Amorcito Corazón Discussion #139-143 Oct. 29-Nov. 2
I have to admit I enjoy the younger Maris and their silent treatment of their Dad. He tries to talk with them about his insane marriage and asks for forgiveness. He seems to be making headway but Manny’s presence destroys the moment; actually in the past, EWM had Marifer calling her mom; she now realizes how awful her tia now madrastra is. Fer wonders why Marifer called her a traitor and gets snowed by EWM’s latest lie. He runs into Isa throwing away their mementos but he retrieves them.
Adelita’s crush on Willy becomes the newest reason for Lucia to yell at him, at least its over the phone so he doesn’t get slapped. He tells Moncho, who naturally is upset by this revelation. Adelita comes to the gym for clarification b/c of the night Moncho came to see her (but she thought he was Willy). Moncho tells the boys about his problem. Later Adelita has a conversation w/God about leaving the convent for Willy.
EWM finally threatens the younger Maris; we all knew this would happen sooner rather than later. I hope nothing serious happens to them since EWM most likely killed their mother/her sister and I guess it was all in her plan to get Fer.
Marisol learns she gets to go back to school but still refuses to see Juancho. Sigh. The Maris make a deal with EWM: they will treat her decently if Minnie comes back.
Bad stuff – rIcky is going to pull something at his mother’s house and gets Barf to help.
When is silly Mayela going to see the light and run as far away from Jaibo as possible? She is still very ill and he still won’t help.
F5 continues his affair. Jorrible contracts rIcky; hopefully not to harm the latest owner of the statue. Doris give Jaibo more money and Manny gets tickets for the honeymoon. Lucia continues to give Willy a hard time and remains in denial about their hug.
On the plus side, the previews show Fer being unable to perform his husbandly duties.

So, Doris now knows where Jaibo is staying...why doesn't she send the police to pick him up? Too worried he'll spill that she isn't really pregnant, I guess. I wish that plotline would be over. It's been long enough. I'm ready for Doris to move on to her next phase.

It was pretty funny when Fer was sitting in his car remembering the flirty skirty moment when he first saw Isa, and then she walked into the garage and got her heel stuck in the grate and he was begging the universe to turn the air on and it happened.
Must say, though, it's a VERY odd construction detail to have air vents in the floor of a garage like that...not to mention weird that the builder wouldn't use a grating with narrower bar spacing in an area where people walk, often in heels. I mean right in the grating catalogs there are recommendations of which bar gratings to use in places where people might walk in heels, so that they don't get stuck. Did Fernando's out-of-control sloppy constructora build this place?
And yes, it is ridiculous that he thinks Isa should be clinging to their relationship when he not only got married to someone else, but to someone who has actively antagonized Isa and trash-talked her to Fer the entire time they've known each other.

Our good hearted hero Moncho changes Beba’s tire and she encourages him as he doubts he’s guapo. Listen to her Moncho! Beba’s pep talk seems to have worked b/c Moncho now has confidence.
Marisol finally learns about what Juancho did for her so she feels stupid about slamming the door in his face. She and Lucia go to see him at the gym. While they gush over one another, Willy waves to Lucia. Marisol explains she loves Juancho but has to stay w/Knuckles a little while longer; friends this a bad idea. And as predicted Barf overhears Marisol in raptures about Juancho. Aren’t the writers tried of letting this awful little girl manipulate almost all those around her? Heavens knows I am.
Eye/brain bleach alert – Fer and EWM go shopping for their luna de miel. Oh and what are the odds, Isa goes shopping at the same place. Fer tries on leopard print speedo. Isa snatches his clothes and puts them in another stall. Hijinks ensue with Fer thinking he has been robbed; he leaves wearing the speedo and the a large towel as he and EWM try to get a taxi on the street. They get home and try to fool around but fail. Ha. He calls Mr. C and tells him he believes he’s impotent; Mr. C. calls the lying, cheating creep (aka his other co-padre) who is with blondie. Urgent meeting with the boys.

