La Que No Podía Amar #70 Tuesday 4/3/12 Lots of bombshells dropped, while a certain douchebag is conspicuous in his absence.

LQNPA La que no podía amar Capitulo 70 April 3, 2012

Lots of bombshells dropped, while a certain douchebag is conspicuous in his absence.

I'll be working on it as soon as my video capture of the episode processes. This time I had to record it in SD (not HD) but eh, it's watchable.

No screencaps from tonight's episode yet, since the capture is still processing. But I will post a gratuitous screenshot from Friday's episode of Rohell, for all of us Jorge Salinas fangirls.

FROM EPISODE 68: Gratuitous Jorge Salinas Screenshot—Rohell enjoys teasing Cupcake by asking her if she can help him take a bath.

Okay, now a brief summary of what happened tonight (events may not be listed in order):

* It turns out that Maripaz is dead, when Mersnotty, Gus, et al find her body, she's been dead for several hours.

Gus carries Maripaz's body as the three brujas look on.

Bruno's reaction when he overhears that Maripaz's body has been found. Viewerville strongly suspects that Bruno knew about her death before the police did.

*Maripaz is clutching something in her hand, but Mersnotty tells everyone not to take it; as it might be considered evidence for the police to deal with.
* The Police Chief connects the dots between Rogelio's drunken brother-in-law and Maripaz, since Miguel (the aforementioned drunken brother-in-law) was the last person to see Maripaz alive. Off to jail Miguel goes. Police Chief and Bruno both know that Mr. Big Shot (Rohell) won't be happy when he hears about this.
* Miguel, of course, has no memory of what happened the night before, since he was busily engaged in embracing his drunken lifestyle. He remains a sad-sack throughout the entire episode, lurching around in a half-stupor at first, and then whining and afraid for the remaining part of the episode.

Miguel (at the police station), is oblivious to what is going on, and is recovering from a busy night of embracing his drunken lifestyle.

* Ulysses and Macaria are beside themselves with worry over where Maripaz is. When Dani unwittingly visits the store, they light into her, assuming that Miguel is somehow involved in Maripaz's disappearance. They have the nerve to accuse her of being pregnant, not even pretending to be discreet about Dani buying a pregnancy test earlier. Dani tells them that she doesn't have to explain anything to them. (Good for her! I know that they are under a lot of duress, but they have no idea of what "privacy" means. Who would want to buy anything from them if they are that nosy and indiscreet?)

Ulysses and Macaria, worried about Maripaz, blab in front of everyone that Dani is "supposedly" pregnant by Miguel. Dani is pretty annoyed by their indiscretion and their jumping to all the wrong conclusions.

* Bruno seems to want for Miguel to be guilty, acting like it's a foregone conclusion that he is. He goes so far as to tell Miguel, "You killed Maripaz!" as poor Miguel is shocked and trying to digest the news of her death. Bruno pretends to want to "help" Miguel, saying that Miguel must confess all to him, his lawyer, so Bruno can help defend him. All Miguel does is continue to freak out and be distressed over the news that a friend has died.

Bruno works hard to try to convince a sad-sack Miguel that he killed Maripaz.

* Maripaz's parents (Ulysses and Macaria) are of course heartbroken when they hear the news of Maripaz's death. Ulysses especially is out for blood, wanting to hang Miguel right then and there.

Horribly shocked at the news of their only child's death.

* Rohell is still AWOL, as is Ernesto. No one knows anything about their whereabouts. Now, unless both guys have been abducted by aliens or something, I think it's very inconsiderate for them to not have left a note or SOMETHING. Come on. Poor Maria is beside herself with worry, as is Cupcake. (I feel worse about Maria feeling worried than anyone! You just don't worry your Nana like that. I'm just saying.)

Maria is in tears and sick with worry, having heard nothing of Rohell's whereabouts.

* Cupcake is all worried about Rohell, while (predictably) Tia is all about what's in it for her. She actually likes the idea of Rohell never coming back, because that means that everything is Cupcake's! Whoa, lady, you have no soul.
* Vainessa plays the devoted, sympathetic sister to Cupcake and comes by to console her. In actuality, she and the rest of the Evil Team are pleased to hear that Miguel has been accused of murder.

