Amor Bravío #69 (Uni 64) Thu 11/22/12 Amor con pavo y calabaza

Osvaldo brings Amanda a blanket, since she's hanging out at the hospital keeping an eye on D'Andres.  Awww, you shouldn't have….  Osvalso points out that she's so busy taking care of everyone else, so she ought to let herself be taken care of sometimes.  He also brought her some of her own coffee so she won't be subjected to the swill from the vending machine.

Luzma comes home, happily telling everyone she got to see Pablo.  Piedad comes in and shushes everyone, cause Dio's in a mood.  She asks Luzma to serve the ranch hands while she takes care of Mr. Crankypants.  Piedad talks about wanting to go look into what happened to Julian and Luzma announces she's marrying Pablo for realz this time.  Everyone cheers…and gets shushed.

Camila goes back to her cabin, accompanied by the sound of cattle.  She says it's the calves moaning because they're being separated from their mothers.  She knows how they feel.  I suppose she means because it's her first night without D'Andres in a while.

Rodolfo seems to be doing a good job with the ranch.  He fills Camila in.  Ximena and Francisco come to take over the ranch, along with Alonso and Isadora.  Camila can't believe her cheek.  Ximena throws it in her face that Camila's not the real owner.  Alonso brings up the power of attorney that Francisco has.  Camila accuses Alonso of being after Ximena because he thinks she's going to get her hands on a part of the ranch.  Camila tells them all that as of right now, she's still the one in charge, so they need to cool it with the invasion plan.

Bruno goes to Vivi's and tries to wrangle a breakfast invitation as he looks like he'd like her on a plate.

Francisco insists the law is on their side, so she might as well not resist.  Agustina wants Dio to put them in their place, but he reminds her that Camila told him to stay out of ranch matters, so unless she changes her mind….well, Camila won't.  Alonso tries to tell Cam that she's lost everything…her husband, her home.  Isadora wants them all to live together until Daniel shows up.  Francisco agrees with her and tells "Camilita" not to be stupid.  He wants Augie to convince her, but Augie tells him to talk to the hand.  Ximena brags about how "these people," as Augie puts it, are now her family.  Agustina chides her for bragging about Alonso's love when he's not even divorced yet.  Ximena throws D'Andres and his supposed poverty in Camila's face, earning her a slap.  Isadora heads off the catfight.  Ximena thinks she has just as much right as Camila to be there and insists she won't go, and neither will the people *snort* she brought with her.

Vivi, unconvincingly, tells Bruno to leave or she'll call the cops.  He hands her the phone, but waits for her to dial before telling her the phone isn't working.  Vivi tries to run for the bedroom, but Bruno intercepts her.

Camila says she's going to get in touch with Daniel, since she's sure he doesn't know what they're up to.  Ximena doesn't take her seriously, and says she won't leave until Daniel or some legal authority tells her she has to go.  Agustina begs Dionisio to do something, but he says he can't, since he wasn't given his proper place in this house.

Bruno has Vivi in a choke hold on the couch, telling her that he's her only option and no one can keep him away from her. He mentions Daniel and this makes Vivi suspicious.  She realizes he's Dionisio's hacker.  Bruno denies it, but since he's working with Dio, Vivi knows he's as dirty as he ever was.

Rafael goes to the hospital.  Amanda tells him that the doctor is optimistic.  D'Andres is desperate for an update.

Bruno admits it, but says a guy's gotta make a living.  Vivi tells him to get out, and she must have shaken him up, cause he's going, even though he insists he'll be back.  He tells her, in light of his friends in low places, that she should give serious thought to getting back together with him.

Rafael fills D'Andres in on his new status as "Daniel's spy" and the fact that his daddy is also Ximena's daddy.  That's right, D'Andres…you've got a sister!  Congratusuckstobeyou!

Piedad is reeeeeally confused.  Ximena first tries to tell her she's taking over the master bedroom, but Piedad says that Agustina and Dionisio are in that room.  So Ximena settles for Alonso and Camila's old room.  She rolls her eyes at Piedad and leads her to the room.  Camila walks in and now it's her turn to be surprised as Alonso first tells her no one will love her like he does, then suggests they get back together.  Camila says they need to just get divorced already or she'll have him thrown in jail for fraud.  She suggests he consider the 3 mil as his payment and sign the divorce papers already.

