Gala and her mother need to go to prison for a very long time... or as long as the other prisoners will allow them to survive in view of their actions.

Thanks so much Marta - wonderful recap. I just caught the episode quick this morning. (One of my college sons surprised me with a weekend visit last night right before the show aired.)

I'm with you UA - RE needs to sit alone, and I emphasize alone, in her own little hell for the rest of her days. She becomes more hinged and disgusting by the episode ( but kudos to LF for this portrayal.) you can see now more the reaction of those around her is WTH and disgust. Rod's reluctance to even hug her said volumes. And what she pulled at the end..

Gala's anvil needs to be something even more. Again with the threat to an innocent child?? Nope, no mercy.

My first reaction at Oscar's surprise was "hey, not cool to spring this on Connie". But I do understand him wanting to keep RE and the clan out of the wedding--just the kids made it just right for them. But wait until RE finds out. That may be the final straw for Connie because I'm sure RE will go ballistic. (And Connie should remember Campos--lord knows it was bantered around enough.)

Hate to say it, but the happy smile on Pato and his determination just made me heartsick. I swear the anvil just loomed closer on him. You can never get that excited about something if you're not the main character and not have TN law butt in and ruin things.

Any bets that RE or Bore-ass is going to see that address sent to Janna's phone from Lorenzo?

And I've just been called asking if I could whip up a nice hot breakfast for hungry, not quite awake son. Surprise visit=home cooking. But I love it. Check in later.
 

Marta, thank you for your recap, marvelous. Again, you noticed all the contrasts, tonight's theme was leftovers. How different are the leftovers at Luci and Paz then from Gala!

 

Marta, wonderful, wonderful recap. I so enjoy all the convos you put in your recaps. Loved how Rod continued with giving it to Gagme. She so deserves it, no more liver for Alexia, yay!

Loved how Frigid used her listening skills once again and now knows the truth of what Gagme did. Maybe now the bracelet will come into play.

Oscar and the surprise wedding was cute I have to say, and am sooo glad la loca wasn't around for the wedding. It would have been ruined.

Did la loca think her family would hang around for more of her abuse?She is so far gone now, she will continue to descend into madness. I too hope she is alone without even Max or Mati at the end. If I were Jana I'd move out already. Hated that she called Luci and I really hope she gets major grief about it.

I had to laugh when Rod thought that Pato and Luci may have something going on. Rod needs to grow up and find out for sure before assuming. He knows what he needs to do to make it right.

I too think Conny will connect the Pedro Campos dots. All she has to do is mention it to Melissa who was at the trial.

I am finally caught up with both Thurs and Friday episodes, so my comments will be about both.

The long scenes with Pato and Luci were wonderful and touching. They have both come a long way, and they are both so strong, while each thinking that the other is stronger. I actually didn't agree with Pato that Rod is strong. Rod is a weak person, who has grown stronger as this tn has gone along, but he still has a little ways to go. Luci and Pato are the true strong ones. Once again I was struck by how alike these two are, which I'm sure Magda and Paz can see. Alas, although he is her soulmate, Pato is not the man Luci is in love with.

I was disappointed to see Rod jump to conclusions about Pato and Luci, and get jealous. Even if he thinks Luci may start to feel something for Pato, he should be a big enough man to let her go and move on to someone else. Such a contrast to the selfless love Pato has for Luci and Rod.

Loved the surprise wedding. Good job Oscar! He knew that 1) Connie would stall on the wedding like she stalls on everything else in their relationship, and 2) It would be better without Rosa there. Had it been a planned wedding, Connie would feel the need to invite Rosa and her sour face there. This was perfect-- just the four of them. I laughed when he said Connie's family was stranger than a green dog. LOL!

Vicky actually stood Max up to go out with Aldo! I hope Max doesn't find out. What are her feelings for Aldo? Aldo pretends like he's not in love, like everyone else is, but we all know he's been pining after Vicky for 5 over years. Vicky has many times said she loves Max, but the times we have seen her most happy were when she and Aldo were hanging out being silly together. He was by her side after her dad died. She also got all shy around him when he came into the salon with Connie and asked her out.

Loved the scene of Alexia putting makeup on Brigida and using a fake Argentine (?) accent. Brigida was being a good sport. If only she would reveal what she knows about Gala/Rosa and baby Roddy, then I might actually forgive her past sins.

Emarie- Thanks for pointing out the theme of leftover dinners. I noticed that too. Of course, Paz and Magda's food started out delicious to begin with, so the reheated, mixed together stuff would also be delicious. And of course, it was served with love. So different than the hate-filled forced feeding of the cold two day old liver to both Alexia and Gala in the penthouse.

