El Diablo has arrived to give Camila the death certificate
of Daniel Diaz Acosta – bum-bum-BUMMM!
Viviana looks on incredulously as he announces, “there’s no doubt now.”
Becerra’s Office
Osvaldo comes straight to the point with Agustina. From the moment she mentioned Dionicio’s
name, he knew he had heard it before. He
remembers Dionicio had once offered to buy Don Daniel’s rancho. It’s too much of a coincidence that he’s
appeared once again now that Don Daniel has died. Agustina jumps to the conclusion that Becerra
is accusing Dionicio of using her (c’mon Aggie, take off those violet colored
glasses). She further concludes that Osvaldo
thinks it’s not possible for a man to find her attractive. (oh, this is going really wrong for Osito –
woops, wrong TN). He tells her she
couldn’t possibly believe that of him, knowing what he feels for her. Aggie suggests that this is then un revancha (revenge) because she hasn’t
returned his affections in all these years, saying it’s so easy to discredit
the man she’s falling for. “No,” he says, “that’s playing dirty (jugando sucio) and I would never do
something like that!” He only wants her
to realize that Dionicio is a stranger, an unknown. He only wants her to be forewarned lest she
receive an unwelcome surprise. Well, Aggie
is appalled, saying he’s the one who
has surprised her. Good Day! She leaves in a huff!

Brat Girl’s found what she was looking for in that desk – a card. Possibly a phone number?
Church
D’Andres meets with Padre.
He’s been thinking, the good Padre, and he believes D’Andres isn’t the
only one that’s being victimized – Camila may also be a victim. D’Andres isn’t surprised he’s defending
her. Padre explains he’s discovered
Dionicio Ferrer is the one behind the sale of the Rancho. He also believes Dionicio and Alonsssso are
accomplices. This would explain the
motive behind Alonssssso marrying Camila – thinking she would be the sole heir
to el Rancho. D’Andres is still not
convinced she’s as innocent as Padre believes she is, saying that Alonssso’s
supposed motive wouldn’t do him any good if Camila, as the owner, wasn’t ready
to sell. Padre won’t change his
mind. He’s convinced Camila’s as much a
victim and D’Andres and that’s why El Don changed his will – to protect
Camila. Possibly the letter that Don
Daniel left for D’Andres will corroborate his theory. Finally, he goes for the letter ………but not before
Rancho Malquerida
Pieda answers the kitchen hotline. Brat Girl has called,
disguising her voice and asking for Leoncio.
Piedad is immediately suspicious.

On to more important matters: Padre returns and hands D’Andres with the
letter of recommendation written by friends of his from Torreon. If anyone should ask them about D’Andres,
they’ll vouch for him, saying he’s worked for them and is trustworthy. (c’mon already – get to The Letter!) He hands him an envelope. Inside, there’s a picture of D’Andres which
Padre assumes is from the time that El Don launched that investigation. DRAT!
In comes Agustina before we have a chance to find out what’s in that
darn letter! Curses! She’s ready to return to El Rancho. He leaves the envelope with The Letter in
Padre’s possession. PIÑACATES! As they’re leaving the church D’Andres hands
her that letter of recommendation. She never doubted him but thanks him for the
letter just the same.

Camila is sad to hear of her cousin’s death. Dionicio reminds her he was a fugitive from
justice and she reminds him Daniel
was her cousin. Agustina and D’Andres
walk in just then. She asks him, very
conveniently for us, to fix the pump in the fountain that just happens to be
next to the parlor where Agustina and Alonso have now joined Camila, Vivian,
and El Diablo. Isadora listens from a
balcony as D’Andres also listens while working on that pump. They learn of
Daniel’s “death certificate”, which Alonssso considers good news. Agustina scolds him and Camila tells him she
had hoped to meet Daniel. Agustina can’t
understand why and Camila explains she would have liked to know if Daniel had
ever had a chance to speak with his father and what happened with the death of
his wife. Alonssso can’t believe she’s
so naïve. Daniel was a criminal. His death resolves everything. Dionicio points out that Camila comes out
ahead. Not only because she can now take
possession of her uncle’s property, but also because she’s done with the
problems associated with that tipo.
