Amor Bravío #30 (Uni 25) Fri 9/21/12 In Which D’Andres Resent’s Rafael’s Romantic Intentions Towards “Cuzin Camila”; Camila Intuits Kimodo Dodo’s Money-Grubbing Marriage Motives; “The Investors” Deliver An Ultimatum To Dionisio; and Isadora Makes Her Final Play

Capítulo 30

When last we visited Hacienda La Malquerida, aka, The Undesirable, Alonso was propositioning Camila, so to speak: go to bed with him again or give him part of the ranch she’s going to inherit as a condition of their divorce settlement!  All of a sudden it hits Cami, who is eyes-a-blazing-impactada, the jerkwad’s only reason for marrying her was money she was sure to inherit once Don Daniel died. She accuses Loathsome ‘Lonso of being shamefully opportunistic.  No, he machine-guns back at her, he considers it only fair after being a faithful administrator of the ranch for the past five years.   If she wants him out of her life without a fight, then she knows what she has to do!  Cam races out of the bedroom and slams the door in his face.  (I’d say that’s a definitive not-in-this-lifetime N.O.!)

Across the way at Hacienda La Buenaventura, aka Good Fortune, Pablo’s middle brother, Yago, has heard from Mariano that he plans to get married without telling their parents.  “—Have you lost your mind?  I came to prevent you from ruining your life!”  Pablo tells him to back off and then gripes at Mariano that he didn’t have the right to tell Yago anything!  Yago’s not part of his “new family” with Luz Maria and has no say in the matter!!   Eliana has had a ring-side seat to this family attraction.

Cam gets to her office and tries getting an appointment with the divorce lawyer that Lic. Becerra recommended to her.  (Bring it on, Kimodo Dodo!  She’s ready to fight for her divorce—and it won’t be pretty if we’re lucky, all things considered, je-je!)  Unfortunately, he is off on a trip till the following week.

In the drive, Daniel begins thinking back to his various encounters with Cam (all of them quite sensual and romantic ones, of course) and hopes she’ll forgive him for ever having doubted her.  He’s realized that she is a terrific person and feels drawn to her because of her self-reliance and her willingness to confront others in doing what’s fair and just.   He realizes that the padre was correct in suspecting Alonso and Dionisio and he’s decided that now he will be at her side unconditionally.

Cam calls Viviana afterwards to unload, but Vivi, thinking it might be her ex-husband, El Bruto De Wife-Beating Bruno, she decides not to answer, then grabs her purse and races out of the apartment.  (Viv, honey, did you forget about the Caller I.D.?) Since Cam can’t reach Viv, she decides to go riding on horseback.  D’Andres enters the office uninvited and they squabble because she’d rather be alone.  Cam shoos him out but explains says she’s in a nasty mood, so she’s going riding.  He pines and sighs as he watches her trot away in a huff caused by her hubby.

Back at Pablo’s place, his two older brothers are still fighting about his marrying a townie and about how their parents are going to have a fit over it.  The gist of this is (I believe, since the CC was skipping half their conversation and that was the half that was machine-gunned, natch) that Yago should have discussed his doubts with Mariano first and not Pablo, and that their father will eventually get over it and forgive the baby of the family.   Eliana sticks her nose in and innocently tells Mariano afterwards that wow, she didn’t know Pablo was getting married!  Yep, says Mariano, and Yago would rather he didn’t. (No sheise, Sherlock!)

In town, meanwhile, Luzma and her BFF are going shopping for wedding gowns.  They’ve got to figure a way for her to hide the dress from everyone.   Luzma says excitedly that she just can’t beleeeeeeive how happy she is!!!  FF>>

El Bruto skulks behind a pillar and (as Viewerville expected) is stalking frazzled Vivi.  FF>>

Luzma tries on gowns and giggles with her BFF.  FF>>

Bruto follows Viv to the cemetery and watches her put a single white rose on their unborn baby’s grave.  FF>>

After a while, Issssssadora pays a visit to Lonesssssome Lonnie, supposedly to see how he’s doing.  He tells her to come off it already.  She doesn’t give two centavos for him!  She only cares about herself, and makes it obvious most of the time.  Hissssadora disssssagrees and inssssssists she’s worried about his arrhythmia.  He disssssagrees and ssssays that it’s because insssstead of bundles of dinero, she inherited a boatload of debt from his dear, defunct, daddy.  She objects and says she’s only trying to protect him sssssince it’s his name on the contract next to Dio’s, and not hers.

