Amor Bravío #53 (Uni 48) Mon 10/29/12

Capitulo 53: Unholy Alliances

Note:  This is a quick-and-dirty version due to the risk of power loss during the storm and my being tired from Halloween partying.  Back to usual form next week.

Lo del Pasado

El Diablo asks Alonssso about the status of his divorce only to get the response that anyone could have Camila but him. El Diablo laughs at Komodo Jr's attitude and uselessness.

Lo de Neuvo

Luzma's Room: She prays to Jesus for guidance. Camila arrives to check up on her and Luzma tells her that she doesn't know how to feel at the moment; like this is all happening to someone else. Camila tells her the story of the accident on the night of her despedida de solteros with Luis and how she felt like she was in a dark room with no exit and thought she would never feel anything again. Luzma tells her that Piedad doesn't want her to not have the baby. Camila tells her that only she can make the decision and reminds her that tests can be done to determine whether anything is wrong with it. Camila asks whether Luzma can come to love the baby despite it all; Luzma isn't sure. Dorotea enters to tell Luzma that Pablo is there to see her. She doesn't want to face him, but Camila tells her she will support her decision about the baby, whatever it is.

Iglesia: Piedad talks to the padre, realizing he knew something when Luzma talked about becoming a nun. He carefully avoids admitting that he knew about the rape from the confessional, reminding her that the important thing now is that Luzma have her care and support. Piedad is angry with Leoncerdo and (perhaps more) with herself for not seeing that there was something very wrong. She is conflicted about a lot of things. Padre Anselmo wisely reminds her that whatever pain she is in now, Luzma's is much much worse. The baby is an innocent, without fault of its making. This leads – almost predictably – to the padre's suggestion that Luzma give the baby up for adoption. Piedad seems to think this is the right thing. Tolentino enters to tell her that the gossip is already about that Leoncerdo is the guilty party. He offers his help. Piedad doesn't think it wise for him to see Luzma at the moment.

La Malquerida, Outdoors: We don't either because Pablo is with her now attempting to convince Luzma that what happened doesn't change his feelings for her. She doesn't believe herself worthy of him; everyone knows about this already and it is destroying her life. Pablo shows that he is a real man by telling her that this means nothing to him because he loves her and wants to take care of her. The poor girl is still convinced that they can't be together. “It's my uncle's. What if it's ill?”

Study: Mariano asks Camila about Luzma. Both are willing to give her all the help she needs. He is quite a stand-up guy; we can see how Pablo got to be the way he is. Camila writes two checques to him; one to pay back the salaries he paid out when she was in the hospital and one for his assistance, as he was also helpful when her uncle was in the hospital. He tries not to accept it and this becomes a playful game that could so easily be misinterpreted if the wrong person entered the room. He finally accepts it as the phone rings. It's Alonssso about a meeting they were to have and she missed. She apologises, explaining there was a problem at the ranch, but she is prepared to see him now. He agrees, and ends the call on a bite of his claw. [¡Salud!] As Camila hangs up the phone she tells him she suspects Alonssso of stealing the missing checque (which we hope she stopped payment on). Mariano pledges his continued help. These two have excellent rapport, but we know this isn't going where he would prefer it to.

Cell Block: Leoncerdo (still clad in the bloody shirt) yells his stinking head off, much to the annoyance of his young cellmate who tells him “If you were innocent you wouldn't be here” and reminds him that bad things happen to rapists in prison. [Si, escritores, por favor, un episodio como en Oz.] Leoncerdo grabs his arm and forces him against the back wall, which attracts the attention of the guards and/or cops. They move the other prisoner into another cell just as a lawyer arrives to see Leoncerdo. Leoncerdo asks if Alonssso or Dionisio sent him and gets the response that the man doesn't know what he's talking about.

La Malquerida, Outside: Pablo tries to explain his feelings to Luzma, who tells him she has to think. She's still too fragile for this.

