab in the ribs for it. He's quite rude and she's clearly got his number. I'm not sure why she needs him around since she's got enough money to buy all the bad wigs she needs. Yes, she does seem very nice, way too nice for him.

Oops Vivi, I missed your comment about German leering at Nata while I was posting.

Anibal son of Blanca?? NOOOOO!!! That would be too funny. But things are winding down, he's hiding something, and we need to get Blanca to the wine country somehow. Maybe she and Fina will break out, team up and head there together.

Oh my! I just realized that Cuevas, as in Hortencia Cuevas (Anibal's mother), means caves. Since all of Blanca's names have to do with the country maybe, just maybe...

You guys are killing me with this. Ani can't be Blanca's kid! Two evil parents. That would be too much. The thought gives me the heebie jeebies.

Amy, thank you so much. I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving as did I and it continues as I watch "Up" on TV with my Daughter and my recording of this episode during commercials. Reading your recap is another lovely part of this day of vegging, for which I'm thankful!

Anyone else hear, but I think the other day in EM when Roberta listened in on the latest phase of lies til he dies plot, I think they did mention Chema's tumor.

And as for Anibal, he may have something of his dad's scheming genes and maybe IS after money from Auggie? At this point, I just want Roberta outted early enough that we can have Regina and Renata spend time as Mother and Daughter before the whole thing ends.

Thank you Amy!

Lila

Wouldn't it be hilarious if murderous stalker Blanca ended up being Augustin's fling? Now that would serve him right and get us on the right path toward his demise. Imagine, being chased around wine country, earth and hell by Blanca? Wheeeee!

Lila, I don't remember hearing that exactly but it would make sense. I don't think the knowledge would have stopped Berta from blabbing though. Her goal was to stick it to Matias and Adri.

R la O, glad to know I might be burning calories by getting mad at Berta.

Vivi and Sylvia, I am glad I was not the only one to enjoy that little arm jerk or poke Gemma gave German to bring his attention back when he leered so greasy-like at Renata. She is so on to him, I wish Renata had seen it too so she could be available to help Gonzo focus on his bad hiring choices when he gets back from his Luna de Miel.

Amy thanks again for your dedication while being super student. I hope all your papers, exams, etc. gain you A++s.

Thanks Amy, this is great. It's so good to have you back this week.

I was a little annoyed with Renata for not revealing to Carlos that it was Augie who informed her of Jerry's incarceration. Now he will certainly blame Mati for leaking this information.

I thought that Jerry had promised from now on to be honest with Nata. It was one thing for him to lie himself, he can always wheedle his way back into her good graces. It'll be more difficult for Mati and Carlos to regain her trust.

Blanca as Aníbal's mom? Yikes! I love the idea, but I can't imagine Blanca, pregnant with Augie's child, simply allowing him to go on his merry way. Even as soulless and ruthless as Augie is, I can't imagine him escaping Blanca's grasp.

I didn't notice Germán oogling Renata the first time around so I rewound to see for myself... he even leaned back to get a better view. You have to admit, however, that she does look great in that dress.

What could be in Aníbal's backpack? Drugs just seem way too obvious.

I'm really not liking this Amparo story. Corina's attitude toward the infant is chilling.

Adriana has already told Chema that she is Matia's novia and he proptly forgot... heck, maybe he'll forget again.

Carlos

Lila - I am with you wanting us to be able to savor the Renata / Regina relationship. It will be awful if it is revealed at the last moment, and they both gasp, smile, then turn to graystone like the end of all the episodes.

Carlos - Maybe Blanca didn't "simply allow Augie to go on his merry way". Perhaps she fled. She could have been young and naive and beautiful and terrified of him. Then she aged and hardened and went crazy. Look at Sweet Areli, she was well on her way down that path, turning vat dials and all (and maybe even throwing in some dung as was once mentioned).