Outside on the drive again, Rodolfo notices Natalie staring over at D’Andres and asks if she’s got a thing for the guy.  She walks off and says nope and then mumbles something inaudible.  Roddy seems to be jealousy mooning over her.

Eliana now heads off to chat it up with Pablo and make points with him.  She pretends to want to be his friend.  “—How lucky you are, despite the fight with Yago! At least you have somebody that thinks you’re important enough to travel all the way here and speak to you about it!  On the other hand, I’m just here alone, abandoned.”  She offers to act as go-between for him and his parents.  Our naïve knave doesn’t think twice about the sudden 180 she’s done in attitude.  Pablo says thanks, but he doesn’t think in the end Yago would do anything to hurt him.  (I guess that means he thinks Yago will come around, or at least keep his mouth shut when it counts.)

Cami returns from her lengthy ride.  She says to Augustina, with an accusing look just as Hisssadora and Albatross Al enter the room, that she just had to get some fresh air due to the fact that some of the people she’s been dealing with around there are totally stifling.   Cam then mentions to Gussie that if Sra. Amanda needs anything, to let her know and she   leaves.  Gussy asks Lonnie why they’re still fighting.  He says it’s the same as always and he can’t seem to win her over no matter what he does.  He leaves.  The two meddlesome mamas are left to cluck about being unable to meddle in their chicks’ lives.  Isa also learns from Gussie that the padre’s being moved to Amanda’s B&B when he gets discharged the next day, so that she can take care of him while he recuperates. “--Certainly under her care he will recover [reponderse] quickly!”  Issssadora forces a grin and nods, acting like she couldn’t be happier!

Amanda gets last minute care instructions from the doctor.  FF>>

D’Andres drives Cam over to Viv’s place, but she’s not home.  Rafa walks up just then.  They hug hello and Dan notices how Rafa’s continuing to hold Cam’s hand.  Rafa sympathizes with Cami’s apparent sadness and gets an appreciative look from her in return.  Dan is beginning to feel more and more uncomfortable.  Seems the little green-eyed monster in him has started to stir.

Back at the M.Q., Issssa talks Gussie into getting the fax of DDA’s death notice back for the purpose of destroying it.

Meanwhile, D’Andres is forced to stand at attention while listening as Rafa advises Cam that divorced women are most often taken advantage of by men.  Cam sort of feels that’s already happened and she feels like a fool marrying a guy who only wanted her money.  He says he knows she’ll eventually fall in love again and asks her to give him a chance to be near her for whatever she might need while she goes through getting her life back together again.  They hug and it’s then that Vivi drives up.  The two gals go inside.  Bruto broods while he secretly watches the four of them from a block or two away.

Dan stares at Rafa, and Rafa asks what’s up.  Dan childishly mimics the question and then accuses Rafa of taking liberties and being a hypocrite.  “—Don’t you think you were a bit too affectionate with her?”  “—Yeah and you might as well get used to it cuz I’m going to be doing it more and more!”   “--Oh, so aren’t you taking advantage of her vulnerability now?”  “—No.”  “—Ahhh-hah.”  Rafa makes no bones about it: Camila is a serious thing for him. “--Hey, the difference between you and me is that I really am interested in her.  I’ve waited till after she’s decided about Alonso, but I’m not holding back any more.”  He is adamant about being ready and willing to win her over.  Dan continues his snide interrogation. “—So, tell me.  Just when did you decide that you were so interested in her?  Was it when you found out she was feeling something for me?”  Rather than argue with his friend, Rafa simply says see ya later.  He turns back to Dan for a sec to clarify.  “—Dan, with me, Camila isn’t a game, or an object of revenge, or a passing fancy.  I’m thinking of marrying her and starting a family!”  Dan’s knocked back a bit on his heels and watches speechlessly as his buddy strolls off.

Across town, Dionisio gets the ultimatum from his investors. (Anybody out there guessing it’s probably mob bosses?)   Dio better deliver them La Malquerida within three months or he and Alonso must pay them a penalty per “the contract” and if they won’t, then they both will suffer the consequences!

