Abismo de pasión #29 4/19/12: You dropped a bomb on me, baby.

Title in honor of Marta’s theme and today’s general bombery. Heck, even El Talisman joined the fun with a car bomb.

Let’s take up where Marta left us last night...

Damian drops the bomb on Flo, he’s staying in La Ermita. Flo’s got fire in her eyes. He says all this time he refused to come back to the family biz to bug Alfamom and to please Flo, but the truth is that his heart is with the family biz. He needs to stay for him, and Flo needs to do what’s right for her. (Hint to Flo, this is a kiss-off.)

Elisa locks up for the night and we hear the rumble of Paolo’s motorcycle. Unkahunk gets in Elisa’s face to plead his case. Doesn’t matter to him about her family fued with Los Hatfield, (cue sleazy music) what matters to him is her. Paloma arrives to save the day. Elisa grabs her, they have to walk each other home, “Adios Paolo!”  (Hint to Paolo, this is a kiss-off.)

Padre and Gael are enjoying their dinner when there is a knock on the door. Surprise! It’s Irritating Ingrid with a floppy cake of thanks. Padre shoots dagger eyes at her. Ingrid smiles triumphantly. Gael is blissfully clueless, and comments on the nice, friendly lady. Padre’s not in the mood for cake.

Useless Vicente gets home from his first day at work and gripes to mom. Dad is just a peon like the others, not like the studly bossman Gabino. Gabino gives orders (true), they are obeyed (true), and he is respected (uh, nope). UV wants to grow up to be just like Gabino. Antonia está freaqueando and tells UV to stay away from Gabino.

Elisa and Paloma discuss the possible Elisa/Damian pairing. Elisa resists, fear of falling in love is not the same as loving, she says. Paloma calls bulls**t on this and advises Elisa to go for it. Face him and fight for him. Elisa says she’s afraid, not to mention he’s engaged to his Florencia. Paloma scoffs, snip snip snip and cut her right out! Dang, I’m liking Paloma more every day.

The girls are talking about visiting Gael just as Ramona and mule clop up. Ramona advises Elisa not to fight her destiny, and for the record, she’s not the only one trying to resist the inevitable. Hmmmm...

Paloma decides to hang with Elisa a little longer, and they visit Gael so Elisa can give him the good news about her tierras. He’s happy-Padre-level excited and is sure this will improve Assgusto’s economic situation. They talk about when Elisa will break the news to her papa. Gael takes Elisa’s hands and says he’d give his life for her. Poor Paloma is stricken and rushes from the room.

Elisa tries to comfort Paloma, who says she feels like a third wheel (mal tercio). Elisa then tells Gael she can’t believe he’s such a dumba$$,

Blanca is still on her Kamikaze mission, now at Casa Castañon to talk to Assgusto without Orangina listening in. Lolita manages to get Assgusto out of the bedroom and Orangina’s prying ears by lying that Gael is at the door. Blanca tells him he must come to her house so she and Lucio can talk to him. Pop goes the Sleazel! Orangina demands to know why Blanca is there instead of Gael, and she would love to know why Blanca wants to see Assgusto without shades of orange around him. “Hipocrite! Phony!” accuses Blanca.

Orangina acts miffed, how dare Blanca insult her? Blanca says it’s merely the truth, Orangina has no morals or decency. Blanca wastes all sort of time waxing about the wonderful Estefania, the great love of Assgusto’s life, and how the A$$ has never cracked a smiled since she died. Carmeany is the exact opposite, blah blah blah. Assgusto wants Blanca to explain herself. (So do we!! Spill it now! Save yourself!) Alas, Blanca says all will be revealed tomorrow when Assgusto shows up at her casa solo because his woman is not invited. Aaargh, that was a helluva speech Blanca, but I fear it will be your last.

Over at the procesadora Gabino and another scumbag drool over Irritating Ingrid, who is, for some reason, posing seductively against a tree on this dark night. Gabino gives her a funny look. Does he recognize her?

