El Mundo de Telemundo, Week of June 11, 2012: Discuss Amongst Yourselves

Hi guys! I'm hoping something in the next line-up of shows catches my interest. I really miss your conversation. I tried Ojo por ojo on Mun2 but found it a huge turn-off. Now, as you've noticed, Telemundo has been running teasers for Rosa Diamante. That's one I'd like to take a look at (if they ever air it!). The actor Mauricio Ochmann is getting star billing and I like him a lot. I notice that Sofia Stamatiades (Hilda in La casa de al lado)is in the cast as well. The story must have something compelling, given the number of remakes: Perla Negra aired in Argentina during 1994 and 1995; and in 1998 there appeared both a Mexican version, Perla, and a Brazilian version, Pérola Negra.

Here's your page. Enjoy!

Ohh, interesting, a new remake of Perla Negra. I've only seen the Mexican version, starred by Silvia Navarro and Leonardo García but I've seen bits and pieces of the original Argentinian one in youtube.

Personally, I really liked the version I saw. The leading character in the story is wonderful: she is loyal, funny, smart, witty and spunky. This is not a story where things just happen to the protagonista, she is the one who propels the story forward. Navarro was fantastic in the role and hopefuly Telemundo's pick will be as well.

CORAZÓN VALIENTE – VIERNES – Part 1

Juan Marcos tells the Reptile that Camilo told him he saw a woman kill Josefina. He then tells her he and Ángela are going to leave the country as soon as they get married. [Example No. 434 of dim-witted protagonists telling the villains what they need to know to mess things up.]

As I was sure would happen, El Jefe tells Sam and Willy that Guadalupe, the ex, is just insanely jealous for no reason. Sam buys it. Willy does not.

Bernie, having shown Evil/Estúpida he can write his thoughts, writes Samantha. EE goes nuts and rips up the paper he wrote on.

Sam comes up with something quite logical: how come Willy can be jealous of Jefe, but she isn’t supposed to be jealous of Lorena. They have a big fight and she throws him out.

Jefe confronts Guadalupe. He threatens her if she turns his son, Nicolás against him. [OK, guys – this is in the category of No They Can’t Do That, Can They?] She says that he was against adopting Nicolás, and she had to beg him.

Willy calls to tell Sam he’s alone in his bed, naked, and there’s a long line of women who’d like to take advantage of him. This is a very cute scene. Unfortunately, after he hangs up the phone, Lorena shows up with all her assets on display in some sexy nighty. She insinuates that she thought he and Sam broke up. He tells her they’ll never be separated.

The Rat tells Vikingo that his call about the bomb gave him time to jump out of the vehicle before it exploded. He tells him he decided to pass as his brother. [Come on! Identical twins and one of them is blonde?] We are then treated to a typical Rat monologue about his plans for vengeance.

Sam is going to be Angie’s bodyguard for a while. She tells her about her plans for her own agency, and wants Angie with her. Ángela tells her about she and JM leaving the country. Sam tells her the agency will be named after Angie’s father: Miguel Valdez, and that she’ll have a desk reserved for her in case she returns.

During graveside ceremonies for Josefina, a car arrives. I don’t think any of us are surprised that Paula, the younger sister of Isabel, has appeared. She’s very beautiful.

Lorena tells Willy she killed her husband. Of course, it’s a fake-out Viewerville moment, like so many others. She tells some yarn about her husband being very ill and not wanting to go to the city for treatment. She says she killed him because he had a hemorrhage and asked her not to save him. She complied. Of course, the camera shows TWO bodies with blood on them in another of her flashbacks. Willy comforts Lorena. She tells him he reminds her of Santiago, her husband. We see a look over his shoulder in which she looks BSC.

Paula moves right into place at her mother’s grave, grasping JM by the arm. Ángela doesn’t look too pleased. And the Reptile definitely gives her a fish eye.

Jefe and Nuñez google Lorena Barrios. They find that she’s an infertility specialist in gynecology. They also discover that her husband died under suspicious circumstances. He was found in bed, murdered, along with his lover. Lorena was a suspect, but they couldn’t prove it. Jefe likes this information.

Paula meets Génesis. The Reptile approaches to introduce herself. You can feel electricity crackling as Paula and the Reptile recognize each other as adversaries. Ángela is introduced as JM’s future wife; Paula doesn’t look thrilled.

Emma messes up breakfast at she and Peralta’s new apartment. She later launches into housecleaning frenzy. Peralta’s mother shows up to let her know Peralta is a neat freak and doesn’t like to eat meat.

CORAZÓN VALIENTE – VIERNES – Part 2

Back at Casa Arroyo Paula and JM reminisce about when she was like a younger sister to him. She says she lives in Barcelona now, and she couldn’t come to Isabel’s funeral because she’d had an accident. JM tells her she should leave his house soon because of all the bad things that have happened.

Willy says he wants to marry Sam, and today. She asks him if he’s crazy. He tells her what’s happened to DD causes him to realize that he shouldn’t waste time. He’s got the whole wedding arranged. After lots of back and forth, she says yes!

Predictably, Jefe picks up Lorena and asks her to work with him to ruin Willy and Sam’s plans.

JM has decided on London and wants to open a new sucursal (branch) of the business there.

The Reptile shows up at Bernie’s bedside and throws EE out unceremoniously. She brags to him about how she killed Josefina.

Paula comes into JM and Ángela’s bedroom and gets on the bed with JM. She tells him she’s lonely and sad. He tells her he felt like her brother. She tells him she was secretly in love with him. Ángela comes in, not too pleased at the sight.

The Rat, pretending to be Camilo, talks with the Reptile. She gives him what for about going to JM and Ángela saying he saw a woman kill Josefina. After he weasels out of it, she tells him that Ángela ruined his brother’s life and doesn’t she deserve punishment. She asks for his help. She wants him to take some things from her house to Casa Arroyo.

Jefe tells Sam he’s scouting places for her new agency. Then he tells her she should never marry Willy. If he’s this jealous now, imagine what it would be like if they married.

Willy comes to the hospital to see Despicable Dad. He gets choked up remembering how strong his father was when he was a child and how he protected him. But he says that now he’s a man and he’s going to marry Samantha. DD grabs his wrist.

Lorena fakes some kind of illness and Willy, already dressed in his wedding suit, picks her up. We then see Sam, the priest, Padre Pedro, and Arturo on a boat waiting for that private wedding Willy wanted.

The Rat shows up with a backpack on to visit his “favorite niece” Violeta.

Gabriel comes to weasel some money out of his brother, Vicente, and is refused. Vicente suggests he try working. Vicente is then on the phone with the Reptile and says something to her about her having killed Josefina. Whoops! Gabriel has come back in. Betcha he’s going to get some money now!

The Rat is putting the scarf that was used to strangle Josefina and the gun that was used to shoot JM’s parents into Ángela’s bureau when JM and Ángela come into the room. He gets to crouch down in his habitual stance watching Ángela and JM get ready to make love.

We see Sam anxiously waiting on that boat for Willy to come. Our worst fears are that Sam will lose patience. But Willy does show up, running down the dock!

CORAZON VALIENTE:

Thanks, Novelera! I enjoyed Emma having trouble with making toast. I thought toasters pop up the bread when it's ready, but that's just me. And then Peralta's Mom coming to check for dust was funny.

Good thing Willy just happened to have that all white suit handy, just in case he needed to get married one day.

And they decided the only witness they needed was Arturo? Okaaaay.

RELACIONES PELIGROSAS Part 1

Things are really getting dire, telling us the end of the novela is approaching. I always like to guess a little at this point (and I'm usually WAY off). The way I see it, we could have a tragic ending, but I sure HOPE not. Mau and Miranda even discuss the possibility, remarking that in the original Tristan and Isolde story, they both died. They also fell in love on a ship, which is where the two are discussing this. Mau says OUR story will be different, with a happy ending. I hope so. I can think of ONE way it could happen. Maybe Miranda could work with Olivia in a trap to bring down JP and his gang, and in return, receive immunity from the child abuse charge. Unlikely. I hope the writers come up with something good, and they usually do.

So back to what happened. Oliveras tells JP you think you're so smart, but one day, you're gonna slip up, and come down HARD. JP doesn't think so, gives the signal, and Walt shoots Olivares in the head. Dead.

Back in the USA, Miranda questions JP about Olivares, and as usual, JP talks his way out. He says, yes, Oli was my suegro, but he had me terrorized. He moved next door to spy on us. He saw stuff. He threatened to turn you in. I HAD to pretend to be his friend, and tell you he was nice Mr. Conti. Are you doubting me again, Miranda? (Sigh. This all seemed quite weak to me, but I don't see how Miranda can think past JP's lies). JP ends with telling her that Olivares went back to Mexico, and won't bother them again. This is true, but of course there's no explanation. Hmmmm.

Clementina tells Benita she could move into the big house, which is all Clem has left. Benita wouldn't think of it. Their sons hate each other. But later, Benita is notified that her landlord sold their place, and she HAS to move. Within a week. So maybe she WILL move in.

Leo needs money to help out his Mom. He answers a modeling ad, gets hired, and has a successful shoot. Small world department, the head of the modeling agency tells Monica, and she realizes it's Andres' son.

Orlando has seen the video of Gonzalo getting Rodrigo and Osvaldo on drugs, tricking them into kissing each other, and filming it. This later caused Rodrigo to commit suicide. Orlando starts choking Gonzalo. I'll KILL you! But he stops, he just can't, and tells Gonzo if he wants, he can file an abuse complaint. But Gonzo won't do this, as he's changed now (except for his revenge plans).

RELACIONES PELIGROSAS, Part 2

Ana chokingly tells Santiago the truth. She's pregnant, but she's not sure if the father is Santiago or Gilberto! Do you want to leave me now? No, of course not. He's a bit shocked, but he loves her.

Now we get some REAL divine justice. Our resident nutcase Julia decides on a new plan to kill Ana. She gets a bottle of some slippery stuff, pours it on the back steps which Ana goes down each day, and waits at the bottom for Ana to slip to her doom, losing the baby, and maybe dying. Ana gets to the top of the stairs when her cell rings. It's Santiago, saying I don't care if it's Gil's baby, I'll love it just the same. Oh, honey, you're so nice, I want to hug you right now! says Ana, and turns around, walking back out the door. This enrages Julia, NOOO!, and she scrambles up the stairs, forgetting the slippery stuff, and SHE then tumbles all the way down! In intense pain, she puts her hand between her legs and it comes out bloody. She's lost HER baby!!!! Hah!

Teresa gives Liz an ultimatum. Pack up your things NOW and move in. I'll NEVER live with my father's lover, replies Liz. I wasn't his lover, I was his FRIEND, says Tere. She takes a breath, and continues. Fine. If you won't follow his WILL, you can stay here in the trailer, and live with no money. You get zero until you're 21. Let's see how you like doing without the things you're accustomed to. She leaves, and Liz isn't so sure about this anymore.

Olivia has finished taping Mau and Miranda talking love on the boat. She calls JP (this was when he was still in Mexico), saying it's not working. We'll never separate those two! I have to turn them in. No, wait, says JP. Olivia sends him pictures and the recording, which enrages him. JP thinks, that dumb cop, her stupid love can't cross me. I'll make sure she loses her career because of this obsession of hers. He also decides to up the ante in Mexico, tells Walt it's time to visit Soledad.

