CORAZÓN VALIENTE – VIERNES – Part 1

Hmmm. Jean, here on the West Coast I got a whole hour of Corazón Valiente.

Miggy has decided to give in and make love to Fabiola. Things are proceeding very well when his cell rings. He ignores it.

At the wedding Pablo and Emma are full of joy looking at each other at the altar. JM keeps looking back for Angie, who is in the foyer of the church telling Gus how sorry she is about hurting him.

The Reptile is in the nuthouse knotting up her sheets and cursing Ángela and Miggy.

Miggy tells Fabiola he’s in her hands, her prisoner. Rats! Someone pounds on the door. It’s a maid saying that Alex is on the phone and it’s a matter of life or death. When he answers it, she tells him the plan is to take place at the wedding, and to be careful of El Verdugo. He asks what she’s doing with those people. He says she should tell him where she is and he’ll come for her. This is the last straw for FF, who throws him out.

The truly disgusting D8D tells Nora that she hasn’t come about their daughter; she came for him. He asks her if it’s because she can’t bear him marrying someone young and beautiful. She slaps him and then he kisses her. Sigh. She finally rubs off his kiss. When he says she can’t forget him, she asks how she could forget a man who imprisoned her for 25 years. She runs out. He’s not over her either. He’s the most shaken up they’ve shown him and clutches Clara like protection.

Ángela is sitting in the pew while Emma and Pablo say their vows. Something is triggered and the whole tape starts to run through her head: their first meeting, her saving Génesis from drowning; coming to his house as a bodyguard; her own wedding that finished up with her being arrested; JM taking Juan Cruz from her arms. JM comes to sit with her and asks if she’s OK. She tells him she’s not his love. She remembers everything. She pulls away from him.

Sam and Willy talk about the Berlin trip. Nico is there too and Willy begs his pardon but he doesn’t trust El Jefe. Sam says she’s wanted to go on this trip her whole life, but if that’s how he feels, she’ll stay in Los Angeles. [I think the reason she never went before is because Jefe mentioned it being about owners of agencies, something she wasn’t before.]

Rod shows up and knocks on FF’s bedroom door, having run the gauntlet of a glowering Miggy. He moves in for a kiss, but she flops on the bed going on about how much she hates Miggy.

JM asks Ángela what happened. She says in a sort of litany: her love stopped when he didn’t believe in her innocence; when he took her son from her; during the fire; when he made love in this house with Fernanda; when he thought she was dead and married a killer. Now that she’s not two people anymore, she doesn’t want him in her life.

CORAZÓN VALIENTE – VIERNES – Part 2

Rod tells FF that Miggy is not the right guy for her, plus this Army idea is crazy. He wants to take her far, far away. She refuses to go.

Sam gives Miggy a ring that has a microchip in it for FF to wear. When Miggy comes in with the ring, Fabiola misunderstands for a second. Then he tells her it’s a transmitter.

Sam then goes to talk with Ángela. Angie tells her she has remembered all the bad things. Meanwhile JM tells Miggy he could tell by the expression on her face that Ángela will never forgive him.

Willy confronts Esteban about the Berlin trip. He says he doesn’t swallow it for a second that El Jefe has given up. Esteban manipulates him by saying he must be very insecure if he doesn’t trust Sam to travel without him.

Fabiola catches the bridal bouquet. They all begin to dance, but sadly none of the cast can waltz to save their lives! They don’t even look that good trying to salsa!

Angie calls Gus in tears. She tells him she’s feeling very badly; she got back her memory. She asks him to come for her.

El Jefe’s plan works. Willy tells Sam it’s OK that she goes to Berlin alone.

At the Luna Azul Dante asks D8D to help him get some “merca” to satisfy the big buyer Luis Martínez has found. D8D looks very skeptical, but Dante tells him it’s big bucks and an opportunity to ingratiate himself with the Colombian guys.

Miggy and Fabiola are about to have wedding cake and champagne when a couple of the wedding reception waiters grab FF and haul her out of there. [How many times is she going to be kidnapped?] JM and Miggy go after her, using the microchip in the ring.

Gus and Ángela talk in the kitchen of his house. She tells him even thinking of JM makes her angry. She tells him to give her time.

Emma and Pablo are about to board the plane for Barcelona when Emma wants to buy a few things. He wants to stay in line, but tells her how much he’ll always love her.

D8D comes to see the Reptile, who acts BSC until the nurse leaves them alone. Then she tells her papí she’s sick of all these crazy people and when is he getting her out? He tells her soon.

Willy has had a dream about not wanting Sam to go to Berlin. Sam rants and raves about their not being children and he should get over being jealous. Just then a bunch of models show up and parade into the house. Nico’s eyes bug out. Sam, of course, pitches a fit. Nico is ready to help his father interview the models when Jessica collars him!

Génesis and Violeta are talking about Emma and Pablo having a happy ending just like in a story. We see down the aisle of a plane. I think lightning strikes and then a huge ball of fire goes down the aisle.

One of the kidnappers isn’t finished yet. He points his gun. Fabiola sees this and covers Miggy with her body. She appears to be shot. She says she loves him and goes limp. He finally tells her he loves her.

CORAZÓN VALIENTE –

great recap novelera !!!

"the Reptile, who acts BSC"

hmm, google didn't know this term so I guessed,
and according to the urban dictionary...

"Old churches had a structure at the top called a belfry, which housed the bells. Bats are extremely sensitive to sound and would never inhabit a belfry of an active church where the bell was rung frequently. Occasionally, when a church was abandoned and many years passed without the bell being rung, bats would eventually come and inhabit the belfry. So, when somebody said that an individual had "bats in the belfry" it meant that there was "nothing going on upstairs" (as in that person's brain). To be BATSHIT CRAZY is to take this even a step further. A person who is batshit crazy is so nuts that not only is their belfry full of bats, but so many bats have been there for so long that the belfry is coated in batshit."
ref:http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=batshit%20crazy

ha!
that's our Reptile,

but I thought she was clever enough to get out of the psyche ward on her own,
without depending on her dad.

CORAZON VALIENTE:

Thanks, Novelera, excellent recap!

I was thinking Miggy and Fabiola were talking way too much of how much they desired each other, not acting on it fast enough. Of course, that maid interrupted pretty soon anyway. I sort of think Miggy should sit down Fabiola and explain exactly what his relationship is/was with Alejandra, Cecilia and Natalia. To FF, it just seems as if Miggy has an endless supply of beautiful women whom he's still seeing. Of course it's much funnier for her to think that!

I was hoping Clara would barge in on D8D while he was kissing Nora. No such luck yet.

I don't think JM should be so upset that Angela has now remembered all his weaknesses, and it's over between them. Yesterday, he already said it was over between them (for no reason). Now she at least has a reason.

I love the way Angela calls Gustavo "hoos" or "oos", never pronouncing the g at the start of his name. It's just my bias towards how things sound in English, but those are not really the most attractive sounding nicknames to me.

I'm hoping that Emma and Peralta never got on the plane which was hit by lighting, since she wanted some more items in the gift shop. If so, it would be "saved by shopping."

PABLO ESCOBAR

The army raid of Marcos Herber's party is under way. Kiko and Cain give themselves up immediately, telling the Major the boss is in the house.

We see Pablo rolling a cigarette. We later find out it's marijuana. Could this new habit weaken his heretofore sharp judgment?

Major Aristides has little trouble finding Marcos hiding inside of big duffel bag, and arrests him. In jail, Marcos is mad at Kiko and Cain. What kind of bodyguards are you? I thought you were tough. Sorry, boss, there were just too many of them.

Marcos offers a billion pesos to the Major. No dice. General Ulloa reports to President Delacruz, we got him! The President announces the capture at a press conference.

The non-Cano editor of the Espectador says Marcos, of all the cartel members, COULD be extradited, because (something like) the order for his capture predated the extradition treaty, and the President could just extradite him to the US outside of the treaty. We see Pablo telling the cartel members that this CAN'T happen. They're basically happy they were warned, though.

Marcos tells Aristides I'll be out of jail in a day. Think again, bud. We later see him on a plane, being guarded by Artistides, heading to another airfield. Marcos is still defiant.

The President's advisers say you can legally extradite him on your own. The President calls the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court for confirmation.

Pablo tells the cartel guys that Crisantos heard about the hit, and told Pedregal, who told Pablo. This is totally false, but the guys buy it.

Marcos tells Aristides I'll never be a sapo, you want me to turn on Pablo Escobar, but forget it. And I'll be out soon. You underestimate the power of the cartel. The major replies, you underestimate the power of the President of the Republic. We then see the President hesitate just a second, but then sign the order.

Marcos, wearing a bulletproof vest, is paraded before the press on a private airfield. He's then turned over to the DEA, as Niki gets a picture. He's loaded into a plane adorned with the US flag. Sorry, Marcos, your days of excess and indulgence with impunity have come to an end.

Pati wonders why Pablo isn't a bit upset about Marcos Herber's being extradited. Sure I am, babe, he says with a little smile on his face. She smells his hands, you've been smoking marijuana again. Look honey, let's make a little pact. I'll stay out of your business, you stay out of my business. He seems to be very mellow as he says this, not his usual intense self. Could Pablo Escobar be going soft?

I doubt it.

Novelera,

Thanks for the super detailed recap;
I missed the whole episode due to the time change; I just modified my DVR settings to accommodate something like this in the future.

Thanks, Deb, for the BSC reference
data.

I thought that JM had given as one of his reasons for breaking up with Angela that he had not completely stood by her when he should have done so. If so, they would both be in agreement that they separate.

CORAZÓN VALIENTE

Thanks for the kind words, guys.

Floridia, you probably know this, but in case you don't, you can watch any episode you might have missed on the Telemundo web site. That's come in handy for me several times when my DVR hiccuped or something.

Yes, JM nobly decided to not pursue Ángela any more. He'd decided to arrange joint custody of Juan Cruz, etc. But, when they couldn't resist and fell into bed together, I guess he assumed they were back together.

Thanks, Novelera,

I haven't watched on the website, but with recaps as good as yours and Jean's, I don't really see the need - unless something ultra exiting happened, I suppose.

PABLO ESCOBAR

Thanks, Hombre, for all your recaps! I caught up last evening. What a pleasure to see Herber get on that plane.