Orangina tries to do damage control but Assgusto tells her to shut it, he doesn’t want to discuss the subject. She gets bug-eyed crazy and insane-looking, and gushes she’s got great news, she got her test results, she’s fine and all is well with the world. (Only Carmeany can look like an ax-murderer while at the same time spewing “good news”.) Assgusto wants to see the results. Oopsie, she got rid of them, sorry. He just gazes at her with his usual ugly gape-jawed look of disinterest.

Blanca gets home and gives sleeping Lucio a kiss. When she leaves his eyes pop open and he scowls, the cranky old faker.

It’s a beautiful new morning in La Ermita and there is a knock on Irritating I’s door. The Padre has hunted her down and wants to talk to her. She says she has every right to visit HER son. Padre asks if she is there for any reason other than HIS Gael? Sorry, but God forgive him, he doesn’t believe she has either repentance or love for a son she doesn’t even know. She doesn’t care what he thinks, she’s sticking around La Ermita to earn the affection of her son. She’ll do honest work, whatever, but she’s not leaving. “Good luck with that,” he warns, “because you’re going to need it.” Great scene! But what’s with her hair and why is she sporting the orthodox peyos look? It’s very distracting.

Over at Hacienda Harangue-o Flor tells Fina that Dam has decided to take the reins at La Pro Ce Sa Do Ra and frankly she’s not happy about it. Fina says she understands but this is one of those times when a woman should show her full love and support to the man she loves. Flor sweetly smirks. Curses, foiled again!

Damian wakes Lucio with a morning visit. He’s come to ask Lucio’s advice. He’s going to put himself in charge of the procesadora (happy happy joy joy!!) and he needs Lucio to come back. Dam’s been gone so long he doesn’t even know how it all works. Lucio gets glum and says he appreciates the offer but he doesn’t think it’s a good idea, that pesky Gabino thing and all. Dam urges and Lucio agrees to at least think about it.

Dam asks Lucio about his injury. He didn’t really bump into furniture did he? It was Gabino who hurt him because Lucio was defending Elisa, right? Was Elisa flirting with Gabino? “¿QUE? POR SUPUESTO QUE NO!“ rages Lucio,“That’s the stupidest thing I’ve heard in my entire life!” OK, says Dam, gotta dash, think about the job.

Blanca’s glad Elisa came to work early because she (Blanca) has a mid-day appointment. Elisa tells Blanca she can no longer work for her, not for a bad reason but because very soon she’s going to grow habaneros on her mama’s tierras. Oh joy, the happy music plays and Blanca is thrilled. It’s the best news she’s heard in forever. But why did Elisa decide to do this? Elisa says Stef loved those tierras and had high hopes for the habaneros. Gael convinced her that dad is driving the family biz into the ground and she, Elisa, is going to realize her mama’s dreams. They have sweet hugs and Elisa says Blanca has been like a mother to her and always there for her. Blanca says Elisa has been like her daughter, she and Lucio have been her whole life. Blanca cryptically says that starting today Elisa’s life will be very different, and for the better. More kisses, hugs and way too many anvils.

Useless Vicente lounges around the packing boxes enjoying a soda when dad walks up and rips on him for being lazy. Braulio says one of their grinding machines is busted and he doesn’t need any more problems. Gabino strides up and says he’s not paying Braulio to talk to his son, especially when one of the machines is broken. Production has stopped and it’s all Braulio’s fault! Brau runs after Gab and complains since Gab won’t stock spare parts (refacciones) then how is it Brau’s fault? Gab says fix it now or you’re out on the street with Maru. Speaking of whom, she surprises them by showing up, saying she’s there by orders of the boss. What boss? “The son who is sitting in Don Rosendo’s office, that’s who,” she smiles, “and he’s waiting for you.” Maru and Braulio share looks of delight at Gabino’s discomfort.