Walt does, and Soledad recognizes him, not from his face, but from the hate in his eyes. This was also the picture Valentina (her maid, whom they killed) showed her of her worst enemy. Walt explains why they want revenge - Soledad seduced their Dad Remigio, even got pregnant by him, but married Avila. Soledad denies that Miranda is Remigio's kid, says she's Avila's, but Walt doesn't believe her. Well, why haven't you killed me, then? Because we want you to watch your own daughter die, by hanging, the same way our mother died! Soledad is shocked and stunned.

Pati tells Joaco she's going to marry Augusto for the money, but he tells her forget about it. No way! Don't do it!

Miranda and Mau had spent the entire night on the boat, making love again. They both now think going to Russia isn't such a bad idea. Little do they know that Olivia has just about snapped, losing all hope, and is ready to turn in the evidence.

Mau is going to try one more thing. He goes to his Mom, saying you've always supported me, and I'm going to trust you with something, because I know you wouldn't betray me. It's been a long time since I was your little helpless son. My love for Miranda is serious, is real, is adult. And Miranda is now expecting my child, your first grandchild!! Miranda knew this, but hearing it from Mau renders her speechless.
(Until Monday, when I think all hell REALLY breaks loose!)

Rosa Diamante - general

Hi Jarocha! Nice to see you here. I appreciate reading your opinion of Sylvia's "Perla". Maybe if Telemundo actually gets around to showing its new version, one of the other stations will rerun this 1998 version.

Anon 06:22, thanks for the promo links!

Hombre, thanks for the great recaps. It sounds like things are really heating up, though I'm not sure how the writers are going to resolve any of this in just three weeks.

Thanks, Novelera,

I'm watching and reading but commenting only occasionally.
I enjoy the summaries very much. What I like most are the dynamics between Wilie and Sam. ...
seemingly very natural and funny and most romantic por supuesto.

I've read stories and seen dramas
where a person whose life has been saved often drives the rescuer crazy because the rescued party
feels obligated to shower endless attention on the rescuer who just wants to be left alone and resume his/her normal life.

In this story, it is the opposite.
The rescuer, Lorena, is
suffocatingly annoying as she sticks to Willie like glue.

Re Camilo, I think Angela and JM could have had probable cause to
summon police and have his DNA tested immediately after he appeared on the scene. This part is just sheer stupidity; however, I must admit his polite, and respectful mild manner is
quite comical in contrast to his true villainous nature.

Hello, Jarocha, always love to hear from you and get an inside edge. I will look for the old verson of PN. I really enjoy the work of SN. Only 3 weeks remaining until the Mexican Presidential election.!

Great recaps, Novelera! But no puedo más! I just can't keep watching disaster after disaster, lie after lie, stupidity after stupidity. And still no mention of últimos capítulos. Is this thing going on forever? I'm quitting. Probably I'll check in every ten days or so to see if anyone is happy yet . . .

CORAZÓN VALIENTE-

I really enjoyed that recap, Novelera.

No prize if you think that Jefe's adopted child is Sam's missing child. Almost too easy.

Not that it matters, of course, but just for yucks, I looked up the witness requirements for marriage in California. It turns out that there are two kinds of marriage licenses in CA, public and private. A public marriage license requires at least one witness other than the officiant. A private marriage license does not require any witnesses but the parties have to sign an affidavit saying that they are living together. Since Sam and Willy are not living together, Arturo isn't going to make it as a witness to their marriage.

Speaking of where Willy is living, when Lorena pretended to faint, Willy called for Ofélia. That would mean he was in DD's house but he supposedly moved out and is in the same building as Sam.

When Lorena showed up in Willy' bedroom in her sexy negligée, it was grotesque to see those enormous fake boobs on the actress' anorexic body.

I, for one, am tired of the rich girl can't keep house storyline. It's been done too much. It's also not a good idea for Emma to be alone in the house all day.

CORAZÓN VALIENTE

Floridia, the only conclusion I can come to about Luis getting away with posing as his brother is that JM and Ángela are certain Luis is dead. They were told he blew up in the car. Of course, in reality as opposed to CSI Telenovela, the lack of any remains in that vehicle would have been discovered right away.

Ángela knew that Luis had a brother named Camilo and she's SURE the Rat is dead, so they believe his story.

Anciana, I read somewhere that the whole point of a telenovela was to keep the two protagonists apart by any means necessary! I still find this one entertaining. The acting is pretty good, especially that by the Sammy and Willy characters. It's SO refreshing to see a couple that tease each other a lot.

RELACIONES PELIGROSAS

Thank you for the recap. It sure was not a good night for Julia, Gonzalo, and Olivares. I couldn't stop laughing when Julia fell into her own trap and rolled down those stairs. It was nice seeing that she's finally starting to pay for all that she has done. I hope they out soon that she messed with Armando's car and caused his accident.

Olivares was such an idiot for trusting JP and going with him to Mexico. I thought that he was smarter than that. I knew that he was going to be a dead man the minute that JP offered him to go with him to Mexico to meet his brother.

I loved how Orlando went off on Gonzalo and choked him. Gonzalo deserves that and more. I don't think he will ever change. I loved how Santiago asked Gonzalo "Who haven't you hurt?" the other night. That is so true. Gonzalo has harmed a lot of people throughout the novela so he deserves what is happening to him.

Thanks again for the recap. I really appreciate all the work that you do. :)

RELACIONES PELIGROSAS

I meant to say that I hope that they find out soon that Julia messed with Armando's car and caused his accident. I also hope that they find out that she been poisoning Ana.

CORAZON VALIENTE

Sure would be nice if we could see some signs that they're gonna put this one to rest. I don't blame the actors, the writing is just so sloppy and hard to accept.

I am however looking forward to the 2 new ones...Rosa and of course the Pablo Escobar one. I get the feeling that with Escobar they're going to treat it much like La Reina and keep it as real as they can. That would be really cool, we all remember what a treat it was to have La Reina each night.

RELACIONES PELIGROSAS

I also don't see how they are going to wrap everything up. There seems to be so much that has to be solved.

I don't understand what the point is of the Augusto character. Why did they bring him in so late? I sure hope that Patty doesn't marry him. She will be making a big mistake if she does marry him.

CORAZON VALIENTE:

Thanks Novelera! Wonderful recap.

We have yet another woman after JM, and he is clueless, as always. I laughed when he jumped up off the bed with Paula when Angela came into the room and gave him the stink eye.

There was a question about how the Rat's twin could have reddish/blond hair. They are fraternal twins (mellizos), so that's why no one is questioning the difference. But there are so many other reasons why JM and Angela should be suspicious of him, but we know those two are lacking in the brains department.

I am also tired of the rich girl who can't make toast or boil water storyline. Emma can afford to at least take a course. I was unhappy to see Peralta's mom, who was one of only two older adults who seemed normal and nice (the other being her husband), transform into a harpy mother-in-law this episode.

Novelera,

Understand your comment, but
Jm and Angela should have double checked facts or at least suspected that Luis' body may have been ejected from the car.

They thought he was dead the first time after his body was allegedly identified at the morgue, so why not be suspicious now? There is so much at stake especially for Violeta.

On the other hand, Angela did not believe her own daughter when she said she witnessed a murder, and after they found out that she did,
nothing much was done about her wellbeing.

I enjoy 2 parts: the scenes with
the children; they are adorable, and the scenes with Sam and Willy.

Still watching but FF between most scenes with Fernanda, Ofelia, Estela, etc.

Enjoy all the comments.

Una cosa más ....

Willy is "living" proof that he survived a plane wreck; why couldn't Luis survive a car explosion? I know; I know; it's a TN - why even question it?

CORAZON VALIENTE

They have created too many characters without knowing what to do with them. Actually most of them don't have any significant role. Just some filler.

seemingly (I hope!) they are going to change the story entirely with the new character, Miguel Gutierrez. Otherwise they must change the title into "corazones obsesivos".

CORAZON VALIENTE:

I think a few episodes back, Angela said she called Mexico, and Camilo's family confirmed that he had left to come to the US. But since the guy here is really Luis, maybe Luis has kidnapped his own brother, and at come point we'll see BOTH of them! (this happened in La Casa de al Lado).

RELACIONES PELIGROSAS:

Thanks for the nice comments. As for how can they wrap up all the loose ends in only a few weeks, we should never underestimate the writers. On one show they wrapped up about 10 story lines in 20 minutes, with plenty of time left for the wedding! That doesn't mean we'll LIKE the way the wrap them up, though :)

Corazon Valiente:

Hi to everyone. I've been watching this novela off and on since the beginning. I've lurked at Caray Caray on weekends to help me fill in the holes since I don't have time to catch up by DVRing. I so appreciate the time and effort it must take to post the recaps. Thank you immensely to all who comment. I recognize a few posters from some of the past Telemundo forums :waving: and it's a pleasure to meet everyone else.

This is a very campy, entertaining novela to me because there never seems to be a dull moment with the revolving door of characters and plot twists. I've found that my enjoyment comes from my playing the whole thing for laughs - kind of like MST3K. Otherwise it would be frustrating. I love the code names the characters have been given (Reptile, Rat, DD, etc.) and the insightful and hilariously snarky comments about them. Kudos! The endless parade of villains and their obsessions, the usual TN cluelessness of the good guys, the disjointed plot flow and editing, and the fact that virtually every main character has been in the hospital and flatlined at least once (but has made a miraculously recovery within two episodes with no apparent side effects) has kept me coming back to see what will happen next. CV is the fourth or fifth novela I've watched and so far it has, hands down, contained more WTF-ery than the others combined.

Fernanda is a really a skanky piece of work -- cut from a similar lunatic mold as Débora in Mi Corazon Insiste and equally as psychotic. DD's new look as a mummy is hilarious. His accident didn't harm his perverted libido. I'm sorry to hear that the actor is ill, however. I was glad to see JJ bite the dust, but in her defense (but not her motives), she was right about needing to get Genesis out of that violent and dysfunctional environment. Violeta needs to be out, too. It's a wonder that they're so well adjusted given what they've witnessed. I also agree with everyone that the Sam/Willy storyline is charismatic and pretty darned sweet. I love it when they're on camera. I hope their wedding takes place tomorrow, but I won't be surprised if someone is shot. I also enjoy the endearing interactions between JM and the little girls. He has more charisma as a dad with them than he does as a lover with Angela. Dude needs to step up his kissing game. They always seem to just mash lips like in those old film noir Betty Davis movies. There's no passion. And really, Angela? You had a child with a man, but you don't recognize him because of a bizarre dye job? Seriously?

Again, gracias a todos for your dedication in keeping lurkers like me up to speed. School will be out in a few days, so I should be able to come back to comment more frequently.

CORAZON VALIENTE

Hi NovelaNewbie. Thanks for the nice words and the great comments. I agree with you 100%. They're not exactly playing this for laughs like Zorro but the rapid-fire plot developments are entertaining. I'll take rapid but silly over a novela plot that doesn't move forward at all.

Hope to see you on the blog when you have more time.

CORAZÓN VALIENTE

I'm chiming in with Jean, NovelaNewbie, to thank you for your comment. Don't feel bad about lurking. We realize we have more readers than posters.

Some have been critical of this novela, but Jean said it perfectly. I'll also take lots of rapid fire changes and additions of new characters to some I've seen where nothing happens for weeks at a time, except the two protagonists mooning at each other about their doomed love.

