Refugio Para el Amor #80 Fri 7/27/12 FINALLY!!!, THE TRUTH HAS COME BACK... to SAN FRANCISCO EL AAAAAALLLLLLLTTTOOOOO ...
Mati takes on her frequent role of punch bag of the 'witches'...
At dinner table, Jana talks to Melissa and Aldo about it being so strange Boris just left like that. At other end of table Rod looking at his glass as if he wanted to shoot a laser beam to it from his eyes and melt it down.

Poor Boris gets reamed out by Madre Loca and banished. It will probably keep him from ending up with an ulcer but now unbeknownst to her Rosa is going to have to watch out for Lorenzo. Poor Rosa she's like the boy trying to plug holes in the dike and running out of hands. She has meddled, tossed in a bucket load of lies, been the queen of snotty behavior and the anvils are about to come crashing down on her - not that anyone cares including her whole family. Max keeps warning her but she just won't listen.
Looks like the world class dumbass has predictably leapt to a gigantic wrong conclusion. Who didn't see that one coming. Gagme thinks she has him back in her clutches but I wouldn't be so sure if I was her. Luci's got the Virgin on the case and soon her Daddy is going to swing into action.
Conny certainly manages to control herself when under attack by the itch brigade around her. Julie trying to insinuate that there was something between her and Oscar and Conny ignores it. The blonde bimbos have an awfully high opinion of themselves.
My jaw is still on the floor about Rosaelena's denial of how declasse she looked at how she tossed Boris out during a dinner party with all those other guests. Nobody in their right mind should buy her story that Boris suddenly didn't feel well.
As for the nonsense about Jana's room, she is really showing how ridiculous she is.
Rod fell right into the trap, but the caveman routine is a huge turnoff. Gala is stupid enough not to care.
Julie is something else again. If there was anyone ripe for acid...
Finally, I was also worried at how long Paz was taking about the revelation. At least the horse is out of the barn.
I was so along with you in the pauses and delays. I was so sure that at most Paz would only tell him part of the story, that this woild be dragged out somehow. So I was cheering YAAAAAAAY!!!!! when she told him everything that was great! Yay writers! Now this can really get good. Luci will have some REAL protection, and Claudio will know exactly who Rosa TL is! No matter how upset Luci may be at first, she won't reject Claudio's help as she won't blame him.
As for nimRod - I loved this - "NIMROD FALLS HOOK, LINE, SINKER and KITCHEN SINK, right into his LIVING GRAVE..." although I might say BACK into his living grave, as he escaped by the hair of his teeth once. The dumbass, of course, digs this grave himself! So how is he going to feel when he finds out Claudio is Luci's father and not some romantic relationship? You know, as irrationally jealous as Rod is, he might still be just as jealous of Luci's father - really of any man whom she admires or who has some authority over her independent of him. He won't be able to "blame" her anymore, but he'll still be jealous LOL!
I really wish the writers wouldn't give us a couple who dont share the same values, and for whom the attraction is simply not explicable. Rod is totally into material things, is a momma's boy, and can't see past his nose. It makes no sense that he would be attracted to otherworldly Luci, whom he can't begin to appreciate or value. Gala and Rod have much more in common.
Loved your characterization of "Mati..frequent role of punch bag of the witches"...hate to admit this, but she annoys me also, that long-suffering mutism of hers just sets me off. (need to be more compassionate, need to be more compassionate, reminder to self!)
Your embedded translations and funny headings were great, and of course WE ALL LOVED THE TITLE!
As stupid as Rod's decision was, it's perfectly consistent with his character as written. He's an intensely physical guy who deals with his anger issues by frenetic working out or frenetic shagging, (which Gala was happy to encourage.) The first might just result in sore muscles, but the second could result in an unwanted, unexpected child. Consequences that will further mess up any reconciliation with Luciana.
Looks like we're in for a long, slow torturous route to a happy ending. But at least now Claudio has a happy ending of his own. Is Melissa ready to be a step-mom to Luciana???? Intriguing possibility.
In fairness, maybe the writers are trying to show us that there is some "evolved" part of Rod, buried deep in his brain, that is strongly drawn to Luci, and thus the powerful attraction. But, gee, if it's buried so deep that he won't even listen to her and throws her away so easily, then it's really hopeless, isn't it? So I suppose they will somehow have Rod "evolve", but to me, what's the point? And why ever would Luci ever be attracted to such a boor? Sorry, I just hate this tasteless Galán. I even disapprove how how he treats nasty Gala, LOL!
