The Julie-Gala-Roselena Conversation

I so love when Rosa gives Gala a verbal slap down. :) You're right about the mob mentality with these three, but Rosa likes to work sola. I don't like that she already has a "plan", but if she thinks Luci is going to fall for the "nice" act, then she really is crazy.
I guess Rod forgot to go pick Gala up from her mother's that morning like he said he would...oops! I'm sure the first thing on his mind was getting to work so that he could stalk/see Luci. Too bad she didn't want to see him, or be stalked by him or his WIFE.
I am so glad that Luci gave Vio a piece of her mind about this stupid Aquiles plan, and that tomorrow she spills to the mamas. No way should she keep that secret for Vio. We're in for some fireworks!
Ah, Rod the Bod. That Gagme is hard to live with. He took all his frustrations out on that punching bag, and it still didn't look like enough.
I hated the bruja convention. I fear for Luci's bebe every day. I am glad she is staying in a hotel near Claudio. Ya know if Rosa thinks she can pull one over on Luci, she is sadly mistaken. Luci is so wise to her.
Loving the Pato and Luci relationship and Claudio and Pato are alot alike. I really like how Claudio and Pato interacted. If only Rod would see how wonderful Claudio is.
I get the feeling there is an anvil in Lastra's future along with Max. I wonder how much longer Marcial is going to be investigating Inferno and does he know yet that Max is the owner? And the money laundering. This will be an interesting story when it comes out, but I think it will be a long time coming.
Vio is really hard headed. I know Marcial hurt her pretty badly, but to marry an old man she doesn't love for money, will not solve her problems. She will be very unhappy, never mind this guy is her papa. Wait until Vio finds out. I wonder what she will think then? This love of money from her is disturbing. This is a very yucky storyline. I just hope Vio doesn't marry him, oy vey.
Those people in the hood are so sweet, love what they are doing for Luci. I think the boy name Rodrigo just popped out, but I think she had been thinking about it.
Lula ought to just claim Boris and be done with it. I really think Hanna needs to dump Boris like yesterday.
Gagme is just on my last nerve. I guess she never heard of you get more reaction from honey than from vinegar you spew everywhere. When is faked the pain before, Rod was right there taking care of her. He may not love her, but I think he really loves that bebe. He would do anything to protect it. If she weren't pregnant I don't think he would have cared less if she went out partying till the cows come home. He really isn't concerned for her, it's just his baby.
Like the developing relationship or a least respect between Claudio and Pato, Luci's two champions.Boy those folks in Het Het have come a long way from taking rickety old buses, now private jets are sent for them.
So Aldo finally spilled the frijoles about the cop. Now I wonder what will happen to Marcial and if it will happen while Vi is still working at Inferno. Big drive by coming up???
The three Bruges don't seem to be on the same page anymore. I guess the top dog is tired of their
r whining and not taking action although she did approve of the Ob?gyn switch thinking it was clever.
Lula is definitely a Gagme in training right down to the snotty comments. Unfortunately she is right the TL;s are certainly not going to approve of a drop out as a companion for their princess. On the other hand they are so busy with all the rest of their intrigues and plots they may not notice unless Aldo blabs. I can see that Boris and Lula's time on the novela has just about come to and end and good riddance.
How quick of Pato to think of Gagme's reaction if Luci has a boy and how the Dumbass apparently never gave it a thought. I swear i think he's been hit in the head by that heavy bag in his gym a couple of times.
So Conny caves yet again. She thinks she is doing Rosa a favor by sticking around till the tests are over, you know those tests Rosa has no intention of ever having. Conny disappointed me.
Felt like getting my own punching bag last night to take out my frustrations with some of these folks. WTH is Vio been smoking? Her reasoning is so flawed - C'mon. Don A is not THAT wealthy for what she thinks she'll get, she does realize she would be living back in Het Het? Couple good punches there. All over Lemon Sucker--cripes a punch just because he isn't even worth getting worked up for.
Gagme, well frankly, I'm with Rod there. You need a full workout to get over her antics. What did she accomplish with the call? Kudos to Luce--I loved that she fessed up and told Rod exactly what happened.
The witches conference ( where was the cauldron--and HORRORS, The Champagne Queen with no glass in her hand?? Early morning or no, thought she had one permanently attached at home.) I couldn't appreciate Rosa's put down of Car-grill because it serves just to encourage Every Dentist's Dream to get busy with more manipulations.
Punch for each of them.
