Una Familia Con Suerte #207-208 Fri 4/13/12 The Audit Begins,The Breakup and Bulimia

Pina and Freddy talk about Ana and going on vacation.

Moni and Pepe break up.

Vins and Candy on their wedding night.

Pancho, Dr. Oc, Dona Fer and Rebe talk about her out of control hormones and Ana's eating disorder.

The New:

Doc Oc gives Ana an checkup to see if she has an eating disorder, she denies it and says she is doing fine.

Pepe tells Pancho and Rebe that he and Moni broke up, and they ask if it is because of Frida and does he love her, he says no he is in love with Moni.

Sandrita and Katita gossip about the auditor that is coming and how horrible and ugly she is. Lamberto mentions this to Pancho too.

Arnold is in the hall and runs into a really beautiful woman he thinks is the new model for Avon. He says the Virgincita brought him a miracle and hustles her to the studio where they take pics of the models. She tries to tell him she is not the model but she poses anyway. He shows her the outfit he wants her to change into; it is a ivy leaf looking barely there bikini. She says no way, and in walks the real model. The lady finally introduces herself to Arnold as Isabella Ruiz the auditor. Arnold almost falls on the floor.

Isabella meets Pancho and is instantly attracted to him. He is liking her too, and they have a funny cartoon of cupid shooting an arrow at them.

Candy and Vins are on their honeymoon. The Chinese guy informs the Napobot that Candy and Vins are on their honeymoon and that they will be back soon.

Freddy, Moni and Karina have their graduation ceremony. Freddy get top honors in his field of study. Ana has come to the ceremony too, but stays in the back. Freddy sees her, but Kari runs up and hugs Freddy and Ana leaves.

Isabella and Jimena, her personal assistant, talk about Pancho. Isabella tells Jimena she is very attracted to Pancho.

Pepe has been helping Frida with her rehab along with Mattias. Pepe tells Frida that he and Moni broke up. She says she hopes it wasn't her fault while she grins. Pepe takes Frida back to work, and tells Mattias he will work for him again. Mattias is happy. In comes Ana Maria Torres, 'La Guerra' a wrestler whose car is acting funny. Pepe takes a look at it and 'La Guerra' flirts with Pepe, Frida is not happy. La Guerra figures this out and tells Frida to go for it. Pepe asks La Guerra is she wants to come to his house to meet his Dad Pancho who is a big fan. La Guerra says she's love to.

Pancho and Isabella talk. They tell each other about themselves. Lupe comes in and Pancho introduces her to Lupe. Pancho tells Lupe that he is very worried about Ana. She doesn't answer her phone and he wants Lupe to find out what Ana is doing. He is very worried.

The audit at Avon begins. Lambi meets with Isabella and she wants the books. He gives them to her and he tells her the world will be ending in 2012! She just laughs.

Pancho calls Rebe and tells her about Isabella. She isn't happy to hear that Isabella is very beautiful. She gets out of bed, checks her hormones at the door and gets dressed and puts on makeup.

Ana is home and Lupe attempts to talk to her. Lupe tells Ana everyone is worried about her especially Pancho. She says she is ok and goes to the bathroom. Lupe finds the diet pills and is very upset. Lupe wants to know why Ana thinks she's fat, and why she keeps eating nothing but salads. Ana tells her she is fine and to leave her in peace. Lupe tells Ana she wants to help her and that she loves her.

Isabella goes to Pancho and tells him there are inconsistencies in documents Lambi gave her. Rebe comes in and meets Isabella she is not happy to see the auditor is so pretty. Pancho tells Rebe he wants to invite Isabella to the house, and Rebe isn't happy but says ok.

Enzzo meets Isabella and Jimena. They are all taken with each other. Isabella wants the fiscal info from Enzzo. Jimena is quite taken with Enzzo.

Ana goes to the kitchen and binges on food. Chucha catches her and Ana asks Chuca not to tell her Dad.

Lupe goes and talks to Tomas at the gym where he has been working out about the diet pills and Ana. They are both very worried.

Meanwhile, Ana is at home in the bathroom throwing up all that food.

Isabella is on the phone with a guy named Raphael, and she is screaming at him about how he doesn't respect her, doesn't love her etc. Pancho walks in and she apologizes to him. He says he came into her office because he and Rebe are inviting her over tonight. She agrees.

