La Que No Podía Amar #71 Wednesday 4/4/12 The special "short-term memory" episode with lines repeated over and over and over again

I will try to make this as short as possible, but I will probably fail as usual. I apologize for posting this so late, feel free to stone me :-).

At the Hacienda
Cinthia tries to convince Gus not to talk to Rogelio, since it’s not necessary, because she won’t say a word. Hearing that Cinthia will shut up made Gustavo’s balls shrink of all a sudden. It’s easy to pretend being a MAN, when the other MAN is missing, isn’t it? She says she has an offer for him.

Bruno tells Ana Paula that nobody knows where Rogelio is, therefore she doesn’t have to worry. Did he catch a cold? What’s up with his voice? Goes along well with his coldhearted way of being, I guess. I am so amazed by the wonderful parallel which I made, that I feel the need to scratch that and move on. Man, if you want a good advice, don’t go to Bruno. That’s like saying: Oh don’t worry, they just kidnapped him. Ana Paula can’t calm down; she is worried because she thinks they are wasting time while Mr. HotWheels might need their help. Bruno goes on saying that HotWheels is not used to giving explanations to anyone. Yeah right, he was so silent all this time with Ana Paula, that I almost mistook him for a mime. Bruno promises her that he will talk to Villafane, to see if they can search for him. Bruno tells Ana Paula that they need to talk about something else; he feels conflicted. I’m wondering if Bruno found out that I’m into conflicted guys and he tries to take advantage of this. But no, he is just conflicted because apparently he can’t be Miguel’s lawyer. Ana Paula tries to convince him that Miguel is guilty for not being able to control his addiction to alcohol, but he is incapable of killing someone, even less someone like Maripaz. Ummm…Ana Paula, not to be rude, but he did kill two people while driving, remember? Not on purpose, but he did it. Bruno says he can’t defend him because of ethics, since he is supposed to testify. QUE? Ana Paula can’t believe it. Bruno tells her that he saw Miguel discussing with Maripaz. QUE? X2 “They were shouting at each other.”

Back to Cinthia and Gus. Cinthia tells him what he told her – that the marriage between Ana Paula and Rogelio is based on a contract and that she obviously is in love with Gustavo. Gulp! He is not so convinced of Ana Paula’s feelings towards him. I think if we were to make bets, Gustavo would have 13/2 in terms of odds and Rogelio probably somewhere around 3/10. Cinthia continues to brainwash Gus, telling him that if Rogelio would find out about what they did to him, he would rather kill both than let them be happy. Yeah right! Watch out, we have a bad-ass over here! “I doubt he could do that, I am ready to face him!” Quick, someone give Gustavo the first episodes of the telenovela, where Rogelio is beating the crap out of his workers. Did you see that hand movement? ATTENTION! Entering level two of the “Kinky Zone”. No no…wait, I mean…the movement with the whip. With the whip! “Ha…you still don’t know my brother well!” And guess what, neither do you, Cinthia! I’m wondering if she actually believes what she’s saying. He would probably give Gus a beating, but killing him? Nah…

She offers him a solution in order to prevent all this from happening. All the folks in Viewerville are biting their nails wondering what she is going to say. Using Ana Paula as an example, she says they could do the same and marry with a contract. Gus is impactado.
Back to Bruno and Ana Paula. She wonders why didn’t he try to separate Miguel and Maripaz, if he saw them arguing, but he tells her he thought he shouldn’t interfere, since to him it seemed to be the typical fight between two lovers. “But of course, this doesn’t mean he killed her. However, I imagine you realize what such a declaration means in a trial.”, he continues. Ana Paula understands that he can’t defend Miguel. She says that he himself told her that the evidence is not too concluding, so if there aren’t any more evidences, they should let him go in 72 hours. Bruno remembers her that things are more complicated because of the other trial with the truck and the two people who died. Ana Paula is desesperada. But Sleazeball Bruno knows how to play his cards, so he promises her not to say a word about what he saw; he will do the impossible to get Miguel out. What a great time to step up his game…as if she isn’t busy enough by having to decide between Gus and Roger.

At la fonda
Macaria looks at her daughter’s picture on the wall; Ulises suggests they go home, but she doesn’t want to see Macaria’s room with all her stuff. He tells her they should go through this together, since he loves her very much. Macaria says she would rather die than feel that pain.

At la Hacienda again
Ana Paula is praying again. Attention everyone: New drinking game! Let’s drink every time we see Ana Paula praying. Oh wait…hold on. Ignore Alexandra the sinner! But seriously now, this is just too in my face; do I really have to see her praying all the time? Honey, this won’t make me like you more, I’m sorry. Besides, she’s a hypocrite. She would eat both Rogelio and Gustavo if she could, so she doesn’t impress me with her fake moral. But wait…praise the Lord! (sorry for the pun), Maria suddenly enters the room and tells her she has news of Rogelio. Ana Paula feels relieved, she asks where he is, but Maria has a weird look upon her face, as if Rogelio was in great danger.

Cinthia tries to convince Gustavo that it’s a great idea to marry having a secret contract, just like Rogelio and Ana Paula. And the award for most original idea goes to….Cinthia! “What are you talking about?” Huh…what don’t you get, Gustavo? Cinthia is anything but subtle, deducing what she wants is even easier than 1+1=2. Cinthia tells him they could marry so that she can get her herencia and then, when Paula will be free, they will divorce too and Gus will be able to follow her and be happy away from the hacienda.