D'Andres is in shock.  Rafa tells him that Dionisio didn't know either.  D'Andres wants to get the hell out of bed already, but he's still in too much pain.  Rafa tells him they've got a whole team assembled--Amanda, Osvaldo, Vivi, Aaron, Rafa--so he needs to chill.  Rafa tells him the power of attorney isn't worth anything.  They're working on finding out where it came from.  Rafa suggests that "Daniel" and Dionisio meet at last.  D'Andres is concerned about how Camila took the news about Ximena.   Not well, Rafa tells him.

Isadora thinks Ximena might be useful after all.  She also pats herself on the back for the power of attorney.  Dio texts her to meet him in the pasture.  Isa swears she'll never be poor again.

Agustina is pacing back and forth in her bedroom, complaining to Dio about their new roomies.  Dio tells her she's so darn good at driving him crazy and storms out of the bedroom.  Augie looks confused.  OK, dear, just to clarify…yes, you are annoying, however, his behavior is abusive.  GET OUT!

Osvaldo takes Amanda home and she thanks him for staying with her all night.  He wants her to know she can always count on him.  Amanda's ready to go inside and take care of her guests.

Pablo is being released from the hospital.  The doctor tells him he still needs to rest.  His dad wants to know how long before Pablo can travel.  Pablo insists he's not going anywhere.  The doctor doesn't want him going anywhere for at least a month.  Mariano says that's how it's going to be, then.  Cayetano goes to pay the bill while Mariano offers Pablo some brotherly advice…"Don't piss off dad right now, 'k?"  Mariano insists that if Pablo doesn't want to go start graduate school, he won't...but they need to play along for now.  If Pablo ends up needing to leave the ranch, Mariano will help him with an apartment and a job.  Pablo wonders how Mariano is doing with Camila.  Mariano says there are some complications.  He's not going to give up, but he doesn't know yet how it's going to go.  "She's in love with Andres."

Camila calls Rafael and leaves him a frantic message saying she needs to get in touch with Daniel ASAP!  Luzma comes into the cabin.  Camila vents to her about how upset she  is…"I can't believe you think someone is one way and find out they're completely different, I just can't believe it!"  Luzma takes the wind out of her sails with a matter-of-fact "Yes, that's happened to me."  Camila sits her down and tells her she already knows about the upcoming nuptials.  "Soon you're going to be Mrs. Chula de Albarran!"  That cracked me up!  The captions always translate the nickname "Chula" as "girl" but it's more like "Cutie" or "Sweetie."  Ah, it's nice to see Luzma happy for a while.  Luzma admits she's afraid to be too hopeful after what happened last time.  Camila assures her they'll find that nasty piece of filth Leoncio soon and offers to organize the wedding at the ranch…er, situation permitting.  Luzma happily agrees.

Ana and her grandma have been decorating Pablo's room for his homecoming.  Ana asks her grandma to help her pick out a name for the dog her dad and Camila are going to help her pick out.  Snooty Grandma tells her, "I don't want you to be like Camila.  There are other professions much more feminine and more exciting than being a veterinarian."  Shut up, ya snooty hag!  Ana pouts that she wants to be a vet and her dad agrees, so that's what she's going to study.

Cayetano doesn't think it's a good idea, but he gives in and goes to get the car while Pablo and Mariano go check on D'Andres before they leave the hospital.

Ximena surveys what she thinks is her new domain.  Probably seeing floating peso signs above everything.  She gloats that Camila thinks she's the owner, but she's not anymore.

D'Andres thanks Pablo for risking his life to save him.  Pablo says it was nothing.  "You would've done the same for me.  Plus I know you've been very good to my future wife."  D'Andres can't even handle a happy chuckle over that without hurting himself.  He says he's glad something good came out of all this.  Pablo admits that they all know about his relationship with Camila now.  "And I'm happy for you, but I also kinda wanted things to work out between her and Mariano."  Mariano, standing outside the room, has no idea what they're saying.  D'Andres looks concerned.

Aw, geez…Ximena poking at Camila again.  "If you see Andres tell him I already know his game and I don't like him taking advantage of you.  He's Daniel's spy, being paid to make you fall in love with him and to sleep with you."  Camila rolls her eyes at this.  "Wasn't it enough to be my ex's lover?"  Ximena swears it's the truth.  "Ask Andres.  See if he dares deny it."  Ximena won't let it go.  She tells Camila to think about it--Andres isn't really the ranch-hand type…or the chauffeur type…and isn't he so great at getting everyone to like him?  Ximena says the marital problems Camila was having must have worked out perfectly for him because she just fell right into his lap.  Camila insists she doesn't believe her, but she's starting to look doubtful.  As she's starting her Jeep, Ximena hangs on to the side mirror and tells Cam to thank Andres for her…"I really admire him!  He managed to scuff up Little Miss Perfect!"