Where it ended on Friday, I don't think Pablo and the boys yet know about the extradition. I expect Pablo to be beside himself. He wanted Herber to be out of his hair but not to be the first domino to fall!

I read somewhere that Escobar was a heavy marijuana smoker. I wasn't sure they were going to bring that up. He's been presented as always sharp, one step ahead of everyone. The documentary I watched "The Two Escobars" had some footage of him, and he looked kind of heavy lidded and slow of speech!

EL ROSTRO DE LA VENGANZA

Is anyone watching this? Every episode I say I'm going to delete it from the DVR scheduling; but, like the proverbial train wreck, I keep watching.

It's one of those novelas in which EVERYONE except the two protagonists is either evil or beyond annoying.

Elizabeth Gutiérrez is doing a pretty good job in her role, but the chisme is that she's leaving the show to be replaced by Marlene Favela.

I doubt I'll make it past next week!

PABLO ESCOBAR - part 1 of 2

thanks so much Hombre !!!

interesting twist, Marcos Hérber being sent to the U.S. because of a loop hole,

I don't quite understand why Colombia is not prosecuting there own criminals,
is the system so corrupt and the Medellin cartel so strong, they have to do an end run,
with extradition the only answer?

on Marcos Hérber...
for those who are not following the real guys,
let me put together a little non spoiler history of him, interesting stuff, and why the U.S. was so interested in him.

the real guy is named Carlos Lehder,
early on, his family had a used car business,
for which he stole cars,

"While serving a sentence for car theft in federal prison in Danbury, Connecticut, Lehder decided that, upon his release, he would take advantage of the burgeoning market for cocaine in the United States and enlisted his bunkmate, former marijuana dealer George Jung, as a future partner. Jung had experience with flying marijuana to the US from Mexico in small aircraft, staying below radar level and landing on dry lake beds. Inspired by the idea, Lehder decided to apply the principle to cocaine transport and formed a partnership with Jung. While in prison, he set out to learn as much information as possible that could be useful to him in the cocaine business. Lehder would sometimes even spend hours questioning fellow inmates on money laundering and smuggling.

"After their releases (both were paroled), Lehder and Jung built up a small stream of money through simple, traditional drug smuggling - they enlisted two American girls to take a paid vacation to Antigua, receive cocaine, and carry it back with them to the US in their suitcases. Repeating this process several times, they soon had enough money for an airplane.

Using a small plane and a professional pilot, which were stolen not paid for, they began to fly cocaine into the United States via the Bahamas, increasing their financial resources and building connections and trust with Colombian suppliers while spreading money around among Bahamian government officials for political and judicial protection. Their unconventional method of drug-smuggling began to gain credibility."

"In the late 1970s, the Lehder-Jung partnership began to diverge, due to some combination of Lehder's megalomania, and Lehder's secret scheming to secure a personal Bahamian island as a complete all-purpose headquarters for his operations.

PABLO ESCOBAR - part 2 of 2

That island was Norman's Cay, which at that point consisted of a marina, a yacht club, approximately 100 private homes, and an air strip. In 1978, Lehder began buying up property and harassing and threatening the island's residents. At one point, a yacht was found drifting off the coast with the corpse of one of its owners aboard. He is estimated to have spent $4.5 million on the island in total.

As Lehder chased away the local population and began to assume total control of the island, Norman's Cay became Lehder's lawless private fiefdom.

From 1978 through 1982, the Cay was the Caribbean's main drug smuggling hub and a tropical hideaway and playground for Lehder and associates. Cocaine was flown in from Colombia by jet and then reloaded into the small aircraft that then distributed it to locations in Georgia, Florida, and the Carolinas. Lehder was believed to receive 1 kilo on every 4 that was transported through Norman's Cay.

Lehder built a 3,300-foot (1,000 m) runway protected by radar, bodyguards and Doberman attack dogs for the fleet of aircraft under his command. In the glory days of his operation, 300 kilograms of cocaine would arrive on the island every day, and Lehder's personal wealth mounted into the millions. Indeed, he made so much wealth that on two occasions he offered to pay the Colombian External debt. In 1978 he made an offer to do so to President Alfonso López Michelsen, in exchange for a free space for drug trafficking and in 1982 through Pablo Escobar, by then a Congressman, he did so again, this time in an attempt to prevent his extradition."

"In 1982, after a CBS report by Brian Ross on U.S. television made public the corruption of Bahamian government leaders, Lehder could not return to Norman's Cay. The government had frozen all his bank accounts and taken over his property and possessions. He went from a billionaire to being nearly bankrupt. While he was on the run in the jungle, he got sick with a fever. Pablo Escobar sent a helicopter for him and brought him back to Medellín where he received medical attention to save his life. Even so, he was left very weak. When he recovered, Pablo gave him work to do. He was hired as a trusted bodyguard, although he was given the respect he had earned. Eventually, Lehder wanted to rebuild his fortune, but he was captured at a farm he had just established in Colombia when a new employee of his informed the police of his location."

and this is where our novela story is today,

this is all from his wiki page, (which may or may not be true),
and kind of explains why he was just hanging out,
yet one of the cartel members.

Corazon Valiente
Novelera, thanks so much for the recap. This is a real double cliff hanger for Monday. I am very curious to see how Rodrigo reacts to the news of Fabiola's injury; I think he is starting to like her for real. Also, it was interesting to watch Angela getting her memory back during the wedding, as JM sat a few pews away and gave her sappy smiles. Surely he should have been expecting a reaction like this when she got her memory back!

PABLO ESCOBAR -- viernes

Thanks, Hombre. Great job. I also enjoyed Novelera's and Deb's comments.

My favorite line of the night: The major whispers in Herber's ear just before the latter is led into the plane that will take him to the US: "They sold you out!" (Lo vendieron.)

EL ROSTRO DE LA VENGANZA

Novelera, I admit I'm still watching this silly thing. What can I say? If it weren't for the Pablo Escobar lead-in, I probably wouldn't seek out the show. But I do like the cast (and I think Saúl Lisazo is my new telenovio.)

The current issue of People en Español confirms that Elizabeth Gutierrez is leaving.

PABLO ESCOBAR:

Novelera, I guess Pati asked Pablo if he was upset that Marcos was CAUGHT, not extradited. But they're definitely introducing the marijuana story line. Thanks for the background.

Deb, great info on the real Marcos.

Due to football (I'm going to the Ravens game tonight), I'll probably have a double recap Wednesday morning, but nothing tomorrow.

CORAZON VALIENTE-
Thanks for the great recap, Novelera. Sorry that I am a little late to the party.

So, I guess that I am correct in assuming that FF and Miggy did not actually do the deed, as they say, before they were interrupted by events. Too bad. This has been dragging out too long.

I sure hope that this plane crash thing turns out to be a tease. I was slightly concerned when Peralta and Emma started talking about how they were going to spend the rest of their lives together, etc. That is usually a presage of disaster. Since there is no conflict between Emma and FF, Emma's character doesn't seem to have much point in the story. It would be horrible for Violeta and Genesis if another adult in their lives died.

CORAZÓN VALIENTE

Jean, it appears to me that about 75% of their cliffhanger endings to episodes are red herrings. Someone looks like they're about to tell someone else a crucial truth [like the accomplice doctor we were led to believe had come to tell Sam and Willy about Clara] and they do something else. Or the mummy being shot full of holes on the boat turns out NOT to be D8D.

So I'm leaning toward Emma having talked Pablo into letting her buy some lipstick and they missed the plane.

CORAZON VALIENTE:

¡Ojalá!

EL ROSTRO DE LA VENGANZA

I wait til a week is over, then watch it On Demand. usually fast forward a lot except when Chocarro/Gutierrez/Lisazo are on. I like Islas, but not as an antagonist. I really am curious as to why EG is leaving the show.

Perhaps when it switches to 1hour it'll be better?? quien saben.

CORAZON VALIENTE:

Great recap novelera. I just watched the episode. I thought the scene between Angela and JM was some of the best acting Adriana F. has done in this tn. She usually comes off as flat and unbelievable, but I really bought her anger and hurt in that scene.

CORAZÓN VALIENTE – LUNES – Part 1

Miggy tells Fabiola, who’s just been shot, how much he loves her. She tells him she won’t ever leave him alone, then passes out.

The Reptile appears to know about El Verdugo and tells D8D she wants to meet him. He says it wasn’t the right time before, but maybe now it is. She admires El Verdugo's power and impunity in the face of crime; she says they might be a good pair.

Sam is beside herself with jealousy about Willy having taken the models upstairs, but she doesn’t want him to know it. Nora tells her the two of them need to learn to trust one another.

In Colombia the ponytailed bad guy known as Dingo tells Alex that they failed again with Fabiola. Only one of the guys that kidnapped her survived. Dingo told him he’d kill him if he talked.

Miggy cries in the ambulance. He tells Fabiola the bullet was for him, and why did she do it? He wants to be with her always. After the ambulance gets to the hospital, Miggy treats us to one of those stereotypical TN scenes. He shouts at the doctors and nurses to save her. [One of these days, I’d like one of the hospital personnel to turn around and say: “No, we’ll let her die!”] Miggy tells Gus that he failed Fabiola.

Camilo pushes Dante on moving forward with the drug deal. Camilo hears the shocking news that Emma and Pablo were on a flight that blew up while he’s at Luna Azul.

The next scene is Emma, shaken, telling Pablo they survived because they were in the store. Pablo says he’ll never interfere with her shopping again!

At Casa Arroyo, Génesis and Violeta are sobbing about losing Emma. JM gets a call from Emma. The kids dance with joy. JM tells them Emma and Pablo are going to stay at the airport and try to catch a flight to Madrid. [Hmmm. Not so sure I’d fly anywhere after that!]

Willy comes to see Sam at her agency, bringing her a chocolate bar. She accuses him of trying to fatten her up before the Berlin trip! Sam and Camilo speak on the phone; he says the drug deal is going down tonight. Sam tells Willy they’re trying to catch a big fish. Willy: “My father?” Sam explains the drug deal to Willy. He says he knew that his father was up to no good, especially when he found out about his having Sam kidnapped as a child, but he never thought he was involved with drug trafficking.

Miggy comes into the waiting room and says that the doc says Fabiola only has a 5% chance to live. He begs her to fight. He tells her she got into his heart. Flatline….Defibrillators.

