Weekend Discussion: Un Refugio Para El Amor; El Camino al Gran Final

Karmageddon Awaits!

Those of us who know this story well are aware of how the series title hasn't yet begun to pay off for its protagonists. We hope it will in its final week for these two have endured too much suffering. Here we will open the floor for discussion on what we hope will happen to their tormentors beginning with their queen (If anyone who lives or lived in Mexico can enlighten us on some legal points, please do):

Roselena Torreslanda, or She Who Must Be Obeyed.

Guilty of several civil crimes for which she has yet to pay:

Kidnapping of infant Luciana
Desecration of two graves (Aurora Linares and unknown infant)
Accessory to kidnapping of infant Mateo
Assault on Lorenzo Jacinto (scalding with boiling coffee)

We can debate the legality of shanghai-ing Jana to Europe to separate her from Lorenzo but we know she is massively guilty of sacrilege and blasphemy.

She has alienated her entire family all because they have refused to fit the Procrustean beds she has chosen for them.

For these crimes her sentence should be complete alienation. This should begin officially by excommunication (probably her worst nightmare) and continue with a prison sentence for those crimes that can be punished by civil law. The combined total years (served consecutively) should be more than enough to insure she will never see civilization again. When the other prisoners learn of her crimes they will make her pay in blood. Her children will never visit her and she will never see her grandchildren. There may or may not be solitary confinement or administrative segregation (There seemed to be in El Privilegio de Amar) and the prison officials may or may not choose to do this for her safety.

Gala Villavicencio or She Who Must Always Be In the Spotlight.

Guilty of:

Kidnapping Baby Mateo and leaving him to die.
Bribing various people to enable the kidnapping of Mateo and the emotional abuse of Luciana
Slandering Luciana with the magazine photos that implied a little but proved nothing.

Her stalking behavior at the doctor's office may or may not be a crime on the books in Mexico; if someone can enlighten us please do.

Her evil deeds that cannot be prosecuted include her entrapment of Rodrigo, her public histrionics specifically to embarrass him and his family, her adultery, and her emotional abuse of Luciana.

The kidnapping can land her in prison with a long enough sentence to have her there until menopause. Time will wear away her looks if the other prisoners don't cut her a few facial scars for her evil acts. This deserves all the publicity she insisted on for her fake marriage and pretense of motherhood.

Julieta de Villavicencio or She Who Must Always Have Luxury

Guilty of kidnapping Baby Mateo and leaving him to die.

She emotionally abused Luciana in concert with Gala and Roselena. She has been attempting to seduce Claudio Linares with the ultimate goal of absconding with his fortune. We can debate whether she would have the stomach to marry and murder him to do this, but I'm inclined to think not.

For her participation in the kidnapping she deserves the same prison sentence – and the same consequences of it – as her daughter. Along with standard prison uniforms and no champagne.

Boris or He Who Has an Ego Larger Than His Equipment

If stalking is a crime in Mexico, he's guilty and should go to jail for whatever the proscribed sentence for that is. Failing that, he should be shunned by all his peers, which should end with him moving far away from Jana.

Pedro Campos or He Who Would Do Anything for Dinero

Guilty of business fraud.

Whatever the sentence is for this, he should get it. Along with whoever paid him to do it.

Maximino Torreslanda or He Who Enables Roselena

He should do the same time as Campos. Whether he does time for what he did to Vicki is up to her and the law. That would be a hard case to prove at this point. Or do you think that living in Hell with Roselena all these years was adequate punishment for that?

I do think he needs some additional consequence for his enabling of Roselana. His children should shun him until he finds a way to make it up to them.

Brigida or She Who Listens at Doorways

Guilty of concealing evidence in a kidnapping

She definitely needs to pay for this one. Whatever the law demands. She'll be a good snitch in the carcel de mujeres... perhaps Gala's worst nightmare.

Don Aquiles or He Who Never Takes No For an Answer

I can't forget what he tried to do to Luciana in the opening episodes, including the responsibility for the death of Galindo. However, I'm not sure that it can be proven or that he's been paid back yet. Open for discussion.

Lastra or He Who Makes Us Lose Our Lunch

Guilty of:

Business Fraud
Sexual Harassment
Blackmail
Bearing False Witness
Money Laundering

Whatever the law can do to him is alright with me.

So... weigh in. What do you want or predict to have happen to them?

Comments:
Urban- this is fantastic and thank you for doing this.