Meanwhile, Paula is really worried, on the verge of crying and Maria tells her to calm down, because Rogelio is doing well. Gee, thanks Maria! I would have never guessed that with your funeral face! Maria tells her he went on a trip. Ana Paula is confused, but Maria doesn’t know either where he is; she says he didn’t want to say anything and that he just told her to tell Ana Paula not to worry. “But how could I not worry? He leaves, he doesn’t tell me where and when everything seemed to be fine between us, he didn’t even call me on the phone.” Oh yes dear, because you would have so many things to say to him; like, for example, the fact that your lover is right there at his hacienda.

Back to Gus and Cinthia, he is annoyed that she only got close to him to get her herencia, but she tells him that she actually fell in love with him, but she realizes that he can’t forget Paula. She hugs him, he doesn’t respond.

Back to Paula and Maria; Ana Paula still can’t understand why he is doing this to her. Woman, stop whining! What you are doing is a lot worse. “Why did he get angry with me and left just like that?” He didn’t, but he should. Sorry, is it too obvious that I can’t stand her? “He wasn’t angry; quite the contrary. He just told me that he wanted to do something very important for him and for her.” Ana Paula still wonders what that something could be, but Maria says he didn’t give any explanations. She didn’t manage to tell him anything about what was going on at the hacienda, since the call was cut right when she was about to do it.

Ana Paula asks if he left any number and it’s a no go. “But Paula, don’t think of the worst, you can’t doubt his love!” Sneaky auntie MentiRosa is at the door listening. Maria continues: “The last thing he told me is that you remember that he loves you and that the entire place is yours, since now you are in charge of the hacienda!” Ka-ching!!!! Priceless look on auntie’s face! If you look closely, you can see that her pupils have taken the shape of a dollar sign.

Back to Cinthia and Gus, who are right where we left them. Cinthia tells Gus that if he can only be happy with Paula, then she’ll move out of their way, with the condition that he helps her to get what Rogelio didn’t give her. But nope, Gustavo says he can’t do that. Cinthia insists, saying that it’s a way for him to be close to Ana Paula all this year and that it might motivate Ana Paula to complete with her marriage farce. Heh, she has some pretty good arguments! She left him thinking. I think this is already the third time that Cinthia leaves Gus puzzled…poor guy, in this rhythm; his neurons will burn from extreme forcing.

Ana Paula gives auntie the news about Rogelio and she can’t believe it. Ana Paula thanks Maria for everything; she goes to give Cinthia the news too. They are giggling like two schoolgirls. A-N-N-O-Y-I-N-G. Rosy says that with Rogelio away, it’s perfect, since she doesn’t have to worry that Cinthia might tell him something. But Ana Paula replies that Cinthia told her anyway that she didn’t intend to tell Rogelio anything. Rosy is surprised, but Ana Paula thinks she is doing this to avoid hurting her brother or to protect Gustavo, but auntie believes she doesn’t have any consideration for anyone. Ana Paula wants to speak to Cinthia tomorrow to find out her real reasons. Margarito asks her if that means that she is not leaving anymore. Ana Paula is surprised to see him awake; he tells her he woke up when he heard her talking about Cinthia and that he is happy to hear that she won't say a thing and that he'll pray for that, so that Ana Paula can stay. Oh Ana Paula, you're such a great role model for the boy, teaching him that it's better to cover up your lies than facing the truth. "God, please don't let Rogelio find out that Ana Paula was Gustavo's fiancee and make him come back soon!" BUNCH OF HYPOCRITES! HYPOCRITES! HYPOCRITES! So much mendacity in the air, as Paul Newman's Brick would say. You know, boy, she was more than his fiancee, she was his lover. Margarito is such an annoying kid. He doesn't love Rogelio a bit, he just likes him when he's nice, instead of having genuine feelings towards him. And he continues: "...so that you can adopt me!". Yeah, it's all about the interest, damn you boy!

Back to Cinthia and Gus...this is kinda boring, they are pretty much beating a dead horse, running in circles and talking about the same things over and over again. She tells him she felt betrayed when she found out about him and Ana Paula, but despite everything, she loves him and she wants him to be happy, even if he is not meant for her. She goes on, saying that she knows she won't love anyone else. Keep telling yourself that, darling! That's what Ana Paula said too and look, she formed a Bermuda triangle with Rogelio and Gustavo. She repeats again that she needs to get married in order for her to get her money and she prefers to do it with him. Gustavo tries to calm her down; he tells her he loves her (well, it's more like "I care about you"; Te quiero is a more generic term now, less powerful than Te amo, which implies strong feelings), but he doesn't think that marrying her is the best option. She still tries to convince him that it wouldn't be a real marriage, but like the one between Rogelio and Paula. He is baffled that everything is so easy for her, but she really doesn't see any complication in this. They will only have to get married in a simple ceremony, then divorce after a year. Gus says he doesn't know what to say and she lets him think until tomorrow.

