Amores Verdaderos #3 Fri 11/9/12 Two Hawt Guys Have An Eventful Day; The Brat Is Back; Who Is Really Running The Beatdowns?

Our Two Hawt Guys have an Eventful Day; There are some secrets revealed; The Bratty Girl is back; And we in Viewerville find out who is behind the beatdowns of the Balverneras, how you ask, please read on!

The Refried:

Victoria picking up Anibal, her Papa, at the airport and they are going to the house in the D.F.

The New:

El Banco:

Jose Angel is finding out the letter he got that said his loan was caught up/paid off is a fake. The loan number and the file number are not in the computer's files at the bank. Come to find out, all the money Jose Angel sent to a lawyer to catch up the loan was never paid to the bank. In other words, if he doesn't come up with the money, in about a week, his ranchero will be put on the auction block. Jose Angel is wayyyy pithed and raises his voice so loud, the security officers come up to the desk where he is but he calms down, and the lady tells him to find that lawyer, get a receipt for the money that was paid toward the loan, and everything will be honkey dorey. Jose will do this right now! He leaves and wishes them a good day.

Lawyer's Office:

Jose Angel has tracked down this crooked lawyer and is wanting to see him and is confronted by a secretary, and I use the term loosely here, cause she is stuffin' her face, talking on the phone with an amiga, sipping soda thru a straw and totally ignoring our teddy bear of an Angel, who I am sad to say, is loaded for bear. That secretary ignores him so much, he hangs up the phone for her and demands to see that lawyer. The secretary finally tells him, very snottily I might add, that the lawyer isn't there, won't be back till six! Six, our wonderful Angel says, yeah six, he'll be back.

Balvernera Home, Dining Room:

The family is gathered together to eat lunch, that would be Nelson, Victoria, Nikki, and Anibal along with Tomasina to see to their needs. Nelson, is going on about how this attempt to get rid of Victoria was a kidnapping attempt, Salsero, the dancing man, told him so! So shall it be written, so shall it be done. (Ten Commandments). Victoria is so not in agreement and tells Nelson that it was a murder attempt, plain and simple. Anibal throws his two cents worth in and says let the popos investigate, they will figure out what is what. Victoria is still saying murder attempt when Tomasina pipes up, don't talk like that. In comes delightful Polita who is thankful the Virgincita saved Ms Victoria. Victoria comments that the Virgencita and that Angel saved her and Nikki, fully in brat mode thinks the Angel is a ghost cause her Daddy Nelson and she didn't see this superhero! Nelson asks about Jose and Victoria informs him she offered Jose the job, but he wouldn't take it. Polita is serving the food and a cell phone rings. I have to say here, can't people enjoy a meal without leaving the table for a cell phone call? Let it go to voice mail, jus' sayin'. Anibal leaves to take the call. Nikki seems to know who is calling Anibal. Anibal answers and it is Paula, his amante, and she wants to know how he is? Victoria evidently knows who this woman Paula is and clearly can't stand her. Nikki is trying to tell Mama to calm down with cleansing breaths, but Victoria ain't havin' it, no siree bob, she isn't. This woman isn't a part of the family, Nikki had a grandmother named Pilar, who is now dead, so we learn Anibal is a widower. Nelson and Nikki think this relationship with this super sexy Paula is great, but Victoria is so not down with that. Nikki says she is done with the meal, but Victoria tells her to sit down and finish her meal and to stay till she finishes. Seems Nikki has a lil problem with food. Anibal intervenes for Nikki and tells Victoria to let the child be. They want to know about the piano lessons, Nikki doesn't want to do them, but her parents are insisting. The piano teacher has arrived, and Victoria wants Nikki to apologize for her rude behavior the day before. Nikki doesn't wanna she even sucks up to Daddy Nelson and Grandpa Anibal, but they won't intervene. Do what Mama tells you they say.

Public Pay Phone D.F.

Jose calls his wife Christina and tells her what happened at the bank, and he will get every penny he paid from that shyster lawyer so they don't lose their rancho, he swears it!

Mickey D's Sort Of In the D.F.:

Francisco, Guillo, and Beatriz are having a little nosh at this Mickey D's type restaurant. Little Guillo wants to play on the playground part, so they let him go, but not long. Beatriz is a little annoyed that Francisco, our Hawt Guy number 2, lent money to their Papa Felipe. Evidently, Papa Felipe has an addiction to either the numbers or gambling. Beatriz is annoyed that Francisco is feeding this addiction. Ok, now Beatriz brings up their Mama, who had left the family home years ago. There is alot of rancor for Francisco cause Beatriz tells Francisco to contact her, she wants to see him, maybe help him. Francisco is pithed and says his mama is dead to him! Who could this Mama be, you'll read about her later. It is one of the secrets revealed. Now she asks Franciso if he wants to play with Guillo a little, and Francisco informs her for a little while he will, but he is job hunting today and is going to give his resume out. She is watching it for him. Jose Angel walks in about this time, looking at the food choices. Jose Angel seems to attract trouble, cause in come a gang of robbers to rob the place and the patrons. Jose Angel is shoved to the side by these guys and Francisco is instantly alert. These robbers tell everyone to shut it, come on now, people are gonna scream no matter how many times you tell them to shut it during a robbery. So, Guillo picks this time to come out of the playground, calling for his Mama, he is scared out of his mind. Beatriz stands up and all the guns get pointed at her. She just wants her son, she tells them. Francisco, also stands up and tells the guys to calm down, let the mother get her son. The guys allow it and start grabbing purses, they want rings, watches, jewelry, money, the works. So where are the pillow cases, bags etc. they will put the loot in???? These guys are truly estupido and you'll see why I say this. Oh, they grab a woman's purse, that must be the loot bag, lol. Split screen alert: Jose Angel and Francisco taking a good look around at the robbers and the patrons. The robbers are busy grabbing all the loot and Jose Angel and Franciso are telling the robbers to be calm, while they kinda take baby steps and they look at each other, like you ready dude, yeah, let's do this. So Jose Angel starts with the first kick and Francisco joins him in hand to hand combat, with these armed robbers. Ok, Ok, it's a cheesy fight scene but so what? Our guys are hunkalicious, jus' sayin'. Ok, all the robbers are disarmed, out cold, except the sniveling idiot in the play area, and Jose Angel says call the popos. Then they introduce themselves as Guzman and Arriaga and tell each other they are ok. Commercial!

Victoria's Hideway:

Victoria has a little hideway in the house she goes to, to settle her mind. Tomasina comes and brings her tea, and Victoria remarks the only person she allows in her hideway is Tomasina. There is an easel for painting or drawing with a box of paints off to the side, and a painting on another easel. Victoria want to know about Nikki, she is taking that piano lesson, and Victoria says she wants to be tranquil, but is bothered by the fact of Jose Angel not accepting the job. Evidently, Salsero, in his need to buffalo Vikki, put on that resume that Jose Angel is like a covert agent, specializing in covert operations, Ohhhh Boy!!!! Tomisina thinks he is like Bond, James Bond, 007 Bond! lol.Tomisina wants to know if he is as good looking as Bond or better looking, Vikki tells her don't ask me, I'm a married woman, but I feel so PROTECTED IN HIS ARMS, Ruh Roh, has she got it bad, and she's got that lovely, far away look in her eyes, like yeah, she fell for him already!

Piano Room:

Nikki is playing for the piano teacher, Jean Marie who is sorta keeping time, and Polita. She is butchering "Blue Moon", on the piano, I tell you I had to rewind the tape just to make sure I had the right song, anyhoo, the piano teacher has had enough and QUITS. First she got fired, now she quits. Her ears can't take anymore, doncha know! Nikki is so Happy!!! ok, bye she says. Jean Marie tries to talk the piano teacher out of leaving but no go, the woman is outta there. Jean Marie and Polita are wondering about this turn of events, when Tomasina comes in, get the 411 and starts in about Chinese Astrology, lol. Anyhoo, Vikki comes in finds out what happened, and is not likin' it. They need to find something Nikki is interested in. She didn't like ballet, piano, etc. she needs an activity to perserve in.

Outside the Police Station, D.F.

Our two Hawt Guys, accompanied by Beatriz and Guillo, have given their statements, and the patrons have gotten their things back. Francisco tells Jose Angel that he has never seen such fighting from an untrained bodyguard such as him, as a matter of fact, he is as good or better than some of the guys that Francisco worked with on assignments. Jose Angel thanks him. Then Jose Angel says you lookin' for a job right? Yeah. Well Jose Angel has a deal for him, a job and he would be doing Jose Angel a huge favor. Francisco is sooo happy.

Balvanera House, Nikki's Room:

Nikki is bitchin' at her Mama Vikki about something when the phone rings and it's Jose Angel. He wants to come see her. Nikki, takes something from the dresser and escapes while her Mama is on the phone. It is Jose Angel of course. Vikki will give him directions.

Other Part of Balvanera Home, Balcony:

Our dancing evil minion, Salsero is on the phone. Who is he talkin' to you ask? The other evil minion, that would be Kendra of course, who is getting some gooey facial. Now this woman can hear everything Kendra is sayin' So now Salsero is tellin' Kendra that thanks to that imbecile, he wouldn't take the job for Victoria, but he will find a way to make it easy for him to do so. Kendra wants results, doncha know. So Salsero is the muscle but Kendra is the brains and gives the orders for this vengeful scheme against Vikki, so who is the mastermind?