I agree with you, Newbie, about Juan Marcos and his interaction with the girls. He really seems to enjoy being around them and his face lights up in a very real way when he's in a scene with either of those little girls.

CORAZÓN VALIENTE:

Thank you, Jean and Novelera, for your warm welcomes and responses. It's unanimous! The three of us agree that the fast paced, continually changing estupideces trump the slower than iceberg movements of a conventional novela plot any day. At least both of the main couples are getting some romantic action between being at death's door in hospital beds and/or being incarcerated. Plus we're getting the satisfaction of seeing the villains being temporarily foiled sometimes.

RELACIONES PELIGROSAS:

Thank you Hombre. I have to agree with you I dread the thought of this having an unhappy ending for our lead couple. But honestly from last Friday's episode that's exactly what I thought. I hope it's just a plotline to keep us tuned in.

I hope Mau's mom does right by him, somehow I don't think she will.

Hello! Another lurker here! I haven’t commented, mostly because… I don’t dare and can’t correct my typos after posting, but I haven’t had time either (currently don’t need to study, but we’ll see).

CORAZÓN VALIENTE:

I’m still really enjoying this telenovela. I don’t expect anything smart and amazing. I just expect to be entertained and so far it has succeeded in doing that. (Who knows about the future. I tend to give up when I either get bored or frustrated with stupidity and ridiculousness. There is only so much I can take.) I too like the quick twists and turns and how quickly the plot moves on to the next issue. (Yes, no time to be bored.) I also enjoy the amusingly high body count, the violence/action and the amount of villains and other questionable characters. (There seem to be less “good guys” than “bad guys”, which again: fun.)

After reading comments…I think people in general used to be too hard on Violeta, who is just a little girl and can’t be faulted for loving her father and only later realising (after facing the truth) that he’s a bad person. She hasn’t got the best set of parents and yes, it’s a wonder that she has managed to stay sane with the two involving her in their deadly marital disputes. Luckily, JM seems to be a decent father, especially compared to the array of horrible parents. (I like the tackling of parenthood in this telenovela, even if it’s mainly about how horrible the parents are. In general the relationships between the parents and their kids and how they affect each other seem to be a major theme)

JM has grown on me with his amusing stupidity (and it’s even funnier how he, as a lawyer, seems to have no idea of the law). I didn’t like him at first. The supposedly perfect guy, who ogles his new employee, when his wife suffers (but it’s supposed to be okay, because she’s horrible).
I also like Angie a bit more as well now… (she’s been less self-centred and less of a doormat lately) Their continuous stupidity makes their characters more appealing to me. I guess they fit well together, but I like their interactions with any of the other characters more than with each other. (The first love scene they had together was bizarrely awful) I actually think Angie is the one who comes off as stiff there, and she’s the one who needs to step up… (Not that I really care at this point. :) )

My main reason for my enjoyment is Sam and Willy’s story (although I was quite annoyed during the whole “cheating” issue) I like their interactions and how their strong, stubborn personalities mesh together… and then at times clash. They seem like such a natural couple… and with lots of passion, chemistry and fireworks. Besides, I like the characters individually as well. Sam has been great since the beginning (although she can get on my nerves as times) and Willy has gone through actual character development, which is refreshing.

Fernanda was too incomprehensible to me at first, but her madness and actual feelings (for her family and cat) have made her more… understandable… and interesting.
Bernie is… so wonderfully despicable. (The nickname given here is spot on!) I hope he comes back. Another villain I love to hate is the creepy boss. (Kudos to the actor, who is doing IMO a great job conveying his disturbing lust/love/obsession.) I long to see his comeuppance eventually, and hope it will be good. (On another note, I wish Sam and Willy return married, just to see his face at the news right after he told Sam not to marry Willy. Aaaah… too much to hope, I suppose.)
Btw. I liked Josefina. I mean, se was an awful person, but I liked her outrageous comments and behaviour. Pity she had to go so soon. (Most characters do.)

Oh, and so Camilo and Luis are fraternal twins that clearly look identical? (Anyone can dye their hair.) That makes everyone’s inability to recognise Luis… implausible.

Ugh. I don’t want to rattle on too much, because this is getting too long (another reason I avoid commenting).

RELACIONES PELIGROSAS:

I started getting annoyed with this after the censored gay kiss. It pretty much left a bad taste in my mouth. Then the possibly interesting stories with the kids were shafted for more boring ones, and I pretty much gave up. This started well, but has become a mess. I have watched a few random eps, but can’t find the energy to be interested (maybe now when I have some time). Thanks for the recaps though! I know more or less what’s going on thanks to them.
(Was it btw. ever revealed WHAT exactly was on the video that was SO horrible that Osvaldo and Rodrigo freaked out so much?)

RELACIONES PELIGROSAS:

I went back to the original recaps of this show, and here's what really happened to cause Rodrigo to commit suicide. Gonzalo gave drugs to himself, Rodrigo and Osvaldo. Leo took a cellphone video of them goofing around, high out of their minds. I don't know if there was a gay kiss or anything, but even if so, that's not what caused the deaths. Here's what did:

Osvaldo and Oscar tried to rape Miranda. Mau saved her, and shooed them away. As we know, Oscar later went to jail and was killed there. But Osvaldo and Rodrigo started arguing, Rodrigo saying how could you try to rape that lady? They jumped in a car, Rodrigo driving, sped away, still high, and while arguing about the attempted rape, had a terrible one car accident. A cop approached, and Rodrigo fled, thinking he'd get 10 years for driving under drugs.

Osvaldo was rushed to the hospital, but he died. So Rodrigo, feeling guilty for having driven the car that killed Osvaldo, and fleeing the scene of the accident, killed himself by throwing himself off his balcony. Sebastian, his brother arrived just too late, and had to watch in horror as Rodrigo went down.

So Leo's video just shows Gonzalo supplying drugs to himself, Osvaldo and Rodrigo, and the three of them clowning around super stoned. Since everybody knows what happened later, they all blame Gonzalo (as well they should).

RELACIONES PELIGROSAS:

I think both Oscar and Gonzalo supplied drugs. Oscar's may have been "normal" ecstasy, and Sebastian confiscated those before Rodrigo and Osvaldo could take them. But Gonzalo had some "experimental" drugs, which maybe he also got from Oscar, but which ultimately came from Andres Maximo's company, and these drugs are the ones which made them all act so crazily.

RELACIONES PELIGROSAS

His name is actually Oliver Torres and not Oscar. Oliver is still alive and he is locked up in a maximum security prison.

As for the video it wasn't filmed by Leo. Leo found Gonzalo naked in a bathtub the morning after the wild party The original video was on Rodrigo's cellphone. Sebastian asked Leo to help him unlock Rodrigo's cellphone but Gonzalo asked Leo for help and they must have deleted it from Rodrigo's cellphone and they passed it onto Leo's computer. It was there where Leo and Gonzalo saw the entire video and what was in it. I am guessing that they were all fooling around and possibly had sex but I am not sure about that but judging from the reactions of everyone that may have happened. After viewing the video the first time Leo told Gonzalo that he could delete it and have the video go away by pressing the delete button and Gonzalo did. But the video was never really deleted since Leo had it on his phone and he sent it to all his contacts.

RELACIONES PELIGROSAS

Leo wasn't with Gonzalo, Rodrigo, and Osvaldo when the video was made.

RELACIONES PELIGROSAS:

Thanks, Anon, for the clarifications. Sorry I had it wrong. I think, judging by the reaction of Orlando and various others, they would not have been so super angry at Gonzalo just if the video showed sex. The main thing was the drugs, which led Osvaldo to join in the attempted rape of Miranda with Oliver, which led to Rodrigo speeding in the car and arguing with Osvaldo, which led to the accident, which killed Osvaldo and prompted Rodrigo to kill himself.

CORAZÓN VALIENTE

I love that Willy did show up. I honestly thought it would be the typical other-woman-holds-up-groom scenario. one of the many reasons telemundo novelas are bearable, compared to Univision.

thanks to all for recaps/comments. I am always entertained.

RELACIONES PELIGROSAS:

Thanks. I remember what happened at the beginning of the telenovela, but I thought that there had to be something more on the video besides their being high… and that something had been revealed now. (They did know that they had taken drugs, so that itself shouldn’t have been as much of a shock as what they actually did under the influence... or that’s how I understood it.)

CORAZÓN VALIENTE – LUNES – Part 1

We are treated to an absolutely delightful wedding on board a boat. Willy DOES get there, although late. Sam tells the priest that Arturo is their witness.

Evil/Estúpida arrives downstairs to see her daughter and interrupts JM and Ángela. So the Rat isn’t forced to watch them get it on and gets to get out of their bedroom.

As we could have easily predicted, the weasel Gabriel tells Vicente that his new, well-paid job will be keeping his mouth shut about overhearing that the Reptile killed Josefina Uriarte.

Back on the boat Willy gets bored with the usual vows and makes up some great new ones. He swears to give up his womanizing ways and to do nothing to hurt Sam. Every day he’s going to become a better man and to make her the luckiest woman of all time. Then he can’t find the rings and we get a funny scene of them looking for them. Willy tells the priest not to look at Sam’s rear end as she searches or he might go to hell! Eventually, Arturo shows up with the rings in a pouch in his mouth, and the ceremony is concluded. Wow! I wasn’t sure until the last minute they’d pull it off.

Lorena tells El Jefe that her plan to detain Willy didn’t work. He hints to her that he knows everything about the death of her husband Santiago.

EE tells Ángela she’s not going to London with them; she’ll stay to take care of Despicable Dad. Ángela rightly says it’s odd that she’d stay and care for the probable killer of her husband. Más Estúpida que Nunca says that she knows DD didn’t do it. Angie talks with her about the shortened video in which Miguel said he had committed errors. In the nastiest way possible EE tells her that that error was going to bed with Perla. But she remembers telling Perla about Miguel’s first girlfriend. Ángela tells her mother flat out that Bernie doesn’t love her; he loves Samantha.

Peralta and Emma’s domestic life is not going too well. She can’t cook. She’s burned his shirts. JM comes to try to restore peace. They finally agree that love conquers all.

Vicente still can’t get it up. The Reptile hints she may show some gratitude to “Camilo” for a job well done. Vicente loses it. But she tells him she has her needs and rubs his nose in it.

JM and Willy have decided to dedicate a floor of the building where their business is for Sam’s new bodyguard headquarters. The two gals agree this is to keep them under control!

We see Sam training a bunch of women in shooting and hand-to-hand combat.

Gabriel Porras enters the novela riding a motorcycle. He comes into Sam’s office and says he’s looking for work as a bodyguard. She doesn’t even look up and tells him it’s for women only. He says he’s the son of Miguel Valdez.

They show a commercial I really like, Gael García Bernal advertising Gillette blades. Very cute.

Back at the new bodyguard office, the guy says his name is Miguel Gutierrez. He’s just arrived from Mexico because he recently learned from his mother, on her deathbed, that Miguel Valdez was his father. His mother told him that his father never knew of his existence. He introduces himself, with a sweet smile, to Ángela as her older brother. He’s ready to have a DNA test right away. Sammy hints he might be after money. He tells her not to offend him; he’s after justice. He wants to find the one responsible for his father’s death.

Another mystery. Odd Ofelia shows up at the LA Penitentiary bringing food and clothes. Whoever the prisoner is, he won’t see her and has refused to do so for years.

Evil/Estúpida gets DD to sign what looks like a blank check. [He must be in bad shape!] She tells him she loves him and he better not choose Samantha.

