El Talismán #63 Fri 4/27/12 Bodus Half Interrumptus - OR - Are They or Aren't They Married

What a great episode! It's gotten to the point where I am no longer disappointed and a true Talismaniac in my heart and soul.
Can't wait to discuss the wedding, or lack thereof.

"Ant" is the perfect name for Antonio, one of big black carpenter ants that cause a lot of damage.
I LOL at ElViral and the check, she had such a delightful look on her face! That woman needs to be locked up.
Looking forward to next week havoc.

Poor Mariana. She doesn't have her memory back yet. I hope that happens before the Pig gets ahold of her.
Flor was great. She has the guts of the two sister. I love how she gave Fabi the eye roll after Fabi threw Army out and then says her heart can't forget him lol.
I feel sorry for Cameela but I don't. Pedro has explained things to her ad naseum. You would think she would have stood her ground. I can see why she was upset, but Pedro has told her over and over he never loved Mariana and only married her to protect Mariana and the baby.
So evidently there is some paperwork declaring Mariana dead? That should solve the problem. I don't understand why something wasn't said about that, unless it wasn't entirely legal, although it must have been because the judge was ready to marry them.
I agree with Rosemary Primera about LOL during the Elvira / Mariana / cheque scene. Hilarious!
I do wish we could have seen Pedro ride in on his horse. He looked so handsome and I loved his self assured walk and greetings to the guests.
Pachelbel's Canon in any language is still my favorite song.
There is a yard sale at my house today, so I'll be in and out. I was so happy to see this recap up and look forward to hashing it over. Thanks, Blue, for posting. And thanks again, Anita, for a superb job. Now... off to sell some barstools.

“Padre wants to take a bath and rest after his long trip from Tijuana to Fresno by air.”
“Oh No, it’s Elvira…she certainly is an enterprising woman when her next meal and clean sheets are at stake.”
“There is some kind of poison in [Pigorio’s] system…the Fresno docs are to be congratulated for not having to falsify this.”
“Antonio slithers up, drink in hand to toast to his own success and spew venom all over…”
And I just loved your society-page descriptions of what everyone was wearing. Spot-on!
Yes Madelaine regarding your thoughts on Cam. Yes Pedro looked "like that" at Mariana. He loved her like a sister and she's been gone for years (is it 7 or 10 or whatever) presumed dead. How many times does he have to tell her that? Please don't regress back to the beginning of this TN (though our snark quotient was off the charts). I know our writers have had challenges but if Cam goes back into stupid mode and actually takes an interest in Tony, I'll be vexed.
At least Mariana's presence keeps One-note-Lulu in check. Since she and her brother are so ff, I foresee a kidnapping.
Camila for sure needs to calm down. Looks like Monday should be good if Mariana can get her to listen. Sad when one of the most reasonable characters has no idea what's going on. Although maybe that explains it.

Lu and Antonio looked like the baddies from Superman walking into that wedding.
Camila handled Mariana's return so poorly. Really, it can be interpreted that she is upset that Mariana is not dead. Where's your compassion, girl? At least fake it.
Dr. Raul I beleive was at the wedding too. He could have told Mariana all she needed to know. I wonder where he went, the Padre knew too. I guess Mariana ran off to fast for anyone to tell her the truth.
OK, what did they do with Lucrezia's hair? It looks to me like a crime has been committed here.
For me, Elvira stole this episode. She seemed genuinely puzzled when she said:
"Parece que nadie me quiere a mi."
"Seems like nobody wants me."
And her self-introduction to a bewildered Mariana was priceless as everyone has already noted.
I loved her as Regina (CME) and she's just a lovable in this... although in a completely different way.
I wonder if the Padre is going to help sort this all out or suddenly remember that he has pressing business back in Tijuana.
A disappointment... not getting to the snacks that Tracy whipped up for the wedding guests.
I thought it was a hoot that Tony brought his own drink to the wedding.
Oh, and good for Pig's doctor in discovering that someone may be poisoning the porker.

I think so much of our issue with Elvira in the beginning is that she is no Regina, who we all loved, and who had good posture. But Julieta Rosen has made us want MORE of Elvira, as much as we don't want to want that. Hats off to her for bringin' the sexy back to headbands.
I've noticed that since the new writers Camila is more giggly. I think they are trying to endear her to us a bit more.
What about Antonio and Lu locking the hospital door after the doc left? That gave me chills. I thought they were going to suffocate him with a pillow.
One of the two funniest moments/scenes for me was Ant bringing his own drink to the wedding, in a glass no less! (What happened to the boda bag?) The other was Elvira harrassing a super confused Mariana about her check. LOL!
If I were Mariana, I think I would believe all the nice looking people and the priest (!) who were telling me how much Pedro cared for me and had been looking for me all these years, over the creepy girl wearing all black and weird hair, and her drunk brother splashing his drink all over everyone.
My favorite part of Elivira's shenanigans was when she accused Camila of being selfish because all she could think of was her own impending wedding. (It would be even funnier if I didn't actually know people like that...sigh.)
Julietta Rosen was off the hook in this episode. She was by far the most entertaining of all the characters, from her sit-in at Renato's, to her appearance at El Tal announcing she was moving in, to ambushing Mariana about "mi cheque". Every word out of her mouth was an absolute scream.
When Panchito wiped his nose I shrieked out loud, "Ewwwwwwww!". That wacky "Booger", he simply does not let us down.
Stoopid Cameela.
"If I were Mariana, I think I would believe all the nice looking people and the priest (!) who were telling me how much Pedro cared for me and had been looking for me all these years, over the creepy girl wearing all black and weird hair, and her drunk brother splashing his drink all over everyone." Well-said Vivi. I couldn't agree more. It's a little warm right now to be wearing Emilia's beanie, darn it.
Thanks again Anita, and thanks to the rest of you for your fun comments.
I wonder how long it will take for Pedro or someone else to mention to Mariana that Antonio is the guy who had an affair with her and knocked her up to try to get his claws on El Tal, then cruelly ditched her after it didn't work, and that he is the one Pedro was trying to protect her from. I would think with or without her memory, she would have a severe visceral reaction to Antonio.
Elvira is so one-track. It was nice to see Camila not caving to her demands! Maybe the new writers took note that we hated seeing a heroine who was such a willing victim. Now when will Maria tell her to get a job and contribute to the expenses?
Did NOT like Camila's reaction to Mariana's appearance, though. Yes, it was her wedding, but seriously...this woman has been missing for years, was presumed dead, never did anything mean to Camila, and Cami can't muster the SLIGHTEST happiness that she's alive? Oh, she "saw the way Pedro looked at her"? Yeah, I think that look was "My dear friend has been missing and I thought she was dead but she is ALIVE!" What was he supposed to do, glare at Mariana and tell her to hurry up and off herself so he and Cami can go on with their wedding?
