Caray, Caray!

Thank you Cap'n for putting up this header. Oh, my if these are the new writers writing this, they are doing a really good job. Now the Chief Investigator is doing a great job. Pedro tried to throttle Rennie, but the Investigator made him leave, along with Cameela and Tony. He grills Rennie about the check and how does he know Pigorio?
The Investigator knows that Rennie is a scam artist and all this time Rita is hiding in the other room listening in. When she makes her appearance the cop says Oh, I know who you are another scammer!

Margarito, remember him, is now clean and sober and working as a mover, I am assuming in LA. He is thinking about contacting Claudio and maybe Pedro, but isn't sure. His cooworker is trying to talk him into it, when guess who he thinks he sees? That's right Mariana on a cell phone outside an SUV. Margarito calls her name and chases after her, but she is already in the SUV and driving away and doesn't hear him. His cooworker thinks he is crazy, but Margarito swears she looks like the pic that Pedro had of her.

Army gets a phone call from Tia Marina. She is El Viral's sister. She says she is coming to Fresno with her kid, don't know if it is a boy or a girl. Army asks for advice about Fabi.

El Viral finally finds out from Cameela that Pedro wrote a check all those years ago, when El Viral didn't believe him. She is stunned to find out Pedro told her the truth. But she has a hard time figuiring out why Rento had it. Cameela tells her Mom he never had money, he is broke and it aint no joke. Of course El Viral doesn't believe her, but Tony interjects and says something like, "Didn't you ever think he married you for that check? Think about it"

Lookcrazy is still in that hideous outfit, that is skin matching leather,with black front looking chaps. What a fashion statment, not.

Pedro has flashbacks of Cameela and all the fun times. Someone can fill in the stuff I missed. Especially the Rennie stuff.
 

Oh and one other thing. Valentin and Pigorio are talking about Mariana. Pigorio insists she is dead, but Valentin lets him know she is indeed alive. So Piogorio sends him on a mission, I think to make sure she dies. If this is wrong please correct. I don't tape this, I watch it in real time

Things are moving right along. So we have new characters involved. I am so glad to see some new faces and hopefully they are fully functional in the intellegence department. I think some of the current characters need to be taken off life support.

If that was a Mariana sighting, see is looking good. How does Val know that she is alive?

Now, if they would just change the wardrobe personnel. The girls at Bridgett's dress much better than Lulu.

I LOL when Lulu was having a hard time figuring out Pedro's explanations. Maybe those pants are cutting off oxygen to her brain.

The cousin who is coming with Auntie is a boy, and he is about Armando's age and looks a lot like Armando. Convenient for the Jose ruse?

FINALLY some action on the Mariana front! Amazing things happen when someone remembers to write a script.

Lucrezia's outfit is more than bizarre. It is insane! I think the bottoms might be flesh colored tights with black leather patches on the thighs.

Yesterday I think Doris called it a onesie, plus. Jajajaja. Whatever it is called it looks like she has had black leather patches grafted onto just the fronts of her thighs. Honestly, this may be the worst outfit I have ever seen.

I don't know if it is just hoping but the whole show looks like it is being directed differently. Whoa, a script, new characters and direction. Be still my heart!

Margarito returns? That's just got to be because of the new writers. He must have walked off the set saying "Call me when you get rid of those fools with pens".

I hope Julia is right about the lookalike cousins. How funny if F1 and F2 both run towards Armando then F1 tells her sis "no, your's is the other one". Such possibilities!

Julia- That's what I was thinking when they mentioned the cousin. That he'd be a good stand-in for the "twin", Jose. But how does the cousin, who is hopefully named Jose, explain that he doesn't really have a twin?

Did they really get new writers? Things are getting better. It had been a little schizo with characters (Camilla and Pedro) doing thins that made sense and then believing the most ridiculous nonsense (from Lulu and Tony). How great was Tony's anger at that "maldito indio" How dare that stupid jerk be telling the truth about a check? And now he's helping orphans? Bastard!

