Amor Bravío #61 (Uni 56) Fri 11/9/12 It’s Five Card Draw So Ante Up: Team Dio Forces the Bet; Team Isadora Bets Blind; Team Daniel Bluffs and Francisco Folds

[Seems like it was time to shuffle the deck chairs on Dionisio's Titanic Turistico and lots of things happened. -- ed.]

capítulo 61

Lo del Pasado:
Daniel and Amanda pay a visit to Licenciado Becerra.  They give him the 411 on Dan’s true identity; meanwhile, Dionicio pays a visit to Rafael and Viviana to confront them about hiding DDA there and his (Aaron’s) supposedly claiming to be Vivi’s live-in lover; Ximena also pays a visit to Alonso to blackmail him over Team Dio’s tourist development plans, saying she wants a cut and that their romantic relationship has to be made public.

Lo del Nuevo:
Rafa and Viv ask Dio what his interest is in whether they are in on something with DDA or not.  Dio’s now married to Agustina, he informs them, and as such, Camila is now “part of his family.”  Viv says that’s nice but it still doesn’t mean he’s become her guardian.  Well, let’s just say, threatens Dio, that if they want to stay friends with Camila, and they want to help Daniel “the same as I do,” then they’ll tell Daniel to stop with those little games of his and meet him there at the same time and day as agreed to in that e-mail!!  As a show of good faith he calls off his watchdogs that have been following their every move 24/7.

Back at Osvaldo’s office, Amanda and Dan explain the proof they have that Dionicio Ferrer was behind the troubles Dan suffered back in Chile, and that Leoncio killed Julian because his brother was Luzma’s daddy, and that Leo had some sort of long-running quarrel with him or something.  He and Rafa, says Dan, themselves witnessed Leo shooting him. They couldn’t keep quiet about the crime so they called in the anonymous heads-up to the police.  Dan adds their suspicions that Alonso and Isadora planned Baldomero’s car accident and had Leo do the deed; and that Isa entered the B&B to finish off the priest herself. Unfortunately, they don’t have any convincingly conclusive [contundente] proof. “--Anything else I should know?” Yes, says Dan. Leoncio is now living at Dio’s place.  Of course, the first thing Os wants to do is give Camila the whole megillah (shout out to ol’ Miriam, que en paz descansa, and who I believe is definitely dead and gone).  Dan stops Os as he starts for the phone and warns him they can’t tell her just yet.

Meanwhile, Cami has gone to the hospital and gotten Al’s doctor to give her a written affidavit regarding treatment for the heart attack caused by the little blue pills Limp-legged Lonnie took when he couldn’t get it up for the hooker.  She calls the divorce lawyer telling him she’s on her way to drop it off.

Daniel explains to Os that the only way Camila will accept the truth is to first see that Dio’s and her mother’s marriage is a sham and that he’s a fake [farsante].  To tell her beforehand would put her—or her mama--in danger, warns Dan.  But, at least couldn’t they explain to Cami that D’Andres really is her cousin and not her driver?  No, says Dan, cuz he’s not really her cousin.  He had a DNA test done and found out he was not Don Daniel’s son after all, which is all for the best because the two of them are in love and won’t have that hanging over their heads.  Amanda is very pleased with this news.  Dan says he just hopes Cam still feels the same about him when she finds out he’s really Daniel and not D’Andres.

At los Alberrán, Ana come home with the gang and is greeted warmly by the rest of the family, including Nana.  FF>>

Iliana makes a small play for Pablo, telling him how the house just wasn’t the same without him.  He rolls his eyes and tells her to stop with the moves cuz they’re friends and that’s all they’ll ever be.  She grumbles under her breath that they’ll just see about that!

Next stop for Cam was apparently Lic. Becerra’s to sign something to do with her will.  Os and the others get freaked when they hear that she’s out in the reception area.  He goes out to apologize that some real emergency just came up.  (Note to costuming: Silvia needs to nix the silly hair bows—and the pink duds—if she’s keeping the red hair.  Find something else to signify the independence thing.)  Os sets up a new appointment for later on with her and she leaves.  Os returns to Dan and Amanda and asks Dan for a copy of the letter Don Daniel wrote to him right before he kicked the bucket.  He feels it’s the only proof they have of their suspicions and something he’ll need to have to get Cam up to date on what Team Daniel’s been doing and why.  Dan says fine, but he wants to be the one to give her the news about him since he thinks it would be too painful if she learned it third-hand.  Os is fine with that and says count on it.

At the same time, Padre Anselmo’s sister, Teresa, arrives for a visit.  It seems she’s the excellent pro-bono criminal lawyer he told D’Andres about earlier.

Aaron comes down to the kitchen to say hey to Amanda and Dan.  Aaron says he’s not leaving this time till everything comes to light and the real bad guys are discovered.  Dan explains his plan and tells Aaron what he’s got to do next.

