Scheduling alert for LQNPA Monday, Tuesday (and maybe the rest of the week)?

Hello everyone, based on a preview for a show on Univision, it looks like La que no podía amar is going to end late (and maybe start early?) on Monday (TONIGHT), as well as Tuesday 1-31-12, and I'd assume that this screwed up schedule might apply to the rest of the week. Make sure to set your recorders for 30 minutes over (just to be sure!) for a while, so you don't miss anything this week! (Tonight the episode went 15 minutes over, but last week it went a little longer than that; it was arbitrary. I'd advise setting your timers at least 20 minutes over and 5 minutes early, just to be on the safe side.)

While I'm here, here are some screenshots from an interview with Jorge Salinas on Primer Impacto today. Apparently it was an exclusive. I did a video capture of the whole thing but the recording kept on dropping out. Tomorrow apparently they're going to interview Ana Brenda.

Rogelio walks!
Salinas seems fond of Rogelio.

UPDATE: MONDAY'S (Tonight's) EPISODE IS OVERTIME TOO! FAIR WARNING!!!!!

Al Diablo con Looneyvision.

I'm not kidding! AAAAAAANDDDDDD, it's going overtime tonight. I know when this episode is supposed to end, and it's supposed to end NOW and it's not.

Whiskey Tango Foxtrot.

Yeah, I started my recap on Sunday (watching online) What a waste of my time.

Grrrr!!!!!!!!!!! It's really starting to p!$$ me off that I can't plan my evening a little better. I'm usually in bed by 9.

I hate Looneyvision.

I'm sooooo glad that I didn't start my recap early (from a downloaded episode) as well. I feel your pain!

This blows all my screencapping plans to el diablo; however, if I get a later episode (which I certainly will), there are plenty of juicy screencapping opportunities (just different ones). Ah well.

I guess I pretty much have to go back to my watch and take notes method. Which always leads to sort of half-arsed recaps from me. *sigh* I just can't do recaps ahead of time with this crazy scheduling. It ends up being such a waste of time. And a waste of some pretty good snark if I may say so. lol

It looks like you'll have the last half of Cap 24 and then you can do all of Cap 25. Talk about last minute changes!

If they continue with this, I will do all of episode 26 and half of episode 27. I think?

I like to try and keep up with what episode we're on. Maybe one day they will go back to normal scheduling.

We can only live in hope, Sara, live in hope! LOL!

Sara and Elvira:

You have all my sympathies in dealing with the scheduling by los locos at Univision.

Sending some recapper solidarity,

EJ

What? Is it local because my scheduling doesn't indicated any change. It's only 7:50 here so I guess I'll find out. I don't usually watch LQNPA but it still pi$$es me off. My sympathies LQNPA fans, what a burn. Why does Uni do this? We just got Una Familia back to one-hour episodes. Sheesh.

The scheduling doesn't usually show it. It didn't last week when they did this. You just have to cover yourself by setting your timers WAAAAAY over.

I'm guessing that the episodes won't start early (since we have El Talisman), but last week they did sometimes. Don't take any chances, everybody!

My DVR schedule last week NEVER showed the 30 minute overage. It didn't show it tonight or for tomorrow either. Rat finks! A pox on them! I had high hopes that all would be back to normal this week.

Surely this is all somehow the fault of Don Francisco or La Rosa de Guadalupe? lol

Whatever the reason, it is very unprofessional. Not to mention annoying as heck.

Thanks for the heads up Elvira. How long is Uni going to do this? EL Talisman started and ended on time but they keep extending our show over. I know it's doing well in the ratings but this is a bit much.

Elvira, I loved your "whisky tango foxtrot" too funny!!!

Thanks for the heads up.. I'm getting confused with it starting early & ending late, my DVR isn't catching it. plus
Dish network here doesn't even have Talisman on their listing! They show Familia as 2 hours long so I'm taping it all & keeping my fingers crossed! WTF indeed

Are they also cutting stuff to move ahead or just playing more into each subsequent episode. (sorry my question doesn't seem so clear but I don't know how else to phrase it)

Audrey

Maybe I understand the question? Last night they ended it at a kind of "meh" moment (Group snuggle.)

IMNSHO, if they had ended it where they were supposed to last night (Right after Rohell said he wouldn't marry Vainy), more folks would have tuned in today. You know, leave 'em hanging so they'll come back.

I think that Univision can be expected to do this for much of this month because of February sweeps and because Telemundo started a new novela at 10PM. They are determined to maintain their supremacy and they currently have a novela with a star who can do that for them.

I'm sorry to report this, but if I were employed now the reps there would probably not be informed about this by management and would not be able to confirm or deny my speculation. This network is paranoid about information leaks.

