I'll be gone for a good part of the day. I really appreciate the opportunity to recap. It makes me realize just how hard the recappers work. I couldn't just FF through the boring parts like I usually do.

Well the writers did have Ramona's prophecy about II doing in Gab come true. Now when is her turn?

I wonder how long Dam will go along with this hare-brained scheme? And by the time Fina gets the revelation that her hatred has been misdirected in spite of her never making a mistake, I bet Flo tells/shows Dam the amulet. Good times.

"Polite Dam" had me snorting in laughter. Really dude? You are so polite that you will take the rap for shooting someone? I totally agree he must think it's the most expeditious way to avoid his church wedding.

More later, I haven't finished fast forwarding, er I mean WATCHING this episode yet.
 

Fabulous first recap Cathy!! I still haven't had a chance to watch, but am trying to catch up this evening.

I watched some of Friday's episode. Uhm, did anyone mention how HOT Braulio looked smiling after he kissed Lolita? Yowza!

Dam fine is Dam stoopid. He's taking the rap for Ing, a woman he hardly knows - oh, wait, she's the mother of his former best friend who's going to marry the woman he loves, but can't marry himself because he's betrothed to the mother of his fake baby.
 

Cathyx, you are a natural. Polite Dam was a real hoot.

Way to go, Flor, changing the lock. She's definitely getting smarter.

I think it's funny that Flor, Braulio, and Carmina are pretty much the very same characters these actors played in Mi Pecado. I wonder if they got to work every day and looked at their script and thought, "this sounds so familiar..."

Poor Doc Tovar... another ethical challenge (but I liked his Madras shirt). I've confidence that he'll do the right thing even though a dead Gabino isn't necessarily a bad thing.

Well, well, Ing shot Gab and DAMAIAN is going to take the blame??? I have to admit, the writers threw me for a loop with this one. What is heavens name does Damian get out of this?

Can't wait to see how Doc Tovar of the L'Ermita miracles saves Gabino from a certain death and brain damage. I know people survive being shot in the head, but I do not think it is very common.

However lately this show could have been subtitled, "The Adventures of Bad Gabino", so I don't think they will take Gabino out of the plot. Hmmm, should be interesting. Nothing like a little attempted murder to inject some energy into our flagging, sagging story!

Our story may flag and sag, but Gabino never does. It would be tragic to lose him. I don't think a minor little gunshot wound to the head will keep him down for long. That isn't where he stores his brain, anyway.

And once again, the writers just go there with some stupid, outlandish plot twist. Dam Stoopid, think man. ( I know it's hard, but you can do it). If the woman swears she was getting knocked around, and has the bruises and cut lip to prove it, and we are dealing with one of Mexico's more inept policy forces who will pretty much buy into anything, why in the blazes would you take the wrap for this?? And you have a wife with a pretend baby on the way--but no, more important to take the wrap for....oh never mind. The interns must have taken lunch, and now Mrs. Beanie's 6th grade creative writing class is writing this TN.

I do want to say, that I thought the Doc and Gab looked rather fetching in their almost matching madras plaid shirts. How cute--II's lovers coordinating their outfits.

Gabino will survive this because we have too many episodes left. Nothing to damage in that skull casing. And Alfonsina still needs to find out that her late husband was boinking the TangelHo. That will be a memorable catfight when that finally happens.
 

Cathy way to step up to the plate and hit a homer! I was so sad thinking we had no recapper and this was such a juicy episode but then you came through for everyone! And ITA with all who say you are a natural born recapper!

I think a good title for this TN could be "Ingrid Hijacks Abismo". I mean, really. Am I wrong in my feeling that we ALL hate her? And yet every night there she is with the most screen time, overacting like she's going for the Oscar. I was SOOO happy to see Dam and Elisa get a little chemistry going on at the jail in the avances. I mean, this show IS supposed to be a romance, right? About Dam Stoopid and Eliar? Let's get them back in the spotlight.

Thanks everyone for the kind words. I realized after reading the comments that I forgot to put a title. But I love the one that is there, that sounds like one I would have written.

Maybe after suffering from an injury and having brain surgery Gabino will start to be a nice guy. And then everyone will want to be his friend and all the women will want him. That would be a hoot.

Is Doc so in love with Ingrid that he would be willing to see to Gabino's death? Doubt it, because his integrity has already been tested. Will he tell the police?
 

As much as we hate Ing, she is playing everyone in this tn like a fiddle. The folks in La Emirta are slow and stupid, even Alfie whose brain can't compute that Carmina is the ho that her hubby was running away with, despite the evidence. Ingrid is running circles around them. She was *this* close to having Dam thrown in jail for killing Gab, and then of course making the big reveal that Gael is an Arnago, opening the doors to those big bucks. She would get Gab's house and money. Her son now wants to care for her and is calling her mama. She's achieved a lot in a short time, all while enjoying the pleasures of Gab's bed. Sure, she lost a daughter in the midst of all her scheming, but Ing probably thinks it was a more than fair exchange. She's a piece of work, that one. She's right that she's squeezed more out of La Ermita than the Orange One has in all her years of scheming and scrappping.

It seems that E Tovar,M.D. has integrity, as you say, but no taste or judgement. He will probably just make up that Ing is hysterical and doesn't know what she is saying.

Cathyx, what a scream! A stellar debut!

My favorite lines:

- He took her money, kept her hostage, cheated on her, and called her stupid many times, and this is the thanks he gets?

- Polite Dam knocks and knocks.

- She says she doesnʼt want to go to jail because she will miss the wedding and she wants to wear the ugly mother of the groom dress.

I thought the same thing when Dam finally went for the scheme -- that he was thinking wow, why didn't I think of this before? Shoot someone, and I don't have to get married on Saturday.

 

Daisy, I thought Mrs. Beanie's 6th grade class was doing a really good job on this episode -- lotsa plotsa! -- but they must have all run out before the end to look at the horsey, because there were the police in front of Hacienda Beltrán, TELLING ALFONSINA ALL THE DETAILS OF THE CRIME. Surely they would realize that she is also a suspect? Along with...well, everyone else in town? Sheesh.

I finally finished the episode and it is just as I suspected, the recap was WAY better than the original. Thanks again cathyx, you gave me many laughs this morning and again this afternoon.

Did anyone else hear Ingrid tell Gabino that she bought a fake marriage certificate so that when he dies she will inherit everything? That is why she's so keen for him to kick the bucket. Vivi was right, she is running diabolical circles around all of them. That girl does NOT like to share.

Julia, "that isn't where he stores his brain" completely cracked me up. Thank you for that.


 

Yes, I loved the matter-of-fact way she said, "And guess what I bought? A marriage certificate!"

Thanks Blue Lass. It was such an unexpected and off-the-wall statement I wanted to make sure I'd heard right. Didn't Gabino look shocked? It was such a delightful moment.




 

Marriage Certs at Abismart? Why not? We already know they do wedding invitations. We saw today that Abismart has locksmithing service as well.
 

I have to say I really, really, really enjoyed this episode. I've got a new plan whereby I get up early and watch while I'm drinking my coffee. Gets the day off to a nice start, and I'm *much* more alert.