In Metepec, Isssadora pays her hubby’s criminal notary another visit.  This time she wants a power of attorney that gives DDA’s baby-daddy (Francisco) power to collect on Dan’s inheritance in his name.  It can’t be done, the guy says.  Oh sure it can, says Hissssadora with a grin from ear-slit to ear-slit. Hmmm. Will she be falsifying the signature?  No, not at all! DDA will come himself to sign over the power of attorney.

When Cam finally gets home, Mama Metiche is waiting on her, tapping her toe and frowning.  How dare she ignore her and her new hubby and snub them by not coming to breakfast that morning.  “--What’s the big deal, Ma?  I had to see my lawyer about the divorce and had some errands to run.”  Not good enough, says Gussie.  And, if she’s going to forcé a choice between her hubby and Camila, well, it’s Dio. Cami is a-bucket-of-ice-water-thrown-at-me impactada.  She goes off to sulk about it.

Franc goes into his room and finds D’Aaron waiting there for him.  Franc plays schmaltzy papa and says he’s got a date with St. Peter soon and needed to make amends for being such a crappy papi to him.  D’Aaron says he looks about as sick and as near Death’s door as a Mr. Universe contestant.  What’s the real reason he’s there?

At the same time, Dan arrives at Vivi’s where she and Rafa give him the lowdown on Dio and his visit earlier that day.  How in the world did he ever find out? Vivi is beside herself with angst.  “--Who knows?  He’s threatening to tell Cami, tho’.”  The one thing he obviously didn’t know since he didn’t mention it, figures Rafa, was that Dan’s baby-daddy was in town looking for him.  Rafa speculates that means that Hissa and Kimodo Dodo de ‘Lonzo were behind him coming to town looking for Dan; therefore Team Dio, reason’s Dan, is now divided in half and working behind each other’s backs.  “—We’ll have to take advantage of that and change the game.”

“--I bet it’s cuz you found out I inherited a huge fortune,” claims D’Aaron.  “--Right?  You’re on the wrong team, Pops.  Whoever sent you here probably made you believe you’d get a big chunk o’ change if you did.”  Frankly, he gets no argument from Franky there.  “—Well, if cash is what you want, then team up with me rather than against me.  It’s the only way either of us will ever get to cash in on that inheritance without a hitch.”  No sooner said than done, says papi!  “—Oh, I’m with you, son!”   “—Good, then tell me who got in touch with you and exactly what their plan is.”

Meanwhile, a distraught and disappointed Cami is having a heart-to-heart with El Diosito out in the back forty somewhere about Mama hooking up with that dastardly bastard de Dionisio who will most assuredly make her mama suffer!  “—If she could only see him the way I do she’d realize it!”

Franc tells D’Aaron it was Issadora who contacted him.  “—You know her?”  Oh, yeah, and her son and business associate.  They’re ruthless, capable of most anything, warns D’Aaron.  “--They want what’s mine and they believe they’ll succeed in getting it, too.  So, when they get what they want, and as soon as they don’t need you, they’ll get you out of the way [hacerse a un lado].”  Gees, says Franc, he never suspected she was that dangerous.   Yeah, well, she is, says D’Aaron, but despite getting off to a bad start, says D’Aaron, he won’t try evening the score over it.  Franc’s curious about what he’s really gotten into.  “--Well what’s the story behind all this?”  D’Aaron says he’ll save that for another time. “--You’re blood and that’s what counts.  I’ll share the inheritance with you. Just let me know what she intended you to do.”  Franc explains about the power of attorney so he could collect the inheritance for him.  “—What do I tell her when she asks?”  “—Tell her I’m going to think about it and get back to you.  If and when I decide, though, it’ll be under my conditions.”  D’Aaron walks out of Franc’s room at that point.  Once the door closes, Franc jumps for joy on his bed thinking that finally he’s going to be stinking rich!!

Anselmo brings Teresa to Amanda’s B&B and sets her up with a room.  They explain to Amanda that she’s aware of Daniel’s situation and will handle his legal case for him.

At los Alberrán, Natalia shows Mariano the falsified equipment and repair bills and their expired dates.  They realize they were set up simply to look like Al had spent the money Cami gave him for the rancho, but obviously it was all a ruse. “—Swindle [transa] after swindle.  What a shame for Sra. Camila.  One blow after another.”

Yago comes in to tell Mariano they’ve got to discuss the details about testing the bulls the next weekend, but first Ana’s asked him to come visit her.  Mariano explains to Nat that she’s his eleven year old daughter who’s come to live there now. Once Mariano leaves the room, Yago locks the door and steals a kiss from Natalia.

Meanwhile, Pablo heads into the kitchen where Nana lets him know that Luzma’s having the baby and is doing fine so far.  She also tells him she’s found out who let Luzma’s perverted uncle know they were getting married so he’d do something to stop it.