Vainessa feigns sisterly concern and visits Cupcake, pretending to give a damn. In reality she's just gloating.  The Gustavito isn't buying her act for a minute.

* The Evil Team don't know where Rohell is either, but are still plotting and planning and figure they can take advantage of Rohell's current absence, as it'll give them more time to dam up the river that feeds water to Rohell's Hacidenda.
* The Sad Sack Miguel has to be held in jail for at least 72 hours while they investigate. Poor Dani, Cupcake and everyone else (except for Tia, of course) are worried about him, while he wallows in self-pity and Sad-sackiness.

The Gustavito tells Miguel that he has to straighten out and no longer embrace his drunken lifestyle.

* Some crap with Mersnotty and her relationship with Ernesto. She hasn't heard anything from Ernesto either.
* Tia visits Miguel in jail and lights into him, blaming him for everything and also assuming he must be guilty. Yeah, like Miguel needs to hear that kind of crap right now.
* There is a funeral for Maripaz, but neither Cupcake nor Rohell attend. Maria apologizes to the grieving parents, saying that Cupcake is ill and Rohell is "abroad." Ulysses wants justice for Maripaz and is worried that since Miguel is the brother-in-law of Mr. Big Shot (Rohell) that he'll not face proper punishment. But Sinthia soberly says that no one is above the law and that justice will be served.
* The Gustavito is being strong and supportive for Cupcake and actually being useful. But unfortunately, during one of their indiscreet conversations at the hacienda (you know, the kind they have where they discuss private matters in public and in not-lowered voices), Sinthia overhears. She comes in just as Gustavito tells Cupcake that he "loves her."  (To her credit, Cupcake was not all rainbows and flowers with Gus, and was more concerned about what Rohell and Sin would think about Gus being her ex-novio.) Well, Sin blows a gasket at hearing all of this, as predicted.

Suspicious Sin listens in.

"Es el colmo!" (It's the limit!) Sin has a freakout. She slaps Gustavito across the face, too, before storming off to tattle to her bro. Who of course is nowhere to be found.

* Sin is all bent to tell Rohell about Cupcake's and Gustavito's "betrayal." She assumes that Gus only got close to her to get to Cupcake.
* In an attempt to reason with Sin, Gus tells her everything. How he and Cupcake were an item, his beating, blah blah blah. But also as important, he spills the beans about Rohell's and Cupcake's marriage contract. Now Sin knows that the marriage is not for "real." I don't like the sound of this at all.

The Gustavito tries to reason with an unreasonable Sin.

* When Sin has her freakout and swears she's gonna tattle to Rohell, the Cupcake is actually quite worried, not just for herself and not for Gus's welfare, but because she hates the idea of Rohell thinking badly of her. She can't bear the idea of this. Tia looks very pleased about this development. Cupcake also just wants things out in the open. She's sick of the worry and dread.

Cupcake is sick with worry about how Rohell will react when he finds out the whole truth.

* Maria warns the Gustavito to not hurt her baby chick, Sinthia. "Better that you leave if you will end up hurting her!" is what Maria sternly says to the Gustavito.
* Efrian bursts through Sin's bedroom window (as is his wont) but a grieved and betrayed Sin welcomes his advances quite enthusiastically this time, using him for comfort. She feels he's the only guy who truly needs her and understands her. Efrian just goes with the flow.

Efrain doesn't hesitate to hop into the sack with Sin, but knows that something is up with her.

* Poor little Margarito is worried about what will happen to him. He's still stuck in his bed with the neck brace on. Cupcake hints that she may be kicked out by Rohell when the sh*t completely hits the fan, but assures Margarito that she'll keep seeing him and looking after him.
* Sin tries and tries to get in contact with Rohell, but nobody knows anything. She tells Gustavito that she won't tell Rohell (not revealing that it's because she can't reach Rohell!) and has a "deal" to offer him instead. END OF EPISODE!! What is this "deal" that Sin has cooked up?

