Familia 2/28: What are we WATCHING?
As for that weird scene in the bar, Mom says it's (probably Arath de la Torre/Pancho) dressed up as Pedro Infante. That makes sense to me since during one Capitulo Chela visits Pedro Infante's grave along with many other fans, and talks to Pedro's real-life daughter.
That Mariachi scene was weird but funny with Pancho, Chato, Chacho and Enzzo. I liked them hanging out. Their getting drunk was funny, trying to drown their broken hearts, that is Pancho and Enzzo with tequila.
Mamazon was weird, I wonder if she is pyschotic. If she doesn't remember what she did, she must have had a break with reality.
Pina's sister and BIL were in Brussels with Melli because of her BIL'S business. They had an accident and Melli is ok, but YuYu and her husband were hurt. Since Pina is the only relative that Melli has, that is why she is going to Brussels.
I didn't like what Pina did with Freddy and Ana, going and running to Pancho. I think though when she saw how Pancho talked to Ana she felt bad.
When Elena and Christan were in the bar, it looked like someone was watching them. I wonder if their drinks were drugged with GHB. They sure acted like it once they were in that room. Did Christan have a heart attack or hit his head on the candleholder? I couldn't really tell. I know Tomas picked it up, wiped it off and put it back.
That kiss with Chela and Pancho was way awkward. I think they both realized it too. I think they know they made a mistake. Temo when he overheard them talking took it the wrong way and asked them if they spent the night together. At least I think that is what Temo said.
That Mike is just gross. Can't stand him.
I did like the Mariachi music. Reminded me of DA. They did a lot of this type of music in that.
And thank you for the recap, Ezra! Your title says it all. A lot of weirdness all at once. I think the writers and director were on a bender.
Ayiyi, Tom is getting himself into a huge mess. What exactly is he going to do? I can't believe that hotel wouldn't have security cameras around, catching people who come and go. Someone was definitely watching Cris and Elena in the restaurant. Was it his wife?
The drunk guys were funny. I think Enzo shares my low opinion of Chato. It looked like Chacho was sober, though...good thing, having one of them drive drunk would have been behavior unbecoming good guys.
Does Violeta buy her earrings from the same place Antonio on ElTal gets his belt buckles?
The logo pillows are multiplying like bunnies.
Does Violeta live in a building called "Parking Garage"?
I think either Violetta has a twin no one realizes is around or she has a split personality.
The Elena Awakens to Corpse plotline is surprising and kind of heavy. Can't wait to see where this goes.
That weird scene with the remote camera & the girl doing her martial arts moves (in live action AND animation) was bizarre. I noticed a few days ago a female character in the opening credits that ai couldn't identify. I think it was this purple clad ninja who talks to Napoleon via remote camera. If so this may be a major new plot line starting.
Yeah, someone was definitely watching Elena & Cristian when they were in the bar. The camera effect to show that they were drugged was indeed cheesy. At first I thought that Cristian had just had a heart attack -- but then Elena passed out too. But to wake up in the morning with Cristian lying in a pool of blood next to a heavy candlestick. Yowza. Didn't see that coming. Tomás is sure to get charged with this murder.
Interesting conversation Elena & Cristian were having just before they passed out. After all her railing against Pancho there she was telling Cristian that Pancho is "buena onda" and will give Cristian his job back. She is so two faced.
I loved your description of the Pancho/Chela kiss, Ezra.
I don't agree.. I'm glad that Rebe finally listened to Arnold. He's been trying to tell her for days that she was leaving the door open for Chela. From the previews it looks as though she's about to find out about the kiss. I suppose that will send her off into the arms of greasy, growly Mike.
"Kind of a damp rag but sweet".
Yep, Enzzo is being a little too understanding and noble, but we'll trust that in the end Chela will be all his.
Julia...yeah, I was waiting to hear someone comment on those super-sized earrings Mamazota wears. Guess they're trying to balance out that amazing height plus those Simonized breasts she's sporting.
Last night was certainly an interesting twist on the old "dead hooker in hotel room" cliche.
One thing I didn't mention in that off-the-cuff recap yesterday was that Pina agreed to let Celeste be her assistant.
Looking back, I'm not 100% sure if Pancho fired Elena. I think he did, but maybe someone else has a more reliable opinion?
What happened? My fabulous TN, gone down the drain. This is what happens on telemundo TN's - now Univision? Ugghhh then they are wasting precious time on Elena, why? I'm sure she's going to leave her brother hanging on this.
What does this mean it's terrible time week, no baby for Moni (a good thing), we find out the mom truly is bipolar as Enzzo has told Moni many times and has to stay medicated, so if she's on meds why is she drinking.
Julia lol They do show Parking Garage everytime they show Mamazon's building. And those multiplying pillows.
Though I do think they started laying the groundwork for the extension quite a while ago (maybe as a "just in case" precaution) - for example, Rebeca first mentioned Mike ages ago. I didn't think we were ever going to meet him. But now he's here. Ugh.
Mike sounded SO pretentious at dinner with Rebeca. I can't stand him.
Ez - "The singer throws his sombrero and Chato catches it, which I guess means that he'll be the next to get married." LOL!! Except I think Chato needs to scale back on weddings for a while.
mamuca - ridiculous, clueless, clownish (can be either adjective or noun)
guaruras - bodyguards or hitmen
a todo mecate - really freaking awesome
ir de juerga - to go on a binge, paint the town red
arrancones - drag racing
fufurufu - snobby, stuck-up person
ir de farra - to go out partying
de la greña - fighting, hair-pulling
armarse la gorda - to start a brawl
capciosa - artful, cunning
Familia was going along smoothly, now they keep adding sub-plots, and sub-sub-plots nearly every day. The show seems to have lost its way and is just meandering every which way.
Why on earth did Rebe go to dinner with the OrangeMan???
Hope Yuyu is okay. She and Pina were so funny together.
Glad I missed the Pancho-Chela kiss. From the previews, it sounds like Reba is going to think they did more than kiss.
ITA with the theory that somebody drugged Chris and Elena and then offed Christian. Maybe it's his wife, although why a woman with kids would do such a thing is beyond me. Tomas and Elena, as usual, act without thinking. Pobre de Tomas, I think I know where he's headed.
Julia, great vocab list amiga! It's the one thing about this episode that brought a smile to my face. As for everything else, I'm more or less in a state of confusion.