Inside at Vivi’s, Cam tells her BFF how stupid she feels having tried to be so considerate of Al’s medical condition before hitting him with divorce papers when all he was interested in by marrying her was her money!  The guy just simply turns her stomach!!  In fact, if it hadn’t been for Rafa’s words of wisdom she’d have taken off with D’Andres and the rest of the world be damned!

Speaking of D’Andres, he’s snorting, stomping and slamming car doors cuz he’s still miffed over the tiff with Rafa.  Dan’l’s thinking--like the rest of us in Viewerville have been--that Rafa actually has something to offer a woman, like a real life, complete with the house, a picket fence, 2.5+ kids, a canary, a cat and a dog.  What’s he got to give her as a fugitive from literally being linked for the next veinte años to a chain gang somewhere in the Chilean outback?  Bubkes! That’s what!

Cam tells Viv that even though the information she looked up on the Internet about quickie Mexican divorces suggests smooth going, but she’s certain loathsome ‘Lonso will do whatever he can to insure he gets something out of her.  Viv changes the subject and asks what about her feelings toward D’Andres.  Cam says she was thinking about what Viv had said and sort of agrees that it’s probably just a short-lived, meaningless attraction.  Anyway, he’s strange, dry and way serious.  Viv suggests that eventually she’ll find someone more in tune with her, like Rafa, for instance.  Nah, says Cam, Rafa is just a friend.  Anyway, she’s got to stay focused on her divorce and finding Daniel.  “--Yep, he’s actually really still alive!”

Dio, meanwhile, has raced over to tell Al the news.  They can’t let this go on much longer or else!  Lon says he refuses to risk his skin or to go to jail for their shenanigans!  Dio says think again cuz they’re both up to their necks in this and could lose everything if they don’t solve their problem and fast!  Al self-righteously jumps on his high-horse and states it better losing his possessions than his freedom.  Dio angrily acknowledges his desire to have Al permanently disappear because it would leave Cam free, cuz he would get the job done then!  Al threatens that he’d kill him first!  Dio allows himself a snide guffaw.  “—That requires balls, and you don’t have any!!”  “—You might be surprised.”  Dio calms down and says well, no reason to get our dander up [perder los estribos=flip out, go off the deep end, lose one’s temper].  He says then that the most important thing is for them to find DDA.  Does he have a picture?  Al gets Nat to bring the picture file up on the computer screen.  Dio questions her suspiciously about where she was able to find it, and how she could do it so quickly.  (I get the idea that Dio isn’t really a high tech kind o’ guy.)

Hisssadora makes a withdrawel at the bank.

Back in the big city, Ximena is up to her old thieving tricks again, but this time the new floor manager is ready for her and Xi can’t pull another fast one on the store.

Cam gets back to the hacienda.  Maja runs over and D’Andres mentions the dog’s a good girl.  Yep, says Cam, and what about you?  Dan looks a bit puzzled.  “—It’s just I don’t know anything about you.”  “—What do you want to know?”  She starts to say something but then thinks better about it.   “—Oh, just forget about it!”  She races away.

Alonso walks into the hallway and makes small talk with Cam about the homage for her dead uncle.  He mentions he also hired a P.I. for her just like he promised.  She tells him that since she doesn’t trust him after that spat earlier they had and orders him to send the guy to see her and she’ll take it from there.  The conversation goes downhill from there and she asks him how much it will cost for him to leave her be.  (Yeah, Cami.  Us too!)

Outside, D’Andres takes a call from Dionisio.  They meet in D’Andres’ room where he hands Dio over the photo of Rafa’s brother.   Dan gets paid and is told to keep Dio up to date on (if I remember correctly) both Al and Cam’s daily activities.  Dio leaves and Leoncio skulks by and you figure he must have seen Dio leaving.  He peeks into Dan’s room, sees Dan shoving something into a drawer and scowls.

Luzma and Pablo are making out in their usual make-out spot in the woods.  He mentions Yago being upset at their engagement and that it was Mariano who told him.  Luzma’s scared he’ll want to back out of their engagement rather than be disinherited.  Pablo assures her that won’t happen and they lock lips again.

Gussie sends D’Andres to fetch a document from Lic. Becerra for her.  Before Dan jumps into the car Nat warns him that Al hired a P.I. to find him and had her print out a copy of the picture they’re using.  He tells her thanks and not to worry.