Luzma runs into the principal from her high school.  The woman says she’s been speaking with her mother and agrees that Luzma should return to school and finish out the year.  She has no reason to feel uncomfortable because the entire school supports her; and it will be one way to definitely get back at the man who would otherwise have taken all the joy out of life for her.  “—He can’t if you don’t let him.”

Pablo finds Illy out in the gardens somewhere and starts screaming at her that he knows she was who gave Luzma’s perverted uncle the heads up about their getting married.  Illy tries to pretend she doesn’t know what he’s talking about.  “—Oh you know perfectly well what I am talking about and because of some ridiculous trick of yours you’ve ruined her life as well as mine!  At least have the courage and decency to admit it!  How could you live with that?”  Mariano and Yago catch up to the two of them and Mar wants to know what’s up.  Pablo screams over to his brothers that Illy is the one to blame for Luzma’s getting raped the day of their wedding.  Mariano yells back asking how she felt justified and then says that she had no right to do what she did.

Illy tries the whining, teary-eyed crap, saying she was worried Pablo was ruining his life; but it doesn’t matter to Mariano.  Illy decides she’s not going down alone.  She accuses Yago of being in on it.  Everyone’s there now and wanting to know why Yago kept quiet.  Well, the dirt wad got put into jail and so what did it matter at that point?  He knew they’d be angry at him otherwise because of what happened.  However, he didn’t know exactly what the details of her silly plan were.  Now Pablo reads the riot act to Yago for being such a hypocrite this whole time, what with the wedding gift and all.

Across the way at La Malquerida, Piedad and Luzma share a tender mother-daughter moment.  Piedad promises to be the attendant mother she wasn’t up till now.  Since Luzma’s says she’s decided to give the baby up for adoption she can finish school.   Piedad knows Luzma can go far and she doesn’t want her to give up her dreams for success.  She’ll support her all she can--especially now that her turd of a tío has split the scene.

Pablo complains to his family that Illy needs to pick up her stuff and get the hell out after all the harm she’s caused them.  Rocio jumps in and says it wasn’t her fault that Luzma was raped by her sick, perverted, dirty old man of an uncle!  Yago then tries apologizing.  Pablo’s not interested.  He walks off in a huff to go sulk.  Mariano then gives Yago and Illy a piece of his mind.  The Albarran’s have always been proud of the way they took care of each other and openly discussed whatever was on their minds.  Yago, tho’, plotted against his brother and went behind his back.   As for Iliana, she had the doors of their home opened to her but was unable to realize how valuable that truly was.  Illy whines that she simply didn’t want Pablo to marry a servant girl was all.  She had no idea how things would end up.  Rocio throws a few words of comfort in her direction.  “—We believe you, child.  We believe you.”  (Big whoop.)

Back at the M.Q., Cami and Ximeana have a bit of a heart to heart.  What’s the matter, asks Xi?  Cami admits to Xi that she and their mom had a nasty falling out earlier due to Cam’s not accepting Dionisio as the second coming like Gussie expected her to do.  Cami is always little miss perfect.  Apparently not, says Cami.  You’ve always been number one with Mama, and I got used to it a long time ago.  Now it’s your turn [Te toco a tí.] You'll have to accept being second fiddle now that Dio’s around.  She always makes the men in her life little gods: first with my father, then with your Tío Daniel, and now with Dionisio. Xi lets Cam know she’s got other things to discuss with her, “woman to woman,” but since she’s not up to it Xi says she’ll leave it for another day and walks off.

Cami’s divorce lawyer stops by Licking My Wounds de Lonnie’s and hands him another set of divorce papers.  Lon’s not signing!  This time they won’t need his signature, says Smiling Lawyer Dude, cuz they have all the proof they need of Limp Lon’s having a wilted wick, which, her attorney informs him, is automatic grounds [un causal] for divorce.  The doc who treated Loser Lon in the hospital signed an affidavit affirming his impotence when he was being treated.  In a few days Al and Camila will be officially single.

After slamming the door in the lawyer’s face, angry Al makes a call to El Pervertido de Leo and demands to know why Leo hasn’t gone after D’Andres yet.  Leoncio’s waiting for Don Dio to allow him to leave first.  Al says screw Don Dio.  This is just between the two of them and Dio’s got nothing to do with it!  He wants that jerk’s face beaten in and now!   Sure thing, says Leo.  Right away!  Click!  Screw-Loose de Lonnie is seeing red. “—I’m going to give it to you where it hurts most, Camila!”

Comments:
It was about time Pablo knew the truth. I loved how he yelled at Ileana, wished he would have slapped her. Won't be long till he finds out everything.

Now that Osvaldo knows Andres is Daniel Diaz Acosta, he can help him. I kinda loved where Aaron arrived and the scene with him and Juan Diaz where he was pretending to be Daniel.

Love the title Jardinera! So perfect for everything that went down last night. Looking forward to the recap later.