That would be an excellent way to get Blanca Caves (thank you to our resident sleuther, Sylvia)down to the wine country, with her new bff, Fina. Ahhhh, the lovely possibilities of what they could do to Augie! Ohhhh, the horror if they side in with him though.

R la O

I just re-watched Renata greeting German and Gema and saw the leer and poke. Not only did he leer, he raised one eyebrow, which his wife saw him do. Is it a waste of energy to root for the divorciado of minor characters we've only met once? Go Team Gema!

Cathy - I hope you are liking the new-found CarayCaray site. It's a lot of fun. Please keep commenting and asking questions. We love to hash it over and over.

R la O

Amy:

You did such a fine detailed recap of this episode. Thank you. I Loved the title, "The Monterrubios are Thanksful for a Wedding without flying bullets".

Karen, I could not agree with you more. This crazy storyline with Chema must be finished. The writers have beat it into the ground and poor Chema ended up feeling not soothed but completely humiliated.

Guera and Vivi: I too am intrigued by what secret Anibal has in that backpack that he is so ineptly hiding. No one could call that child "slick" for sure. He is cute as a button and playing Anibal as very sincere. Just love this character. Augie, hands off your boy!

Good day to all and I hope each of you enjoyed a marvelous Thanksgiving holiday.

EJ

Thank you R la O. I have to say that I'm a bit confused by everyone's age on this show. If Areli is in her 20's but she had a relationship with Augustine years ago, she must have been quite young. Augustine and Jeronimo seem to be in their 40's, yet Roberta and Renata are around 25, I believe. It then gets a bit confusing as to who could be who's parent or lover.
Cathy

Dear Flor/Amy--I hadn't really missed you until I finished reading the recap. Then, I realized I hadn't been reading any of your good stuff for a bit. Glad your're back and in great form.

Blanca as Anibal's mother. Could be, but that wouldn't explain why she targetted the EM, trying to bring them down financially.

Don't forget, we also have her "on tape" talking to someone she called her dad. Anibal only mentioned mamma and granny--no grandaddy (unless he's never been in the picture, but that's really stretching it).

What was in the backpack--hmmm. No idea, but why hide a backpack under your coat. It would make more sense for someone his age to HAVE a backpack than travel with nothing but the wind in your hair (ooops, forgot he was following a good PSA and wore his helmet).

On why Gema stays with German. Remember, was it Honorio...saying that German's wandering eyes and hands caused a separation sometime in the past, but she took him back after he begged and promised not to do it again (or at least not to get caught at it).

German's a good-looking, hard (?)-working guy that maybe she likes to have around for window dressing--or she could really love him.

As for German--is it just lust or could he be out for a little Monterrubio money, dallying with Berta. If the latter, he's in for a surprise. He's much better off being an associate at EM.

Berta doesn't need his money, so what exactly is HER motivation--or is it just an overactive libido?

I'm soooo very tired of Maritata and the same song, "Jero, You Are the Great and Everlasting Love of My Life."

Shame on Jero for not setting her straight--Honey, it was once, after a kiss, in your office, on your desk, after hours, with the lights on. Hardly a Romantic interlude.

ITA--Chema can go now and we wouldn't miss him. However, we are left with the need for a new man for Julieta. Does Priscila need a guy, too? What about Areli? Too many unattached women in this TN, not to mention Berta, Blanca and Fina.

Puuleeeze, how hard would it be for Ines and Isidrio to get a sample of hair from Renata. He's an attorney--he could ask for a set of fingerprints from her just as easily on some pretext.

Methinks I think too much on these matters.
NOK

Viv, Sylvia, Cheryl:

I LIKE Gemma. She's onto horny German's games for sure. This guy is hopeless. Why would Gemma stay married to such a creep? Divorce is so hard...or Hmmm, perhaps he had a good lawyer for the pre-nup and she would lose half her fortune? Pure speculation, of course.

Sylvia and Vivi: Ladies, I think you are on to something here. Blanca as Anibal's mommy? Whoa. Now I am fabricating but did you notice that Anibal is almost an anagram for Blanca? Heaven forbid!