In the Principal’s office: Dam drops the bomb on Gabino that starting today he, Damian, is in charge of the procesadora. Plans have changed. Gabino shuffles his feet while assessing his role in all this. “Ummm...welcome back I guess, and I’m at your service because that seems to be my only choice right now.”  Dam announces that very likely Don Lucio will return and if so he’ll be Dam’s right hand man, not Gabino. No, he’s not firing Gabino, only telling him that he must show respect to Lucio. And if he can’t do that, or prefers not to work at La Anita, then he can look for work elsewhere.

The scary male chanting in the background tells us Gabino is not pleased. He says he is a professional and won’t let his conflicts with Lucio get in the way of his work. Fina stands in the doorway and hears Dam’s final warning. “The tiniest problem between you and Lucio and you’re out on the street.” Fina strides in. “You heard my son’s conditions,” barks the Alphabitch. Then she hugs Dam and makes him sit in dad’s chair so she can admire the look.

Back at Blanca’s Casa de Modas there is a knock on the door. It’s pretty Paloma and she’s come to apologize for last night. Elisa’s not in the mood, she’s busy. Blanca softly scolds, talk to your friend. OK, agrees Elisa, she’ll go with Paloma and come back later to help Blanca.

Agent Orange stands in her gloomy house bitterly recalling Blanca’s words of last night. She vows to find out what Blanca wants, she must know something. Assgusto comes home so hot and tired he doesn’t even notice those swollen orange bazonga’s that are taking up the room. He says they’ve got economic problems. She says, like always, they’ll figure something out. Go right ahead, he snarls, but no more hare-brained schemes with Gabino about them buying our habaneros! Oooh, Orange Crush.

Gabino is in a rage. He visits Horacio at the stable and says he needs a very special favor that requires Horacio’s particular skill and he’s ready to pay for it. Horacio says no thanks, he knows all about Gabino’s special requests. Gabino smashes him up against the stable bars and says Horacio will do what he asks! Horacio says he came to La Ermita to straighten out his life, to change. Gabino doesn’t care, Horacio is going to do what he says or the Campeche police will know where to find him.

Paloma and Elisa make up. Elisa says Paloma doesn’t have the right to treat her that way, it’s not her fault what Gael says to her. She is Paloma’s amiga, not enemiga. Hugs and promises to never let a man come between them. Sisters and friends forever? Great, lets celebrate with coconut ice cream! Sounds good to me, wish I had some.

Lucio walks down the street looking quite spiffy. He passes someone and says hello. The someone is Horacio, head down. He peers up through his mop of hair and discreetly sets off after Lucio. (Threatening music.)

The workers are gathered a La Anita. Damian walks into the factory and they break out into applause for the new boss. Gabino yawns.

Lucio goes to the Casa de Modas, changes his mind and turns away, changes his mind again and goes in. Yay! Horacio lurks outside. Boo! Blanca is surprised to see him after the way he has been treating her with such indifference. He says he needs to talk to her. She says she also has something very important to tell him. Lucio first, Dam wants him to come back to work at the procesadora. She’s not sure it’s a good idea, what with his age and difficulties with Gabino. But whatever he decides he has her full support. Big hugs and lots of te amos. He says now it’s her turn to talk. Does she tell him? NOOOO darn it! She tells him to go back to the house, Fina and Assgusto are coming for a visit, and all will be revealed. Now run along and let them in. He thanks her one last time for her love, support, and for being his woman.

Assgusto ties up his horse outside Blanca’s house. He sees Fina parked outside and asks ¿Qué hace esto aquí?

The Hulk is still lurking outside Blanca’s Casa de Incendiary Materials. People walk by and he hides his face, thus he does not see Lucio leave the building. When the coast is clear he lights a molotov cocktail, throws it into the Casa de BBQ  and locks the door from the outside. He leans against the building, sighs unhappily, and walks away. Dude, you are so dead to me. I don’t care if you are Armando Araiza.

Seconds later Elisa is returning to work, she hears Blanca yell Lucio’s name and sees a fireball explode out the window. Bye bye Blanca.