Camila wonders if his body was found or was he declared dead because he
was missing. Dionicio claims the warden confirmed
the body was found. D’Andres looks up at
this news. Camila wonders if they can
claim the body and Alonsso comes undone, as does Agustina. Camila would like to give Daniel a dignified
Christian burial because he was her uncle’s son. Agustina is dead set against the idea, saying
they aren’t even certain he was indeed Don Daniel’s son. Camila doesn’t waver, Don Daniel named him as
heir and feels it’s only right because he had no other family. Alonso thinks those are stupid, sentimental
ideas. Stupid or not, says Camila, it’s
her decision. She’s going to ask that
Daniel’s body, or ashes, be brought home.

Leoncio finally comes to the phone. Brat Girl poses as a “friend” saying she’s
concerned Luzma is about to make the biggest mistake of her life. Some rich guy is taking advantage of her and
has convinced her he’ll marry her on her birthday. Leoncio just stares at the phone as Piedad
walks in. He doesn’t say anything but
just walks out ….. ruh-roh! Better yet,
PIÑACATES!
Rancho Malquerida
Parlor
Dionicio tells Camila that the body was badly decomposed and
besides, he was buried in a common grave.
That’s how it’s done in Chile.
Agustina and Alonssso agree that takes care of that. Alonssso tells her to assume her position as
heir to everything Don Daniel owned.
Camila reluctantly agrees she’ll have to step up as owner. Viviana wonders why the death certificate was
sent to Dionicio and not to the lawyer, or the Mexican Embassy, or to the Ranch
for that matter? Ha! El Diablo gives her that killer stare as we
go to commercial but not before seeing the reaction on everyone’s face. bum-bum-BUMMMMM
Luzma’s school
Pablo arrives but only finds Irene who tells him he’s at
fault for getting Luzma suspended. He
wants her to deliver an envelope to Luzma.
He explains their wedding plans and also asks her to be witness at their
wedding.
Rancho Malquerida –

Dion explains that in order to help the family, he became
good friends with the police chief and therefore was able to have the
certificate faxed to him. “But didn’t
you say you were in contact with the prison warden?” asks Viviana, aka Perry
Mason. He admits he was but now he’s
talking about the police chief. He
wonders if this line of questioning means to undermine him and question the
validity of the certificate. Viv backs off and apologizes. Camila assures her it’s cool. Alonsso says bottom line, Daniel is dead and buried
in a common grave. Dion got involved because he was asked by the family for his
help. Agustina is grateful for his
help. Dion thinks the proper authorities
will soon receive the original death certificate. He was only there to inform the family as
requested. Camila also thanks him for
his help. D’Andres gets the water
fountain running, he’s heard enough and leaves but not before Isadora notices
him. She hadn’t seen him from her perch
on the balcony.
As D’Andres walks away from the Hacienda, Rodolfo tries to
talk to him about the new calf --the cow died L but D’Andres ignores him and keeps on
walking.
Inside, Viv tells Camila she really must leave. Camila still wants to know what Viv meant
when she said Camila should talk to Andres.
Viv says she’s changed her mind and tells her never mind about
that. She leaves. Camila walks through the parlor where El
Diablo and Diablo wannabe are waiting.
After she passes through El Diablo tells Alonsso they must talk and it
has to be today. He has a date with
Aggie later and he’ll make it a point to find his way to the den so they can
talk.
In the dining room Aggie and Camila set the table and Aggie
comments she thought Viv’s comments were uncalled for. She didn’t realize Viv was aware of all the
goings on in the family. Camila says Viv
is her BFF and tells her everything.
Aggie’s not cool with all the questions Viv asked. Camila defends her saying she thought her
questions were very intelligent. Camila
says she’s planning to see Osvaldo later about the estate. Aggie plans on calling her sister Ximena (we
haven’t seen much of her lately) to tell her how everything now belongs to
Camila. She hopes Ximena will want to
come and spend some time with them.
Camila doesn’t think so, but whatever.
Alonsso and Dionicio come in to say they’re going to the wine cellar to
pick out champagne to toast the good news.
Monterrey
Speak of the diabla, Ximena is out shopping. The sales clerk is her friend and they’ve
worked out a plan where Ximena pays for only half of what she’s buying. Her friend then takes off the sensors of the
more expensive garments and sticks them into the bags with the other clothes. Ximena then gives the salesclerk a portion of
the worth of the stolen merchandise.
Simple, no? The clerk is worried
she’ll get caught. She’s getting a new
boss and it won’t be so easy. Ximena
bullies her into agreeing to continue this scheme. Stupid salesclerk asks Ximena to give her an
advance on what she’s taking cuz she’s got bills.