Jorrible is such a greedy fool. If he'd just PAID the guy the price they agreed to, he could have had the statue, free and clear and legal, for a fraction of its real value. He could have made a lot of money on it without worrying about legal issues. But NO, he has to be his thuggy self and try to steal it. I am so anxiously anticipating his downfall.

Thanks Karen, super recap. I am also weary of the Doris-fake-pregnancy plot line. However I did have a chuckle when Marisol was telling her how she should be more tired just like her own mom was when she was that far along.
Also weary of that cheatin' bum Felipe. I hope this girlfriend burns him but good.

Hi Karen, thanks for the Martes recap. It was a cute episode and I enjoyed Fer's torture, and um, dressing room scene. He truly did look embarrassed. I thought Isa was gutsy to steal his clothing but good for her!! I also liked the scene with him and his buds when they were giving him a pep talk.
Oh goodie! It looks like someone has finally figured out Jorrible is a thief. I can't wait to see him get stung.

Some thoughts on Wednesday
Little by little the baddies are getting outed. Now Pancho has seen Mauricio lip-locked with Barfa & later is introduced to him as Marisol's boyfriend.
Pancho stepped in for Doris & took the girls on a skating outing. They were all so cute on the rink -- especially Lu Chong.
Beba's boyfriend shows up (and it's not business this time) & catches Beba & Moncho in the bedroom -- but it's not like he old Willy business she quickly assures him. She's helping Moncho with a makeover. He does look suave with slicked back hair & Beba's dead husband's double breasted suit. My favorite moment? When Moncho tried the dapper moves in the mirror. He's so cute. I'm still mad that this actor's character didn't get the girl on Gancho.
Jorrible's curse is still working (Yay) and there will be no lovemaking in the Acapulco lovenest. The best part -- he got wracked up twice by his own overconfidence and arrogance. OK so how does fate intervene to keep Fer & Manwitch from making it in the cama? I guess we need to stay tuned.

I agree the Gancho character (Arnoldo, was it?) deserved a better ending...although I confess I did love Rolu, despite his many flaws. Awesome Ximena just needed to duplicate herself.

When Beba said she was polishing Moncho up and giving him confidence and fine manners, he just pooh-poohed the idea. He didn't feel the need to throw in a lot of insults like SOME PEOPLE would have. Did Doris convince Jaibo to go to the casa hogar and pretend he was a good guy? And then Lucia and the others lades ended the episode in a tug-of-war with Mayela being the object. Doris's pregnancy scam needs to stop NOW. She knows Jaibo will be the death of Mayela and her baby.
I agree, Doris needs to realize this has gone way too far, tell the truth, get Jaibo thrown in jail, and figure something else out.
If she thought about this for longer than "I want baby!", she would realize the blackmail will NEVER end. She seems to believe she just needs to get that kid in her arms someplace away from everyone where she can claim she delivered, and it will all be good, but Jaibo will keep bleeding her for everything she has as long as he's alive. She would never have any peace.

I was just watching Thursday's episode, and what was that thing that Manuela and Fer were eating? Some sort of flaming seafood orb? It looked very 1960's with the pineapple and skewers and all. So cool that it made Fer break out in hives. Saved by the rash!

The scene between Fer & Isa where they agreed to split the territory He above at the pool with Manuela and she below on the beach with Jorge was amusing -- especially when Fer said he liked the idea of himself on top and her below.
It was even funnier when each of them had to wheedle their partner into doing as they had agreed -- since Manuela wanted to go to the beach and Jorge wanted to stay at the pool.
My other favorite scene was when Willy & Adelita returned to the casa hogar after he helped her home with her heavy bag and he told her to go in alone because Lucia would get mad if she saw him. Then he did a spot on imitation of an angry Lucia -- while the queen of Rome herself listened behind him.
But then Beba & Moncho were very funny as she continued his charm lessons. He was very cool when he met Willy & Adelita on the street. He kept telling himself to act with confidence -- and it worked. It also seems to have worked on Adelita -- she noted how handsome he looked in a suit.
Very funny episode. And tonight's encounters at the romantic beach dinners looks interesting.