Maybe Padre's sister, Daniel's new lawyer, will pretend to woo Dionisio to get some proof. Somebody please help Agatated to get a clue. Man, nobody should have to take that abuse especially from somebody like Dion. What happened in Vegas should have stayed in Vagas.

Jardinera, I too loved the title, and like Anon 10:08, I loved the scene between Aaron and DNADan Sr. I'm also glad that all three Albarrán brothers express their loathing of what Iliana did.

Could the Padre's sister wind up as Mariano's love interest?

Can't wait to read your take on things, Jardinera, but I'm not trying to rush you. Your recaps are always well worth waiting for.

I think that la abogada would be perfect for Aaron. He was so good in the scene w/DDA's dad! I love his character, and the actor! They are both helping Daniel, will both be living at the inn ...

As annoying as it is to me that they never let us know what the good guys plans are, I'm glad they have a plan and they seem to be one step ahead of the bad guys. I loved Aaron getting Dad to confess his plan he had with Isadora. And he thinks he's going to get rich. I am curious how they will deal with Dion.

I was thinking too that the lawyer could end up with Arron since they will be staying together at the inn.

How does Al think that Leo will be able to take on Dandres?

I hope Cam doesn't start to trust and confide in Ximena. That will not end well if she does.

When the scene where Camila was at Osvaldo's place with Andres there, I thought she was going to find out who he really was. It's a good thing the DNA test proved they're not cousins, as she believes. She'll be pretty furious when she learns of his deception, but then again she might understand why he did what he did.

Since Pablo found out from Refugio about Ileana calling Leoncio, I wonder if he'll tell Luzma, because I bet she'll be pissed off at Ileana once Pablo and Mariano tell her what Ileana did. Won't be long till a catfight happens between Luzma and Ileana happens.

Plus I'd have to agree with Juanita on the possibility that the Padre's sister could be Mariano's new love interest.

I'm disgusted that Pablo's mom agrees with Ileana's continued lies, but when his dad said he has every right to be mad, it seemed he might have a change of heart. We'll see.

You know what I love about this show? People tell stuff! Not everything to everybody of course, but more than normal.

I loved the scene with Xi and Camila. I didn't understand it all but it sounded like Xi had a better grasp of who mom is than Camila, who is just finding out that augie thinks men are gods. Sure hope Cam doesn't cater to mom's crazy by letting Dio in on ranch biz.

Kelly

Kelly- I think Cami understood what her mom was like. What she didn't understand before was how Ximena felt about mama choosing a man over her daughter. When Gussy decided to go live with Tio Daniel, Cami didn't get to feel abandoned because she was going too. Ximena, however, felt that her mom was turning her back on her all so that she could be with a man. That's what Cami is feeling now and why she has a deeper understanding of Xi's feelings about Tio Daniel.

We still don't know what life was like for little Camila with Francisco Javier Diaz as a step-father. But she was young enough that Gussy couldn't just abandon her, like she did with young adult Xi. And if Gussy did neglect Cami at the time, Cami was probably too young to remember the details.

I'm hoping for la abagada for Mariano rather than Aaron. This is mainly because I think Ana's destiny is to find a new mom and avoid being raised under the influences of snobbish Rocio. Since Camila is spoken for, who else could fill that role? On the other hand, I think that Aaron and La abogada will form a friendship based on their common subject, Dan.

Vivi, despite looking over the family tree list I'm confused about how D'Andres' father Francisco Diaz is Camilas Step father?

Last night Camila said the name of her step-father, Ximena's dad, when talking to Gussy. It's the same name as Dan's dad. They are one and the same. Dan and Xi and siblings.

typo...Dan and Xi are siblings.

Camila and Dan share a sister.

Thanks Vivi, I missed hearing that connection completely. Thanks for clarifying.

Great recap, Jardinera. I was half listening to the conversation between Camila and Ximena so i didn't get most of it.

Hair bows are more appropriate for Ana than Camila.

Foxy- Since the conversation didn't get detailed, I'll paraphrase what I remember of the conversation between Cami and Gussy. Gussy gets on Cami's case about not having breakfast with her and her step-father. Cami says, excuse me, but the only stepfather I ever had is Ximena's dad Javier and that was more than enough. Plus, I'm a grown woman and I neither need nor want a stepfather.

That was the jist of the convo and when Xi's dad's name was mentioned.

Off to a Diwali party! Will comment later tonight or tomorrow on the great recap Jardinera.

Just read your recap and it was terrific. Lot's of action today. So much planning and plotting. So far I think I'm keeping up. But even if I'm not as long as the good guys win, I'm happy.

Even though Yago has been hard to like, in the scene when Anna comes home and greets everyone, when she greeted Yago, you can hear the squeaky kisses he was giving her. That was so sweet. I actually started liking him at that point.

So how does Isadora think that she can get Dan to sign over the power of attorney? Is she going to hold Camila for ransom for it?