Cathy- It was only recently that Augie and Arely had their relationship, not long ago. He was still dating and boinking Arely even while he was lusting after Nata. He never made a formal commitment to her. Never even called her his girlfriend. But she accepted it just to be with him. A bit like Marina who accepted Jero any way she could get him. At least Arely didn't get herself pregnant by Augie.

NOK- Berta doesn't need Germy's money, but she WANTS it. That's what really matters to Berta. I think EJ did an excellent analysis of Berta the other day. She is empty inside and nothing will ever fill her up. She wants everyone's attention and love. She only knows the negative way to get atention, and she doesn't seem to realize that the way to get love is to give it. She also has learned from mama that men are to be used, especially for their money and position. She wants German to fall in love with her. She wants him to fawn all over her, pamper her, shower her with compliments and gifts. I think she would feel happy, for a little while, if she had a powerful, rich man showing her off on his arm, buying her things, and protecting her. She seems to think that German fits that bill.

Emilia:

I forgot to nod at you as the author of the Blanca as Anibal's mommy idea. Great call. (hugs)

NOK: We have so many unconnected dots in these Ultimas Semanas, don't we? What happened to Antonio's wife and offspring? Why does Blanca hate the Monetrrubios? Who is Anibal's mommy, what is in that bag and who is his grandma? To Cathy's point, with all the indefinite ages of characters could Blanca be Anibal's GRANDMA? No...not likely.

And Roberta's motivation? I think you start with neediness and go from there. She thinks German is wealthy, and she likes older men according to Adri ( we have seen her hook up with three, at least). We don't know how much money her Dad left her and Renata, but Fina is rapidly running through HER ill-gotten gains and won't leave anything for Roberta but debt. Berta could be outed any day as not being Gina Junior. Plus, it's something to do...she is enough Fina's daughter that she enjoys an intrigue.

EJ

Vivi:

Big smile amiga. We are singing from the same songbook....

EJ

EJ and Vivi - you both really get to the heart of the matter and spell it out for us. Thank you. ITA, EJ, that Anibal is so cute. Please let him stay unassuming and sincere.

NOK - I had to LOL about your love scene between Jero and Marina. It just keeps getting worse with each re-telling. I love how you added that he should remind her they did it "with the lights on". Now I'd like to add "I was still wearing my socks" to the list ,making your description of Jero's re-telling of their eternal fling:

"It was once, after a kiss, in your office, on your desk, after hours with the lights on, and I was still wearing my socks". Any other details we need to add?

R la O

How about: I didn't even mess up my hair. ??

"It was once, after a kiss, in your office, on your desk, after hours with the lights on, we didn't even knock the filles off the desk, and I was still wearing my socks."

;D Lila

I love it, Emilia and Lila! If anyone else wants to add any details that Jero needs to remind Marina of from the one night of their eternal affair, I will compile them and write it out for us in a couple of days. Please add to the fun!

R la O

"And the whole time I was just mentally composing my shopping list for the ranch supply store."

Thanks for the recap...I still haven't seen this episode but just couldn't wait to read your take. Sounds like a good episode! Welcome back!

Emilia, I love your theory. Well, I mean, poor Anibal; he seems too adorable to be the spawn of both Uggy Augie and Blechy Blanca, but it makes a lot of sense. Maybe the backpack is just full of his superhero underpants and swoony angst-filled diaries.

Somehow I thought the prison guy who convinced Jero to help fake the death of He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named,Yet-Has-Been-Named-A-Thousand-Times had some legal authority and thus Jero was not culpable in any way. Guess not. And now the poor guy is trapped listening to Dra. Desperate wail at him. It's like the best PSA against casual sex ever.

I am really enjoying this speculation. I hope poor Anibal does not have two psycho parents.

And the comments on Dr. Tatas from Emilia and Lila are hilarious! Did anyone notice is the previews how she put more effort into her hair and make-up as she sings the same sad song to Jero? [It's so sad when characters that you previously enjoyed devolve into pitiful people you would never want to know.] As Julia noted, she's be the PSA for don't have causal sex EVER.