Cabaña: Camila enters to see a heart-shaped mound of rose petals on the bed. After a little excited reaction she calls Viviana to ask her to come over to the ranch right away. Viviana agrees to, but Rafael insists upon accompanying her. Just as Camila ends the call and goes back to her computer Ximeana walks in with not only no apology for not knocking but an attitude that Camila expects her to knock.   She demands to know what Camila is doing and as Camila closes the computer she says it's about her divorce. As we predicted earlier Ximeana insists that she must have someone else if she is in such a hurry. Camila casually closes the bedroom door during this conversation, in which she tells her sister that this matter is none of her business. Finally she asks Ximeana about Bruno, telling her that perhaps it's a coincidence, but he sounds like Viviana's ex. Ximeana says she knows nothing of this (and she probably doesn't) and tries to go back to the subject of Camila's possible lover. The writer or the rancher? Camila tells her none of the above and continues about the bad vibe she got around Bruno. She will not have him around. Ximeana is pleased at this, even going so far as to hug Camila, which makes her suspicious. After Ximeana's flippant departure Camila asks Jesus “What can I do now?” She takes a little wicker basket out from under the desk, removes its contents (various medications of unknown type) and takes it into the bedroom, looking at the mound of rose petals. She clearly feels conflicted about leaving them there or removing them, finally filling the wicker basket with them.

Toluca Airport: Andres takes Augustina's suitcase out and escorts her out of the car. El Diablo arrives in his black SUV, driven by a stolid fellow named Omar, who has now assumed the same position for him as Julian. After making a show of being there to say farewell to Augustina, he gets Omar to follow her with her suitcase as he talks to Andres. He tells him that he will accompany Augustina to Las Vegas and that if anything comes up he is to call Omar. “One more thing” , which is that if Daniel Diaz Acosta turns up he is not to kill him, but he is not to let him get away.

Parlour: Camila gives instructions to Dorotea as Alonssso shows up. Little do either of them know that Ximeana is eavesdropping on their confrontation. She accuses him of removing the last checques from the book and perfectly forging her signature when she was in the hospital. He tells her she is crazy, denies having done it, and she tells him “Very well; we'll go to the bank and demand the videos of who cashed those checques.” He hands her a red folder containing the [completely faux] bills for the three million she is still trying to learn the whereabouts of, saying the tractor will be delivered in two months.  [Two months sounds ridiculously long to us.]  She glances at the folder briefly, then asks him whether he is aware of what happened with Leoncerdo the previous day. When he replies that he is she asks why Leoncerdo thought he or Hissadora would help him.

Toluca Airport: Augustina asks El Diablo whether Andres suspects they are traveling together. El Diablo asks why she's worried about a chauffeur's opinion. Isn't he paid to be discreet and wouldn't he be so in order to be well-paid? She comments on how discreet he is and wonders where Hissadora is. Right on cue El Diablo's cell phone rings with his non-escape call.  Hissadora tells him she hopes he will miss her in his bed in his absence; after he ends the call he tells Augustina that Hissadora is sick. The poor dupe falls for this and ultimately the two leave together.

Road back to the Ranch: As Andres drives back alone he thinks about how this situation is becoming too complicated and how he can't continue to put Camila at risk.

Toluca Airport: Augustina runs into the same woman who approached her during the charreadas and they briefly talk about the other woman's sister also investing. El Diablo lingers in the background, looking as impatient as ever.

Parlour: Alonssso says that possibly Leoncerdo thought he and his mother would help him because he was his boss for so long. He can't think of any other reason. Camila observes that Leoncerdo was very certain Alonssso would help him and is that not curious? Alonssso brushes it off, saying that nothing about “ese gente” is of any matter to him. All he wants now is to be paid for five years' service as administrator of the ranch. Camila tells him that when Mariano finishes auditing the books she will see. He insists she will eat her accusations when she sees he hasn't stolen anything. When pigs fly.

La Buenaventura, Study: Natalia is going through papers on the desk as Iago enters. With work as a pretext they start flirting. Before this gets anywhere Mariano enters, asking Natalia about some contracts. She says something and exits, leaving Mariano to scold Iago for possibly setting up Natalia to be his next conquest.

Parlour: Alonssso tries to derail Camila by going on about how she is no better than anyone else. She tells him she is comfortable with her decisions and doesn't understand what he's talking about. He continues to deny having stolen the checques and she tells him “Fine. I will go to the bank and ask to see the videos.” She leaves him alone (bad move) and Ximeana enters. He realizes she heard all of this and goes on about “Your sister is crazy.” She fesses up to him that she took the checques, only to have him demand to know why she let Camila accuse him. It was so she wouldn't be found out. An argument ensues in which he accuses her of being exactly like her sister (i.e., using him) to which she takes offense. He finally walks out on her.