Paula's Apartment:

Paula gets a call from Anibal's secretary, seems a letter has arrived for Anibal from another woman!!!! How many women does Anibal have? Well Paula asks Anibal's secretary to steal the letter and bring it to her, she wants to see it. Anibal almost catches the secretary in the act, but she gets away with it, by slipping the letter into a file she takes out of the office.

Balvanera Home:

Jose Angel has come to see Vikki, Tomasina lets him in, and eyes him up a bit. Vikki comes and thinks Jose Angel has finally accepted her job offer, but no, Jose wants her to meet someone, he opens the front door, and gets Francisco to come in. Jose does a good job of talking Francisco up, what a great bodyguard he is, and since Jose Angel isn't taking the job, hire Francisco! Salsero is lurking by the stairs and hears it all. Francisco introduces himself and gives Vikki his resume and letters of recommendation he got from former employers. Salsero thinks to himself, oh the wretch. Jose Angel is again talking up Francisco. So Salsero makes his presence known, takes the resume, thinks it's great, he could be Nikki's bodyguard she needs one too, so Vikki says ok and they will just have to find someone else for her. Jose Angel does ask for the capataz position again, but too bad Vikki's old capataz has come back, so sorry so sad, hasta la vista bebe. Now Francisco isn't comfortable taking this job away from Jose Angel, but Jose says its fine, don't want it and Salsero takes Francisco off for a tour of the home and Vikki says bye to Jose Angel * Hand Porn Alert* (Thanks Elvira), as he goes to say goodbye there is a little too long hand holding between Jose Angel and Vikki, where she has to take her hand out of his, he smiles she tosses her head and he reluctantly goes.

Nikki at the enclosed pool, texting, drinking, when Tomasina comes in. Nikki bitches at Tomasina about her Mama is just interested in her job, not Nikki, yadda, yadda. Nikki dives in the pool.

Salsero is taking Francisco on the grand tour of the home, while both Polita and Jean Marie, are skulking after them, cause the want a look at the new bodyguard, both find him very attractive. Jean Marie and Polita are a hoot! They get caught by Salsero who tells them this isn't a social event, but Polita introduces her self as Polycarpa, but everyone calls her Polita, and Jean Marie, the French Chef, not like Julia Child though, I bet, introduces himself and says Bonsoir I am the man that cooks the little things the family likes and Francisco has to take his hand out of Jean Marie's lol. Salsero makes them leave, they are so scared of him! So Francisco is now on the job.

Shyster Lawyer's Office, D.F.

Jose Angel has come back to the shyster lawyer's office lookin' for that dude that stole his moola. The secretary again waylays Jose Angel and tells him this shyster, er lawyer is with an important client doncha know, well Jose Angel practically begs her to let him see the lawyer, but no go. Jose Angel has had enough and busts in that door anyways. Jose Angel tells the guy he has that fake letter, and wants to know where his money went. The lawyer tells him get outta here, so Jose Angel grabs him, none too gently, and demands his money back, so finally the lawyer says he'll check, but instead gets on the phone and tells the secretary to call secruity. Security comes while Jose Angel is yellin' about his money, Jose Angel knocks out secruity, and has the lawyer by the neck and demands his money back, while the "important client" is in the corner, lookin' like he is peeing his pants, jus' sayin'. He lets go of the lawyer.

Back to the Balvanera House:

Francisco is takin' the tour on his own and stops by the pool house and is drinking in the sight of Ms Nikki swimming in the pool, getting out and dryin' her hair. I think he likes what he unexpectedly came upon.

Salsero is telling Ms Vikki that Francisco's resume checked out. So is he to be Ms Vikki's bodyguard, ah not so much. Salsero says too bad Arriaga wouldn't take that job, he'd have been perfect. So the gist is Frank will be Ms Nikki's bodyguard, and Salsero will come up with someone else for Ms Vikki, who looks none too happy.

Convo on the phone with Christina and Jose Angel:

Seems our hot teddy bear Jose has been arrested for assaulting that shyster of a lawyer. Christina is fit to be tied that Jose is in jail, but he swears he will come up with some type of solution to the problem of saving the house, cause Christina is gettin' all verklempt about not having a roof over her and Lili's heads. He tells her he will come up with the money he owes to pay the bank, he also wants that money back from that lawyer, good luck with that, and she is freaking out that their home will be auctioned off. He tells his wife to trust him. The guard comes by and tells him, time is up buddy, Jose doesn't want to surrender the phone, but the guard takes it and Jose says Love Ya, to the hung up phone, and is escorted to his cell. Meantime, back home at the ranchera, Christina is sooo upset. Lili comes in with a potted plant she is coddling when Christina asks her where that number is, you know the one Vikki gave them on the card. It is on the fridge, so Christina gets it and knows what to do. Lili looks on.