Good work, Jardinera. This episode is setting up so much.

Becerra was absolutely right; Daniel needs to provide that letter from Don Daniel to prove that El Diablo and Alonssso were in choots over the property. Camila would then have to remember how Alonssso freaked out at the reading of the will and how he's behaved since then in any connexion with the property.

Wait until Mariano tells her about the ongoing embezzling of funds. All that remains is to prove the connexion between Julian and El Diablo.

I'm not sure that Miriam is dead.

Daniel described the tattoo on the killer at the initial investigation. Amanda has the creep's passport or a copy that shows he was in Chile at the time of that crime.

Of course, with over 100 episodes to go something will definitely go wrong first.

As for Iliana, she needs to be kicked out of Buenaventura. And Rocio should really think whether she would want a daughter-in-law who is capable of the sort of thing Iliana did to Luzma. Ana could be the next victim.

Jardee Jar Jar! Great recap!

"Limp Legged Lonnie"
"Licking My Wounds de Lonnie"
LOL!!!!!!!!!!

Why do you believe Miriam is dead and gone?

I agree with your note to costuming about those babyish hair bows. "Too Soon" say those of us still traumatized by Elviral wearing them in El Tal.

Here's a cute wardrobe suggestion to symbolize Camila's independence: When she is feeling strong she could wear a cute cami under an unbuttoned plaid shirt. When she feels insecure, the plaid shirt is buttoned up.

I am worried that Teresa will be a love interest for D'Andres. Camila will be mad at him after finding out the identity deception, gravitate to Mariano and Teresa will try to worm her way in. I guess I am thinking of Dr. Tatas moving in on Geronimo in CME. This is feeling scarily familiar.

Thanks Jardinera for another great recap.

My favorite line “….. Cam’s not accepting Dionisio as the second coming like Gussie expected her to do”.

I loved the scene with D’Aaron and his wanna be dad. (That’s a perfect name for Aaron :-). I’m anxious to see where this is going.

Oh no!! I sure hate the news that Xi and D’Andres are siblings. When everything comes to light I’m sure she will try to use that to her advantage. However, instead of caving in based on brotherly love, I hope he remembers when he was just a lower class driver in her eyes.

Oh yeah, I wanted to tell you too that I love the D'Aaron name. Too funny. You are so clever.

Nix the hair bows and the pink. No wonder El Diablo thinks he can ride roughshod over her.

Didn't the avances show Dion making a move on Camila? Did anyone see it?

Hi y'all! Thanks! Got it up quicker today but all was pretty straight forward.

I am really loving the way the good guys are keeping up with the bad guys and the way Hissadora keeps going behind Dio's back.

I am so happy they have Camila as a fast-thinking, can-do heroine--despite the pink and the silly bows. This group of good guys and the baddies are so fast and flexible it's got me anxious to see who makes the next move--almost like a Hitchcock mystery. It's also terrific seeing Daniel slowly bringing in all the right people in on his necessary deception. It's been like unraveling a skein of yarn or something. The writers have really outdone themselves this time around.

Thanks so much, Jardinera, for yet another marvellous recap. I loved your naming "D'Aaron," and I burst out laughing at "Limp Lon’s having a wilted wick." I found the vocab helpful (though I wonder about "transa" -- should that perhaps be "trampa"?).

I was amused to see that the avance creators once again misled us. Alas, Camila was not in Becerra's office and did not overhear Daniel's revealing his identity.

Rosemary la Otra, I tend to agree with your guess about Teresa being at least a temporary love interest for Daniel after Camila becomes furious with him for deceiving her about his real identity. And, as you say, she's likely to turn to Mariano. I hope not, though. Actually, it would be OK with me if she fell in love with Mariano, but the Immutable Telenovela Laws declare that she and Daniel will be together in the end. In which case, I don't want to see Mariano broken-hearted. He doesn't deserve that. That's why I suggested pairing Teresa with Mariano, and not just as a consolation prize after he fails to win Camila.

cathyx: I DID see that! As avances don't have CC's here's what I heard Dio say to Camila:
___________ hombre _______ soy yo.

Yuck yuck yuck yuck yuck

Rosemary, could it be Tu hombre de amor soy yo?

Or, tu hombre a protegerte soy yo.

Or, tu hombre lo que amarte soy yo.

We need Vivi.

Really, it went by so fast. He could have said
El que tiene hambre soy yo.
So, either he's the man of love, the one to protect her, the one who loves her, or he's hungry. Knowing the teases we are getting in the avances, it's probably the latter.

I liked it when Mariano, Pablo & Yago were standing around while Mariano & Pablo were barking at Iliana (Mom, Pops & Nana Refugio were in the background)

Iliana decides to bust Yago and he looks around with a look of shock and Who? Me? LOL LOL LOL

Jardinera - Thanks. My favorite line: "Camila's not accepting Dionisio as the second coming..."

