Abismo de pasión #133 9/19/12: Dam/Elisa finally find their circle of love(Fantasy Island, anyone?) while the hen house is out of control back in La Ermita... does anyone there work at all anymore?

Refrito:
Gab/Carm: with me you have a REAL man…
Paolo/Flo: I am leaving… ok, go. I am staying, my dad was buried here. Why? None of your bidness. Its cause of Kike? Bye.
Palo/Kike: I came up with one more stoopid decision made. I’m leaving town so I give you back your word of marriage. Go talk to Gael. No. cause no, your situation and mine are not the same. Flo is free, and I know she loves you and you love her...
Loopy/Alfie: I got a whole bucket list before I ‘go’. Have to talk to my boy and apologize. It was not my fault, I did not help Flo trick him. She deceived me too.  I am also afraid all my life I have been wrong. If I am no longer around, you have to find out the truth… what truth?... (she takes a breath and leans over, Loopy fears time is up on little botox sis)
At beach, Elisa gallops away on Damian. Poor Dam falls to sand devastated.
Lo Nuevo:
Carmina has debriefed Gabino and he is sitting on a rocking chair, hand bandana dirtier than ever… blue head band… Carmina at his feet like a door mat (weird to see her in this position when she has always called the shots on her relationships), they are enjoying the chat about all the folks who have had a streak of bad luck lately… Gabino swears to Carmina that he will get Alfie to ally with Carmina to destroy Elisa.
At hacienda, Tonia is worried talking to Loopy. Maybe Dona Alf is faking it… not this time.  Edmundo confirms that Alfie is seriously ill … have to get her to agree to let a cardiologist see her, try to get her sent to Merida hospital.
Elisa gets to a small pharmacy/store near beach, calls Lucio. Lucio is excited to hear from her finally. He asks her where she is… she seems to think about it on the spot, then does not tell. She just tells him that she is ok and not to worry. Hangs up. Lucio passes the news to Lolita. Lolita says it doesn’t add up. They need to let Gael know.
Back to Alfie’s bed and her bucket list… sorry Loopy, letting a cardiologist examine her is not on her bucket list, so no go. All items on her list have the name Damian on them. Loopy asks her to clarify what is it she was wrong about. But then Tonia interrupts them to tell her Gabino is there to see her urgently. Loopy wants to send him away but Alfie wonders if Gabino has news on Damian or wants to talk of something important. Loopy says ‘as always it will be done as you want’(como siempre, como tu quieras). Alfie wabbles her way to couch. Gabino comes and gives her some small talk and reminds her when she asked him to bring Dam/Elisa when they escaped as kids. Alfie not willing to deal with him again. He is not so sure, he could go find them again. Alfie wonders the price of that task. The stock? Gabino says I voluntarily offer you the plane tickets I have here with me. (Alfie is suddenly very interested) He claims the tickets are of no value for him, she says Ingrid has told me otherwise, she assured me the name on the ticket is another woman. Gab turns it around on Ingrid. What II sold you was her own pride. She knew that planting doubt in you would make you drool harder for the tickets. Gab suddenly has a painful twitch and twists his head in pain… voices a tantrum about II swearing he was the man of her life, only to turn on him and shoot him on the head. Alfie not quite feeling sorry for him. She knows II is B… but you are not that far behind… I don’t trust you either. Gab says he came in peace. Gives her the tickets. If you never had a proof that Rosie and Stefie were lovers, here it is. I hope you will find a good way to thank me for them and for realizing you were right. Alfie can’t hide the pride/satisfaction. Find my son and Elisa pronto, then we will sit to negotiate.