Amanda apologizes to Teresa for not being around to make breakfast.  Teresa says Natalia took care of things.  She'd like to have a chat with Amanda.  She lets her know that there are no warrants out for Daniel in Mexico, so she'd like to see if she can get him granted political asylum, or even citizenship since his dad is Mexican.  That way he wouldn't be in Mexico illegally anymore.  She wants to go to Chile, though and find out what his legal situation is there and see if she can straighten it out.  First, though, she wants a meeting with Rafael, Vivi, and Aaron, because she's going to be in Chile for a while, she suspects.  She knows Daniel was incarcerated without a trial and suspects some abuse of power.

Rodolfo takes some papers over to La Bueno Aventura, surprising Natalia.  She realizes it's the same info he gave her over the phone yesterday.  Well, you know, Rodolfo just figured she oughtta have the information in writing and hey, who cares about a little walk as long as he gets to visit his crush.  Rodolfo continues trying to convince Natalia to go out with him as Ileana listens at the door.  Natalia tells him he's not pressuring her and she doesn't need more time to think about it--she's just not interested.  El pobre de Rodolfo leaves after she tells him he'd better not hang around lest the Albarran's get upset at her for chatting with him when she's supposed to be working.

Ileana catches up to Rodolfo outside to ask him if he found Natalia after all.  Rodolfo tells her he did, but he'd better go so she doesn't get into trouble with her bosses.  Ileana thought bubbles that if he's in love with Natalia, that will help her with her revenge against Yago.

Amanda starts to clean up Francisco's room and finds a note on the bed.  She runs to go interrupt Aaron's meditation to show it to him.  He sighs and calls Vivi, but she's not answering.  He tries her cell, but only succeeds in freaking her out.  She pulls it together and answers, telling him the house line isn't working.  Aaron tells her that Francisco went to invade La Malquerida, so he really needs to talk to Rafael.  Vivi tells him Bruno was there, and she's not ok, but she now knows why that Bruno is the hacker working with Dionisio.

Camila calls her lawyer and tells him she wants those divorce papers ready for Alonso to sign right away.  He says that's no problem and if he's been shagging her sister and is now living with her, then it's in his best interest to sign or be sued for adultery.  Camila mentions threatening to throw him in jail for fraud if he won't sign, but the lawyer suggests doing both.  Camila just wants to get rid of him already.  The lawyer says he'll call her back soon, hopefully with good news.  Camila thinks about Ximena's accusations and says she just can't believe her.  She remembers D'Andres seeming to stalk her right after she met him and begs God that it not be true.

Tomorrow: Dionisio gloats over Camila finding out that D'Andres is a spy; Camila tells D'Andres the cops need his ID.

I like Camila's lawyer. He's a little snakey, but he's right--why not turn Alonso in for fraud? The little toad's got it coming!

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone celebrating today!

To you too!! Today is our celebration day so relaxing before the official over-eating begins.

I've been catching up with this TN over the weekends--I just can't resist Silvia but nod off too often after ten. Finally on the current episode. Everyone's great recaps have been so helpful, I can't even say how grateful I am.

So now we move to Stage 2 where the heroine buys into the fact the good guy is actually a smuck and most likely won't let him explain. Enter Mariano ( love his, yes there is an impediment- she loves someone else. Yeah...that could be a problem.) Have to love his optimism I guess.

Sort of cracks me up that everyone is so anxious to get their mitts on the ranch, but none of them would really have a clue on how to run it. Cam and all the crew should just take a leave of absence and watch them scramble. But then, the poor cattle would suffer, so I guess we shouldn't go there.

I plan to create a tee with the slogan "Leave Luz alone!" Those smiles between her and Pablo--almost heartbreaking since you just KNOW that there will not be smooth sailing for these two yet.

Many thanks, Kat, for this great recap. I don't know how you managed to do it on Thanksgiving, but I'm certainly thankful!

I wondered about one thing you said. When Camila was listening to the calves moaning because they're being separated from their mothers and says she knows how they feel, I don't think she's thinking about being apart from D'Andres. Rather, I think she has in mind how distant she and her mother currently are. (I also think that several days have passed since D'Andres and Pablo were hospitalized, so it's not Camila's first night without D'Andres.)