Rosa and Max-should end up alone and isolated from their children and grandchildren. If Max owns up to what he did, maybe redemption, other than that Max has to care for la loca completely, foreva with not outside help.

Pedro Campos-since Claudio said last night he can't go to jail, I hope his conscience bothers him forever and ever to the point where he will never forget what he has done.

Don Aquiles- I really like the old reprobate, I too didn't like what he had done to Luci in the beginning, but I think he ought to officially recognize Vio and Magda as the mother of his child. He ought to share his fortune with them ,whatever that is.

Lastra- should be in jail for all the things he did.

Bore-us- ought to go far,far away and take Lula with him.

Frigid- she has taken such good care of Alexia and stuck up for her, if she somehow tells someone about that hospital bracelet before the end of this TN I vote for redemption for her.

Gagme- needs to go to jail and in the jail have the job as a domestica. She needs to do hard time, no more plotting from her.

Champagne Queen- Same spend some time in jail, scrubbing toilets. Perfect job for her.

Can't ague the punishments but I'm not as harsh with Max. I think he needs to admit what he did to Claudio to his children. His punishment will be their disappointment in him just as it was when Jana found out her hero had had an affair. He cares about his children and their happiness and 30 years with Rosa has to have been punishment enough. What ultimately happens to him will depend very much on his reactions to Rosa tossing away of his grandchild.

What went down with Vicki is another matter but she never did anything about it and while giving your mistress knockout drugs and tying her up and leaving her may be unsavory I'm not so sure it would be considered a crime worthy of a long spell in the clink.

I'm not crazy about Don A not only because of what he did to Luci and Paz but because of the way he treats everybody. He was terrible to Magda and even after finding out the truth he still treated her and Vi like dirt. He may have softened towards Vi as he faced his own mortality but he still treats other people like dirt. i think his punishment is that he knows he threw away what could have been a wonderful like long relationship with his only child.

Bore-us punishment is to end up with the whiny snob Lula and to see Jana and Lorenzo blissfully happy and highly successful.

Thanks Urban! Great post.

I really want Rosa to go to jail for her role in both baby kidnappings. But most of all, I want her to be completely shunned by her children and grandchildren and end up all alone. And excommunicated too, so that she won't have a priest to moan and whine to.

I don't think another person can be sentenced for a crime that was already paid for with a sentence, hence Pedro Campos and Max are not in danger of jail time. But I want Max to be busted for his money laundering (and likely tax evasion) in his clubs, and for Lastra to be taken down with him. More than jail time for Max, I want him to be unmasked in front of his kids, to lose all their respect, and to end up stuck alone with Rosa for the rest of their lives. No mistresses!

I want Gala and Julie to lose all their money and go to jail for the baby kidnapping and attempted murder.

Boris should slink into the sunset and marry Lula. If he tries to harm Lorenzo or Hannah in any way in this plan with Rosa, he should go to jail. He already hit Lorenzo with his car once before.

UA--This will be great to contemplate over the next few days. I'll have to digest the post and comments slowly and savor all the possibilities.

Don't forget that Max and Lastra are also laundering money through the antros. That's illegal, but beyond what I would call business fraud.

Also, our poor Aldo has knowingly or unknowingly been an accomplice in this endeavour. Maybe he could just be fined.

What about Lula, do we want her to suffer a little bit, just for being a snob?

And will Don Chelo have to be charged with something, legally, since he knew that child had been disposed of and should have turned him over to the authorities.

Will we get to see the Sanitary Engineer cornered and punished for aiding and abetting Gala in luring Luci out in the rain?

It's interesting, in the US, double jeopardy just protects a defendant from being brought to trial again for the same crime once acquitted. It doesn't protect the true criminal if later evidence exonerates someone who was found guilty of the crime. I think in the US, both Max and Pedro Campos could be arrested, and they would be charged with a conspiracy against Claudio anyway, not the original fraud.

Many thanks, UA, for putting up this topic. I like it better than doing the poll/guess about the outcome.

If Roselena goes to prison, Max won't be stuck with her; he'll be free of her. He can then get a divorce with no problems and he can have all the mistresses he can afford.

Assuming he doesn't go to prison for money laundering.

I can't imagine that Don Chelo will do any time for failing to turn Mateo in. As pointed out elsewhere that child is much safer where he is right now than he would have been before Gala's and Julie's departures. Rod and Luci will be so grateful they will do something for him and Dona Chuy.