Rancho Malquerida
Viv goes in search of D’Andres as Dionicio and Alonso meet
in the den. They both complain about
Viv. Alonsso wonder aloud about the
Certificate’s authenticity. “Es falsa,
imbecil!” says Dionicio. How else was he going to push the plan forward? The
investors are pressuring him. It’s dangerous
to keep losing time and money. Alonsso
complains, again, about being kept out of the loop. Dionicio reminds him who’ s in charge. He hopes this makes it very clear that when
he’s determined, nothing will get in his way.
Alonsso says it’s very clear and the best thing of all is that once they
sell this Rancho, he and Camila will
never have to set eyes on him again.
Dion laughs his evil laugh and Alonsso picks at his claws (Salúd!) Dion tells him not to be too sure. Don’t forget he and Aggie are novios! Bwahaha!
But seriously, the only thing left to do is to convince Camila to sell
the ranch and it will be up to Alonsso to deliver……or suffer the consequences. Alonssso assures him he’ll show him he’s also
capable of getting what he wants. Dionicio
only hopes that’s true, for Alonsso’s own good.
Viviana finally finds D’Andres who’s brooding by the
roadside. He’s convinced they’re all in
on it and Viviana’s convinced that only Dionicio and Alonsso are involved. She can’t believe Camila and Agustina are
involved. D’Andres reminds her what they
said about him in there. She tells him
if all Camila wanted was to take ownership of the ranch, she would have done so
by now. And she wouldn’t have asked for
the body. D’Andres sees it differently –
saying she only wanted the body to prove he was dead! They both calm down and he asks if she’s told
Camila the truth. She was going to but
after what just happened she realizes it could put his life in danger as well
as Camila’s.
Irene finds Luzma and hands her the envelope brought by
Pablo with the paperwork needed for the wedding. She’s happy about the wedding news.
Padrecito comes looking for D’Andres and runs into Natalia
who tells him about the death certificate.
He claims, “no puede ser!” He
runs inside.
Rancho Buenaventura
Mariano talks to Pablo about his plans after marriage. He’s cool with them living on the ranch with
him but reminds him their parents own the place and not only will they not let
him live there, they’ll most likely disown him once they hear about his
marriage. Pablo doesn’t care – he’s
finished his studies and is ready to begin working whether or not they are
supportive. He wouldn’t trade Luzma for
all the money in the world. Mariano sees
he is truly in love and is very proud of him.
Rancho Malquerida
Padre walks into the parlor to find Mama and Baby Kimodo.
Alonso confirms the existence of the death certificate. This is un infamia (disgrace), says Padre.
If Alonsso thinks this solves all the problems, he’s very wrong. They’re only beginning. He and whoever brought that certificate are
involved in something very serious.
Alonssso doesn’t know what he means by that. Padre calls him a liar. Daniel is alive and he knows it! Alonssso and Isadora tell him he’s wrong. Padrecito is adamant Daniel is alive. Furthermore, he finally admits he’s talked to
him! (ruh-roh, my Spidey sense is
tingling. I have a feeling Padrecito
will be headed for the pearly gates if he doesn’t shut up soon) Alonssso wants to hear more. He grabs the old man by the shoulders and
starts to shake him down. “Tell me
everything!” Padre admits to having a
photo left to him by Don Daniel and that’s how he was able to identify
him. Isadora pulls Alonssso off and
apologizes for him. Pointing his finger
at Alonssso, Padre tells him that his attitude convinces him that the
certificate is false. False like
you! And your love for Camila!
Aculco
Daniel has driven Miss Camila into town to see Osvaldo. He asks if he can run over to the church
while he waits. She agrees to meet him
there because she wants to speak to Padre.
Church
D’Andres comes looking for Padre and discovers he’s gone to
La Malquerida. He kneels in prayer to La
Virgencita and flashes back to his journey here and the woman who told him
about La Virgen de Guadalupe and gave him a medal with her image. His mother taught him to pray to La
Virgencita and says when he prays to her he feels his mother is with her and
asks that they both help him, give him strength.
Licenciado Becerra’s
Office
Camila shows him the death certificate. He explains he won’t be able to act on
anything until he has the original. They
speak of Daniel’s misfortune. While
she’s there, she asks him if he knows of a good lawyer. She has a “friend” who wants a divorce.