AVANCES: I can't recall off the top of my head, but no previews show Rohell! So he must be still AWOL.

PUT A FORK IN IT, IT IS DONE. SCREENCAPS ARE ALL UP. If you have trouble seeing them all, refresh your browser.

Thank you so much for this recap Elvira. Poor Miguel. When the stuff hits the fan, he is always in the middle of it. I hope they find out who really killed Maripaz.
I knew Skelator would do this to Miguel. Anything to get Miguel out of the way and for Skelator to think he can get the Cupcake, especially since Rohell is AWOL.

It was too sad about Maripaz. Her poor parents are suffering so much, and Ullisyes is out for blood.

I think Sin never understood that there was a contract between Rohell and the Cupcake. I think the Cupcake tried to tell her before but Sin wouldn't listen. Now that Sin knows for sure, she will probably blackmail the Cupcake in some way, like maybe getting the Cupcake to talk Rohell into getting her inheritance. I wouldn't put it past her.

Maria is indeed upset about Rohell disappearing like that. I am glad she was there to console Ms Conny.

Cupcake should not have said anything about that she might have to leave to Margo. The poor boy is now so worried, what will that do to his recuperation? She should have let it go and crossed that bridge when it came. The poor boy will never recover, unless he gets true rest and not all this angst.

The Evil Team was happy there were no pics of the dam. But I think pretty soon when Esteban comes, he'll see this was not a force of nature.

Couldn't stand Vainy being so transparently fake with Cupcake. I am glad Guscake gave her the stinkeye.

I am beginning to think the Cupcake is not pregnant. I think stress is causing this missed period and she isn't taking care of herself.

Elvira: Highlights were good and spot on considering they're just highlites. I envy you. I'm too ADHD to do it. LOL! Awaiting your fullcap and pixes.
==============

ITSA Madelaine: My first angst was for Mgrito. He is the one to come out the worst from all of this now while he's got to let the inflammation die down. It was stooooopid of Pau to give him such bad news!

Elvira thank you for your early recap, you covered everything.
I don't think Bruno is trying to get Miguel out of the way, because Miguel is the glue that keeps AP dependent on him. aP would have walked long ago except for Miguel needing legal help.

thank you so much for the recap. I enjoy this with my donut and coffee while preparing the day. I have one thought about a recent segment. Rohell teases cupcake about helping him in the shower and she blushes (like a virgin). Since she already had sex with gusto and she is having an affair under rohells roof (sneaking looks/longing at each other, discussing their love to each other, a few kisses), it seems out of place to now make her look like an innocent bride/female in general. Any thoughts. That would have been so cute, if she was innocent.

Thanks, Elvira. A busy episode!

Jose Ron is doing better, IMHO, with the role as the situation becomes more complex.

I find the Sinthia character to be so interesting and well played by SG. She has been socially thwarted by the isolation at the hacienda and can't distinguish between friends and foes, good and evil. The neediness is beyond hope. I assume that she is about to set up a contract of her own with Gustavo to marry and continue her affair with Efraim. (Just a guess, not a spoiler.)

So glad that poor, anguished Cupcake didn't fall for Vanessa's fake reconciliation.

I don't know if y'all noticed, but when Vainessa stared meanly pleased at Cupcake, after Guscake caught her at her fake condolences, Vainessa's eyes turned black for a moment! She sure has that space alien stare down.

Thanks, Elvira, for the mini-cap. Very nice!

Audrey

Thanks for the start, Elvira. I can't wait for your fantastic screenshots.

I think Bruno wants Miguel to be accused of the murder so that the guy who did do it doesn't spill the beans about what Bruno has been paying him to do.

They might have thrown all this stuff at us all at once to make 3 days last three weeks until Jorge Salinas comes back. It's easy to do when the story line is complicated and takes days just to sort out events. At least that's my theory.

Ana Paula has been under continual stress ever since her return to the ranch; I'm cutting her some slack here because the stress from the soulless Tia has escalated. It would be a great thing for Rogelio's absence to expose Tia MentiRosa's true nature, but there are almost 100 more episodes to go.

I don't think Ana Paula is pregnant.