I'm loving the description of the on-the-desk love affair. You guys are a hoot.

So true we have a lot of threads hanging and waiting to be woven into this story line in only a few ultimas semanas -- but I'm hoping the speculation about Blanca & Anibel isn't true. That kid needs some compassionate genes.

Areli's age is a conundrum. She was with Auggie recently as we know, but when he called her and asked her to come to Cruz de Amor there was some talk of a long ago affair. She was on her second round -- but how long ago was the first round? We never knew that.

Güera (my word verification is steno -- how NOT appropriate for someone who makes as many typos as I do)

Karen and Vivi - I keep neglecting to say how much I enjoyed seeing your museum picture. How fun for you two to meet up for an afternoon!

Karen - last night I was thinking about all the kids, and even some adults, I know who are really good people who have/had psycho parents. It can be done. It does make me sad to think Anibal could have 2 psycho parents, like you said. The odds are against him, but maybe he is one of those special people who can rise above it. I think everyone in Carayland wants to take him home and fix him a meal, and fill a Christmas stocking for him and make sure he always wears his helmet. We seem to want to keep him safe and sweet. I hope he doesn't let us down and jut his jaw.

Also, Karen, I DID notice Dr. Tata's hair and makeup was all perfect for her next visit to the clink. As if Jero would say... Oh now that I see your hair out of a ponytail I will send Renata to the GUEST ROOM and you can share the master bedroom with me as mi mujer.

Vivi, or any other CME scholar - Did that meeting with the Padre from the other telenovela (sorry, I don't remember his name, just that he wore hot pink) halt the Church Divorce/Annulment? I noticed Renata and Jero refer to themselves as married, but are they? Why doesn't Renata wear her ring?

Word verification: conawsm Not necessarily right now with her hiding the baby and all.

R la O

LOL R la O! Indeed, Connie is not being her usual awesome self right now.

I think Jero and Nata are waiting for the final judgement from the Church to find out if their religious marriage is annulled or not. That would determine if they are just going to redo the civil wedding or if they have to do both again. In the meantime, they are still technically married by the Church so they are just going on that assumption and still calling themselves husband and wife. Plus, Jero is supposed to be working on an impressive proposal, as demanded by Nata. We haven't seen him working on that, but perhaps he hasn't had time with all the mayhem and such.

As for the rings, Nata threw them at Jero when she left him some time back. I haven't seen him give them back to her, nor has she asked for them back. And didn't he put his ring in a drawer when he thought she was Augi's live-in lover? I haven't seen him put his ring back on either. Must be very confusing for the people around them.

Thanks for the recap which helped me get some stuff I had missed.

As for the fingerprints on the champagne glass, who needs those? Isidro and Inez could have a real DNA test done using Renata's saliva from the glass. But this is novela land where nothing is real.

Vivi--I agree with EJ's and your analysis of Berta's personality. I just didn't think she would admit being so needy to herself as a reason to go after a married guy.

Although, she has kvetched to herself how everybody loves Nata and she has no one, why pick on an older, married guy? No commitment? At the very least it gives her control of the affair and she can break it up when she's tired of it.

From the look on her face during her encounters with German, she seems* to me to have a more devious motive. Time will tell--and sooner than we would want, I fear.

She'd have been better off going for Augie, seriously.

As for the Blanca-Augie thing...If she really wanted vengeance for something Augie did in her past, why go after the Empresa M. instead of a very rich Augie, the vineyard, lands and wine business.

Well, maybe Blanca needed the cash to wage the real war. Anibal seems* too innocent a guy to be part of the scheme, even to reconnoiter for her.