Moni and Kari talk. Moni tells Kari that the seperation from Pepe probably caused their breakup and Kari tells Moni Freddy doesn't love her.

Freddy and Pepe are talking and Pepe tells Freddy that Pancho wants to talk to him, cause Ana isn't doing well. Freddy goes to talk to Pancho and Pancho tells him of Ana possibly having bulimia and how she keeps saying she is fat. Pancho says he needs Freddy to help with Ana. He feels Freddy is the only one that can help her. Pancho tells Freddy Ana needs him now more than ever. Ana is having a dizzy spell. Freddy can't beleive Ana has bulima, and promises he will talk to her. He goes upstairs to her room and knocks on the door, but Ana refuses to speak to him.

Lamberto and Katita are leaving Avon for the evening and Lambi offers Katita a ride home. She is very happy. A police car pulls up and the Federales ask Lamberto if he is Lamberto. He says yes. They arrest him for tax evasion. He is shocked!

Advances:

There is something wrong with Ana and she is in the hospital.

Comments:
Sorry it took so long guys. I really hated seeing Ana spiral down the bulima road. From the advances it doesn't look good.

Isabella is looking like a threat. I wonder where this story line is going?

Arnold is making me laugh. He was too funny with Isabella and that bikini. Oh, my goodness.

Thanks for recap Madelaine.

I think Isabella was brought in to make Rebe even more paranoid and whiny. For me Isabella doesn't hold a candle to Rebe in the looks department, pg and all.

Vivi, Pancho confirmed your calculations that Ana is the 2nd child of 4, and later that Lupita was #3. Going going girl!

What the devil was Moni wearing to her graduation - at a distance she looked like a tree trunk with two green limbs sticking out. Upon closer inspcection her sleeves were feathers. What an ugly, unflattering outfit!

Maybe its been mentioned here earlier or everyone all ready knows but I was flipping through and old People en Espanol and there was Rebe with her real life husband - Eduardo Santamarina. I had no idea they were esposos.

Another blurred out "peek-a-booby" in bed, this time from Candy.

I am with you Anon about Moni's "feathered look" lol. According to my daughter, she is 25, she tells me that all things feathered, earrings, necklaces and clothing are really in right now, along with anything zebra striped. She even has a feather necklace that is metal she wears all the time.

Madelaine, feathers may be in but they do absolutely nothing for Moni. She had so many feathers she looked like she could take off to the skies at any moment. Basically all her wardrobe since France has been unflattering. She's not exactly svelte. And the hair!! Geez.

Anon you are so right about Moni about to take flight lol. That outfit was hideous. I haven't liked her clothes or her attitude either since she got back from France. The only thing I like about her wardrobe is that cloche hat she has been wearing. Not the beret that she wears like a mushroom but the other one.

Madelaine, Thank you for the excellent recap. i liked especially your dryly humorous comment that Rebe leaves her hormones at the door so she can dress and put on makeup even if only to go face the menace of a beautiful bumptious auditor! Too funny. The crying hormonal gag was funny but, BASTA!

I hate to see a dozen episodes of the sexy auditor being a real temptation to Pancho. It is so insulting to the beautiful very pregnant wife. I hope the writers have enough sense to just make it silly. and short, please.

The public service message on Ana's bulemia should include how horrible her breath would smell. Freddy should let her know how repulsive she is becoming as a wake up call but she didn't let him in her room yet.

Madelaine- This was a wonderful recap. The bulimia story is hard to watch, but I think they are doing a good job with it. It may also be what brings Freddy and Ana back together. Those pills look like they are bad news and the upcoming hospital scenes for Ana do not look good.

Ditto with the comments about Moni's feathered bolero jacket. Enzzo is a good dad to keep a straight face and say that she looked good. I have liked some of her post France outfits. The second outfit, a colorful strapless full skirted dress was fab. I would love to have it. I also like some of the hats, but not the baret. It's been hit or miss, but all her new outfits do pop.

I don't think the Pancho-Bella thing will go far. Pancho has always had an appreciation for lovely ladies, and quite a few have flirted with him. But his love, attention and devotion has never wavered away from Rebe.

I was excited to see La Guerrera again. She's a famous Mexican boxer, not a wrestler. She was Moni's rival in the ring in Gancho and always looked fierce. Nice to see her looking feminine, sexy and flirty. I also like her indigenous/mestizo that we rarely get to see in these tns. Pepe can't seem to resist any woman who flirts with him. Frida's already getting jealous and posessive, and they aren't even dating!