At beach, Elisa gets back and notices Dam has high fever. HE wakes up and wonders if he is dreaming or if she is really back. She gives him pain/fever meds she got at the store for him. (DZ is doing a good job with acting feverish, crossing his arms trying to keep himself warm)… she helps him take the pills with water. Then lets him lay down again. HE asks her ‘no me dejes’ (don’t leave me). She won’t. He needs to rest. She notices he has his amulet on his neck. After Dam is asleep again, Elisa takes the papers out of the leather bag. Reads the divorce document… then Flo’s letter. Elisa visibly impactada.
At hacienda, Loopy comes back to Alfie’s room. What did Gab come to? To remind me that Stefie, Carmina or Elisa.. the Bouvier Supremes, are guilty of my past and my present misery…
At cenote, Gael is upset/irate, grabbing a tree and is going beserk screaming and crying, taking his anger to another notch… Paloma watches him crying from the other side of cenote. I(somehow i can see Gael as the big bad wolf blowing the beach hut down...) Then Paloma goes home to Ramona. She understands Gael’s anger, but she can’t sit and wait for the day Dam and Elisa return to watch Gael take revenge on them. Ramona says there is a way to detour Gael’s anger/focus. Paloma says no, won’t tell him. Don’t want him to know.. ever!. Won’t marry Kike now. Pal admits Ramona was right in everything. ‘you don’t say!’ (no me digas!) Just add it to my tab list of mistakes. So what now? I am going far away. Will start over elsewhere.  Ramona ironically says then we will never see each other again. Paloma asks her to come with her. Ramona makes Paloma wait until next segment… Nah!, my place is here. Paloma is afraid they won’t see each other again. Ramona does not really want to see Paloma make it alone with a child. Think about it. Running away won’t make you get over your feelings for Gael. Paloma knows that but will avoid seeing him daily. Maybe will be able to start over and be happy elsewhere. Ramona says you are right, you will never be happy as long as Gael loves someone else, Elisa is tattooed in his gut…Only death would make Gael stop loving her.
At beach, Elisa is frantically looking for her amulet that she threw away… can’t find it. She comes back to hut. (have to note her dress is miraculously white still…) she brings a lamp over to Dam, it is nighttime now. Dam wakes up, seems his fever has let down some, she smiles. He is better, I think. He asks her why she came back. She felt remorse to leave him behind ill. HE is not getting it. Why did she worry if she was set on killing him. She never meant to kill him. But he questions that, she is not willing to argue so she gets up. HE will bring her back to LaErmita tomorrow. He has got it that she does not want to be with him, but with Gael.
Now they are sitting at a table. Not exactly a very lady-like posture on Elisa, so I hope Lolita will be around to teach Elisa’s kids a more proper behavior for young ladies… Elisa notes the owner of the hut has been really nice to them bringing them food. Elisa had to give her earrings to the pharmacy guy for the meds. Dam will get them back for her. Elisa plays nurse/mom on him, have to finish the meds. Thank you. NP. Dam stands up but gets dizzy. Elisa worries his fever is back, caresses his face. He gives her back her amulet, saying maybe she dropped it. He puts it on her, and is about to kiss her… close but no cigar. She turns away. He grabs his straw mat and is heading out. She says you can’t sleep outside feeling ill. She follows him out, she won’t allow him to sleep alone out there. HE asks if she really worries for him. She says more than I wish.  They kiss slow and passionately… BU-YA!!! (somehow I am let down by the scene… is it lack of chemistry? Is it that they are two stoopid youts who have no clue what they feel? Not sure) Her undies are very lacey… shorty shorts, what else?
