Refugio Para el Amor #149 Thu 11/8/12 The Grief, The Hope, The Rant and the Retribution

The Refried:

Pato tells Luci he had to go confront that mountain that changed his life.

The New:

Layby in the D.F.

Rod and Claudio talking to Mateo about the good news/bad news/ where is your Mommy? Don Chelo comes over and Claudio introduces himself. Don Chelo wants to know what they want with Mateo.

Taco Corner and the Slap:

Rosa has come up and slapped the crap out of Lorenzo. Not only that, she is screaming in his face about all her hopes and dreams going bye bye, not really but she is pithed at him. He screams right back to stop insulting him. Fabian is a great witness and is trying to hold Lorenzo back. I think we in Viewerville, would love to see Lorenzo return that slap, jus' sayin'. Rosa calls him a wretch, he says he is a hard worker. She just continues the insults with he comes from a bad family and as a matter of fact, his sister got pregnant, without benefit of marriage, here is that non ending rant of hers, and to stay away from Jana or else something really bad is gonna happen! The maids eating behind them snicker and laugh at the la loca one. After Gennaro, sucks to be him, whisks her off in the big SUV, Fabian is still holding Lorenzo back as he calls the loca one the devil.

Lay by D.F.

Rod tells Don C they don't want anything from Mateo, they just want to get to know him and can they help in anyway? Claudio explains what happened to his grandson that he never got to know. Claudio and Rod hand Don C their bidness cards and Rod explains he is the Papa of the bebe that went missing. Don C is lookin' very concerned now. Don C commiserates with them and he tells them it must be very hard on the two of them. They just basically want to help Mateo if he needs anything. Mateo is playing off to the side and Don C glances over at him. Rod and Claudio both tell Don C not to be troubled about their talking to Mateo. They tell Don C that they are on the way to a Children's Shelter to see if a little boy there is maybe the child that has been lost. They tell Don C if he ever needs anything, wants anything to please call them and let them know. Don C wishes them much luck in finding their grandson/son and they say bye to Don C and Mateo.

Het Het, Paz and Magda's Home:

Magda, Paz, Pato, Luci and Ariche are eating another yummy meal, prepared by the ladies. Pato talks to Ariche and tells him he is done with the mountain. Pato is telling Luci provecho (benefit/advantage) maybe about taking the advantage of being together and Magda and Paz are looking at each other with a troubled look on their faces of course thinking this is maybe being together, but I think Pato meant taking the time with Luci to talk.

Torreslanda Bidness, Cafeteria:

Jana, Melissa and Aldo are having lunch and Jana is filling Melissa and Aldo in about the torrid kisses and thanks Aldo for arranging this. Aldo tells her not a problem. Rod calls Jana and asks if she would please pick up Alexia from the kinder and she says of course she will. Rod will call the kinder to let them know Jana is picking her up.

Torreslanda Bidness Max's Office/Nicole's Nail Salon:

Max is calling Vicki and trying to set up a meet with her in their nest of lurvvvve/hanky/panky that evening. She tells him she is meeting a family friend who knew her Mama and Papa, Ruh Roh, anvil for you Max. He says he's jealous and doesn't like it, but Vicky pours on the charm, O, Osito she says, she will so make this up to him manana. She smoochies the phone and hangs up, he is looking sour.

Torreslanda Home:

La loca in her prison matron garb (Thanks Vivi) encounters Mati and wants to know if anyone called? Seriously, who wants to talk to her anyways? Mati of course says noone called. La loca is whining again about being all alone in the house, everyone has abandoned her doncha know. I wonder why?????? Maliciousness maybe, hmmmm???? She is whining about Pato being in Het Het with Luci, you can just see her shudder, Rod and Max are working at the bidness, Jana is working too, and as she is whining, she is running her hands over the furniture trying to find her enemy the dust. Of course last night was the very worst night of her miserable life, not miserable, but we in Viewerville are thinkin' it. Now at last she asks Mati if Bore-us' (Thanks Decie Girl) have called, as if. Mati again tells her no. Mati, just make her that sleepy time tea, she needs it cause we in Viewerville are sick of her pie hole, jus' sayin'. Mati, I really hate that she does this, tells Rosa to stop punishing herself, children when they grow up make their own lives. I meant about the punishing herself not the children making their own lives. Mati wants her to call Conny and go out to a movie, the theater, dinner, anything, just get out of the house! Rosa doesn't want to talk to Conny, especially about Jana not marrying Bore-us. Then Mati brings up another person la loca can vent on the Padre! What about going to see him? She won't talk to the Padre either, new enemy, he betrayed her doncha know, didn't listen to her, he knows all her little dirty secrets, er confidences, he was like her Guardian Angel and now her biggest enemy. Mati just shakes her head, as Rosa has the vacant look on her face.