Anyway it's time for me to replay last night's episode to recap it for you guys. While these extended episodes are a pain for this procedure I'd rather get more of LQNPA than have to endure the shows that follow it. See you later.

Hi everyone,

Did anyone else have cc's in english on El Talisman, and LQNPA? or was it just the Eastcoast

For the most part I had them. There were 10-15 minutes chunks where I didn't.

I got EngCCs for most of LQNPA. There were a few scenes where they dropped out but for most of the show they were there. As for El Talisman, I had the Spanish CCs on for most of the show, but switched over to English CCs at the end (in preparation for LQNPA, which I view in EngCCs since I've already "paid my dues" by listening to it sans CCs). They worked fine as well.

I often find that the first 5 minutes or so of LQNPA can have sluggish EngCCs but they finally kick in. Some episodes never do, however.

Urban, I think you're probably right about Univision playing with is with the scheduling for a while. At least we recappers can kind of know what to expect, for the short term. But I'm not going to start to "precap" my night until after tonight's episode, just in case. I don't trust Univision!

Oh, to answer Audrey's question, as far as I can tell they're not cutting anything out (editing the episodes to be shorter). I think they just have less ads or less filler crap in there (like promos for other shows). All I know is that where Cap 23 SHOULD have ended (where Rogelio drops the bomb to Vainessa) was at about 50-55 minutes after the hour and it should have been at the top of the hour (or at 58 minutes). So they were "compressing" things to make Cap 23 end "early" and cram in the first half of Cap 24. As far as I could see, no scenes were missing.

Oops - looks like we did miss some! I actually saw some credits scrolling but cut short. Then it looked like our station stomped on the previews like they have been doing lately, and so I thought it was over after the Vainessa gets told moment. So I did turn the TV off. Aaargh!

Audrey

FWIW - If you search on www.dailymotion.com for LQNPA capitulo 24 or whatever, you'll find them. I prefer dailymotion to tvynovelas site because fewer dangerous and obnoxious ads (it seems).

I don't get CC3 on my TV, but I did notice that while I was watching El Talisman the occasional English word would pop up amongst the spotty and incomplete Spanish CCs. They were words like "all", and "everything", and "someone". So basically no help at all. Actually the dialogue was pretty easy to understand for the most part. Definitely not written by anyone aspiring to be the bard.

So where is the recap. I come to this site every Monday thru Friday morning to get my LQNPA fix since I don't speak Spanish (blame mi mama she didn't want me discriminated against lol) but I love Jorge he looks like my husband so I have to watch but I need translation since I can't figure out the cc thing on my high def :( and I won'y ask my husband how to fix it since he thinks I'm fluent because of my maiden last name lol so please where are they!!! I got school soon and I need to see this before I go otherwise te day is crap. And omg Friday recap was incredible I read along while watching yesterday morning so good job keep it up.

UA is working on the recap, Honnah, don't despair!

If you have HDTV, the CCs should be in the preferences of your HD receiver software. (Press the "Menu" on the remote and look around.) Do you have Dish Network? I could probably show you how to access them. (Providing you have the same kind of device that I do.)

I'm so sorry I get pushie when I can't get my sexy Rogelio fix ummm love him and his personality yeah in all his duchbag glory lol. And no I have xfinity it's so annoying they put El Talisman on ondemand but not LQNPA I'm so mad about it grrrrr but that's fine menu you say hmmm let me try that when I get home from school in a few hours.

LOL, I understand, Honnah!

Since you don't have Dish Network, I can't say for sure that your CCs will be in the same place as mine. But I'm pretty sure that with HD, it's the service provider (like Dish Network, etc) who gives you the CCs, and it's not fed through the TV (like it is with non-HD, aka SD, Standard Definition). So you have to find out how your cable/satellite service gives you CCs.

For fellow recappers out there: Out of curiosity I looked at where yesterday's episode ended, and it looks like it's a little over a third into Cap 24, so not quite halfway through. Not sure how that is going to affect us doing recaps for the rest of the week. I don't think that they are cutting out scenes as I didn't notice any glaring omissions, but it's not like I know each episode by heart. (However, some of these episodes I have seen more than once, in hopes of deciphering what the heck they are saying! My Spanish listening skills still are not up to par.)

But who knows. I would find it odd if Univision decided to chop the shows up to make them "fit" with their weird scheduling, especially when things are getting kind of juicy, what with the upcoming wedding and stuff.

FYI, I get my episode downloads from a Russian forum. I don't know if any malware or anything pops up on their site (I have a Mac) but it seems pretty "clean" to me. Link: MundoLatino.ru

Univision doesn't typically edit for time, so I don't think we'll ever miss anything significant in their showings. They do censor for nudity, however, as I discovered in FELS, but that doesn't do anything to the content of the episode.

I believe there were fewer commercial breaks last night, so you wouldn't have missed anything.