Nice to see Nayeli looking happy and healthy when she and Temo went to visit Chela and the baby. Chela and Enzzo look so blissfully happy right now. Hopefully their wedding will be soon.

Vivi thanks so much for the info on La Guerra. I liked her and even going out of her way to meet Pancho. I thought that was really nice. I liked how she riled Frida up. You are so right about Frida, she is possessive and not dating Pepe.

I think you are right about Pancho and Rebe. Their love is very strong and even survived Orange Mikey and Chela.

More about La Guerrera here:
http://www.wban.org/biog/amtorres.htm

This is how they sum her up:
"Ana María Torres is that relative rarity, a female who has learned to box in textbook style. She holds her hands up and elbows tucked in, throws straight punches, moves her feet well, and can hit hard to the body to wear her opponent down and to open the way for punishing shots to the head."

Thanks Madeleine. Snappy well-written recap. Glad to see that Ana Maria Torres has popped up again, since I really enjoyed her in Gancho.

Just as happy to miss the PSA on bulimia. Not only does one's breath smell horrible, but there's a similar effect with anorexia. The person's breath just smells like death. Hopefully this is an effective message, but sometimes these PSA's backfire and a whole new tribe of folks think about trying to vomit up their calories. Guys included.

Like Cheryl, I enjoyed your "park the hormones at the door" remark. Probably a good idea for Pancho to park his hormones as well, if he's that attracted to Isabella.

Good recap......I watched most of the show Friday.
Another Amazon, just when I was thinking this show was loosing it's appeal, boom, there she is.

Isabella, or Isabellazon will upset the apple cart at Avon, the Lopez casa, and when Vince get a glimpse......Candy look out.

Here's my list of To Do's that I posted last Monday. Let's see how we've progressed in the last week:

What's left?
-Pina has to become a better person-- Progress made this week with "Nueva Pina"
-Freddy has to become independent-- He's graduated and accepted a job from Arnold.
-Moni has to become self sufficient.
-Pepe has to mature.
-Tomas has to graduate from the police academy.
-All the youngsters have to graduate from college/university and start working-- Moni, Freddy and Kari did graduate.
-Chela and Enzzo's baby needs to be born- Check!
-Chela and Enzzo need to get married.
-Vince has to become a better person.
-Napo has to be outed, and either jailed or killed for real.
-Candy will either be widowed (again), or have to get a divorce. Then she's got to figure out her love life.
-Arnold needs to bust out of the heterosexual closet and come out as straight to everyone. Then he needs to find a girlfriend.

Side stories and secondary characters.
-What will become of the needy girls and boys (Frida, Kari, and Ana's new pretendiente)?
-What will happen to Nayeli?-- Seems she and mom are fine since Dad's in jail and they have Lopez help.
-Will Ado ever find a man?
-Will Goya ever become famous?
-Will Lambi find new love (with the Pancho's secretary)?-- Progress was made when he offered her a ride home, but now he's in jail, so...
-Will Chacho and Sandra tie the knot?-- Everyone keeps talking about them having babies before marriage talk. Seems Chacho has some challenges in the bedroom, but why no talk of marriage?
-How will Doc Oc's declining memory progress and how will Fernanda deal with it?-- Fer is sticking by his side and helping him with his work, but can they keep that up?

Yes, the Ana story is a good one. This is the second time we see Sherlyn play a character with an eating disorder. The first was when she was on "Corazones Al Limite."

OK; I give up -- I am sloooowly being drawn into this TN, so I might as well start recording it. That makes 4 hours of Spanish-language TV per night -- my Spanish is getting a lot better, but I am a dull, dull girl to anyone not on Caray...

I think I've figured out who most of the characters are and how they relate, and the slang I'm just taking as it comes. But I do have one question: now that Vicente and Candi are married, why are they still calling each other "usted"? Is that part of the humor, and I just don't get it?

JP, I didn't realize Sherlyn had done this kind of story before. Thanks.

And thank you, Madelaine, for covering all of the frustrating action. I'm sorry to say that I'm getting frustrated with some of these storylines. I don't think I could take yet another rift between Pancho and Rebeca, or even Chela and Enzo; and I'm sick of the Frida-Pepe-Moni situation already. I think he should dump 'em both and date the Guerrera.