At The Albergue in the D.F.:

Rod and Claudio have come to the Albergue (shelter, I think it is a children's shelter, not an orphanage). The director greets them. The Director informs them he may have found lil Roddy. Two days after Luci lost the bebe this child was brought to them. The bebe was found close to the place where Luci lost him. The director gives them a file and Rod and Claudio look so hopeful. Rod and Claudio have looked over the file and the Director tells them to have patience. A social worker brings a little boy into the room. Claudio and Rod smile at him and Rod introduces himself and Claudio smiles at him. This boy looks a tiny bit like Luci, but not like Mateo at all. The little boy introduces himself as Pablo. Claudio then introduces himself and asks Pablo if he remembers his Mommy and of course Pablo doesn't. Rod asks Pablo how old he is and Pablo tells him five. Such a look of hope on Rod and Claudio's faces. They want to know if he is looking for his family, of course he is. Rod tells Pablo he has a little girl, named Alexia, the same age. Pablo likes her name. The social worker comes back for Pablo and the Director wants to know what they thought of him? Claudio thought he was a nice boy and Rod wants to know how can they be sure this is his son? The Director, yay, says DNA of course. Then they will know for sure. The Director wants to be sure not only for Rod and Claudio but also for Pablo so noone's hopes are dashed. Claudio agrees and says it would save Luci grief too, she has suffered enough. The Director sets up a blood test and Rod will come back tomorrow to give his sample of DNA. Rod's phone rings and of course it is, wait for it, Gagme of course. She is giving him hell about not picking Alexia up from the kinder and why did Jana pick her up anyways, and he KNOWS how Gagme feels about that! Rod tells her he had to do it, cause he is doing something important right now. Gagme wants to know what is more important than his daughter? He assures her that Alexia is very important to him,and that he is at an agency that might have info on his son! Shut the front door, Shirley, Gagme wants to know what info? Rod explains how this boy came to be at this agency, and now Gagme's pie hole finally shuts itself and Rod tells her bye and hangs up. She has to sit down and tells herself, It's Impossible, Can't Be and she keeps repeating herself.

Het Het Paz and Magda's Terrace:

The meal is over and Paz, Magda and Ariche go back to work, leaving Pato and Luci alone to talk. Pato tells Luci he just wants her to listen, she doesn't have to say anything. They go onto the terrace. Pato tells Luci that Rod is more than a brother to him, he is also his best friend and that he and Rod have always been close. Then the mountain changed his life forever. We have the flashback about how Luci met Pato at the side of the road and asking him to send back a mechanic to help her Papa Galindo. She left this in Pato's hands but Rod was in such a hurry to go. He tells Luci he told Rod he had just met the most beautiful girl. He'll never forget it. This convo is like a trip down memory lane. Pato remembers by flashback of running into Luci and her giving him grief about the mechanic. They are both smiling as they remember. Then in another flashback, Pato describes climbing the mountain with Rod and Luci remembers her Papa Galindo's death. He tells Luci about Rod yelling at Pato to keep up, Pato tells Luci he had no fear and he was very strong, and then about going into the lead on the climb. He remembers his carbiner breaking and then falling past Rod, seeing his life flash before his eyes, I think. Luci cries. He tells Luci that is all about the accident and his brother, and the mountain took his ability to walk again, forever. And Rod? How did the mountain effect him? All Pato remembers after falling was the sky and the mountain and the next thing he knew he was in some severe pain and waking up in the hospital with Rod telling him, in another flashback, he fell off the mountain and how terrible it was. Luci kneels by the wheelchair and tells him how sorry she is about what happened to him. Pato tells her, in another flashback, how Rod took all the blame for the accident, how Rod cried and was begging Pato for forgiveness. Rod huggin him and how much grief there was. Pato tells Luci that Rod felt responsible for what happened to Pato on that mountain, for a decision that Pato made Rod suffered for it. Pato reminds Luci of the great love that is between Luci and Rod, a love that is their own. Luci says of course she will always love Rod all her life, but he is now with Gagme. And Pato pooh, poohs this too. He reminds Luci that the marriage between Luci and Rod was for love, the marriage to Gagme was cause she was having Rod's bebe and that there is no love between Rod and the Gagging One atall. Luci still thinks it is better this way, all she wants to do is find her son and all the grief she has suffered over the years. I just have to say, isn't that SUPERSIZED PIE CART AVAILABLE FOR GAGME YET? Jus' sayin'.