Yay! Finally a stud! Bless the camera lens which captures his every move! Hugo is upset, having caught Dani crying for Miguel. He can't believe that she loves him even though he is a murderer. Oh well, she got over the accident and there were two people involved, one victim more, one victim less doesn't make too much difference. This recapper would like to ask you not to get too offended by her sarcasm. But Dani is sure he is not a murderer and also tells Hugo that despite appreciating him very much, she still loves Miguel. Oh...what's that? Can you hear it? These are the jubilant screams of victory of all the females in Viewerville, who can't thank Dani enough for moving out of Hugo's way. We'll take him, thank you! Go to your moron unibrow drunken good-for-nothing whiner. Girls, let's form a queue and try to win that stud's heart. Dani just knows that Miguel didn't do anything to Maripaz; Hugo can't believe she is so sure, but she just knows it. "El no es un asesino!" "You're blind!!" And you're no Sherlock Holmes, Hugo. Still, I'll take you.

At the delegacia
Consuelo visits Miguel, he is happy to see her, but she is there to find out the truth and asks him if he killed Maripaz. Of course, he says he didn't. No matter how drunk he was, he would have never done such a thing. Consuelo tells him that she found out from Ulises that Maripaz died from hitting her head in the fall. "She seemed to have fought with someone, since she was bruised on her arms." That triggers something in Miguel and he has a flashback where he is drunk as hell, with Maripaz trying to convince him to leave the bottle. We see Rutilio far behind, but curiously enough, even though he appears in Miguel's flashback, Miguel didn't actually see him. She tries to convince Miguel to come with her and takes his arm, but he just didn't want to move and she slips, falling on the stairs, but getting a minor injury, after which Miguel leaves. Miguel asks Consuelo to believe her and he tells her that he remembers that Maripaz got angry with him for being drunk and he thinks that later on, her father tried to separate them. "Entonces fuiste tu!!" Genius, absolutely genius, Consuelo! So the guy starts his story by telling you that it wasn't him, yet you somehow deduced from his story that he was confessing the murder. He wants her to listen to him, but it's useless, she doesn't care even if it was an accident; if he killed Maripaz, she'll never forgive him. Consu leaves.

At Rey Mansion
Bruno is angry with Rutilio, telling him that he got him in a lot of trouble for killing Maripaz. OMG he killed Maripaz! What a shocker! Not...

At la Hacienda
Auntie tells Ana Paula to watch out for Cinthia, because she can't stand her and she never knows when Cinthia might stab her in her back. Auntie says she is going to sleep and tells Ana Paula that she hopes that she will get used to the idea of being the patrona of the whole place. Ana Paula doesn't say anything, auntie leaves. She is back to her prayer mode, but she is again interrupted this time by Gustavo. He tells her that he saw her brother and he calmed him down. And the medal for bravery in face of a terrible challenge goes to....Gustavo! She tells him that if there is something Miguel's afraid of, that's the prison. And being a man. And being responsible. And have balls. Gustavo tells her he'll try to help him. Ummm...how exactly? If it wasn't for the fact that you are staying for free at the 5-star Hotel del Fuerte, you wouldn't even have enough money to rent a room at a pension. Gus, stop attempting to save the day; it's not working. She thanks him and asks him what happened with Cinthia, but he tells her not to worry and to rest, since they will have time tomorrow to speak about it. He assures her she has nothing to worry about, but she wants to know why. Oh Ana Paula, you're so curious, aren't you? She asks Gustavo if Cinthia did it to protect him and instead of telling her a simple "Yes", he repeats again the same "Please rest now." "You're weak and remember what Ernesto told you. Take care of yourself, Ana." Gus leaves and Ana Paula is worried, maybe thinking that it might be too late to take care.

At the Rey Mansion
Rutilio tries to make Bruno confess that he is enjoying the current situation and that he'll gain some profit from it. Fortunately for him, he says, Ana Paula believed him, but they shouldn't have too much faith. "If she only knew how things actually happened.", Rutilio says. Another flashback. Maripaz runs after Miguel, tells him to stop drinking. He tells her to go back to her party. Mari tells him that she knows that Dani is pregnant thanks to the info provided by Ulises and thinks that Miguel is the father, but Miguel says that her father is wrong and that in fact Ana Paula is expecting Gustavo's child. Now we got at the same part that we saw in Miguel's flashback. Still don't understand why Rutilio appeared in MIGUEL'S flashback; they could have just showed Mari and Mig and let Rutilio appear only in his own flashback. Mari falls, Mig leaves and Rutilio sneaks from behind, grabbing her and trying to rape her. She struggles with him, calling him "Poco hombre!" (Scumbag, something like that) and he gets pissed, throwing her to the ground. Bruno appears at the scene. "Que hiciste, imbecil?" "Me? Nothing! She fell by herself!" And in other news, pig have been seen flying on the sky. "You killed her!" "Well, it's better like this, at least she can't say anything anymore!" Bruno tells him to get rid of the body and take her to the river and dump her body there, but Rutilio asks Bruno to help him.

It's the end of the flashback and Bruno tells Rutilio that he will help him because he knows too much, but he also issues a warning, saying that he'd rather kill Rutilio than also taking the fall for his stupid actions. Bruno tells him not to leave the house for the moment and also that when they will accuse Miguel, he shall leave San Gabriel permanently. Rutilio takes out Maripaz's medallion.

