Amores Verdaderos #2 Thu 11/8/12 A Tale Of Two Hawt Guys and Their Problems; One Gets a Job Offer
Our two hawt guys, that would be Jose Angel and Francisco of course, are having a myriad of problems. Jose Angel's house might be going into foreclosure and Francisco is having a hard time finding a job. What went on with our hawt guys last night you ask? Read on to find out!
Hacienda Balvanera:
It is the aftermath of the attack on Victoria, she won't let Jose Angel go. She is clinging to him like a sweater with static cling, until the Nanna comes out. I am calling her the Nanna, cause later she calls Victoria, mi nina. The Nana asks if everyone is ok? I have to say here, where was she during the screaming and yelling, fighting, etc ? Must have been watching her telenovela, lol. Anyhoo, Jose Angel tells her to call the popos and an ambulance. While she goes to do that, Jose Angel gets Victoria to sit down, as she cries, and he tells her to remain calm it is better for her. He goes to leave, but she doesn't want him to go. He just wants to go check on the people that were hurt. He wants her to trust him. He goes as she watches him. Now she picks up her cell phone!!!! It was right there on the table, couldn't she have picked it up and called the popos herself? Guess not. Instead she calls Nelson and tells him a group of men got into the hacienda and tried to kill her, as she is crying like crazy. Meantime, the bad guys, with their injured team member, are making their escape in that black SUV they came in on. One of them kicks the security guy for good measure. Seeing the coast is clear Jose Angel unties the gatekeeper and tries to revive him.

Salsero, our resident bad guy, is talking to the photographer, Aldo, and they are waiting for Nelson. Nelson comes in to cancel the shoot, somethings come up. Nelson says something is up with his wife, very upset when she called, is taking his daughter and is on the way back to the hacienda. Salsero and Kendra so not happy, awww their mis planes went awry!
Hacienda Balvanera:
Shut the front door, Shirley, the popos have arrived along with the ambulance. These are not your run of the mill mall cops either (Thanks Cynderella), they are actually going to investigate. The ambulance takes off and these cops are armed to the death with assault weapons, who knew! The hacienda is surrounded by cops armed to the teeth. Jose Angel comes back to Victoria and tells her the employees are going to the Red Cross by ambulance and the cops have surrounded the hacienda.Victoria can't get over the violence and be still my overly beating heart, Jose Angel APOLOGIZES to Victoria for the part he played in the violence, are you kidding me???? She just thanks Dios he was there to save her. He explains to her how his truck broke down, he was coming to see her at five, and just happened to be there when he was most needed. Well you get the pic. Ah, that smooth grin and those sexy eyes, ahhh. Ok, I'm back. He introduces himself to Victoria. The Commandante comes in and wants them to come give statements at the station, and Jose Angel is walking away and kinda hiding behind Victoria? Why is Jose Angel doing this? Has he got a past? Makes one wonder. Victoria looks at him a little funny and he shyly grins at her. Of course, they are going. Victoria wants to know who was responsible.