At Lucio’s Gael is mad that Lucio did not get more info. He is not even sure Elisa is as ‘ok’ as she said she is. Easy for everyone to criticize him if they are not in his shoes. Lucio compares him to Augusto after Stefie’s accident. Gael himself criticized him for going on self-destruct mode. Gael says now he understands Augie. And even justify him. Just like him, my best friend stole the woman of my life!!
Back to lovebirds in the dark beach… tell me I am not dreaming. Tell me you are here with me and it is not a fever delirium. I am with you here. Loving you as I always dreamed to do. Need you to tell me you love me.. I love you. I love you as I have never loved before. I will always love you. My Elisa… tonight you are mine, only mine!...
At quinta, Lolita comes over to tell Carmina Elisa called to say she is ok. Carmina tries to mock Lolita that Elisa is only following her mom’s footsteps but Lolita won’t have any.  Sad that a woman like you, having had a chance to have it all, would finish … (asi) like this (making gesture with fingers of something small/insignificant). Carmina demands Lolita leave the keys, Lolita fakes handing them over to her but ends up walking away and dropping them on the foyer table (nice touch, Lolita!)
Paolo and Gabino meet at the Rincon café… Paolo mocks Gabino on being the new boy-toy for Carmina. Gabino says we were destined to be together and I have waited long to be with her in the conditions I wanted. But let me tell you Carmina is a darn plague with no cure. Gabino brags nothing can finish him off, not even a bullet in the head. Paolo says don’t worry about me I will be gone tomorrow. Gabino denies owing him anything, and if you appreciate your filthy life, just go away. On his way out Paolo leaves him a final comment a la Gerry Springer… that bullet in the head is playing you… Two guys sitting at next table follow Paolo out and since Gabino turned and watched it happen, we could 'infer' that Paolo's breaths left are numbered... (thank you Ann-NYC and EJ for noting that, totally missed it) (I have a question... does Gabino really believe he is ALL THAT that Carmina will stay true and loyal to him for good? poor Gabino, dream on! you are just one of her 'peons' she uses to make her moves.)
At hacienda, Edmundo is commenting with Loopy that Alfie needs further tests, the EKG showed some irregularities. What she has is a blockage in the heart (sounds mighty serious... ). He can’t force her to admit herself to hospital. The cardiologist set up a rigorous treatment plan for her, she has to follow it strictly. Loopy will do his best to convince her to go.
Gael stops by quinta to find out if Carmina has heard of Elisa… Carmina tries another swing at feeding his jealousy saying Elisa still oves Dam. Gael avoids the shot again … missed again Carmina! (actually, I bet Gael doesn’t even believe what he responded to Carmina, that Elisa now loves him, but that is another matter, he did not allow Carmina to get her hit).
As a final scene, we get Dam caressing Elisa, stands up from the mat, but then remembers Elisa yelling mad at him, and…
1)      Swearing she now loves Gael more than she ever loved him
2)      He has been so naïve he never realized she is everything the town has been saying about her.  (with accompanying gestures that remind the audience of her Teresa character)
3)      She slept with Gael. So if you brought me here to prevent that, too late. Your friend already had me.
Way to torture yourself, stoopid boy.. didn’t you just have her swear love to you?
Previews:
Dam trying to make Elisa swear she will always be with him.
Dam and Elisa continue the honeymoon… Elisa saying they will have to go back and face the music.
Gael telling Flo Dam took his woman by force… (yeah right, not even you believe that Gael) … he will make Dam pay for that with his own life.
Gabino playing with a shotgun (ready to kill Elisa and/or Dam? or maybe ready to do what everyone else believes Augie did... put an end to his migraines)