Snarking aside I am TOTALLY BUMMED OUT and PITHED OFF about this turn of events.  And...it looks like Cynderella gets the gnashing of teeth episode tomorrow. Tag, you’re it, amiga.

Avances: Damian comforts Elisa. Florencia pouts.

Stuff we learned in this episode:

Gabino is still cutting corners at La Anita. I hope Damian orders a full audit to see what's going on.

Loved the way Maru came to work at sat down like nothing happened.

Sylvia:This is a GREAT recap. Really top notch.

But I hated the ending of this capitulo. Arghh! Writers, was it really necessary to kill one more person on Team Elisa? The girl needs all the friends she can get. Now Horacio the dirtbag arsonist is going to romance Delores? That dog won't hunt.

More tomorrow. Thanks again, amiga, for a wonderful read.

EJ

Thanks for the comments EJ and Anon207.

As EJ says, we also learned Horacio is an arsonist. Sigh. And I had such high hopes for him.

Ay yi yi. We knew it was probably coming, but still pithed off. As for Horacio--I was thinking, well maybe she'll just get hurt and won't be able to talk, but as soon as that lock went on the door, knew where this was all going.

So there goes Elisa's mother figure. Seems to me the secrets, behaviors and theme of mothers is the core of this TN. I say watch out for Lucio--he will be a man to be reckoned with.

Wow--when Rene C. throws dagger with his eyes, yikes. but please Padre, tell poor Gael who this braud is. He's not going to be happy you hid the truth. My thought on Irritating Ingrid - could she really be out for money? If Gael is Rosendo's son, could she be in town to reveal the truth and ake a play for part of Rosendo's estate? I just don't trust her she just wants to "know" her son.

As for Horacio---oh dear. GIANT step backward. But being they made a point to show his reluctance in the doing the crime, and his wanting to reform, I'm thinking that maybe he will be a redemmed character still? Or a character thaat will get an anvil, but after "seeing the light"? Personally, after Gabs' smash into the bars...I'm rooting for him now to be the one who takes Gabs down---painfully.

I could do without Highlight's gnashing of teeth and another funeral...hope it's better than poor Stef's.

Oh Sylvia...I'm so sorry you had to recap this. I was enjoying your usual snark (especially the part about Carmina looking like a homicidal maniac even when imparting "good news") but arggggh, the ending!!!!! Just awful. We've now had two super-lovable motherly characters killed. No fair. This telenovela sucks!

But your recap was excellent, as always, amiga.

Oh Sylvia, I smiled the second I saw the title. The first was the news we had been waiting for, Damian's realization that resistance is futile - this is where his home and heart are. But I am also sad and upset about this nefarious turn of events and the demise of dear Blanca. As Elna June said, did Elisa really need to lose one more of the few who truly love her? Nopis.

But I digress. The recap was marvelous. Loved your kiss-off theme and both Flo and Unkahunk can't be gone fast enough for me (although they'll probably linger til the end). "Los Hatfield" and "Paloma scoffs, snip snip snip and cut her right out!" were a few of my favorites.

I get the creepy feeling Gabino has already slept with (or will sleep with) every woman in town. He seems to have some loathsome connection to everyone. Also, I was surprised at the way he took down Horacio. I never would have thought I'd see the day Armando Araiza gets pushed around. Hmmm.

So with Blanca gone, Orangina remains free to wreck her havoc and do more damage. Ack.

Thanks again Sylvia - this was wonderful.

Happy Friday all!

Diana

Sylvia I loved this recap from the title to the end. Thank you.

I was not happy with the ending of the episode, but knew it was coming, so was not surprised. I do think the writers did a wonderful job building up to it.

I was shocked at Horacio's efficiency at getting the job done, all the time expressing his disgust at what he "had" to do. (He really did have a choice. He could have turned himself over to the police and given up his freedom, instead of taking another life to keep himself out of jail.) This will be a complex character- I'm glad he's not a cardboard figure criminal accomplice. But I think this deed seals his fate. In the end, the Telenovela gods will smite him. He will lose the respect of Lolita and he will lose his freedom or his life.