I don't like Luce alone in that hotel room, much prefer her back in the pueblo, but brava to Pato of thinking of bringing everyone in. (For all Rod's mooning and sighing, how come he doesn't think of things like that for his supposed love? Stalker--couple punches to him. )
Conie Connie Connie...a punch because you do NOT need to live in that mausoleum just to take R to her doc appointments. Argh
And Aldo--a big punch for being an ass. Such a Jerk on the with the gang at the corner. And not sure about his fessing up to Max. He may think he's getting on Uncle's good side, but this could prove a bad move ( he just admitted to a crook he knows his scheme.)
I love your punches list. I'd prefer slaps, but the sentiment is still the same.
My favorite line of many was: "(Me thinks this is the Oracle of Delphi speaking through Pato.)". The vocabulary was sensational.
Vio is defiant. At this point, the only thing that will have her canceling the wedding is finding out that DA is her father. Which should happen mercifully soon, we hope. And yes Vivi, as Magda is involved, we KNOW fireworks are in the works for sure!!
Madelaine, yes, Hanna needs to dump Boris and pick up with the loathsome leftover.
daisy: "Gagme, well frankly, I'm with Rod there. You need a full workout to get over her antics" had me nodding in vigorous agreement.
I had high hopes for Aldo but he continues to try and fast track taking credit where none is due: "He tries to show off that he’s the head capitalista and (main) associate in this taco enterprise. Fabian doesn’t look too happy with the interruption". Me neither.
Thanks again Anita!
Diana
I'm now waiting for the catfight that's brewing between Gagme and Rosaloca. Who else thinks that the latter's first reality check will finally be Julie's greed?
Connie needs to realize that she will have to hogtie Rosaloca if she wants to get her to a shrink.
While Rod should not be involved in this, I don't think his talking to Max was wrong here. Max needs to shut his wife's foul mouth about his affair. She will try to blackmail him about this but there is no good reason to tell Jana if everyone else is willing to keep this from her. And Jana should go away to college.
Keep wondering when cabeza caliente Rod is going to snap his lego into place. I cannot imagine any place on earth that Rod and Luci could live together without Rod getting jealous and going ballistic at the first person to talk with Luci. He continues to stalk her for the chance meeting, to do what insult her and slobber his jealousy. And, his relationship with braying Gagme. Dear Lord how much longer before his light bulb comes on and realizes that wait I don't have to be married to this hate fest.
Conny again proved in this TN, if you say you are going to do something you won't.
ALdo is playing a masterful game but don't think he an Vicki will escape from Max unscathed.
One more time CL. Luci is het het. Stop this be the daughter I want you to be and let her live her life.
Violet, I'm on your side but honey "you're lookin' for love in all the wrong places. If $ is your thing, then get one that is rich and YOUNG. Not old and who's your daddy.
the other funny part of that was that when Magda said that the girl had to be from outside since all the women in town knew DonA too much. Procopio responded 'well, except Lucha!' to which DonA said Lucha was not 'de mi peso' (a woman of my measure/taste)...
back to reading your fab recap.
Some of my favs from your recap:
(not a word, but I was on a roll) … I guess all of us recappers come up with our own words every now and then…
She is seen eating an apple, but no Snow White is she.
About Frigida: (I can't wait to read her novel.) ROFLOL!!
Imagine how she’s going to react if it is a boy?
Rod dreamily repeats, a boy—my child with Luciana.
Did you check out Rod’s face of lala-land and Pato’s noticing it and getting sad?
Btw, it is ‘reguero’ not ‘regero’… and a better translation would be a spill/pile.
Btw, Madelaine, I agree that Rod was only worried for the baby and not for Gala and if she were not pregnant he would have given her money to go have fun and off his face. But now with Luci letting him know about Gala’s phone call and threat, he will care not only about the baby but also that nothing happens to the baby so Gala will not take it on Luci.
Vivi, totally agree that Hanah has to dump both Boris and Lula… go hang out with Melissa and even Selene and Ofelia.
Decie, ITA about loving the relationship between Claudio and Pato. And also about the ladies at Het Het suddenly upgrading their transportation protocol from ‘camion’ to private jets. … regarding Marcial.. Big drive by coming up??? Lol!~ a la Godfather?
Daisynjay, I am with you that DonA is not as rich as Vio thinks…
Grill teeth = Every Dentist dream … ROFLOL! Good one!
Love the punches list idea… maybe we should come up with punches and high fives list at every episode.
Vivi, agree that some of the yung ones here like Vio, Aldo and Vicky learn the wrong way.
Anon, agree that Rod needs to just move out of the apt. Don’t have to stay married to Grill teeth truck horn only because she is expecting your baby, but if she uses the baby wellbeing to keep him on a leash, he asked for that… Also agree on CL needs to let Luci be Luci and chose her life.
Martai--About the u in reguero, I only looked up regar and figured regero was the noun (forgot it would be a soft g). Your phrasing works better with polvora, which on second look is defined as gunpowder or fireworks, which we will surely get when Magda confronts Don A. (Can you tell my dictionary is chained to my wrist?)
