El Talismán #85 Tue 5/29/12 Roe v Tumor
Labels: Talisman
Second opinion? "Oh Hell no, I trust you you creepy old bastard. Let's operate right away."
The man is unlicensed and there is a hospital in Fresno that will let him schedule an abortion? ¡Por Favor!
There are so many reasons that this could never happen. Informed consent anyone?
Hurrah for Padre Seb. At last someone with some swinging avocados.
My other hero(ine)... Maria:
"Relax, I'll handle this."
Carlos
You take me back to my children's youth--El Not a Cancer Specialist *has* to be Droopy Dog that he resembles best.
Ditz indeed. She should have at least tried to get a segunda opinion, then see what Antonio's reaction would be. Camila always looks anguished when she cries. At least this time she had a reason to be.
Question--Do we know why Elvira went to see Dr. Manuel at his house? We know the urgent thing she needed to talk to Maria about got stuck in her craw.
TURKEY BACON!! Love it (but you still have to grease the skillet)
ENCYCLOPEDIA BROWN!! Love it (I do wish we could persuade him to read to himself
PADRE de la LENGUA LARGA!! Love it (absolutely nothing to say here--just pictures in my head)
CHER DISGUISE!! Love it (all she needed was sequins)
GOLDIE & KURT!! Love it (take *that* Sarita)
Why didn't they tell us long ago that human remains were found in the cabana. We could keep a secret. All El Capitan had to do was to tell Pedro that NCIS is working hard to determine age, sex and how long the bones had been around and we would all have understood and waited for the answer.
So, Antonio isn't going to let Camila talk to servants anymore. She's supposed to be the senora of la casa. How is she going to avoid that. Then he turns around and lets her talk to Tracy--what a guy. I told you all yesterday, he's quite a gentleman.

- I guess that depends on your definition of “man.”
- Personally I think the “clothes on fire” drill is unnecessary for a gunshot wound.
- Angel admits he likes Flor (but why?)
- “Who Wears Short Shorts?” Flor, to school.
There were a lot of truly weird moments. Did you hear the peacocks screaming in the background during the tense outdoor scenes? And Pedro seemed positively proud of himself when he said he loved Camila so much that he'd rather she be with Antonio than dead. What does he want, an award?
It's too much thinking. Who has major surgery without a second opinion, especially when it's arranged by your forced marriage husband who has yet to do anything honest? I hate to say this, but maybe it's best that these people not reproduce. Fresno has enough problems.
I do like Elvira's moral standards though. Cheat on your husband twice and try to kill one of the lovers? Fine. Ruin you kids lives by getting them to go along with your crazy? Fine. But her sister doing the Walk of Shame? Cualquiera!
Will Chercrecia now find injured Pedro? Maybe she can keep him locked in her house the way her brother is keeping Camila! I like the symmetry.
Kelly
Informed consent? We can only wish. I guess not if the dr is unlicensed though. I am dreading that they will take her to the notorious back alley, red hanger in hand.
As if Padre has not been stigmatized enough today with sexual innuendo, you go and add mention of his swinging avocados. lol
Anita - I love your input and your quips to my quips. I think Elvira went to Manuel's just to tell Maria she was a cualquiera. Armando said he knew she was going off cuz she had that "crazy look on her face". lol You know how most kids worry about that mad look on mom's face? Poor Armando knows his mom's crazy look.
Blue - Thanks again for posting this for me. I so totally agree that Pedro wanted us to applaud his grandiose statement that he doesn't really want her dead. Clap clap clap. That's what I mean by one's definition of a man.
R la O
Well it seems this TN is going with crazy in the final weeks. Kelly - great idea about Lucrazy finding and taking Pedro to her lair.
Your whole comment was so funny! Elvira's moral standards! lol. Maria's Walk of Shame in the face of all Elvira's transgressions. What a good point.
Chercrecia - good one!
Now you have me worried that Cher *will* find Pedro and he won't get the medical attention he needs. Nor will he be able to come in and save Camila.
You are so right. Why did they have to make it a cancer scare?
Karen - Angel is soooo much better than mouthy Flor. I always liked F1 better than F2. As long as we are being introduced to new characters, how about a cute little intern comes and works for Maria?
I think the writers are having F1 &F2 with the boys b/c even though the mask has slipped with their parents once all the stuff hits the fan, these girls will need serious counseling. Their entire family is crazy; Pancho though being stuck on pause it the best the Negetes have to offer.
I can't beleive they made it a cancer scare either. Seems Tracy has put 1+1 together too. Cameela should have listened to her.
Can't beleive the Virus. She has alot of nerve. She's just jealous that Maria finally got the nice guy that she tried so hard to get with her lies. Glad Maria stood up to her.
No wonder all the Negrete's are obsessed. First the Turkey Bacon with Don Bernardo's wife, Matilde, Beltbuckle with Cameela and Lucrazy with Pedro. They all get it from Turkey Bacon. I really wish they had told us more about Turkey Bacon's dead wife. He probably killed her.
Didn't Camila have a brain at one time? Maybe she and Armando traded because she has become incredibly stupid while he seems to be getting smarter. I know why he is improving...ahem, Angel, but what's her damage?
I just loved the scene where Maria invited Elvira to move out. We wish!
What a clever and irreverent title. I like how your mind works amiga. And your first observation about Lu wearing tight pants and 4" heels is priceless.
Like Karen says, Panchito is the best they have to offer.
Sylvia - Glad you liked Turkey Bacon. Without initially thinking about it, I noticed the initials TB are also relevant for such a toxic guy.
I hope Pedro, or anybody, gets there in time to rescue Camila. This is an awful plot line.
They get married secretly with the help of his older sister, Virginia, but gets kicked out of the mansion and the life of the Duena. They move to a casita somewhere in the campo.
A bad guy sets fire to the casita and the lands around it but they are both saved by Armando (Guy Ecker), although he's been burned and hospitalized. Rebecca, meanwhile, is pregnant and he's depressed because he has no means to support her and the baby when it comes (this is a parallel story to the other older sister, Patricia).
I'll give you all an update on the formerly marooned pair some other time (he the handy, dandy pool-boy, jack of all trades; she the unhappy wife of old, mean, crook, Ignacio).