D.F. Where the Aunt and The Cousins Have a Wonderful Time:

Melissa, Jana, and Aldo now accompany little Alexia on a funny jaunt of an afternoon, trying on wigs ala Katy Perry, boas of different colors, and even bumper cars. All are very happy and having a wonderful time. They even buy her a burger, yay, beats that liver any day jus' sayin'.

Gagme's Rag of a Mag:

Gagme is callin' Frigid with her orders for the day, so to speak. She wants to know if Alexia is home yet and is Rod? Frigid tells her that Jana picked Alexia up from the kinder and Gagme is all kinds of pithed. She tells Frigid to shut up! I would have hung up on her, jus' sayin'. She wants that liver thingy again for Alexia and Frigid protests, and Gagme warns her she better do it or she can hit the street! Gagme tells Frigid she makes a bad enemy and then she hangs up on Frigid. Frigid is now really pithed and says, yeah but I could be your worst enemy, eva!!!

Rod's Car, D.F.

Rod and Claudio have left the Agency and Rod is crying and telling Claudio, five years, he has been without the woman he loves. Five years looking for his son. Is this supposed to be Rod's life from now on? I have to say here, along with Viewerville, Rod honey, you could have fixed this Gagme mess already, divorced her butt, and taken Alexia. You could so prove Gagme is so NOT a mother, jus' sayin'.

Torreslanda Home:

Of course, we all know why Gagme has come to see la loca. To tell her the great, er, horrible news that that "domestica's" son may have been found. Well this just ratchets up la loca's paranoia, doncha know. Gagme calls her on this too. Rosa says she'll be calm until they know for sure and when there is proof that this boy is in fact a Torreslanda-Linares and la loca happens to remind Gagme that this child is the first born and thus the heir to the Torreslanda fortune. Gagme utters her new mantra, it can't be! Rosa also reminds Gagme that if this child is indeed Rod and Luci's, and yes she actually called her Luci, say bye bye to Rod Pooh Bear cause he will be walkin'. Gagme swears Rod Pooh Bear is so NOT leaving her. Rosa basically tells her to get her head out of her A$$ and to use her intelligence. Oh and by the way, Gagme has on puce flourescent pumps, didn't that go out in the eighties? Jus' sayin'.

Boxcar Barrio:

Don C and Mateo have made it home and Don C is having a convo with Dona C. He tells her about meeting Rod and Claudio and about that child being missing and Dona C feels very bad for them and the Mama. Mateo is playing nearby and Don C lowers his voice. Don C is thinking that the child they are looking for is Mateo! Don C has good instincts. Dona C pooh pooh's the idea. They would never leave a child in the trash, never happen, can't be. Don C tells Dona C that the child has been missing for five years. Dona C still isn't buying it and now Don C is right along with her, can't be. Don C and Dona C talk about the past. They remember Luci and how much she was greiving about the child she lost, the one that offered to help us too! Mateo has come close to them and they stop talking but once he goes on they continue. Don C gives Dona C the bidness cards that Claudio and Rod gave him. Dona C looks at the cards, first Torreslanda and then Linares, she says of course the child would be a Torreslanda-Linares.

Rod and Gagme's Apartment of Doom and Gloom:

Frigid has that hospital bracelet out again and says this bracelet is worth more than any precious jewel. Frigid is almost positive that Gagme had something to do with the getting rid of Luci's bebe. Sucks to be Gagme, cause Frigid is thinking this info is worth alot of money for her purse, doncha know like five million peso's worth! Oh, yes she says to herself as she grins. Note to Frigid: Listen just go tell Rod already. Tell him you just found it if you have to but COME ON GIVE IT UP ALREADY.