I know, we don't want anything to happen to Don Chelo and Dona Chuy, but....The Law is The Law...and many injustices have been committed in the name of the law. Some ambitious court clerk may decide Don Chelo is guilty of kidnapping or at least absconding--IF Rod & Luci Or, Heaven Forbid, RE say something.

Since this a discussion, I want to be sure that I get this right.

So my first comment and question is---I dislike/despise Rosalena as much as anyone but is she really guilty of kidnapping baby Luciana? Wasn't Luciana given to her by Ahora when Ahora knew that she was dying?
more this weekend---the gringo

Good question Gringo...Well, since she did not inform the only living parent of the existence of Luci (didn't matter if CL was in prison, he had the right to decide what was to become of his child), and faked the baby's death in order to do what whe wanted with the child, then yes, I consider it kidnapping.

UA, thanks for posting this thought-provoking discussion for the weekend.

RE - Are we sure she didn't have something to do with Aurora's death? Maybe it was by omission by not getting her all the medical help that would have saved her. We do know that she wanted both Aurora and Luci dead.

I hope they clear up the mutilated doll mystery. We saw a flash back of some sort and once Max mentioned something the doll. Something must have happened!

wow, Urban, this is awesome! (no pun intended, i am not a wrestler).
and i haven't even read it, but you woke me up. i was about to post a discussion header for tonight's ep and head to sleep but you woke me up and inspired me to do a recap tonight so i am reading this masterpiece more slowly to enjoy every bit, and then will do my recap...

btw,
what Don Aquiles had done to Luci (and to Galdino)...
Don Aquiles apparently used to buy Galdino's farming product to sell. When there was a dry period (a little before Rod and Pato got to SFeA for the climb) Galdino went to Don Aquiles, apparently he owed money and Aquiles loaned him money (or extended the pay period) but in exchange asked Galdino for the title docs to his house and farm. Then he had someone burn the farm so the Jacinto Flores family would end up ruined. But at seeing his farm in flames, Galdino had a heart attack and later died, so during the watch of his body at his house, Aquiles showed up and came up with the story that Galdino had asked him to look after his family, inclusive had 'given' him Luci to marry.
Luci and Paz did not buy the story so Luci did not want to marry him. He forced them out of their house soon after, and they moved in with Magda. Shortly after that Luci was kidnapped by Don Aquiles and locked in his house... the town police got her out of there. So he is guilty at least of extortion and kidnapping.

I keep thinking about Lastra/Max and money laudering. Do we really know that for sure or are they just guilty of tax evasion. In any case in many Latin countries tax evasion is almost an art form and is considered something smart not criminal. It's a way of sticking it to the man.

Decie--You may be right. We do know he was cooking the books and the money from the antro was never part of the grupo de legitimate Torreslanda Enterprises. So, it was never clear whether he was using it to launder money or to make money illegally. Lastra would certainly have had to file taxes, but tax evasion may be it.

He did keep his position as head of the Inferno a secret from everyone except Lastra until Aldo hacked into the accounts. That would be one time Max & Lastra should have been keeping the accounting in books and not in a computer.

Vivi---Rosa did not inform the only living parent because she thought that Luciana was the daughter of Aurora and Maximino and Aurora had died. So again I ask---is that kidnapping?
the gringo

Thanks UA.

Rosa needs to be in jail not the nut house. She has been clearly evil since the start of the TN. And Gringo, she lied about the baby dying and gave it to someone else; I would call it kidnapping b/c ultimately she took Luci away from her father.

Gagme/Julia - give them jail time too.

Max/Lastra - should also have jail time with Max being estranged from his family.

Bore-us/Lula - tormenting one another in marriage 'til death do they part.

Pedro - dedicate himself to some type of community service

It would still be kidnapping if Max were Luci's father. RE also lied about whether the baby lived in order so that no one would look for her.

Hi everyone....so busy with children and grandchildren visiting, didn't see this until today. Thanks so much for the topic and for the pictures Urban. You have a gift for these issues and for finding just the right pictures. Gracias talented lady.

Not sure what punishment I want for all these characters. They have already received some of their punishment in the sense that none of them were really loved.

They all has such walls around their hearts that no real tenderness or affection could get through. They lived within their own minds, and their minds were full of jealousy, envy, disdain, contempt and hate.

Time after time, they traded their integrity for money or social status and power. They lived without honor and without tenderness.