Gussie is truly a fool to not only choose Dio but to say this to Camila. I won't feel sorry for her one bit the next time Dio humiliates her.

So agree about Camila and the head bows. Wearing a bow one day was bohemian and liberating, but everyday no-no.

No idea what will happen but I like Aaron for Vivi. I thought something was happening between these two before and I'm glad to see him back. I too loved the scene between Aaron and Daniel's bio-dad.

So glad Bratgirl got outed. But to her credit, even though she continued to act like a beyotch after Luzma's rape, she didn't know the scum was going to rape his own niece. Sure hope Luzma finds out so that she reconsiders the crap Bratgirl planted in her head about setting Pablo free.

Jardinera, thanks for our weekend treat. I echo the others in thinking your title was excellent. And, "D'Aaron."....very good!

I enjoy Hissadora too. She's a fast-thinking, can-do villana who's not going to let Dio push her around!

"It's also terrific seeing Daniel slowly bringing in all the right people in on his necessary deception. It's been like unraveling a skein of yarn or something. The writers have really outdone themselves this time around." With the exception of leaving Camila out in the cold, it has been fun and fascinating to see it unfold. We have so many more episodes though I hope it doesn't become ridiculous.

Niecie in MD, I agree with your comment about BratGirl. Though she is not a very nice person, I don't think we can really lay the fault of Luzma's rape on her. It would have been nice however for her to mend her ways when she witnessed that her behavior could have unintended and very serious consequences.

Rosemary la Otra, "El que tiene hambre soy yo" LOL!

Jardinera - Thanks for the good time reading! Ditto the comments on loving the title AND DAaron.

I also agree that the headbands Camila is wearing have got to go..... along with the furry bracelet.

Barb: ITA and if
"she witnessed that her behavior could have unintended and very serious consequences"
and learned from it then a path to repentance and redemption is there for her..... Question is then, what about Rocio, the adult in this?
=====
Speaking of redemption, Cami's recognition of how Xi always felt in this family is an opening as well for Xi in the end--once she's gone to jail for her misdeeds and Al finally gets his probable therapy.
============
Before I forget: thanks to all the other recappers this week for keeping us highly--but highly--entertained!!

RlO/Cathyx: LOL! I couldn't stop giggling about your advances translation variations.

Sharing a sibling has never stopped a gálan and his lady love from tying the knot in these tn's. La Esposa Virgen comes to mind. That's when Mr. Jardinera coined his term family jungle-vines. These characters, he claims, don't just have family trees, they have family jungle-vines!!

Let's not forget EPDA and TdA (although they're the same story).

I need to catch up to AV before starting on tomorrow's article, so today will be a busy day.

Bratgirl deserves a severe Karmageddon for what she aided and abetted. Even if all Leoncerdo had done was to lock Luzma up or beat her that would have been reprehensible enough.

Good morning everyone, I have a question. Since it turns out that Francisco Javier is Dan and Xi's father, how likely is it that he also has the family birthmark?

Also, the other day there were a couple of comments about whether or not Francisco's twitch is real (and involuntary) or acting (and self controlled). It sure looks involuntary to me. That said, some actors like Sergio Sendell (Aaron in Destillando Amor), had a way of tightening the muscles of his face in sync with his emotions that was very effective.

LOL! I like the "hambre" translation of Dio's come on to Cami too. :) I think he said something like "Ese hombre soy yo." But the preview monkeys are always good about leading us down the wrong path.

I don't mind the headbands, when the bows aren't big. The big bows really bug me. Mena- I thought the bracelet was leather and studded, not furry.

In general, I think this heroine has gotten off pretty easy in the wacky clothing department. We know what lengths the wardrobe people will go to in order to give the heroine a "unique" look. I'm just happy that she's clothed and not exposing half of her body, like Elisa.

Foxy-
When Xi noticed that Dan had the same birthmark as her, she said that she got it from her dad. So yes, he has it too.

Jardinera, good point about Rocio. What a horrible role model. BratGirl's mom seems awful as well.

UA, earlier in the show, even I had some minor twinges about Luzma getting married without her mother's knowledge. I think some very well meaning adult could have told Piedad what Luzma was planning thinking it wasn't right that her mom didn't know her daughter was getting married. The crime is still all the rapist's fault....no one else.

Urban- Maybe one of your weekend posts could be the unique clothing style of heorines. That would be amusing.

Let's see, from the last few tns:
- CME's Renata and the shorts/scarf combos
- TdA's Maria D and her ridiculously high heels worn everywhere.
- AdP's Elisa with her short dresses, hot pants, boots, cleavage, and doily vests.
- LFDD's Lucia and her GIANT earrings.
- Mi Pecado's Lucrecia and her corsets and cleavage.
- STuD's Valentina and her tight vests, tight jeans, and cleavage down to there.
- Refugio's Luciana and her long skirts and wide belts.
- Teresa with her skin tight clothes and a rose detail somewhere.