Hisssadora delivers the first packet of pay-off cash to Leoncio and they agree he’ll get a packet weekly.

Across the way at los Albarrán, Elisia and Yago get reacquainted.  They agree that neither of them are interested in having Pablo marry that little townie servant girl.  She tells him who Pablo’s townie is and how she’s tried to break the two of them up, but isn’t having any luck.  She says she’s got to figure something else out and hopes she can count on Yago’s help.  He tells her to do whatever she wants, but not to get him involved [No me embarres = lit. don’t muddy me] in it.

In town, D’Andres waits at the door while Oscar finds “the document” she called him for.

Isssa asks for assurance from Dio that he’ll help her with the details about their priest problem.  He says if it’s to speed things along, then she can always count on his help.

Oscar calls Gussie and asks what document D’Andres was there for.  D’an listens by the hallway entrance.  He hears it’s the DDA’s death certificate.  He’s upset that she wants it back since he needs it to start the paperwork while he waits for the original to show up.  Gussie says it won’t be coming because it turns out there was a mistake and DDA is really still alive.  Oscar can’t understand a mistake like that.  It’s too long a story, she says, to explain right now.  Oscar has sense enough to makes a copy of it just in case.

That evening, D’Andres waits outside while Amanda and Gussie visit with Padre B. in his new digs at Amanda’s B&B.  He’s trying to communicate with them but can only frown.  They misinterpret everything, thinking he just needs one of the tranquilizers his doctor prescribed for him.  They go off to chat in another room.

D’Andres doesn’t happen to notice the peasant woman in a white and red dress who’s wearing a red shawl over her hair, and who's been keeping a wary eye on him from behind the pillar at the B&B’s entrance.  He absent-mindedly gets in the car and drives off.  The camera closes in on her face and lo and behold!  It’s Hisssadora slithering around in disguise!!!

Jardinera thanks so much for this recap. There were some storms that messed up the transmission in some parts so I'm very happy to learn what I missed.

The conversation between Alonso and Dio was amusing. Poor A trying to man-up in the face of a ruthless, evil man.

I still think Rafa is going to blow Dan's cover first.

Dan needs to get the DNA test for peace of mind.

Thanks very much, Jardinera, for this great recap, and for the very helpful vocabulary phrases. So it looks like you've come up with another terrific name: Hisssssadora. I love it! It's the perfect name for this viper.

Karen, I agree with you about Rafa's being likely to blow Dan's cover first, esp. since he keeps calling him Daniel in public, and not in a whisper.

I know that the avances can sometimes be deliberately misleading, but I had the definite impression that the Padre isn't long for this world. Sigh.

Thanks Jardinera, haven't read it yet but can't wait. Just wanted to touch base cause I love this TN and will read and comment later.

Thanks, J! Slept through the whole thing, except one part that has a different man. Must have been Yago.

Cindy

Ok, I finally read the recap and it was terrific. I FF>> through exactly what you FF>> through. Luzma story is a yawner.

Yago, what kind of name is that? I've never heard of it before. Is it short for something?

I believe what Dan gave Dion was the death certificate that was sent to Camila from Chile.

Thanks for the recap, Jardinera!

Finally some subplots are developing, and Rafa and Vivi are becoming something more than a Greek chorus. Especially with Brooding Bruno lurking around. Someone commented a few days ago that the name Bruno seems to suit villains, and I think there's something to that. My late brother-in-law was named Bruno, and given the time he turned up in my bedroom early on Christmas morning (it's certainly possible he lost his way, and he did leave when I started screaming) and more importantly the time the police found two tons of cocaine in a warehouse under his name, I guess he fit the picture.

I think it's Iago, short for Santiago, no? I kind of like the Pablo-Luzma subplot--both of them are pretty and likeable, and I like it that Pablo so far has brothers to help and to make trouble, rather than parents for a change. Plus there seem to be more potential subplots pending there, with two more attractive Albarrán males and another (competing?) bull-raising rancho.

But Eliana's a pain and too much of a cliche, I agree. Why not go after Yago/Iago instead? Her odds look better with him than with Pablo.

And of course my favorite part was Dan getting jealous of Rafa making the moves on Camila. Didn't Dan agree to lay off Camila when Rafa agreed to let him use a picture of his brother to pose as Dan?