Paula's Apartment:

Anibal's secretary has come by and is nervous Anibal will catch her with Paula. She has come by to give that letter to Paula. Paula just opens that letter, no steaming mind you, so you can't tell it's been opened, just rips it open, but the flap is intact, no ripping of that. Seems the letter is from a woman named Candelaria Corona. Seems that Paula is not the only bun wrapped around Anibal's frankfurter, ok, I know, it's bad, but too funny. Sorry, on to the recap. Seems Anibal had a lover named Candelaria that bore him a daughter, and I think she wants Anibal to know bout that. Well Paula is really pithed that she has been the bun to Anibal's frankfurter for twenty years, mind you, and tomorrow that could all be gone. The secretary wants to destroy this letter, but Paula says hold on there, we gotta do something. Paula goes on about how could this happen now, what does this woman want after all this time, why, this can't be good. After all, says Paula I deserted my children for Anibal. The secretary has a solution. Find this daughter of Anibal's before he does. Problem solved? We will have to wait to see.

Felipe Guzman's Apartment:

Our hawt guy Frank, has packed up his stuff, left a letter for his Papa to let him know he got the job. He is checkin' the drawers to make sure he got everything when he comes across a picture. Ruh Roh, it is a picture of Paula! So this must be the Mama he doesn't eva want to talk to. *Flashback* Our hawt Frank remembers the day his Mama left, or night I should say. He witnessed his Mama and Papa fighting, how Mama was deserting them for her amante, and she thought this was best and left them high and dry. Lil Frank was crying, aww. He debates takin the pic, turns it upside down in the frame and goes to leave. He comes back again, takes the pic out of the frame, and takes the pic with him.

The Hoosegow in the D.F.

Jose Angel is in the cell, crying. Can I give him a hug? He needs one right about now, I have to say. Ok, back to the recap. Here she comes to save the day! It is a woman that says Arriaga? He picks up his head, he can't beleive it. It is Ms Vikki and her neverending side kick, Salsero, I want to see this guy dance, jus' sayin'. Anyhoo, Ms Vikki informs our Hawt guy he is free. Free he says. She has paid his bail, how did she find out he was in the hoosegow. His wifey pooh of course, and not only did Ms Vikki pay his bail, his other debt too, on his house. He is flabbergasted! He wants to sue that rat bastard of a lawyer that stole from him and Ms Vikki says that's all well and good, but it takes years for that, and he is free now! Jose says he doesn't know how he will repay Ms Vikki, and Salsero finally opens his mouth and says, that's easy, be Ms. Vikki's bodyguard. She says yes, be my bodyguard, no answer yet, just dramatic looks between all. Jose tells Ms Vikki she is very generous, but he will find a way to pay her back, he can't take Guzman's job away from him, doncha know. Ms Vikki assures him that Guzman won't lose his job. So she asks Acepta? Jose wants a tiny minute. He looks at the wall of the cell, comes back and tells Ms Vikki, just one condition, he doesn't want to be paid, until his debt is paid back to her. She says no way, he is stubborn as a pole cat and tells her that is my condition. Ok she says shake? *More hand porn alert and also eye porn* They shake as they stare longingly into each others eyes, and then break the contact. He takes the job by the way, lol.

Meta Imagen Internacional:

The cancelled photo shoot is on, and a model is sucking up to Nelson, wants to go out for drinks, etc. He says he can't but he'll call, I wouldn't bet on it. She goes. I have to say here, this guy is not the bees knees, or even close to our Hawt Guys, the girls must want bennies of some kind, wink, wink. Anyhoo, I have to say these models, for Doc Carlos and Gringo, look well fed and not on the anorexic side. They all look extremely healthy. Anyways, back to the story. The rest of the models come up and greet Nelson, and Kendra of course stays behind for a lil personal time with our Lothario. She goes to leave, but he reminds her about that lil meeting in his office after the shoot, Oh, she remembers, the dollar signs are in her eyes, and he lustfully watches her walk off.

Balvanera House:

Our Hawt Frank has arrived back to the Balvanera house with suitcase in hand and he is getting the tour of his quarters, too bad his room is next to Salsero's, and Polita is there too, lookin' at her eye candy. Before Tomasina goes she tells Polita to bring Guzman some water, coffee and sugar. Polita then tells Guzman the 411 about the family, seems there is a missing sister, her name is Adriana, and she lives in Europe. She gives him the 411 on Anibal, Paula, I think, and the twenty years or so they have been going out. He wants to know if the pool is available, she says yeah, Nikki is in her room. I forgot to add before, they are allowing our hawt Frank to use the gym and the pool to keep fit. Frank goes to his room and Polita falls on floor and says she melting for our hawt Frank, she is a hoot. Tomasina comes back and wants to know what Polita is doing? Just melting for hawt Frank. She goes.