All are liable for civil punishment. As for the rest, if you accept the fact that these stories rest on a substratum of Christian faith, then the moral and emotional punishment must be left up to God.

But we can always hope!....

JudyB--Thank you for doing the thinking for me. It's what I would have liked to have said--they've been living their punishments all their lives (at least their adult lives that we know of).

That said, starting from the bottom and letting my mind run amuck:

Lula and Bore-us. Lula will pine away wanting Bore-us, will put out for him, but will never get him. She ends up working as a copy editor for a gossip rag, maybe at Gala's magazine.

Boris will not accept the fact that Janah chose someone else and was ok with going along with RE's plan to kidnap Janah on her wedding day. What he was planning to do with her afterwards was probably not considered. Boris will likely go to work (not working) for his dad and has a string of first dates and when he gets grabby and pushy, it never leads to a second date. He seeks out Lula for consolation. He's obsessed with conquest, but has no luck with long-term relationships. He will probably end up as an international playboy.

Be back later to work my way up.

Does anyone else think that Boris is sufficiently obsessed to not only kidnap Jana but possibly think to kill her so nobody else can have her?

Yikes...I hadn't thought of that, Urban A. Sure hope not. So far, he's just been a supremely annoying twit who's his own worst enemy when it comes to wooing a gal. But given the level of violence against women in Mexico, it IS a possibility. Ugh.

....I think I'll do one comment for each of our punishable characters. So, to continue:

Matilde:
Yes, Matilde, for being an enabler and never trying to help Roselena, only protecting her from being exposed. She saw from the very beginning what RE was capable of--giving Luci away and never telling Claudio he had a daughter who was alive (whether RE believed she was Max's or not). Mati was the closest person RE had to a friend, but that social class/employer-employee chasm probably was what kept Mati from trying to seek help for her. She could have confided in Conny, I think.

Of course, she wouldn't be punished by the law, but seeing the accelerating melt-down of mi Niña will hurt her to the core.

She needs a few sessions with Padre Honesto. My hope for Mati is that she goes to work for Pato in his own apartment, since there won't be anyone left in the old homestead and the place is toxic and needs to be sold and/or razed.

WOW!!! Comments are going to run for miles on this one. As it stands right now---

Gala---Guilty of kidnapping and attemped murder. She is certainly guilty of emotional abuse although that would be hard to prove. Also she is guilty of entrapment, adultry and being a bad mother, but these are not criminal issues. I hope that she looses her windfall and is in jail long enough to take her beauty and pride away from her. Put her on the jail clean up squad. Her main equipment should be a mop and scrub brush. Take that prison janitor!

Julie---She did conspire in the kidnapping plot but can that be proved in court, I'm not sure. So far, I don't think that she has done anything that can be proven or that would send her to jail. So I vote to take away her champagne and make her work the rest of her days as a domestica with a snappy "yes senora, right away senora."

Maximino---Guilty of business fraud but again, what are the statute of limitations? Money laundrying--do they have enough evidence to prove it? He should be degraded in his childrens eyes for the rest of his life.

Pedro Campos. ---Yes, guilty of business fraud but---the case is closed on that one. He cannot be prosecuted under Mexican law. What should happen to him? Not sure at this point. Will read all the comments.

Bore-us---Being a JERK with a HUGE ego isn't a crime. Let him mary Lulu and be miserable.

Brigida---witholding evidence. Should get some jail time. Would make a good prison snitch.

Don Aquiles---Attempted rape and the kiddnaping of Luciana. Charges were not pressed on the attempted rape but were on the kidnaping but he got off due to his influence and a crooked police department. He did cause or was responsible for Galindo's death, but how to prove it? The old codger shure had a shady beginning but has since tried to mend his ways. I would like to see him get down on his knees and beg forgiveness from Magda, also from Luciana. Violeta has already forgiven him. For Galindo's death, he will have to ask God's forgiveness on that one.
the gringo

Aldo:
For being the Max-in-training, he needs to be called on the carpet for knowing and participating in Max's illegitimate antro enterprises.

Ok, maybe they aren't illegitimate businesses, but Max was doing something fishy with the books and Aldo was emulating him. Conny will probably be surprised and disappointed in him when it is all exposed and Melissa is going to be embarassed to be his sister. After all, she's a champion of human rights--and by extension, women's rights. The business Aldo is engaging in is pure and simple, exploitation of women and providing an outlet for men's sexual fantasies (I don't care if Violeta could sing.)