Continous Curves Car Wash:

The ladies are washing cars when a awesome hottie pulls up in a convertible and Velia thinks he is bodacious and tells Vio so. The guy gets out of the car and looks at Vio and says hey beautiful. The guy tells them someone recommended this car wash to him and Vio wants to know who, as she is fingering her hair and lookin' him up and down. Note to Vio: Big mistake, chica. Never play with your hair if you don't want the guy to know you are so into him. Leave the hair be. A guy told me that many years ago, jus' sayin'. He says he heard about it around, you know and that the bidness was run by women, and he didn't count on how bodacious they were, well not bodacious, but pretty. The guy smiles at Vio and she shyly smiles back and that song is playing from her antro days.

Het Het, Don A's Office:

Don A is trying to show Copio how much more range of motion he has with his gouty foot, but you can tell he is still in some major pain. Nothing new here.

Rod and Gagme's Apartment of Doom and Gloom:

Well the fun had to stop sometime, I guess they stayed too long at the fair, uh, you know, out with Alexia and Jana, Melissa and Aldo have brought sweet little Alexia back home. Of course poor Alexia is trying to give her Moms, and I use that term as I am gritting my teeth, a hug, but of course the Gagging One so ain't havin' that, cause her hands are dirty, then Alexia tries to touch her Moms as she asks for her pardon, the poor little thing. Jana, Melissa and Aldo all see this and give the Gagging One the stink eye! Alexia is dismissed to her room of course, and that is the last straw for Aldo and Jana as they light into Gagme. Of course, Gagme is pithed cause Rod didn't pick up Alexia from the kinder and tells them so, he is always working. Well, they aren't having that, no siree bob. Jana says of course they work but Rod does spend a lot of time with Alexia and what about Gagme, hmmmm? They work yes, but not to the exclusion of others.Jana and Melissa are walking towards the door and Aldo just looks Gagme up and down, like she is some kind of hooker, really, and then he goes. I swear Gagme liked that Aldo was lookin' at her that way. She is smiling and showin' that grill. Oh, Gag me already!!!!!

Torreslanda Front Parlor:

Rosa is staring at that pic of her, Rod and Pato and Max comes in and is the next one to be grilled. She wants to know if he has brought Jana with him? He says no, but she went to the kinder, picked up Alexia and spent the day with her. Rosa thinks this can't be, I guess Rosa la loca thought she dumped Alexia with Gagme and went to meet Lorenzo, anyhoo, until Max tells her Melissa and Aldo went with Jana too. Max says his granddaughter is the happiest girl in the world. La loca now gives Max the news about Rod maybe finding his son. Max says that Rod went to the Agency and there IS a possiblity that Rod found their grandson. Rosa is soooo not pleased, but then again, when is she ever????

Rod and Gagme's Apartment of Doom and Gloom And A New Spine

*Best Scene of the Night*

Gagme is walkin' around in her all black outfit with the puce florescent shoes and lookin' at her watch, just pacing. In walks Rod. The first thing she wants to know is how it went at the Agency, don' tell her Rod, tell her none ya. He tells her he hasn't contacted Luci yet, he doesn't want to give her any false hope, Ruh Roh! until he has proof positive in hand. She wants to know how that is accomplished and how will he know for sure if this is the child Luci "lost"? Of course he tells her DNA. He goes to get his dinner and finds that liver dinner in the fridge that Alexia wouldn't eat and she explains exactly what happened about that. Well Rod is pithed. She also tells him that since Alexia ate with Jana she will just have to eat it tomorrow. Well now Rod is beyond pithed! So Rod goes over to the drawer, grabs some silverware and grabs Gagme and forcebly makes her sit in front of the horrible, cold liver dinner. He has her by the neck so she can't move while she is yelling at him to let her go, he tells her, she will eat this liver dinner, she needs to lead by example doncha know and she will sit here, for however long it takes for her to eat it. YEAH!!!!!! He says you wanted to make Alexia eat this crap , so you eat it, go on. She is pithed! Now I have to say I don't like forceable anything, but Gagme really deserved this.

