El Talismán #56 Wed 4/18/12 Schemes, Finding the Past, and Another Caper
Previously on El Talisman:
Tonio goes to see Dr. Manuel about Mariana.
Panchito warns Claudio not to go to El Alcatrash.
Today on El Talisman:
Panchito tells Claudio he knows about how Claudio likes Flor and not to go to Alcatrash cause if he gets caught, Pigorio or Tonio will kill him.
Army and Angel talk about Fabi and what happened in the hotel room when El Viral caught them.
Panchito and Claudio continue to talk. He asks Claudio if he is in love with Flor and how was it to see his Papa in LA? Claudio tells Panchito it went badly with his Papa and that Margo was helping Pedro look for Mariana in LA. Panchito thought bubbles how he will tell Pigorio about this.
Fabi and Flor are talking about El Viral and what happened when she caught Fabi and Army.
Tia Maria and El Viral are talking about what El Viral did when she caught Fabi and Army together and what El Viral did. Tia Maria tells El Viral you are so cruel how could you do this to your own son and his poor girlfriend? Tia tells El Viral she shouldn't punish the poor girl for the sins of her Grandpapa and her Papa. She says you should apologize to Army and Fabi and you need to concentrate on what you are going to do with your life and on your son and daughter. El Viral tells Tia that she is upset because she has little money and she needs to start looking for another man with money. Maria tells her to stop doing that and to look for a man she loves instead of money.
Rennie and Rita are talking and they can't wait to get that money from Tonio. Rita tells Rennie she wants to be Tonio's new girlfriend. Rennie thinks she is crazy and that Cameela will never give up Tonio. Rita basically tells Rennie where there is a will there is a way. She wants Tonio all to herself with his hacienda and all his money and his handsome self.
Padre Sebastian, Cameela and Pedro talk. Pedro tells Padre they are going to go back to Fresno now that they are back together and haven't found Mariana. Pedro says that he will take care of that paperwork so he and Cameela can finally get married. Padre warns Pedro he needs to tell Lucrazy and to be firm about it. Also Cameela tells Padre she can't wait to tell El Viral they are getting married.
Valentin and Pigorio are talking. Pigorio wants to know where Tonio is? He isn't answering his cell phone. Pigorio sends Valentin to look for Panchito.

Panchito kind of listens at the door and hears the gist of what they are saying. He is filing this away in his memory banks for future use. He tells the girls he doesn't gossip (yeah right) and won't breathe a word of what he heard. He sees Fabi is very sad.