For Aldo, disgrace in his family's eyes is sufficient punishment, but there may be some multas involved. If Vicky is smart, she'll dump him, but I fear that if Max loses his fortune (somehow) and goes to jail, her sugar daddy will have disolved and Aldo is still there hanging around. I don't think Aldo will learn any lessons from this. He's the first one to admit he's no good at book-learning, so he has to live by his wits. Lorenzo will probably buy him out (I can't remember how Aldo used that briefcase full of cash, 'cause we didn't really see it being spent before we got the time jump--other than telling Max he used it as ordered, but if he invested any of in Lorenzo's taco business, Lor needs to distance himself). Losing Lorenzo as a friend will also be fallout.

I think Aldo will eventually run for public office and win a seat in the legislature, where his cunning and back-room and under-the-table smarts will come very much in handy.

Hey, gringo, thanks a lot. Now I don't have to finish my list. You've got some good ones there. (Well, maybe a few more, later.)

Pedro Campos:
He's been punished metaphysically by having had to be on the run for twenty years--or at least racing the last five after testifying for Claudio. Whether he has any chargeable offenses lodged against him does depend on the statute of limitations. He will need to be on the run again to stay out of Max's way in fear of retribution. I doubt Claudio will help him, although grateful for coming forward with the truth.

Maybe Claudio will suggest the federales put him in a Witness Protection Program and put him on a paltry monthly allowance to cover an apartment in the poorer side of town and offer him a cover job as a short order cook or valet parking guy. He had plenty of time to live the good life.

Lastra:
Jail for his role in cooking the books and tax evasion. When he gets out, he'll have nowhere to go, checks in on Ofelia, but she's married and living in a nice apartment across town. He'll live out in the rain in el parque--he ought to be used to that by now.

He'll catch pneumonia and taken to the Cruz Roja, fed chicken soup, but dies due to a kink in his IV.

Oh! I forgot Lastra and I despise him the most-- what an evil minded creep. Running an illegal business = jail for sure. I hope he dies in there.
the gringo

Rosalena---I want to think about this one and read more comments on her. Jail or the psycho ward? Or could it be a psycho ward within the jail? Her children rejecting her, a lot of possibilities. Will weigh in later.
the gringo

Moving up the ladder...

Don Aquiles:
We have not been privy to all the wicked, harmful behavior towards the other inhabitants of HetHet. He's been concentrating on rooking or hoodwinking everyone to the best of his ability and use his wileyness to amass a fortune and then terrorize everyone with his almightiness. Despite all the candles and good wishes, I don't think he was very beloved in the pueblo.

Remember his beans with worms in them? He probably bought them as salvage (I heard of that a long time ago, goods that had been salvaged from truck or train wrecks being sold for pennies on the dollar).

His taking over Paz' house and using it as a warehouse...and I don't care that he gave it back. He wouldn't have if it hadn't been for Claudio revealing that what he had done was illegal.

His other sins toward Magda and Luci have already been mentioned. So maybe he's turned into an old softy now that he knows he's got a daughter. Big hoo-ha. Violeta is the only one that it really matters to.

Punishment for Don Aquiles is for his illness to become chronic and completely debilitating, to the point that he is bedridden and has to depend on others for his care, from bathing, shaving, feeding and cleaning out his chamber pot. Loss of dignity, that's the term I was looking for, since he so loved steamrollering over everyone else in HetHet.

Anita---Love your comments. There are som great thinkers out in Caray, Caray! land.
the gringo

Gingo

Great thinkers yes, but don't screw with us. LOL

Rosa - manicomio or prison.

It has to be prison. In a manicomio it is just another place to escape punishment. She will never admit what she has done and is still doing is wrong After all she is now God's chosen Enforcer.

Best of all would be to be shunned by her children, never knowing her grandchildren, dumped by Max and ignored by Conny and Mati. It should be as if she has dropped off the face of the earth.

Gringo--I'm still thinking about RE myself. We know that psychotherapy didn't work for her, neither did her sessions with Padre H. She probably just needs to be caged and fed so she can't harm others anymore. Her children and grandchildren can visit on Sundays from 2-4.

Continuing...

Brigida:
She has been a nasty piece of work since day one. A Hispanic Mrs. Danvers. Once we learned that she was keeping a diary of juicy happenings for a big novela of her own, starring Rodrigo as a bodice-ripping galan, we wondered about her own background. She had no family, soured on life in general, had to work for a living, but lucky to gain the trust of the senora of an important household. Still, she wasn't happy and lost no opportunity to make Matilde's life miserable.