CORAZÓN VALIENTE – LUNES – Part 2

Miguel and Ángela leave on the motorcycle for the DNA test. JM sees them drive off and follows, looking disturbed. But Miguel loses him.

Duval shows Willy a sketch of the guy who was working on his plane that day. He recognizes Luis Martinez. Later Willy shows the drawing to Sam. The ubiquitous Jefe shows up and says that it seems like Luis was trying to kill Sammy instead of Willy. Sam agrees it was probably because she shot him on the boat. They both realize that means that DD did NOT try to kill his son.

Gabriel shows up to repay Emma the money he got from her for the failed art show.

Willy and Sam come to the hospital to talk with and apologize to DD. He writes jamás on the sheet to say that he’d never harm Willy.

Paula drapes herself all over JM just as Ángela and Miguel walk in. He introduces himself to JM as Ángela’s brother. It’s pretty clear that Ángela and her half brother have hit it off very well.

Lorena calls Willy and says she wants to see him. Sam seems ok with this, apparently having decided to trust her new husband. When Willy arrives, Lorena whines on about not wanting to impose and, poor little me, she’ll go back to the beach cottage. Willy says she deserves a better life, someone to love her. She says she’s already found him and plants a kiss on Willy. He gently tells her that he’s not the one. He only loves Sammy.

JM appears to be leaving on a trip. Judging by his conversations with Génesis and Ángela, it appears he’s going to London to find them a place to live.

Miguel comes to see Evil/Estúpida and tells her he knows all about how she threatened his mother so that his father would never know about him. He tells her he’s come back to regain his identity and to find out who killed his father.

The Reptile comes on to “Camilo” while he pretends to be that humble guy. But he does fall onto the bed with her. However, Vicente comes in and points a gun at him!

Ángela finds the scarf in her bureau drawer but can’t seem to see the gun that the camera zeroes in on. She remembers it dropping off her at Casa del Castillo during the wedding party.

JM is at the airport, passport in hand, when two hands come up behind and cover his eyes. It’s Paula, saying she’s going along!

Willy is having dinner with EE and tells her that his father seems a lot better and can write. She lies and says she never noticed anything like that when she was with him. Jefe shows up for some reason to tell Willy he wants the best for Sam. Just then OO runs in saying that Lorena has tried to kill herself. Please.

Miguel sees Sam’s screen at the office and realizes she’s been checking him out. She admits to not being very trusting. He says maybe the two of them are brother and sister!

CORAZÓN VALIENTE

thanks novelera for the great recap.
I'm not a big fan of this show but I've been watching it from time to time, mostly for Samantha. Now another interesting character has come into the story and it seems that there is a great interaction between Miguel and Samantha. loved the last scene of this episode. I think they are hermanos though Samantha strongly said "NO"! anyway I guess the scenes of the two will make me keep watching this show!

CORAZON VALIENTE

Thank you for the recap. I stopped watching this, but yesterday I caught the last act between Miguel and Sam and jumped for joy to see Gabriel. I hope this leads to an interesting development. I regret not seeing everyone reaction to Willy and Sam's marriage, maybe I'll catch it on the web.

CORAZON VALIENTE:

Thanks for the recap, Novelera. Nellie, you didn't miss everyone's reaction to Willy and Sam's marriage. They're keeping it a secret, although I don't have a clue why.

I'm glad Arturo finally brought them the rings. He's very helpful. Next thing, he'll be making them breakfast.

I realize Miguel is the half brother, but if Sam and Angela are having an all ladies bodyguard agency, I think he should not be allowed to be a member. Also, I'm not sure I totally trust him.

CORAZÓN VALIENTE:

Thanks for the recap. :)
Sam and Willy actually do get married! I don’t get why they continue keeping it a secret though. Their vows were great (and amusing) and so in character for the both of them. (As was the unconventional wedding. ;) )
And yes, Arturo saves the day again. :)

So… since it’s evident that Bernie didn’t try to kill Willy, now it’s questionable if he’s even behind Sam’s kidnapping? (Actually even before that…) For goodness sake, he admitted it himself. (Of course Willy has to apologise to his horrible father...) And nobody is telling Miguel Jr. anything. (Hopefully at least this DNA test will be authentic.)

JM following Miguel Jr.’s motorcycle was amusing. If you want to trail someone, might be best to be a little less conspicuous.

Well… a child of Miguel can’t be a bad guy, right? ;) (But I agree that he shouldn’t get any special treatment because of that.)

RELACIONES PELIGROSAS, Part 1

They keep turning it up, a notch at a time, each night, more and more.

Amazingly, Carmen IS moved by Mauricio's pleas. I think both Mauricio and JP should go into sales. They're so smooth. Mau tells his Mom he wants her grandchild to have two parents. He himself sort of had only one, as his Dad was always on that boat. The only way the nieto can have 2 is if Carmen stops helping crazed Olivia. Also, Mau and Mir may have to go far away for a while, although he won't tell Carmen where.

After he leaves, Olivia comes to see Carmen, asks, did he admit it? Carmen has changed, says he didn't tell me anything, now get out of here! Olivia is not happy.

Augusto tells Pati he has to go to Russia in a cargo plane tomorrow. But you're terminally ill! Yes, but business continues, he says. Pati is going to work something to get Mau and Mir on that cargo plane. Olivia would be checking regular flights, but not this. Pati tells Miranda and Mau they do have seats, for the crew, so even though Miranda is pregnant, she'll be okay for the flight.

Olivia, undeterred, has gotten a court order from a judge for DNA testing, and triumphantly presents it to Miranda. Miranda rips it up, and criticizes Olivia for her sick obsession. Why can't you let us be?!!! And what even gave you the idea to accuse me of being pregnant with Mau's baby? Oh, says Olivia, you can't trust everyone.

Miranda thinks maybe JP has betrayed her. She accuses him, but as usual, he twists and turns things so she's not sure. He also wants to get Olivia in trouble (as do several people, and I'm pretty sure her career is toast, she slept with a witness she was supposed to be protecting, among other things). At least Miranda knows enough not to tell JP that she's leaving the country.

She does tell her Mom, who thinks it's for the best. Get away, as soon as you can! Miranda notes her Mom's voice sounds frightened, but of course Soledad doesn't mention Walt's threats.

RELACIONES PELIGROSAS, Part 2

Benita needs work, so she asks Ana if she can have a job cleaning the school. Sure enough, there's an opening, and she starts right away. Gonzalo sees her, and is furious his Mom is "humiliating" him again by working at cleaning the school. Santiago goes to show Ana the famous video of Gonzalo giving drugs to Rodrigo and Osvaldo, apparently challenging them to kiss each other on the mouth, etc. Benita views the video, realizes her son is not so perfect. Ana does, too, says, maybe I can refer you to a group of parents of kids on drugs. Leo and Gonzalo both get the same text at the same time, from Liz. It says "I'm in the trailier. Come right away." Neither realizes the other got it, too.

Julia has in fact lost the baby. She now has a quandary. She wants to kill Ana, but Ana could be carrying a baby who could be a donor for little Bea. If I killed her, I'd be killing my own child! I'm not sure this will totally deter her. She decides she needs to get the rest of her eggs, or Santiago's sperm, and pay some private company to do the in vitro. But this will cost money. Her latest plan to get money. Gilberto is told, don't seduce Teresa, seduce LIZ! She's the one with the actual money, and you'll really have fun, since she's underage! Gilberto is definitely up for THIS!

But Julia could have some problems. Benita in her cleaning job found some weird slippery stuff on the back steps. And she found blood. And she found this little necklace, which she gives to Ana. Later, Santiago sees the necklace and says, wait a minute. I think that belongs to Julia!

And Santiago was also called to the hospital because Bea fainted. Hector says she's okay now. But later Santi notices a bruise on Bea's head, behind the ear. He asks Bea, did Mommy hit you? Yes, says the sweet little tyke!

Benita decides she IS going to live at Clementina's house. She and Gonzo will also work to pay for rent. Gonzo and Leo aren't too happy about this. They both leave to go to meet Liz, at Yesi's trailer. Leo arrives first, and Liz tells him despite the fact that he's not his Dad, if they had kids, how could she tell her child, one of your abuelos killed your other abuelos! So they're through. Gonzo shows up, and Liz starts to tell him that she's through with him, too.

Will Mauricio and Miranda really get on a cargo plane to Russia? Will Olivia stop them? Will JP get desperate? What will Carmen do? How about Pati? Tonight there's no show, due to a soccer match. So we'll have to wait until Wednesday to find out what happens next!!

CORAZON VALIENTE

Fabulous recap, Novelera!! Willy and Sam's wedding was so cute with them making up their vows and the patient priest and Arturo saving the day.

This novela is quite a family affair. We had Sonya Smith who played Isabel, her mother Ileana Jacquet who played Josefina and according to the Internet, Gabriel Porras is married to Sonya Smith.

I hope Miguel Gutierrez turns out to be a good guy. I'm tired of characters turning up who look good at first and turn out to be bad - Lorena; Jefe; Gloria; Marshall and others that I've forgotten.

I wonder who Odd Ofelia is visiting in prison. It couldn't be her son even though we've never seen him.

3/4 of Ofelia's lines are: "Te buscan."

Why did Angela just leave the wrap in her drawer? Wouldn't she think it was suspicious that a wrap that was lost in the vicinity of a murder would just turn up in her drawer with no explanation? Oh wait, we're talking about Angela.

CORAZÓN VALIENTE

It's pretty obvious to me that Sam and Willy are keeping their wedding secret so we'll have more schemes from Lorena and El Jefe, still thinking they have a chance.

I'm 99% sure Miguel Gutierrez is going to be a good guy. I also think Porras looks great with that beard. He's got a more noticeably Mexican accent than others in the cast.

Kihaku, I don't think anyone except Estela has let Despicable Dad off the hook for Sam's long-ago kidnapping. He admitted it to Willy, and Willy finally told Sam after they reunited. They did realize he hadn't arranged for the plane to be tampered with. Bottom line: Willy does love his father and was happy to discover he hadn't tried to kill him. Thus the apology.

Estela has delusions of grandeur. I think it's more about being the lady of the house at Casa del Castillo and having good disposable income than real love. I guess they had a good time in bed, and she fixated on him. She's never going to admit to anyone that she heard him confess to the kidnapping and saw him push Darío off the roof because that would interfere with the hoped-for gravy train.

NovelaObserver, Sam and Miguel are half brother and sister, just like he is with Ángela. Sam doesn't think so because Despicable Dad bribed a doctor at the clinic where they had a DNA test to falsify the results.

As far as the prison visit, I've forgotten OO's son's name. They keep saying he's in Scotland, but could that be a coverup for being in prison?

CORAZON VALIENTE

For some reason, I can recall that OO's son by Dario is named Rodrigo. Why I can remember that but not remember lots of important things, I don't know. I thought that when Dario went to Europe to find his son, DD had him move somewhere else. Who is running Dario's business? He left it to his son but he doesn't seem to have turned up and no one is concerned about that.

I hope you're right and Miguel is a good guy. It would be great to have the "Hijos de Miguel" team. Porra's cute. I only saw him in La Reina del Sur and those bits of La Casa del Lado that I watched.

CORAZÓN VALIENTE

thanks a lot novelera for the explanation. So Sam is surely Miguel Valdez's daughter.
I agree with you about Gabriel Porras looking great with that beard.