*Seems = leaves a lot of wiggle room, but I'm going to hold out that Berta has something else up her sleeve for German and Ani is going to end up being a good guy, in Renata's corner when he finds out what Augie's obsession with her is like.
NOK

RLO-- how about adding this to Jero and Tata's night:
...and the office door was ajar
NOK

It was once, after a kiss, in your office, on your desk, after hours with the lights on, we didn't even knock the files off the desk, and I was still wearing my socks, and the office door was ajar, my car was running and the radio was on."

;D Lila

word verification: "shizaera", the word TaTa thinks she can say to make Jero magically her hombre.

Lila- You forgot Julia's addition: "And the whole time I was just mentally composing my shopping list for the ranch supply store."

Ha ha ha!!! You guys are too funny. I'm loving it. Definitely do not forget the shopping list part.

Aw shoot! Thanks, Vivi and Cap'n, this IS fun:

It was once, after a kiss, in your office, on your desk, after hours with the lights on, we didn't even knock the files off the desk, and I was still wearing my socks, and the office door was ajar, my car was running and the radio was on and the whole time I was just mentally composing my shopping list for the ranch supply store.

Lila for R la O, NOK, Julia, miss anybody?

and Emilia!

Lila

R la O:
"As if Jero would say... Oh now that I see your hair out of a ponytail I will send Renata to the GUEST ROOM and you can share the master bedroom with me as mi mujer".
LOL!!!

Marina is invisible and inaudible to me. She lives in her own private Ensenada, a perfect fantasy world that has NOTHING to do with reality...as so beautifully represented today by the "it was once..." comments. Thanks to Emilia, Julia, R la O, Lila, NOK, Sylvia, Karen and Vivi for setting Dr. M on the road to the real with your GREAT comments.

My two cents...For a little behavioral therapy Dr EJ prescribes the following—Marina now has to repeat that phrase, out loud, 100 times to her nurse, Alfonsina and Antonio, all of whom are co-dependent with her in this idiotic Jero-is-the-love-of-my-life hallucination.

Still laughing at you guys...

EJ

Carlos? Mike? David? Any guys want to add a male perspective to what Jero should tell Marina about their non-eternal romp?

"It was once, after a kiss, in your office, with the door ajar, on your desk, after hours with the lights on, I didn't even mess up my hair, nor did we knock any files off the desk, and the whole time I was just mentally composing my shopping list for the ranch supply store, and I was still wearing my socks with my car running and the radio on.......

You guys are CRAZY!!! Not Fina and Blanca crazy, but getting there!

R la O

R la O y todos! Aye, poor Marina! She's a smart cookie, I don't believe her story about the failed birth control anymore, methinks she was playin' that oldest of old games but she won't win. . .flowing locks or not!

Lila

Lila! I am gobsmacked by this idea. You think Marina planned this all along???? If true, that is just VILE. She knew Jero's status, uncertain, separated, etc.

O! I want to believe her better than that but now you have me thinking.

EJ

I can just see Marina poking little pinholes in the condoms and putting them innocently back in her desk drawer.

RLO--I thinks that's what she did, too.

Missing Caray Men-I think they OD on turkey, stuffing and football (and a little basketball, perhaps).
NOK

Yah, EJ, we may never have it revealed in those convenient little thought bubbles our friends are always spouting off, but she was smitten with Jero from the moment she laid eyes on him. She may have admirable ethics as a medical professional but el corazon manda y all is fair in love and war = condom as sieve.

And Caray men, yup, must've been some derned good vittles! (I know mine were! ;D)

Lila

Thanks for the great recap and all of the really funny comments.

I still laughing about the your list re: the romp. I just read an article about a very desperate woman that saved the boyfriends sperm and then used said sperm for artificial insemination. Nine months later she had twins. Could this have been our Dr. Tatas?

Methinks you ladies have way too much time on your hands! That's hilarious - you are all so creative.

I think you need to hire yourselves out to Televisa TN screenwriters department. LOL!

Thanks so much for the recap Amy!

Audrey

Rosemary la O y todos los otros, I'd add a little mood music for the aforementioned making of the beast w/ two backs, to wit:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aTT-Jmi1nOc

Mike, I love their music but I have to admit I have heard it in awhile. But, Third Rate Romance is the perfect music!