At la Hacienda
Maria gives Cinthia the news about her brother and she can't understand either why did he do that. Maria is worried that she got into an argument with Gustavo, because she thinks that a couple should be happy. No s-star-star-t, Sherlock? And the award for the biggest Captain Obvious goes to...Maria! "And if you're not, then you should let him go." But Cinthia can't do it, since she adores Gustavo. She is also worried of what the people might say about her if they will break up, since she is not a youngster anymore. "I didn't marry David, I didn't marry Bruno and now..." Maria tells her not to care about what the people say and Cinthia again touches the Rogelio subject, wondering AGAIN why did he leave. She calls him irresponsible, because he left while they have problems with the water. Maria assures her that if she would know where her brother is, she would tell her. Well, after telling Paula first, of course. Maria can't understand either why Rogelio did that, but they can't do anything about it.

Mercedes tries to call Ernesto, but she gets the voicemail treatment. "No puede ser! Where are you Ernesto?" Some of the eagle-eyed viewers will notice the big envelope placed on the ground, near the bed, which the camera zooms on. How subtle!

Meanwhile, Ana Paula sleeps in Rogelio's king sized bed...and who can blame her? That bed looks comfortable. She has a dream with her and Rogelio. He tells her he feels she is very nervous and asks her what's going on and if there is something she would like to tell him. "Rogelio...Rogelio, I will leave this place and maybe you will end up hating me!" "A ver, a ver, tranquila, tranquila. Why do you say this? I could never hate you! Even less now, when you allowed me to get closer to you. I know that the deadline is in a year....well, I wanted to think that you will stay here forever by your own will." Ana Paula starts crying, says she doesn't know what will happen. "Moreover, I want you to know that all the time I was here, I learned to love you." Aww cute Rogelio smile!
Cut to sleepy Ana Paula saying Rogelio's name.

Back to the dream:
Rogelio: "I knew it, I knew that you would end up loving me. You have no idea how much I love you, I adore you! You have no idea what I am capable of doing for you!" "Rogelio, I don't want you to have too many illusions!" "But why not, since you just told me that you love me!!" "Yes but, there is a big difference. Yo te quiero y tu me amas". Again, "te quiero" despite being often used as "I love you", when it is being compared to "te amo", it indicates that it's not a feeling as strong as the other one. "That doesn't matter, hombre! We have to start it from somewhere. At first you were just my nurse, then my friend, then you hated me, then you stopped hating me and now you like me (but again, "te quiero" it's something a bit more profound than a simple liking) and I know that you will end up loving me." Ah Rogelio, you too? This is the second time you're saying this in less than 2 minutes. "No, no, I can't because...I I can't..." "Tranquila! Stay with me this night, let's talk please!" "I am sorry, not today!" Ana Paula leaves his bedroom. Puppy-eyed Rogelio. Aww :(.

Trivia:
It's more than obvious that this scene wasn't meant to appear in a dream. I am sure they intended to continue the tormented protagonist between two lovers storyline. However, since Jorge Salinas couldn't film anymore because of his health, they just decided to cut this scene out and insert it in a dream. How ironic that she tells him for the first time that he loves him, but that she can't be with him and this is all happening in a dream. Ana Paula, Y U so cruel? Do the damn pregnancy test already. They mentioned her weakened state so many times, that it's not even suspenseful anymore, but plain ANNOYING!
Ana Paula wakes up from her dream, wondering what she is going to do. "Why did you leave, Rogelio?"

Another day at the Hacienda
Dani tells Ana Paula that she can imagine what her friend felt when Cinthia discovered them, but Ana Paula feels relieved that Cinthia said she won't share this happy info with Mr. HotWheels. Dani says that even if Cinthia would want to do it, there is no way to do it for the moment, since HotWheels is nowhere to be found. Ana Paula wonders until when will he be gone, thinking that what's happening is very strange. Dani thinks maybe he left to leave her alone so that she can think better of the feelings she has towards him, but Ana Paula doesn't know. She just wishes him to be there with her, since she misses his support very much. "And Gustavo?" "Gustavo behaved incredibly with me also. This is why I have my heart split in two" The song "Corazon loco" starts in the background. I haven't told you this, but I hate this song with all my heart, I can't stand it!! UGH! It just doesn't fit at all.

Mercedes is with Cinthia, asking her if they will go riding, but Cinthia needs to have a talk with her first. Guess the subject! You have 30 seconds! But you probably won't need more than 5. Bingo! Cinthia asks Mercedes why didn't she tell her that Paula and Gustavo were novios. "You already know it?" D'OH!! Of course she knows it, she just asked you! Gah, how I hate these obvious questions. This is like "Hey mom!" "Hey, did you already wake up?" "Um, no, I am sleepwalking and I'm unconsciously speaking to you!". Moving on. Cinthia tells her that if she considered to be her friend, she should have told her. Mercedes asks her for forgiveness, telling Cinthia that she was worried for what might have happened to Gustavo. "It was horrible to find it out!" "I know, you have no idea how much I would have wanted Ana Paula never to appear in Gustavo's life again!" "Yes, I understand you, but you should have told me! You have no idea how it broke my heart when I heard him telling her that he loves her, especially after I had intimacy with him." Worried Cinthia is worried.
Question of the day: "Did Gustavo use any condoms with Cinthia?"
Options: A) Have you ever seen a fish climbing a tree? Sheesh, of course not!
B) I doubt he knows the meaning of the word "condom"
C) Since he is eco-boy, he probably used a condom made out of leaves, which is as useful as a paper bag over your head during heavy rain
D) Unless someone donated him a pack of condoms, since he obviously can't afford to buy any

But there is hope that Cinthia took the magic pill or that Gustavo's gun missed the target.

