Thank you so much UA for this delightful recap. So the Vainy one got her comeuppance! I don't feel sorry for her at all. And La Vaca, no wonder Vainy is all about herself.
So the Mentirosa was in love with Frederico! No wonder she resents the Cupcake. I bet the Mentirosa was the same then as she is now. And Fredrico did hold the Cupcakes hand a little too long, and he thought she was a friend of the Vainy one. lol.
I really wonder what the Vainy one can do to get revenge on Rohell, unless it is to have it out with the Cupcake with Sin-thia's help. It looked that way in the advances.

Does Gus already have a new job with the water conservation? I thought he showed David a badge that was for that? David looked like he was shaking in his boots.

Sin-thina and Effer, they really belong together, but Rohell will never go for that.
 

Of course we all know that it will take another hundred episodes before Federico finds out that Ana Paula is his daughter. Even if he sees the two of them side by side. This is also one piece of news Vainessa won't like.

Rogelio's temper will be put to the ultimate test when he finds out about Efrain and Sinthia. There is no way that will ever stay under wraps. If he doesn't beat the crap out of Efrain he will certainly fire his arse.

Sinthia needs to find someone else to take care of Bonita.

Miguel should make good use of his recovery time to get some smarts.

Yes, Gus is not working for David, but showed him his badge with the water commission. Meaning he now has the authority to cause David a LOT of trouble if he isn't complying with the law. Take that and smoke it David!

Sin and Effer are something else. He must be REALLY good in bed for her to moon over him and forgive him killing her horse so quickly.

By the way, the name of the horse he was saddling for her was Jamaica.
 

Thank you UA for the recap. I didn't know that they are running the shows long this week, so I missed the ending of this one. Will they run 1/2 hour long?

I was surprised that Rogelio ended his engagement with Vanessa that way. I expected something more. Something for deceitful, maybe. But it still worked for me, and now the real fun will begin.

I loved the part where they shared the icecream. So cute. Rogelio was melting as much as the icecream was.
 

And about Sin and Effer. There's nothing like angry sex.
 

I really have issues with episodes being structured this way with scenes being reduced to less than four lines of dialogue. How does anybody remember them unless they do what we do?

We may never find out what Rogelio originally planned to do before being backed into this corner with the breakup. He has to know that his own reputation is going to take a hit from this despite how declasse Vainessa behaved.

Does anyone else think that if Vainessa weren't after Rogelio she'd be playing her one-upwomanship games with Sinthia as well? Women like her never really have friends.
 

Thanks UA! Delightfully detailed as always. My DVR said nothing about the extra helping. Luckily I was watching in real time. I have to admit a bit of jealousy since you got to recap the very public humiliation of Vainy and the aftermath.

Sin-thia lost me in this one. She is obviously a very weak person. Effer abuses her beloved horse and kills it, and all it takes is Effer being physically forceful for her to get over it and take him back as a lover? Please! I find them rather gross as a couple - mainly because Effer is so sleazy and Sin-thia is so needy with him.

Otherwise this pretty much played out as expected except for the very ugly decorations at the "engagement" party.

Audrey, I completely agree about Sinthia and Efrain.

Sinthia doesn't have access to the right kind of men. Or maybe she isn't turned on by them. Efrain is forbidden fruit, among other things. Even if he can whistle through the wheat fields like nobody else she ever knew, he's a brute. He's less attractive than David, gives her nothing except orgasms, and could never be accepted in Sinthia's social circle.

Sinthia needs to realize she's not 20 anymore.
 

Loved this recap UA. I LOLed through much of it. I guess in the end, Rog didn't want to leave Vainessa standing at the altar. He did try to talk to her in private and her assuming he was going to give her an engagement brought about her own humiliation.

Rog is falling for our cupcake. I loved the ice cream scene. The look on Rog's face was so cute.

Looks like Cinthia tries to spoil Rog's plans to marry AP by showing her the invites that he was going to marry Vainessa.

Looking forward to tonight's show.
 

Suck it, David! THat was a good scene for Gustavo. He's going to grow into a fine galan.

Do they not have morning breath in Mexico? WHat's with all this nookie first thing in the am, first with David and then with Efrain? I know it's suppossed to look romantic, but all I can think is "Yuck".

So if Fredie still has to do business with Rogelio, and Fredie wanted to teach Vanessa the business, couldn't he help her by making her the business contact with Rogelio? She's going to find a way to get even for his getting even somehow. Might as well get her started on making the whole hacienda miserable.

UA, thanks for the excellent recap. Straight to the point, with a nice side of snark. Liked the title, since I was thinking along the same lines. Vainessa really dug that pit for herself.