I don't get the whole "Elisa must marry Pablo" thing either. The kid is just out of school. Wouldn't she be better off with Yago instead? He seems more her type. And he should stop calling himself Yago. It's terrible.

And what exactly does Lic. Becerra do? At first I thought he was a lawyer but since Camila didn't go to him for divorce help, probably not. Accountant maybe? If so Camila needs to get that ranch audited asap. She's suspicious of Alonso now and needs to follow that up with some action.

Too bad they couldn't have given Alonso and Diablo a picture of Viv's ex-boyfriend. Solve 2 problems at once.

Kelly

(I think the verification is using Hebrew numbers now. How am I supposed to figure those out?)

Oh, don't get me started on the photo. All I can say is that Rafa's brother better turn up to have his life endangered (and, ideally, to fall in love with Viv) in order to justify that estupidez. Natalia could have come up with a photo of some random young man on a different continent in twenty seconds.

Utah Desert: Welcome!! Interesting post! LOL!
============
Kelly: I believe from Yago (the way it was spelled on my CC's) that he already knew about Luzma and might even have been interested in her himself at one time.

As for Lic. Becerra, yes he's a lawyer, but he told Cami that divorce work wasn't his area of expertise. I believe. That's why he gave her the other lawyer's card.

Cathx: Yep, Dan agreed to stay away from Cam, but I think he's just starting to realize how difficult that promise is going to be to keep. I did enjoy the little jealous tantrum Dan pulled on Rafa, tho', myself.
==============
Cindy: I fell asleep too! I have an old vcr that is as good as any Timex watch, tho' and it keeps me going. LOL.

Kelly: In order to avoid those word verifications (which we all hate) simply sign up at Google mail for an email address. That's what you sign into before coming to this site, and you will be automatically recognized, no verification garbage necessary, and your name even shows up in blue on the comment line!! LOL!

Good work, Jardinera.

Those "socios" do look mobbed up, but per Televisa law and Cesar Evora's status El Diablo won't be sleeping with the fishes anytime soon.

Becerra should be talking with somebody in Chile about the accusations against Daniel. Then he -- and we -- would know what the real deal is about Miriam. The writers need to close that loop.

I'm not sure that Hisssadora (love that one) isn't lying through her fangs about Alonssso's late father dying in debt. She looks just plain greedy to me. And evil.

We finally see Maja again! Sweet dog. Camila has to realize that if Maja likes Andres he's a genuine good guy.

As to Mariano's other brother, I think he has potential as an Iago. It will be interesting to see whether he and Ximeana team up against somebody down the road although I think that Ximeana will probably chase Mariano since he is the heir to that property.

Thanks, J. Great recap of a good episode that was well worth the wait.

Among the many funny lines you have provided, I am especially tickled by Dio's "snide guffaw".

Our main plot and the sub-themes seem to be in play so it's now a matters of watching the weaving in and out of it all. Writers doing very well in my bood.

Jardinera, I have a google account and I still have to do word and number verification to post a comment. Sometimes I have to reverify 3 or 4 times before I get it right.

ps. I finally have one I can actually read without trouble.

Also, maybe since you have front page access, you don't need to verify to comment.

Wonderful recap as always Jardinera!

My favorite little scene last night was when Cami and Dan arrived back at the hacienda and Maja came running up and went to Dan first. Cami looked and her and said, "I said come to ME." Then when she asked Dan if he was a "good boy" like Maja is a good girl. Ha! Anyway, that Maja is a big flirt and she likes her some Dan. :)

I really want Vivi to tell someone about Bruno. I was hoping Dan would see him lurking. I still have hopes that Dan will be the one to catch him before he does anything else to Vivi. That whol situation is just creepy. I wonder if he felt that since Vivi visited their baby's grave that it means that she still has feelings for him. Blech!

I also enjoyed Dan and Rafa's little spat over Cami. Loved Rafa spelling it out for Dan. But he really needs to STOP calling him Daniel in public. Same with Nat.

With yet another brother at the neighboring ranch, there are more men to go around. Good. There are usually too many women and too few men in these tns. So far Iago seems a bit serious and snobby, but he doesn't seem evil/bad since he isn't willing to help ILLiana in her plans. Nice to see this actor after Familia.