Hacienda, Rogelio's office
Ana Paula goes through some papers and is worried that the water issue might aggravate. Telephone rings and she enthusiastically answers, probably thinking that it was Rogelio. But nah, it's just her lovely, cuddly and extremely adorable sister Vanesa. "What do you want, Vanesa?" "Nothing, I just wanted to know if your brother is already out of prison." The big grin on Vanesa's face is a clear indicator of how much the news of the imprisonment of Miguel affected her. "Not yet, but he will get out!" "I don't know, maybe you should step aside and leave someone else or Bruno take care of the Hacienda, so that you can take care of Miguel's problem." "Look, don't worry. I know that I will manage to handle the chores that MY HUSBAND gave me." "I suppose you are overwhelmed with the problems of your family. Well, you are a nurse, but from there to becoming a business woman..." "I know it can be done; you were the daughter from a renowned family and now you are in charge of the packinghouse and run the business of our father. And now that you talked to me, I'm letting you know that I will pay a visit at your office, to check some points regarding the next delivery of the cattle to the Americans. See you later!" Nice one, Ana Paula. Still don't like you, but you won the set.

Mercedes still apologizes to Cinthia, says she really thought that Gustavo could be happy with her, that she would help him forget Ana Paula, because she knows that she does love him. "But he loves that woman, right?" "Cinthia, I feel so bad, but please understand that Gustavo is my only brother and because of what they say about your brother, I was afraid." "Well then, I suppose that that's what brothers do when they love each other. And concerning Rogelio, you are right. He is capable of killing Gustavo. That's why I didn't say anything either."

Second question of the day: Is Rogelio capable of killing Gustavo?
A) Rogeliooo!! Awww!! He's so dreamy! Uh...what did you ask? I wasn't paying attention
B) Well, he does have killer looks though...
C) Bad-asses don't kill, they torture
D) You got to be kidding me! Rogelio killing Gustavo and risking to get his wonderful black shirts dirty with his blood? No way!

Mercedes: "And now what are you going to do?" "I don't know, despite everything, I still hope that Gustavo might get to feel the same, that I could win his love." "Really?" "Yes, that's why I proposed to him, so that I can have my inheritance and he can stay here near Paula." "But that would only distance him from you!" "No, no, Mercedes, look. I hope that once we will get married, he will manage to fall in love with me. I will try to find a way to travel with him, so that he can discover that I am a lot better than Paula and while our marriage will last, I will struggle to make him love me."

Umm, that's all very nice, Cinthia, but there are two problems. 1) He didn't accept your proposal yet. 2) "Ojos que no ven, corazon que no siente" (out of sight, out of mind). I bet it will be a piece of cake to make him forget Ana Paula by seeing her DAILY
Mercedes asks Cinthia what will happen if she won't manage to do it and Cinthia says he would give him back his freedom, even if it would break her heart. Aww she cries.

At la empacadora (packinghouse)
Vanesa explains to Ana Paula that the deal they sealed with the Americans is very convenient for both parties. "Yes, I know, that's why I assure you that you'll have the cattle ready for delivery with all the required certificates. You'll see that everything will turn out to be great." Ana Paula really has the jolly mode going. Vanesa reminds her that she and Rogelio are the only ones who deserve all the credit for closing the deal and that Ana Paula can't presume anything if she hasn't worked on it." Ring ring! Vanesa answers the phone and on the other line is Mr. Williams. She tells him she was just talking about the delivery which will surely be the first of many. Optimistic Ana Paula is optimistic; she keeps smiling all the time. It's quite scary in fact.

But BOOM! Mr. Williams apparently gives her some really bad news, judging by her QUEEEE? Vanesa is impactada. Ana Paula has puppy eyes. Vanesa says it's impossible, she asks him to let her check what happened and that she will get back to him later. Ana Paula asks what happened and Vanesa tells her that Rogelio is a miserable who pretends to ruin her, because the meat he sold her so that she can pack it to California is contaminated with clenbuterol. Ana Paula is terribly impactada.

At the Jailhouse Rock
Dani and Rosy are visiting Miguel; he asks if there are any news, but nope, no luck. Dani says that those 72 hours are almost over and they will surely let him go. Rosy agrees, because they don't have any evidence. Miguel says that he has no idea what will happen to him, but there is something that has him worried. "Is it true that my sister is pregnant?" OH FOR CRYING OUT LOUD! You know how it happens when you keep repeating something. One can only hope that Gustavo is a lousy shooter. Dani tells him not to worry about that, but auntie shoves her and tells him that they don't know, because his stubborn sister didn't want to take the test. Mig says that if she is, it will change everything. Oh really? You don't say! "Ana Paula should stay with the father of her child." Ummm Miguel, since when are you an expert on these matters, as if your love life is at its very best? She is old enough to decide by herself with whom to stay. And since when are you obligated to stay with the father of your child? Sheesh.

Rosy: "Ayyyy sii, as if it was so simple! Do you think she can just tell Rogelio: See you around, I will form a family with the fiance of your sister Cinthia?? He left God knows where and he doesn't know anything about what's happening. Moreover, what do you think that would happen to you if Rogelio would find out? They would send you to prison and you would stay there for the rest of your days!" Ha! Rosy is a true Rogeliana! Dani tries to convince him that that won't happen, but Rosy won't let go. "Do you think that he will still want her with him knowing that she expects a child with someone else? Do you really think that knowing all that, he will keep helping her brother?" Miguel tells Dani to tell Ana Paula not to worry and to take the test and if indeed she is pregnant, she should leave. Ummmm hello! Remember what happened last time when she left? Yep...now shut up!