Luciana showing up, young, attractive, capable, instantly liked by the young people in the house, posed a threat. She found an ally for her feelings in RE and Gala. Too bad she picked the wrong side. Threat? Well, Rod's interest in her and the obvious possibility that this domestica was going to "rise above her station," something Brigida could not bear.

Her biggest crime was not coming forward with the knowledge she had (overheard in the garden, remember?) about the 3 brujas planning on making Luci's baby disappear and later keeping quiet about the bracelet for so many years. MONEY matters to Brigida--although lord knows what she would spend it on.

I don't know if this consitutues jail time or a fine with community service. But either way, she needs to be taught a lesson. She will be reprieved and rehabilitated, as most of us think, because she has been so caring for Alexia. Think of how much damage Alexia would have suffered to have two abusive women caring for her instead of one. I think Rod will go to bat for her.

But five years of lost time with their child may be too much for Rod to trust her around her children, especially since right up to the end, she's still in cahoots with Julie & Gala--hoping there's more money to be had.

Had she stepped forward earlier, there'd be no guarantee the child would have been recovered, since Mateo didn't come through official channels.

It would also have been more complicated getting Rod and Luci back together. If Roddy had been recovered, Luci would have taken him and gone back to HetHet to raise him. Instead, they were forced to wait until Gala got sick of Rod and divorced him, so at least the possibility of reconciliation is there.

Well everything has already been well said!

I don't wish for life long torment for Max. This character has been so complex... good in with the bad. I think he needs to open his eyes and understand how he has hurt others around him and earn the trust and respect of his children back over time. CL could be a really great mentor for him on how to live an honest life! In doing all of this he also needs to leave Vicky alone!

Anita - I like what you have said about Brigida. She has kept one of Rod's children away from him and given the other love as a mother-type figure. Rod probably shouldn't trust her around either of his children henceforth. I wouldn't trust someone who kept information about my child's kidnapping from me with another one of my children! Her losing Alexia would probably be a big punishment for her as Alexia is probably the only human being she loves. Is that enough? I don't know.

Rosa - I'm surprised she hasn't shown up in my nightmares! Some of her scenes have been truly chilling. I agree with others that she is a superb actress.

Before this ends, I hope we see Aldo start taking his business advice more from Oscar than from Max!

Boris and Lula should move in together because he doesn't care and she doesn't mind. They can move into the apt his parents bought, but then his father finds out about his plans to kidnap Hannah and disowns him. He is then forced to get a job selling tacos. Lula ends up pregnant and her parents send her to a convent.

Mirko takes all of Gala's money and that's the end of champagne for Julie, so she ends up drinking cheap wine out of a paper bag on skid row. Gala has to take a job driving a trash truck and drives by skid row every so often and throws cheap booze at Julie, then keeps going.

Roselena goes crazy and hangs out at the cemetery cursing Aurora and gets caught trying to dig up graves and is locked up. Every time they let her out she does the same thing and it's like Ground Hog Day forever - cemetery, jail, out; cemetery, jail, out - lather, rinse, repeat.

Hahaha!I love this final discussion and reading your suggested punishments apps for our favorite objects of hate. They remind me of when I was young and there was the Sunday funnies and an illustrated cartooned pictures of life in hell for the sinners. Various sinners are shown with their respective punishments. Their sins are equal to a kind of punishment that they loathe happen to them. If one fear or hate the snakes then he is covered up to his ears with snakes, and so on.
Well let me see:
For RE-as I previously blogged, I want her to be exposed or for her to own up to all her sins, then become homeless and subjected to dire poverty, dig for food in the trash and afterwards for her to go crazy.Same thing for Gala and her mom, that they experience what they hated most in life to have nothing to eat or drink, nowhere to live and be as dirty like hobos before they land in jail where they are mistreated by their jailmates.Brigida can still be redeemed (if only because she was kind to Alexia)if she shows Rod the hidden bracelet. Boris and Lula can both go to hell for all I care. lastra should go to jail for money laundering. I should say together with Max but I can forgive Max when he right away asked forgiveness from his children. But the law is the law. Mr A is already dying and has since repented and mended his ways. Mr Chelo and Mrs Chuy thank goodness they brought up this child beautifully. They meant no harm to him. I hope everything works out well with them. And before I forget I hope they find that janitress and she gets jail time for causing this mess. I hope too that Valentina gets to be friend with luciana. And finally can Pato finally see right in front of him his future wife, Namurashi?