We have to get through two bombshells going off--the Vio/DA marriage and the Nferno meltdown--then it will have to be meses despues for Luci and Gala. Can't wait to see their babybumps. Luci has *got* to go back to Het Het where it is safe and her pots are waiting. That should make our three brujas stand out like sore thumbs if they personally try to reach Luci there.
On the other hand, RE isn't above paying someone to do dirty work (at the cemetery she spend a wad of dough), but infantacide is something a lot of men she could buy would think twice about (hopefully). Or she could have someone push Luci off one of those Het Het cliffs, but getting her out of Paz' house and her pots would be hard. It will also be hard to poison her there, they all eat the same food and drink the same liquids. A shooting accident? Any other ideas--not that I want to give RE any of them.
Anon@9:05--You are right! Hot Rod Bod is looking less and less desirable to me as a life partner. Where could they be happy? It's like the Harrison Ford/Kelly McGillis quandry in Witness. He couldn't live in her world and she couldn't live in his.
I think Janna and Lorenzo face the same issue, although Janna and Melissa both seem very comfortable associating with Luci and her Barrio "family" and Lor is becoming a city boy. Maybe Max & RE can't accept him without an education, but there are smart, enterprising young people who can make good without a college education (Aldo excepted), when they are in the right place at the right time. The boys could end up franchising their Taco Bikes and going IPO.
Anita
Mads--Remember when we did Mr. Inappropriate in CME? We had so many of them going to the same persons (Augustin & Alvaro) that we added women and gave up when Fina cornered the market (until Blanca came along).
Anita
Gagme can be immediately entered into the Punchees Hall of Fame.
Thanks Marta for explaining "perro de fuera"...like Anita, I could not figure that out.
Vocabulary was just excellent...and again your eye for detail is amazing
NO, NO, NO, Please NO. It can't/mustn't end by Thanksgiving. I LOVE-LOVE-LOVE this novela, the story line, cast and crew, Het Het, everything. I have become addicted to it. Please don't end! After the BIG build-up of some other novelas, I haven't been able to wrap myself around them like I have with this one. I think that when it ends, I will probably go into withdrawals and have to check myself into a rehab clinic.
the gringo
According to Wikipedia, most of her roles have been as an antagonista. Someone earlier said she's probably typecast now. It has to be the mouth and the teeth, although Julia Roberts can do mouth and teeth, too.

Poor Vi has gone off the deep end. She was actually unpleasant last night and she is not listening to anyone. She is in for one grotesque shock. She thinks she can squeeze Don A for what he and she think is big bucks and then hustle back to the DF. Now she is going to throw over her job and with her newest attitude adjustment probably burn all her bridges with Lastra only to soon discover he dream money bags is her loathsome father. Ergo no big bucks sugar daddy and no job even in a dive.
We still have no idea what Max's instructions were so Macial may or may not be in for a beat down or worse. The thing I find refreshing in this novel is the absence of a high body count. So far as i know there is only been one. In the prior version there had already been four with more to come. I've always thought killing off characters was lazy writing.
Try as I might i just can't warm up to Aldo. He has some of Rosa's feelings of exaggerated self importance. His behavior on the corner with the Barrio Boys and Claudio was cringe inducing. I'm pretty sure Claudio and Fabian see through him but Lor still has some of his Het Het naiveté and believes in him.
I agree that Max needs to tell Rosa to STF up about his affair. He should warn her that while it might have the affect of destroying Jana admiration and love for her, deliberating hurting her own daughter to spite him is low class and could/should rebound on her. The again Rosa has no boundaries and apparently never learned that something should be between a husband and wife only.
I have no idea what Gala has in store for Luci. Two TNs that I know of had someone give the girl poison, twice in Eva Luna. Oh wait, that wasn't poison in Lo Que No Podia Amor that was a snake.
Luci should not only stay out of the Torreslanda's sight, she should hide out 'till well after that baby is born. Of course it is going to be a boy they gave it away by having Luci name it.
Gardino Paz's hubby died at the beginning aided along by Don A. That set in motion the who is Rosa Torres and all the rest of the story.
While I'm not a fan of the convenient death Gagme, Lastra and Julie would be high on my hit list and if Aldo doesn't shape up him as well.
What I have noticed that every TN has in common: about 3 people if you put them in a car and drive them off a cliff everything would be fine, and indeed, you would have no story.
If you got rid of just Gala and Rosaelina alone I think everyone would calm down. Julie on her own-I think she is not powerful enough to accomplish anything-just send her away on a trip to Italy; she'll meet some dude and never come back.
But I'll take one death over none. It's still a very "lively" telenovela and I hope the writers keep it that way.