Ms Vikki and Salsero have brought Jose Angel back to the house. They tell him he'll work, everyday but Sunday. He is happy 'bout that cause he can spend time with is family. Au contraire, cause he is living in the house with Ms Vikki, he has to be around her 24/7. Our Hawt Jose hasn't counted on that. He will have living quarters in the house, but his wife and daughter have no worries cause they will have their little ranchera to live in. Jose Angel isn't likin' that. He doesn't like leaving them alone. So Ms Vikki suggests he call his wife and tell her the arrangement. Jose is a little nervous, Ms Vikki can tell, but she tells him to call.

Now we have our hawt Frank swimming in the pool. It is night time and that pool is all lit up, really pretty, and he is doing laps. He comes up for some air, near the stairs of the pool, and of course encounters, wait for it, Ms Nikki of course. She wants to know QTH is he, and QTH is he doing in her pool, hmmmm????

Anxiously awaiting your recap...

Caption dumps are here, in case anyone is still using them.

Aribeth,

Thrilled to see that you are back! Read your awesome recap the other day. With all the election business, I lost track of time, so I missed the first 2 episodes. I have not been watching much - just finished ¿Dónde esta Elisa? on Telemundo - loved it.

After our experience with La Verdad Oculta with Big Ed and your fabulous recaps, I went on to watch Destilando Amor with EY and enjoyed every minute of that as well. So, I am happy to see EY once again. I just watched for the first time last night, so I didn't miss too much. In addition to many good looking guys and good acting all around,
I find that the actors are speaking VERY distinctly, and so far I can understand just about everything. Some actors are much harder for me to understand.

Re the leading lady EB, she looks great...quite a change from her looks in TDA. I have read that she had many lead roles several years ago when she was about 20 yrs. younger.

Thanks to all present and future recappers for their contributions.

Thank you GatoViejo! You are the best!

Looking forward to this recap! You are awesome.

Big Ed is totally cute and sweet and very watchable. Love his character so far. Sebastian Rulli is a hottie too.

I was so taken with this episode that I "prewatched" the next episode. Am dying to see what they all said *with* CCs! LOL. Floridia, your Spanish comprehension is better than mine (well, many can say that! LOL) because while I 'got' a lot of it, I missed a lot too. But I did notice that I 'got' more than I expected to. So I'm sure you're right, they are speaking very distinctly, and bravo to them!

I don't know if I'll have time to keep up with this novela for the duration (I hope to) but since I am enjoying it so far, I'd be happy to cover a night and recap an episode now and then, at least for now. I don't want you to burn out, Madelaine! Let me know if you need any help. (But if you're holding on just fine, then no worries! I'm not trying to horn in or anything. Carry on because you are doing fabulously! :D )

Gato Viejo! It is the weirdest thing, but I was really hoping you would be posting captions for this one, and I was trying a few weird url searches to see if I could find them today; no luck; and here you are like you read my mind! Thank you so much!

Hey y'all it's Mr. Mads(My Hubby's birthday) and I'm working the recap now. I want to thank Gato Viejo for putting up the link, you are a doll :)

Elvira- Do you want to take Tuesday the 13th? It would be great and I loved your recaps for LQPNA. Just remember to use the point break when you post the recap, you know that broken page icon in the posting bar, that way we don't throw anyone off the page. Please let me know if you can recap that date. Aribeth is doing Mondays and Wednesdays, I am doing Thursday and Fridays. So Tuesday is wide open.

Madelaine, yep, I can do this Tuesday! I'll try to do a lot of loving screencaps (in HD, por supuesto!) featuring Big Ed and Sebastian. lol

Yep, I know about the page break (did it on a few of the last LQNPA recaps). With all the screencaps I tend to post, a page break is a necessity.

Looking forward to your recap!

Hi Elvira! Nice to see you come back out of the woodwork LOL! Yañez and Rulli drew you out, eh? I'm not following this TN even though I'm a big fan of the very beautiful Rulli, but I will definitely be reading your recap!

GatoViejo,

I've never seen the captions posted like this before. I think they are wonderful. I don't use captions on my TV, and while I am understanding better, I still don't get everything.
How does one find these?

Re my listening comprehension. I do my best with radio and TV news announcers and with those actors
who speak quite distinctly with a "basic, simple accent." I still have trouble understanding Lucero and others when they give interviews With some actors in novelas, I need to replay several times to hear exactly what they said even though I know the gist of it.

For over 3 yrs. I have been listening to CNN en español in my car. At first I could understand almost nothing and now -- just about everything.

Thanks for this new tool.

Madelaine, I'll "prewatch" Tuesday's episode so I can get a head start on recapping! :D I don't know if I will be able to recap each and every Tuesday (but never say never). But at least for a while. Hopefully someone will come forward to help relieve the load. I am "saving myself" for hopefully recapping either the upcoming Colunga and/or Salinas novelas, which I assume will show up on Univision sometime early next year. (The Colunga show is really cute, and I am totally into the Salinas show, as it is super corny and I love that.) Another Carayer has told me that the Salinas show (Que Bonito Amor) has so-so ratings, and if that's the case, we speculate that his show might end up on afternoons. But I'm pretty sure that the Colunga show will be prime-time. (Actually, like I said I love the Salinas show too, and can see it appearing at the 7 pm timeslot. Jorge Salinas and Pablo Montero! What's not to love?)