I laughed at the cake scene. Gael was just so clueless and Padre was shooting major daggers with his eyes. I also don't believe Ingrid is just back to get to know her son. Why's she been stalking the procesadora?

Damian is in charge. Woohoo! I also loved Maru sitting at her desk like nothing had happened, and her and Braulio's grins when Gabino realized what was going on.

Great job, Sylvia, you deftly handled this shocking episode. Even after you guys warned me yesterday of what was inevitably headed our way, I was still holding out hope that this time it would be different.

I lost two of my favorite characters last night... both Blanco and Horacio. I was so hoping to see Horacio hook up with Florencia. Not much chance of that happening now.

Just before he tossed the bottle in, Horacio's face had such a brutal expression which I imagined was tinged with just the slightest touch of remorse.

Is it possible that Horacio just thought he was torching a shop and was unaware that he was murdering Blanca?

No... I suppose not.

I really love Ramona's repeated assertions that the fates of Elisa and Damien are already written (spooky sweet). Reminds me a little bit of doña Juana's (Alborada) "Asi es, asi será."

Carlos

Great Recap, Sylvia!

"Dude, you are so dead to me. I don’t care if you are Armando Araiza." HILARIOUS and my sentiments exactly! Why, Horacio, Why?!! The happy storyline I wrote in my head about you and Lola is now dead. So was he trying to kill Lucio? Because Orangina hadn't had time to get to Gabino to ask him to kill her so that was a little confusing to me. But I think your excellent recap explained it.

Best scene of the night was when Gabino walks in after scolding Braulio and turns on Maru and then HE gets sent to the principals office. LOVED IT! Our vindication is so few and far between on this show.

So now Elisa's lost her Godmother, and she's about to lose her lame-ass Father after Orangina gets the paternity tests switched. I'd say our gal is due for SOME kind of change in luck. Not redemption yet, but PLEASE....something good!?

And Flo still hasn't given us an indication as to whether she'll stay or go....

Katy

Carlos: Because he padlocked the door, I think Armando (err, Horatio) knew exactly what he was doing. Sad sigh.

My hopes of a loving, honest relationship for Horacio and Flo are also dashed. Of course they may still get together. Flo may make the decision that she will not sacrifice another relationship. How devastating the consequences for her will be should and if that occurs. Along with Elisa, Flo also deserves much, much better.

Diana

Diana- Do you mean Lolita? Not Flo, right? Carlos's hope for a Flo-Horacio hookup is due to the two actors' chemistry as a mismatched couple in Llena de Amor. :)

Horacio only focused on his target-- Lucio. That's who he was after, not Blanca. It didn't matter if there was someone else in there with Lucio or not (Blanca, Elisa, or a customer could have been in there with him). Horacio would not have set the shop on fire had he seen Lucio leave.

Killer recap, Cap'n. I'm out of town and can't watch, but I think I'd rather have you describe stuff blowing up than actually see stuff blowing up, anyway.

Didn't the Padre teach Gael not to take candy from strange ladies?

oh sylvia! talk about you were on fire last night!! loved the way you described the Elisa/paloma stroll finding Ramona who says 'its your destiny, princess leia!'..
also..
Assgusto wants Blanca to explain herself. (So do we!! Spill it now! Save yourself!)
i would have called for Lolita to put a wrestling hold on Orangina on the floor while Blanca explained to AssUsto just how STUPID he has been all this time and how UNFAIR he has been to his own daughter... I am sure Lolita would be UP FOR and GLAD TO do it for her...

And about the plan to falsify the blood work... that way Blanca can show AssUsto that this is not all a lie... how would she know about the paternity tests if she did not hear it from Orangina herself/Gabino or Inmundo since they are the only ones that know about it?

Good morning all. Boo hoo, I'm still bummed about last night's turn of events even though I knew it was coming.

