Una Familia Con Suerte #193-194 Wed 4/4/12 when you need to pad your episodes, have a party!

I'm too tired to proof this, I've fallen asleep three times trying to watch the two hours!

Lupe wants to figure out what's the problem with the esquincle's dad.

Arnold will go to the Hallowe'en party at Pancho's since he is leaving Candy plantado at the restaurant to rush to Pina's side.

Pina can't believe she forgave Vince so many times. I've been in that situation and I hated myself just as much.

Vince gets Celeste to come over.

The tiny girl doesn't have a costume. Temo will have the chauffeur come for her.

Women have a sixth sense - Moni tells her dad Pepe sounded weird on the phone. He almost told her about Pepe mashing on Frida.

Pepe talks to his computer rather than writing that email to Moni. Finally sends it.

Cuernavaca cancelled, Ana can go home. Happy meeting with Freddy.

Freddy finds out Moms threw Pops out of the house and won't talk about it.

Vince calls Celeste Candy in the sleepy morning then hides his head under the sheets.

Enzo is mad that Pepe wrote an email rather than call Moni. "what exactly is your relationship with that girl, Pepe?"

Frida's mad Pepe doesn't invite her to the Halloween party. Moni calls but says nothing. She is crying and says they should break up and hangs up. Why do they show us only two inches of her face?

Temo says he's not like Pepe, he is faithful to Melly even though the little one has appeared.

These are serious masks! People can't recognize even their brothers/sisters/sweethearts! Arnold is there.

Fernanda says, let's have a pact of love, of being together always. Kiss to Agustin Lara.

Vince is there!

Kari comes to see Freddy, but only Pina and Adoracion are home. Kari is not happy to hear that Freddy is off with his little flea at the Halloween party.

Kari and Pina go to the party. Maybe they can ruin the party! Pancho lip-synchs to somebody else singing a peculiar song.

He names everybody and they take off their masks. Then, "I smell sulphur" and he unmasks Vince and throws a pie at him, it hits Pina, and a pie fight commences. Kari and Ana hit each other and it's just a big big mess everywhere, who has to clean this up?

Pina seems to have a hangover. Freddy avoids Kari on the way out. Vince hates his breakfast and yells for Candy.

Ultrasound time. Chela and Enzo have the usual fight, should they know the sex of the baby or not? Moni calls crying, her dad recommends she come home and see what's going on and how she feels. Enzo tells her Pepe loves her and she should come back and fight for him. Enzo sees - he says it's a guy.

Pepe has a plane ticket to go to France!

Rebe's parents arrive! The mom is very gusty and admiring, they get along immediately. The dad growls in the background as the mom and Pancho make bad jokes about in-laws.

Adrian calls Ana; he's come to town and wants to take her to dinner. She turns him down - Freddy hears. She tells him everything, which luckily isn't much.

Moni calls Pepe and says she's coming home next day.

The lawyer comes to Avon to see Vince. He gropes Celeste when she comes to announce him, he's got a restraining order and re-initiating of divorce. She's keeping all the houses and the stocks.

Pina can only think of revenge, Arnold wants her to come up with some positive ideas and leave her son in peace. He says she is co-dependent with Vince AND Freddy.

Ana brings sulky Freddy to lunch with Adrian. It doesn't go well. Adrian pays and leaves. Freddy is unattractively jealous. He yells at her.

Frida's car is located, but it's covered with graffiti and has no tires. They bond (and hug) and plan to fix it up at the shop.

Enzo and Candy are planning Pancho's bachelor party.

Lupe has gotten all her permits etc. and the guarderia is ready to open.

Nayeli has burns on her arm.

A famous successful tv guy comes to the party - he could help Candy with her radio show.

Freddy tries to get Kari to go after Adrian.

Pina is going to sell the house.

Vince has a moment of clarity and admits to Celeste (in a negligee) that he's still thinking about Candy.

Tomorrow: Napoleon returns

Thank you so much Melinama for this great recap. Loved the Halloween party. It was really funny. I even had a hard time recognizing who was who. The best part was the pie fight, and I loved the comedian Pancho was imitating. Can someone tell me who that was?

Enzzo was right. Pepe should have called Moni and told her, instead of sending an email. Frida was a little pouty about that party.

Loved Doc Oc and Dona Fer and the music of Augustin Lara. They are so sweet together.

Loved the visit of Enzzo and Chela to the doctor with the sonogram. Like how Enzzo did that kind of Happy Dance to find out they are having a boy.

I like Rebe's Mom. Dona Rebe is really funny, but her dad Julio is kind of a stick in the mud. Hope he lightens up.

Yeah Freddy is jealous, but at least Ana told him about Adrian, and that nothing happened. I am starting to think Adrian is going to pursue Ana. He doesn't look like he is giving up, even though Ana told him she has a novio.

That poor little girl. I hope Lupe and Tomas do something about that. So tiny and being abused, that does not sit well with me.

Arath De La Torre was immitating a famous Mexican commedian who recently passed away. In fact, when this was filmed, Capulina had just died, so this was a way of paying tribute to him.
The commedian's name is Gaspar Enaine, better known as Capulina. I think he was known as "El Rey De La Comedia Blanca", or "The King Of White Humor." His commedy was always very clean and family friendly, which is why he was so well loved. He even had a circus for a while, which was aimed at an audience of kids.
Arath did a nice job with that little tribute and with one of Capulina's songs.
The person who came and spoke at the daycare center's grand opening was a famous radio/TV personality named Mariano Osorio. If I recall, he does a nationwide radio show and has come out with some albums of essays or readings he's done. Quite articulate.
Finally...Rebe's parents are definitely funny. Their complete differences are what makes these two funny. Of course Pancho would get along with his mother-in-law, and of course, his father-in-law is going to be grunting and growling and the complete opposite of his wife. In a commedy like this, it was pretty obvious. Also, Rebe gave us a few hints about her parents, especially when she kept asking her mother not to tell any more bad jokes over the phone.
They will have a story line in the second season of the show.