Hi Audrey! Yeah, I'm here! :D I never really left novelas, I just got sooo behind. I have many episodes of Por Ella and Passion Pit on my DVR, which need to be watched and erased. Slowly I am catching up there.

I decided to start "anew" with Amores, and am hooked! So it'll be nice to do some recaps for it! And yes, Big Ed and Sebastian Rulli are two attractions. To be honest I see Big Ed as a cute teddy bear and I enjoy seeing him, but he's not at the top of the hottie scale for me. (But don't get me wrong, I love Big Ed! He's so adorable.)

Ok, y'all it is finally up. Sorry it took so long, and thanks for all the encouragement.

Elvira- Welcome to the team for how ever long you want to recap. I can't wait to read your first one for this TN and I have always really liked your pictures, so put up as many as you want :)

Audrey- So happy to see you here. I think you would like this TN. Rulli is good so far, I'm not familiar with his work, but he is HAWT, lol.

Floridia- So happy to have you here. Please come back often. I too recap without CC'S of any kind, but thanks to GATO VIEJO I have a chance to look and see what I miss. I am so grateful for that. My listening skills are good, but I do miss things from time to time. I am really enjoying learning though.

Oh, and Elvira- if you ever want to email me, my email addy is
navygurl75@gmail.com. This way you can tell me when you'll recap and if you are going to stick with us, until more people volunteer, and who knows you may like this one so much, you'll stick with it all the way thru :)

Fantastic recap Mads! You really outdid yourself.

I really liked the buddy/crime fighting duo chemistry between Jose and Frank. They are going to be fun to watch together.

It seems that Paula was Anibal's lover even before his wife died, and that's why the family won't accept her. But it should say something to her that he hasn't married her since his wife died. He'll never marry her. I wonder what Frank will do once he realizes that his mom is the mysterious mistress of the head of the family, whom they all hate.

I laughed when the secretary told Paula to destroy the letter, which makes total sense if you're trying to keep something a secret. But of course, Paula didn't, which means the LETTER will fall into someone's else's hands or go from hand to hand, until Anibal finally sees it.

By the way, apperently this show did incredibly well in ratings its first few episodes. Hopefully some more of the many people watching it will start commenting and even volunteer to recap. You ladies did an amazing job covering the first week with just the two of you, and now we'll get Elvira and her picture filled recaps too!

Madelaine, you are a wonder doing so many recaps, thank you for your hard work.
You cleared up for me the relationship Paula is Anibal's lover and Franks mom; that was foggy in my mind.
Another thing I am confused about, Frank and Angel, did they just meet or do they know each other?
I loved your, “Lili comes in with a potted plant she is coddling.” Lili-named her plant? Goofy. It’s like her mom wouldn’t let her have a real pet.
Floridia, thanks for the Spanish CNN tip.
Jose Angel tells his wife to confio en mi. No offense, but he just gave money to a shyster lawyer to pay the mortgage. I’d be wanting to yank the family’s accounting out of his hands. But that’s just me.
You know this secret love child of Anibal’s is going to turn up.

Good stuff; just watched the episode.

Is Enrique Rocha finally playing a decent father for a change? That would be quite... unusual.

Francisco Gattorno has all the appropriate elegance of a James Bond villain. That works for me. But what is the motive for his actions?

The comic servants would be very amusing in another novela. I think this is a bit too discordant in a story like this because we have some moral grey areas here. That should be taken pretty seriously.

Have we been told what Salsero's and Kendra's plan is? Is it just to kill Vicky during what will look like a kidnapping attempt, so that Kendra can become the next Mrs. Brizz and have access to all the money?

If that's the plan, it doesn't seem like a good one, since Nicky is sure to be Vicky's heir, and it seems that Vicky is the one who brought her family money and connections into the marriage, not Nelson.

Thank you Madelaine for doing 2 recaps a week. Sheesh. That's a heavy load.

There is so much need for beanie wearing to make things believable right off the bat that I'm not sure how much longer I can stick to this one. If/when it gets to the point where I'm such a debbie downer, I will quit commenting so that the rest of you can enjoy it without me dumping on it so much.

But one question that I have is, if Salsero wants a bodyguard that isn't much of a bodyguard so that he can plot Vickie's demise again, why doesn't he just hire someone who he knows and who would be working for him to take Vickie down again? Jose has already proven he knows how to defend himself and Vickie.

And on the part where Jose says he doesn't want to leave his wife and daughter alone at the ranch while Jose lives at the mansion, Vickie tells him to call his wife and tell her. How does that solve the problem of them living alone at the ranch? Maybe he can move them to the mansion with him. But I guess that doesn't allow a romance to develop between Vickie and Jose.