Miguel continues to showoff his flashes of genius, saying that maybe Gustavo can take Ana Paula with him. Riiight, he can't even pay for himself, let alone for someone else. "What are you saying????", shouts Rosy. "That they should go together, far away!" Dani tells him that things got more complicated while he was busy doing all the unimaginable things, so that he can't stay sober. "She is confused concerning her feelings towards Gustavo, so we will take things calmly and wait for Rogelio to return."

At la empacadora
Ana Paula tells Vanesa that since she knows Rogelio for a long time and she was even about to marry him, she should realize that he wouldn't have done such a thing. Ana Paula defends him saying that if there is anyone who has an excellent control over the quality of his cattle, that is Rogelio. Vanesa says she thought the same, but Williams told her that the analysis showed that the meat has clenbuterol. "Well, even if that's the case, Rogelio is not responsible for it. Why would he do such a thing? His name and prestige are involved too." "Well then, who knows what happened? Bottom line is that the Americans are furious, waiting for me in Tuxtla." Ana Paula wants to go there with her too, because since the hacienda who sold the meat to Vanesa is her responsibility now, she wants to know what's happening and take responsibility and fix it. "You?" "Yes, me! Because apart from that, I am the only person who can sign on Rogelio's behalf!" Vanesa is impactada.

At David's place
Bruno asks him if he made a complaint again for the clenbuterol. "Yes, of course, but I don't know why hasn't the bomb exploded yet against Rogelio." "Who knows?" Bruno is answering the phone. It's Ana Paula, who gives him the bad news and tells him to revise the contract they signed with the Americans because the meat is contaminated. Bruno is fakely impactado of course and tells Ana Paula that this could cost Rogelio millions. After the call, Bruno discusses with David and tells him that the problems are very serious. David doesn't know what Ana Paula is going to do, since she has no idea about the business. "This will end just like we planned it. Bad. Very bad." "Yes, of course, because apart from the fortune that Rogelio will lose, his prestige and name will be so stained, that nobody will want to make business with him ever again." "Yes, nobody!"

At la empacadora
Ana Paula tells Hugo to get ready to go to Tuxtla, since she and senorita Vanesa will have to be there. Ana Paula tells him that she will tell Dani to make her luggage and call for an helicopter. Good guy Hugo follows the orders and leaves. Vanesa says that she either realizes how serious the problem is or she just enjoys flying with the helicopter. I would say it's both. "This is an emergency Vanesa, and I know Rogelio would have done the same! You know what? While you prepare your stuff, I will go to notify my brother and I will talk to Bruno to see what can we do." "YES and you'll have to be very careful with what you'll say, so that you don't blew it, hermanita." "I won't do it, Vanesa, don't worry!" "I hope so, because the Americans will want to receive payment for the damage and you will have to pay them and me for the damage that your hacienda caused me."

Back at David's
Bruno tells David that Ana Paula will go to Tuxtla to talk to the Americans. David says it's the perfect opportunity to throw more clenbuterol and that he will finish the dam that very day, so that the hacienda will completely run out of water. Bruno still doesn't look too happy, but David tries to convince him that everything will be fine. Bruno says he knows it and that he will think of how to arrange all the details, so that they can hit Rogelio from all sides. David says that no matter what, they must avoid affecting Cinthia. Poor guy, he still hopes to get her. Bruno also believes she doesn't want to have anything to do with him, especially since Gustavo is with her too. David however doesn't see Gustavo as a threat, moreover since Rogelio is away.

At la fonda
Macaria asks the Virgin for forgiveness for her sins, thinking that it's a punishment because she was unfaithful to her husband and saying that she regrets it very much. She says she would have given her life in order to still have her daughter alive, since she was the one who deserved the punishment. Efrain enters the scene, says he is very sorry, but Macaria attacks him, telling him not to touch her. He blames him for her daughter's death, saying that he provoked her. She continues to hit him.

At la Hacienda
Ana Paula discusses with Bruno, who tells her that she would have to compensate Vanesa for the losses and that she can receive a lot more money if she will demand them for the moral damage to her packinghouse. Ana Paula is impactada. Bruno wants to go to Tuxtla personally to fix it, but Ana Paula says that she will go. Bruno tells her that she doesn't have enough experience, but she replies that that's why she wants to talk to him, so that she knows her options. Bruno says he'll go with her, but she doesn't let him, thinking that he can help more his brother as a lawyer. Moreover, she says, someone needs to stay there to make sure that the water issue doesn't get more serious. Bruno can't believe that she will go with Vanesa. "I have no other choice, but no matter what, I won't allow that everything what Rogelio built falls down."

At la fonda
Efrain tries to convince Macaria that what happened between them had nothing to do with the death of her daughter, because the sole responsible is Miguel. Macaria says she should have never returned from Mexico City, waiting for her husband instead. Apparently, she returned to get away from Efrain. Efrain repeats the same thing again, that he is not guilty and that Miguel is to blame. He swears that if his patron will help Miguel get out, he'll make sure that Miguel will pay for what he did to Maripaz. "No, it's useless to have more violence...this has no remedy, my daughter is not with me anymore." Efrain suggests that they still continue with the relationship, since in time she'll forget about Maripaz. But Macaria is pissed with the idea, she drives him away.