It seems that because everyone keeps saying that Luci "lost" the baby, Chelo is convincing himself that Mateo can't be that baby, since he was obviously purposely dumped. What they all need to be saying is that Luci passed out and someone TOOK her baby from her while she was unconscious. The baby didn't walk off by himself! Even if Luci left the hospital with him, this is still a case of kidnapping and I wish they would all just say that instead of feeding into this blame game Luci has been playing with herself.

 

Good pt about the baby, Vivi. They keep acting like she misplaced him. "He must be around here somewhere..." Ridiculous!
Frigida has got to say something, soon. She overheard them talking about how Luci took the baby and fell down in the bus stop. She saw the id band, and she overheard them last night. Can't wait for this to come out.
 

Congratulation to Rosa for winning the Bitch of the Year award. Unbelievable that one she threatens Lorenzo, two treats her twenty plus daughter like a five year old and best of all defies her son and makes a call to Luci to tell her the "good" news. Bitch - she thinks she is so smart. Rod tells her they agreed not to tell Luci until they knew for sure because they did not want her hurt again. So of course she HAD to tell her. So if the clue was wrong Luci will suffer some more and If it turned out that Pablo was LRod then Luci would be pithed that papa and Rod kept it a secret, even for a minute. Rosa figures all the chips are on her side.

So Max finally admits out loud that he is also stuck in a loveless marriage. He seemed so resigned to it. Like his son he should just get the divorce and get it over with. I guess old habits die hard.

Conny did seem to recognize having heard the name Campos before but with all the wedding stuff I wouldn't count on her mentioning it. More likely Max will follow Vicki and see for himself.

Couldn't help noticing Rosa's reaction to Alexia. Icy cold and she almost mimicked Gala's brushing off her hands when the little girl went to hug her. No loving grandmother there - now if it had been a boy that would be another story.

I'm finally losing all respect for Chelo. He knows that a family is suffering the agonies of the damned because of a lost - make that kidnapped baby and he suspects the babe in question is Mateo but is he going to do anything to end the suffering - no. Yes the name Mateo means God's gift and the appearance of the child changed Chelo's life for the better but it is time to regift the child back to his mother.
 

I am worried about what Rosa and Gala have planned for child that is not Rod's. They may try to harm him but if they do, Mateo/little Rod will be safe from these insane women. Are either these two witches capable of actual murder? There's been a lot of psychological abuse and violence in this TN but no actual killings. Is this about to change?

I would love to dine on "leftovers" at paz's house---ANYTIME. There is love and happiness at those dinners, even the leftover ones, so count me in. At the other house---a beautiful dining room with great food but no love or only superficial love---count me out.

Has anyone wondered as to why dishes have to be washed by hand [no dishwasher] at the multi million dollar Torreslanda mansion?Also, leftover food scraps have to be thrown away in plastic bags, [no garbage disposal]--strange.

Good move on Oscar's part to have a private wedding. Keep RosaLoca out of there. That way the wedding could be a happy one.

Yes there is going to be trouble for Jana and Lorenzo. RosaLoca is not finished spreading her poison yet---can't wait for her anvil, she has earned it.

Frigida is a question mark for me. How will it end for her? At one point, I thought that she might gain custody or at least partial custody of Alexia. She certainly has been warming up to the little princess and there is no way that Gagme will give her up to Rod in a divorce settlement, and yet---Gala doesn't love her or want to be bothered with her. And so----Fridiga??? However, Fridiga has that bracelet which could end up costing her her life. Are there any other ideas out there?

Are the witches capable of murder? Absolutely. Anyone who could callously take a newborn in storm and throw him in the garbage has no limits. They certainly aren't the type to want to get their hands dirty but nothing is beyond them. The body count in this novela is extremely low and both deaths were natural not a murder in sight. I could see these two running Frigida down with a car, that is if she ever left the house. I could see Rosa doing the same thing to Lorenzo I can see Gagme and Rosa somehow getting their hands on Pablo and leaving him trapped some place. It wouldn't be easy but they do know how to lie and connive.

Frigida is no fool.She pretty much knows what the dastardly duo are capable of. I could see her sending them an anonymous message and trying to extract money from them. But i think she'd be watching her back not like the innocent victims they prefer.
 

Gringo- In most other places I've traveled, even in very well to do homes, water is not wasted by using a dishwasher. Plus, everyone has servants. That's what the servants are for. Disposing of food scraps down the sink is also wasteful and not practical when: 1)plumbing is not always the best; and 2) scraps can be used for animals or compost.