D8D tells Rodrigo that El Verdugo lost communication with his guys. Rod: “They took her?” D8D: “But something went wrong. Go and find out.”

Dante comes to see D8D. D8D tells Dante that El Verdugo has the merca for Martinez.

JM and Ángela go to the hospital. JM tells Miggy not to feel guilty. No one could have done more to protect Fabiola. Miggy swears he’ll find them and make them pay.

Dante describes the plan again to D8D. He says that Luis will come with a van. And they will await him with the exact same van. Drugs exchanged for money. El Verdugo will send one of his guys and if he sees anything suspicious they’ll below Luis’ brains out.

CORAZÓN VALIENTE – LUNES – Part 2

Génesis and Violeta tell Rod what they know, that Fabiola may not survive. They suggest Rod kiss her to wake her up like a princess in a fairy tale. Rod looks very troubled.

Gus and Dummy Duval arrive at the hospital and say that JM killed a narco and is thus in danger. He needs to come along to the police station to tell his version of events. Laura Aguilar is again assigned to guard him.

D8D thanks Clara for giving him a reason to live again and then kisses her. [So much for the marriage of convenience.] Then he comes up with one of his poor me faces and apologizes. He says he won’t try it again. Riiiight!

Dingo calls D8D and tells him that one of the guys sent after Fabiola died and, here’s the worst, Fabiola herself may die. She tried to give her life to save Miguel Valdez!

The doctor comes out to the waiting room and says the usual: el estado es delicado. JM goes into to see Fabiola and tells her he’s her big brother and he wants to care for her. Eyes closed, she asks for Miguel. Rod shows up at the hospital. Miggy tells him to get lost. Rod says that he’s a useless bodyguard and gets punched out by Miggy. JM says that only Miggy can go in to see her because she is asking for him. Rod tells JM he should get another bodyguard, but JM says Miggy is the best there is.

Camilo shows up at the meeting place in a black van. He speaks briefly with Sam and Gus by phone. The driver of an identical van shows him a whole load of cocaine and invites him to taste it. Camilo does so, but makes a face with his back turned to the thugs. He gives the guys the money. Miggy pulls out of an alley in a pickup and follows the thugs.

It turns out that instead of cocaine, Camilo bought Colombian coffee. Sam says they ripped them off. Camilo is VERY upset saying it’s his fault for being nothing more than a gardener. Gus says he’ll probably lose his job; he got millions of dollars for the drug deal.

D8D talks to Dingo. He says they only have to wait for Fabiola to recover and speak. They laugh about selling Luis Martínez coffee. Later D8D hugs Clara, pats her stomach, and calls the baby Bernardita.

Miggy goes into the guys’ lair furious. He shoots one. He asks who was sent to kill him. One of the guys says “You aren’t going to kill me, and you’ll regret having come here. You don’t know who you’re messing with!” Miggy shoots him in the leg. Miggy recognizes one of the guys as the fake waiter and shoots him. One of the guys says he ought to be grateful if Fabiola died because, if not, she’d be in a whorehouse serving 20 guys per night. When one of the guys makes a move, Miggy shoots him as well on his way out. [But what about the millions of dollars, I’m thinking?]

Ángela tells Nora that Violeta misses JM and Génesis. When Nora asks if maybe she doesn’t miss JM as well, she says she feels a burning hatred. Nora says that maybe what she feels for JM is love/hate, but for Gus true love.

Willy has some candles and fresh fruit waiting in their bedroom when Sam arrives. Passionate kisses.

Ángela comes to see Gus. She asks him if he wants her to sleep with him that night. He doesn’t say a word and only kisses her, but I think his mind is saying: “Hell, yes!”

CORAZON VALIENTE-

Thanks for another of your great recaps, Novelera.

I'm glad the plane explosion was a teaser. I don't think I would have gotten right back on a plane, either.

I don't understand the drug deal at all. The police didn't arrest anybody at the exchange? I wasn't paying close attention but were any of the big shots there? The only person Camilo dealt with was Dante.

Apparently, if the deal had gone as planned, the police would have had a lot of cocaine and no money. What were they going to do with the cocaine, sell it? How were they planning to get the money back?

And yes, if Miggy followed the bad guys from the drug deal, why was he only concerned with avenging the attempted kidnapping/shooting of FF? He shot at least two of the guys in cold blood.

Tighten your beanies, folks.

EL ROSTRO DE LA VENGANZA
Dear Novelera
I have seen 2 episodes and may go on , about leaving Elizabeth Guttierz , I must say , I have read in some spanish sites (which might be rumors) but it is told that Elizabeth's partner(William Levy)seems very sensitive of being Elizabeth in this Project(especially beacause of some sexual scenes) , he even came to the locations several times and he became very jealous of David Chocarro.

Corazon Valiente
great recap novelera! Thank you so much
I like the new tensions of the Novela wow! Interesting changes coming!which make Miguel's Character more active and interesting even than before

CORAZON VALIENTE:

Fabulous recap Novelera.

Jean- I ditto everything in your comment. All the same questions I had, including, did Miggy just leave the money there after shooting the guys? Makes no sense.

I was glad to see Angie getting it on with Gus at the end. I hope they do the deed. I'm sorry, but I also wouldn't be so forgiving of JM turning around and having sex with the Reptile, bringing her into our home and bed(!) and then marrying her and allowing her to mother my baby, while I was in prison. Plus, aside from Esteban el Estalker, Gus is the only guy in this tn who hasn't had sex, and he deserves it. LOL!

EL ROSTRO DE LA VENGANZA

Pari Panahi - thanks for that tidbit. I thought that's what I understood, but was not sure. It doesn't seem likely though that WL would be jealous. but what do I know?

CORAZÓN VALIENTE

Thanks for the excellent recap

I think Miguel doesn't want to let the police know about what he is doing. Loved his vengeful expression when killing the thugs! Great acting.

I like Gus!

What was the use of that plane explosion at all?!

El Secretario - Sept. 11, 2012 - 1 1/2 hour long episode (pt.1):

At the office, Paola succeeds in making Felix jealous of Antonia and Emilio's friendship, but she fails to 'get in his pants'.

Yancy and the finance department convince Emilio to let them take him for a farewell lunch and drinks. They enter an expensive restaurant; Emilio isn't sure they should be there, that they can afford it. The finance department and Yancy convince him that they come there all the time and have always paid their bills in full. Day turns into night; the finance department get drunker and drunker. The finance department personnel excuse themselves to go to the restroom, then Yancy uses the same excuse. The foursome leave the restaurant - and celebrate in stiffing the bill and leaving poor Emilio to pay it. Emilio doesn't realize what they did until the waiter brings over the bill and demands Emilio pay it. The manager half-believes him and forces him to work kitchen clean-up duty for the rest of the night to pay the bill -- Emilio walks out to the restaurant, now closed for the night, and thinks he has paid the bill in full. The manager tells Emilio that he has to return tomorrow night to do it again to pay the rest of the bill off.

Meanwhile, Valentina is still wandering around the sidewalks holding her bear. Rudolfo the taxi driver sees the little girl and stops and convinces her to get in his taxi, he will help her find her father. They drive block after block, but the little girl doesn't recognize the buildings or stores. Eventually, they drive along the busy street and she sees a semi with the logo "Copito" with the bulldog on it. She perks up and shouts! Rudolfo looks at the sign. Valentina tells him her father works for the company. Rudolfo happily drives her to the company's headquarters.

Antonia leaves Felix and Mario talking and having drinks in Felix's office. She's confused by Felix's cool attitude towards her, but doesn't push for an explanation.

She walks through the floor, passed the secretary's desks as Rudolfo walks Valentina off the elevator. Rudolfo leaves Valentina with Antonia and departs. Valentina tells Antonia that she ran away from home because her mom was mean and won't let her see her dad. Antonia says her dad's last day of work at the company was today. She also tells the little girl that her mommy is probably worried and frantic trying to find her.

El Secretario - Sept. 11, 2012 - (pt. 2)

In his office, Felix calls his inept gang and is angry that they tried twice to abduct Emilio and failed miserably both times.

Yancy is waiting outside Mario's apartment building. Mario acts like a dog salivating over a bone and follows Yancy into his apartment. She walks -- he is on all fours like a dog. In the apartment, he tries to kiss her and make out with her, she plays hard to get.

Emilio finally returns to his apartment and finds Frank waiting inside. They sit on his mattress and talk. Felix's gang, wearing stocking caps over their heads, burst through the door and surprise both Frank and Emilio. A fight erupts. Dona Gert hears all the loud noises and runs across the hall. She enters and starts banging all the men over the head with her metal bowl. The gang leave in a hurry - to get away from her. She turns and sees Emilio on the floor, bleeding.

Lorena and the police officers finally arrive at Emilio's apartment building. They hurry inside and find Frank and Emilio. Frank has to explain to the police and Lorena that Valentina isn't there. The gang escape without being seen by the police. The police, Lorena and Frank take Emilio to the hospital.

The gangmembers sit in their car and grumble how their plan failed again. Felix calls them for an update. The chief of the gang has to tell him the bad news -- they failed again and explains what happened - that the police showed up and that when they left, Emilio was laying on the floor, bleeding. Felix is shocked and angry -- he warns them that Emilio could tell the police everything that happened, that it could get back to them and ultimately to Felix - Felix has more to lose in this than they do.

El Secretario - Sept. 11, 2012 - (pt. 3)

Yancy is drunk and has permitted Mario to kiss and start to make love to her. They are interrupted by the phone ring. Felix ordered Mario to stop whatever it is he is doing and come back to the office immediately - it is very urgent. Mario can't get out of it and has to apologize over and over again to Yancy before he leaves.

Antonia and Valentina arrive at Emilio's apartment building. They find Dona Gert in her apartment. They ask where Emilio is, and Dona Gert became animated and explained about the fight, the police and that they took Emilio to the hospital.

At the hospital waiting room, Lorena and Frank argue over where and how to search for Valentina. Frank is also concerned about Emilio. He leaves Lorena in the waiting room and follows the nurse to Emilio's exam room.

Antonia is stunned and asks Dona Gert for more details about the gang. Dona Gert gets animated again as she describes the fight. Antonia and Valentina start to leave - Dona Gert goes with them to the hospital.