And can I add Doris to the fashion don't page of the paper? Animal print leggings, fine. Lace top, fine. Together? I guess we should be glad she's not also wearing the mask.

Maybe they took seriously Cap'n Silvia's joke about letting the actors write this and that's why it's improving?

When I was little my mom and aunt told my cousin and I that we were "twin cousins". Only cousins born in the same month in the same year on even days who were girls could be twin cousins. I believed this until I was in high school, and we called in a request to the radio station and the disc jockey told us there's no such thing.
 

Thanks Julie about Army's primo. I think what Rosemary la Otra said probably will happen. Can't wait. Since I didn't see this TN from the beginning, I thought Valentin was the one that was supposed to get rid of Mariana in the beginning. I thought he was the one that dropped her off in LA in the bad part of town.
 

Oh my oh my oh my! Another interesting episode. I can't believe it. Writing *and* directing wrapped up in one hour-long package. And I don't think it's my imagination that the actors are trying harder too.

Kelly, the rumor is that the head writer was fired. I think I believe that they got better/different writers because there has been such a drastic change in the quality.

Is Elvira the most obnoxiously self-centered person ever? It's amazing how everything that happens is always about her Her HER. I loved how Tia Maria commented on Elvira's "difficult and contentious" personality. I was shocked that the only one who didn't suffer from the "can't explain anything clearly" disease was Antonio when he explained to Elvira that Ren married her only to cash the check. Not sure she'll believe him though.

Bring Mariana back!! Can't believe we finally got to see Margarito too. I'm inclined to agree with R la O's theory about him.

EJ, LooKrazy's outfit leaves me speechless. I just don't know what to say about it. Ill-Conceived comes to mind. I kind of liked Doris's outfit of animal print and lace combo. It might be a "fashion don't" but she looked pretty hot.

Madelaine, thank you for the recap. I think you were spot-on with the details. You have a good memory. It was Valentin and Pigorio who kidnapped Mariana and dropped her off in LA.
 

Thanks Cap'n. I can do these short things everyday really, or Anita and I can trade off. I have to say this TN is getting better all the time. It is moving along like crazy. I hope we see Mariana real soon.

Thanks Madelaine (and Anita) for these recaps. I've been watching this whenever possible. Strange that I can understand a lot without captions, and barely understand Abismo even with CCs.
I agree that this show is getting better. Ya might know, now that it is on in the afternoon. All it needs is for someone to insert a firecracker into a convenient orifice of Pedro's and wake him up a bit.

What disturbs me about Panchito is that he is starting to look like Pigorio. He promised Tracey he wouldn't do anything bad, but when he was hugging her, he got that awful Pigorio look on his face. I don't know, I hope he doesn't end up like him.

I think Valentin told Pigorio that Mariana is alive, because Pedro has said all along he thinks she is alive, and I think Panchito overheard it and told Valentin. I think that is how Valentin told Pigorio she is alive. Now where Margarito saw her isn't the same neighboorhood they dropped her off in. This was much much nicer so how is Valentin going to find her is what I want to know.
 

Emilia so agree with you about Pedro you had me lol. I hope the writers start giving him a brain, especially as far as Loocrazy goes. She is one sick, obessed beyotch. And I hope the writers give Cameela a brain too.

I so agree with you Cap'n about El Viral, she thinks it is all about her and the life she wants to be accustomed to live. lol. And she'll use anyone or thing to get it. She is *entitled* by gum and don't you forget it. lol.

I just finished watching the episode and here are a couple of things I caught, which kinda shed a different light on the Valentin-Piggorio conversation.

When Piggo hears from Panchito about Pedro going to the Police Office and it had something to do with Mariana, he worries that she's been found.

Valentin comes in and Panchito leaves the room, so the two men are alone discussing this.

I paraphrase: Valentin says, you see, I told you we should have killed her. I had a feeling that if we didn't, this asunto wouldn't be over and she might show up and cause us all kinds of trouble.