Thank you Melinama, for this recap. I know the party was filler but the costumes were pretty fun. I have always loved Halloween.

I don't know how you guys keep doing these 2 hour shows. I would fall asleep too.

Did anybody else notice that Candy seems to have dropped a few pounds? She always had a knock-out figure but she seems a little thinner than before. If only she wouldn't dress in such an obvious way...

O that sweet child—I can't stand child abuse in life or in TV. Arghh...

Rebe's mom is a hoot. Dad needs to buy a humor gene.

EJ

Thank you so much JP for the info on the comedian. I wish I could have seen something of his when he was alive. It looked good and I liked the song Pancho sang. Looking forward to the storyline with the in-laws that Mom is a hoot and ita with you EJ bout the Dad, he does need a humor gene lol.

Jim I love that you know these things about the show! So glad you came on board! Thanks!

Oh, and Vins with Celeste yew! She looks like the same age as Freddy. And this obession with Candy. I think he only wants her cause she rejected him. And Pina selling the house. I wonder if she really will?

Melinama, liked the way you zipped through both episodes.

Of all the costumes, I liked Chela's the best. Terrific make-up job.

Hate seeing Pepe so lame. What a chicken to email Moni and not even call. I’m ticked that he and Frida keep acting as if they’re “just friends.”

I liked Fredday's show of jealousy. He could sense that Adrian was the guy that hit on Ana and is not likely to back off when he's not around. His jealousy is probably worse because he remembers all his own past dirty tricks to get someone in the sack.

Amusing that Rebe’s mother is so much like Pancho. Don’t know her dad’s problem, but he should be ecstatic that Rebe wound up with Pancho instead of Orange man.

JP, enjoyed the info on Capulina.

Thanks Melinama for this recap. Lots of new threads here -- to justify the extension I guess.

Niecie, I had the same thought about Rebe's Mom & Pancho. It always seemed incongruous that Rebe was so comfortable with Pancho. He seemed so different from her. Now we see that Rebe, instead of marrying a father substitute as many women seem to do, is marying her mother.

Will we finally find out if there is a reason for those odd eye & mouth shots of Moni? That has been so frustrating.

I like that Chela is having a normal pregnancy. So many TN women seem to go all the way to the birth with nary a baby bump. (Remember the doctora on CME flat bellied with twins yet.)

I hate the story line about the apparent child abuse. I hope they deal with it quickly. The little girl is adorable.

Güera

Corny jokes or not I had some good laughs over Pancho and Mama Rebecca. They are two peas in a pod. I like Guera's comment that Rebe is marrying her mother.

Basta ya with the eyeball & lip shots of Monica.

Enzo was cute when he spotted the sex of his baby. He's really turned into a likeable person after starting out not so nice.

Thanks JPCruzer for the info on the singer/comedian and the cute guy at the guardaria ceremony.

Thank you, Melinama! Somehow even falling asleep you don't miss anything and still put a little fun in your recap.

At least this show's filler is really fun, not just people having the same conversation for the 40th time. I loved the party. Those were some wild costumes. Enzo looked hot even with a green face! Freddy looked sort of dippy, which was funny. And Vins barely disguised at all, but dressed as the devil. Funny.

JP, thanks ever so much for telling us who the comedian and the radio guy are. I knew they must be well-known in Mexico but I had no clue what they were talking about. Makes more sense now.

At first when Pepe said he was going to France, I thought we would have one of those mixups where he goes while she's coming back and they miss each other. But then she actually told him she's on her way. Way to zag where most shows would zig, show.

Has Lupita even met Nayeli's parents yet, or is she just taking her all over town without permission?

Thanks Melinama for the great recap, and thanks JP for the background info. It was obvious that this was a comedian they all loved.

The constumes were fantastic. I loved Chela's!

It totally makes sense to me now why Rebe is so drawn to Pancho and doesn't mind his corny jokes. Yep, she's marrying her mama. I like Mama Rebe. Dad is a stick in the mud, but I did see him crack a smile once with Mama Rebe. Obviously, they love each other despite being so different. It's a good example for Rebe and Pancho, although Rebe isn't a grump like her dad is.

Although it's been a while since we've seen all the parts of Moni's face at the same time, I think we've seen all of it piece-by-piece in the last week or so.

(I do think that's her - it's her voice, at least.)

The one thing we haven't seen, if I'm not mistaken, is her hair. Could that be a clue?

Her hair started fairly short. I wonder what she could have done to it. I guess maybe we'll find out tonight.

I thought Freddy's jealousy was too much. He doesn't seem to trust Ana at all. She was completely honest and gave him no reason to think she'd go for Adrian, no matter how he felt about her. Just saying, "yeah, the guy is guapo, I guess" is not a reason. There are oodles of guapos in the world; doesn't mean you'd want to give up the one you already have and love just because you cross paths with one.

I agree Fred is overreacting, but don't forget what happened to his last girlfriend. Some guapo came along and snapped her up! Maybe that shook up his confidence a little.