At the office, Felix informs Mario that his gang almost were caught by the police. Mario says they are inept and wonders why they should worry. Felix explains if Emilio is seriously wounded and bloody, there could be an investigation. Mario thinks about his fight earlier with Emilio and starts to panic. Felix slaps his brother to calm him down.

The gang returns to their hideout to regroup.

The police talk with Lorena - update her with the search for Valentina. If she isn't with Emilio, then where else could she have gone, maybe to his workplace?

El Secretario - Sept. 11, 2012 - (pt. 4)

In the car, Antonia's cell phone rings. Dona Gert answers it. It is Paola calling to talk with Antonia.

The gang discuss a new plan and take off.

Felix and Mario discuss Emilio's wounds; Felix realizes he probably is now at the hospital. Mario leaves for his office.

At the hospital, Valentina runs to her mommy. Antonia and Dona Gert enter the waiting room. Antonia asks the police officer about Emilio.

Paola is driving in her car towards the hospital. She calls Felix to tell him that she has to cancel whatever plans they had for tonight. Emilio is at the hospital and she is on her way there now.

Felix starts to annoy his brother again - this time, Mario pulls Felix onto the elevator. They leave for the hospital.

Lorena starts to yell and scold Valentina for running away. Antonia steps in and defends Valentina. Lorena calms down and sees her point. Lorena, Antonia and Dona Gert have to properly introduce themselves and cover for Emilio's little lie about Antonia being his girlfriend. Just then, Paola shows up to talk with Antonia.

Mario gets Felix into his car and Felix drives away. Mario returns to the office building.

In the exam room, Frank tells Emilio that Valentina ran away from home and they don't know where she is. Emilio is worried. Frank pushes his chair out of the room - despite the nurses' objections. In the lobby, they are very happy and relieved to see little Valentina in the waiting area. Valentina gives both of her dads hugs. Dona Gert tells Emilio that the ladies have all introduced themselves - no problems.

Emilio talks with his daughter. Valentina says she ran away because her mommy won't let her see him anymore. Lorena sputters her explanation. Felix and Mario arrive - to the surprise of everyone there. Felix and Mario have to sputter an explanation. Felix recognizes Frank, just as Frank takes Valentina and Lorena home. Paola explains to Felix who everyone is and why they are there. Felix and Mario insist on paying the hospital bill -- they have a responsibility to take care of their company's employees and ex-employees.

As Felix and Mario wait for the bill, they talk. They are stunned by the high cost of the emergency room stay. Mario swallows hard and pays the bill.

Felix and Mario return to the group. Felix insists that Emilio stays at his apartment/condo while he recuperates. The group leaves.

CORAZÓN VALIENTE

Yeah, the drug deal thing was very, very confusing. I thought they meant to have a successful drug deal that would convince the big boys to get involved more and thus catch them. But, indeed, why would the cops give millions of dollars and have supposed cocaine in their possession just to set up another buy? I think I'd not be too happy if I were a taxpayer in LA!

Assuming Angie really does the deed with Gus in tonight's episode, that would seem like a first to me. A female protagonist who willingly has sex with two different nice guys in a week's time!

How the heck can D8D tell the Reptile he's going to get her out of a nuthouse for the criminally insane and very soon?

Corazon Valiente

Anyone have an idea of when is this going to be over? I need a break! LOL!

The Angie/Gus/JM thing is getting on my nerves. I wanted to jump into my TV and yell at Angie and Nora yesterday. Comparing their love/hate relationships? Let's see........ Angela married a really nice guy who was willing to do it all for her! Even defending her on charges of killing his family (and despite her ex husband also being involved in the killings). He almost got her acquitted but she louses that up by pleading guilty (yes, her daughter was threatened but why didn't she tell him that?) Despite his being hurt, he lets her keep her baby in jail with her. Even afterwards, he brought the baby back to her. Then she finally confesses that she did it for her daughter. I admit that he was stupid that day not to listen to her but he was already to0 angry and hurt (Perhaps, he was having the same "love/hate" thing she is having now); in my opinion with better reason). He also didn't know that Fernanda was the murderer when he was involved with her. He just knew that with his world crumpling around him; here was a woman who loved him unconditionally with no baggage (or so he thought). So now she is jumping into bed with another guy? If she becomes pregnant and doesn't know who the father is then she is truly an idiot. The sex with JM wasn't planned but this one is!

Then we have Nora......What a husband! He neglects her. When she had an affair, instead of divorcing her, he framed her for murder and put her in jail for 25 years! Tells her children that she is dead and turns her Daughter into a serial killer (I blame D8D for that; not JM). She has reason to hate not "love/hate"!

Love Willy but I am tired of the Sam jealousy thing. Bored with Fabiola/Miggy romance. Can someone kill the reptile and her dad already!
I am going to miss Emma; even though she too annoyed me sometimes. She seems to be the only one who defends her brother.

PABLO ESCOBAR, Lunes

Pablo, Gonzo, Fabio and Peluche now know about the extradition of Marcos Herber. Pablo tells him the government has no respect for the law. Hah!

Fernando tells brother Juan he's not happy. It won't bring back Dad. Juan says at least they can't walk the street of Medellin without consequences.

Fabio and Peluche think it was strange that Marcos got caught. There must be a sapo in their midst. Nah, lies Pablo, it was probably just some do gooder citizen who tipped off the government. Don't get paranoid (we see his fingers shaking, just a teeny bit, despite his outer calm).

Crisantos, Kiko and Cain are all in jail together. Cris tells the others, if they happen to talk to the boss, tell him I'm keeping my lips zipped. He asks what they were caught with. Large amounts of coke. Well, boys, you're looking at 5 years minimum. Ayy! They thought more like 6 months!

Pati: Pablo, promise me YOU won't get extradited. I promise. Before they take me, I'll shoot myself in the head.

Marcos arrives in Florida. In his cell, now clean shaven, he thinks back to the weird behavior of Kiko and Cain. He also remembers how Major Aristides said “you were sold out”. He thinks yes, maybe I was betrayed. At this point, an investigator comes into his cell. You ready to talk about Pablo Escobar now?

Non Cano Editor of the Espectador to the President: You extradited Herber since you said he was a special case. Are you going to do the same with other cartel members?

In the jail work yard, Cain reads the Bible to the gathered inmates, while Kiko passes the hat for contributions. Cain tells how the Bible says, “salvation will come from heaven” (the word for heaven and the sky is the same in Spanish – cielo). Just then, a helicopter flies over the prison yard, and Chili and Topo start shooting machine guns down. Everyone scatters. A long rope ladder is dropped, Chili waves to Kiko and Cain, they grab the ladder, and are whisked away, out of jail!!!

Major Aristides gets a medal for his work. The President announces we WILL extradite without a treaty. Soon, all the heads of the drug families will be in jails in the U.S.

Colonel Pedregal calls Pablo, you've got about 30 minutes before I'm at your place with 50 men. It's not my fault, but you'd better move. Pablo calmly gets everyone organized, and the place bustles with activity, as Pablo himself calmly picks up a painting, puts new batteries in his radio, etc. Ulloa calls Pedrgal, furious. What's taking so long!? Pedregal says, uh, sorry boss, we're on it. I just came back to my office to take your call. Sure, we'll get him. Yeah, I'm going get started right away. He stalls and stalls (I hope this guy gets caught). We all know by the time Pedregal gets to Pablo's house, the King will have left the building!

PABLO ESCOBAR

Thanks, Hombre, excellent recap.

Escobar's hypocrisy is unbelievable, his panties all in a bunch about the illegal activities of the Colombian government!

The surviving members of the Medellín cartel, including Pablo Escobar, all agreed that whoever gets extradited to the US will very quickly start ratting out the rest of them.

I agree about Pedregal. This crooked army officer should be court martialed, and fast! I thought Ulloa was going to have a stroke he was so angry at the delay in sending the troops to Pablos's casa. It was unbelievable he was actually taking some paintings along!

Yeah, that non-Cano journalist seemed unclear on the concept to me. He seemed to be pushing the president about extradition being illegal, the exact oppposite of what Guillermo Cano was editorializing about in El Espectador.

I wonder if that helicopter prison escape has any basis in reality.

CORAZÓN VALIENTE- martes – Part 1

Miggy tells the unconscious FF that she will be ok. He gushes about wonderful she is. When JM comes into the hospital room, he tells JM that he is in love with FF.

Angie and Gus are kissing and starting to undress when the phone rings. It’s Duval. The bodies of the narcos have been found and Gus has to go to the scene. So there’s not going to be any lovin’ tonight.

Nic pretends to have a kidney problem. Jessie says that she will call her family’s doctor.

Miggy tells unconscious FF that the narcos won’t harm anyone else.

The police decide that the murders of the narcos was a settling of scores. Duval passes along the message that Gus that he needs to get the drug buy money back or his head will roll.

Because of the death of the narcos, the police believe JM, Miggy and FF are in danger. Laura is assigned to protect JM again.

Angie tells Nora that she needs to get JM out of her head and her body.

An obviously false doctor comes to see Nic. Since when do doctors wear nurse’s uniforms with super short skirts and their boobs falling out of the front? I’m surprised she didn’t have one of those reflector things on her head that come with cheap doctor costumes. Because this ridiculous storyline requires that Esteban reveal the deceit, Sam has to take a stupid pill and accept this doctor and not do what she would have done if Nic really were ill – take him to the hospital. It becomes clear that this whole thing is a plot of Willy, Jessica and Nic to keep Sam from going to Berlin with Esteban.

D8D reports to Dante and Victor that the narco guys are dead but the money was left. For this reason he doesn’t believe that the narcos were killed by the police. D8D swears that whoever killed the narco guys has signed his own death warrant.

Miggy urges the still unconscious FF to wake up. He imagines their happy life together, which included a product placement for Dish Latino.

The false doc gives Willy a kiss on her way out and Sam catches them. Willy gives some bogus explanation and Sam buys it.

Miggy tells Gus and Camilo that he killed the narcos and Gus is apparently ok with the fact that Miggy killed four people and left the scene without calling the police. Miggy has a plan to get the police’s money back but he needs some killers.

JM runs into Angie when he drops Génesis off at school. She is cold to him.

Sam spends the night with Nic and says that she will miss the trip to Berlin to take care of him.