Nat needs to stop looking at Hunk#1 in the charro suit, and start looking at Hunk #2 in the charro suit. Not a bad second choice, I say.

Cathyx- I sign in with Google like Jardinera recommends, and I only have to do the verification every now and then (once every two weeks), if I get signed out for some reason.

Vivi- Do you have front page access too? I am signed into my google account but I have to verify every time I post a comment.

I'm with you about Natalia. Rudolfo? looked at Nat with that I really like you look. And I was hoping that Dan would notice Bruto too(love that nickname) and wonder what he's doing hanging around Viv.

I was getting worried about you Jar, but it was all worth the wait. Need my AB fix on Saturday before I can get anything done.

Loved the spat, right there on the sidewalk and the Dan-Maja affair. If Camila doesn't hurry up and tear down her emotional wall, it'll all be over before it starts. Dan will be taking Maja for a naked moonlight swim before Camila gets a toe wet.

Karen you were the first to comment and the first to come up with two truths. Rafa will be Dan's undoing and he needs to get a DNA test before Camila falls for him.

They call Lic. Becerra a notario, which is not quite like an attorney in Mexico, but has more leeway and power than notaries in the US.

I had a Google account since the CME days, but I still had to prove I was not a robot every time I wanted to publish a comment. As a recapper, that did disappear, but Vivi says it's now intermittent. Even with glasses on, I could hardly read the numbers and they choose letters deliberately run together so you can't tell if it's a b or an h. Answer to your frustration? Become a recapper!!!!
Anita

If anyone hasn't read UtahDesert's comments from Saturday evening on AB #29, do so. They are priceless.

It's nice to see new people commenting who have something insightful, relevant and funny to say and Utah, you are one of them.
Anita

Ah! So that's the trick. Everyone should become recappers!

Thanks Anita. Just read UtahDeserts comments on Cap. 29. You're right, they were excellent. Hope they comment more often!

I'm loving these comments. Kelly, I agree: giving Bruno's photo as Dan's brother would have solved a lot, but then the TN wouldn't get all tangled up in sub-plots, and what fun is that? :-)

Anita, I loved your comment "Dan will be taking Maja for a naked moonlight swim before Camila gets a toe wet."

And thanks, Anita, for calling attention to UtahDesert's great comments at the end of the previous recap. UtahDesert, I feel as you do about the galan in this TN: he's fine to look at, but he does nothing for me other than as eye candy.

Thanks for the great recap. Love your sense of humor. It's a good thing that I know that Rafa and Vivi are trying to protect Cami from falling for D'Andres (whom they believe is her cousin). Otherwise I'd say "enough already" of all the counseling and anti-DAndre advice.
Jardinera, you wrote: D’Andres can only offer Cami “Bubkes”! Que es Bubkes?

I also am signing in through my Google account and have to prove I'm not a robot each time. It's rare that I interpret correctly the first time. There are days when I give up trying. I've learned to copy my message before hitting the send button because the message dissapears if you hit send and the code is wrong. I paste the saved message into the new screen.

As far as becoming a recapper, I wish I did know enough Spanish to do it. I have so much admiration for you guys and gals who are so fluent.

UtahDesert and others,

I appreciate the good comments about our galan. I go back and forth on CdlF. He's not up to Silvia's skill level as an actor. She was better matched with Fernando Colunga in Manana es para Siempre (and it took him a while to become a strong actor). I didn't watch her with Juan Soler in CME. (She was wonderful with Jorge Salinas in the movie Labios Rojos.)

On the other hand, CdlF's physical presence is so strong that he is can be very compelling as a partner to Camila -- for me, any way.

I will admit that Cristian de la Fuente is my telenovela boyfriend and I may be biased here, but in all fairness to him, he hasn't been in this TN that much yet. He has had minor scenes and little dialogue. I think it would only be fair to wait until he gets a bigger chunk of the scenes and dialogue before we pass judgement on his acting chops. Just sayin'.

Thanks everyone, for such a nice welcome! I think I'm signing in with a Google account this time, but let's see how it appears.

I've enjoyed reading the recaps (and discussions) here for a while, but since I've never before followed a TN as it was broadcast on Univision I haven't been able to participate. I used to watch various ABC/NBC/CBS soaps, but I haven't been able to afford the time for years. With telenovelas I can always tell myself I'm working on my Spanish, as well as gaining insight into half of my family.