What was learned in this episode:

Damian learned he is insecure about Elisa's love for him*.

Alfie learned that Estefania "was" Rosendo's lover.

Lupe learned Alfie has a blockage in her heart**

Paolo learned everyone wants him to hit the road jack and never come back

Lucio, Lolita & Gael learned Elisa is "ok."

Paloma is learning even though she loves Gael, he can't be with her while obsessed with Elisa

I would like to learn: Did Paloma return that big ring of Enrique's?

*I don't blame Damian for being insecure about Elisa's love, since a) he robbed her at gunpoint from her wedding to Gael; b) she was brandishing guns and screaming at him that she hated him & wanted to marry Gael only a few hours ago; c) after declaring that Gael intrigues her as a woman & that she wanted to marry Gael, she has sex with him. And since Alfonsina & Florencia have tricked & deceived him all his life, how does he know that Elisa isn't doing the same thing? Maybe that's why they should have waited a while to have sex but I'm quite sure Elisa will follow in Paloma's footsteps & end up embarazada.

**Alfonsina has a blockage in her heart, literally & figuratively and some drastic action will be needed to unblock it.

Anon, my issue, and this is why i consider them both just as stoopid, is if he is going to doubt/question which Elisa is telling the truth, why ask her to say she loves him, if he will question her word. So he declares his love, makes love to her all night AND THEN questions her love/word. somewhat sounds imature and insecure to me.

the more i think about it the more i believe Flo and Kike would be the couple with the most potential of a long term relationship. The main four young'uns in this show are not quite stable/secure/mature/ready for healthy functional harmonious marriages in the long run.

Thanks, Marta, for catching absolutely everything in your recap. Wonderful.

I don't blame Damian for being insecure, either, Anon207. How INDEED does Damian know to trust Elisa? So you think she will end up preggers? Wow, that would be complicated. Elisa and Paloma both pregnant...I can't imagine either one as a mother.

Thanks again Marta.

EJ

Marta, do you think that Paloma will really leave L'Ermita? We know that Gael really left—for about 2 days. Maybe Paloma will do the same. Julia asked yesterday how Paloma would take care of a baby. I have no idea of what kind of a job she could get.

I agree, Florenrique is the couple with the most long term potential. The others have a lot of growing up to do:

Both Elisa & Damian need to stop being victims. If they want to be together, they need to declare that, then be together. But they're too invested in being "victims" (just like with the Damian/Elisa sibling story...they had blood tests...which should have shown at the time if they were too closely related. All Damian/Elisa had to do was go back to Merida & get a DNA test...but they were too invested in being victims that the thought never occurred to them).

Paloma & Gael need to get over their obsessions with Gael/Elisa. Just because you want somebody doesn't mean they have to want you back. Doesnt' work that way. And both Paloma & Gael are due some punishment for cheating on Elisa. Gael just wanted to have his cake & eat it too. I have no doubt he would have gone creeping for sex with Paloma once he got bored with Elisa just laying there thinking of habaneros...and Paloma would willingly let him come creeping, too.

Marta, thanks for a great recap.

Watching Dam and Elisa in a clinch all arms and legs entwined, I was wondering how long did it take for them to come to an intimate and amorous position without even an arm or leg touching....lol.

Ann-NYC

When Paolo left, didn't Gabino turn back and look at two men and they seemed to take the cue and left and seemed to follow Paolo. I'm thinking he set two guys up to kill Paolo....??? Do you think???
Altho how did he know Paolo would be in the cafe, but it did look suspicious, especially Gabino's grin when the two men left.

Ann-NYC

Oh yeah, Ann, those guys looked very menacing. Can't we presume that Carmina wants Paolo dead and Gabino wants Carmina to be happy? 2+2=Paolo may be taking his last breath about now. No spoiler, of course, just a guess.

EJ

Does anyone know where I can get dvd of the whole two seasons? It was filmed in front of my house and I would very much like to keep it for leisurely veiwing.

poor Flo if Paolo is a goner... she has had a HUGE price to pay, losing both her dad and her uncle...

I am still laughing at Ramona's 'you don't say!' reaction when Paloma finally confessed Gael is her baby daddy.

Marta- Thanks for giving us so much marvelous detail!

You know, if Dama nd Elisa would just talk to each other and tell each other things, they wouldn't be so torn up with confusion, jealousy and anger. It seems like they did the deed without: 1) Elisa telling Dam she lied about doing it with Gael and loving Gael; 2) Dam telling Elisa that Flor was a liar who lies and is no longer his wife or baby-mama; and 3) Elisa telling Dam that she read Flor's letter and is only now changing her attitude about getting it on because she knows he's a free man, plus #1 above.

So they have sex with each other without any of this stuff being cleared up, and before the straw mat is even cool, Dam is having doubts about Elisa. Good grief!

Now that Alfie's locked and loaded again and gunning for Elisa as never before, our couple will have to be particularly strong to withstand the upcoming challeneges. I bet they fold once again at the first sign of trouble or appearance of "rivals."

I'm not even going to talk about Gael's hypocrisy. I can't stand that he's playing the wounded/betrayed innocent. (Even Pal was feeling sorry for HIM!) I just want someone to spill the beans already that Pal is pregnant with Gael's baby. Come on Quique! Do us all a favor.

