Por ella soy Eva #64 10/15/12: Adriano and Plutarco are undeterred by the demurrals of their respective love objects. Por ella soy eva October 15

Helena is not sure re-hiring all the women is a good idea. Does GI have the money for it?

Renato is pithed to lose his place with Helena. He complains to Helena: "This is nepotism." "Lucia knew this project from the beginning, don't doubt my motives." Mousse boy leaves in a dark mood. He is clearly a villain.

Pluto is the opposite of complimentary about Eva's physical attributes, but Adri is enchanted. "She keeps rejecting me but I'm stubborn." He says his sister would have wanted Pluto to get on with his life. He says he can't.

Juan frets that he's not allowed to see Eugenia and considers coming out to Modesto. Mimi: "He didn't want to help JC when he was fleeing, so it would be crazy to hope for his help now." Juan complains he never has time to check out the company's finances and figure out the fraud.

Lucia, after all the nagging to get to be Helena's assistant, now is distressed that she's put Renato out of the job. She is MENSA to like him when he's so clearly a villain! Helena warns Lucia to be very businesslike or she's off the project.

Now Pluto wants his pet hacker to get into Eva's computer and find something damaging, he doesn't care what, nude pictures would be fine, just something to help get rid of her.

Helena is sad, she doesn't really want to go back to the beach, last time she was there with JC and they had such a great time... Helena tries to convince Eva that Pluto has suffered but Eva's heart is not melted. In fact, Eva tells Helena: "My friend Toni died sure that her husband had a lover!!" Helena is impactada.

Pluto enters, interrupting the revelations; he makes sly jokes about Adri's lust. Eva denies their relationship is anything but professional. When Eva exits, Helena asks Pluto if what Eva said was true. With smoke and mirrors Pluto deflects the gossip.

Now Santi, the dissolute drunk with the low-class wife, is sleeping on the job. He and Fer are the most useless employees at Grupo Imperio.

Pluto tells evil Mousse Boy: "**I** am your only boss."

Adri is so sad, it flusters Juan/Eva who says: "I am a man for only one woman. Uh. I mean, a woman for only one man." S/he says Adri should get a dog if he's lonely and suggests: "Let's be excellent friends, as you were with JC." Moved by Adri's misery, Eva makes a concession: Adri will have to make great sacrifices to win her love.

Lalo: "Ma, you haven't laughed the way you used to ever since Juan has been gone." He wishes he could go to the beach with her. He is cute.

Juan Carlos to Mimi: "Now that I see how awful it is to take hair off my body, I wouldn't mind hairy women." He morosely mulls: it's gonna be tough at the beach, avoiding Adri while simultaneously keeping Pluto away from Helena.

Wait, who is this gorgeous woman lying in Adri's lap while he moans about Eva? She's annoyed listening to his moaning and leaves.

Pluto comes to take Helena to the airport. Silvia asks if his love for Helena is true. He assures her he is infatuated. "Then promise you'll never make her suffer."

Eduardo's friend says he should go get Silvia back. Ed would rather hire a servant.

At the beach, Eva tells Helena: "Let's you and I not be separated for an instant." However, Adri tells Helena he's so in love with Eva and has a surprise for her, a romantic dinner. Helena promises help.

The vela! A band comes in, playing a fine romantic bolero, there is a huge hideous valentine that says "I love you," Adri narrows his eyes lustfully. He grabs Eva, he kneels at her feet and presses his head to her ... abdomen ... Helena, watching, is overcome with amusement.

Eva, indignant and decisive: "I have strong reasons to deny you and any man." Adri wonders if she's interested in women. Juan Carlos throws the rose in his face and flees. Adri eats the rose as the musicians play. They play while he eats dinner alone and gets drunk. "This is exactly why I planned never to fall in love. Now all I want are a few kisses from this gigantic woman."

Santi asks his wife if she thought of learning to cook. She says she's a modern woman and doesn't need to cook, in fact, he should hire her a maid. And, she has organized a party to introduce herself to everybody he knows. And, she wants an extension on her credit card. She spells out their contract: "You give me little ... things ... and I give you little ... kisses..."