Great, so I'm logged in, but the name isn't appearing. The above post from Unknown is me, UtahDesert.

Foxy: Hey there! "Bubkes" is some goofy slang?/term I picked up years ago on T.V. maybe in the 60's and it means "zip, zero, nada". It isn't Spanish or "Spanglish" as far as I know, so don't feel bad!

Anita: LOL! Naw, I will always get my post up and if I don't you can think the worst at that point! I'd have to be in a coma or the victim of an EMP attack!

AS for CdlF, he was really excellent in CS2009 and in Fuego de la Sangre IMHO. It could be the direction or the camera angles and editing in this one, or even the super short haircut, that makes him seem like a gangly awkward teenaged boy in a man's charro outfit. But I agree that he hasn't had a chance to really act, just to stare a lot or stand around like a statue. Now when he got into it with Leoncio's character and Rafa's character, the Alpha Male pheromones came right through the screen at me. MMMM-HMMM! Get him some real screen time with the Camila character and lets see if the screen starts to melt or not.

I had forgotten about CdlF in Fuego en la sangre -- so many actors coming and going in that one.

I love Jardinera's words about his awkward adolescent look. I hadn't been quite able to put my finger on what didn't seem quite right.
I agree that he hasn't had a chance to show his chops yet, but I'm comfy with him and am enjoying this TN a lot. It will be fun to see how the actor evolves with the passage of time (a lot of time!)

Hunk #1 and Hunk#2 are both pretty good looking, along with Pablo and brothers. Vivi's right, plenty of males to go around.

Bupkis is Yiddish for "nothing" or "something worthless. I just bookmarked this Yiddish Glossary which -- as a New Yorker -- I should already have memorized. :(

Jardinera - Thanks.

Enjoyed Daniel's nose out of joint about Camila and Rafa too. I guess he doesn't believe he's Camila's first cousin.

NieceMd: I'm really starting to wonder if they're playing with taboos in this one.

Urban: Thanks for the info!

Daniel has said on more than one occasion that he doesn't believe he's Camila's cousin, although he has no definitive proof. When he read Don Daniel's letter, he said his mom would never have done that, and restated that to Amanda, I believe. Again, that doesn't make it so until he has actual DNA proof, so I wonder too how this will play out.

At some point Becerra has to know the truth of Daniel's identity. I think it will begin there.

Dan refuses to believe that his mother would have died without revealing something so important to him, like his father wasn't who he thought it was. I think he's right. Although it was obvious that her time in Mexico was a special time for her, and now Dan knows the reason was because of her love affair with Don Daniel. It is interesting that she chose to name her son after him, and that her marriage ended soon after her return to Chile.

Jardinera: Stellar recap, as always.

Why did Yago and Mariano allow a private conversation regarding their family take place in front of Eliana, who is a relative stranger?

Speaking of Eliana: I thought for a moment she was making moves on Yago and he rebuffed her. I also feel like when she’s made up as Slutgirl, she looks older than Pablo.

I’m a romantic so I this may be wishful thinking, but I thought Amanda and the doc had some chemistry going on there.

I was stressing that Bruno would hear Rafa call D’Andres “Dan”. He was probably too far away, but I thought with TN super hearing, he just might. I agree with everyone else who says it’s going to be Rafa who outs Dan. He just can’t seem to grasp the concept that D’s trying to hide who he is. Sheeesh!

I’m still not into this galan, though he’s had his moments lately. He’s handsome enough, but not my type.

Robey, did you see him in CS 2009? He looked wonderful in Victorian clothes and with slightly longer hair.

UA: No. That's one I should try and catch if they ever repeat it late night/afternoon.

I think he might grow on me once he's allowed to do more than just hang around.

Just what's wrong with a little eye candy anyway?

His character has had to be reserved given his place on the ranch (or what they think is his place), but like Jardinera said, he steps up when needed, like against Leoncio. And really, if I were Natalia I'd fall inlove with that smile too. Maybe the other farmhand whose name I can't remember now needs to smile at her more. He's attractive enough himself.

Going to a Spanish language group tonight and their doing a reading of Blood Wedding. Sure glad our novelas have happier ending.
