Amor Bravio cast of characters

Silvia Navarro is Camila Monterde: a beautiful woman without prejudice who always says what she feels and thinks - brave, passionate, a free spirit, modern, romantic. She doubts she will encounter love after losing her first love. She's a veterinarian, independent and intelligent. She comes to live at La Malquerida (Bad Love Ranch?) after suffering a traumatic accident in which her bridegroom died. She falls into a two-year depression but Alonso draws her out and conquers her with compliments and attention.

Olivia Bucio is Agustina Santos: widow of Humberto Monterde and ex-wife of José Julián Díaz. Camila was the child of her first marriage, and Ximena is of the second. She is old-fashioned; what people say matters to her. She always wanted a comfortable life for her children. She is easy to manipulate and weak of character. Don Daniel gives his unconditional support, she is in love with him despite his being the husband of her cousin Ampara. When he is widowed she thinks she has a chance with him, but he can't forget Ágatha. When Dionisio Ferrer declares his love for her, she believes he is sincere and accepts, though it's only a strategy to control her and get at Camila.

Flavio Medina is Alonso Lazcano: an attractive [??] young [??] man of strong character, bossy and arrogant, ambitious and obsessive. He acts for his mother Isadora and Dionisio Ferrer. He is an astute hypocrite and gains the affections and confidence of don Daniel Monterde, becoming his manager.

Cristian de la Fuente is Daniel Díaz Acosta: son of Ágatha Acosta and José Julián Díaz, though everyone (even he) thinks he's the illegitimate son of Daniel Monterde. He's a systems engineer in Chile until he loses his job due to bad economic times. He's intelligent, honest, and a fighter. He's married to Miriam, a rich woman of Jewish heritage. When he is named heir of Daniel Monterde, he's slandered and goes to jail accused of killing his wife. He manages to flee and heads for Mexico. He meets Camila and falls in love with her.

Rogelio Guerra is Daniel Monterde: A decisive man, honest, direct, responsible, a hard worker; owns the Malquerida ranch, where bulls are raised. He was married to Amparo, a good woman who was never able to provide him an heir, but he fell in love with Ágatha Acosta, a Chilean, the love of his life. Being depressed and having a heart condition, he leaves all the running of the ranch to Alonso Lazcano, who becomes the cause of all his misfortunes.

César Évora is Dionisio Ferrer: an ambitious and unscrupulous man who cares about nothing but himself. He is sinister and vengeful, with a seductive personality, he knows woman, and he uses Isadora and Agustina.

Leticia Calderón is Isadora: A distinguished, high-class, beautiful woman, Alonso's mother. She is an ambitious, unscrupulous hypocrite. She works with Dionisio, they are doing tourist development in the lands of La Malquerida; that's why she urges her son to conquer and marry Camila and then grab the property.

I love your question marks on young and attractive. Haha! The actor was in PVAA, and his hair was in free curly form, instead of slicked back like in this pic. It definitely made him look younger/young, but he's not what you would call handsome, and for sure not with that slicked back hair. :)

I like the plot. Both Leticia C. and Cesar E. are great when they play villains. What a treat seeing them together.

Silvia N. is a fave, and I have always thought that CdlF was hot.

Thank you for the info on the characters!

Gracias for this; it will be a great story. I'm signing on for Mondays again.

Thanks, Urban. I look forward to a "yes" or "no" from all of your team...

I loved Sylvia two novelas ago...

Malquerido = disliked, unpopular. So maybe it's Unloved Ranch, LOL!

Thanks for the list. I love Silvia in anything, so I'm giving this one go even though I hate the time slot. (Then there's always Hulu +). Be fun to see the Purple Queen (Letitia) and Cesar do their expert evilness.

Thank you for the synopsis of sorts. Is this replacing La Que No Podia Amar at 10:00?

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ok, I scrolled down the front page after reading here and I saw the synopsis and time, so never mind my questions.

I'd go for Flavio Medina over Cristian de la Fuenta, only because he is a much better actor and I find talent attractive. However, Flavio's character is an evil weasel here.

Jarocha

Hey there, Jarocha! I hope you will grace our blog again for this novela. You're insights always add a great deal to our viewing enjoyment, amiga!
======================
As for Cesar Evora, who could turn this one down? He's playing a villain and he's joined by Leticia Calderon of all people! Natasha and Boris couldn't have asked for a better choice to emulate themselves.
We have CdlF and Silvia as protagonistas as well. I am 110% in for this one!!

I can't wait to see it on a TV screen! I have been watching it on my computer or phone (bad links permitting) since it began in March in Mexico. I am a Cristian de la Fuente fan since way back, and it is the best role he has ever had. And he is amazing!!! His "Daniel Diaz Acosta" is sexy, sweet, funny, heartbreaking and everything inbetween. Ole!!!

I saw a couple of epi's in Puerto Vallarata earlier this year. The combo of Evora/Calderon and Navarro with anyone is great. Calderon is so good at being manipulative....ditto Evora. The locations are good for this one as well. Looking forward to this one...SFchicabonita

"La Malquerida" is the name of a very famous play by Jacinto Benavente. I haven't read it, but there is a synopsis here:

http://www.outofthewings.org/db/play/la-malquerida/

Looks like a potboiler! If they haven't made a TN out of it yet, they probably should.

This sounds like an excellent start of a novela. I can definitely see Cesar Evora as Esteban.

Blue Lass: Thanks for that link! It may be a bit of a spoiler, so anybody be ware, unless you can compartmentalize and forget what you've read immediately after. LOL!

This telenovela, I read, is supposedly taken from an "original story" (whatever that means these days) written by Maria Zarattini--another great reason to watch this telenovela if you take a look at her list of tn's she's written for-- tho' I can see how some would agree it might follow the outline of that play. Jaded as I am, I don't see how anything in this day and age can be considered brand spanking new, really, especially in TNLand--JMNSHO.

I have read that it's so popular in Mexico that they're adding episodios. They still haven't finished filming and it's supposed to end in October there.

Uh-oh. That's three strikes against it: the 10 p.m. time slot, the added filler, and Silvia N. in an ugly plaid shirt. Nevertheless I'll probably come in halfway through, when Amorcito wraps up.

LQNPA TEAM AND THOSE INTERESTED IN RECAPPING OR SUBBING for AB: Those who want to continue on or those who want to sub MUST send Melinama a formal Email to jane at mappamundi or at gmail or at the caray at mappamundi address ASAP!

Thanks!

I've signed up as a sub/backup/whatever. I am a bit burned out after LQNPA so I don't want to do a regular recapping gig for awhile. But this one sounds very good (and with Cesar Evora! yay!) so I will probably be following it.