Thanks Madelaine. I've already seen enough of this to know it's not my cup of tea. I'm a bit burned out on TNs anyway. After Refugio, I'm not sure what I'll watch, although I admit Amor Bravio is pulling me in with its clever mystery/detective plot and intelligent good guys (a TN miracle!). Still, it's on so late!!

Thanks for the recap, I'll read it soon.

Floridia - hola, amiga! It's great to see you again! :)

GatoViejo - I'm in awe. Thank you for the CCs and the translations.

Elvira, you're our angel. Thank you very much for joining us and helping us out.

And here's a lovely photo of Francisco and Eduardo dancing salsa. :)

Thanks for going above and beyond the call of duty to provide us with another recap. I was happy to read that TBLMOE will be in an upcoming novela. I've missed my numero uno telenovio.

Thanks for all the great comments.

Hey Vivi, thanks amiga. Thanks for the info on Paula. I have been thinking they must have been doing it longer, maybe while Anibal was still married. That letter I think Anibal will see too, eventually.I am also glad that this TN is doing so well. I know some of the fight scenes are cheesy but I am really getting into this TN.

Emarie- So agree with you about Jose handling the family finances lol. I wouldn't trust him either, I'd take that check book right away, but he is so darn hot!!!!

Urban- It would be great if Enrique Rocha played a good guy for a change. He played a bad guy in everything I have seen him in, including UFCS which was a comedy. I hope he is a good guy in this one, it would be interesting.

Salsero's motivation is to be the muscle, Kendra is calling the shots, to destroy Victoria. We really don't know why yet, but I have a good idea. We will have to wait to see who is the master mind behind this plan.

Vivi, I don't think they want to murder Victoria, at least Kendra doesn't. She was pithed when she found out Salsero's goons almost killed Victoria, it was just supposed to be a kidnapping. Maybe Kendra has plans of hooking Nelson another way. We will have to see how this plays out. I too think Victoria has the money, along with her Daddy Anibal, and that Nelson didn't bring anything to the marriage.

Cathyx- I think that Salsero is looking for a fall guy so to speak. I'm sure Kendra will come up with a plan that makes the blame go to Jose Angel and he will be the one in big time trouble. They are looking to place the blame anywhere but on themselves. They think Jose Angel is a country bumpkin and so will easily be blamed for another attempt on Victoria, just my opinion.

Aribeth-loved the pick of EY and Francisco dancing lol.

Urban- I know that this household staff is kinda outta place, but I really think they are meant to be the comedy relief, I really like them and think they are a hoot, especially the team of Polita and Jean Marie.

When I was watching this I swear Salsero looked like he was gonna bust out laughing, especially at the jail with Jose Angel, lol. I wonder if the actors yuk it up alot and sometimes have a hard time keeping a straight face when on the job?

Thanks for the recap; I had a chance to read it before seeing the show.

I agree with Aribeth about the good diction of the actors in this one. This is always something I look for in a TN. I was thinking that even William Levy was understandable this time until I realized that it was Sebastian Rulli instead. I think they sent him to Levy's makeup artist.

I hope that Eiza González grows into this role the way that the the equivalent snotty girl character in Llena de Amór did. She started out really annoying but eventually became hilarious and fun to listen to.

Thank you, Madelaine for a fun recap. There were so many great lines especially "hand porn" and now "eye porn." Though they are both married, Victoria and Jose are, like Jimmy Carter, lusting in their hearts. At least Victoria seems to have confidence in Jose which is more than his wife seems to have though she expects him to fix things right away. She must be given credit for their not not "losing the farm" literally, by her contacting Victoria for help.

Nikki needs to get a real job so she can appreciate all she has as a spoiled rich little heiress. I assume she has to have a transformation since she ends up with one of the hawt guys per series intro.

Lili could be a Disney character with her communing with nature (herflowering plant) and maybe bunny rabbits and little singing birds.

GinCA

I really object to the idea that everything has to have comic relief. This did not start out as a novela that lends itself to that so this really doesn't fit.

These two characters would be appropriate in EVA, but I really don't think they fit here.

UA- You're expecting too much with this one. Lower your standards and you should be fine.

Madelaine - Thanks for a fun recap. I laughed all the way. Where else can one read a great line like "our dancing evil minion." And Happy Birthday to Mr. Mads!

So first Jose Angel comes to Victoria's rescue, now she comes to his. At first I thought Jose's wife Christina was a whiner, but I like the way she did what she had to do to get him out of jail and kept quiet about the situation to their daughter. I hope Jose Angel doesn't cheat on her. The life is out of Victoria's marriage but not his.

I found Francisco going back for his deserter mom's photo very moving.

I think Nikki will come around. She's a spoiled rich girl, but she was really concerned about her mom right after the kidnapping.