Rosemary #1

Amy - welcome back!

So many excellent comments have already been posted - I will simply add my thanks and appreciateion for your wonderful recap.

Also hope everyone enjoyed their Thanksgiving.

Karen, I agree that Chema's story needs to end. I know I'm delusional, but I'm still kind of hoping for a miraculous recovery and a happy sail into the sunset for Chema and Julieta! :)

Diana

As the moment for our union drew nigh,
On your desktop we decided to lie.
You pulled up your skirt,
I unbuttoned my shirt,
But didn't even loosen my tie.

David

Adding Romp Suggestions from Mike and my 2 children, we have determined that Jero needs to say:

"Marina,
as the moment for our union drew nigh,
on your desktop we decided to lie,
you pulled up your skirt,
I unbuttoned my shirt,
but I didn't even loosen my tie,
it was once,
after a kiss,
in your office,
with the door ajar,
on your desk,
after hours
with the lights on,
I didn't even mess up my hair,
nor did we knock any files off
the desk,
and the whole time I was just
mentally composing my shopping
list for the ranch supply store,
while blogging
and crocheting beanies,
and I was still wearing my socks,
my car was running
and the radio was on playing
Third Rate Romance."

Carlos? David? Anyone else? We are waiting for your food to digest and your input on what a man like Jero says to a clingy woman like Marina.

R la O

Amy, great recap. What is it that you're studying?

Thanks also for all your supportive and caring statements regarding my son. I showed them to my wife and she was deeply moved. (But she still thinks I'm nuts for watching TN's)

I now have an Emilia beanie, as do the twins! Emilia, you are a true artista. They are beautiful. Muchas gracias.

RlaO, how's this for a response to a clingy woman:

I know that I've made a mistake.
I'm sorry our coupling did take.
But you know I love Nata,
So shouldn't you oughta
Move on with your life for chrissake?

David

R la O and David!! These additions make our little dittie quite the catchy verse!! LMAO! Aye! You know what I say about this kind of verbal dalliance? That we are blessed. Blessed to have the time, skills and freaky frivolity to put this little rhyme together!! Now. If we could just get it to Tatalicious!

Lila

David at 10:37! HHA HAHAH AHAH HAHA HEEE HEEE HEEE HEHEH!

Blessed and Naughty!

;D Lila

Oh my goodness! I learned long ago to set down the cup of tea prior to reading everyone's comments. I'm so glad the gentlemen weighed in on MariTata's low rent rendezvous. The ditty is now poetic and even more scathingly brilliant than ever. Well done everyone!!

David, isn't tomorrow the day your son arrives home? You must be bouncing off the walls.

Yes, Sylvia, he is scheduled to be on the ground in Indy at 2:15 EST. We will have an hour with him, then he will be gone for 7-10 days for a physical and evaluation for PTSD, as well as some administrative stuff.

Actually, I just got off the phone with him - he was calling from Kuwait (!). He just wanted to make sure we knew times and places for meeting him.

Gonna be one helluva Christmas ;)

David

God speed to your son, David! My daughter's flying around the country applying for residency. . .it'll be good to have her home, too! Our kids safe and home, now THAT'S the real Blessing!

Lila

David:

And here I though W.B. Yeats was a good poet.David in IN puts new verve in rhyming verse.

Loved both poems.

But most importantly, I want to express my delight that your son was able to talk to you on the phone and that you will see him TOMORROW. May you, your wife, your son and other beloved family members be held in love for that special hour. May time slow down for each of you.

With deep gratitude for your son's service and his safe return,

Elna June

I'm late to the party but wanted to add a few things.

Amy: Welcome back.

David: Safe journey to your son. Back home again in Indiana.

Now on to the TN:

LOVED Nata's dress. I thought it was so pretty. And she looked fantabulous.