Helena tells Pluto she doesn't want to feel pressured by his desire that she be his girlfriend. He says of course not, then pressures her: "Leave Juan Carlos in the past - the pain isn't worth it." She goes alone to her absolutely gigantic hotel suite and remembers being there with Juan and his bogus ha ha ha Argentinian accent.

Her reverie is interrupted by Eva at the door, yelling, how could you leave me with that lunatic!!!!

Helena tries to convince Eva: "You could be happy with this man who obviously loves you. Leave that dead husband in the past." As they stare into each other eyes Helena finally sees something... in Eva's eyes... oh, it's nothing. She sends Eva away. Eva is very reluctant to go.

Back at GI, Rebeca is planning some media event to her own advantage.

Juan tells Mimi he is full of memories of the wonderful things that happened at the beach last time and he wants to kiss Helena 24/7. Mimi tells him to snap out of it and concentrate.

Tomorrow the show will be at 7 pm.

Melinama thank you so much for this quick, wonderful recap. I just knew Mousse Boy Renato would be pithed, now that he doesn't work for Helena. Love that Lucia got the position, but don't like how she is concerned about Renato and whined like a puppy.

Gotta love Adri. He is bending over backwards for Eva, who knew. I still hope he ends up with Mimi.

Pluti is so evil. I wonder what he is going to have Renato do? Probably the same as Onesimo, who is really now at Rebeca's beck and call. Speaking of Rebeca I hope whatever Media event she is planning blows up in her face.

Glad Bad Dad doesn't want Silvia back. She is so much happier now living with Lalito and Helena. I am glad Silvia isn't going back.

Thank you for the recap, Melinama. Yes, Madelaine, let's hope Silvia doesn't go back to her husband. You know, I don't think we've ever acknowledged what a good job that actor, Manuel Ojeda, does with this part. We all hate him SO much that the actor deserves a lot of credit... even though we'd never say anything good about the character. hiss

Thank you for recap, CHF.

Just how dense is Lucia, anyway? Renato directly told her, "I don't want to spend time with you!" How much more clear can he make it? And STILL she acts like they have a thing going!

A major theme of this TN is various methods to catch a pareja. Here is the list so far. Did I miss any?

* Lucía: fall into bed on the second date. Fail.
* Lucia, act II. Continue pursuing the guy who told you to get out of his face. Fail.
* Pati: Use lust to drive Santi to the altar. Fail.
* Santiago: say yes to everything Pati wants. Fail.
* Angela: A. be a sexpot. Fail. B. get him blind drunk. Success? TBD (to be determined).
* Eduardo: be a complete SOB, then wait for her to come groveling back. Fail.
* Plutarco: lies, fraud, extortion, etc. It worked with Antonia. w/Helena? TBD.
* Rebecca: A. be a sexpot. Fail. B. blackmail. TBD.
* Adriano: Fall in love. Be considerate. Romance her. Good method; wrong target.
* Mimi: temptation. TBD.

Thanks Melinama -- for the recap and for the reminder of tonight's time change.

Good analysis Paula. Lots of interesting pairings and attempted pairings.

Santi is driving me crazy right now. He & Lucia need to sit up, look around and find each other.

Adri & his attempts at seduction are so funny. I loved it when he sank to his knees and pressed his head to her -- abdomen. I was afraid the jig was up & hat he would discover something about Eva's anatomy which he didn't expect.

The previews look like the action is going to heat up tonight.

I was getting really annoyed for poor deluded Adriano, who appears to be genuinely schmoopy over Eva. Until I saw him canoodling with another gal! You can't say that's his daughter or niece. Now I'm not even rooting for him to get Mimi.

Mousse boy really looks ridiculous. Is that the style anywhere on the planet?

Idiomatic question: why did Helene's son say "si senior" to her - twice! Is he being silly?

Janet- Lalito's grandpa was in the Army, and Lalito always said yes, sir to him, like a subordinate would say to a superior. It stuck and he has always said this whether it's Bad Dad, Silvia or Helena.

First thanks for the recap! Also, thanks for the heads up on the time. More info: according to TVGuide Eva will be on until 8:30 followed by futbol.