Polita, the short lady, Tomasina the taller lady and Jean Marie (love his name) are talking about what happened to Victoria, and by the grace of Dios she was saved! Love Jean Marie's do rag, lol. Jean Marie tells the ladies that Nikki and Nelson are on the way to Victoria now and its really good they are going.
Santa Rita Amatian, Morelos, Police Station:
The Commandante is asking Victoria if she knows who could have done this, she says no, but for the grace of Dios, I am here cause Sr. Arriaga saved me. He nods and smiles and they gaze at each other.
Beatriz and Leo's Home in the D.F.
Beatriz (Susana Gonzales) is clearing the side of the table in her home. Her husband Leo (Julio Camejo- y'all might remember him as de la Vega, Francisco de la Vega, from Destilando Amor), comes in gives her a look, not nice either. They seem to be waiting for someone. Ah, they are waiting for their son, and Leo isn't happy he isn't there, he is about to go out. There is a knock on the door and its their son Guillo and hawt guy number two, his Tio Francisco. Seems Leo loves his son, and is jealous that he was out with his Tio. Leo has to go to work and slams the door. Francisco is like QTH is wrong with him. Beatriz says he is jealous of Francisco.
Santa Rita Amatian, Morelos Police Station:
Victoria is done with her statement and the Commandante wants to know if she would like a lift back to the hacienda, she tells him no, she's called her husband and he is on the way, now the press are there, wanting a statement about what happened. She tells them she was attacked and then saved by a good guy. The press are congregating outside too. Nelson has arrived and the tv people are out in force too. They try to get a statement but Salsero moves them aside and Nelson makes no comment. Inside Victoria is calling her Papa Anibal and telling him what happened and about the Angel that saved her. She will pick him up tomorrow at the airport. Nikki comes into the station too and there is no comment from her. Nelson and Nikki come in and Nelson holds her hands and Nikki, no trace of the bratty girl she was yesterday, is so glad her Mama is alright. Victoria wants to know who would want to kill her, and Salsero, sin sunglasses, says not wanting to kill but kidnapping, I'd have asked him how he came to that conclusion, but meh. She says so not a kidnapping attempt they wanted to kill her. Nelson and Nikki want to know about the guy that saved her. Victoria doesn't know much about him, except he wanted the job as the capataz at the hacienda, but she does know his name Jose Angel Arriaga. Salsero listens to this and is taking notes, in his vengeful brain that is. He says to himself a stumbling block in my path!
Kendra's Apartment in the D.F.
Oh, look, our villana, Kendra has her glass of red vino as she watches T.V. Then the reporter says they have important news out of Morales and go to the special reporter Daniella Vega who tells what happened to Victoria. Kendra is pithed and flings the remote control, a la Aaron Montalvo, and calls the rescuer a wretch.
Arriaga Rancho:
Lili comes out to greet her Papa so glad he is ok. They play a little game of you sure, you sure, very cute. Christina comes out and wants to know what happened at the Balvanera's. Jose Angel doesn't realize news travels fast.
Hacienda Balvanera:
Nelson tells Victoria he wants to hire security to keep them safe, and Nikki comes in and says she can't sleep. Nelson tells them not to worry, cause the cops are guarding the hacienda. Fortuno, the gatekeeper, and Dorio the security guard come in with the Nana, and Victoria wants to know how they are. Dorio has an ace bandage wrapped around his head, lol, and Fortunato looks none the worse for wear, he's got a bandage on his ear. Fortunato says they are ok and the doc gave them medicine for pain. Victoria wants them to get some rest and leaves Nana in charge of this. They go. Nelson wants Victoria to go get some rest and Nikki volunteers to help with something, please comment. Nelson and Nikki go too, and this leaves Victoria with Salsero. She tells Salsero, she wants all the info he can dig up on Jose Angel Arriaga. Salsero wants to know why? She says he saved my life and I want the info now. Of course, Senora he says, with that evil gleam in his eye. After Victoria goes, he gets on his cell and calls a buddy to go into the police files and see if he can dig up all the info he can on one Jose Angel Arriaga and he wants this info STAT! Now Kendra calls Salsero and wants to know if he is stupid! There was just supposed to be a kidnapping I think, not attempted murder. He'll get back to her, Click!

