Plot summary: "La que no podia amar" (She who couldn't love)
I think this one is starting January 2 at 9 pm.
The story begins in Tuxtla Gutiérrez, Chiapas, México, with Ana Paula Carmona, who as a girl had to take care of her sick mother. After the death of Mariana, Ana Paula decided to study nursing so she could always help others.
Ana Paula is now about to graduate. She meets Bruno, lawyer to the fearsom Rogelio Montero. Bruno needs a nurse to take care of his ailing boss. The salary is good and Ana Paula takes the job to help her aunt Rosaura with money. Rosaura has taken care of her and her brother Miguel since they were children.
Rosaura is resentful that she lost chances for love because she was taking care of them; she wants them now to take care of her, that's why she's pretending to be sick.
Miguel's girlfriend is Dany, a lively, enthusiastic girl who tries to change his insecure character. She's Ana Paula's best friend - they studied together in nursing school.
Ana Paula doesn't know she'll be working under very difficult conditions in the hacienda 'Del Fuerte' (of the strong), an isolated, far-away place; Rogelio is a very difficult man, he hasn't gotten over the consequences of an accident that occurred when he was about to marry Vanesa, a frivolous and egotistical woman who dumped him when he was injured.
Rogelio's sister Cinthia also lives at "La hacienda Del Fuerte." She feels trapped because he won't release her part of their inheritance, forcing her to remain at his side to take care of him. In order not to be bored, in secret she gets involved with Efraín, foreman on the estate, who truly loves her; for her sake he evades Consuelo, a servant who loves him innocently and sincerely.
Also living at Del Fuerte: María, Consuelo's godmother, a kind woman who's been like a mother to Rogelio y Cinthia. She was their nanny, now she still takes care of them. The touch of happiness in this strict household is Margarito, an innocent, enchanting little boy who has no family and whom Maria protects.
Ana Paula meets Gustavo Durán, a noble, hard-working engineer who has a sick sister named Mercedes. They fall in love, but their happiness is cut short because Rogelio also falls in love with her. This love triangle has terrible consequences.
When Miguel causes a terrible accident and is about to lose a hand and go to jail for life, Rogelio saves him in exchange for Ana Paula's hand in marriage. She sacrifices herself for her brother but doesn't imagine the hell she will suffer at Rogelio's side when he discovers she loves someone else.
It's only at the end of the story that true love triumps and Ana Paula can choose freely whether to stay with her spouse or with her first love.

Like I have been saying on the other posts about this show, I got a head start and started watching this online already and for the first time was able to follow along without CCs. I guess all this watching of novelas for the last year has started to bear fruit. I also think there is something more streamlined about the plot (perhaps that was it?) or something with how clearly Ana Brenda in particular spoke, that I was able to follow along more easily just by listening. I still miss a lot of the dialog (rewatching more than once can really help with that), but so far I've managed to comprehend enough to keep on following along. It's been great.
So anyway, so far it's been a fun show and I got hooked quickly. I won't guarantee that you'll all like it (who can predict these things?) and there have been phases and plot developments that aggravated me (every novela has that, EVERY one!) but the cast is strong, the storyline is addictive, and I'm going to stick with it until the end!

Elvira- What a relief!,I thought I was the only one guilty of watching this TN before all the other Caray mates.
I encourage those who can to try and catch it or watch it on daily motion. Like Elvira said, it does have its own crazy ups and downs.
Don't want to reveal any spoilers but there is amazing acting in this one. I stopped watching 7 weeks ago so I could follow it with you guys.
As Elvira said, it is pretty easy to understand the dialogue. For someone like me who started learning Spanish with Eva Luna, this was awesome to follow. I look forward to the recaps from our amazing Caray Recappers.

Star, ah, a kindred spirit! I left a longer response to your post on the "Cast and Characters" post for this show, but I wanted to say here as well that I agree with you, this is a great show for those newer to telenovelas. I'm looking forward to following along with all my Caray buddies too! :D
Star what was your method for learning spanish while watching Eva Luna? Thanks for any help you can give me.

Anon9:03- I used to write down what was said with the help of Spanish CC, read the recaps (most of the recappers had detailed dialogue word for word).
Take your time, start learning the basics and soon enough sentences will make sense since you will be able to recognize some of the words. I always thought speaking french was sexy but novelas have changed that. I also listen to Spanish music, print the lyrics and slowly translate them.
Get in the habit of watching a novela from start to finish. Am sure the seasoned Spanish speakers here can give you better tips.

Hugo, La Que No Podia amar (aka LQNPA) is being recapped here on the Caray Caray website every night after each episode. If you go to the menu bar on the left you will see a link that says "la que no podia amar recap feed". Click on that and it will take you to the recaps.

i love mexican novelas. There is this one am more interest in, "el clon" how can i get its episodes from when it started? I didnt knw u cn learn spanish by watchn novela i want to learn that smooth language.

very wonderful hurting drama i really enjoy it especially in ana paula's, regelio's side and duran cynthia's side. it brings the reality out.