Manuel plays dumb, and Tonio tells him the sad story of how Mariana married a man that doesn't love her and what this man, Pedro Ibbara, wanted was her hacienda and her money. Pedro is a very bad man. Manuel doesn't look like he beleives him, he is giving him the puzzled look. Mariana is listening outside the door and is upset that twice in one day some man is looking for her. She really doesn't want to know anymore about Pedro. Tonio tells Manuel if he sees her or needs more info to contact him at mio rancho El Alcatrash. Tonio leaves.
Army and Angel are still talking about the debacle at the hotel, when Tia Maria overhears. She encourages Army to talk to Fabi and tell her not to be upset cause El Viral is loca. Angel encourages Army to go find Fabi and explain.
Fabi and Flor are talking about Army too. Flor encourages Fabi to go look for Army and talk to him. Fabi thinks she ought to break up with Army. Flor just rolls her eyes.
Pedro, Cameela and Margo are all driving back together to El Tal. They stop at a pastry shop, and while Margo is inside they look at the wedding cakes the shop also makes. Margo comes back out and says he needed to stop to get something for them to eat, and they laugh and say hey this one with the cakes. Many smoochies between Pedro and Cameela and Margo laughs.
Pigorio is talking to that guy again (don't know his name) about Doris's divorce from Tonio.
Bridgette and Doris are also talking about the divorce and Brigette tells Doris to be careful she doesn't end up in the street with nothing.
Lucrazy and Tonio take a meeting. She tells Tonio about Cameela and Pedro being back together and how they are getting married. Tonio says don't worry about that. We found Mariana and that will put the kibosh on that. Lucrazy wants to activate the Yenny plan with the pics and the gaslight of Pedro. They are in agreement they will do this. Tonio tells her about the meeting he had with Manuel and that he told Manuel that Pedro is a very bad man. They are very happy to stop Pedro and Cameela.
Manuel and Mariana talk. Manuel tells her she needs to confront her past in Fresno and to find out what is true, what isn't and also who is good or bad. Mariana doesn't really want to go, but she says Manuel is right and they need to go to Fresno and find out what is what.
While on the road Pedro takes a call from Padre who tells him he is sending someone named Beatrice to pick up those papers from Pedro about either the divorce from Mariana or declaring her dead. He tells Pedro a flight number she will be on and also to give the papers to her. Pedro calls Tia Patty to tell her this info about the papers and the flight number of Beatrice and to have everything together when he gets back so they can deliver these papers to the airport. Tia Patty repeats the flight number. Panchito is also listening to this and puts this in his memory banks to tell Pigorio.
Panchito meets with Pigorio and tells him about the papers, the flight and about Mariana and Pedro and what he overheard Tia Patty talking about with Pedro. Pigorio is freaking out. He tells Panchito to find Valentin and not to ask any questions. He says Valentin is better equipped to take care of this. Panchito told Pigorio that he thinks Mariana is coming back to Fresno. Pigorio and Valentin meet again, and Pigorio tells Valentin he is to kill Mariana tomorrow at the airport when she arrives! Valentin doesn't want to do this for fear of the police presence and Pigorio says too bad find a way cause I ain't going to the carcel! Pigorio wants Valentin to kill both Mariana and Pedro at the airport.
Army and Angel break into El Alcatrash again! The find Nana outside and put a hand over her mouth so she won't scream. They tell her they won't hurt her they are only looking for Fabi and that Army really needs to talk to her. Nana agrees to be quiet and they ask her to go find Fabi. She does and tells Fabi Armando is outside. Fabi is so happy. She goes outside, Angel introduces himself to her and goes around the corner so Fabi and Army can talk. Army apologizes up and down about what happened at the hotel and that his Mama had no right to do what she did. Fabi accepts his apology and tells her his Mama will have to deal. Angel tries to hurry Army along before they get caught. Flor is so worried about what is taking so long. She wants to go out there to see, but Nana tells her, let Fabi and Army have some alone time. Finally Flor is tired of waiting and calls out to Fabi that she is coming out. Army wants to leave, but Fabi wants him to meet her sister. Army is panicked.
Margo, Cameela and Pedro make it back to El Tal. Pedro tells Margo to get some rest, and Cameela too. Pedro is bringing the bags up to the room when here comes Lucrazy. He tells her she has to leave. Lucrazy is not happy. He tells her he and Cameela are back together, and he will give her money to rent an apartment, but she can't live at El Tal anymore. She tells him about how Cameela is the one that set up the Mariana phone calls to him and he can meet the woman that called if he wants too. Lucrazy tries to tell Pedro that Cameela is the crazy one.
While at Madame Brigette's Pigorio asks if Katerina is there. Madame I think tells him not. Pigorio runs into the Notary there, and the Notary (who is also the PI) tells Pigorio that Pedro wasn't only in LA to find Margarito, he was there to find Mariana as well. Pigorio is very pithed off.
Mariana is having nightmares about Fresno. She asks God to aid her in her quest for her past. And there we end.

There was a lot of plotting and planning in this one. I really hope Manuel sticks close to Mariana. It seems Panchito got the info wrong. He thinks Mariana is flying into Fresno tomorrow. It is actually someone named Beatrice who is a friend of the Padre's.

Its so sad that this actor who plays Pedro (Rafael Novoa)is such a great actor and he chose the worst script ever made. He must be kicking his Colombian behind for this one. I've seen other TN he has done and here he looks so dumb, clueless, not manly enough is so disturbing. I hope if he goes with LULU on this one, that Cameela drops his behind and forgets about him. Please just google PURA SANGRE (Colombian TN) and see the diference. Thanks for the recap.

Thank you so much I like to read these recaps just before I go home. I have to agree Rafael Novoa picked the wrong TN, Pedro is just dumb, dumb, dumb. I hope Cameela ends up with someone else who deserves her, breaks away from her family completely. It's just unbelievable.

Rosemary Primera, you know I never thought about that. I kind of like Valentin because he actually has a concience. I hope he doesn't send Panchito. Panchito will do anything to please Pigorio. I just hope he doesn't murder anyone. I like Panchito too.

Pedro's stupidity is one of the reasons Rafael Novoa wanted to leave this TN. He knows what good and bad TNs are and this is not good. Hopefully this new set of writers will stop relying on a brain-dead galan and come up with real reasons for Pedro and Camilla to be apart or allow them to stay together and fight against all the crazies in this TN.
I also hope Valentin doesn't end up in the slammer. It would be great if Manuel actually protected Mariana when they return to Fresno and she is the one who does the Piggy in.

Thanks, Madelaine for this great recap. If it weren't for you I probably wouldn't even watch this train wreck. There still are funny moments, although the writers may not have meant them that way.