I guess we're now in for some rather difficult weeks, as Camila loses faith in D'Andres (and turns to Mariano?). I fear things may not really get cleared up until after Teresa does whatever needs to be done in Chile, which she expects will take a while. Sigh.

The Caray site is asking me to prove that I'm not a robot. But perhaps I'd be better off as a robot: I wouldn't be so bothered by (I assume) the next few weeks. Oh well....

Since this is Thanksgiving weekend, I want to thank not just Kat but all the marvellous recappers. ¡Muchísimas gracias!

5ft - Thanks much for doing this admidst your Thanksgiving celebration. The pistons in my brain aren't firing 100 percent by 10 at night, so I appreciate your details on all the machinations. Enjoyed your commentary - my favorite: "Shut up, ya snooty hag!"

If Andres comes clean with Camila when she asks about his ID, I do think she'd likely believe he isn't scamming her. But if he tries to stall with excuses, he's paving the way for Mariano.

The evildoers just want to sell the land to commercial developers as soon as the ink is dry on a contract. Amazing that Dio's investors have been willing to wait this long for him to get his hands on it.

Now that Gussie sees what Hissadora is about, she should reflect back on the day she saw her at Dio's when he was wearing nothing but a robe.

So will he confess now to help Cam throw the bums off the ranch?

Great job, I love your recaps. It's difficult for me to wait to watch the episode first before I read it. If I read it first, then I usually don't watch. And the whole point of watching is for me to keep up my spanish.

It was like the Beverly Hillbillies moving into the mansion. That was so funny. And Dion is no longer able to control his dislike of his 'amor'. How much more will she take? I think now when it comes down to it, she will soon start to side with her children over him. She looks like she's starting to realize what a schmuck he is.

I agree with Juanita about the reference to the calves braying and losing their mothers. She was referring to losing her own mother as well.

Cathyx: those people turning up at the ranch was what I was talking about re: the avances. I hate smug villains the worst of any villains.

As for the baby cows crying for their mothers. That is beyond cruel.

Good afternoon, 5ft and all others who are not spending this Friday in a mall.

Great recap. Thank you for taking the time on a busy day.

I liked
>Mr. Crankypants--though he's much worse than that when he's p.o'd, Crankypants Squared?
>Invasion plan
>Congratusuckstobeyou!

NOTE: There has been an update to the Playlist (Operation Shine the Light) on AB feed. We've added our Vivi's intuitive speculation on the Amanda-Agatha-Agustina backstory she gave us a couple of days ago.

There is also a new category--who knows Camila and Andres (not Daniel) are amantes.

Dear Cat,

What a great recap! I don't know how you did it post-pig-out. After a wonderful dinner, it was all any of us at my house could do to speak let alone write something so coherent and witty.

The convolutions of this novela are so good, they draws me back with force every evening. I just hope that the writers can keep it all flowing well to the end. With still almost 100 episodes to go (my reading from looking at the numbers -- not the content-- on the resumenes from Mexico), a lot could go haywire, especially with respect to pacing.

Cathyx - The Clampetts moving into the hacienda, how perfect. I assume that Camila could have stopped it by insisting on legal consultation and representation. But then, she is an honest broker and wants an honest resolution. I agree that she should have Alonso thrown in jail.

Our Camila was certainly unnerved by Ximena's warning about Andres. And, of course, the villains still haven't put it together that the spy is in fact the real dueno.
At this point, only Ximena is really smug -- though they are all giving that appearance --and she is in for the biggest fall of the group.

Looking forward with some trepidation to tonight.

Thanks 5ft. Especially on thanksgiving day, your recaps are so worth the read. Missed Mr. 5ft input on this one. Guess he took a well deserved day off from copiloting.

Thanks so much Kat for taking time out of your Thanksgiving to give us this superb recap. It's very much appreaciated.

I felt so bad for Camila with ALL of her enemies now living under her roof. I think she didn't push to have them thrown out because Becerra told her to keep quiet about knowing the power of attorney is invalid. Of course, even knowing that doesn't diminish the stress of having all those vipers living in her house. She held her own against the whole wall of them though. Loved when she confronted Al and threatened to have him thrown in jail for fraud if he didn't sign the divorce papers, like yesterday. "What do you call taking 3 mill pesos and providing fake invoices? Ahh... FRAUD!!!" LOL!