I still can't believe Raquel Olmedo (Ramona) has not aged a bit since she played Dominga in Esmeralda in '96...

I agree that Gad sent those two guys after Paolo. Once you're in La Ermita, you don't leave...at least not alive. (Kenia, Ingrid, Guido)

Marta: Yes, I wouldn't have been surprised to see Mr. Rourke or Tatoo pop up but I think the accommodations were slightly less plush than at Fantasy Island.

The recap was wonderful. You conveyed all of the drama and romance beautifully. "Carmina at his feet like a door mat (weird to see her in this position when she has always called the shots on her relationships") was excellent but my favorite line was "Gabino playing with a shotgun (ready to kill Elisa and/or Dam? or maybe ready to do what everyone else believes Augie did... put an end to his migraines)". Perfect.

So now that the fake tickets have been served, I suspect the only way Alfie could be convinced otherwise is if the real ones surfaced. As they were "buried" with Ing, then someone must have retrieved them before the grave was sealed. That has to be when Horacio will surface...The real tickets are the only definitive proof that it was Carmina.

Now that Alfie is hell bent on destroying Elisa (even further), I don't feel there is any hope for her redemption. Carlos??

Anon, great list of what we learned.

Most troublesome lines of the night: "Ramona says you are right, you will never be happy as long as Gael loves someone else, Elisa is tattooed in his gut…Only death would make Gael stop loving her." I hope Ramona is wrong. For once.

I thought David's acting was great last night - in both his "sick" and romanace scenes. He can be very appealing.

Think Paolo has ceased to exist on this earth. And Marta, ITA that poor Flo now has no one. Let's hope Enrique will forgive her.

Diana

Ramona says you are right, you will never be happy as long as Gael loves someone else, Elisa is tattooed in his gut…Only death would make Gael stop loving her

Vivi, about...
So they have sex with each other without any of this stuff being cleared up, and before the straw mat is even cool, Dam is having doubts about Elisa. Good grief!

back when we were discussing La Mentira in '98-99, a whole discussion went long on whether Veronica could have lost her virginity from riding horses... so maybe here it is the same... either that or Dam is so med-heavy he would not notice if he 'took' her virginity... so it is possible that at this point, after they do the horizontal, he would still doubt whether she did it with Gael first or not...

I agree that Dam has room for doubts about which Elisa was telling the truth... but does he need to wait until right after they do the horizontal and they have a 'love you/love you forever' vowing session laying down? so he had his cake, and THEN questioned the baking process/recipe?

Marta- ITA! It was just plain tacky for DamFoolish to start having all these doubts AFTER having sex with Eliar. But this is what comes from both of their stupidness.

When Ramona said only death would get Gael to quit Elisa, maybe (hopefully) she wasn't referring to the death of one of the principals...

Such a great recap.I tell you though, even re-reading the details, I still shake my head at some of the antics and conversations of these people.

"Just because you want somebody doesn't mean they have to want you back." Thanks Anon207. The incessant whining by Paloma, and now my poor Gael ( a shadow of the man we thought he would be) is getting on my last nerve. Frankly, I would look Gael in the face and say " think about it dude, when did she ever declare her undying love with real meaning in her eyes. You really think Dam would be "holding her against her will"? Do the words, you dodged a bullet mean anything?" Of course, unfortunately, the writers have landed him with a pregnant Pathetic, so he goes from the frying pan to the fire. Poor guy.

Now, what peeves me about Elisa hanging up on Lucio is that DAM WAS RUNNING A FEVER. Such undying love she doesn't try to get the guy medical attention, just some aspirin she picks up? Stoopid, meet Stoopider.

Paolo - Dead Man Walking.

Where oh where is Horacio??

Alfi-- I see a hospital major operation looming. They wouldn't kill her off would they--or would they? Pride goeth before the fall sort of thing-refuses to get help and then Bam!

Still what, about a month to go? Gees....

That was an interesting pose with Gabino in the rocker and Carmina at his feet. The very oddness of it all struck me.