UA, I wish for jail time and poverty for Gala. I'm not sure Julie committed an actual crime (?) but poverty is a fitting and deserved "punishment".

Rosa's punishment is surely to continue her mental torment. Let's hope she takes up permanent residence in the appropriate prison or facility.

Diana

Thanks UA for this comment section--it's really great.

Decie Girl and Anita---I would always be minding my p's and q's around you two, you guys are tough.

Bore-us---If Bore-us tries to go through with Jana's kidnapping, it's jail time for him. He will need plenty of time behind bars to think about his over inflated ego.
the gringo

I'm running out of time and space.

Gala and Julie:
They've operated as a unit since the beginning of the story when Julie reappears in her daughter's life, and Gala not entirely too pleased about sharing her loft with Julie.

Julie is guilty of toasting and drinking champagne when it's uncalled for (over kidnapping plans); egging on Gala to take Rod in body, sould and pocketbook. She relegates said daughter to a miserable 5 years of her life just to satisfy her insatiable thirst for champagne and the good life.

She keeps her hands clean by acting as lookout and planner, but not actor in RE's and Gala's schemes. For her role in the kidnapping, as part of a conspiracy, she DOES need some jail time. For her other transgressions, I agree with everyone else's punishments, so to save space I won't repeat them. Jail duds, no hairdresser, no nail salon, no champagne, eating off plastic trays and scrubbing the industrial sized kitchen equipment and serving on mouse and cockroach patrol is what I wish for her.

Oh, and she WILL lose all that money, so when she comes out, I mentioned it over on Refugio, she'll become a barfly, sitting at the end of the bar, batting her eyes at every sucker in hopes that someone will buy her her next glass of champagne.

As for Gala, nothing is too good as punishment. She has been an evil conniving b*tc*, and certainly NOT certifiable. So (as we saw in the previews), getting punched by Luci is a good start. May she lose her front teeth in that one.

She'll be surprised if it turns out RE is the snitch and not FrBrigida, but she'll be pithed at FrBr anyway. She'll hate Luci and Rod even more when they are successful in having her parental rights terminated for Alexia.

The punishment for Gala's complicity in the kidnapping has to be jail time. Longer in the clink than Julie. But she will also have all her personal property expropriated for prison-issued garb. Oh, and she and Julie will get short, bobbed, prison haircuts and have to use Prell and their hair color will revert back to natural (Julie's is already getting grey, haha).

Fernanda will be the only one who comes to visit either one of them in prison, but then she starts making excuses why she can't make the monthly trip to the reclusorio and gradually the visits stop. Luci and Rod come once at Easter with Alexia, but Gala refuses to see them (whew--that obligation is now out of the way for them).

Gala will also lose her money and of course replaced at the magazine. Someone bought out her shares (probably Pato or Aldo), but the money was confiscated to pay their fines.

Mirko and Rene turn out to be lovers and head for Monaco to live it up. When the money is gone, they start looking for another sucker, this time in Brazil.

"Mirko and Rene turn out to be lovers and head for Monaco to live it up."

Haha! I love that Anita. Love your whole scenario for Julie and Gala.

Julie should get jail time for naming her only child after a big party...

I'm all Refugio-d out. Everyone's punishments for Max and RE (who are at the top of my list) are great.

Like Don A, who escaped our punishment by dying early, I feel Roselena is going to be treated with leniency by the script writers. Maybe they feel that descent into madness is appropriate--but WE wanted her to KNOW that she's being punished for what she set in motion by
1. Giving Luciana away
2. Being complicit in Max's defrauding of Claudio--since she got to live well of the misbegotten gains
3. The manner in which she separated Rod and Luci.
4. Conspiring in the theft of her own grandson from Luciana.

So, unless she gets jail-time or loses contact with her children, and knows it, Viewerville won't feel satisfied.

If Max loses his money, company and prestige, that's good enough for me. He can move in with Vicky while RE will have to be committed to a public institution and the Mansion sold.

Maybe Vio will buy it and turn it into a high-class, high-tech car wash in the middle of that high-income residential neighborhood. With all those empty rooms, she could run a B&B and have Estelita come live with her and make tacos for her, too.