Did Camila ever do anything about the apartment in Davis? She left for Fresno with just a suitcase, thinking she'd be there a couple months, max, and Evilra and Armenso weren't going. Then they took off, really not planning to stay long...
Is Camila still paying the rent on that place or did they just abandon it with whatever stuff they had accumulated? How is Camila paying for anything when she never works? She even mentioned to Army once that she had some savings (she was going to help him pay for school...hey Army, remember that you used to go to school?). How did she have savings? She must have kept that well hidden from her greedy sMother.

So, it's Tonio who made his version of Mariana's amnesia sound so persuasive to el Doctor. Thank goodness, he used his head and told Mariana that he might be lying. (IMHO, just stand the two next to each other and who would you believe--sunny, clean-shaven, well-coiffed Pedro or scowling, 5-o'clock shadowed, greasy-haired Antonio.) Too bad Mariana was listening at the door.
Anon at 3:29. Ditto. For that evening at least, it looks like Camila is coming out ahead. Just wait until Crazy Lulu tells him to look at her phone. My question is...how would Lucrazy know about even one phone call, unless she had been present.
I like the idea of Panchito guessing wrong about who is flying in, but this is Aunt Patricia, Mariana's aunt. How would she know someone named Beatriz from the orphanage. Well, it's only a little slip.
So, we're getting closer to the truth about who took whose boyfriend away from whom. The sisters are trying to make peace--Maria being the better person for it, since Elvira has been acting like a jerk toward her two children. She points out that if she doesn't change she's going to lose Armando, too--since she's already lost Camila. During that interchange, we have the two discussing this mystery boyfriend and how it was Elvira that took him away from Maria. It just has to be Dr. B. They can't possibly introduce another character now.
I'm not much into the youngsters' problems, but I sure was hoping that Flor was *not* going to run into Armando before he and Fab patched things up. He's going to man up, grow some low-hanging avocados, and separate from his mother. He was quite tender with Fab, telling her to never mind his mother, but he's never going to let her be insulted by her again. He told her that if he had to choose between Mama and Fab, he would choose her...smoochies.
I'm liking Rita more now, butt, and that is a pun intended, I was worried that her fake butt was going to slip even further down than it already was. There is still a lot of unintended humor in this tn. She's determined to have Tonio and by jove, I think she'll manage it. The two are well suited.
Pigorio is one for the books. He decides what dirty deeds need to be done, but doesn't want his hands dirtied. Then, he gets mad at Valentin because he can't think of a way to do away with "Mariana" at the airport. I sure hope Valentin is able to avoid the latest orders re killing her, followed by Pedro. After calling him inutil, he called Lucas. That sounds like bad news.
BTW--Madelaine--the Notary is really Lucas, the forger of the fake will. He's not a notary, but small punto in the grand scheme of things.
Poor Doris--got stood up at her own divorce!
The other funny scene had to do with the wedding cakes. Pedro is saying that he's not going to wear one of those penguin suits and Camila is saying, not only is he going to, but she wants a *HUGE* wedding so everyone can know of their love. When Margaro reappears with food, to sustain him on the trip home, since they are driving non-stop back. That's when Pedro takes advantage of som more smoochies to hold him until he gets home. So, it's Tonio who made his version of Mariana's amnesia sound so persuasive to el Doctor. Thank goodness, he used his head and told Mariana that he might be lying. (IMHO, just stand the two next to each other and who would you believe--sunny, clean-shaven, well-coiffed Pedro or scowling, 5-o'clock shadowed, greasy-haired Antonio.) Too bad Mariana was listening at the door.
Anon at 3:29. Ditto. For that evening at least, it looks like Camila is coming out ahead. Just wait until Crazy Lulu tells him to look at her phone. My question is...how would Lucrazy know about even one phone call, unless she had been present.
I like the idea of Panchito guessing wrong about who is flying in, but this is Aunt Patricia, Mariana's aunt. How would she know someone named Beatriz from the orphanage. Well, it's only a little slip.
So, we're getting closer to the truth about who took whose boyfriend away from whom. The sisters are trying to make peace--Maria being the better person for it, since Elvira has been acting like a jerk toward her two children. She points out that if she doesn't change she's going to lose Armando, too--since she's already lost Camila. During that interchange, we have the two discussing this mystery boyfriend and how it was Elvira that took him away from Maria. It just has to be Dr. B. They can't possibly introduce another character now.
I'm not much into the youngsters' problems, but I sure was hoping that Flor was *not* going to run into Armando before he and Fab patched things up. He's going to man up, grow some low-hanging avocados, and separate from his mother. He was quite tender with Fab, telling her to never mind his mother, but he's never going to let her be insulted by her again. He told her that if he had to choose between Mama and Fab, he would choose her...smoochies.
I'm liking Rita more now, butt, and that is a pun intended, I was worried that her fake butt was going to slip even further down than it already was. There is still a lot of unintended humor in this tn. She's determined to have Tonio and by jove, I think she'll manage it. The two are well suited.
Pigorio is one for the books. He decides what dirty deeds need to be done, but doesn't want his hands dirtied. Then, he gets mad at Valentin because he can't think of a way to do away with "Mariana" at the airport. I sure hope Valentin is able to avoid the latest orders re killing her, followed by Pedro. After calling him inutil, he called Lucas. That sounds like bad news.
BTW--Madelaine--the Notary is really Lucas, the forger of the fake will. He's not a notary, but small punto in the grand scheme of things.
Poor Doris--got stood up at her own divorce!
The other funny scene had to do with the wedding cakes. Pedro is saying that he's not going to wear one of those penguin suits and Camila is saying, not only is he going to, but she wants a *HUGE* wedding so everyone can know of their love. When Margaro reappears with food, to sustain him on the trip home, since they are driving non-stop back. That's when Pedro takes advantage of som more smoochies to hold him until he gets home. haha Anita!!! I just started watching today's ep and had to pause it to thank you for pointing out Rita's falling butt! I even called my husband in to see it. As short as her dresses are, and given the slippage, we can expect to get mooned any day now.