NimRod on the other hand...He has sunk so low, and he just played right into Rosa's and Gala's hands. The idiot!
Loved how Connie just smiled and ignored Julie and her comments about Oscar. No one is going to ruin her bliss. Hopefully I'll get to recap her and Oscar's weekend away. What does “H-ness” mean? I took “ligerez” to mean frivolousness.
This episode I felt bad for Boris and Vicky-- victims of Rosa and Max. I wasn't as hard on Aldo as you are though. Vicky is the one who texted him and asked him to come get her. He was joking around in typical Aldo fashion. The kid just doesn't take anything seriously, and Vicky hasn't told him what Max did/does to her, so he thinks she's exaggerating, since she's still trysting with the old bugger and says she loves him. I did see the first hint of hatred on her face though, after Max gave her that aggressive/hard pat on the face and left. That's when she texted Aldo in defiance, but I can see that turning into the kind of hate where Max wakes up like John Bobbit! Don’t push her too far Max. You have been warned.
There is nothing the writers can do to make me like Rod now.
I especially liked your description of Rod's decent into the hell pit that the three witches have led him too(anyone else hear the "Double, double, toil and trouble" chanting in the background?). What a predicatble Dumbass. They know how to play him like the fool he is.
Again, we are suppose to root for this guy, why? I get opposites attract, but if they are both half way sensible people. Rod can't see the trees with his stupid Ego blocking the way at every turn. Jerk.
Poor Boris, for now he should be thankful. And I agree this sets up Jana and Lorenzo. Ha! to that Rosa.
Is Vic on the verge of doing something regrettable? That look into the camera after Max left---he's pushing her to a very dark place. And Aldo is just so adolescent, I'm not sure he's the guy for her either.
SOOOOOO glad the truth has come out about Luci. I honestly didn't think they may go there yet since it would just implode everything. (And those previews sure support that.) But what a lovely change to have this type of explosion of truth come out now instead of at the end.
For awhile there, I wanted to reach thru my TV and just shake Paz during her over-emoting and scream " just tell him already!!"
If this is simply the impetus for Rod to feel bad, not good enough in my opinion. He needs to go thru some more hell himself if he's going to win our girl. Betting Gala plans to let everyone know what happened...he's so toast. Yeah!
Depending on how seriously the judge takes the fraud he could very well give Claudio all the business, all the unfairly earned profits and anything the Torreslanda spent money on i.e. their house during that 20 year period. Frankly that is my favorite scenario, Rosa having to find a tacky apartment, Frigida out of a job, Rod and Max minus their fancy cars and Gala and julie beating feet to get away from the poverty struck TL's. Poor Jana and Pato getting caught up in the nastiness but both of them would handle the descent with the class and grace the older members of the family lack.
Max would still keep Infierno since that is pretty much another SECRET.
Aldo annoys me. While I hated the Max/Vicki scene, (she should just break it off and find another job) . She was clearly frantic and he so he does a mini Max. I would have given him a good slap and told him I"m leaving.
It's obvious to me that Aldo admires Max and sees himself as a mini version of the older man. He just doesn't realize how really dangerous his tio is and he is simply asking for trouble, trouble for him and the somewhat dim Vicki. When Claudio revenge swings into action Max will be doubly dangerous.
Claudio and Paz are going to be formidable in protecting their Luci - Yay! Can't wait for NimRod to find out Claudio is Luci's dad and to feel lower than low. Add me to the chorus that he deserves the hell he'll get with Gala.
UA - I know I shouldn't be surprised by Rod's stupidity was just ridiculous. Marta's quote was so appropriate but you can't call foolish jealousy tragedy, he's just a fool who got played. And yes, Rosa was complete classless w/her Boris stunt. And it will bite her in the behind b/c now the door is open for Lorenzo.
Yes, Max did push Vicky. I just hope she can sustain her anger and not go back to this terrible, abusive, married man. It would be fun if she lured him into bed and cuffed him or gave him Vivi's Bobbit scenario.
Yeah Connie for continuing to ignore the psychos around you. I hope she has a fabulous weekend w/Oscar.
Audrey - ITA w/your assessment on how Rod has been written. Logic would say Luci would be attracted to Pato b/c of his kindness and Rod would stay w/the superficial woman who is similar to his mother as he is.
Decie Girl - I LOVE your scenario for Claudio's restitution. For the business to be taken away or significantly stripped from Max would be a great comeuppance. OT - Did you see the CA finale? It was as ridiculous as you've described most of the TN. At least all the villains were killed or locked up.