Whether she fell for Vainessa's ploy or not it's obvious Gustavo didn't. At least he was there to witness this.

It is entirely possible that Sinthia will make a deal with Gustavo to marry him to collect her inheritance, then divorce. She has no idea that Rogelio is looking to purchase her half of the hacienda and I don't know how that affects her situation. If she gets the cash now she'll leave to see the world. She may take Efrain with her and leave Gustavo to his own devices.

He should just request a job transfer and start over.

Elvira: Great job. Miguel is being given too much screen time. I watch as aired, but it I had recorded it, I would fast forward everytime he appeared.

Funny - Sin getting mad at Gus for cheating on her.

Elvira, we know we're in for a treat, but the highlights are spectacular. Thank you for keeping the image of Rogelio alive for us. More, more....

Poor Rogelio, who always seems to intuit everything about everybody is going to be the last to know that Pau's novio is the very self-same pretendiente of his sister. His quandry is going to be that he likes Gustavo, likes him for Cinthia and well.....we'll have to wait and see.

Here are the people in and around Del Fuerte who know that Cin's Gus is also Ana Paula's Gus.

Ana Paula
Gustavo
Dani
Miguel
Tia Rosie
Margarito
Bruno
Mersnotty
Maria
Federico (QEPD)
and the list grows now with Cinthia
and surely, but maybe behind the scenes, Efrain

Questionable because I can't remember, but probably not or they would have taken advantage of that juicy bit of information.
Vanessa
David
Ernesto - maybe and he would keep his mouth closed

Those who definitely don't know
Rogelio
Hugo

Quite a secret to keep. Cinthia's dim little light bulb has been turned back on, wanting to use this revelation to her advantage--after she got over being mad as a hornet. I agree she will probably use it to try to get her half of the inheritance through AP, since that's all she's been caring about anyway.

Anon at 7:36. To me, AP's blushing when Rogelio pretended to want her to help him with a bath, was a result of realizing it would be a rather intimate activity and would be embarassed.

It probably has nothing to do with her trying to pretend her previous experiences did not exist.

She sees him as an attractive male, knows he loves her and has told her so and she has had the beginning of feelings for him. It puts her in an awkward situation. There were some knowing looks when she realized he was teasing and we all know what he was talking about--seeing him completely exposed to her.
Anita

Elvira, thanks for the highlights.

I already knew Bruno belonged in hell, but the look on his face when he heard Maripaz had been murdered was stone-cold. Can't wait for the day that Rutilio rats him out.

Miguel should be on suicide watch. Poor Dani, sucked in to being Miguel's anchor again.

I'm cutting AP some slack on her talk with Margarito. For all she knows, Rogelio could come home any minute and run her out of the house and block her from reaching Margarito. I think she felt she had to act fast.

Anita, I understand what you are saying and can agree, but I can't help feeling that rohell would not have done that kind of teasing, had he known she was not as innocent as he thinks. That kind of teasing is usually done with an innocent nieve person. I was enjoying their eye contact and other flirtatous looks, but since the episode with Gusto, it took some of the magic of their glances, from me. Isn't it true that the woman is usually a virgin and throughout the novelas, she is challenged and tempted, but in the end, there is only one person. This adds to the excitement and interest in the story???

Anon at 12:16. I'll concede on several points. We don't know if she really blushed...it's the writers that said so and put it in Rogelio's mouth to say, so they must have thought so, making the incident seem a little disingenuous for some. I was ok with it, since I'm still an unswerving Rogeliana.

Times are a-changing in tns, as Jarocha has often pointed out. It's not only rape and mistaken identity that have our heroines sleeping with other guys before ending up with the right one.
Anita

Rogelio would never need a virgin to feel manly even if he couldn't accomplish what is expected of most men. However, I'm sure at this stage that his paralysis is psychological. Perhaps having her assist him at bathing would have been all required to put things right in place, so to speak.

According to IMDB JS is absent from only 5 episodes. I guess some will have flashbacks and others will have hospital scenes shot during his hospitalization. Incredible.

Thanks, Elvira for the run down on all the running around that took place.