" . . . letting a cardiologist examine her is not on her bucket list, so no go."
Oh puh-leeze, then die already and get it over with. I would not be inclined to lift a finger for anyone with that attitude. ~rolls eyes~

HORACIO has not been seen for a while. Maybe he has been spying on Gabs, will 'out' him on Ingrid's burial and further redeem himself?

the Bouvier Supremes, --- BwaHahahahaaaa

I loooooved Lolita's exit from Carmina's house.

When Dam was dizzy, I wondered if he might be pregnant.

"I have no doubt he would have gone creeping for sex with Paloma once he got bored with Elisa just laying there thinking of habaneros
ROFLOL!!! "Lie back and think of England … er … habaneros, dear."

Ann-NYC - I interpreted that Paolo/Gabino/two thugs scene the same way: Gab's hit men.

Right now, the only sympathetic characters on my list are Lolita, Braulio, Maru, and the horses.
The rest could just go fall into a big abismo and I would. not. miss. them.

I forgot my manners.
Thank you marta for the wonderful recap! Great snark and better than the episode itself.

Thanks for this excellent recap, Marta. I also cracked up when Ramona dryly said, "You don't say! My recording cut off before Damien started that paranoid fretting, so thanks for filling that in for me.

Diana, I still have no doubt that Alfonsina will be redeemed (even more so with the fake airline tickets) but with her heart problem, I'm afraid that she won't be with us when this ends. If Doc Tovar can't fix it, then it's really serious.

Well duh, I thought when those two guys got up it was because they were intimidated by Gabino. It didn't even occur to me that they are going to take care of Paolo for Gabino.

I really enjoyed watching Carmina toy with Gael's brain. She is an expert.

Carlos

i am wondering why they aren't even saying it is in ultimas semanas yet... how long do we have left? about 40 eps (10 wks?)

Thanks Marta. I'm so tired of the deceiving in this TN. Just when it looked like Alfonsina was finally coming around, the fake plane tickets breathe new life into the deception. Now Damian is going to believe that Elisa and Gael were lovers. I guess I should have expected this since there are 30 more episodes left.

Marta-I believe there are 164 episodes. If we get 5 a week, that's 6 weeks. Usually they start the notices for ultimas semanas when there are 4 weeks left.

Can someone tell me if this show is on at 9:00pm tonight? My tv guide is always wrong.

Cathyx- Whatever time it was on in your area last night is when it will be on tonight. The President Obama interview will be at the same time as the Romney interview last night. Not sure how the schedules change for the different timezones, but EST the 7-9pm shows were at their normal times, and no Amor Bravio at 10pm.

Thanks Vivi, on both threads. I hate my comcast TV guide. It's wrong so often I can't trust it.

Thank you thank you Super Marta Miercoles for the fantastic recap! Honestly I breathed a big sigh of relief when Dam and Stoopid finally did the deed, then I laughed hilariously when Dam started to have doubts. Serves him right. Serves them both right.

Interesting comments today about our four main protagonists. ITA they are mostly messed up. Gael's characters especially has really veered off course.

Right now the characters that really interest me are Ramona and Padre Lupe. They both know some important truths but refuse to spill the beans. I love the character of Padre Lupe and basically he is a kind and good man, but he has been holding back some MAJOR information for many years. The dude is seriously weak in that area. Just sayin'.

What? More time changes for our telenovela? I just checked TV Guide online and it says Abismo is preempted tonight with Amor Bravio airing at 10:00. But I checked my Tivo and it shows no change in scheduling. Bah, guess we'll have to wait and see.

doris, "When Dam was dizzy, I wondered if he might be pregnant." practically made me snort my tea all over my laptop. Thanks for the chuckle.

Just Mahhhhvelous, Marta. Thank you.

I would agree that Quiqui and Flor have the best shot of making it as a couple, IF Flor wasn't half of that couple. Of the 6 young adults, only 1 is not nuts.

Alfi needs more than a rigorous treatment plan. A whole heart transplant would serve her well.

Dam's insecurities remind me of Assgusto's.