I think all the viewers will get angry if it turns out that Miguel Jr is not a good guy. There are too many villains already.

Jean, "Hijos de Miguel team" is a great idea :)

Corazon Valiente
Novelera, another great recap!
I did wonder if it's really Rodrigo that OO is visiting in jail. But, earlier, Bernardo seemed to be in charge of Rodrigo's education, expenses, etc, and even sent him to Paris (I think to avoid having Dario find him in Scotland). So Rodrigo is the heir but as Jean says, who is running the huge empire?
Are there any spare women to pair up with the new brother, Miguel? I would let him work at my all-female bodyguard agency any day, Hombre!
:o)
J in Oregon

CORAZON VALIENTE:

Miguel could pair up with Paula, the sister of the character played by Sonya Smith, the real life wife of Gabriel Porras. Stop her from bothering JM!

CORAZÓN VALIENTE:

I don’t know if the creepy boss and Lorena would let an official marriage stop them. :)
In the telenovela-verse I don’t get Sam and Willy’s decision. I understand that they wanted to keep the ceremony secret, but after that…? (Besides, Willy already told his father, but of course he won’t be telling anyone for a while.)

I expected Willy to apologise for thinking his father would kill him (he loves him regardless anyway), but it just seemed, at least in this episode, to whitewash the kidnapping. Sam hasn’t been dwelling on it that much either and Angie told Miguel Jr. that there were two possibilities. (I suppose the other is Darío) Since Bernie actually confessed, I don’t think there is any need for further investigation or doubts.
.
Estela’s delusions and strange logic confuse me. :) Although, I think I’m starting to understand that her truth is whatever she has decided to believe no matter what anyone else tells her or how much evidence to the contrary is provided.

Yup, Rodrigo was supposed to be in France some time ago. Whoever is in prison has been there for a while… probably someone not mentioned yet?? I’d also like to know who in the heck is running the company and why on earth Rodrigo hasn’t returned to claim his inheritance.

It would be fun to see Miguel’s three kids as a team. :) I’d like to see more of the female bodyguards as well. (Somebody must need one eventually… ;) )

RELACIONES PELIGROSAS

Yes, Hombre, things really are heating up in this novela. I did watch last night and particularly enjoyed Miranda's scene with Olivia.

Miranda has been such a wimp this whole novela that I loved her telling Olivia off in spades.

I also like that JP, whom I don't like one bit, is also planning Olivia's downfall. She deserves it.

missing my novela fix,
maybe we can dream,

la reina del sur, part 2,

http://www.juanofwords.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/06/kate-del-castillo.jpg

It's no surprise that Kate del Castillo will be returning to her throne at Telemundo in the near future…
The network has announced that producers are in the early stages of pre-production on a sequel to Telemundo's hit telenovela, La Reina del Sur.

Despite del Castillo's recent deal with rival Univision to produce and star in webnovelas for the network, Telemundo has confirmed that del Castillo will reprise her role.

http://www.hispanicallyyours.com/?p=4718

maybe...

RELACIONES PELIGROSAS:

Novelera, I agree that Olivia deserves some retribution, but she's a lot less evil than some. Here's my take on the evil scale of some of the characters:

Total monsters, deserve to die:
Andres, Victor, Julia
Partial monsters, life in prison:
JP, Walt
Prison Terms, not life:
Pedro, Gonzalo, Monica, Gilberto, Olivia, Augusto
Don't deserve prison, but really annoying:
Carmen, Hector
Guilty of some things, but I'll give them a pass:
Yesenia, Leo

On the other side of the coin, we have
Characters I'm in love with:
Ana and Pati
Even though Ana is a bit cold and aloof, I've always been attracted to the actress who plays her. And this is a totally different role from what she played in El Fantasma de Elena (lovestruck, misguided sister), and Perro Amor (giggly, nerdy rich daughter). She really is doing a very good acting job here with a limited role.

RELACIONES PELIGROSAS

Hombre, does your lack of a mention of Miranda indicate that you're underwhelmed, as I am?

I guess I just like my heroines spunky. I could watch Ximena Duque play Samantha for years!

RELACIONES PELIGROSAS:

Novelera, you're right about Miranda, she doesn't do too much for me. I'm also watching La Fuerza del Destino on Hulu Plus, and Sandra E was even blander on that one. As for Ximena Duque, I'm in awe of her, but she's a little too much for me. But she's just right for Willy!

CORAZON VALIENTE

I really liked it when Willy gave his own vows to Sam, that was really nice.

Angela never could sell it to me as a body guard. Not very bright either but as it has been mentioned, neither is JM so let em be happy :)

Those bug eyes of "jefe" really get to me. Not a bad actor though.

CORAZÓN VALIENTE – Miércoles – Part 1

Sam explains to Miguel that the DNA results “proved” that she and Ángela are not sisters. She goes on to tell him about the deep affection she felt for his father. They agree to work together to find the person responsible for his death. [At this point I’m confused. Despicable Dad outright confessed to Willy that he did it because Darío had an affair with his wife. Willy told Sam about it. Why are they vacillating between Darío and DD as the guilty party?]

Juan Marcos is NOT happy to find Paula ready to board the plane. There’s something unpleasant about her mouth that reminds me of a rabbit.

Vicente threatens to shoot the Rat, who shows some of those Rat cage fighting skills and gets the gun away from him. The Reptile orders him to leave. On his way out he looks right at Vicente and we see the true Rat nature for a minute when he tells him he doesn’t like to be threatened.

Vicente tells the Reptile he won’t put up with her being unfaithful. She rips right into him telling him she thought he’d be a macho in bed, but he turns out to be impotent and incapable of giving her pleasure. Now that’s really gonna fix things, NOT.

Evil/Estúpida Estela comes to tell Despicable Dad about how Miguel’s son came to her saying he wanted vengeance. She assures DD she’ll get him away from her family. She says that Ángela is going to be the only Valdez.

Miguel calls a contact about getting some information about the long-ago kidnapping in the Valle de Bravo, and he names his and Sam’s two suspects.

Willy has called Sam and told her about Lorena’s suicide attempt. Jefe makes a point of telling Sam that Lorena is very much in love with Willy.

Vicente gets a call from Gabriel wanting more money while the Reptile is in the room. He tells her about Gabriel overhearing him say she’d killed Josefina Uriarte.

How can Willy stand to even be in the same room with Lugubrious Lorena! She whines on in the hospital with the same refrain. She’s tan sola, tan angustiada. ¡Yo tengo tantas ganas de darle una buena patada en el trasero!

JM has apparently rented some apartment in London. The Rabbit says it’s big enough for the two of them. Just then Ángela calls to see if he arrived OK. He’s about to tell her about the Rabbit being there, when the Rabbit reaches out and shuts off his phone. She says she’s doing him a favor because Ángela is jealous. Her being there will be their little secret.

Evil/Estúpida comes to drip some poison in her daughter’s ear about Miguel Gutierrez. Jean, I believe you said it. She’s paid absolutely no attention to Ángela or Violeta for weeks. But she now has something to gain by convincing Ángela that MG is a resentful guy who shouldn’t be in their lives. The last thing she wants is for Angie to find out how EE kept MG away from his father his whole life.

Miguel falls asleep on Sam’s sofa when she goes to make him some coffee. Willy roars in there and starts throwing punches. [Is this a continuity error? I thought Willy already knew about MG.] Anyway, Miguel, one of the finest bodyguards in Mexico, quickly subdues Willy. Willy pouts a lot after Sam explains why Miguel is there. He’s very cute when he does that.

The Rabbit comes into JM’s room, says there’s no soap in her room and manages to drop her towel. Ye Gods, this episode is getting on my last nerve. He asks her to leave.

El Jefe comes to see Lugubrious Lorena and isn’t buying that it was a real suicide attempt. He says he knows she’s a doctor and could calculate the dosage very well.

CORAZÓN VALIENTE – Miércoles – Part 2

The mystery of the missing money in Emma and Peralta’s apartment is explained. He again leaves some spending money for Emma. His mother shows up immediately after he leaves to see how the housekeeping is going. She zeroes in on the cash but is caught by Emma. She confesses that she has a gambling problem. This is a ridiculous plot point. She doesn’t even look like the same rather dumpy matronly woman we saw when Emma first went to see his parents.

Vicente tells the Reptile that she needs to be very, very careful. He then shows her a gun.

Meanwhile, in London, JM is taking a nap. The Rabbit climbs into bed with him wearing some sexy lingerie. He moves away but doesn’t get out of the bed because we assume he’s nude. She tells him she doesn’t see the problem. She doesn’t want to marry him, she just wants to jump his bones.

Willy finally comes around and shakes Miguel’s hand. I’m enjoying the scene when Willy’s cell rings and Languishing Lorena calls. ¡Otra vez! Estoy sola. Venga, por favor. Willy, tell her to call a cab. Please.

JM has gotten dressed and is telling the Rabbit that he’s faithful to Ángela. She drops her robe to show him the goods. He glares at her.

Peralta comes to say a taxi driver (huh?) dropped off some of Paula’s cards that she’d left in the cab. He had taken her to the airport. Ángela immediately guesses she went to London with JM. Evil/Estúpida jumps right in and tells her JM lied to her, and she bets those two are having a bachelor party in London.

The Reptile gives Ofelia some letters to deliver and tries a snow job on her, saying she’s pleased JM and Ángela are getting married. OO isn’t buying it.

Ángela calls JM and asks him point blank if Paula is there. When he says she is, she tells him he’s deceived her and hangs up on him.

Miguel is onto El Jefe. He tells Sam that the guy is in love with her. Sam says he’s only her ex boss. El Jefe comes up to them and gives her some potential female bodyguards who have applied to his agency.

Ángela packs to leave Casa Arroyo. EE is SUCH a big help. She tells her daughter she told her so. Ángela says she should have known better. She’s a nobody without culture. JM was married to the sophisticated Isabel and it’s natural he’d fall at the feet of her sister. [This is just plain ridiculous. Nobody goes from trust to distrust that fast!]

The Rabbit tells JM she’s going to tell Ángela that he invited her to come along. Or … she could tell her that she came on her own, nothing happened, and he was completely faithful. The price: a roll in the hay right now. JM gets close to her and tells her he doesn’t make deals with unscrupulous people.

Vicente has asked Nelly to come back to work for him. He starts grabbing her. She protests that he’s married. He gets pretty rough. [I think he wants to see if Little Vinnie still works.] Peralta (what’s he doing there?) shows up and knocks him down.

Gabriel shows up at the Reptile’s request. He says he won’t say anything about what he heard; they’re family, after all. The Reptile starts to put the moves on him. She tells him his brother can’t give her pleasure. He responds right away.

JM calls Ángela’s voice mail to tell her it was all a misunderstanding and he’s on his way home. The Rabbit has apparently also called her voice mail to say what a great time they’ve been having.

Ángela shows up at Sam’s agency. She says she wants a job. She’s not moving to Europe and she’s not getting married.

Lugubrious Lorena tells Willy she can’t live without him. Then she begs him to kiss her. Gah!