La Buenaventura, Parlour: Bratgirl is having tea with Snootymom and they are now in cahoots about separating Pablo from Luzma. It looks like Snootymom will give her anything on a permanent basis. This will be very bad for that family.

Bulls running in the field. [¡Salud!]

Cabaña, Study: Viviana and Rafael enter with Camila. Rafael excuses himself to take a walk while the ladies talk, but Camila insists he stay. She describes the man who came to see Ximeana, confirming that he is Viviana's ex. Viviana is muy impactada, leading Camila to suggest that they move to a more secure location for the time being. In the meantime she will get Andres to help keep him away. Rafael is looking here for an opening to out him as an imposter, but Camila doesn't admit their relationship. Viviana looks afraid that he will.

Town: Andres and Amanda talk about the situation. Apparently Padre Anselmo knows people who can help him, but Andres is reluctant to involve anyone else. Amanda explains about the woman the neighbor spotted on the day of Padre Baldomero's death and he recognizes Hissadora in the description. He then explains about Augustina and El Diablo going to Las Vegas and the bad vibe he has about it. They then spot Ximeana and Alonssso arriving in separate cars and Ximeana trying to make up with him. Amanda is shocked at the idea that Alonssso is cheating on Camila with her own sister. Camila must be told! Andres tells her yes, but all in good time. At the same moment, Mariano arrives in the same intersection and observes the same face-sucking at the gate. His capetaz (or whoever) arrives and gets into the car. Mariano explains nothing and starts up the car, all the while observing Alonssso and Ximeana entering the parking gate attached to each other.

Cabaña, Study: Rafael says something about two days and Daniel's absence. He's not quite jumping off the diving board yet.

La Malquerida, Outside: Rudolfo, who is starting to adapt to his new position, concludes a conversation with another employee as Natalia arrives. She talks about how her mother wanted her to leave La Malquerida, thinking it was something about Leoncerdo, but she didn't want to. The banda music begins in the background as Rudolfo tells her it wouldn't be the same without her. He finally tells her that he is now the new capetaz and asks her to be his novia. [Choose him, Natalia; he's much nicer and handsomer than Iago.]

Cell Block: Piedad arrives to disown Leoncerdo. He is never to address her as “hermanita” and she is ashamed to share blood with him. What he has done to Luzma is unforgiveable.

La Malquerida, Outside: Natalia tells Rudolfo she has to think about it.

Guadalajara: Hissadora finds Juan Julian Acosta.

Urban- Thanks for getting this up for us, despite the storm troubles.

Yes Natalia, choose Rodolfo!! That Yago looks like bad news, and even his own brother thinks so.

I'm glad that Rafa didn't out D'Andres, but Dan was right that this is getting very complicated. The more complicated it gets, the harder it will be to explain to Camila and get her forgiveness.

Good for Pablo. I'm glad he spoke to Luzma, although it's too early and her emotions are too raw for her to make any decisions right now. I like how Cami said that if she decided not to have the baby, she would be rith there with her (at the abortion) holding her hand. But if she decides to have it, then she will not only provide emotional support, but also financial support.

Since he IS a Cahtolic priest, there was really no alternative that the Padre could provide other than adoption. It's not my religion, so I'm not going to judge. I'm just glad they're not saying that she HAS to keep and raise the baby.

Oh Gussy! Like a lamb to the slaughter. Looks like she and Dio get hitched in Vegas.

Two things-- DDA's dad's last name id Diaz, not Acosta. Acosta was his mom's last name. Camila suggested that she could either 1) Have Bruno blocked from entering the ranch, or 2) Have D'Andres or the other ranch guys keep him there the next time he comes, so that Cami can call Vivi over to confront him in a secure place. Vivi agreed to option 2 because she feels like she has things to say to him, and she felt stronger during their last confrontation in the parking lot.

Got Univision back, but they had news coverage instead of the episode. Did manage to watch the Passion Pit in another way.

Thanks for filling that in, Vivi. I was so tired from the Halloween partying I missed that detail on Camila's way to handle Bruno.

Whom I wish would drag Ximeana by the hair back to Monterrey.

In case anyone is interested, here is the Halloween party I attended on Saturday night.

Wow Urban! Your friends really do Halloween right. But no one came as a woman in a binder? Perhaps that's just a very DC thing to do. :)

No, and nobody came as a politician either.