There were some close ups of Bruno that made his cheekbones look sharp enough to be classed as lethal weapons. Of course, no one asked who supplied the bottle to Miguel.

Agree about Vanessa's eyes--they did have that shiny evil alien look.

Now that Cin knows about the two cakes, it will be interesting to see what she does (other than jumping back into bed with Effer.)

La Paloma

Yes, the butcher shop cat always comes home to eat. Can't wait for when he gets caught at din-din time.

Thus far only Consuelo and Maria know about that. It would be cool if Gustavo would be the one to catch them (he almost did last night) because he's probably the only one who can make Sinthia keep her trap shut about himself and Ana Paula.

Hello everyone. I am sorry I am so late in fleshing out the recap! Last night I looked at it and thought, "I just can't do anymore right now!"

I hope to add some screencaps and do a bit of fleshing out on a few details and then call it done. It's just been one of those weeks!

Thanks for the recaps and for all of the great comments that add to my enjoyment.

When I saw that JS had fewer episodes than some of the other actors, I was afraid he might not be around in the final episodes ... so I am very, very relieved to find out that he's just missing from some episodes in the middle ... JS just lights up the screen ... the camera loves him ... and I guess I've become a fangirl too.

I found the Maripaz scenes very disturbing, but I can see why the writers had to do it ... to create greater suspense when Rutillo goes after some of the other characters ... and we know he will. Thank goodness the makeup department isn't doing such a great job with the deceased in this TN.

Aleta

I have to give kudos to Julian Gil. His attempts to talk Miguel into pleading guilty were just so darn smooth and persuasive. Shudder! Bruno so SUCH a snake! Yes, those cheekbones are being put to good use.

Pasofina - for your list. Yes, Ernesto does know and is simply discrete. Vainessa and David have NO idea, otherwise they would have been in the thick of it. Don't think Efraín knows either - he would have told Cinthia since he doesn't like her hanging around with "ingenierillo ese".

Cinthia was mainly upset (she says) because she wouldn't have slept with Gus had she known AP was his ex. But Cinthia's track record of casual sex leads us to believe otherwise. I expect her fury is really about being "bested" yet again by her hated cuñada.

Audrey

FYI - Maria only knows that Efrain is in love with Cinthia. Cinthia denied to Maria that there is any relationship, claiming that it was only Efraín panting after her, and not "corresponded". Maria may be skeptical, but she's not sure - otherwise lectures would abound!

Audrey

Audrey---Thank you for the clarification for my list. I wish I could move Ernest up and Efrain down, but I can't edit. I put Efrain in the knows column, surmising that after that hug he and Cin gave each other near the end, she might have told him. With that knowledge, he wouldn't go to Rogelio, but he certainly could pressure Cin to leave the ingenierito (I like his nickname for Gustavo).
Anita

I appreciate this recap with the nice screencap of Jorge. He's so handsome.

You would think that the writers would come up with a better reason to write Rog out of the show during Jorge's absence then his just uncharacteristically disappearing without telling anyone and especially his beloved Nana.

Hated bigmouth Gus telling Cinthia about the contract which was supposed to only be between Rog and AP. Soon the whole town will know at this rate.

Rosaura only cares about money and status trying to get AP to seize her whole as the lady of the house.

I really miss Rog. He brings so much fire to the screen and the show just isn't the same without him. Rog truly is the glue that holds this show together.

She must suspect something is happening but the one thing that would provoke a lecture is actual discovery.

Of course, no matter who catches them, Rogelio will be the last to know.

Audrey: The credit for the list goes to Anita.

Thanks very much, Elvira, for a very helpful recap, even without your superb screenshots.

I can't imagine what kind of "solution" or "offer" Sinthia has in mind. Someone suggested that she'd make a deal with the Guscake to marry him in order to get her inheritance and then divorce. But why would the Guscake agree to this? Just to keep her from telling Rojelio about him and AP? Somehow, I don't think so.

Did anyone notice a fleeting glimpse of Rutilio in the avances? I wonder what he and Bruno will cook up next.