But whom did Bratgirl talk to? I don't think it was Piedad, who didn't seem to know anything about it.

Bratgirl isn't completely stupid; one look at Leoncerdo is all it takes to see that he would do something horrible to Luzma even without knowing what it would be. Let's not also forget Bratgirl's attitude and presumption.

Urban- I agree that Iliana knew that the uncle would take drastic measures to make sure Luzma didn't show up, and that's why she didn't tell Piedad instead. It was mentioned to her earlier how awful Luzma's tio was. Of course, she couldn't have imagined he would rape her. The question is, would she not have done it had she know that was a possibility? Judging by her actions afterwards, I'm not so sure it would have stopped her, had she known. One of the things Pablo was mad about is that she didn't come clean about it afterwards- after they all found out what happened to Luzma.

I thought it was interesting in the Padre's conversation with his sister Teresa, he said that she's the only one in the family who supported his choice to become a priest. Their dad would have preferred him to become a big shot lawyer like his little sister. She then says he is a type of lawyer, between God and the people. I wonder if their family will somehow play into this plot later?

One thing to feel sorry for Ileana about is that her mom was coercing her to have a relationship with Pablo in order for her to marry a wealthy family to help out her struggling family. No parent should put that on their child to be the one to rescue the parents. She should never have been put in that position in the first place.

Cathyx, I agree. That is so wrong, but it didn't look like Ileana had any issues with it. If she had I would feel bad for her, but she doesn't.

She is every bit as selfish and nasty as Ximeana. The only good thing that could come out of her marrying any of the Albarran brothers is that she and Rocio would deserve each other.

I'm looking for poor Osvaldo to wake up dead some morning for his trouble; as soon as Dionisio finds out he's poking around.

If not, then maybe he will be able to help the purple patrona when she finally realizes what a dope she's been; they showed Osvaldo having a case on her, so it's possible. Maybe she won't find him so boring in that light.

Testing...uno...dos...tres...my new profile picture: the view from my back door.

And speaking of profile pictures:
JERI!!! That cat is adorable! What's his/her name?

I also think there is a huge anvil over Osvaldo. He seems so nice, it's making me fret already.

How sickening when Dio bragged HE had never killed anyone...he has people do it for him.

Oh my gosh, Rosemary, do you live in Antarctica?
You should join the club and get a cat picture.

LOL Sometimes Utah feels like Antartica, like today. Got my studded tires put on in the nick of time.

Next profile picture will be of my cat: Bubba Aslan Stingray Raja Shere-Khan Brandon Washington, but you can call him Bubba. He's not as sleek as UA's, or as sweetly marked as Jeri's or as flat as yours, Cathyx, but he is a redhaired beauty! Much much prettier than Ileana.

All cats are prettier than Ileana.

so are those hairless Chinese dogs with the underbites. Ill needs to know beauty comes from within, and we aren't seeing it in her.

Rosemary, do you mean that when you call your cat to come, you don't say Bubba Aslan Stingray Raja Shere-Khan Brandon Washington, come here?

Strangely enough, he responds simply to "Nyah". When we speak felinglish with him we say "Nyah Nyah nikes his Nying Nyong yalls". Google translation: Bubba likes his ping pong balls. LOL The scary thing is my daughter and I can understand each other when we talk like that. So can Bubba.

OT: ROSEMARY, thank you, that is Wilbur; and you are so right -- he is awesome! :D He's a smarty pants.

I note you're a Ute -- Wilbur was named after Wilbur Wildcat, a mascot of the U of Arizona Wildcats, my alma mater.

Let me take this occasion to welcome you into the Pac-12. :-) I wish DirecTV would settle on a contract with the new conference.

We moved to Chicagoland from Tucson about 18 years ago. Our forecast here in the western Chicago 'burbs for tonight: SLEET AND SNOW.

Wilbur? That beautiful cat is named Wilbur? I was guessing "Snowflake" or "Diamond" or "D'Andres", but Wilbur is a fun name for a smarty pants. I like how he's named after the AZ mascot.

Thank you for the Pac 12 welcome! This should be fun. I am sad that we are going to be losing out on our biggest rivalry game - Utah vs. byu starting next year.

My daughter's Ute basketball playing boyfriend of 3 years graduated early from the U and transferred to Drake for graduate school and his last year of playing eligibility, so I guess I am also in the Missouri Valley Conference now!

Bundle up against that projected Sleet and Snow!

Re: the Bows. I think I recently read (in TVyNovelas or People en Espanol) that Silvia Navarro is happy that they are letting her do her own makeup and choose her own clothes. So she might be responsible herself. (My Spanish is so bad, though, I wouldn't bet my life that the blurb said this.)

BTW: CdF is Cosmo Hombre 2012 in Cosmopolitan en Espanol.

Aleta

He so deserves it! I used to make screen caps of him from my CSI:Miami DVD's. Hot, hot, hot.