Rog's facial expressions were great as he showed his discomfort. Also loved the ice cream scene and how AP showed him simple joys are more important than diamonds.

I was actually impress with Gus and see hopes for him down the road. He has nobility and smarts as well as eyelashes!

Also enjoying the fact that Fed and Vainessa have continuing ties to Rog, due to the blood relationship and the business contract. Life won't be simple for AP and Rog, but if they stock up on enough ice cream and smouldering glances, they might have a chance.

I was hoping for a wedding with a selection of two possible brides both decked out in white. Drat.

I was once again intrigued by Rogelio's hat.

In the jewelry store the brim was stiff and crisply, rather tightly rolled.

A few minutes later on the sidewalk as they strolled with her ice cream the brim was flattened out and droopy looking.

Rohell admits that Fed is a nice, honest guy. His only sin is being an indulgent father. So why try to ruin him financially (if he breaks the contract)? Why not just humiliate Vain and be done with it? This is why I don't think he's in the clear for doing something underhanded to get Bruno's family's lands.

I really wonder what traps he put into that contract that AP so stupidly didn't read?

I think Tia MentiRosa is mentiring about Federico crushing on her. My guess is she aimed for him but he ignored her.

I think Rogelio's innocent ice cream stroll with Ana Paula softened his heart a bit. I was sure he was going to keep up the wedding scam with Vainessa till the very end. Maybe he realized since he doesn't love Vainessa anymore, what she did to him no longer matters.

Sin-thia's got a crazy animal thing with Efrain. Probably the only thing that can pour cold water on it is Rogelio finding out.
 

I'm sure that the contract contains several "In the event that..." phrases which demand something other than she expects. I would love it if one or more of them would apply to MentiRosa.

If Rogelio is weakening, perhaps AP can persuade him to let Sinthia take a serious vacation in Europe, which would get her away from Efrain.

Vainessa isn't intelligent enough to get back at Rogelio on the business level... unless Bruno helps her. She is more likely to get personal. It's going to get very ugly.

When I saw this sans CCs, I missed a few things (as always)! I didn't know that Efrian actually rode Sin-thia's horse TO DEATH. I thought it was something like the horse got some bad water or something? Just got sick? This is so much worse. I cannot believe Sinthia for taking him back so soon.

And until recently I didn't get the part about the millions forfeited in the contract between Fed and Rohell. With this, I am, surprisingly, with Rohell. The way I recall it, Rohell was willing to sign a contract just straight out. No clauses. He was willing to do it before the wedding that he knew they'd never have. Fed was the one that wanted the penalty clause. He figured that Rohell might try to bail again on the contract or something and he wanted to protect his butt. Rohell says okay.

So it turns out that Fed wants to bail. Rohell is thinking, "Fair's fair." In an episode I recapped last week, he made a point of telling Vainessa how difficult it was for him to keep on doing business with her father after she dumped him. But he did it. So I guess he doesn't see why it can't work the other way, and the clause was not even his idea.

I do think that no matter what--no matter WHAT--he should have NEVER made his "dumping" speech public like that. So Vainessa was setting herself up by expecting him to tell everyone there what he wanted to say. So what. He should have told the whole crowd that it's a misunderstanding or just make up some BS excuse. Sure, Vainessa would have been embarrassed because she had assumed he was giving her an engagement ring, but that couldn't be helped. To go ahead and say what he did in front of the whole crowd was an extra dollop of douchebaggery. (Though I agree with others here, not nearly as douchebaggy as actually standing her up at the altar or something.)

And speaking of douchebaggery, I just couldn't believe that he thinks that Sinthia is going to give up and be by his side forever. Dream on, brother. On the other hand, I was relieved to hear that he's instructed Bruno to ensure that poor Miguel never spends another moment in prison. I think Rohell's feelings of guilt really kicked in big time when he realized how bad off poor sad sack Miguel had it.

I also loved the ice cream scene. I think Rohell is starting to get a taste of what a "real life" feels like again. He hasn't had one for so long. Bless his little bitter, black, douchebaggy heart! LOL.

I have more thoughts about this episode but can't think of them now! Things are picking up finally!

I think what happened to the horse is that after she was ridden hard, she developed colic, which is serious in a horse and can kill it.

I agree that Bruno will likely team up with Vanessa to ruin Rogelio. He wants his land back and they both want revenge.

It was Federico who decided there should be an expensive penalty for breaking the contract. I guess he was trying to make sure Rogelio didn't back out of the contract. Rogelio hesitated before agreeing to that condition.