JudyB - missed responding to you earlier in the week. Yes, I am recapping Amorcito Corazón. It's a great opportunity b/c its an afternoon TN and I can learn how to pick up more Spanish.

I can hardly wait for St. Rosa to face the wrath of Big Daddy Claudio. Dare we hope that it takes her straight to the manicomio?
There are no words that can describe the disgust I feel for Nimrod - what in the world was he thinking? He is going to pay for this pecado for a very long time.
Vicky, run girl, run! She needs to get far, far away from Max. Surely, she see that guy is just plain mean and their relationship could turn deadly.
Why are Max's eyes always red?
Rosemary Primera
I like Aquiles, too, not sure why.
This TN defines what TN's are. Paz's drama and timing of her revelation, Marta you captured it perfectly!
BTW, while doing research I discovered that Frigida is the real-life sister of Juan Heil-Me of La Fuerza del Destino. Two villains in one family is just like work!
- Max/Vicky=dom/sub. When he had her get off the arm of the chair and kneel beside it, it became pretty clear how their relationship works. Doubt that it will ever change. Just as well Aldo takes nothing seriously since nothing will come of him & Vicky.
- I really thought we were gonna have to wait till Lunes for Paz to pronounce the fateful fact to Claudio. Thanks, writers, for letting it all hang out.
- Rodrigo is his father's son with the jealousy and need to control Luciana. I really want him to flee to Canada with Gala and Julie in tow and disappear. I've been to Labrador in the winter and that would be an appropriately Dante-esque fate for those three.
- Aren't we overdue for another Pato breakthrough in his rehab? Something, anything, wiggle a toe, use his left hand...
Judy- The "jump break" feature can be found in the Blogger editing tool bar, just under and between the "revert to draft" and "preview" buttons.
AAAGGGHHH!!! I missed the Olympics for Gagme"s BIG WIN??? I know the writers wrote it this way but Gagme's BIG WIN/NIGHT was hard to watch---DUMB NimRod!!! If NimRod was half the man that his body says he is, after he saw that he was "set up," he should have left pronto. But I guess that mama's boy couldn't do that. Funny thing, even the padre realized what was going on, you could see it in the look on his face after Gagme and Julie walked in.
Decie Girl----ITA. Madre Loca is trying to plug too many holes in the dike. The dike is going to break and she will get drowned.
Loved your line---Luci's got the Virgin on the case and soon her Daddy is going to swing into action.
Mike---Yes NimRod has anger control problems and would control Luciana. I don't know if he would be able to control Gala though.
Wait till Gala becomes pregnant, then he's really going to have anger control problems.
the gringo
Thank goodness Papa Claudio will be there to protect her.
Rosemary Primera
However, now that Claudio knows that Luci is his daughter, he is in a position to protect her from Rosa. I just hope that Luci learns the truth sooner rather than later. Paz should know her well enough to realize that she will not stop loving her for lack of DNA.
Decie Girl, your jurisprudential forecast is exquisite and I hope it comes to pass.
If he does the Ultimate Stupidity of marrying Gala, who else thinks Julie will move in with them and start hitting on him?
Claudio is a nice guy. I think that up until Paz made her revelation Claudio would have been satified just to have his name cleared. i don't think he showed any interest in getting some kind of monetary compensation from Max. Now however he has three solid reasons to seek revenge on the Torreslanda's, one for Max having smeared his good name (and maybe indirectly causing the health problem that killed Aurora), two for Rosa having stolen his child and let him think the baby had died, three for Rod and Rosa treating Luci as a piece of throw away basura.
I wish Rosa had overheard the young un's announcing that Claudio had gone with Paz and Luci. I'll bet that would have caused a major panic attack. Although I'll take her being blindsided by Claudio. It isn't as if Max hasn't warned her that what she has done will come back to haunt her.
I know some people like Don A. I don't, I detest him. He is a blowhard bully and I don't like how he treats women. He is also a thief, witness how he tried to steal Paz's house and land. He hasn't made me wish him suffering like I do Dead To Me but he needs to be taken down a peg and get over thinking he is some big hot shot.
That trying to force Luci to marry him was what set me off on him as well. I find his obsession with her to be truly creepy and I worry about her going bak to Het Het where she really has no male protectors just a handful of women whom Don A dismisses. Yes Claudio is there but only for the weekend if I remember. However I am hoping he takes her back to the DF and that she goes to live with him. Just think of the massive opportunity that give the dumbass to jump to another wrong conclusion. The more wrong judgements he makes the harder he will fall when the truth comes out.
Thanks for the therapy.Laughter is indeed the best medicine.