The thing about Cami starting to believe what Xi and Al are saying about Andres being a spy is that it makes sense. There are just too many things that don't add up about Andres, and when she goes back to her very first impession of him (when he was stalking her), Andres being a spy fits. First impressions mean a lot, and she had already given him a chance to get beyond that first impression.

Thanks a bunch for a great great recap. It saved the day for me. I missed the episode because I got home after 11 from after a 3 hour drive for family dinner. I'm unable to record because my cable company has gone all digital and I haven't upgraded my recorder. Nor do I subscribe to the companies plan that would allow me to record to a hard drive. This novela is giving me a reason to rethink my options for recording.

There certainly was no shortage of crisis in that episode. I realize that there's nothing quite like a strong shoulder to cry on when your'e facing a crisis, but I still have mixed feelings about Mariano and Ana becoming Camila's comfort.

By the way, Rene Strickler (Mariano) was interviewed on El Gordo and LaFlaca a few minutes ago and he's in love with a beautiful woman. Initially I thought it was a spoiler because she looked so much like the lawyer from the novela but on second look I could see that his new love is even more attractive than the lawyer.

Vivi - I had forgotten that Osvaldo told her to keep the info about invalid claim on the ranch under her hat for now.

I do agree, too, that Camila has reason to question Andres and the flashbacks remind us of her beginnings with him. But I think also that Ximena has the ability to get under her skin in a unique way. Her taunting of Camila with regard to Alonso shook her up, and now all of this. In the same way, her mother's betrayal with that viper (great, great word) Dio has made her feel undone. She is someone who is true to everyone in her family and in the rest of her life and is hurt by their lack of reciprocity. It's hard to imagine what it would be like to have a sister like Ximena -- who is now also the half-sister of Daniel the mystery man -- and an easily duped and rather hateful-for-the-moment mother like Agustina.

In the end, they are all there under her roof. Almost too painful to watch.

Traveling Lady- "She is someone who is true to everyone in her family and in the rest of her life and is hurt by their lack of reciprocity."

This description of Camila is so right on point, and exactly why finding out that Dan and ALL her friends have been deceiving her, on top of her family betraying her, is going to be devastating. It's really going to look like Mariano The Honest is the only person she can rely on.

I am surprised that Dionisio doesn't realize that the POA is invalid.

So FX is Mexican? That's something we didn't know before. Now how long will Teresa be in Chile?

Dionisio has some nerve trying to become the head of the household. Too bad Augustina is still too stupid to see who he really is.

Thanks for the recap Kat. I hope you enjoyed your holiday!

Cam and the Vipers is an apt description of her situation. The Daniel reveal anvil is looking worse and worse.

I have to think that when the story is explained to Camila, and why all the people she is close to got involved with the deception, she will understand. It is reasonable why they did what they did, and she will know that. Especially since she already knows that Dion, Al and Isa are bad people.

I really like how everyone on the ranch is so affectionate with Luzma. The scene in the kitchen when Luzma tells Dorotea, Piedad, Rodolfo and Eleuterio about marrying Pablo was really sweet.

Thankful for the great recappers including the Great 5ft for tonight.

Vivi opens the door without asking who is there. When her ex pushes in she doesn't flee though she's at the front door. Then when she decides to flee and she is still at the front door, she runs into the living room into Bruno's arms. Vivi has had a brain short circuit unlike our brilliant Vivi DC. Writer's please don't mess up now.

Anon6:20- I thought the same thing about my namesake running through her front door as soon as Bruno entered. I think she ran in the direction of her room after she found the land line was dead because she was trying to get to her cell phone. She still should have tried to get through the front door, although he likely would have caught her before she could get all the way to the outside gate. There is a significant enough distance from her door to the gate to the street for it not to have made much of a difference.

I also don't get what drives her sometimes. She needs to be rid of this guy. At least she figured out that he was the one who hacked their e-mail.

She should have run out the door. Unlike Camila, she doesn't have a pet to protect from him.

Bruno is Vivi's kryptonite. He comes around and she turns to jelly. Obviously, she is not over the emotional and physical abuse she suffered when they were married.

Considering that her baby died and she can't have any others that's easy to understand.

Men like that should be shipped off to Devil's Island.

I really can't stand the sounds Viv makes when she's with Bruno. That wailing sound, or whatever it can be described as. It's like fingernails along a chalkboard for me.