Christina and Lili are just overwhelmed that Jose Angel saved Victoria's life. Christina starts in with, did she reward you as in money? She is rich enough, she can afford it. Jose Angel doesn't want her money, he did it out of the goodness of his heart. Well, Christina is just pithed! Well did he get the job as the capataz? Ok Christina, STFU, where you there? In the middle of all that mayhem he is gonna ask for a job, as if. Lili tries to calm mama mean down. She is sooo worried about them losing everything. There is a verbal argument, Christina's opinions don't matter, yadda, yadda, and she goes off in a huff. Lili tells papa, mama is just overwhelmed with worry and Jose Angel promises he is going to the D.F. manana to take care of the problem. Lili is happy that her Papa saved Victoria. I like this girl, so much like her Papa.
Francisco Guzman's Place, D.F.
Francisco is working on his resume on his laptop. His Papa, Felipe, comes in wanting to know what his son is working on. Francisco tells his papa he needs to complete his resume cause tomorrow he is looking for a job. Now we find out about Hawt Guy number 2's problem, his papa Felipe owes 5 million pesos and is heavily in debt. Francisco is pithed and says ok he will get the money from the bank, manana, and his papa promises to pay him back shortly. I think the papa is also looking for work.
Balvanera Hacienda:
We have a cute scene with Nikki tuckin' her Mama into bed and is just so happy her mama is alive. What a difference from yesterday. I guess she really does love her mama.
Salsero on the phone with Kendra at Hacienda Balvanera:
Change of mis planes. Salsero says he has a new plan. Since Victoria wants Jose Angel Arriaga to be investigated, he will make a fake resume making Jose out to be some superhero, er, super guardaespaldas (bodyguard). This campesino took out the whole team! So if something comes up, Victoria will think she hired a professional when in fact, Arriaga is no such thing. Kendra is liking this plan. Meanwhile, upstairs there is some chaste cuddling goin' on between Nelson and Victoria. They plan on returning to the D.F. manana where they will be safe.
Arriaga Ranchero:
Ah, now this is more like it. We have another cuddle of a different sort. Jose Angel and Christinia are in the cama and they are really snuggling. Bare skin alert, cause Jose Angel is nekkid, from the chest up it seems, cuddling with his head on Christina's boobies. She wants forgiveness for her rant earlier. Salsero has produced the fake resume of Jose Angel and Victoria is so pleased. She wants to know how he got this info. He has contacts with the police and that's how he got the info. As he is smarming to himself he lays it out for Victoria that Jose Angel is an expert in his field of protection.
Ranchero Arriaga:
Jose Angel is on his way to the D.F. to fix the foreclosure of his ranchero problem and Lili gives him the blessing. Christina wants him to call her, once he gets the info from the bank. He tells them not to worry. He assures Lili he will fix the problem with the bank, and starts to go and she is riding on the side board of the truck, but another vehicle is coming down the drive and he has to stop. It is wait for it, Salsero and Victoria of course. Jose Angel wants to know what is going on, but of course Salsero ignores him and opens the door for Victoria. He is happy to see her and grins a wide grin. He wants to know what she is doing there. She tells him she had him investigated cause he saved her life and wanted to know about him. He is shyly looking down, while Salsero is givin' him the stink eye. Lili comes up and introduces herself and shakes Victoria's hand. She tries to shake Salerso's but he ignores her. Victoria hands Jose Angel an envelope loaded with dinero. He is shocked at the amount and hands it right back to her, and says truly it's ok, I don't want it. She tries to press him to take it, but he refuses. She wants to know if he is still looking for a job, he thinks it is the capataz job, he'll take it, but she has a better offer. Christina comes up and Lili gives her the 411 that this is Victoria the woman Jose Angel saved, how elegant is she? And that she offered Jose Angel money, he wouldn't take. Christina so not happy with this. Meanwhile, Victoria offers Jose Angel the job of bodyguard, bodyguard he says. He starts to guffaw, he can't believe it, Salsero steps right in and says don't laugh, this is serious, she has offered you a job to protect her. Jose Angel wants to know this guys name. Victoria tells him Salsero and with the belly laugh can't stop laughing. Of course Salsero isn't likin' that, no siree bob, and says his name is Santino, and Victoria says Salsero is a good dancer, while Jose Angel keeps laughing. After he stops laughing he says thanks, but no thanks, I'm a good 'ole country boy, like the fresh air, the land, etc and even does a move like dancing and Salsero says in his opinion Jose Angel would be perfect for this job. Jose Angel says that's his opinion but no thanks. Of course, Christina butts right in, and wants to know what is goin' on. She hears about the job offer and Christina thinks he ought to take it. Victoria gives Jose Angel her card and tells him to think about it and let her know, just think about it. He is still not down with it, but says he needs to go to the D.F. something really important for him to do. So Christina is pithed and Victoria hands Christina her card too, and tells her to convince her husband to just take the job. Christina is so down with that. Christina will soooo convince him. Victoria and Salsero go, they are going to the airport to pick up her Papa. She isn't completely buying it. Salsero asks if he should look for someone else, she says no wait she wants to ensure that Jose Angel is not taking the job before lookin' for another. Bank in the D.F.
Jose Angel has come to the bank in the D.F. to fix the foreclosure problem. Note about the truck here. It gave him so much trouble in Morales, how did he fix it so quickly? And it made it to the D.F. with no problems. Continuity problem I'd say. He gets directions from the guard at the door to where he is supposed to go, and is directed. He sits at the desk and hands the lady the letter he got saying they were going to foreclose. The lady checks the document and tells him it's a fake. The number of the loan doesn't match and neither do the signatures. Jose Angel is floored.
Airport, D.F.
Victoria has arrived to pick up her Papa and gets a call from the fired piano teacher. The piano teacher must have told Victoria what happened, and Victoria apologizes to the teacher and invites her over for lunch. The woman agrees. The patriarch of the family has landed Anibal (Enrique Rocha) he is a courtly gentleman. She is so glad he is there, she needed a hug, and she can't understand who would want to kill her. He says couldn't sleep knowing what happened to her, but they will find out. Victoria tells him they are upping the security. They all go.