Piggorio is steadfast in the belief that Mariana is going to stay lost and even if she shows up, how is she going to remember what happened to her, she was a bit loca and you can't cure loco-ness.

Valenting continues to worry about the prospect of Mariana showing up again. Piggorio ends the conversation with, if she does and there are problems, we kill her. (I think he means Valentin will be called on to do the job.)

About poor Panchito. I felt sorry for him, too. Here is an extended version:

Piggorio really puts him on the spot while they are in the office. Panchito is trying to tell him what is going on over at El Tal with Lucrecia and Pedro.

He gets a little too excited and accidentally says "our ranch" when he's swearing that Lucrecia won't be permitted to give away any part of El Alca ranch or let Pedro take any part of El Al away from her.

Immediately, Gaggorio picks up on, OUR ranch? It's my ranch until I die and that won't be for a long time. Panchito stammers and tries to tell him that's not what he meant. Well, what did he mean? You want to inherit my ranch, or what?

Panchito swears that no, all he cares about are the non-material things, like his care, respect and recognition as his son.

Nasty Old Dad replies, well, since you aren't interested in the ranch, I think I'll remove you from my will. He lets this sink in and continues. My full-blooded son and daughter have failed me, so I'll leave everything to charity.

Gaggo pours salt in the wound by ordering Panchito to research charities and pick the one he'll leave everything to.

You got all we needed to know about Renato, Rita and the FCDI.

Pedro gets dreamy about Camila, but decides it's too late for him and Camila and it's best to forget her and move on, but he's kicking himself for letting himself go so far with Lulu.

Camila also gets dreamy-eyed when she realizes that Pedro had never put them out in the street the way she believed and had accused him of. I get the feeling she *doesn't* think it's too late.

I have a feeling there'll be an attempt at perdones and reconciliations before long.
 

Anita thank you so much for the Valentin/Pigorio converstion and also the Panchito/Pigorio conversation. I knew I hadn't caught it all. I agree with you about the perdones and reconcilations too. Now that I know what Cameela was thought bubbling. I find the conversations easy to follow here. I don't have any type of cc's and do this by listening and watching the actors move and gesture. This is how I learned Italian and so far it is really helping me with Spanish.
 

i loved it that not only Rennie got grilled but Rita was on the report the cop had... her face was priceless!
And Elviral... boy did she realize how much of an IDIOT she has been!

Marta, ITA about those two scenes. Rita's face was a hoot and ElViral, well I thought her head was going to explode.
 

Madelaine--I admire your capability with a language you are learning. Keep it up, we need another reporter, haha.

They do speak clearly (and repeat a lot), although Camila sometimes talks pretty fast in a higher pitch monotone that lulls me into distraction. Fortunately the Fab&Flo team have side stories because they speak that fast teenage girlie talk most of the time.

I don't have cc's either, although somewhere in the recesses of my brain, the Spanish I have left over comes through. I tape the episode because I know I'll have to rewind and review. Normally I watch the episode all the way through and think about what happened that might be important. Then I go back with my remote and stop and start where something might have been missed, isn't clear or the dialog is important. Then I write, then I type. Now I sleep!

Can anyone give more detail on Elvira finding out she has been scammed. They just keep showing that stupid picture of her hiding behind a wall on the web. Now does she truly hear from the scammers that she's been scammed or is she still not completely believing it?
 

Nellie, she still isn't completely believing it. Cameela told her and Tony told her, but she is still processing it I think. The only thing she does beleive is that Pedro actually wrote that check years ago for El Tal so El Viral, Cameela and Army wouldn't be on the street. I think it today's epi (Thursday) she finally understands. I will be watching today and posting what I saw.

Awesome episode. What a huge and sudden change in quality. My favorite part was Antonio's barely suppressed mirth throughout. Especially when he would instantly switch to a concerned expression when Camila looked his way.

I hope that really was Mariana. She was driving a shiny product-placed Chevy, so that bodes well for her being a significant returning character.
