Fun! Fun! Fun! Thank you, amiga!

I love all the side-by-sides. I vote for Ernesto LaGuardia and Donny Osmond as the best lookalikes.

Alberto Agnesi (Quiqui)'s curls look especially delicious in this picture. He's got in less product, making them that much more finger twirly.

Name dropping warning: I placed a nanny with Christopher Reeve and his wife, Dana, back in the day. Anyone want my autograph?

On my way to a Jazz game. How coincidental is it that I am wearing the same shirt that Marlene Favela has on in this picture?

Rosemary la Otra

I'm glad you added these. The most striking to me is Piedad and Linda Gray. They look like twins.

OMG! more fun....

from Rosa Diamante - the actress Luciana Silveyra who plays Margaret Bridges ... she reminds me of Susan Sullivan from Falcon Crest years.

from El Rostro de la Venganza - dunno actress' name, but she plays Ezequiel's mother-in-law (or ex).... looks like Linda Lavin.

Wow, those are some amazing likenesses there! Great photo choices.

For me, Arturo Carmona is channeling Richard Gere.

Great idea UA. Never thought of Wm. Levy looking like Marlon Brando but in that picture yes. The mouth especially. I always saw Levy as Brad Pitt (back when Brad was cute, not now!).

I agree with CathyX...Piedad and Linda Gray have exactly the same mouth.

Rosemary la Otra...I want to hear more about the nanny placing. Were you in the business at one time?

Rosemary, can you tell us what they were like?

My apologies to all if the formatting of the page is off; I know that Livia and Emma are not side by side despite that they appear so when I'm in editing mode.

JudyB, when Levy's hair is long he looks more like Brad Pitt in his prime. Both of them look better with serious hair. As to Brando, somebody mentioned that last time so I looked for a photo of the young Brando y viola.

Judy and UA
Yes, I ran a nanny agency for 22 years. I placed girls from Utah into homes in New York. They lived-in for a year. I slowed it down about 4 years ago to care for my dad with Alzheimers. He died last year and instead of going back to it full time I decided to close it. Enough is enough. The thrill was over. So now I am working 3 part-time jobs with autistic children; hence, my limited daytime computer access.

Christopher Reeve was so nice. He played a song for me on his piano over the phone. Obviously this was before his accident. They lived in Bedford Hills, New York and were a happy family. Together they had the one little boy, Will, but Christopher had two older kids from a previous marriage. Dana has also since died. It's just so sad.

Thanks for asking.

R la Off to pick my daughter up at the airport.

Wow Rosemary la Otra...that's a big responsibility. And then you took on an even bigger one with your dad. I can tell from that and your part-time jobs that you have a really big heart (I already knew about the sense of humor!).

I can remember being so horrified learning that Christopher Reeve's widow had lung cancer (and didn't smoke) and was going to die leaving the little fellow an orphan. Some families seem to get way more than their share of sorrow.

Have fun with your daughter. I assume this is the drop dead gorgeous one that was in one of your pictures. She could be in telenovelas.

Thanks, UA! Love these! You have quite the eye.

R la O, I assume your blouse is decorated with tiny basketballs. Or perhaps real ones.

Urban- Thanks for posting part two of these. Yes, Yolanda and Linda could be twins!

RlaO- So impressed with the work you do. How do you find the time to play with us? :) Have fun with your daughter.

Oooh! More new photos! I am so glad you found that picture of Mia Michaels. She looks even more like Leticia C than I'd envisioned.

You amigas are all so sweet. I like the little guys I work with. Fortunately, I work one-on-one with them, so it isn't too demanding. The job I wish I had is Vivi's. Seriously. Extreme jealousy over here, Vivi.

I was actually picking my daughter up FROM her trip. She still lives with us. Trust me...when she moves to Iowa ON CHRISTMAS DAY (who does that to her mom? I guess a girl whose boyfriend only has 2 days off to fly in on the 24th to drive back with her on the 25th and make it to basketball practice by the 26th) you will all be hearing from me plenty. I will be especially needy, so please let's hope The Pit is over by then and we are all enthralled with our new TN.

Blue - I don't think there is room on that Marlene Favela blouse for even tiny basketballs. But, looking at her, you do think "basketballs". It doesn't fit the same on me. My basketballs are way lower. They may look more like pears than basketballs. I mean, after work when the bra comes off I give real meaning to my Pear Robe.

UA thanks again for more weekend fun. Your photo selections are very compelling.

R la O - wow, what an interesting and caring series of jobs you've had. It is always amazing to me the type of people we have on our blog. Enjoy your daughter!

Thank you, Urban! Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Levy and Brando...oh my...THOSE LIPS!!!!

Best of all...MY Juan Soler of the smile to die for.

Thank you!!!

Another Anon

Another Anon, can we share Soler? I love a man with an overbite. And I'm not free every night anyway.

Jaja, R la O! On me it would be the apricot robe.

Blue Lass...well...ONLY because you are such an artistic talent will I share MY Juan with you! The man is beautiful...especially in suits!!

Another Anon

He does rock the traje, doesn't he? :D

Fantastic pictures Urban. I would'n ever think of some of them.

I don't know the lady next to Lety Calderon but them do look alike alot. The Verónica Castro and Joan Collins comparison was popular back in the 80's.