At the Hacienda
Gustavo and Ana Paula cross paths, she wants to find out everything what happened with Cinthia, but he doesn't want her to have another nervous crisis, so that's why he went straightly to Villafane to find out more about Miguel and apparently, there aren't any evidences against him. Umm and what does this have to do with Cinthia? She asked him one thing and he told her something else. Ana Paula is happy to hear the good news and he tells her he'll continue to take care of the matter. Apparently, he got in touch with a lawyer to find out what else can be done. He'll also see what he can do with the water, so that she won't have this problem anymore until Rogelio comes back. She thanks him and he replies that he just wants her to know that she is not alone. "I know it and I feel very bad for this whole situation, for us, for Cinthia, for Rogelio!" "Ana, this is not the best time to talk about us..." "That's right, you know how I feel! But we have to do it! "Yes...I am just asking you to think things well. Don't you really think that we can fix our relationship?" She pushes gently his hands off her womb and she places her hands there (bad vibe, bad vibe!) , saying that she doesn't know. He tells her that he hopes she will think seriously about it, because on her answer depends his life and every decision he takes. He hopes that now that Rogelio is away, she can realize what she truly feels. "You have to define yourself, we can't go on like this forever." "Why? Why? What's going on?" UMMMMM what do you mean WHY? Ah so you would like to go on like this forever? Harem del Fuerte male version? Seriously...

Gustavo: "You say you have doubts regarding what you feel for me, but are your doubts so powerful that you wouldn't mind me marrying Cinthia?"
Ana Paula is impactada. If she could, she would of course make bigamy legal in Mexico.

Fin del capitulo

I really really really apologize for posting this so late :(!

Can't wait for your recap Alexandra. I can't beleive that the contaminated meat is coming up so soon. I wish the Cupcake hadn't called Bruno. He had such a sick look of glee on his face.

That didn't seem right. Wouldn't it take a while for that stuff to build up to a certain concentration to be detected?

I don't believe this is possible, but it would provide an opportunity to reconcile AP with Vainessa, since both are getting screwed by this. If Vainessa tries to blame AP for it she can always counter with the question as to how that jives with her alleged greed. That's more likely to happen.

However, Bruno will do something to move this in his own favor so that AP will be dependent on him until Rogelio gets back.

As to where Rogelio is, I'm betting he's in a hospital somewhere with Ernesto operating so he can walk again. Maria knows but has been sworn to secrecy in case it doesn't work.

So Bruno knew about Maripaz but was only an accessory after the fact. He has a blood temperature of 0 degrees Kelvin for that.

I just can't believe how all the bad stuff just keeps piling on - and without Rogelio there to defend the hacienda! At this rate he is going to be bankrupt ('cause of course AP will pay everyone off) as well as his cattle and crops ruined before he returns. It's just exhausting! I don't know if I can stomach much more other than to see idiot Sin realize what she has brought on herself.

No more Bruno - PLEASE!

Love how Consuelo just takes the huge leap to Miguel being the murderer.

Audrey

The story's pretty grim right now, but I did laugh once last night - when Mersnotty looks puzzled about Sin's grand plan to have a contract marriage with Gus to win his love and says something like "uh, I don't get it." It looks like Mersnotty is starting to realize Sin isn't dealing with a full deck.

At least now we know what really happened to Maripaz and who was there. I agree Skelator is pure evil. Hope the anvil hits him extra hard.

I guess the police and most of the characters in this TN are putting on their beanies to imagine how skinny little drunken Miguel, who could barely stand up and walk, could lug Maripaz's body (very pretty girl, but no lightweight) down to the river.

Plus Miguel has no vehicle. Even if he had stolen a car, he wouldn't have been able to drive.

Aleta

As several of us have already suggested, Maripaz's necklace will probably turn out to be crucial to identifying her murderer. Rutilio made that pretty clear last night when he brought the necklace out of his pocket to admire it.

UA, my beanie agrees with you: it's rather unlikely for the contaminant to reach the needed concentration right at the start. I tried tightening my beanie, but to no avail. As usual.

It looks like both AP and Guscake are beginning to see how people close to them are not nearly so wonderful as they'd assumed. AP re MentiRosa's delight that Rogelio is missing, perhaps permanently, and Guscake with Sinthia and her coldblooded proposal of marriage so she can get her inheritance.

Waiting for the recap, Alexandra, it should be good one.

The comments are great. The beanie moments are rampant regarding Maripaz. I'd like to add another.

When Maripaz's body was found, she was clutching the peineta and the little carving Miguel had made for her. One of the mean girls (was it Cin?) saw it and was going to remove it and the one who was bent over the body (was it Mercy?) said not to touch it because forensics needed to see the body.

Well, during the fight that we saw in flash-back, Maripaz was really fighting off Rutilio--with *both* hands. How could he have choked her, push her on the pavement, hit her head and with Bruno dispose of the body--still clutching the peinetas. No Way Jose.

I hadn't thought about how Mike would have gotten the body to the river in his condition. This would be something else to help clear him. Of course, the writers may have thought of this, but it will probably be glossed over or forgotten. We have to wait and see.

Yep, tired of Bruno having his finger in every pie and Cupcake around. Now he tells Paula he will have to testify about the argument between Miguel and Maripaz, for ethical reasons, but for her, since she has some puppy dog eyes of her own, he will keep his mouth closed. Oh, the tangled web we weave, etc. etc. etc.