CORAZÓN VALIENTE:

Thanks for the recap! I was quite frustrated as well with this episode… what with the two desperate women (especially Paula was hard to stomach) and the continuation of who’s behind the kidnapping, although it was supposed to be solved… (even Willy didn’t mention that at the apartment when Sam talked about revenge), but that was expected. *sighs*
And then of course Angie suddenly not letting JM explain why Paula is with him in London. (Could have been innocent as well) I know it’s Angie and she doesn’t use her brains much, but her decision to just call off everything based on… Paula’s presence in London seems a little drastic.
It’s ironic that Estela supports Angie’s delusion of not being "good enough" for JM, when the similar reasons should apply to her in a relationship with Bernie… except of course Bernie HAS actually told her he is not into her.

I wasn’t bothered that it was Pablo’s mother who stole the money. She has a problem that can hopefully be dealt with.

I like how Miguel Jr. immediately picked up on Esteban the obvious (Not that it’s hard. How Sam can’t see it is baffling.) and on Sam’s control freak nature. I also like his good-natured attitude and his interaction with Sam (he already seems brotherly ;) ) But we’ll see... it’s only been two eps.
Oh, and since he said he’ll remain single, I suppose that means that he’ll end up being paired with somebody. ;)

Last episode Sam told Willy that she needed to tell him something, but then Willy got a call from Lorena. I assume Sam wanted to tell him about Miguel Jr. and then didn’t have the chance. She hasn’t told him on-screen, so it’s not a continuity error in that aspect.

Come to think of it… nothing really happened in this episode. Just lots of attempts at seduction…

CORAZON VALIENTE:

Thanks so much Jean. I'm glad I wasn't the only one majorly annoyed by this episode.

kihaku- EE has been singing that "you're not good enough/high class enough" tune to Angela since the very beginning. What doesn't make sense is why she thinks SHE is good enough for Bernie, since it goes against her theory that men like Bernie and JM would only want women like her and Angela for their mistresses, not wives.

I can't believe they've made Peralta's nice mom into a gambling addict. Do we really need this storyline?

RELACIONES PELIGROSAS:

I actually like Olivia. She has a lot of spunk. :) I haven’t watched every episode, but other than her obsession with Mauricio, her unprofessional behaviour and obsessive hate towards Miranda, she hasn’t come off as truly horrible to me (I don't know if there's something atrocious that I've missed). I feel she is more of a "grey" character, which to me makes her interesting.
My favourite character is Sofía. She’s strong, smart, reasonable and sticks up for herself and her beliefs without being self-righteous or judgemental. (And has been shown to be forgiving as well.)
I think she is one of the smartest and well-adjusted individuals in the novela... and it’s a pity there hasn't been more of her and that her relationship with Cassius was dropped.

CORAZÓN VALIENTE:

Vivi: Heh, yes. Estela doesn’t make sense except to herself. It’s frustrating at times… but on the other hand, it can be sort of amusing.

CORAZÓN VALIENTE

Thanks a lot novelara
My favorite scene of this episode was when Willy had to go to Lorena but he didn't want to leave Sam & Miguel alone. their faces were priceless! haha
Though all the Sam-Miguel scenes are my favorites :)

This Paula thing is really ridiculous & boring. I hope it won't last too long.

RELACIONES PELIGROSAS, Part 1

Here we go again! Trembling with rage, Olivia points a gun at Mauricio's forehead, telling him she loves him and she hates him. He says you're obsessed, just kill me. She says, like you killed me, after loving me and dropping me? Wait a minute, he replies. We only had sex once, and you pretty much forced that. I've always told you I only loved Miranda. She points the gun at him, fingers the trigger.....and walks away in frustration.

Mauricio tells Miranda we'll leave tonight in the cargo plane, but we have to go to school today and act normal. At school, Carmen shows up, and she's changed. She approaches Miranda, tells her that realizing this was all about her nieto, now she supports Miranda, and is sorry for everything she did before. She puts her hand on Miranda's belly, saying this is the future. But JP has observed this!

Later, JP is talking to Miranda, who thanks him for everything, all his help, gives him a really big hug. He of course smells a rat. He tells Miranda to take the rest of the day off, he'll cover at the library. He then calls Walt in Mexico. "Miranda must be leaving really soon. Her mother touched her belly, and she basically said farewell to me. Kidnap Soledad, and force her to tell us where Miranda is going!"

Liz has finished telling Leo and Gonzalo they're BOTH out of her life. They leave. She had a knife wrapped out in case they had given her problems. Who should then knock on the door but Mister Gilberto, who immediately says just call me Gilberto. He's come to support her, as a friend, or a big brother. For a second, she's wary, but this being Liz, she has no sense at all, cries and gives him a big hug. He sniffs her hair a little, ready for his slimy conquest to begin.

Julia has yet ANOTHER plan. As we know, she lost the baby when she slipped down the steps in her own trap. Santiago comes to see her, very angry. How dare you hit Bea! I saw the mark, and she said you did it. I'm immediately filing charges against you, and I'll get custody! As soon as he leaves, Julia's gears start turning. She goes to the hospital, somehow gets a paper saying she lost the baby today (I thought it was a few days ago), and calls Santiago, putting on her best acting (as we know, she actually is an out of work actress). She cries, help me, Santiago, come now! He rushes to where she is, telling Ana not to worry. She continues, After you left, saying you'd take Bea, I was destroyed, frantic. I started feeling pains. You wouldn't help at all. Somehow I got to the hospital, but I had a miscarriage. Because of you, I lost the baby. You'll killed our baby. And you killed any chances for Bea. You killed them both! I hate you! Santiago is filled with guilt. I'm sorry, I didn't mean, I'd do anything....Julia pounces, would you make love to me now? Nah, Santiago's not going THAT far. But Julia is happy her plan has worked. Santiago will be consumed by guilt, and she'll get him back.

RELACIONES PELIGROSAS, Part 2

Santiago is stunned, goes back and tells Ana the shocking news. I caused Julia to have a miscarriage. How can I live with myself? Ana thinks back, wait a minute. Benita found Julia's necklace at the bottom of the steps, along with some blood. She remembers seeing an out of order sign at the elevator that shouldn't have been there, prompting her to almost take the stairs. And earlier in the day, Alejandro had come into the office and said, yes, Miss Julia did fall down the steps, but said she was fine. Hmmmmm. Ana quietly says to Santiago, "Maybe not everything is as it seems to be." Yes!!!

Pati visits Joaco in jail. You have to sign this confidentiality agreement. You agree not to reveal that Augusto Mitterand paid for your bail, and is paying for your lawyer. And I do have to marry him, but he's sick, he only has a few months to live. He's agreed it'll be a marriage in name only, no relations. Joaco is dubious. Men are men, no? Oh honey, you trust me, don't you? says Pati. You're the one who makes me laugh, you've got such a big heart. Don't worry. Oh, and by the way, the only condition Augusto made was that we can't see each other at all for the duration of the marriage. So don't worry, just sign the paper. Joaco does. Bad move.

Mauricio and Miranda are in the cargo plane hangar, just about ready to board. An official wants to see their passports. They nervously hand them over. What if there's a problem? But we can legally leave the country, can't we? Turns out it was just routine, they're good to go. But then Miranda's phone rings. It's her Mom in Mexico. Darling, could you tell me exactly where you're going, and when you're leaving, and from where? But Mom, I thought we agreed, it's better not to tell you. Mau says "don't tell her anything." We see on the other end of the line, Walt is holding a GUN to Soledad's head! Sole continues in a shaky voice. Well, honey, I changed my mind, I'd feel better if I knew where you were. Is there anything wrong, Mom? You sound strange. No, of course not honey. Okay, Mama, says our too-trusting heroine. We're leaving tonight at 8 o'clock, from the cargo field at (she names it), now don't you worry. Walt clicks off the phone. Miranda just thinks they lost the connection.

Walt calls JP, gives him all the data. We've got her! JP calls Olivia, here's exactly where and when Miranda's leaving from. Stop her!

Miranda and Mauricio stare lovingly into each other's arms, start talking about being together even in the hereafter, and innocently walk up the stairs to enter the plane.

But will they make it?!!!!!!!

CORAZON VALIENTE:

Thanks, Novelera, great recap of a frustrating episode. It's just back and forth with the jealousy. We've got Jefe working to get Sam, Lorena to get Willy, Paula to get JM. The only one left out is Angela. Maybe ANOTHER guy will appear for her.

Maybe JM did eventually turn down Paula, but he was WAY too wimpy about it. First of all, he shouldn't have agreed to go to London on the same plane. If he did, he should have told Angela right away. Then he shouldn't have agreed to share the apartment in London with Paula. Plus, every time she appears naked or half naked, he stares WAY too long, before FINALLY coming to his senses. This is ridiculous. He's had several women throwing themselves at him already in this show. You'd think he'd be a little immune by now. At this point I almost want Angela not to forgive him, even if he never has really strayed (the thing with Gloria was equally ridiculous).

Willy seems to have a LITTLE more control, although he actually DID sleep with the secretary. His being so good and kind with Lorena is stupid. So many times, these desperate women say they'll kill themselves if the galan doesn't love them. Is this really supposed to work?

CORAZON VALIENTE

Thank you for recap Novelera.

Greatly agree with comments from Vivi and kihaku. I don't want to remember the sis-in-laws name in the hopes that she is done with.

What is the count on the women who have been in love with JM?

Wow, Hombre, I appreciate your straightforward comments about men specifically JM in this case. I too thought he was a wimp yet again.

Sometimes I think Telemundo reaches back to the ole movies, I think the relationship between Reptile and Vicente is straight out of Barbara Stanwyck/Kirk Douglas/Van Heflin "The Strange Love of Martha Ivers". In this picture Barbara was loony, she loved Van Heflin (whom she grew up with), she married Kirk Douglas and he put up with her bad nature, yes including a murder. I wonder if this storyline will end the same way. I would be most happy if it did.

RELACIONES PELIGROSAS

Thank you Hombre for your recap.

A rare thing for me to be able to watch the entire episode. All I have to stay, Mau and Miranda are fleeing, they finally get on the plane and then stand in the open doorway of the plane? Huh? I would think they would scramble to the back away from any kind of eyes.

I can't wait for Julia to get hers.

Sandra E to me has always been a bland actress, but I think she's given a bit more in this part. While Maite Peronni loves to twist her head, Sandra likes to stare at the camera for some kind of drama, never quite understood it.

CORAZON VALIENTE

as for JM being "WAY too wimpy about Paula", it would be very interesting if they criticize his weak personality, but unfortunately we can be sure that it's only a cheap trick to make the viewers worry and fill the time. I mean we the viewers are supposed to admire his attitude! :/

CORAZÓN VALIENTE

Hombre, you put your finger on what I was thinking. I know it's to supposedly cause suspense that maybe he really will fall for rabbit-mouth's attempted seduction, but JM just let each of the dopey scenes where she's all over him go on too long. In the one where she bunny-hopped into his bed I tried to give him the benefit of the doubt that he didn't jump out right away because he was nude.

And, of course, Willy is being too understanding about Lorena's pursuit of him. He's supposedly being kind with her because she saved his life, but he's actually keeping her hopes alive by not shutting her down completely and firmly.

Kihaku, you are SO right about Estela failing to see class differences regarding her glomming onto Bernie, but always reminding her daughter of them. She WAS like this all along, way before she started up with DD. I think the witch was jealous of her daughter having landed such a prize! And thanks for picking up on Willy not knowing about Miguel Gutierrez before he saw him in the flesh. I thought he knew.