Camilo goes to see Dante and Victor and pretends to be p*ssed off that he was ripped off. He demands to know the name of Dante’s intermediary with Verdugo.

CORAZÓN VALIENTE- martes – Part 2

D8D tells the Reptile that he has bribed a nurse who will set her free.

Rodrigo has been hanging around the hospital. He is about to try kissing FF to see if a kiss from her Prince Charming will wake her up when Miggy comes in.

FF does wake up for Miggy and he tells her that he loves her. Her recovery is a miracle.

Camilo threatens Dante who reveals that the intermediary to the Colombian drug dealers is D8D.

El Jefe stops by on the way to the airport and reveals Willy, Nic and Jessie’s plan to keep Sam from going to Berlin. Sam is very angry at Willy and decides to go to Berlin anyway. Willy wants to go with her but Sam says that there isn’t enough time.

Angie comes to see the Reptile in the nuthouse. Now that she has regained her memory, she wants to confront the Reptile about all her crimes. She also says that she doesn’t believe the Reptile is crazy. The Reptile does not express any remorse for her crimes, says that she will never allow Angie to be happy and then attacks her with the help of the other inmates.

Angie staggers into the hospital and tells JM that the Reptile attacked her. Miggy calls curses down upon D8D and his whole family, which would include Rodrigo, so he insists that Rodrigo leave FF’s hospital room.

Camilo, accompanied by a couple of tough-looking guys in hoodies, shows up at D8D’s. He says that he was cheated and demands his money back. Clara is a witness to this. D8D finally gets Clara to leave. D8D agrees to help Camilo get the money back, makes a call to Colombia and confirms to Verdugo’s henchman, Ringo or Dingo or whatever his name is, that this is really Luis and not Camilo. The henchman says that he already has the money and he promises to give Camilo 450 kilos of dope instead of the 400 kilos they had originally made the deal for. He also wants the coffee back! Camilo accepts this offer. The henchman tells the still unseen, cigar-smoking Verdugo that he will find out who killed their guys. Meanwhile, D8D demands to know how Camilo found him. Camilo refuses to say and D8D says that he will find out.

Nora and Nic urge Willy to go to Berlin after Sam.

Laura tells JM that she is starting to feel something for him.

Gus tells FF that she needs more than a bodyguard. She is being moved to a safe house with a special police protection unit and without Miggy. Miggy does not agree to this. He is no longer FF’s bodyguard. He is her novio.

CORAZÓN VALIENTE -

great recap Jean !!!

Sammi and Willy still are always fun to watch,
even though the story lines are sometimes silly,
wish the Jefe wasn't always walking into the middle of their scenes though,
I was hoping Willy would take Nico and Jessica, maybe Nora, with him to Berlin,
he's got the money, great excuse, and it would be a good experience for them.
no fear of flying in this novela.

Angela walking unescorted into the psyche ward,
to see a serial killer, duh!
maybe they should have kept her,
looks like the old prison, with a brighter colors.

funny watching her then stagger into the hospital,
was she there to get looked at, or just out for a stroll,
loved the scene where JM and Laura are having a romantic moment,
and they look up and Gus and Angela are having one too,
and all four look at each other,
with their different slants on things

wasn't that Victor that spilled the beans on D8D,
I'm thinking he will get bumped off by the bad guys,
for the stories sake.
he is kind of an odd character,
since we found out he is a bad guy,
have we seen him together with Jessica.

so what are Camilo's chances with Clara now?

PABLO ESCOBAR, Martes

I’m not sure I got all the details right, so corrections are welcome.

Pablo and family get into their caravan of a Mercedes, then several SUV’s. They’re heading away from the ranch, just as the army guys are heading TOWARDS it. Pedregal even sees their cars, but nobody else does, and once again, Pablo has escaped. The only thing is, they can’t go back to their luxurious digs for now.

We next see them in either some other house, or some kind of resort, with restaurants, games, etc. Emilio is playing the original Nintendo (what graphics!). Pati is talking with the wives of the other narcos. These other wives are totally clueless. They’ve barely heard of Marcos Herber, and have no idea at ALL what their husbands do (unlike Pati).

The boys meet. We’re going to have to keep a low profile now. Pablo says we really can’t even meet much anymore. And here’s a new thing. Each person must contribute $500,000 to a fund, which will go (I think) to bribes of officials. This is no problem for Pedro Montoa and Mariachi, but some of the “poorer” narcos aren’t happy. Also, everybody has to change houses and cars. And there’s a meeting with the Cali cartel coming up.

We see Pablo’s new house, a white, modern high rise. Enelia and Pati appraise it, aren’t too upset, and they have a moment of solidarity. She basically tells Pati “don’t cry over spilt milk” and “stand by your man”.

Pablo meets with Hilardo, the head of the Cali cartel. Hilardo says, two of your guys have screwed us over, and you’re going to have to give them up to us. They’re Hernan Valenza and Pablo Correro (these were the poor guys at the meeting). Well, says Pablo, if I’m going to give them up, you’ll have to pay me. Okay, I’ll give you $500,000 each, says Hilardo. Make it a million each, counters Pablo. Deal.

We see a cockfight. Okaaay.

Pablo has Hernan and Pablo taken prisoner and tied up. Pablo tells them they cheated the Cali cartel. We first see Correa, who’s begging for his life. How much do you want to let me go? $10 million, says Pablo. Gulp!

CORAZON VALIENTE:

Great recap, Jean! I also liked the Dish Latino in Miggy's future.

Deb, you're right, Victor spilled the beans, so he may be the next victim.

I thought the mental hospital scene was very funny. I used to work in one years ago, and the patients were far more sedated than here. I like how the Reptile has taken up her old prison role and Big Bad Mama again. Surprised that Angie couldn't defend herself, but it made us feel more sorry for her.

Yes, that doctor outfit to help Nic was not exactly standard issue, but I'm not complaining.

Miggy, Gustavo and JM have killed about 10 guys in the last few weeks. Yes, they were all thugs, but normally, there might be an investigation into this. But never fear! We have Duval as the main police investigator, so the chances of our good guys getting in trouble are zero!

CORAZÓN VALIENTE:

Thanks for the recap!!!

Yeah, Sam and Willy are fun to watch although both can be very childish. I’m starting to find Sam’s stupidity and ridiculous reactions more amusing, although it’s a little frustrating how oblivious she continues to be when it comes to El Jefe ( or Esteban el Estalker. ;) )or just doesn't care and when she in between her freak outs is almost as mad at Willy’s jealousy as she is at him when she herself is jealous. NOT a fan of domestic violence (and repeated death threats) though. It’s not okay, because she’s a woman or because of whatever reason it is supposed to be justified. She needs to be in therapy.
Of course Willy is off to Berlin. (I liked the random German. ;) ) I agree with Deb. It would be more fun if he took the kids as well. Who cares about school? And it’s not like Victor cares about what Jessie is doing anyway.
(Btw. Deb, we have seen Victor with Jessie before. It was when he was first introduced after Jessie was kidnapped.) Oh, and I also agree that Victor will be toast. (Then Jessie can move into the del Castillo house. :) )

Clara obviously still suspects nothing. She probably wasn’t able to catch any talk about the drugs or D8D threatening “Luis”. (What’s wrong with eavesdropping?)

I want to skip the Miggy and Fabiola scenes. I really don’t like them together.

I want Gus and Laura back together and hate that they're just plot devices in JM and Angie's romance.

Miggy suspecting/dissing Rodrigo because of his family is silly and prejudiced. Willy and Nico are part of that family. (Nico is Miggy’s own nephew for goodness sake.)

He gets no pass from me for murder either even if he does on the show.

Btw. I’m glad that Emma and Pablo are okay probably having a great honeymoon. :)

CORAZÓN VALIENTE

Thanks, Jean, terrific recap.

I actually liked Willy's plot to keep Sam at home. It was fun slapstick and even Sam, at the end, kissed Willy and seemed to forgive him for the plot. It also demonstrated how far Nico and Willy have come in their relationship since he was so willing to play along. I also laughed out loud when Willy said the fake doctor had bad breath.

Hombre, you're so right. With Duval in charge, Miggy and Gus definitely will get a pass. Plus, Duval the dim bulb is lucky he has Gus, Miggy, and Camilo helping him out because I'm pretty sure his solved crime rate is in single digits on his own [and those solved ones are probably suspects caught red-handed who confess immediately].

Come on. I was disgusted that Ángela let the Reptile beat the crap out of her. Makes no sense after seeing her [as Milagros] taken on a bunch of robbers in a grocery store!

Corazon Valiente:

Haven't been on the board for a while. And have been fast forwarding the show a lot lately. How many times do we have to see Fabiola kidnapped?

Just wanted to comment that the Bernardo/Clara thing reminds me of Lex Luther and Parker Posey in the last superman movie.

Thanks Jean for the Recap, it was great
I really like the dreamy future scenes of Miguel and Fabiola, really strange great chemistry they have and all those scenes (dancing ,etc) were lovely and sweet to me
before coming of Brenda Asnicar(Fabiola) , I had fear , but now I am glad and so relax that they really make very watchable scenes together ,

I just can't forgive! the director(producer , writer! everyone!)who put the ad for Dish Latino!!! in between the so beautiful and the most romantic scenes of this Episode ( Miggy's future) , it wasn't a good place for this ad!!!

Jean--great, great recap! Thank you.
Pari--yes, I thought the Dish Latino ad was very awkward, and it really broke the mood of a lovely sequence. Also, Fabian Rios (Willy) handles the comedic touches with great skill. Too bad he hasn't had any man-to-man scenes with Arturo lately--those are priceless.

CORAZÓN VALIENTE miércoles Part 1

Miggy tells FF that if she wants him, he will always be at her side.

After the Camilo/Luis incident, Clara is upset. D8D blames it on associates of the Reptile that he can’t get rid of. Clara asks why he doesn’t call the police. She says that she is afraid something will happen to D8D. [We wish.]

Rodrigo comes in and tells D8D that not only is FF in love with Miggy, Miggy is in love with her. He confesses to D8D that he has feelings for FF.

Willy is spying on Sam and Esteban El Estalker (EEE) in the airport. He tells Nora over the phone that he keeps his passport in his car and has credit cards so has no problems travelling at a moment’s notice. He says that he got a ticket on the same flight as Sam and EEE but doesn’t explain how he is going to be on the same plane without them seeing him.