As for Frigida...I'm not sure what her end will be. As Decie Girl said, the body count in this tn is very low. I am inclined to believe that the writers will continue this trend. If there is going to be death, it would be among the Three Brujas, I think. Plus, they keep showing her soft side with Alexia. But holding on to this evidence is almost unforgivable. Maybe her punishment will be to be banned from the lives of the two people she cares about most-- Rod and Alexia.

Decie Girl - Liked the way you put what Chelo must do: "...it's time to regift the child back to his mother." He's a good man but in denial.

I have to give props to Frigida. At least she's consistent. She's not going to let her feelings for Alexia or Rod make her do the right thing. Instead, she thinks about the possible $$$profits she could get. If she tries to blackmail Gagme, I do think her life would be in danger.
 

I absolutely think Roselena is capable of murder now. She has already dodged the law on kidnapping (baby Luciana) and desecrating two graves, so she probably thinks she is invincible. She got away with these two things because she believes God wanted her to do them.

So murdering Lorenzo, Pablo, Mateo, or Luciana wouldn't be beyond her capability.

Harry was smart to arrange the wedding the way he did. Can you imagine what Roselena might have done if it had been a more standard situation?

So Max finally admits he's stuck in a loveless marriage and there's no hope. Well that's progress, of a sort. Better than going on and on about how in love he was when he married RE. But he'd rather stay stuck and keep chasing Vicki on the side. I guess he's comfortable staying in his luxurious rut.

I so hope Rod hits the roof when he finds out what RE did against his expressed wishes. He was VERY clear with mama, and she did it anyway. It's grounds for cutting off the relationship. Rod has been getting his mojo back lately, so I'm hoping for this too.
 

We're very close to the end now and it's time for RE to lose her children one by one. She lost Pato and Jana emotionally already; it's time for them to physically leave her. She will lose it completely in an empty house with none of her children and Max spending as little time there as he can get away with.

 

The Linares and the Torreslandas are so closely tied together now that the Linares will likely never have Max and Rosa thrown in jail for all their crimes-- for the sake of Hannah, Pato and Rod. But I think they both should be punished by losing the love, respect, and presence of their children and grandchildren. Max will sink into depression and Rosa will sink into madness as a result.

I agree that the TL/Linares clan is deeply tangled together but i do hope that Claudio and Luci stop being so nice and let the TL's especially Rosa get what is coming to them. I don't know what the statute of limitations is for fraud in Mexico so there may be nothing to gain from going after Max. However, Rosa's crime are a million times worse. She literally kidnapped two infants, tossed one in the garbage to die and desecrated graves. She has to be punished and after all the agony her latest infamia has caused both Claudio and Luci should go after her legal guns blazing. I doubt if the revelation of her treachery can be more painful to her children then what she has done to them. There needs to be justice for Aurora and her daughter. If not I'm going to be in a major snit on Dec 4.
 

I agree. There is no way the writers should allow Roselena to get away with her crimes without some legal consequence. She is dangerous. If she isn't locked up somehow she could seriously pose a future danger to any of her children, their future significant others, and grandchildren. Gala and Julie are only dangerous to Luci, Mateo, and any of her future children but Roselena is dangerous to Jana, Pato, and Lorenzo as well.
 

Great recap, SUPERMARTA. been away since Friday so good to come back and have a chance to see the episode (old garage sale VCR still working thanks goodness)and then read the write-up.

"Magda says for me, he can eat all of Miss Piggy… she will throw a party when he dies…" Cute way to put it, Marta. A friend of mine is married to a doctor, brilliant man, who has gout, but maintains that it has absolutely nothing to do with diet. She agrees. But jeez, there's all sorts of medical literature out there on the dangers of high fat food and alcohol consumption involved in that disease. At least don Aquiles and Procopio know he's caused...and is exacerbating the disease by his behavior.

Enjoyed the scene with Alexis painting Brigida's face. Couldn't figure out what the accent was about, but it was interesting. Norteño, Argentinian?...but why? Anyway, cute.

And agree with Vivi that Rod is not strong "emotionally"...but he has always been stronger physically than Pato. As older brothers often are. So maybe that has colored Pato's vision of him. Growing up our older siblings are always more competent....because they're further along in their development..... and usually hammer home that message to us. So he's still seeing Rod with a young kid's eyes.