It is wait for it, Salsero and Victoria of course. Jose Angel wants to know what is going on, but of course Salsero ignores him and opens the door for Victoria. He is happy to see her and grins a wide grin. He wants to know what she is doing there. She tells him she had him investigated cause he saved her life and wanted to know about him. He is shyly looking down, while Salsero is givin' him the stink eye. Lili comes up and introduces herself and shakes Victoria's hand. She tries to shake Salerso's but he ignores her. Victoria hands Jose Angel an envelope loaded with dinero. He is shocked at the amount and hands it right back to her, and says truly it's ok, I don't want it. She tries to press him to take it, but he refuses. She wants to know if he is still looking for a job, he thinks it is the capataz job, he'll take it, but she has a better offer. Christina comes up and Lili gives her the 411 that this is Victoria the woman Jose Angel saved, how elegant is she? And that she offered Jose Angel money, he wouldn't take. Christina so not happy with this. Meanwhile, Victoria offers Jose Angel the job of bodyguard, bodyguard he says. He starts to guffaw, he can't believe it, Salsero steps right in and says don't laugh, this is serious, she has offered you a job to protect her. Jose Angel wants to know this guys name. Victoria tells him Salsero and with the belly laugh can't stop laughing. Of course Salsero isn't likin' that, no siree bob, and says his name is Santino, and Victoria says Salsero is a good dancer, while Jose Angel keeps laughing. After he stops laughing he says thanks, but no thanks, I'm a good 'ole country boy, like the fresh air, the land, etc and even does a move like dancing and Salsero says in his opinion Jose Angel would be perfect for this job. Jose Angel says that's his opinion but no thanks. Of course, Christina butts right in, and wants to know what is goin' on. She hears about the job offer and Christina thinks he ought to take it. Victoria gives Jose Angel her card and tells him to think about it and let her know, just think about it. He is still not down with it, but says he needs to go to the D.F. something really important for him to do. So Christina is pithed and Victoria hands Christina her card too, and tells her to convince her husband to just take the job. Christina is so down with that. Christina will soooo convince him. Victoria and Salsero go, they are going to the airport to pick up her Papa. Victoria is confused about Jose Angel, about why he says he works the land and is not a bodyguard, as she is looking at his resume. Salsero assures her he is what that resume says. She isn't completely buying it. Salsero asks if he should look for someone else, she says no wait she wants to ensure that Jose Angel is not taking the job before lookin' for another. Salsero grins that smarmy grin.
Bank in the D.F.
Jose Angel has come to the bank in the D.F. to fix the foreclosure problem. Note about the truck here. It gave him so much trouble in Morales, how did he fix it so quickly? And it made it to the D.F. with no problems. Continuity problem I'd say. He gets directions from the guard at the door to where he is supposed to go, and is directed. He sits at the desk and hands the lady the letter he got saying they were going to foreclose. The lady checks the document and tells him it's a fake. The number of the loan doesn't match and neither do the signatures. Jose Angel is floored.
Airport, D.F.
Victoria has arrived to pick up her Papa and gets a call from the fired piano teacher. The piano teacher must have told Victoria what happened, and Victoria apologizes to the teacher and invites her over for lunch. The woman agrees. The patriarch of the family has landed Anibal (Enrique Rocha) he is a courtly gentleman. She is so glad he is there, she needed a hug, and she can't understand who would want to kill her. He says couldn't sleep knowing what happened to her, but they will find out. Victoria tells him they are upping the security. They all go.