Corazon Valiente
Thanks Novelera, and also all you great commenters. Why is EE so adamant about denying the existance of her husband Miguel's other children? Is it just about saving face? Also, didn't she outright deny that DD could have been behind Sam's kidnapping? I hope the DD actor makes a recovery so he can come back and speak his lines instead of writing on the bedsheets.
J in Oregon

CORAZON VALIENTE-
Thanks for the great recap, Novelera. I agree with the comments that it was a weird episode.

I also didn't understand why there was any mystery about who was responsible for Sam's kidnapping and Miguel's death. I expected Sam to say, "You're looking for the person responsible for your father's death? That's easy - Bernardo de Castillo has admitted that he was responsible." But no. If the writers knew that Miguel Jr was going to show up, why did they have Bernie admit to the kidnapping beforehand? Of course, it could have been to give Willy a reason for suspecting his father of sabotaging his plane. I'm guessing this part of the plot got messed up because of Manuel Landeta's having to leave the cast.

I agree that the Paula/JM scenes were just teasers to make us wonder if he would succumb.

CORAZÓN VALIENTE:

Paula was annoying and insistent and JM was being pretty clear that he was not into her. (I don’t fault him for staring. He’s a guy, after all.) However, I do agree that he shouldn’t have let things get that far in the first place. In the end, if she continues to be such a menace, he should just tell her to get lost. (I actually thought the issue with Gloria was even more ridiculous and that’s why it’s weird that Angie would understand that… and not this.)

I think with Willy there are two major factors: that Lorena saved his life and that he feels guilty for her attempted suicide. (Gratitude + Guilt) It’s natural to be kind, concerned and caring. He actually HAS to be kind and understanding, otherwise he’d come off (to the viewers) as a jerk.
(It's a lose-lose situation.)
I’m actually surprised that Sam is being so understanding given her jealousy in the past (for much less). But kudos to her.

In the end it doesn’t matter what you say to these women. They won’t get it into their heads that there is no chance. (Being firm didn’t drive Estela away. It doesn’t even look like Fernanda has given up either.)

(Then of course there are the obsessed/crazy/delusional/sick/pathetic men as well, who just won’t give up. Vicente looked like he found his spine at one point… only to lose it again.)

And yeah, there is the suspense, but I personally found the scenes especially with Paula annoying and frustrating. (Not suspenseful at all. I didn’t think JM was actually going to do anything.)

Women after JM… Fernanda, Isabel, Angie… now Paula. Also, Sol was into him for a while before moving on to Bernie.(Not sure what counts as "in love". I wouldn't count Fernanda's obsession for example.)

Novelera: I also got the impression that Estela at least subconsciously is jealous of her daughter. Well, it’s not like she would admit it anyway. (And I’ve been wondering what Miguel saw in her. Maybe she used to be different. I don’t know.)

J: I’ve been wondering the same thing. I think in Estela’s mind she wants HER daughter to be Miguel’s only child. She’s thus more special than the other women Miguel had a relationship with.
(That DD doesn’t want Sam to know who her real father is makes less sense to me.)
Yeah, EE is telling herself and everyone else that DD had nothing to do with the kidnapping. Her mind is a little strange.

Jean: Yeah, I think maybe the actor’s departure might have had something to do with the kidnapping plot being so messed up. Bernie can’t talk or do much anything… so there is not enough room for conflict. I suppose the characters need something to do for the time being. Besides, maybe they can gather some proof, so the culprit can definitely be put behind bars. (Bernie could deny everything later on in court and Estela would back him up.)

CORAZÓN VALIENTE - jueves Part 1

Willy refuses to kiss Lorena, stating his love for Sam. Lorena replies that Willy isn't a one -woman man. Will he swear to her that he will only be with Sam for the rest of his life?

The Reptile and Gabriel are getting dressed after sex. In comes Vincente with a gun. He shoots Gabriel in the back. The Reptile scolds him for showing up early, "Estaba ocupada," she says, "Es tu hermano." "I was busy. That's your brother." Oops. Bye, bye Gabriel. No big loss and Vincente doesn’t have to pay blackmail. But Vincente is devastated that he killed his only relation - the Reptile  - not so much. Irresistible as she is, she can always find another lover.

A frustrated Paula asks JM what Ángela's got that has bewitched JM. JM replies that Ángela is everything to him.

We learn a little more about El Jefe’s son. He is having problems at school. His name is Nicolas. Sam says that he is about the same age as her lost child. Hmm, what a coincidence.

Ángela tells Sam that JM is in London with Paula and she is leaving him. Sam basically tells her not to be an idiot. Not clear if that gets through.

Peralta brings Nelly to the apartment and explains that Vincente tried to assault Nelly and he rescued her. Somehow this incident has left Nelly without anywhere to live so she wants to stay in the apartment with Emma and Peralta overnight. Emma is decidedly down on that idea and is pretty sceptical of the whole story.

Miguel and Sam get takeout to eat at her place. Miguel suggests inviting Willy since he is so jealous but Sam replies that Willy is with Lorena. She admits that she is a little jealous. “Poor Willy,” says Miguel, “jealous of me and of El Jefe.” Sam doesn’t appear to believe that someone could be jealous even if there wasn’t any reason to be. She tells Miguel that he is wrong: she considers him to be like he brother and as for El Jefe, she just has respect and admiration for him.” Once again, Miguel warns Sam that Jefe is in love with her. Watching all this in his lair, Jefe tells Nuñez that they will have to get rid of Miguel.

CORAZÓN VALIENTE - jueves Part 2

The Reptile, Lucy the Cat and Vincente drive somewhere to get rid of Gabriel’s corpse. The Reptile says that they will tell everyone that Gabriel went on a trip.

Languishing/Lugubrious Lorena apologizes to Willy for wanting to kiss him. She pitches the sad story of her lonliness and pain but says that it’s not Willy’s fault. He should go to Sam yadda, yadda, yadda.

Miguel tells Sam that Estúpida/Evil Estéla knew about his existence tried to keep his mother from telling him the truth about his father. Fortunately, unlike both of Sam’s parents, she manages to make a deathbed confession.

Willy calls Sam to say that he won’t be coming back to the apartment but when she tells him that she is with Miguel, he is immediately jealous.

JM returns from London and tells Ángela that there was nothing between him and Paula.

Willy returns to Sam’s apartment. In a very cute scene, Miguel tries to reassure him that he doesn’t have any romantic interest in Sam. Willy finally says that he considers Miguel to be a “caballero,” a gentleman. A caballero doesn’t put the moves on another guy’s woman. Miguel replies that he knows that Sam is Willy’s “novia.” “She’s not my novia,” says Willy, “she’s my woman (mujer). She’s my wife (esposa).” They tell him about the secret wedding and ask him not to tell anyone else. [El Jefe is watching this but he doesn’t seem to react to this information.]

Nuñez tells El Jefe that he has solved the Miguel problem.

Odd Ofélia is with Despicable Dad. He writes Samantha’s name on his writing pad and OO is annoyed. In comes Cecilia.

Apparently, this is still the same day that Sam and Willy got married. After Miguel leaves, Willy tells Sam this is their “noche de boda.” He produces rose petals, candles and champagne.

Vincente continues to be destrozado that he killed his brother. He tells the Reptile that he should have killed her and still might do so. The Reptile doesn’t believe it.

Nelly is working at JM’s house as a maid again. JM finds a note Ángela left for him saying that she is leaving him. Fortunately, she is still right outside. JM makes his pitch then Paula shows up and apologizes. She tells Ángela that even though she took off all her clothes and got into JM’s bed, nothing happened.

CORAZÓN VALIENTE - jueves Part 3

El Jefe offers Miguel a great bodyguarding job but it’s in Miami. Miguel declines. He says that he understands that Jefe is trying to get rid of him but he isn’t leaving LA and he’s not romantically interested in Sam, unlike Jefe.

LL Lorena tells Sam and Willy that she’s going to leave LA. We wish.

Ángela and Miguel get the results of the DNA test and are confirmed to be half brother and and sister. They are ecstatic.

Qué the hell? DD calls Cecilia on the phone? I thought he couldn’t talk. Either the writers have gotten totally messed up on the DD story or the guy in the hospital isn’t DD. Very weird.

JM tells Ángela that he will be waiting at the altar the next day to marry her and if she doesn’t show up it is all over between them forever. [At this point you think that something is going to prevent Ángela from going to the wedding, leading to months of misunderstandings between her and JM but one of the things that I like about this novela is that they usually don’t go for the obvious.]

The Rat tells Vikingo that he doesn’t want Ángela to marry JM. She should be his.

Ángela tells Miguel that he should change his name to Valdez. Miguel tells Ángela that she should wise up and get rational. She loves JM and she should marry him.

A guy in a hood breaks into wherever Ángela is staying, overpowers her and chloroforms her. It’s the Rat and he seems to have rape in mind. He starts to take off Ángela’s clothes. Miguel comes in, he and the Rat fight but the Rat escapes.

Just like with Sam and Willy’s wedding, the groom is anxiously waiting at the altar, then Ángela arrives and is given away by Miguel.

CORAZON VALIENTE

Thank you Jean for your recap. I missed most of this, but saw preview of tonight's show. Is there any mention why the cops/swat team is there?

The Miguel character anyone have a clue if he is a good character or a bad character, he seems to be a regular person.

CORAZON VALIENTE-

Nellie: The policy on the Caray blog is not to mention the previews for the next night's show.

Since he is Miguel's son and so far has been very good, I think Miguel jr. is a good guy but you never know.

CORAZON VALIENTE:

Great recap, Jean! You're right, there were lots of weird things happening:
-Why would Nellie not have a place to stay, just because Vicente attacked her (unless she was living at his house)? Then, she's all of a sudden the maid for JM again?
-Why would Paula come back to the US, is she just following JM everywhere?
-All of a sudden, it's the wedding?
-Bernardo talking? Yes, the guy in the cast could be someone else, but why would he write Samantha? So, maybe he can remove his cast. Maybe he bribed another doctor, and he's fine. Or maybe we'll never know.

BTW, I think (not sure, though) that El Jefe just happened to be talking to Nuñez at the precise moment when Willy said he was married, and neither of the two heard it, they were looking away.

Emma also "prepared" a wonderful candlelit dinner for Peralta, but actually ordered it from a chef, and he could get mad about that. He also said his Mom was a saint, really good with money, but we know she has a gambling problem.

RELACIONES PELIGROSAS, Part 1

The night when everything went wrong!

Miranda and Mauricio get on the plane, and the pilot tells them it'll leave in a half hour. They're soooo happy, strapping themselves into the seatbeats, playing with the pillow, thinking of the future. Finally, they'll be free.

Joaco actually IS free, but he's not too happy. He isn't allowed to even hug Pati goodbye. He wants to get a look at Augusto to see if he's really sick. Earlier, Ivana had criticized the make-up girl for not making him look sick enough, she herself draws some circles under his eyes. Yesenia runs up, hugs Joaco, you're free! He feels less than a man for allowing his girlfriend to marry just for money for his legal defense, but Yesi says it's a tough world out there.

Yes, it is. Apparently Ana never got around to telling Santi that Julia may have faked things. Santi comes home, and Julia has disappeared, cleaned out the apartment, and taken Bea!

Hector summons Lupe, Nora's Mom. You're illegal, aren't you? She starts to cry, please don't turn me in! He goes, well, you guys are good folks, how 'bout if Nora marries Diego. Now. Lupe agrees. Hector calls Diego, ORDERS him to buy a ring. Diego had just told Alejo he loves BOTH Nora and Alejo! The two of them go off to the jewelry store. Nora thinks something funny's going on, and secretly follows.