Rancho Malquerida
Parlor
Padrecito continues to lay into Alonso, saying he’s a vile,
unscrupulous man. He took advantage of
Camila’s dignity and coaxed (engatusar)
her in order to get the ranch to himself.
Isadora comes to Alonssso’s defense, telling Padre he can’t accuse her
son without proof. Padre assures her he
will have them and he’s planning to go to the authorities to investigate that
“certificate”. He swears all of
Alonssso’s fechorías (misdeeds) will
be uncovered! Alonssso screams at him
that he can’t do that. Padre: “PIÑACATES!
Sure I can, I’m going to show you!”
He leaves and Alonssso can only
pant and say “no puede ser”. He’s
gasping for air and asks mommy for his pills.
She coldly tells him to get them himself and she runs out of the
parlor.
She catches up to Padre outside, pleading with him not to go
to the authorities, saying he can’t go to them with only suspicions. Padre’s not about to change his mind. He feels he should have done this long
ago. She follows him up to the truck but
he takes off.
Leoncio asks if there’s anything he can do to help. She tells him Padre must be stopped and she
offers him 3 million pesos to keep him from talking, to get rid of him. He makes the sign of the cross and considers
he’s a padrecito. She doesn’t care. He mustn’t talk! He understands because priests are always
butting their nose into everyone’s business.
He agrees to help her – well, that didn’t take much convincing.
Aculco
Camila finds D’Andres waiting for her outside Osvaldo’s
office. He tells her Padre is at
Malquerida. They head back to the
ranch.
Somehwhere in a nice
cocktail lounge
Dionicio has given our Aggie a pearl necklace. He tells her to think of it as a way to
formalize their commitment. She’s happy
that life is finally smiling upon her.
She asks why he’s never married.
Get ready, girlies (and guys) cuz here comes a heavy dose of Dionicio Dung. He has never fallen in love……until now. She tells him he’s come into her life at the
perfect time. Camila is married to
Alonso and although they are having problems, Camila is sure she’ll forgive him
in time. Her only worry is her daughter
Ximena, she’s so independent. He doubts
Camila’s marriage to be saved. Agustina
is sure it can because Alonsso has shown Camila that he’s very remorseful. Dion: If
she wants his “honest” opinion, he
doesn’t think they’ll mend their marriage.
If Camila were his daughter, he’d take her far away from here to forget
about everything and start her life anew…..somewhere else. He’s only thinking out loud here, but why
doesn’t she convince her to sell the ranch?
Aggie: What? That ranch is her life! Dionicio:
Also her agony. I don’t think
she’s happy with Alonso. Imagine,
running a ranch of bulls for the ring? Aggie now lets on that Osvaldo told her Dion
was once interested in buying that ranch.
He admits he was once interested but he realized running a ranch like that
required too much sacrifice, he changed his mind. Oh no, he wasn’t about to enslave himself to
that. That’s why he doesn’t believe it’s
the best place for a girl like Camila.
Aggie: You’ve got a point there. I was never happy with the thought of her
being a veterinarian and spending her time among bulls, cows, and stables. But when we came to live there, Don Daniel
got her hooked with those bulls.
Dion: But he’s no longer
here. The whole bullfighting dream was
his, not hers. Face it, La Malquerida is
not the right place for you and Camila to spend the rest of your lives. Aggie’s still not sure about selling the
ranch and Dionicio then suggests she speak with Camila. They can travel to Europe and that can help
Camila think about whether or not she wants to continue being married to Alonsssso. Be supportive, that’s what Camila needs. Aggie wonders how they’ll pay for a European
trip. Well, with the sale of the ranch,
says Dionicio. While they’re gone, he
can arrange the sale and then catch up with them in Rome, Paris, or wherever they
may be. Dion: Imagine you and me together in those
places. Aggie: It would be like a dream. Dion:
A dream that can come true! But only if you can convince your daughter
to sell the ranch. Camila deserves a better life. A full (plena)
life, a happy life. Phht, phht, phht….reel her in!!!!
Meanwhile the chase
is on…..
Padrecito is going as fast as he can in his little pickup
and there’s an SUV coming up fast behind him.
Padrecito says to himself, “No Alonssso, you’re not going to
stop me. I’m going to turn you in right
now!”
SUV is getting closer!
Padre looks over as the SUV comes alongside and realizes
it’s Leoncio driving! Leoncio runs him
off the road and the last we see of Padrecito, his head has hit the steering wheel. PIÑACATES, that envelope with The Letter is
on the seat next to him!!!