Gee , if my hubby turned on the light in the middle of the night when I was asleep, it would wake me up, and I would not be a happy camper. That bedtime smooch made me think that it's surprising Juan Angel and his espousa don't have a whole bunch of kids spilling out of that cute, tiny cottage.

Don't quite know what to think of this TN. It has been interesting to watch. So far we seem to have a terrific daughter, a money obsessed wife, and a clod-hopper farmer/foreman but wonderful father who seems content with acting against his own self interest.
The fight scenes are a hoot because they are, in my opinion, poorly acted but after his laughing at the name Salsero and goofing around while the rich folk was offering him a job maybe they are done on purpose. Eduardo Yáñez might have a bit too much age on him for all these fight scenes. He does, however, have a big grin with lots of smiley teeth. I almost expected a star to beam off of his grin, but no. TN's. Gota luv um.

There's a big difference between being a farmer and a bodyguard. I understand why Juan Angel would turn down the offer and want to handle his situation on his own terms, even though he’s in dire straits. Nice of his wife to announce their dire straits to rich strangers - not.
When I see Juan Angel's fight scenes, I think of the young Muhammad Ali boxing versus the older Ali boxing. The younger had the speed, but the older wisely used more thoughtful techniques.

Ok, y'all the recap is finally up. Sorry it took me so long. I had another recap to do. Remember next Thursday, the 15th of November there will be no TN'S due to the Latin Grammy awards :( Sorry if I was a bit long winded. I will get the hang of the characters quickly.

I missed some of last night's episode, so I didn't get that Jose Angel may have something to hide from the police.
Surely Salsero is used to being teased about his nickname. But in the dark glasses and suit he's pretty imposing, so maybe not.

Madelaine: Two excellent summaries today.
This was wonderful: just the right amount of humor and insight: "taking notes, in his vengeful brain that is" was my hands down favorite.
Loved Jose and Christinia's scene and his playful request for a real kiss! I also liked how Victoria and Jose are on each other's minds and how that scene was done. I suppose that the rescuer and rescuee in such a situation would be indelibly printed on your mind and heart...This doesn't bode well for Christinia, does it?
Francisco dealt so kindly with his father's money problems - what a galan.
Love Susana Gonzales and glad to see other "Pasion" actors - Rulli, Rocha) and wow, Camejo certainly is different from his DA days!
Salsero is menacing and intriguing. I was somewhat mollified Nikki wasn't her usual screaming, shrill, shrewish self but she may just have had an off day.

I have a minor correction tho, the police station was in "Morelos," not Morales. Morelos is a small state just south of DF [the town of Cuernavaca is in Morelos]. I guess that is the setting of this TN.

I read the recap very late yesterday, to late to comment but want to give a belated thanks to Aribeth.
I saw the previews several times announcing the new show, and for me, just my taste, it didn't look all that good. But everyone has a favorite right? Several of the ladies have mentioned the macho men that they adore,---well, for me it's Sherlyn. She's so sweet, I just had to watch. I hope she gets a lead role one day.
I loved the father daughter Akido practice last night. For me it was so much better than the fight scene the night before which didn't look very convincing.

I'm late to comment, but wanted to thank you for your wonderful recap! I am still following this novela and am enjoying the great cast. "Big Ed" is a sweetie, I can tell!
Judging by the believability of the actions scenes in this novela, I suspect a few of the writers spent many hours of their childhood watching "Charlie's Angels."