Polita spinning around on the floor after meeting Francisco was a hoot. The household servants are over the top though.

Floridia - Nice to see you here again.

GatoViejo - Your caption dumps are terrific.

Gato Viejo- I too hope Nikki ends up being a great person. I just don't like her bratty, entitled ways right now. I do like that these actors are heard clearly, no mush mouth so far and I seem to be getting most of everything.

GinCa- you are so right about Vikki and Jose. They are lusting in their hearts, but I think it will be awhile before anything happens with them. I had to laugh about your remark about Lili and the Disney image, too cute, lol. Lili is very sweet, I hope she stays that way.

Niece in MD- I like your point of Vikki rescuing Jose, so true. I think Christina and Jose really love each other, but I think some things will come up where they are torn apart, just my opinion. It surprised me that Frank came back for that pic of his Mama. They will run into each other sooner or later.

Thanks so much for your brilliant recap, Madelaine! You and Aribeth are real troopers to do double-duty.

I am a little reluctant to commit for the duration right now. I hope I can, though. I think it's especially important to have more thorough recaps at the beginning of a novela, so that's what I plan to do right now (write longer ones). But sometimes near the middle or end a lot of the eps are filler and a briefer recap is enough. (To give an example, I did an impromptu recap for a recapper who went AWOL one night on LQNPA; see here. I hope that an abbreviated recap like this one I link to would be okay, rather than nothing! That might be all I'll be up for doing after a while. LOL. But like I said, I'm not talking about doing that now, I'm writing a full-on one this week and all, but I just know how it is. You get burned out after a while!)

Anyway. Yeah, I am enjoying the show so far so I can commit to at least a few weeks. Probably longer than that, but like I keep on saying, I'm "saving" myself for the upcoming Colunga and/or Salinas novelas! LOL. Hopefully more people will start to catch on and we can get ourselves a few more recappers. This really does look like it'll be a fun show.

(BTW, I'm already writing a recap for Tuesday, and it's going to be a corker, with some very fun stuff with Big Ed! Must see TV!)

Okay, about this episode: I must have missed some stuff when I was watching, and am so grateful for the recap. On Victoria and Big Ed (Jose Angel) lusting after each other. I'm a girl scout here I guess, but I'm hoping that they are more or less oblivious to how it is. Vicki is still "in love" with her worthless husband and Big Ed and Christina seem pretty happy. The audience would think less of Vicki and Jose Angel if they seriously start to lust. Christina seems like a decent woman and Vicki doesn't know what a rat bastard her hubby is. I read the synopsis for this novela on Caray (so I am not giving away spoilers—I don't know any really!) but yes, it's safe to say that based on what was already posted on Caray that Christina is gotten out of the way eventually, and it's my assumption at this point that both Vicki and Jose Angel won't "do" anything other than sigh at each other until they are "free" (emotionally and morally, if not technically) to be with each other.

Oh yes, I am completely assuming that Nicki will end up being redeemed. There's nothing villainous about her yet, she's just spoiled and probably a bit neglected. I liken her story to Taming of the Shrew, and I think Francisco is the guy to do the taming. (Just my guess.) Only I don't think he'll be abusive. But he won't take her crap, is my guess.

How many shrews has Sebastian Rulli been called upon to tame in the past? There is typecasting within typecasting in TelevisaLand, so this is a legit question.

Elvira-Any type of recap you do is gonna be wonderful and I liked the one you put the link too. I thought it was great with pics and all. I know what you mean about the middle when the TN starts to bog down a bit. I know I shorten my recaps then too, so no worries. Looking forward to your recap, I know it will be fab.

Gracias... I am loving this...So cheesy yet sooooooo good..and the recaps are delightful.

I like the servants. Polita, Jean Marie and Tomasina along with José Ángel, Francisco and Salseros give a funny You Rang, M'Lord? vibe to the show. :)

After all, this is the remake of the remake of the remake of an Argentinian show, and all Argentinian telenovelas I saw had these kind of characters. I just hope they won't become extremely annoying later.

IF noone has volunteered to recap tonight, let me know, i can do at least a short one... but if someone already picked tonight, just let me know. i can do pretty much any day this week.
and yes, madelaine, you are a bee... so many recaps... thanks!

Marta- Aribeth is doing the recap tonight and Wednesday, Elvira is doing Tuesday, and I am doing Friday. We are all set for this week. I don't have to recap anything this week but Amores. I don't recap Refugio this week cause I got preempted by the Latin Grammies, .

Marta, I forgot to ask you before. Are you going to join us in recapping this after Refugio? If you are I would like to have Friday and could you take my Thursdays then. Please let me know.

yes i would be fine with thursdays.

Marta (we have the same name :)), since you asked... could you do this Wednesday?

This week I have two deadlines at work so I would feel very relieved if I didn't have to do more than one recap in the next few days.

sure, i can take this wednesday.