I was just thinking about what Maripaz had in her hand, that Mersnotty told Sin not to touch. Do you think it is one of the hair combs that Miguel made for her? If it is this will provide further "evidence" that Miguel may have done it. I too saw the fleeting glimpse of Rutillo in the advances and they showed Conny at the jail to see Miguel, I hope Ruti isn't stalking Conny and I hope she didn't go alone.

I like UA's theory that Sin will use the information to get Gus to marry her so that she can collect her inheritance. That just seems like something she would do.

Well, I've done as much as I can do today! I added some more details and some screencaps. If you don't see any screencaps, refresh your browser page and they should show up. For some reason I kept on having to refresh Safari to get my screencaps to materialize. Don't know what that's about.

Well, this was an action-packed episode! I wonder what Sin has cooked up! I also like that Cupcake is starting to realize the value of Rohell now that he's missing and now that she's in real danger of losing his good opinion.

I still can't figure out WHY neither Rohell nor Ernesto haven't phoned home. Let's hope there's an explanation for that soon.

Thanks Elvira for the great screencaps too. They are always so great.

Poor AP doesn't know who to call, because the only people Rogelio hangs out with are at Del Fuerte.

If Mersnotty were smarter, instead of trying to endlessly phone Ernesto, she should try the hospital or wherever his office is. If he's there, half the puzzle is solved.
Anita

This just doesn't sound like either of them. The writers must have been caught by surprise when JS was rushed to the hospital (from the set, I'll bet).

Oh - sorry Anita. I don't know how I got so confused as to the author of the list!

Thanks for the pics, Elvira - great ones as usual.

I also conclude that JS's rush to hospital was so sudden and the situation so severe/unpredictable that the writers had to just do the best with what they had left in terms of footage. I think they had to give themselves leeway to write JS out of the script if necessary. Pretty wild! It must just have been crazy on the set, and I wonder if Maria's and Ana Brenda's tears at Rogelio's disappearance come so easily because of their anxiety at JS having to disappear from the set due to a life-threatening medical emergency. Wow! I bet there had to be some serious pep talks.

Audrey

If my memory is correct, JS collapsed and was rushed to the hospital from the set. Those tears from AP and Maria seemed like genuine tears for Jorge and the prayer the prayed seemed to be for him as well. Someone correct me if I'm mistaken.

Thank you Elvira. An action-packed episode indeed. Your screencaps add so much, but I was happy this morning with just your so-called sketchy recap.

I love your asides especially: "Who would want to buy anything from them if they are that nosy and indiscreet?" So true, but very telling about the closed, small-town mentality.

and, "Now, unless both guys have been abducted by aliens or something, I think it's very inconsiderate for them to not have left a note or SOMETHING"—yeah, really. Takes more than a beanie for such uncharacteristic behavior. Even though this blog is supposed to avoid gossip about personalities (thankfully), I think in this case, it's good we know the real reason for Rogelio's absence. I will make his reappearance all the more special.

and cathyx, ITA about "I think Bruno wants Miguel to be accused of the murder so that the guy who did do it doesn't spill the beans about what Bruno has been paying him to do." I'm sure Rutilio will rat him out big time at the first opportunity when all this goes south.

It was friday, when JS disappeared from the set. And it was 59 episode in Mexico.
And the death of Maripaz was planed, there are fotos from the set, when they filmed funeral and JS was there.
So they were realy lucky to have a lot of episodes with JS when he was in hospital.

THanks for the run down Elvira! I *still* have't watched any episodes from last week OR this week's. (Srsly, Univision...can we go back to 8CST)

I am really bummed that Maripaz died and that her parents are suffering. I feel bad for making mean comments about them earlier. :-(

And day-um...how much more is poor Miguel gonna have to go through? Talk about getting the shaft. All.the.time.

Loved your second installment, Elvira.

Anita at around 12:45 I agree with your comment about present Novelas and i too am a JS fan. i never knew who he was till this novela. He is awesome awesome awesome

Fabulous recap, Elvira! Is it just me or do others think that Bruno, a la Rutillo, is behind the death of Maripaz and the disappearance of Rohell? The Skelator Scum Bag is lurking