Tia MentiRosa said something like - she thought she had a "real chance" with Federico before her sister got in the way. I interpreted it as Rosaura had some unrealistic fantasies about "conquistaring" her boss and becoming his wife (after getting him to divorce his current one). So much bitterness. Not only did Mariana "steal" her chance to become Mrs. Bigshot, but she didn't even take advantage of the situation properly!!!! LOL!

I was a little surprised at the get even episode, thought it would be closer to wedding day. And Vanesa is going to get even, she did that 7 years ago.

This episode was so important because it explains why Miguel is a nitwit, and why MentiRosa hates Ana Paula. WHICH SHE DOES. Although, with MentiRosa’s lack of character I doubt if it would make much difference.
I was disappointed that Rohell didn’t jilt Vainessa right at the wedding. I don't know why, it would have been more satisfying.
I thought the scene with Gus showing David his badge, “dude, I’m your worst nightmare!” was pretty cool.
 

But Rohell KNEW he was just playing with Vain and had no intention of marrying her. So he KNEW that Fed would be hell a mad and not want to do biz with him very shortly. Meaning, he knew Fed was soon going to have to pay millions or be forced to do biz with a man who had just led his daughter on and humiliated her. Doesn't matter if it was Fed's idea. Rohell went into this contract in bad faith.
 

I get what you're saying, Vivi. (And yes, Rohell is of course a douchebag for even planning the "humiliate Vainessa" scheme--he should have just married Paula and that would have been enough "revenge" for the vain Vainessa to digest.) But I still can't fault Rohell too much for this one. The clause wasn't his idea; Fed wanted to cover his butt by adding it. How could Fed not anticipate that it could be used the other way? He must know that Rohell is a resentful douchebag.

Furthermore, he went through something similar (in a way worse) because his distress and his whole situation after Vainessa dumped him was a hundred times worse than Vainessa's distress now. But he sucked it up when he was going through the worst time of his life and kept on doing business anyway.
 

Why would I not be surprised at MentiRosa lying to herself about Federico? Women who marry for money are despicable creatures. This is no better than prostitution.

It's interesting that Ana Paula marries Rogelio to help a brother who can't help himself and an aunt who doesn't deserve it and who refuses to take further advantage of Rogelio's wealth. Most women would sell their souls to have a man like this give them carte blanche in a jewelry store. At least for a full diamond parure for the wedding...

Anyone care to speculate on what the sleeping arrangements will be after the wedding?
 

I guess I just don't see what RoHell has gained by making Fed his enemy. Fed still respected Rohell, even when Rohell didn't want to renew the contract. Why not just leave it at that? So now he either continues to do biz with Vain's family, which he didn't want to do, or he forces a man whom he respects and who once respected him to bankrupt himself to get out of the contact. And why not now just say, OK, I was an a**hole. Let's just both walk away from this contract and forget about it? What did Fed ever do to him to deserve this?
 

Fed's just a nice guy with a bitch of a daughter. I still think she'll use the business to find a way to worm her way into Rogelio's life for no reason but to make him and Cupcake suffer. Think how peeved she's going to be when she finds out her nemesis is her sister, and that (hopefully) her dad likes the new sister better.

I agree that a man who was less of a resentful douchebag would have said, "Forget about it, Fed." A man who was less of a douchebag would have never jilted Vainessa in the first place; he would have made a big spectacle of marrying Paula and rubbed Vainessa's nose in it that way. Still sweet revenge, but without the extra venom.

But looking at it from another angle for a moment, maybe Fed should have thought about how Rohell felt after Vain dumped Rohell, and spared Rohell some pain. But Fed couldn't afford to lose the contract and even when he learned that Rohell wanted to not renew the contract (for the same reasons that Fed wants to break the contract now), he was worried and hoped that Rohell would reconsider.

I like Fed a lot, but he should put himself in Rohell's bitter, angry shoes for a moment there.

As it is now, Fed isn't going to be bankrupted; he'll have to do business with Rohell, the way that Rohell had to do business with Fed after his accident. Rohell survived doing it and I guess Fed will as well. I guess Rohell figures that it works both ways. Again, Rohell sucked it up and fulfilled the contract (even though there was no penalty clause in that one) and so he expects no less from Fed.
 

Federico is now collateral damage.

I don't think Rogelio wanted to make him suffer, but he should have thought about how to handle the fallout from dumping Vainessa's ass. He had to know that there would be a business consequence. Here's hoping he has a backup plan.

However, something tells me that he will get close to losing everything somewhere down the line and the person who will suffer the most will be MentiRosa.

One other detail is that the poor little kid ratted out Efrian and the horse episode to Sin. I hope it doesn't get traced back to Efrain.