Het Het, Paz and Magda's Terrace:

Luci and Pato are still talking and he remembers when she first came to work at the Torreslanda Home. She remembers too, and wishes she had his strength and faith, he has an abundance of it, way more than her. Luci tells him her grief is so profound from losing her son, it is with her day and night. Luci tells Pato that when the grief got too bad, she even asked Dios, in her prayers at night, not to ever wake up again. I have to pause here, cause I am starting to cry again, like when I watched the epi. I am taking a minute. Ok, I've wiped my eyes, have my tea, and can continue. Pato tells Luci in truth she has a lot of strength and he likes the fact she is like a sister to him and that Luci has a very strong spirit. They touch their heads, while holding hands and Luci tells Pato his faith and strength are tremendous and she cries as does he. I'm crying again. I just want that SUPERSIZED PIE CART FOR GAGME, JULIE AND ROSA LA LOCA ALREADY!!!!!!! And here is where we end this epi.

Advances:

Rosa la loca and Gagme are worried about this child possibly being Rod's.

Don C is talking to Mateo as Mateo sleeps and he is tucking him in saying he could be from a good family.

Comments:
Thanks for putting this up so promptly. I totally agree on the best scene of the night.

Now that Rod finally seems to have found his cojones again he needs to start questioning Frigida and the nanny. He needs to know what's really been going on.

Holy crap best scene of the night is right. I actually hoped Rod would shove her face in the mess she was going to force her child to eat the next day. When will this idiot just get the divorce already and shut up about talking about it.

Do like that Gagme and La Loca are going to need panic pills shortly. Those anvils are inching closer. And who would have thunk it someone is actually going for DNA which is going to cause another let down but not for long one hopes.

Wondering if either Don C or Dona C will pick up Luci's card and match it the ones they have. Obviously both of them now know that this child wasn't casually thrown out with the trash. That he has loving, anguished parents and a grandfather. The ball is moving into their court to do the right thing.

Cried through much of the Pato Luci scene. They have such a great connection and there is so much pain but no self pity with them both.

Madelaine, great great recap!!
two scenes were sooo memorable ... Rod feeding Gagme some of her own soup with the roughness she deserves... not quite gentleman-like but she did deserve that...

Also the Pato/Luci scene... I think we were due this scene long ago... Luci had to learn how the accident happened and had to hear things from Pato's perspective and also from Rod's perspective (his pain, his guilt, his suffering).

BTW,
about Rod yelling at Pato to keep up
Actually at the mountain Rod wanted to lead and have Pato follow below him. But Pato wanted to get ahead. Rod insisted and insisted that Pato stay behind/lower than him and stay behind him on the line but Pato just wanted to prove something that day so he got ahead of Rod... even after Pato caught up with Rod you can see Rod yelling for Pato to slow down and get behind him, but Pato pushed on forward and after a while, the anchor (not sure the term) slipped off the rock and Pato fell down on the line... the freefall on the line of his weight cracked his back when the line got to its limit... Pato tells Luci he heard when his body broke in half and when his life ended as he knew it...
He tells her about Rod, how Rod blamed himself completely even though Pato recognizes Rod kept insisting he not go up ahead of him. So Pato does recognize that Rod tried to prevent what happened, and also how much it affected Rod (as much as himself).
HE tells Luci that they used to be close as brothers but from the moment of the accident it is as if their hearts are fused together, that they could not be any closer.

Madelaine: One superb recap already and I see you are also working on another! Don't know how you do it. I so admire the recappers, especially those who do double duty and those who have had to recap 2 hour shows. Amazing!

What an excellent title! I always enjoy your captions - "Gagme's Rag of a Mag" and "coninuous curves car wash" were great! "he didn't count on how bodacious they were" and "puce flourescent pumps" were among my favorite lines. Also, thank you for "carbiner" - a new term for me.

Loved Rod making Gala eat the repugnant liver!

My favorite moment was the look Aldo gave Gala. I had a hard time defining it - was it lasvicious, disgusted, scathing or all of the above? Whatever it was, it was priceless.

Pato and Luci's scene and discussion were also very touching. I was distracted though (and not in a good way) by Pato's shirt being unbuttoned to the waist. An odd look for such a heartfelt conversation.

I am totally frustrated by the roadblock of another child being brought forward as Rod and Luci's child. Thankfully, they are getting the testing but...I have to say that Claudio looked kindly at the child but did not look convinced. I think he, Rod and Luci all felt the call of the blood with Mateo. Decie Girl, I was also wondering if Don Chelo and Chuy would make the connection with Luci's card. Let's hope they put things together quickly and do the right thing.