Renato's hair I fear is the extreme of what I am seeing quite a bit of on TV: a modified "pompadour" of old. It was never a good look in the first place and the added dips and flips doesn't do much. :(

What I fear is that Silvia is going to get manipulated somehow back into her evil husband's life. I hope that he really likes the maid.

I absolutely love Adri's unrequited love quest of Eva. Her reactions are priceless. He has quite a taste for roses these days!

I was quite disappointed in Adriano when I saw the luscious chick curled on his lap -- but I gathered from their conversation that she was a kind of test -- since Eva keeps rejecting him he wanted to see if he could still get pleasure from another. She at least decided that he couldn't. All he did was talk about Eva all night.

Whew! I just caught up on a week's worth of recaps and comments. Sorry for my absence! I'll be pinch-hitting for tonight's early/jumbo episode, though.

So, now Helena is meddling in Eva's personal life. And you know what... Eva is almost sort of in a position to fire her for it. Kind of. (Not that she would.) I just think it's an interesting reversal.

Regarding Santi's marriage to Angelica - I can't confirm that it's true, but on General Hospital not too long ago they said that a Las Vegas wedding can be annulled if you were drunk when you said your vows. (Whether you "consummated" it or not is irrelevant.)

Another popular pareja-catching tactic: Stalking. Though I suppose it doesn't count as stalking if your intended, who keeps saying she only wants to be friends, doesn't find it odd or offputting that you're always showing up on her doorstep and in her office. (If Pluti were really as lonely and sad as he claims to be, a truly supportive friend would try to hook him up with professional help, not encourage his clingy lovesick behavior.)

Guera- I think you are so right about Adri. I was kinda mad he was going after younger women again, but when he kept talking about Eva all night, I figured he had it bad for Eva and wouldn't do anything with that woman.

Melinama - Your recap is a hoot.

I could just smack Lucia. Renata didn't just reject her - he was most cruel about it. So why in the world is she worrying about his feelings?

So glad that Bastardo is miserable. So why doesn't he hire a maid already? Maybe because he knows what he really needs is more than a laundress and dishwasher? Like someone who gives a crap about his dumba$$.

Ah Melinama...your recaps are just right for this busy brain...you hit the highlights and give us the big picture.

Like Güera, I was edgy when Adriana pressed his face to Eva's belly, but no harm done. I'm enjoying the actor so much, I'm willing for this pursuit to continue a long time.

Hearing the waves roll in and imagining the soft warmth all around, I wouldn't blame anybody for yielding to passion. Who can resist love on the beach? Well, just about everybody last night. Maybe the musicians can get something going.

Thanks for the recap, CHF.

Thanks, Melinama!

Well, I got a really good laugh when we panned from the huge cheesy valentine to Adriano with a rose in his teeth. That whole failed seduction was so funny.

I want to slap some sense into Lucia. Moussy has NEVER been that into her. One evening of strategically faked interest is nothing compared to multiple instances of cruel, blunt rejection. Get a clue! I want her and Santi together, but they both need to find their backbones first.

I thought Bastardo said he DID hire a maid; maybe it was that he was going to. I imagine he'll have to pay three times the going rate for anyone to put up with his crap.

Thanks for the recap!

And for the heads up about tonight's showtime. We'll have some time to brace ourselves for the next debate.

Thanks, Melinama! The recap made it possible to string together the bits I actually saw and make sense of the whole. All the mis-matched couples are almost Shakespearean.
La Paloma

Scheduling note: program guide shows Eva starting at 9:00 on the west coast.

Is the debate given a strict time frame, or is it like other special events that may run long or short and change the telenovela start time?

The changed time is not because of the debate - it's because of fútbol. At least that's what my tvguide says.

(However, yes, the debates have been following a reliable schedule so far. Post-debate coverage is at the discretion of each network, though.)

I'm not sure how I'm going to do this recap, watch the debate, and still get to bed at a decent hour. :-)

Maybe Santi and Lucia would be great together because neither has a spine. They could have happy little invertebrate children and live happily ever after.

Until someone confronts then that is. Santi and what's-her-name are funny, but almost painful to watch.