Thank you so much for the additions Anita. I did miss alot and thank you for Lucas' name. I just couldn't remember it. So why is Beatrice bringing his birth and baptismal record I wonder? I really thought those papers had to do with Mariana? That is what confused me. Thank you for that.

Anita you are so right about Lucrazy. How in the world would she know about getting Yenny to make those phone calls,although there is one call to Pedro on Cameela's phone when Yenny used it. I wonder if and when he meets Yenny, he will see the resemblence to Mariana. I hope Yenny gives Lucrazy up.

Rosemary Primera you are so right. He would need those to be married in the church. I too think he is going to declare Mariana dead. I don't think he really was going to divorce her, unless he found out she was alive. He really thinks she is dead.
Madelaine--I'll bet you are right about Yenny giving up Lulu. I sure would be ready to if she had yanked me by the hair, grabbed me around the neck and threatened me like she did.

Anita, do you remember that Lucrazy already tried to sabotage the brakes on La Vieja, scowling that if she couldn't have Pedro then nobody would? That girl is homicidal. Luckily that plan didn't work out. Sounds like she is stuck on stupid revenge.
Cap'n loved your line of Panchito looking like a Pekingese lol. He does look like that. I hate the way he eavesdrops on everybody at El Tal just to get info for the Pig. Maybe now Pedro won't beleive Lucrazy. Padre warned him that she was crazy. Padre is a good judge of character. Maybe now Pedro won't believe her so easily. He was quite firm with Lucrazy about moving out of El Tal. I really hope this time he doesn't beleive her.

Anon-about the papers, I think we will find out today what is going to happen with that. I wasn't really clear about what these papers were. Now we will have to wait and see Beatriz pick them up I guess. Maybe the Padre held on to them for Pedro. Do we know if the Padre married Pedro and Mariana?
Madelaine, I don't know if Padre married Pedro and Mariana. I believe they got married in LA, where they were staying at her tia's house.
Also, talking about luggage, can someone tell me if they ever saw Lulu carrying one into Pedro's house? How is she changing clothes? Even bathing suits? Does the Talisman have a closet that provides clothes?

Anon, Loopy Lu orders her clothes online from El Tal*Mart. They had a close-out sale back when Rafael Novoa was going to leave the show and the deals were amazing.
Anon lately--I think Pedro and Mariana were married in a quicky ceremony in the bedroom where her dad was in bed dying right there at El Tal.
But you (one or two anons?) raise a good point. He would have needed the papers (I heard him say birth certificate and baptismal papers) to legally marry Mariana the first time. He's no child, so why would he send his papers back to Padre. He would have needed his birth certificate to get his driver's licence and green card--and for all we know, his citizenship papers, he's had enough time to become a citizen.
Maybe the new writers forgot to go back and read the scripts for the first few episodes.

I think the funniest part of the episode was Rita's faux keister. Who do they think they were fooling? She looked like a duck with the shape it gave her.
Elvira has some nerve calling Fab a tramp when it's fairly common knowledge that she herself was wallowing in the Pigsty while her husband was still alive. I'm surprised Armenso didn't point that out. What a wretched woman she is. It infuriates me that her family continues to enable her. Maria is the most sensible, but telling her she needs to find another guy and marry for love? No, what she needs to do is get a job and take care of herself rather than demanding a life of luxury and sneering at everyone when what they so generously provide isn't up to her uppity standards.

Madelaine--Mariana never lived in Mexico. She was born in Fresno she and her family had lived at El Tal all her life.