Miggy tells FF that jealousy isn’t in his nature but he doesn’t like her “principito desteñido,” literally, “discolored princeling.” Since “Prince Charming” is rendered in Spanish as “Principe Azul” or “Blue Prince,” I guess a less than charming prince would be faded or discolored.

Gus tells Angie that he saw how he looked at JM and Laura. She says that JM is her painful past and Gus is her future. Gus says that he will never stop loving her.

Creepy stalkers use Dish Latino to watch sports on their tablet computers. EEE tells Sam that Willy is too jealous and suffocates her. Sam replies that only she can criticise Willy. Two bimbos nearly reveal to Sam that Willy is watching her.

D8D confronts Victor and Dante about who betrayed him to Camilo. Victor caves and admits he was responsible and D8D’s guys kill him. Johnny comes in to ask what is going on and he gets killed, too. D8D doesn’t like witnesses. [I thought he was part of the gang].

Natalia shows up at JM’s house [great security they have there] with two large suitcases. She tells Miggy that Johnny is dead and she is doing a flit. She has $10 million in the suitcases and half of it is for Miggy if he goes with her. Miggy refuses because he has found his true love. Natalia reminds him that she predicted that he would fall for FF.

Clara tells D8D that thanks to the treatment D8D paid for, her Dad is better. She says that she feels things for D8D that she has never felt in her life. [should be disgust and fear but give it time]

JM has a fantasy that Angie comes back and says that she loves him. Instead, he invites Laura to dinner.

Sam and EEE go into their rooms at the hotel while Willy watches.

Nora tells Angie that Gus is a good guy but sometimes we don’t fall in love with those who will make us happy, we fall in love with those who will make us suffer. She says this applies to her and Angie.

CORAZÓN VALIENTE miércoles Part 2

Miggy tells Gus that it was no coincidence that Victor is dead and he was the one who told Camilo about D8D.

Nora tells Jessica that her Dad was murdered.

EEE calls D8D and gloats that he is far away from Willy and alone with Sam. D8D says that he doesn’t care. EEE drugs Sam’s juice glass. He tells himself that Sam didn’t give him an alternative.

Miggy goes to into FF’s hospital room and she isn’t there. Duval tells Miggy that FF has entered a witness protection program and no one knows where she is including Duval. Miggy refuses to believe that FF would leave without him. We flashback to Duval telling FF that if Miggy stays with her, he will end up dead. Miggy says that Duval is wrong. No one can protect FF like he can.

Camilo apparently gets the cocaine that the narcos cheated him out of before. What honest narcos!! Now he and Gus are ready for the next stage of the plan. Camilo says that the hardest part of the plan was pretending to be Luis in front of Clara. Gus tells Camilo that Clara and D8D are getting married.

D8D shows up at Willy’s house and pretends sympathy for Jessica’s loss.

Miggy wants Gus to help him find where FF is but Gus says that he can’t help.

Sam drinks the drugged juice and dozes off in the restaurant. Meanwhile, Willy bribes a maid to let him into Sam’s room. He hides in the bathroom while EEE carries Sam into the room, puts her on the bed and starts to undress her. Willy comes out of the bathroom like he was going to surprise Sam and realizes what is going on. He and EEE get into a fight. EEE pulls a gun [did those TSA guys miss a gun in his luggage?]. Sam wakes up and calls Willy. EEE runs out of the room.

Willy throws her words back at Sam, “I am Willy, the jealous one, the fanatic, the immature one but I am saying to your face that EEE is garbage.”

JM and Laura talk all night. JM tells Laura that he has always done what he was supposed to do. Laura tells him that it is never too late to rebel. JM kisses Laura but sees Angie and of course, Angie, JC and Violeta show up at that moment.

D8D tells the Reptile that Verdugo is helping to get her out of the looney bin. Then he brings Clara in to meet the Reptile. The Reptile is underwhelmed. D8D gets a call from EEE saying that his plan for Sam failed and he is going to tell Sam and Willy the truth about their daughter and D8D is too far away to stop him.

Miggy asks JM to help him find FF. Gus tells Miggy that he has information about FF.

Sam tells Willy that she is almost invulnerable in her work but not so much outside of that because she fell in love with Willy. EEE comes in and Sam hits him. EEE says that if they throw him out, they will never learn the truth about their daughter.

Awesome, Jean

Many thanks. Loved the scenes with Sam and Willy; enjoyed the scenes with Camilo again under the tutelage of Miguel. Although JM professes to love Angela intensely, his roving eye seems easily tempted.

CORAZON VALIENTE-

Thanks, Floridia. Yes, quite a contrast between Willy, who is supposed to be the ladies man and who, once he found Sam again has not looked at another woman and JM who supposedly loves Angie so much but shacked up with the Reptile, had sex with Alex and seems now to be falling for Laura.

CORAZON VALIENTE

I don't know who wrote this, but I thought the same thing.

Just wanted to comment that the Bernardo/Clara thing reminds me of Lex Luther and Parker Posey in the last superman movie.

On another blog I read that the writers did not know why Angela and JM did not succeed as did Willy and Sam. They thought they were going to have 2 supercouples, but it just did not work. I knew from that post that things between Angela and JM were going to get weirder/stupider than in the past, but I have to say I am now intrigued to find out if they will get back together and why? I still don't like that the men get to unzip at the speed of lightning (even Willy), while the women have to stay with their chastity belts intact.

I thought last night with Willy rescuing Sam and the comments he made afterward again rang true.

But the scenes with D8D, all of them now make me sick. What happened to his "I'm not a killer"

I would like to see a happy outcome for Nora, she deserves it.

This TN does have the best child actors, they are definitely a pleasure to watch. I do hope that the actress that plays Jessica gets a chance to sing, as she did at the wedding of her last TN - Eva Luna

PABLO ESCOBAR, Part 1

I’m going to try to get this straight, but again, I’m might have mixed up a few things.

There are two cartel guys being held prisoner by Pablo’s men, somehow related to the Cali cartel. They are Hernan Valenza, who has blond hair, is fairly tough, and his wife has short dark hair. The other is Pedro Correa, darker hair, not as tough, wife is named Laura, she has light straight hair (looks a little like Regina).

We’re also introduced a little more to Mauricio, another cartel member, who’s mainly been in the background previously. He looks a lot like a clean shaven Marcos Herber, but he’s a different guy. Mauricio makes a call to his wife, who is upset they have to move from their luxurious house (all the cartel members do, with the new extradition threat). Later, we see Mauricio meet with Pablo, wondering how come Valenza (a good friend of his) disappeared. Pablo plays dumb, but Mauricio is suspicious.

Chili is at Laura’s house, having opened up her husband’s safe. He takes all the money. Laura is not happy. Chili says it still won’t be enough.

General Ulloa calls Colonel Pedregal. Ulloa’s furious. You let those guys escape, you’re sitting in your office doing nothing! Either you get me one of the top guys in less than a month, or you’ll be relieved from command. Pedregal then calls Pablo, you’ve got to give me one of your guys in a week, or our whole arrangement is over. Pablo is first outraged, but then decides to think about it. My prediction? He’ll turn in Mauricio.

PABLO ESCOBAR, Part 2

Correa sits in a law office, forced to sign over all his deeds to Pablo. So Pablo’s men took the money from his safe, and now all his deeds. Later, Chili and Kiko meet with Correa’s wife Laura again, we need a total of $10 million to save your husband. She says that’s impossible, but she can get $2 million. However, she won’t do it without seeing that he’s still alive. She needs a picture or some other proof. Correa, tied up again, tells his captors he’ll triple any offer, but this falls on deaf ears.

Meanwhile, Mauricio has set up a little surveillance thing for his friend (the blond guy) Hernan Valenza. If Valenza calls, they’ll trace the call. Sure enough, Pablo’s men have allowed Valenza to call his wife, and Mauricio is right there with the equipment. Hernan talks to his wife for a while saying, give them whatever they want. But Mauricio’s men have traced the call to within a small area, and there are only a few houses in that area. Tomorrow, we may have some kind of rescue attempt.

Speaking of millions, at their new house, Pablo asks Pati, how could you pay $1 million for 5 paintings? She laughs, they’re $1 million EACH. He thinks that’s a waste of money, you should spend it on a prize horse. She says animals die, but paintings increase in value. Oh, the problems a family can have :) She also says when are we gonna stop hiding, to which he replies we’re not hiding, it’s just “extra special security”. Right.

Kiko is showing Cain how to spin a gun. They’re guarding Correa. Let me try, says Cain. He spins his gun, and it goes off, killing Correa! Whoops!!!!

CORAZÓN VALIENTE -

thanks so much Jean !!!

Johnny didn't have much of a part,
true to his word, D8D doesn't kill people,
I wonder where he keeps his bad guys while he is chasing the young girls around.

Natalia was cute, in her scenes with Miguel,
they really are good together,

haven't seen Cecilia in a while,

D8D almost bopped Rodrigo with his cane,
when he said he has fallen for Fabiola,
and later shoo'd him away with it when Clara was getting mushy,
Rodrigo seems to have lost his usefulness to anyone, and I think he knows it,
I wonder what he will do now.

the way things are,
JM's fantasy with Angela was actually spooky,
her character reminds me of the battered wife, that keeps going back for more,
I can even see her hanging around Camilo when he is being Luis, but trying not to,
I'm not really seeing anything working out for her.
Gus is so nice staying beside her,
just like JM was.

did D8D know that Victor was Jessica's father?

Mild mannered, Dummy Duval, has an incredible talent for throwing everything off in the wrong direction,

Miguel all pumped up over Fabiola missing,
and then pumping up Camilo,
the two of them walking around huffing, had me laughing,

So JefEEE drugging Sammi is now out,
how satisfying was Willy's punch?
and later Sammi's.

so JefEEE is going to spill on Clara's baby,
what could possibly stop him,
and he is doing it to spite D8D...

CORAZON VALIENTE:

Thanks for another great recap, Jean!

Nellie, I agree, D8D certainly can't say he's not a murderer now.

I continue to be amazed at JM's attraction to Laura, since she doesn't smile much, has never worn anything sexy, and is supposed to be his bodyguard. JM is super handsome and rich, why does he go after a person who is not sexy, inappropriate, formerly engaged to Gustavo, etc. If he's not going to get back with Angie (which of course he will), he should get out more, and cut out all that Subway and Dish Latino, which are not helping him one bit.