Yes, Horacio was stalking Lucio and simply did not see him leave the shop. As Vivi says, he made a very bad choice. He could have refused. He could have run. He did not need to choose murder. The actor did a great job with the conflicting emotions on his face, but I'm sure his telenovela fate is sealed.

I thought the scene between Padre and Ingrid was just super. They both played it perfectly. She must have done or been something very bad (besides abandoning Gael) for the Padre to loathe her so much. Man, he was NOT backing down and neither was she even though it took all she had to stand her ground.

Poor team Elisa took a huge hit last night. But from the advances it looks like Damian is firmly on her side. Now that he's in charge of the procesadora he can buy his habaneros from anyone he likes.

Marta, "how would she know about the paternity tests if she did not hear it from Orangina herself/Gabino or Inmundo since they are the only ones that know about it?"...right! Good thinking! But now it's too late, sniff, so we have many more episodes of lies and sneaking around.

Great recap.

Blue Lass: Right - Gael has had no training in Stranger Danger.

And as far as the actor playing Horacio goes - I hold a grudge against him because he reminds me of my first ex-husband. But, killing the madrina - unforgiveable. Poor Lola. I think she could have had a life with him.

Gabino was pissed that Damian informed him Lucio would be coming back to the PRO CE SA DO RA to be his right hand man, and if Gabino didn't like it he could get to steppin'.

That's why Gabino ordered Horacio to get rid of Lucio.

Horacio was following Lucio (remember Lucio left his house). He never saw Blanca inside the shop, only that Lucio went inside. He never saw Lucio leave...he thought Lucio was still in the shop, that's why he threw the cocktail in and padlocked the door.

I think if Horacio had seen Lucio leave he would not have thrown the cocktail inside the shop and locked the door.

Too bad Blanca couldn't make it to the back door (or did the shop even HAVE a back door?).

The paternity test being tampered with to show Elisa is NOT Augusto's daughter might be a good thing for Elisa because I can't imagine Augusto wanting Elisa to stay in his house. He'd probably throw her promptly out on the street, at which point she can make her own way.

Love it Love it!! (well, except for the nasty ending of the actual episode and the 'tagging for bad ending' for Horacio character... I agree that he and 'Flo' made a wonderful mismatched couple in LldA)
I won't repeat the quotes that have already been listed as favs...
well... just a couple...

More kisses, hugs and way too many anvils.

In the Principal’s office:.. LOL! Best part is Gabino is sent there by giggling Maru and Braulio…

When AssUsto came home early (before noon) Orangina almost peed her pants since that could mean he was going to go to Blanca’s to hear what she had to say… that might be true, but he gives Orangina the excuse that they are doing bad financially and he came home to take a shower and work in his home office afterwards… boy Orangina must have skipped a heartbeat, didn’t she?

So Gabino FORCES Horacio (who has decided to straighten himself out in this town, nice goal but you don't show the backbone to follow through with it) to do the deed at Lucio’s otherwise he will turn him into the Campeche tombos… so I agree with daisynjay, they DID make a point to show his reluctance in the doing the crime… still nasty, though. My prediction is he will die saving someone on the Elisa team, either Elisa, Damian or Lolita herself and chances are helping to 'finish' off Gabino and/or Orangina.

Cap’n! I too love coconut ice cream… you could find it in PR all over with street vendors who roll around a small freezer… you can buy about an ounce worth in this small paper cup (a bit larger than the ones that fast food have to serve urself ketchup)

Big hugs and lots of te amos. = more anvils… poor Blanca… more nails in her coffin

¿Qué hace esto aquí? Should be ‘que haces tu aqui?’ … but… jeje actually, I like your version.. I would not mind calling blanca ‘esto’…

Anon, I too loved the ‘casual’ way Maru waltzed out in Gabino’s face… priceless!