My other beanie moment was Maripaz, screaming at the top of her voice and *nobody* heard her? No passers-by? Only Rut and Bruno in the neighborhood? Puleeze.

I loved the way AP gave Vainy as good as she got. Vanessa snarkily told AP that she was only an enfermera and what did she know about making decisions in such complicated business. Ana P responded in kind by telling Vainy that she was only a lie-around-the-house lady before her father died and here she is at the head of an important empresa. Tit for Tat.

Looking forward the the recap Alexandra. The beanies are definitely being tightened for some of the plots.

I'm sick of Bruno.

When Rog does return, he probably won't have any money left. The baddies are have too much leeway and I don't like it.

Loved AP, sleeing in Rog's room and on his bed in his blanket. She misses him. I was also gld to see Rog again if only in AP's dream. I miss him not being on the screen.

Pirate Babe: I agree with you about APs sleeping on Rogelio's bed. I think the only thing that will come out of this terrible epoca is that she realizes how much she was concerned about him, misses him, and feels that in her role as his wife that she has to step up to the plate and protect his business and interests, in spite of all the angst she is going through. Also, I'm sure all this is not lost on Maria who will tell Rogelio. That AP can even admit her feelings for Rogelio to Gustavo is a big move in his direction.

Here's another Big Beanie moment, and thanks to Juanita for making me think of it.

Any of you out there raising cattle for market? Well, in my limited knowledge, even in the US, they are grass fed on the range until they are within certain months of "ready." Then they are "finished" in a commercial feed lot, where their diet is very carefully monitored. Then shipped "off." The feed that Bruno sprinkled clembuteral on looked like it was ingested by a few cows in a barn-like building and doesn't jive with the *cattle drive* we keep seeing in the flash-back at the time of Rogelio's accident (or passing by the front of Del Fuerte).

Besides how would those two know-nothings, know which herds were the ones destined for the "procesadora" in order to contaminate the feed. Unless they spread it on all the fields.

I don't know how much of this contaminant needs to be ingested for it to register for the meat inspectors to reject the whole shipment. Maybe it just needs one or two carcasses and the whole shipment gets rejected.

Then again, are these meat inspectors testing every carcass or random ones. How would our two know-nothings get around that little problem.

Maybe we are just supposed to believe that the containers David brought back was enough to affect a major portion of Rogelio's herd.

Pardon me, but I'm just marking time until the recap is posted. HA
Anita

Aleta: Welcome! Good catch about Mikey!!
=================
I guess we'll see how Guscakes deals when the proberbial shoe is on the other foot! I vote for him turning hypocrit. Connie was a definite tn moment--conclusion-jumping being the name of the game, ¿verdad?

Great point, Anita. I doubt David was able to get enough of that poison to spread it all over the fields.

Which would probably makes those fields useless for several years.

UA and Anita, I would guess like that the drug would not have had a chance to show up in meat samples, but Bruno asked David if he had made a complaint about the drug ("¿Hiciste o no la denuncia por el clembuterol?") and he replied," Of course." So if the buyers were tipped off and a blood test was done, it would have likely been positive. I would guess that the cattle haven't even been slaughtered yet.

First of all--Alexandra--you threw your whole heart and soul into the recap. I got as far as Mr. Hot Wheels and had to stop and comment. Perfect for him. More later.

Carlos--I didn't catch the notification to be on the alert. That makes perfect sense.
Anita

Thank you very much Anita et al. for waiting. I've seen this episode a long time ago, when it first aired in Mexico and at that time we were all asking ourselves if AP was pregnant or not (the vibes from the recap are exactly what I felt when I first saw the episode, so no spoilers, just genuine thoughts and worries). I still discovered new things that annoyed me and which I didn't notice back then lol. Guess it's true that repeated views can bring up details you omitted the first time around.

I love how Miguel was already almost planning the escape route for the turtledoves, without even knowing if his sister is indeed pregnant or not.

Thanks Alexandra. I know I personally wouldn't want a short recap, so no worries here about that. Would anybody else want a short recap? And I love and appreciate the editorial comments because they either back up what I also thought, or put into words a notion that kind of crossed my mind at the time but I didn't fully develop it, or the comments show me a whole side of something (usually stupidity) that I didn't think about in the first viewing. Thanks again!

Alexandra, enjoyed the recap and your commentary. Thanks for all the details. I take it you really can't stand AP. :D She gets on my nerves at times too, but then I remember how cruel Rogelio was to toy with Miguel's life to get her to marry him. Rogelio had sown his wild oats before his accident, while AP had never even had a boyfriend or lived on her own and in a blink she's married to a man that what's her to fall in love with him pronto. They were just getting to know each other when Bruno intervened and the "you had my novio killed" craziness began.

Thank you Alexandra, I'm sorry, I only just now got around to reading your recap. It was very full of detail.
I like Ana Paula, but I can understand that others might not. And you are right, it certainly is a "Bermuda Triangle" she has concocted. But I really don't see her as a malefactor, just a dope caught in a web of circumstances not entirely of her making. I actually think she has a spine and a sense of decency, despite her inability to make up her mind. Her ambivalence is more appealing to me than Cindy's kneejerk snap judgements.

'...but auntie believes she (Cindy) doesn’t have any consideration for anyone. " A good observation, sometimes the Tia surprises me with how right she is.