My other favorite scene was when Willy & Adelita returned to the casa hogar after he helped her home with her heavy bag and he told her to go in alone because Lucia would get mad if she saw him. Then he did a spot on imitation of an angry Lucia -- while the queen of Rome herself listened behind him.
But then Beba & Moncho were very funny as she continued his charm lessons. He was very cool when he met Willy & Adelita on the street. He kept telling himself to act with confidence -- and it worked. It also seems to have worked on Adelita -- she noted how handsome he looked in a suit.
Very funny episode. And tonight's encounters at the romantic beach dinners looks interesting.

The arriba/abajo banter was very funny. Fer still doesn't get it, though...the problem is that he is with Manwitch! Somehow he seems to think he can have it both ways. Wait, no, he doesn't think.
When Poncho leaned in for a kiss I was so hoping he would finally be successful, but no, Doris shut it down again. Sigh. At least she is finally realizing her baby plan is nuts and doomed to failure.
Moncho is the best. I love his scenes with Beba. She could stand to change her teaching technique a little, though. I mean, who can make charming, witty conversation when simply ordered to do so, from zero? It's hard to be put on the spot like that with no lead-in. But once Moncho stopped trying to "perform" and just talked to her he was charming.
So Fer has a seafood allergy, too, or was it just a panic reaction to the thought of being with Manuela? Isa had an allergic reaction and ended up in the clinic the first time she and Fer tried to get romantic at a hotel. The writers keep recycling. Maybe Jorge will choke on nuts next?

¡Qué divertido! I keep wondering how many ways the writers can find to keep the prospective parejas apart. It is amusing to watch. Yes-- recycled ideas like a seafood reaction from Fer and a passed out borracha in Manuela -- but the coconut hit to Jorrible's noggin was a nice touch.
Isa & Fer sailing off in a boat which they were too wrapped up in each other (literally) to notice when it slipped its mooring was another somewhat trite but adorable touch. It was a bit odd how quickly Isa gave herself over to her feelings after all that resistance, but hey, the lovemaking was lovely.
Best of all was their return to partners who had only just begun to miss them. And the tall tales they told to explain their absence were fun.

Guera- Yes, Friday's episode was fun. There were two laugh out loud moments for me-- 1) When Jorrible got hit on the head and knocked out cold by the coconut; and 2) When Isa explained her absence to Jorrible by saying she got kidnapped by gypsies while searching for him. And he believed it! LOL!
Friday's episode was terrific. I don't think I FFed anything, and in fact I rewound a couple of times. Jorrid's noggin conk for example. So glad that Fer and Isa hooked up.
When Jorge leaned up against that palm trunk I just knew that he was going to get hit on the head with a coconut, but I didn't know he was going to look up and see it happen LOL! That was soooooo funny.
Fer and Isa! How hopeless they are. They spend a romantic night of lovemaking together knowing the other is their "only one", but then they just blandly return to their partners and act as if nothing happened???? Ridiculous! Uggggh!
Really, Isa, you have NO idea whose hands those could be in the cosmic cama dream? Give me a break!

I forgot about the cosmic cama dream. You're right Audrey. Those were so obviously Fer's hands & not jorge's. The look on her face when Isa woke up next to Jorge looked like she knew deep down that he was not the one.

That was a fun episode, but it's kind of a bummer they were in such a hurry to get back, and that they didn't immediately dump their worse halves. I thought they should have hung out and played castaways for awhile.
Even besides knowing that she isn't in love with him, I can't fathom why Isa has stuck with Jorrid all this time. He's nasty. He didn't tip the bellhop, he's rude to the hotel staff, he's overbearing, ugh.
I loved Fer barely trying to wake Manuela, then saying, "oh, well, I'm hungry" and heading off to the romantic dinner alone.