Thanks Marta...I'm always amazed at your ability to catch every detail and nuance and still crack wise. You're the master.

Daisynjay...I think Elisa also got antibiotics for Damian, not just aspirin. She left with three different bottles and one of those he had to take until it was all gone, even if he already felt better-- and that's the standard advice for antibiotics.

But whatever, I'm so bored with these two I didn't even watch their love scene, just closed my eyes and listened to the song because IT at least has not lost its charm whereas this couple clearly has...for me anyway.

Gracias, Marta.

I thought there was finally a bit of chemistry in the romance scene, although I realized it was the lighting and camera work and most especially the music doing the heavy lifting. These two characters still don't connect well. How much real intimacy can they possibly have when they refuse to communicate honestly?

Also, I am just going to tell myself that they each took some off-camera swims and that the hut rental guy provided toothbrushes...because they'd been there for two days already in the same clothes, in a sweaty climate, after a long horse ride, and Dam was sick to boot. Ick.

Gabino is still my favorite character to watch. He may be evil, but at least he isn't pathetic.

Loved your recap Marta! I always feel like I get a turbo boost of understanding after reading your detailed recaps. So nice to be on the inside track!

Anon 207, your list was inspired today.

Carlos, your Doc Tovar references crack me up.

Vivi in DC, can I just tell you that your Arlington neighbor TOTALLY agrees with everything you post each day? You are always dead on with your observations!

Gabino's "aging" in this TN has been the most difficult for me to swallow. If anything, he looks YOUNGER than when he found Dam and Elisa when they were children. So the idea of him being their elder is a stretch. Secondly, they aren't 10 years old anymore. Unless he's going to bring them back at gunpoint (which may be where we're going), why in the world would they go with him. And Alphonsina has been moaning for days that she wants to see her son before she "dies". Does she really think bringing him back at gunpoint, by his nemesis, is the road to mending their fences? For a smart lady, she's stoopid too.

Perfect recap, Marta, as always! Thank you so much! :)

"When Dam was dizzy, I wondered if he might be pregnant."

Doris, yes! You nail best quip of the day!

Thanks, Marta! This is terrific. Like Blue Lass, I wondered just WHOSE death is necessary for Gael to Wash That Chamaca Right Out of His Hair.

In El Clon, the in-laws gathered outside the newlyweds' bedroom and waited for the son to wave a blood-stained sheet in their faces. I could imagine Alfie among a crowd like that.

Daisynjay, I thought Elisa got antibiotics for Dam. You don't need a prescription for them in Mexico and the pharmacist often is available for consultation and diagnosis. It's pretty common for people to leave physicians out of the treatment loop. (And consequently, overuse of antibiotics is even more of a problem there than it is here.)

Carmina ends up with her head in a lot of laps, doesn't she? Hmmm....

Dolores always comes through! I loved the Contemptuous Key Drop. Perfect.

"Now that Alfie's locked and loaded again and gunning for Elisa " -- Great turn of phrase, Vivi!

I hope Elisa takes some of those antibiotics herself given the spit swapping going on.

Thanks, Marta! Thorough and entertaining as usual. I liked your take on Alfie refusing to see the cardiologist ("not on her bucket list") and your notation about Elisa channeling Teresa from the 'hood. Guess they must get cable somewhere in La Ermita...

Several comments on Carmina with her head in Gab's lap, but nobody mentioned her biting him on the inner thigh. I'd be a little more careful in his, ah, position.

That's one way to make the headache seem less severe.

JudyB, Dam and Elisa were so boring to me last night that I was doing a jigsaw puzzle during their luuuurve scene. I guess I don't get that same luxury tonight unless the show is preempted.

Marta, your comment about a cardiologist visit not on Fina's bucket list really made me laugh, too. Hopefully she won't kick said bucket before Doc Tovar works his magic on her.

OMG you guys are right about Carmina always having her head in someone's lap. Funny!

Marta thanks for the recap.