Nena and Benita have decided to give Leo a surprise 18th birthday party, and are doing the decorations. Benita's going to cook up some chilaquiles. Nena climbs the ladder to hang the banner, and falls on her back! The doctor comes and says she needs and operation. But they have no money, and no insurance.

Leo shows up, hears about this, and wants to help with the money. Earlier, he did a modeling shoot, but they won't pay him for a month. However, Monica (whom he has apparently never met, though Gonzalo, Yesi and Nena sure know who she is), approaches him and says he should be an "escort." He'd earn LOTS of money that way. he declines. He can't give up his dignity, that's all he has left. Monica tells her friend the male model agent, I'm going to make him my little lap dog. He'll fall in love with me. And I'll wipe it in Clementina's face! First I took her husband, then her son!!!!

RELACIONES PELIGROSAS, Part 2

Carmen tells Sofia not to worry, Mau will be fine, and soon, Sofi will have a little nephew or niece. After they establish their new life, they're sure to get back in touch. Carmen realizes that for the child, she'll do anything.

Soledad weeps that she should have been braver, should not have gotten Miranda to tell her the info of when the flight left, should have let Walt kill her. Well, says Walt, it was between death and jail, you just put your daughter in jail. But I betrayed her! Yes, just like you betrayed my mother and her husband! But let the past be gone. And what about Miranda's baby, don't you have any feelings? she pleads. Oh we have special plans for the baby, sneers Walt. JP had told him not to kill Soledad for now, but keep close watch on her.

Liz apparently can't live in the trailer, since Joaco is free, and Yesi and Joaco live there. She grudgingly goes to live with Teresa. Teresa tells her, I have some news you may not like. Gilberto was really hurt, so he's going to continue to live here. Liz thinks back to how Gil said he'd support her like a big brother. Oh, I have NO PROBLEM with that, she tells her baffled step mother.

Turns out JP did NOT tell Olivia the data for when the flight was leaving, but wanted to tell her in person. He shows up at the police station, says I'll give you this, but you must take FULL responsibility, and not say the I was the one who got the info. Deal, she says. She gets the cops, let's move! They rush out, past Joaco, Yesi and Pati. Pati senses something's wrong. She calls Miranda, Olivia just rushed out, loaded for bear! Have you left yet? Miranda reassures her, the plane's already moving, they'll be too late.

But after she hangs up, she gets in the car, and starts crying to Augusto. He asks if there's anything wrong with the passengers on his cargo flight. He then gets a call, the authorities are questioning the flight. Pati says stop them, it's Mau and Miranda, they have a beautiful love. They have to get away. Augusto is a little miffed that she'd involve him in something illegal, and anyway his hands are tied. He can't interfere.

Mau and Miranda are so happy, the plane is taxiing along, but why is it going so slowly? Uh oh, it stopped. Oh no, police cars are all over the place. Mau starts begging with the plane's officer, you've got to leave, we have to leave! Sit down, young man, we have to respect the authorities. Miranda is stunned. It's all over. She sinks down in despair.

Mau says he'll fight it, to the end. The cops come onto the plane, handcuff them both, and lead them down the gangplank. As they're whisked off to jail, and the possible loss of their hijo, Olivia stands at the top of the gangplank, framed by the cabin door, looking a bit like a miniature John Wayne, legs slightly spread, hands on hips, boots, jeans, holstered gun around her waist, and glares out at the pair. Don't you mess with the LAW!!!!

RELACIONES PELIGROSAS

Thanks, Hombre. I've been watching lately. Still like Olivia? I've always disliked her intensely. There's something about obsessive, unrequited love that drives me nuts. [I know, I know. Why watch telenovelas since this kind of "love" is a regular staple?]

I thought the scenes inside the plane went on too long. It got boring waiting for the Valkyrie Olivia to fly in on her broomstick.

Of course the rather silly kicker is the fact that Miranda got pregnant in Georgia, where their lovemaking is legal. I wonder if the crooked doctor will be the one to ruin JP's plans?

CORAZÓN VALIENTE

First-rate recap, Jean!!!

It seems like they're setting things up for the obvious - Nicolás being Willy and Sam's son. Maybe it's a red herring. However, El Jefe may end up either in jail for his schemes or dead and Guadalupe is kind of a b*tch. So maybe Sam and Willy will end up with the kid.

I agree. The phone call from DD was a big surprise. I lean toward that not being him in all the bandages. But...since the reason he took off was grief over Willy, he must have heard that Willy is alive. So why not come back? I suppose he could have coached the guy in the bandages to write Samantha every time someone asks him for a word or two. It's all about Manuel Landeta's health problems, but still very clumsy writing.

Hombre, I think you're right that El Jefe didn't hear that Sam and Willy are married. It makes no sense that he wouldn't erupt with rage otherwise.

Of course, they're probably not going to catch the Rat until the last episode, but I loved it that he messed with the wrong guy. He may be a part-time cage fighter, but Miguel Valdez is a top-notch bodyguard.

Sorry to be so shallow, but I was shocked that Miguel's first novia was not very attractive. I just couldn't imagine Jorge Luis Pila bedding down with Miguel Jr's mother.

I am really liking Gabriel Porras in this novela. It's a nice change from the tortured guy he played in La Casa de al Lado. He smiles a lot. I thought the scene where he reacts to finding out Angie is his sister was delightful. And it was sweet to see him giving away the bride at the end.

RELACIONES PELIGROSAS:

Novelera, maybe the law ITSELF will save the day. If Miranda is forced to have a pregnancy test in jail, maybe that test will show not only that she has Mau's baby, but when she conceived!

CORAZÓN VALIENTE -

thanks Jean !!!

it kind of throws me that Samantha was so obsessed with finding her son,
and then it's like they just dropped that whole thing.

novelera, I too am enjoying Gabriel Porras in this role,
so nice to see act normal,
and smile.

I was half expecting the bride to be veiled,
and when it was lifted, to be Paula,
especially after Angela's attempted rape,
whew,
(btw Jean, I think where Angela was attacked was their new bodyguard office)

that must be a pretty big house the del Castillo's have,
with all that happens there,
sex, murders, suicides, etc.,
with Ofelia running from room to room,
and no one else noticing these other things.

RELACIONES PELIGROSAS -

thanks so much Hombre !!!

loved your description of Olivia standing in the cargo door,
giving Mau and Miranda their send off,
maybe we'll see her with a cigar, beard, and a big hat soon.

btw the promo for "Escobar, el patrón del mal" is saying that will start in July,
(it sounds like this already has been showing in Colombia, since 28 May, so...)
I'm thinking telemundo might be stretched filming all three current stories in Miami,
so these next two are being made elsewhere till they can make some room.

CORAZON VALIENTE- Thanks all. I had extra time this morning since I didn't go into work.

Yes, Hombre, I omitted Emma's little culinary deceit. This is sure to backfire since Peralta will expect her to cook something when he is there and can't fake it. She should have spent money on going to cooking school or getting lessons from a cook.

Deb, I was going to mention someothing about how easy it seems to be to get dead bodies out of the Castillo house.

I'm sure you are right, Hombre, that Jefe missed hearing Willy tell Miguel that he and Sam are married.

I am liking Gabriel Porras a lot as Miguel, too.

CORAZÓN VALIENTE

Thanks a lot Jean

novelara, I too was disappointed with Miguel's first novia. No matter that it was a short scene, they should have found a proper actress to portray Miguel's novia and Miguel Jr's mother. Actually it would have been better not to shoot that clumsy flashback at all.
Again de acuerdo; Gabriel Porras greatly enhances the novela, turning otherwise flat scenes into lively ones.

As for Sam & Willy's marriage secret I guess the writers have forgotten that Jefe is overhearing them! haha

Willy's jealousy toward Miguel is cute ^^

CORAZÓN VALIENTE:
Thanks for the recap. :)

Miguel is awesome! I liked how he tried to talk sense to Angie and Willy and how he straight up called the creepy boss out on his behaviour. (Not sure if it’s smart talking like that to your new boss, though. Or if it’s okay to refuse a job.) At least for the time being he has been sensible and levelheaded.

Thank goodness it looks like the Paula fiasco has been solved. Even one episode was too much.

Eeeh… how could Esteban and Nuñez miss the vital bit of info? After all, the sounds were still on and I think it would be something they’d pick up on. (Or they weren’t in the room/lair? At one point they did go out and missed Sam telling Miguel Jr. to keep the marriage a secret.) But hopefully they did miss it, because I was disappointed not to see Estaban’s reaction to the news.

Not sure why Sam and Willy waited so long for their wedding night. (A lot did happen in between, but still…)

Nicolas, his age and issues have been mentioned before… So there wasn’t much new there. I’d like more info on his difficulties though; why he’s acting the way he is (Perhaps his parents’ divorce) and what kind of relationship he has with his parents… Actually, I want this kid to show up already.
Yeah, Guadalupe will probably end up dead (as most minor characters) and El Jefe either dead or in prison paving the way for Sam and Willy to get their kid.

Yeah, I don’t get Nelly and Bernie, either.
Where was Nelly living before? And the call from Bernie was weird… either he actually can speak and is just pretending not to, or he never had the accident in the first place.
Letting people think that he had an accident and worry is something DD would do. But who the heck is the other guy, then?? Bernie could of course be bribing the whole hospital to keep him in bandages. Pretending to be a lot weaker while hatching plans is also something he would do.
I don’t get why Cecilia is helping him anyway.

Novelera: Well, Miguel Jr.’s mother was sick and dying, so she probably didn’t look good because of that? Besides it has been a while since she and Miguel were together. (I don’t know how old Miguel Jr. is supposed to be.)

I also liked the scene with the newfound siblings and how excited and nervous Miguel Jr. was.
I wish Sam would find out the truth soon as well…
(And it was convenient for MJ to show up before the wedding. :) )

Deb: I guess the investigator and El Jefe’s contacts are taking their sweet time finding the child. In the meantime Sam focuses on other things. (Or rather, the plot does.)
One would think that someone else as well as Ofelia would notice what’s going on in the del Castillo house. Soundproof walls? (Willy and Lorena should have been around when Gabriel was shot…)

RELACIONES PELIGROSAS:

Thanks for the recap. :) I managed to watch bits and pieces of this.
I don’t think Olivia really looked that triumphant at the end… Just… thoughtful.

I don’t in general mind obsessive, unrequited love. It depends on how it’s portrayed though. It can provide some interesting drama. ;) (At this point, I think Olivia just wants "justice".)

Why on earth would Diego take Ale to help pick an engagement ring for Nora? Makes no sense… What does, really?? It looks unlikely, but I’m hoping that in the end he’ll manage to stand up to his ridiculously controlling father.

CORAZÓN VALIENTE

kihaku, it is not the matter of beauty, Miguel Jr's mother should have been a more special woman. Not because of reality, but the drama.
If it is not going to create a dramatic effect, then better not to show a character and let the viewers use their imagination.

RELACIONES PELIGROSAS:

While I don't like many of the actions Olivia has taken, I still find her character fascinating, because unlike the real baddies, like Andres, Victor, Walt, Oliver, etc., she has conflicting emotions. The others don't care whom they hurt, they just do what's necessary. But Olivia is more human, and struggles with her choices. That's why I also hope that in the end, she'll decide to help Mau and Miranda, and bring down JP. But who knows?