That party was a combination of a dozen Meetup groups. I left early when it got too crowded. I think this needs a bigger venue next year.

Mistake in the above post; that was the Friday party. The Saturday party was different people and we also had a double for Ileana.

Thanks UA. Hope everyone in the affected states are safe and dry. well I hope that Pablo takes Luzma with him to go abroad and leave this town for now. Take 5 years as in Refugio. This is the only way to bring back the smile in her face, to be together with Pablo, the man she loves and be able to love him without fear. my heart really breaks and aches for her and Pablo. On a lighter mood, I need to ask, do the ranchers really wear those uniforms like what D'andres and Rodrigo wear, complete with the large hats?just asking.

Thanks, UA. Looks pretty complete to me! Thanks so much.

Lost power at about 10:15, just as I was copying down with my TN despite the wind roaring all around us. Hope everyone in Caray, Caray group is fine.

Camila and Mariano do get on. Easy to see how misunderstandings may ensue.

Good work, UA! Thanks also to ViviDC for filling in a couple of conversations my "alternative resource" with bad audio left me wondering about. Loved your line:

"while observing Alonssso and Ximeana entering the parking gate attached to each other"

I hope you survived and you'll let us know when your power is back on. I saw and heard about some horrific surge destruction and fires! I have no idea about where you are in relation to the flood waters or Manhattan/the NJ coastline. So like a Mama Metiche I am really worried.

I'm in northern Queens where the ground is higher. The rain wasn't hard here and we didn't get flooded; I got off lucky so far. In half an hour I'm going to start calling friends. Didn't get much sleep last night.

UA, so glad you're safe. Do you have power? You're Caray friends have been thinking about you all night. I've been wondering about Ann-NYC as well. Hope your building is OK!

What a mess!

Just read through UA's recap again and kept coming back to Pablo.
His character and his acceptance of this terrible situation with Luzma is different from anything I recall seeing in a novela, at least among younger characters. It's a great twist in this sordid storyline. It will be very interesting to see where it goes as they both mature through this situation.

I keep wanting to shake Piedad. But I'm happy to see this actress (remember her in the EP CS?) get a good role.

Can't wait to see what kind of information Isadora uncovers about Daniel's father.

Jardinera and UA - Thanks for the terrific Friday and Monday recaps. Finally all caught up.

Enjoyed catching up with the comments too. Hope all Eastcoasters are okay. Thankfully no major downed trees in my pueblo, but there's no public transportation until 2 p.m. today.

I'm hoping D'Andres and Camila aren't caught like Xi-Alonso. Would hate for Mariano and everybody else to tsk-tsk about Camila.

Bruno is an idiot. Why lie about his identity when Camila could easily find out he's Vivi's ex? Vivi hates him for the obvious, but she is probably also asking herself, "How in hell could I have fallen for this guy?"

I'm angry at Piedad too, but pedazo de mierda has had her brainwashed for a long time, making her feel she needed his protection. In fact, since she started working at Malquerida for Don Daniel, she needed him for nada.

Pablo's mother is such a hypocrite. What in the world did Don Daniel see in her? I'm thinking they didn't have an affair, but she simply took advantage when he was drunk after a party and he didn't even remember afterward. Otherwise, it seems he would've added up the months and figured he could be the baby's daddy just as he did (apparently erroneously) with Daniel.

Hi everyone. Power is back on, it's still rainy out, but no more wind. Yard clean up begins once things dry out a bit. Fig trees are ok.

Urban--You are a real trooper. If this was an off the cuff recap, we can't tell the difference. It's thorough and detailed and entertaining.

I caught one thing about Mariano's second cheque. I thought it was not for the time the tio was in the hospital, but for Mariano's work as "volunteer" administrator. He was doing it out of the goodness of his heart (and to get indebted to Cam), but Cami did not want to be put in that position and didn't want it to look as though she were taking advantage of him. Any way, horsing around ensued, all in good fun--but poor Mariano will think the attention she's paying him is as hombre and not amigo.

About the cheque Xi wrote. It had to have been cashed because that's the money Xi gave Bruno. I'm still convinced she cashed the check and got money for him rather than giving him the check to cash. I think that's why she 'fessed up so fast to Alonsonocashhoy when she overheard that they were going to see the video of who came to the bank to cash the check. If it had been Bruno, what did she care--unless she was afraid Bruno'd rat on her. My what lies we can get into when we practice to deceive...