Diana

Mads- Thank you so much for this wonderfully detailed recap. And thanks to you Marta for adding even more. I have not seen the episode yet because I was out at a Brazillian dance party last night. So much fun! (But I am so tired today.)

I'm looking forward to seeing the powerful scene between Luci and Pato, and the confrontation between Rod and Gala. Is he ready to get that divorce going yet?

I'm sad to read that Mateo is not the suspected missing Roddy, but instead some other little boy. Does the other boy also have dark hair and large dark eyes, like Mateo and Luci?

It sounds like Chelo and Chuy are in denial about Mateo possibly being the missing Torreslanda-Linares child. I wish he would take Rod/Claudio/Luci up on their offers to help Mateo, as he knows how much Mateo wants to go to school.

Vivi, no the other boy has a lot fairer skin and smaller eyes, sort of more looking like Pato than Luci. I agree that Claudio and Rod felt the call of the blood with Mateo and not so much with the new boy (Pablo?).

it was very moving that Pato told Luci that the moment he met her his life changed completely... without going as straight as saying 'i feel helplessly in love with you that moment'. It was very moving how he released his feelings without putting her on the spot mentioning the word 'love'. And his verbally admitting that Luci and Rod loved each other greatly, even when Luci doubted that Rod loved her, Pato insisted that Rod and Gala are just a marriage on paper and that Rod is there mostly for Alexia. But that Rod is still in love with Luci. So he put Luci's happiness first ahead of his and did not allow Luci to doubt Rod's love for her.

Wonderfully told Mads. You had some powerful scenes last night to retell and did them justice so beautifully.

Boy did Gagme ever get her comeuppance last night. Though I also don't like manhandling, in this case, Rod's insistence that she practice what she preaches was welcome. I so loved how the day out with Jana and the gang was shown and then how cruelly poor Alexia is met within her own home. I'm sorry, but Rod should have taken that little girl and just found another place to live long ago. Even if he's too "scared" to do the divorce, he owes it to that little girl to remove her from the cruelty of that mother. That stays with a child, no matter how much love she gets from him.

Thank the heavens someone actually thought DNA. And of course we have characters who hold clues, but I'm sure we have to wait until almost the bitter end for them to say anything. Argh!!

That final scene with Pato and Luce--yeah, I need to replace the tissue box this morning. Someone needs to invent Hug-a-Vision because I just wanted to give Pato a major one last night.

Oh, and anyone else catch that promo for a new TN?? I missed most of it and didn't catch the full name. Is this the replacement at 7:00?

The title of the new series is Corona de Lagrimas. Victoria Ruffo has three adult sons. Here is the poster.

If I were in charge at Univision I'd put this one at 8PM and move Eva to 7.

Madelaine, great recap, thanks.

Yes, the Pato scenes were very moving. As actors, they both did a very good job.

Watching RE and Gagme squirm was very rewarding. It is amazing that they both think only of money. The Frig is also thinking about money and what she can charge for her knowledge. The funny thing is that Luci probably has more money than the entire group and could care less. Love makes her world go round not the almighty dollar.

Does Vio have a new suitor? The guy has possiblities.

Poor Don A, will all the gout pain make him rethink his life and all of the pain he has caused others?

Rosemary Primera

Mads thanks for this great recap. As Diana said you are quite the trooper doing the new TN too. And Marta thanks for your blow-by-blow of Pato & Luci's convo.

Happy to see Rod finally open his eyes to Gagme but how could he have not seen/sensed any of this before? ITA w/daisynjay, he needed to get his daughter out of that house long ago. And w/Jana and co. witnessing what happened at home, he now has others, in addition to Frigid and the nanny, to confirm Gala's an unfit mother.

I hope they don't keep dragging out finding baby Roddy. Luci needs her child already.

Did anyone get the feeling that Frigid's greed might get her killed?

Corona de Lagrimas has got to be the LEAST inviting telenovela title I have ever heard. We already know we'll be in store for plenty of tears in any tn, but when they have it in the title, you just KNOW it's going to be a lloronafest!

I keep wondering about Rosa's obsession with Jana's purity. Could it be that in her day she wasn't so pure herself and could it be that Rod was a six or seven month giant sized "preemie"?