I think whoever came up with the link between Blanca's names (I'm sorry I don't remember who) probably has it right. Since Hortensia's last name is in keeping with the theme. Hopefully, Anibal was raised by his grandmother.

I don't get why Alison has been introduced into the story so late in the game. I get Anibal. He's probaby there to help bring Auggie down. But why Alison?

Robey

Another thought:

Do you think Nata and Jero will remain together for the rest of the novela?

Robey

Robey, I'm hoping that Jero and Nata do remain together. Why? Because it would be so very unusual in terms of telenovela plots. I would love to see the protagonists work together to help solve the mysteries, instead of one of them doing it and "saving" the other so to speak. If the writers manage to keep Jero and Nata's relationship intact I think it would make for very interesting writing because usually the protagonists are kept apart until the very end.

In a way, the relationship of Jero and Nata is a plot within the main plot. The main reunion, based on the original plot, should be between Renata and Regina. I suspect that will be the big climax, when mother and daughter finally connect for reals.

Ha, I just re-read my comment, where I said I "suspect" the mother-daughter reunion will be the big climax. No duh!! There's no suspecting about it.

Fina's demise had better be a good one. That's all I can say.

Sylvia: It does seem like the traditional hero/heroine reconcilation at the end has been changed to the mother/daughter reunion. Like someone else mentioned before, I hope that happens before the final fade-out so we can enjoy them being mother and daughter for awhile.

Here's hoping Fina, Blanca, Auggie and even Alfie and Roberta get their just desserts.

Robey

I am so glad I decided to check on this post during lunch today, because you guys have added some real gems since yetserday.

Mike- The song is perfect.

David- Your poems put me in danger of looking crazy in front of my co-workers, they are so funny. I am so happy that you get to see your son today! Wow!

Robey- If Marina's pregnancy didn't break up Nata and Jero, I think that nothing else will. They are very solid right now. They disagree on some things, but work it out without going off the rails and deciding to call things off at the drop of a hat like so many other tn characters do. The only thing I could see happening is a kidnapping scheme on Augie's part. He almost did it during the Laz-Kari wedding. Although, I have no idea where he thought he was going to stash Nata so that he could do all the sniffing and huffing he was planning.

I also want to see some mother-daughter time before the gran final. However, Nata and Gina have been bonding even without the knowledge of their blood tie. Maybe that's the point.

Mike, I love your music for the audio portion of this fantasy scene the CME crowd has contrructed here. It is perfect. The phrase: "I'll even tell you I love you, if you want me to." just about says it all. What a fun community rant for the holidays. Maybe I;ll play it as i prepare my re-rant (aka recap) this evening. Laughing all the way...

David, I am so over joyed for your great blessing to have your son call from Kuwait to make final plans to meet up with his adoring family. Must be just a perfect week for you! Thank him for me too.

David - Enjoy your time w/your son. I could be projecting but I feel your excitement in your posts as well as our Caray mates. And your poems are too much, I'm so glad I wasn't eating or drinking when I read it.

The "tribute" to Dr. Tatas keeps growing more hysterical. And I'm w/you EJ in that I would be shocked to think she planned the pregnancy.

What great fun you guys have been having at poor Dra. Tatalicious' expense.

Although I won't accuse her of plotting the pregnancy, I firmly believe that she made no attempt to avoid it. I don't think there was even a token "¡No puede ser!" uttered when she confirmed it and there was simply a shoulder shrug and a "Well, nothing is 100%." as she discussed it with her nurse. She was just a bit too accepting of the fact.

David, thanks for sharing your son's progress with us as he returns home. This is so exciting and wonderful.

Carlos

David: Sending prayers for you and your family as you rejoice in your son's visit. God Bless all of you.

Diana

Goodgoshamighty...look at all I missed while down in Charlotte!

A return visit of Low Rent Rendez-vous, some delicious limericks and a happy homecoming for David's family.

The most beautiful poignant Christmas song there is..."I'll Be Home For Christmas"...is going through my head.

Joy to the World and especially to my CarayCaray mates.