What was it that made Rafael stop before he outted Daniel. Was it Vivi's looks or that when Cami was saying how important Andres was to the ranch operations and to her and her whole family, the revelation was not Rafa's to make.

Obviously, Nana must have done the majority of the raising of those boys--with parents like that. Though Iago may be the "bad seed" of the bunch, he doesn't seem to be evil.

Thanks to the UA and Jardinera and all the commenters for giving me the heads up on what's going on until I'm able to watch again. I think it might be soon.

Hope our East Coasters stay safe. Last night when I was watching the news they talked like it isn't over yet. Haven't seen the news today so don't know any updates.

Nanette

Anita: I thought Xi gave Bruno cash, too.

Glad that you're OK. It was frightening to see on the news, I can't even imagine what it must be like to live through it.

Anita- Glad the fig trees made it ok. I also think that Xi made the check out to cash and cashed it herself. Will Al actually agree to take the fall for her?

I think it was the way Cami spoke about Andres that stopped Rafa from spilling the beans, although I hope that he was picking up on the looks Vivi was giving him too. You're right about what Cami's second check to Mariano was for. Poor guy. He doesn't stand a chance and doesn't even know who the competition is.

Niecie- I'm happy to hear you're ok. Other than it being her sister that he's boinking, there really is no difference between what Al is doing with Xi, and what Cami is doing with D'Andres. I wonder who society will judge more harshly when the truth comes out.

I think this is the first heroine I have seen having an affair-- sleeping with one man while still married to another (by the Church no less!).

UA thanks for your recap in spite of the storm. Glad to hear you were not hit that hard and I hope things stay that way!

Vivi thanks for Cam's statement about the other Vivi's options.

So why is Dan keeping a lip on Alonso and Ximena? Couldn't this info expedite the divorce and have Cam give him NO MONEY at all?

How many of us think Rafa will spill the beans on Dan? He's acting really dumb and the stakes are very high. Anita I think Rafa backed off b/c Cam didn't confess her love for Dan but stressed his importance to the whole ranch. This may have stop Rafa for now but I think its just a matter of time.

Should we put out the anvil alter for Gussy? If Dio is marrying her, he's going to harm her, right?

Thanks very much, UA, both for the excellent recap and for your thoughtfulness in arranging to have it posted automatically.

I'm glad to hear that you live in Queens, not in lower Manhattan with all the flooding and loss of power.

Getting back to Unreal Life, I was sure that someone (Alonso, Dandres, Ximena, etc) would come in while Camila and Mariano were playfully battling about the check she was trying to give him.

I'm not looking forward to tonight's episode. It certainly looked as if Gullible Gussie will be marrying Diabolical Dionisio. I'm hoping that perhaps the avances pranksters are playing with us again. Ojalá.

Karen, that's a really good question about Dan's motives in keeping quiet about Alonso and Xi. Perhaps Dan is afraid that he might have to testify, thereby calling attention to himself and his very questionable status (he is, after all, an escaped fugitive wanted by the authorities in Chile). ??

Good that so many people have power back and minimal problems. I just took a walk through my North Jersey neighborhood and there's a lot of wind damage to trees and houses. I feel so lucky. The news from other parts of the metro area is grim and people's stories so heartbreaking.

Which is why unreality seems so attractive right now! The slight of hand with the check is another example of good plotting and complicated points to keep track of. My interpretation was that when Bruno refused the check, Ximena took it and cashed is -- even as she has her mother off buying more stuff for her in Las Vegas.

As for the second check, I also thought it was for Mariano's work but how grateful she was for him helping at the hospital. I managed to miss the part involving her uncle; I thought she was indicating that she appreciated him getting the blood donors lined up. In any case, it is one more piece of evidence of Camila's good character that she would want to pay for work done for her on the ranch.

Rafael would be a real idiot to out Daniel now. Good friends are hard to come by and that would be some payback to a guy who once saved his life.

And hasn't Viviana already said "Dude, she's just not that into you"?

As annoying as she is, I don't want to see anything happen to Augustina other than Getting A Clue. However I can also see the possibility of her getting arrested for fraud in another 20 episodes or so.

Of course, now that she is in this level of danger and Camila suspects El Diablo's motives for becoming administrator, this is the perfect time for her to know what her friends know. Of course, this also endangers her relationship with Andres/Daniel.