CORAZON VALIENTE:

Natalia sure profited from her one month marriage. $10 million! Of course, not being that essential to the plot, she could have a short life span.

When Willy was fighting with Jefe, he said, "what did you do, drug her, and then try to rape her?" Sam may have been out of it, but I think she heard. So Jefe really can't pretend to be the good guy any more (he should be arrested). Will he really tell Sam and Willy the truth about Clara?

And do we really think where FF is now is super secure? The good guys apparently have almost found her. And I keep wondering if the nurses there could easily be bribed.

This show makes one wonder if there are any lawyers, doctors, nurses or guards who CAN'T be bribed.

PABLO ESCOBAR -

thanks so much Hombre !!!

I'm pretty lost through much of the show these days,
and have to wait for your recaps to sort things out.

If I got this right, the Medellin Cartel came about when the Ochoas' sister was kidnapped and the big guys came together to rescue her and to retaliate against the kidnappings of cartel members and their families.

and now Pablo is turning on his own guys, sure they are the bad apples, but he is lying to the rest of the Cartel members about it, hmm, this can't be good for his karma, or for the Cartel.

and Gonzalo, his cousin, doesn't seem to have an opinion on anything anymore,
he just goes along with anything Pablo comes up with.

CORAZON VALIENTE-

D8D is legally and morally responsible for the murders of Victor and Johnny but I'm sure in his perverted mind, he considers himself "not a killer" because he did not pull the triggers himself.

I am sure that the super-safe witness protection program has been infiltrated by bad guys. It's not just on novelas. I can't count the number of TV shows where the person who needs protection is taken to a "safe" place and the bad guys not only know about it, they are running the place.

That's interesting, Nellie, about the failure of JM and Angie as a couple. It's true but it's the writers' fault. JM's character is written like most telenovela galans: stupid so that he is manipulated by the evil characters but basically honorable. You know he will suffer through all the idiotic tribulations and get the girl in the end. You know that he and Angie are destined for one another rather than believe it.

Willy is different. He is a lovable rogue. He is faithful to Sam and tries all kind of silly things to get what he wants but deep down there is that solid foundation of love between them that never changes and it makes you believe in them as a couple.

CORAZÓN VALIENTE

Thanks, Jean, great job as always on the recap.

I wonder how the writers will thwart EEE's plan to tell Sam and Willy about Clara: hotel fire? heart attack? urgent cell phone call keeping them from listening to him? or they flat out don't believe him?

The get-out-of-jail-free card that the Reptile is apparently getting from her daddy is very confusing. First he says he already bribed a nurse to let her out the back door. Then he says that El Verdugo is going to play a part.

I have a theory about who may be going to play El Verdugo, but I don't want to spoil anyone's surprise in case I'm right. I don't think he's anyone we've already seen in the cast.

Hombre, Angeline Moncayo, who plays Laura, has often played a very sexy character and appears very made up and with practically nothing on in other novelas I've seen. So I guess they thought she'd be the perfect temptation for JM. But, as a police officer, she has to be more conservative looking. Obviously, she's not your cup of tea!

Yes, any plan for protection cooked up by Dummy Duval is doomed to failure.

Corazon Valiente
Thanks a lot for the great recap
Although Angie doesn't seem so interesting to me , but I must confess how much I like her with Gus!! they have good chemistry with each other( or maybe because I like Gus more than JM) , off course my most favorite couples in this Novela are: Miguel and Fabiola and also Sam and Willy , but Angie and Gus(just together) are very good too

CORAZÓN VALIENTE:

Thanks a lot for the recap!! (I skipped a lot thanks to time issues, but will prob. eventually go back to watch the rest..)

Yeah, Bernie has his own rules when it comes to "sins" and "justice". However, he killed Darío all by himself, but still insisted that he wasn’t a killer and preferred not to kill people. Since then he has become more accepting towards killing.
(I wonder if Sam and Willy will ever find out about Darío. Estela and Ofelia are dead…)

EEE really likes his drug juice. Sam might not have found out about the last time, but at least this incident revealed that EEE’s another creepy molester/rapist. (I still hope that the part about the mental hospital will be revealed as well). And seriously, I do NOT want Sam to forgive the creep this time. Enough is enough. (Even for this novela) The punch to the face wasn’t satisfying enough, but it will do for now.

Why did EEE insist on phoning D8D to gloat and tell him about his plans? Wouldn't it be more fun afterwards? (Of course, since he won't succeed, it must be done before, but still, it seemed a little weird. Hopefully he will succeed in telling Sam and Willy the truth, but I too have my doubts.)

Wow... so Johnny made his first and only appearance and his purpose was to be killed. Okay.

Jessie is great and makes Nico more interesting as well. (And I like that she roots so much for Sam and Willy. :) )

I suppose I still believe in JM and Angie as a couple, but that’s probably because I know that I’m supposed to root for them and I don’t really care that much anyway. My main issue with them was the whole debacle with Angie’s prison sentence. I don’t mind JM’s stupidity. To me it makes him more likable (even if he ended up being tricked by Fernanda), but I couldn’t fathom how he went from believing in Angie’s innocence even with evidence against her to believing in her guilt with evidence FOR her and wouldn’t even believe that she has been threatened. He hardly even seemed sad when he thought she was dead, which to me was just too unbelievable for someone who had lost the love of his life. I need to actually see the love… from both parties instead of being told by others that it’s something great and destined or whatever. JM and Angie’s romance has always paled in comparison to Sam and Willy’s, but it’s even worse now when all the drama has almost killed whatever little magic there was. It’s inevitable of course that a couple becomes less appealing as more obstacles and drama must be invented to (ironically) keep things "interesting". I also liked Sam and Willy more at the beginning, but at least now when they’re together (after the unfortunate incest drama that really didn’t do them any favours) they’re (mostly) enjoyable to watch and seem like a real and believable couple. (Kudos to the actors as well). Although there are times I wonder if Sam really loves Willy as much as he loves her, she ends up coming through in the end and I go back to liking them as a couple again. :)

Corazon Valiente
Just recalling early in this novela that Sammy and Willy were put into a "witness protection program" because of the mafia guy trying to kill Willy...and they ended up at a fake witness protection location at the mercy of the killers. The nurse caring for Fabby in the new place last night looked innocent enough, but also maybe a weak link. *sigh* Do we really, truly trust Duval?

CORAZÓN VALIENTE – jueves – Part 1

As predicted, El JefEEE does not tell Sam and Willy about Clara. He tries and Willy and Sam say that they don’t want to hear what he has to say and tell him to get out of their lives. He replies that that can’t happen because of Nic. When EEE tries again, he is interrupted by a call from D8D, who, not surprisingly, threatens Nic if EEE blabs to Willy and Sam. EEE just tells them that Lorena impregnated other women with Sam’s fertilized eggs but the clinic has no proof of anything. Sam and Willy tell him to get lost.

Yesterday, Gus told Miggy that he had information about FF but it turns out that it is the same information Miggy already had: that FF has been taken to a place with maximum security and Gus doesn’t know where that is. Miggy doesn’t believe him.

FF is some medical-type place. She tries to write a letter to Miggy.

Sam is bummed out by this latest piece of bad news. Willy tries to comfort her saying that together they are indestructable. Then the phone rings and there is more bad news – Jessie’s father’s has been murdered.

JM tells Angie that there isn’t anything between him and Laura and that he is really, really sorry for what he did in the past. Angie replies he made her change her life. She has moved on and doesn’t care about him anymore.

Because Jessie’s mother can’t or won’t take charge of her, Duval says that she is subject to the jurisdiction of the Juvenile Court and will probably be sent to a juvenile facility. Jessie is upset at this idea and pleads with Duval to let her stay with Willy and Sam.

Camilo goes to see Dante to tell him that he got his merchandise. Dante is very subdued as if he wasn’t aware that drug dealing frequently involves killing people. He is not interested in his share of the merchandise but takes a kilo that Camilo has on him to service the people at the club.

Miggy tells JM that he is desperate to find FF. JM makes the astonishing statement that Miggy is probably not the best bodyguard for FF since he is involved with her. Haven’t virtually all the bodyguards on this novela have gotten involved with their clients? Miggy is offended and says that he doesn’t want to work for JM anymore or live there.

Apparently, Miggy gave up his apartment when he went to live at JM’s house. He asks Gus if he can stay at his house. Gus is happy to have Miggy there. Miggy tells Gus that he is sure that D8D is responsible for the deaths of Victor and Johnny.

Sam and Willy return home from Germany and are told that Nic and Jessie have run away from home.

CORAZÓN VALIENTE – jueves – Part 2

EEE goes to see D8D. D8D is glad that EEE didn’t tell Sam and Willy about Clara. EEE warns D8D to stay away from his son. Rodrigo tells D8D that he couldn’t sleep all night worrying about FF. D8D replies that FF is under police protection and no one knows where – except Verdugo.

Worry about FF hasn’t let Miggy sleep either. Then he remembers the ring with the microchip that FF has. He starts tracking her.

A doctor at the FF’s new place is a bad guy but she puts him off by saying that she has to use the bathroom.

We have new credits for the show with many of the new characters.

Miggy follows the signal from the ring to a place that looks like a warehouse with ambulances in front of it.

Génesis quizzes Laura about her personal life. JM apologizes to Laura for the kiss and says that it is an awkward situation because Angie is his ex and Laura is Gus’ ex. Laura assures him that she is not getting involved with JM as revenge on Gus. JM is a man that she likes.

The security in the FF new location is so good that Miggy can get in simply by putting on a pair of scrubs.

Gus comes to interview D8D but he claims that Victor was a slight acquaintance and he doesn’t know anything about narcotrafficers.

Miggy chloroforms two cops and finds FF. She hits him with a bottle but he is ok.

EEE shows up at Willy’s house and asks if they are sure that Nic and Jessie ran away as opposed to being kidnapped. He and Willy spar about who can call themselves Nic’s father.

Miggy and FF escape from the safe house place in an ambulance.

Angie tells Laura that she doesn’t care about JM.

Miggy takes FF to the grand house in Hollywood of a famous film actress whose life he saved in Mexico.