I do have to comment that Ernesto Laguardia has played main galán many tiimes during the 80's and 90's, to heroines like Adela Noriega, Lucero or Daniela Castro. He does look like Danny Osmond, though.

Jarocha

Jarocha - That look alike of Lety's is Mia Michaels, a frequent judge and choreographer on So You Think You Can Dance. Her dances are amazing and have won several awards.

RLO--Why is it you always have me spitting coffee when I read your comments. This time it was a precious cup of Jamaican Blue Mountain coffee, freshly ground, tastefully enhanced with sugar and half 'n half.

UA--thanks so much for the illustrated versions of CarayCaray. I hope you never run out of temas, because I really look forward to them.

I adore Arturo Carmona and to be paired with another drop-dead gorgeous, but dearly departed hunk, wow. But I also adore Marcelo Cordoba (one of a kind, I guess). And TBLMOE has NO twin either--although Cristian de la Fuente is gaining on him in my book. I didn't think anyone would replace Juan Soler in my heart and the pit of my stomack until Cristian came along in Amor Bravio. He makes the earth tremble beneath my feet, no I take that back, it's me trembling and my feet are rocking.

Ernesto I only know from Alborada and remember how un-galan he was, but loyal, loving, endearing and yes, attractive....and I love his voice. Can't believe he's 53--same age as Guy Ecker.

Do we have a look-alike for Silvia Navarro? Or is she also one of a kind?

Thanks UA. Your weekend discussion groups are such a treat.

As for other lookalikes, from the first moment I saw René Strickler in Ramona, I thought he looked like Robert Redford, I think that the actress who plays Begoña in AdP looks like Tracey Ullman, and I think that the actor who plays Tio Daniel in AB looks like Andy Kaufman might look if he were alive today.

Anita, I've mentioned before that Sylvia Navarro reminds me of Lauren Bacall.

Carlos

Blue Lass...oh my yes, Juan Soler certainly does rock the traje!!

I also love his hair... what beautiful hair!

Agree that Begonya looks like Tracey Ullman. Thank you for jogging the memory. :)

Another Anon

Begonia looks more like Kimmie Hibler from Full House to me.

Carlos--I missed the comparison. I'll agree with you in the looks and hair dept., but Silvia doesn't have Lauren Bacall's sultry, come hither, 1940's look and Lauren Bacall never talked as fast as Silvia does.

I just watched the first episode of Amores Verdaderos on youtube, and the guy who plays Erika Buenfil's husband looks like Orson Bean. That's not a spoiler, is it?

It depends on what you mean by the word "spoiler". You know Orson Bean was in the last few seasons of Desperate Housewives.

Blue - Did AV look like something you'd try to watch?

Wow. That's a tough one.

On the plus side, it has some of my favorite actors, the setting is beautiful, and no one mumbles (except, annoyingly, Francisco Gattorno.)

On the minus side, Cynderella is right: it is beyond stupid. It started right out in a mire of cliches and can only get worse. It's probably just a question of whether or not it can transcend melodrama and move straight into comedy like El Tal.

Of course, CarayCaray will make it comical, whether the monkeys intended it that way or not.

Uy...I'm not even sure we're going to be able to line up 5 recappers for this one...but perhaps I am underestimating the effects of withdrawal.

Do you all know what's going to replace Refugio? That's in final weeks too.

The replacement for Refugio shouldn't be a 2 hour timeslot this time around. I would consider watching that one instead. Basically, I will go wherever the patio is.

Maybe FC & Blanca's will be ready--Porque el Corazon Manda. I heard it was a comedy...FC did great in Ladron que roba a ladron, but he wasn't the comedian in that one.

Thanks for all the hard work UA, these posts are always so entertaining and you always go like 'hadn't thought of that but so true!' i always thought of LaGuardia and Osmond pairing, but the others mostly surprised me. Keep up the great work. i wish i had all that time.
but with three kids with special situations, one of them autistic, leaves little time for these. not sure i will ever have time to do dialogue translation of any other novela like CS, Cafe or YSBLF.

UA, once again I am completely impressed by your mad comparison skills. I know that some of the lookalikes were suggested by your fans but I trust you found the absolutely perfect pictures on your own. Well done amiga! I have shared your post with many friends who are amazed as well. These are FUN!!!

I can't think of a look-alike for Silvia yet and there are a few others of both sexes who seem to be unique as well.

Maybe the Telemundo group has someone who can come up with the next gallery of folks from their series who have secret twins.

I think Nora Salinas looks like Lesley Ann Warren, don't you?

Does anyone know when they will show Cachito de Cielo here in the States? I'm already mourning the upcoming demise of my Un Refugio Para El Amor. Amorcito Corazon should last about 3 more months by my count.

Rosemary La Otra, that isn't a shirt that Marlene Favela is wearing, it's a couple Playtex with Wings and some dental floss... :P

Chispa! Good to know you're still watching Refugio. But we miss hearing from you on the blog line.

Chispa, I'm wondering if we'll get Cachito here, since it is ending early in Mexico -- Wikipedia says, "due to the controversy of Pedro Fernández portraying a priest, and low ratings." Not sure what that means.

oh no, no Cachito? Darn!

I thought it seemed rather odd that they were having the main love interest be a priest, but what better way to insure he never gets the girl, right? I'll have to ask my sister-in-law what the scoop is with it in Mexico. If I find out anything interesting I will pass it along. : )