Loved the way you described the cake scene… totally agree with you and Vivi… Padre throwing daggers while Gael could not have been more clueless… too funny.
I join the group who thinks Ingrid is up to something else besides her son… $$$$ is also my guess?

Carlos…
Is it possible that Horacio just thought he was torching a shop and was unaware that he was murdering Blanca?
My guess is Gabino sent him to kill Lucio, not Blanca… and that is why he was following Lucio around. He just did not notice that Lucio had left when he had to turn his head down one last time to avoid being seen clearly at the soon-to-be scene of the crime.

the only problem with the 'tampered' paternity tests is that it will separate Elisa and Dam... and maybe it will be a case of one of them knows why and the other one is clueless... so it hurts more... ... (back to NTO nightmares.. that was used there)
and if Elisa wants to keep Dam away, who will she lean to for support?... she is running out of teammates in her bench.

Love the title! Back with more later!

There are two different stories floating around, but IMO they cannot co-exist, one of them has to go:

Story #1: Elisa is Rosendo's "daughter"

Story #2: Irritating Ingrid wants something via Gael.

We see Gael mackin' on Elisa in the credits so I'm thinking we (or Gael & Padre) will be waiting for a while to find out what Irritating Ingrid wants.

Ingrid looks like Rosendo's type and Rosendo was paying Gael's child support so you do the math.

But if Rosendo is Elisa's "daddy" and also Gael's daddy, neither Gael nor Damian can get their groove on with Elisa.

Hee, Marta you're right. Should've been "tu" or "usted", but I think I'm going to leave it at "esto" because it fits.

Oh, I do remember eating lots of coconut ice cream when I was visiting friends in Puerto Rico, also coco frio, pinchos, and all sorts of fried fish ball type thingies.

all sorts of fried fish ball type thingies
... LOL!! you must mean 'bacalaitos fritos' (fried salt cod fish pancakes ... for lack of a better description)
or also seafood alcapurrias could be there too... fried ground banana dough stuffed with seafood?

Marta, both! I remember both of those. Fried delights with a cold cerveza or coco frio and a beach nearby...heaven.

now you are making me think of making bacalaitos this wknd for my daughters at home...

it was funny when Irritating Ingrid left and Gael tried to get Padre to eat some cake.. Padre passed and clueless Gael questioned... 'but you love merengue! (frosting)'

now we know where Padre gets his sweetness (for anyone BUT I.I.)

next time I make the guava pastries, i will make sure I save some for our dear Padre Lupe!

Thank you for the recap, and I'm with everyone wishing Horacio had just said no.

I'm hoping for an American soap opera turn of events where Blanca does escape out the back door, badly burned, someone takes her to the hospital where she has a slow recovery and is unable to talk. It takes months for her to recover and leave the hospital and make it back home, where she then spills the beans about what she knows.

Cap'n Sylvia - Thank you for the great recap!!! I hope to have time to watch my recording this afternoon. I don't have a good feeling about Blanca surviving the fire.

I never liked Horacio and never will, especially after this episode. I doubt he will be redeemable, either. Plus, he makes my skin crawl.

Anon207 - we're 100% sure Rosendo is not Elisa's father, but Gael's father is still up for grabs. Methinks Rosendo was a stray tomcat for quite some time.

Vivi, yes, I meant Lolita. I get the names confused because Flo looks more like a "Lolita".

Gracias. Diana

cathyx, you've given me hope! But...nah, probably not.

Marta, ahhhh, so that's what Gael said about the cake. I couldn't figure it out. OMG, bacalaitos AND guava pastries? Girlfriend you are making my mouth water.

Doris, I think Rosendo and Gabino have been the busiest boys in town. Damian and Gael are probably half brothers. Useless Vicente and Paloma are probably half siblings too.

WANT FRIED FISH BALL THINGIES RIGHT NOW

Anon207 - we're 100% sure Rosendo is not Elisa's father, but Gael's father is still up for grabs. Methinks Rosendo was a stray tomcat for quite some time.