D8D tells Rodrigo that things aren’t going well. FF has escaped from the safe house place and it doesn’t seem that she was taken by the police. D8D can’t believe that it was Miggy.

CORAZÓN VALIENTE – jueves – Part 3

EEE comes to see D8D and tells him that he had better not have been involved in Nic’s disappearance.

Willy appeals to JM for legal help in getting custody of Jessie. JM succeeds in getting temporary custody for Sam and Willie.

FF dresses up in some of the actress’s clothes and prances around. For somebody who had surgery yesterday and was “muy delicada,” she is in remarkably good shape. She and Miggy kiss.

Gus asks Angie to move in with him. JM overhears. Angie does not respond.

Clara asks Rodrigo what the story is with D8D. Creepy people like Dante visit and then the police. She says that someone told her that D8D is a mafioso. Rodrio replies that D8D is the best guy in the world and she has nothing to worry about.

The dummies Nic and Jessie show up at D8D’s for help.

Sam has a vision of a baby calling her name. She asks Willy, “what if EEE wasn’t lying?”

Miggy and FF finally have sex in front of a fire in the big mansion.

CORAZÓN VALIENTE –

fútbol tonight,
this is confusing but I think that there will be no Corazon Valiente tonight, and the other three prime time novelas may be at different times, depending on your time zone, since the game will be live.

CORAZÓN VALIENTE –

thanks so much Jean, great recap !!!

I was distracted in the first segment trying to get Miggy to remember the RING!

I wish there had been some evidence of the Verdugal plot left for the police,
strange that the back door to the getaway ambulance was open as they zoomed away,
and a hand came out at the last minute to close it.

loved Génesis' interrogation of Laura,
I think it went something like, (in succession)
are you married,
do you have a boyfriend,
do you have any friends,
any animals,
anything ???
Laura, not knowing what to say,
didn't get a chance to answer as Génesis took off to do something else,
cute!

Angela, Angela, Angela...
her list of reasons she gave earlier of the bad things Jm has done to her was quite valid,
but it didn't include any of the good things,
or any of the bad things on her part, like dragging Luis into JM's life,
and people have moved mountains to help her,
but in the end, it's always the same, for all her boyfriends,
I love you, but we can't be together right now.
Angela, Angela, Angela...

I was hoping Rodrigo might come over to the good side,
but his comments to Clara made him sound like a D8D mini-me.
maybe he will shave his head next?

I'm loving Miggy and Fabiola,
a 'gran amor'
is truly a wonderful thing.

so now the police have a SUV full of drugs,
(for only a couple of million dollars)
and this is good because ???

CORAZON VALIENTE-

Thanks Deb. Great comments. I had completely forgotten about the ring.

It was also not clear to me why FF bopped Miggy when he came into her room. Why would think he was a bad guy.

Rodrigo seems to have some little good in him since he has feelings for FF but I think that he still feels that he owes everything to D8D.

Like you, I don't understand the drug deal plot at all. It makes absolutely no sense.

I am in the group who is unmoved by Miggy and FF's romance. It's FF. I liked Miggy with Cecilia and Natalia but his gran amor for FF just doesn't do anything for me.

CORAZON VALIENTE

Great recap, an episode I missed, too bad I missed the love scene, did they show her belly? was there a gunshot wound? Any scars on Miggy?

Deb, agree with everything you said. Thank you

PABLO ESCOBAR, Jueves

Kiko and Cain tell Pablo about their little “accident”, killing Pablo Correa. Escobar isn’t too happy, the wife said she’d pay $2 million for a photo showing hubby was alive. What to do? Well, Chili says we’ll just force her to pay. Nah, says Pablo, let’s clean this guy up. They wash off some of the blood, and Pablo ends up sewing the guy’s eyes open with something like fishing line! One Polaroid later, and they’re set.

Pablo calls Pedregal, I’ve got your guy ready, but you need to come and get him. Pedregal is a little befuddled, but later, we see his police jeep head into the warehouse, sirens blaring. He sees Correa, dead. What am I going to do with this? And he’s not even a big cartel boss. Pablo replies, you wanted a cartel member, you got one. As to what you’re gonna do, just tell the General you shot him. Oh, the General is very suspicious, he’d never believe me. Okay, we’ll make him believe you. Guys? They henchmen aim at Pedregal’s thigh, prompting him to scream out, hold it, No! Okay, fine, next best thing. They shoot up his jeep! It’s now up to a very dubious Pedregal to convince Ulloa he’s really bringing down these drug guys.

But what about the money from Laura, the wife of Correa? Chili and Topo show her the picture. I don’t know, she says, he looks really pallid. I don’t know. The guys start sweating. But in the end, she agrees, and we see the guys recovering a giant trash can full of bills, buried in the ground. Laura doesn’t know it yet, but she lost her husband, all his properties, and all their money!

What about Hernan, the other guy? Having traced the call, Mauricio and crew drive around the area from which it originated. They ask a kid if he saw any SUV’s. Sure, just like that one coming now. And guess what? Topo and Marino are driving, and they stop to say hi to Mauricio. Mauricio doesn’t know that Hernan is tied up in the back! As the jeep rides away, Hernan screams out, but Mauricio doesn’t hear it. He tells his guys they must have lost the trail.

Pablo calls Mauricio, stop asking about Hernan. But he’s my best friend! Look, says Pablo, it’s a matter for the Cali cartel. You just stay out of it, for your own good. After hanging up, Mauricio has doubts. It just doesn’t add up. Could Pablo be screwing with me? Later, another call comes in from Hernan’s captors. Mauricio is in the room with Hernan’s wife, telling her, don’t agree to pay anything! Pablo’s guys ask for $2 million. This afternoon. The wife hangs up (not sure what that meant).

Well, now we know. Pablo says, Cain, you wanna play God? Sure, boss. He then shoots the tied up Hernan DEAD. Pablo picks up Cain’s little Bible, cynically and coldly flips it around in his hands, seemingly thinking to himself, who’s God, compared to Pablo Escobar?

But as Deb said, with Pablo betraying his own guys, isn't he walking a very narrow tightrope?

CORAZÓN VALIENTE- My DVR shows no CV tonight. I'm surprised they didn't actually say that last night. I saw the promo for the fútbol but it wasn't clear that it was preempting CV.

CORAZON VALIENTE:

Jean, another great, funny recap. I loved Miggy getting into the super high security place simply "by putting on a pair of scrubs". And yes, of course he had 2 does of that handy chloroform for the police officers.

Can we go even one night without a product placement? Last night either JM or Willy was raving about how great State Farm is.

One would think Jessica would have an aunt or uncle, some grandparents, but that would mess up our plot. I agree it wasn't too smart for Nico and Jessie to go to D8D's house.

Nellie, I don't think they actually showed Fabiola's belly, but we can be sure she's scarless. All of our characters, no matter how many times they've been shot, in car accidents, or whatever, have perfect, unblemished skin. Except for the Reptile, whose "beauty" has been "ruined".

Yes, the new credits, new song, make this seem like a completely different show from the original. Do we even need Angela and JM anymore. I think they other stories are much more fun.

PABLO ESCOBAR -

thanks so much Hombre !!!

so Pati pays 1 million each for 5 pictures,
and, did Pablo say,
he gets paid 2 million for one picture of Frankenstein,

I was thinking Pablo and Gonzalo were burying that trash can full of money,
because I was thinking they should get a lid,
rather than just putting some cloth over the top,
the Pablo banking system needs some work.

hmm, I was wondering why he didn't give both bodies to Pedregal,
this is smart, because it will explain their deaths,
interesting how Pablo introduced Kiko and Cain to Pedregal,
how polite of Pablo.
Pedregal is in it way over his head.

CORAZÓN VALIENTE

Thanks, Jean, another goodie!

They sure like to frustrate us, don't they. EEE on the verge of spiting D8D by telling all about Clara, and then the miserable creep calls and threatens Nico.

I'm starting to have fantasy death wishes for D8D. I just thought about him strapped to a conveyer belt slowly moving toward a big spinning saw blade.

I can't stand Rodrigo. I suppose the actor is trying to convey that he's not a very nice person, and it's working. His facial expressions bother me. AND I find him extremely unattractive.

I like Miggy and FF together. They, like Sam and Willy, are playful - a welcome trait in TN characters, many of whom seem to think being in love means moon faced adoration at all times.

Is D8D going to make Sam and Willy suffer by concealing Nico and Jessica from them. He can't harm Nico because his threat power over EEE goes away if he does that.

CORAZÓN VALIENTE

I doubt there's a CV tonight. If one appears, I'll write about it.

My DVR is having fits over this and was set to record Rosa Diamante twice - a show that isn't even in my list of things to automatically record each day!

Jean, I forgot to say in my earlier post that I loved: "Dante is very subdued... drug dealing involves killing". Yep, what happened to Victor and Johnny wiped the smirk right off his face.

Corazon Valiente
Yes, and did you love the way D8D turned away and delicately covered his ears as each shot was fired?
J in Oregon

CORAZÓN VALIENTE:

Thanks for the great recap!!

I like that the updated credits correspond to the ensemble nature of the telenovela, although I don’t like the change from featuring kick-ass women to showing the men (heck even JM) in action scenes. Unfortunately, that does seem to be the tone of the novela at the moment. I also feel that there is too much of Miggy&Fabiola (They almost feel like the main couple, actually. Lately I’ve been enjoying the novela less because of them and I‘m finding it harder to pay attention to it. Luckily, there are still other reasons/stories to watch.)

Nico is such an idiot. Haven’t his parents informed him about D8D? (Because if they haven’t, it’s mostly on them. However, Nico shouldn’t be completely clueless even if he hasn’t been told everything, since he’s seen how manipulative D8D can be). Jessie gets a pass, because there has been no indication that she should know about D8D. Still, taking off like that doesn’t show great judgement.

I hope Rodrigo gets to do something else but pine after Fabiola. We’ve had enough of that. I’d like him to have his own agenda as well and not be D8D’s little minion, who can’t really think for himself. (Unfortunately, he seems too loyal to him.)

CORAZÓN VALIENTE

Thanks for another excellent recap, Jean

"I like Miggy and FF together. They, like Sam and Willy, are playful - a welcome trait in TN characters, many of whom seem to think being in love means moon faced adoration at all times." Golden comment, novelera.

I also enjoy the comic scenes of Miggy and Camilo together.