I think Lambi was charged with tax evasion rather than embezzling, but I'm not sure. I thought Isabella and Jimena said something about inconsistencies between the current tax return and the one from 2009? Wouldn't surprise me if Vice had something to do with irregularities in the 2009 return. (And then Candy would turn out to have married TWO crooks!)

Julie- Well, Moni dumped Pepe already, so he's free to do whatever/whomever he wants now. The question is, will it be Frida?

I'm pretty sure that Lambi did not do anything wrong. I think it was Vince too.

Blue Lass- Please do join us! As for the Usted thing, many of our older couples in this tn continued to use the formal tense with each well into their relationships. Pancho and Rebe, Enzzo and Chela, and Candy and Vince. Candy even calls Vince Senor Irrabien a lot. Not sure what that's about. They're all really affectionate, but also formal at times.

I think the "usted" thing is just be a silly way of expressing affection, like a a pair of newlyweds addressing one another as "Mr. Smith" and "Mrs. Smith," or whatever.

Although, I've also noticed that switching to usted often signals anger or disapproval (like calling your kid by his full name), so it's a bit tricky!

¡Gracias, amigas! I just can't get used to people calling each other "usted" in bed. ;}

This show is such a kick. I set it to start DVR'ing tomorrow, because reading the recap isn't enough anymore...

Julie- I watched the tape again and looked up the word, evasion de impuestos and you were right, it is tax evasion. Sorry I got that wrong. I think Vins is behind this too. Remember last week I think it was, when Lambi was trying to show Pancho some tax loopholes and Pancho said never mind, do the taxes right? That was a big clue I guess.

Welcome Blue Lass to our Familia. It is a great show, even though it runs for 2 hours every night. I can't imagine it going back to an hour, it flows just right this way.

Vivi loved your list. You should put it up again next week, to see how are characters have progressed :).

Madelaine, mi amiga from El Tal. You are quite the dedicated recapper. Thanks for the recap.

Yes, Cheryl ITA w/you about the Rebe pregnancy thing. I don't want to sound like I have no sense of humor but its hard to stomach irrational women storylines. And then to add more misery, Rebe's concerned about how she looks and her husband is flirting with another woman.

Vivi, thanks for your list. I hope this TN does resolve these plots.

Madelaine, thanks for a fun recap.

Enjoyed all the comments. Ana's storyline is a good PSA, but one of the things I've always liked about UFCS is the great food they show. But now the bulimia is ruining my TV food appetite.

Madelaine, you're right about the two-hour doses making things flow better, mostly because things get resolved twice as fast, which is a rare delight for a telenovela. I just wish they could stuff two hours' worth of progress into one hour!

Karen, I'm with you about the irrational women storylines. General Hospital recently underwent a major shakeup in its creative staff, and now there are THREE crazy-lady plots going on at the same time. Meanwhile, male characters with established emotional disorders are somehow managing to keep their heads together.

It's pure misogyny and it makes me sick. (And I fully realize that I now sound like a crazed, irrational woman!)

You are too funny, Julie. I personally think we are all getting punch drunk with too many extensions, too many plot subzones running at once. I wonder when they will announce that we are in ultimas semanas?

Moni's wardrobe is unusual but at least Ana has been dressing better except then she goes to hurl with fancey clothes on, that's gotta change.

Karen, I smiled when you said the Re be irrational pregnancy plot was "hard to stomach!" Was that pun intended? Anyway, it was great.

I have always been annoyed by how irrational and screechy that they have women act whenever there's a crisis. Surely not all Latino women go hysterical in every medical situation. But berserk behavior seems to be called for in every plotline. Give me some good ol' Anglo-Saxon phlegm once in a while, please!

Judy, of course the pun was intended (NOT), though your observation is great. Unfortunately, I wasn't just talking about Rebe being crazy, its most of the women in the cast aside from Lupe, who is one of the most sensible TN characters I've seen.

Yes Julie it is sad how "naturalized" crazy women plots are but irrational men are typically not as crazy.

Niece in MD I am so with you about the food. I love to see all the things they eat on this TN. Some I have never heard of before or seen. And it's true about the throwing up. It just throws you off.

I'm still rooting for Team Frieda! But guess the main pull is for Moni to win out in the end. Oh well.