In regard to the bows, I am reminded that a novela device is to dress the heroine demurely before she has some revelation (i.e., makes love, gets married to the hero, etc.), and then she typically changes her hair after such an event. The bows and hairbands are so noticeable that I was wondering if they were such devices and intending to note any change.

(ROSEMARY, Wilbur was a dumpster-diving Chicago mean-alleys kitty when we took him in. He was a BUZZ SAW that would put you in the hospital; but those sometimes get tamed into the best pets, which is what happened with him. He has personality plus. He's super civilized now and loves his comforts. He does clean up well; he's a clean machine and never liked being dirty. We got him when we were living on the U of Chicago campus.)

Another brief OT note about my Figaro. He looks very wicked but he's really a sweetheart. Pick him up and he will purr like an engine.

CdF is Cosmo Hombre 2012 in Cosmopolitan en Espanol.

Oh yes he is, mmhmm.

And about my kitty, he really does sleep that way. He's a very relaxed kitty.

Lucky Wilbur for running into Jeri!

UA, Figaro is so silky and gorgeous.

I love that sleeping pose, Cathyx. Looks so comfy.

I guess I am the only one with a skittish cat in this group. I think his previous owners threw him because he is terrified when we pick him up. At least I know we chose the cat who needed us the most.

Blue has some funny cats too. I wish she was here to tell about her telenovela cat that runs to the couch when it hears the tn music.

I've had the hunch that Silvia Navarro has input into her clothes--she just seems too big of a star, in TN terms, not to. I love her long fitted shirts in this one, but I hate the hairbands, especially the ones with bows.

But what is really starting to drive me crazy is the Tostitos product placement. The production values in this show are so good, and all of the sets are otherwise well-dressed, but then each and every kitchen has to have those Tostitos bags carefully placed on each shelf and table as if they were art objects.

I think Mariano is guaranteed a real love interest now that he has an on-screen daughter. And I'm betting that Yago will eventually redeem himself and realize he really loves Natalia--theme songs are such dead give-aways. (And can anyone tell me what US pop hit that song reminds me of?)

Jeri: Nice to see you here again! Greetings from my new digs in FL.

Jardinera, how nice!! Did you retire?

Jeri: Nope. Used the economic "opportunity" life gave to make the move a final time near my son's family. I added a few oranges to the lemons and made orangeade. ; > )

Utah Desert: So funny and SO TRUE about those Tostitos bags! They are all propped so perfectly in the background. It's always exciting to see the Product Placement the first time if you are playing TN Bingo. I bet a Blackout card with all Product Placements would beat any other card's regular BINGO.

I oftened wondered in LQNPA if they built that little store around the Product Placements, or if they'd planned for that couple to run a store all along. I bet the initial thought was to have them just run the restaurant, but then decided to showcase Tostitos too.

Del Fuerte is also a food company. I'm sure they paid a bundle of cash to have Rogelio's ranch/plantation named for it.

R la O alerted me to the cat-themed discussion, so I dropped in to show off the Telenovela Cat (although clearly I could just have used UA's photo.) He is rather bereft now that I'm on a break from TNs. "House Hunters International" just isn't doing it for him.

Awww! He's gorgeous!

We chose him for his size (large) and personality (placid), but I did recently read that black cats are the least likely to be adopted...which is too bad, coz they're so easy to find in the snow.

OMG, BLUE!!!!!!!!!!! You are hysterical!

Heeeeere's Bubba!

Rosemary, he's adorable!

On my etiquette forum a woman said that black dogs are frequently not adopted quickly because it's harder to see their facial expressions. I haven't found this a problem with black cats, though. Figaro is very expressive and so is his tuxedo "sister," Carmen.

Bubba has black lips.

My little dog who was my soulmate, Giovanni, was black. He'd been at the shelter for quite awhile when we came across him. It was love at first sight.

UA, your cats ARE expressive! Personality Plus. I loved looking at their pictures.

Jardinera thanks for your recap!

Jeri so nice to see you. I hope you are staying warm.

I've been laughing a lot at Dionisio. He so thinks he's in control. At one time, maybe. Not now. He's delusional!!! The Scoobies have more to fear from Isa than Dio.

I have two adorable cats: Julie Eugene and Neo Eugene. Julie heads straight for the kitchen when I say "want some Tu-na?" And Neo is the love of my life. I call him The Monkey, because he used to jump on my back. He's older now, so doesn't do it as much--he's still a kitten in so many ways, though.

Flaco is going to Mexico for vacay for a couple of weeks after Thanksgiving. I've told him he must check out FCs new TN and report back.

Nanette

Thanks again to all of our commentors and to those who simply lurk but took the time to read! Wouldn't and couldn't do it without y'all!

Jardinera, thanks for being such a devoted recapper all these years; you're amazing.

Hi, Karen! Great to see you again.