Anyway, great episode, great recap. The gratuitous cruelty of Roselena building up Luci's hopes really sticks in my craw. On the other hand, the surprise wedding, and later, the oh gosh, gee whiz re-meeting of Vicky with Aldo was adorable. Some sweet along with the Roselena/Gala sour.

Mads and Supermarta--Just checking in for a sec. Got to watch the episodes. Thank you both for providing excellent coverage.

I shouted out loud while laughing to see Rod trying to force Gala to eat the liver--scared my company. I was sorry that Alexia ruined my pleasure. What a kid--she recognized what was going on and didn't want Rod to repeat what Gala had done to her. I don't think that will hold ANY truck with Gala. The minute Rod's back is turned, she'll do something else to hurt Alexia--or, hopefully, just ignore her completely.

That is NOT an Argentinian accent. It sounds to me more like a Norteamericana doing one of those chiropractic, attorney, dental, commercials with a terrible bad horrible Spanish accent!
 

My biggest problem with RE is that she tries to decide the lives of her children for them. She ruined Rod's life because she did not want her worst 'deed' of the past to come to light once she realized Luci was the baby she gave to Paz. She knows Max also had issues against Claudio and if Luci was Claudio's daughter they were both doomed for their past 'deeds'.
But i speak from a mother's perspective... not only she screwed up BIG TIME giving Luci away to Paz, then now when her own kids are adults, she keeps on digging herself a bigger hole by chosing for her children the path that will have least chance of exposing her for what she really is. Thus ruining her children's chances of happiness in exchange for her own image as a mother... people like her deserve to end up with what she dreads most losing: her children... the problem is that because she is so extreme, i truly believe by the end she will either be dead or completely coo-coo... and not even realize the extent of her own actions....
I can't blame her for the baby in the trash, but she did tell Gala 'do what you must' so it would not be a stretch of the imagination if she herself had suggested to Gala to put the baby in the trash or somewhere where the baby would eventually die before anyone could find him.

Max did state it early on, that he was on the fence between defending RE and trying to save his 'family' or saving Rod's happiness... too bad he chose to support the wrong cause... so far. he has two other children of chances, but so far with Janah he is also chosing the wrong cause or at least abstaining, which is almost as bad.
 

Agreed. I thought Alexia was mimicking a gringo accent.
 

Roselena is a narcissist of the worst kind: She insists on imposing her misery on others. She can't stand to see other people happy. The idea that Connie and Oscar could have a happy marriage scares the living daylights out of her.

Hence the darkness...
 

Rosa just loved holding it over Connie's head that her first marriage ended in divorce. She can't stand the fact that: 1) Connie was strong enough to get out of a bad marriage and raise her two kids on her own; 2) Connie's two kids adore her; 3) Connie is an idependent, working woman; 4) Connie found the love of a wonderful man who adores her; and 5) Connie is HAPPY.

RE is seeing black everywhere she looks... she can't 'fix' her children's lives, she can't 'fix' her own love life...

so she does not want anyone else she considers 'beneath her', including her sister, to be happy or get what they want in life...
a typical case of 'if i can't be happy, noone else will be'...
She also has that 'resentment' against Aurora and anything/anyone related to her so the person she wants to see the least happy is Luci, who is the daughter and vivid image of the woman she has envied and hated most of her life.
 

Way back early on Oscar said Rosa liked to suffer. Too bad she has to make other people suffer as well. If you want to be miserable go ahead no one is stopping you but she continually steps over the line. She has now decided she is a martyr, that that is what God wants her to be. Her whole thought processed is skewed and it is all her fault. I thought it was interesting when Mati said the house was so quiet, no children around, no parties and God knows there must never have been much laughter. I'm hoping that is writers foreshadowing that in the end Rosa will have her big, dust free and I might add ugly house and but it will be empty. No Max, no children, no grandchildren, no friends, just a bitter unloved woman and a paid servant or two. It is certainly what she has earned. Actually i prefer her in prison surrounded by all those low class types she so disdains.
 

She should be in prison. She kidnapped a baby, conspired in the kidnapping of a second baby. and desecrated two graves.

There is nothing lower on a women's prison food chain than someone who kills or otherwise harms a child. We haven't much longer to go.
 

Urban - with 15 hours to go I want to see her get her just rewards several hours before the end, just as i want Luci to find her baby and have time to form a relationship with him before taking him from Chelo. The last thing I want is a last hour or two resolution of everything. That happens way too often and takes the fun out of us seeing those who caused all the suffering not suffer themselves. The pacing has been really good on this novela so i'm thinking we should begin to see those anvilsbegin falling this week.