No damage in the neighborhood that I know of, but I'm having trouble reaching other people.

Thanks UA, like the rest of the commenters, I couldn't tell that you were trying to be brief, it was very detailed to me.

I'm happy that Mariano saw Xi and Al together. He won't necessarily feel the need to be quiet about it.

My cc's today wrote Yago's name as Chago.

I thought it was cute when Cam didn't want to mess up the heart, but knew she had to get rid of it, and she kept going back and forth.

About the tractor taking 2 months to get, that is actually true. I've worked at places that would order a large tractor or other piece of equipment and there are so many features that are available to get, you basically have to custom order it and it will take that long.

I've said this before and I'll ask again, does anyone think that Dorotea looks like Natalia? When I first saw Dorotea, I actually thought it was Nat with her hair braided.

What was the point of Aggie talking business with that woman at the airport?

So is Isadora planning to team up with Juan Diaz to try to lay claim to the inheritance? I wonder what she has up her sleeve.

Cathy- Like Urban, I also think Gussy is being set up big time to take the fall for fraud. Now that she's going to the States for this certification, even more of the local ladies will be flocking to her to buy into her pension plan. Big anvil ahead for Gussy!

I see, you think it's just showing more ladies investing in something that will very likely not happen and Aggie will be held responsible for taking the money. But if she ends up marrying Dion, won't he also be held accountable?

Cathy- We haven't seen Dion sign anything or put his name to anything that Gussy is selling. He hasn't spoken to any of these ladies. There is no proof that he's involved in any way. And since Gussy pretended she was traveling alone when she ran into that lady, Gussy won't even be able to point to that. Dion is very smart about covering his tracks. Remember that it's only Al's signature on the contract with the tourism developers too. He's a very good con man and great at finding scape goats.

I thought Bruno did take the envelope from Xi.

Nanette- Bruno did take the envelope, after being scornful about the amount. The confusion is that at first we thought there was a check in the envelope, but now it seems that Xi had already gone to the bank and cashed the check and gave Bruno an evenlope with cash. That makes more sense, because no way would Bruno accept a check that could be traced to him if he tried to cash it.

At first when we had this discussion about check vs cash, I thought it had to be a check because it wasn't a wad of money. $20,000 would be a big wad. But it makes sense that it was an envelop with money in it, although it didn't look very thick. Not sure how that could happen with that large amount, unless my cc's were wrong and it was pesos not dollars. Are there big denomination bills in pesos?

Thanks UA for this great recap despite everything going on in your real world.

1) LMAO (laughed my a$$ off) at Dio's comment to D'Andres that if Daniel Diaz Acosta turns up he is not to kill him. That reminded me of that really funny way Ms 5 ft expressed a similar incident in which Dan was cautioned not to kill himself.

2) I can understand Piedad not wanting her daughter to have an abortion. Abortions are not 100% safe and perhaps that is the reason she would rather that Luzma have the baby and put it up for adoption than to risk having complications from an abortion and at the same time not go against their religious beliefs.
Note: My opinion is non political, non religious and not presented to initiate a debate).

3) Personally I think there is a big difference between what Al and Xi's situation and Cami and D'Andres. I think that society will judge Al and Xi more harshly simply because she is betraying her sister. That probably won't look too good in the eyes of society. On the other hand, everyone knows that Cami's marriage was not consumated and that she's filing for divorce so that affair won't be judged as harshly. Besides, since Cami's affair is only known to a few close friends, she'll probably be divorced before it comes to light. Finally, don't forget that Cami and D'Andres has the novela gods on their side. They will definitely come out smelling like roses.

4) Vivi, you said "DDA's dad's last name id Diaz, not Acosta. Acosta was his mom's last name". So my question is why did the man who answered the door for Isa say that he was Dan's father if he isn't Sr Diaz?

Foxy- The only thing Isa asked is, "Are you the father of Daniel Diaz Acosta?" when the man opened the door, and he said yes. We don't know his full name yet, but his last name has to be Diaz if he's Dan's dad. He is Mr. Diaz. He isn't Mr. Acosta as written in the recap.

Vivi: thought so on both counts: Took it and it was cash. Thanks for clearing that up. How's the weather where you are? Are you still getting wind/rain?

It's pretty calm now. Wet and cold, but that's it.