You all have been great with the comments. Doris yours was excellent! I too am bored with the leads and with cathx about deception on this TN. Just like we saw 2 fake babies from the same woman now we get the same villains after 2 of the brain-challenged protagonists I've seen.

thanks for the comments everyone. last night i had to turn to the other characters to find the humor because Dam, Elisa and Gael just made me mad.

OT: wow televisa has managed to block every clip of LHDM from youtube. but gmab! as great an actor as Arturo Peniche is, that is nasty casting for the Molina character. and Pablo Montero as Coloso?? GMAB! Is this supposed to be LHDM 20 yrs later?

What dumbfounds me about the fake plane tickets is that Gabino had the real ones, and he buried them with Ingrid. Do the fake ones have someone else's name? Otherwise, why would he rat out Carmina?

Dam's insecurities remind me of Assgusto's.
It is often said that a woman marries her father and a man marries his mother. On some level (YMMV), there is truth in that.

If Doc Tovar can't fix it, then it's really serious.
LOL , Carlos

marta - I am not going to watch the Telerisa/Meh-ia version of LHDM. Boycott city.

Do they ever re-run their better shows? Let's say, is there any chance we'll get another viewing of CME?

Doris- Gab didn't put Carmina's name on the ticket, he put Stefi's name on it. So now Alfie feels that she has been right all these years and totally justified in her hate for Stefi, Elisa, Carmina (because she's a Bouvier) and all things Castanon as well. In fact, now she feels MORE justified because she has physical proof that Stefi was a man stealing whore. So we are back to square one.

Vivi-a man stealing whore. Way to say it like it is,lol.

R la O, they definitely re-run past telenovelas, both good and bad from what I have seen. It would be fun to watch CME again, especially the scene where Fina sings Ave Maria.

Vivi in DC - Thanks. I was FFWD--> thru some of the scenes and only did a fast read of the recap. My Evelyn Woodhead 'spid'.. er .. speed-reading skills are not up to par.

Yes, Sylvia, I would love to see CME from the beginning, which I missed out on, and also now that I have a better ear for Spanish. Let me know if you hear any scuttlebutt about that happening!

Super Marta, you are like the ***best girlfriend ever*** retelling a deliciously, delightful story with little shots of personality, “somehow i can see Gael as the big bad wolf blowing the beach hut down...,” “Not exactly a very lady-like posture on Elisa” “somehow I am let down by the scene…is it lack of chemistry? Is it that they are two stoopid youts who have no clue what they feel” Thanks for the excellent translations as well as your funny, fun running commentary.

What an hysterical mess this novela is. I agree with those who are liking Salvador’s performance, he’s kinda/sorta stealing the show. It’s funny when he calls Carmina “ojitos”, he has “ojitos”(and much more!) too.

Just a question, I noticed yesterday that Florencia said something like, “I can’t have a baby with Damian.” Does that mean that she can have a baby with someone else? I thought there was a uterine problem. Did anyone else notice that nuance?

Ditto what everyone has said today..........

Flor can't have a baby with anyone -- and one of the things she said to Enrique when she visited him was that he should stay with Paloma because she could give him a baby, and Flor never could.

Thanks Blue Lass....

Flo has 'matriz infantil' (basically undergrown uterus unable to conceive or carry a fetus to term).

I was just watching Primer Impacto and they had a little story on David Zepeda celebrating his birthday with his girlfriend and some of his friends. Amongst his friends were Gabino, Enrique and Doc Tovar. David is a very composed and well-spoken man.

There are 161 episodes, episode 161 being the 2 hour grand finale.

Thanks Marta! - great recap of a very annoying episode.

Sylvia, remember David Z is a lawyer as well as a tennis instructor, so it is normal, I think, to be composed and well spoken in that case.

I think they had a piece of that bday celebration in Gordo y Flaca too, and i have that taped so will watch after the Prez show.

My Tivo schedule says Abismo will be on at its usual time and the Prez show will air at 10:00 afterward. So it looks like the recap will go on as scheduled.

Thanks for the details i know im quite late her but just watching the series now and need to understand something pls
Is Damian upset with Elisa because when he slept with her he found out shes not virgin which means she really slept with Gael and gave him everything??