----------------

Viewerville knows that Augusto is Elisa's biological father, but the test results will be tampered with and show that Elisa is NOT Augusto's daughter. Thus Augusto will believe Rosendo is Elisa's daddy and that Elisa & Damian are brother & sister.

Viewerville is about 90% sure Rosendo is also Gael's father. If Augusto believes that Rosendo is Elisa's daddy and it comes out that Rosendo is also GAEL's daddy, then he would have to put a stop to Gael making moves on Elisa, because THEY would be "brother & sister" as well.

So if Blanca is dead, this secret stays buried for another hundred episodes. As usual.

Horacio is now on my death list.

Sylvia, did you know that Guy Pierce (i know have the last name wrong, the guy who hosts the show about dines, dives, etc in food network)...
one of his favorite foods is MOFONGO!!
smashed green plantain with garlic, spices rolled as a ball served with any meat (cubed steak and onions, stewed chicken, seafood gumbo, pretty much anything!)

Guy Fiero. I should send him the name of the place near me; their mofongo is delicious (as is their garlic shrimp).

Guy Fieri. He loves mofongo? I do too. It sounds like such a weird food but it tasted delicious. Now you are reminding me of all the yummy things I ate.

Once again we start out talking about telenovelas but end up talking about FOOD.

Anon, Rosendo was definitely busy... and he was not the only one... stay tuned... no spoilers.

LOVE Useless Vicente nickname... i would add NAGGING too but UV is enough. maybe we can use NAGGING for Enrique our other useless one who does not like work.

Aha! I knew Urban, foodie that she is, would have something to say about this.

i am going to see if i can sneak out of work a few min early and pick up some green plantains and make mofongo at home tonight.

When Elisa was talking to Blanca yesterday they were talking about her impossible love for Dam and Elisa said "The only thing that can help me forget is another man". Then she said "Gael...." and Blanca interrupted her and said "Is Paloma's" and Elisa quickly agreed. I thought this was interesting because it's a shift. Usually Elisa is all "he's like a brother to me" but this was more like "he's taken". Does this mean that if she got the green light from Paloma she would consider him? (Assuming Damian is out of the picture in some telenovella plot device).

Your dilemma could be resolved by NOT having the test results tampered with,no? The Doc is such a loser but what if just this once he does the right thing?

Then Gael and Damian are half brothers competing for Elisa.

Also, didn't Blanca know about the paternity test because Lucio suggested it to Assgusto?

It seems to me that if the blood test gets tampered with and Augusto and Elisa think that she isn't Augusto's child, then the whole plot line of her developing those lands won't happen. Then she will probably be kicked out of the house too. And she also won't have a relationship with either Damian or Gael. I can't see this happening. Am I missing something?

cathyx, why would the lands developing thing not happen? the lands are in Elisa's name anyway so with or without AssUsto's approval she could do her project. all she needs would be a contingency contract with Damian for the production in exchange for some advance money.

First the praise: HILARIOUS!!

kudos for
*Orange Crush
*Scary male chanting
*and while it was a terrible event, "Blanca's house of incendiary materials" was a gut buster.

Now the sad stuffs: WAH!!!! Blanca is toast (er, sorry. Too crude?) WAH!!! Horacio is a murderer of innocent people (as opposed to Antolin the murderer of thugs.)

I assumed Blanca would go down at the behest of Carmina, but really she was collateral damage because the target was Lucio. I agree with Elna June that poor Elisa needs all the friends she can get I hate that Blanca has gone.

EJ- The Doc DID do the right thing. The DNA tests will not be tampered with. It's the document telling the results that's in danger of being intercepted and discarded/tampered with by Carmeany.

Sylvia - YOU are da bomb!

Cathy x - I so want you to have guessed correctly about Blanca surviving.

Both Abismo and El Tal with explosions ? What are the odds?

And last night in Familia they were cenote diving. I'm so confused!

Oy. Ten minutes in and I am crying as much for Cynderella having to recap as for Don Lucio!

My condolences amiga! :(