Another thing she always goes on about is Luci getting pregnant outside of marriage. How stupid is this woman. Luci was married to Rod. The only thing i can think is that Rosa doesn't consider her to have been married because it wasn't in the church. She does however seem to ignore the whole thing when it comes to Gagme who was not married in any way when she got pregnant. Rosa ranting on the subject drives me BSC.

I did like Lorenzo standing up for himself during her attack. He is and has always been respectful but not servile as she wishes. Rosa just doesn't get the dignity of people who actually work hard for a living.

Rosa has created a narrative in her head about Luci and she expects everyone else to believe it-- Luci is a tramp who seduced Rod away from Gala, and has also cast her spell over Pato (but he doesn't matter any more because he is no longer a "whole" man). Her narrative is the only way she can justify herself. It's just like how she keeps insisting that Aurora was Max's lover, no matter what anyone else says on the subject. At least she's finally dropped saying that Luci is Max's child.

Vivi, you beat me to that one. Not to mention that Gala does the same thing with her "la domestica", which Luci hasn't been for six years now.

Narcissists do not have a good relationship with the truth. The only thing that made Roselena drop her ridiculous obsession over Max being Luci's father is the DNA test that proves that Claudio is.

With only 16 episodes left I am seeing Frigida redeeming herself in death. Her greed will get the better of her, she will make one mistake that will lead to Julie, Gala, or Roselena killing her and she will either have left something for Rod to find or he will hear her last words.

Thanks for the info UA. I'm like Vivi, not feeling the wam and fuzzies on this one. Another remake...really? Noone can write a fresh script? Checked out the cast and don't have a lot of familiarty with some of them. And to be frank, Vittorio drove me bonkers in TDA. The thought of watching her as another hand-wringing grande dame...yikes.

I've been catching up on Amor on the weekends thru Hulu, so that may be my only TN viewing after Refugio ends.

Madelaine - Thanks for a great recap. Appreciate all the details.

Caught the last 15 minutes and saw the Best Scene of the Night. I don't like manhandling either, but I couldn't help but cheer. Rod, there's hope for you yet.

Thanks y'all for the great comments. I am glad y'all liked the comeuppance of Gagme. Ugh, what a bitch, jus' sayin'. She so deserved everything she got.

Marta-Thank you for filling in what I missed. It's funny, but I recapped that epi where Pato fell. I should have remembered so thank you.

Diana- I try to mix it up with the little subtitles to make it interesting. That look Aldo gave Gagme was like umhum, we know what you are all about, is the way I took it, like a hooker, maybe. I haven't seen him look at another woman like that, and it was the first thought that popped into my mind, lol.

Vivi- Brazilian dance!!! That must have been a blast. Sorry you are tired today. I too think Don C and Dona C are in denial, you could tell by looking at their faces. I hope they wake up.

Urban- thank you so much. I too like that Rod found his cojones for a change. Maybe now he will divorce the bitch.

DaisynJay- I was shocked about the DNA thing too. Finally, a TN that uses technology instead of the boy looks like you, so we'll go with that, lol. But we all know what will happen either the DNA test comes back negetive or Gagme and la loca find a way to "fix" it.

Rosemary Primera- I hope this guy is Vio's new guy. You could tell they were into each other, and the guy actually looked and sounded nice, here is hoping she finally finds love.

Karen- I too hope they dont' drag this Mateo storyline too long. This epi was so sad last night, with Luci crying over her "lost" son. I cried like a bebe all through her and Pato's convo.

Neice in MD- I'm with you about Rod, this might be the beginning of his finally standing up, doing the right thing and divorcing this bitch and going after what he really wants.

Oh, just another little comment, on Thursday, the 15th of November there will be no TN's due to the Latin Grammy Awards.

I don't think Rosa and Gagme will try and "fix"the DNA test. They haven't got a clue as to who and where Pablo is and we all know he isn't the lost child. I don't think they will even go with the DNA test when someone finds out about Mateo. That medal which Luci knows about is going to be good enough - plus which there is the "call of the blood" that Luci, Claudio and Rod have all felt in his presence.

Even though they would be the ones laughing inside, i doubt it is really convenient for RosaE and Gala to make Rod and Luci believe Pablo is their son. Right now finding the boy would unite Rod and Luci even more... which is what Gala wants to avoid at all costs... Also for RE, having Rod pay attention to his son is the last thing she wants... so no, if this were Mateo instead of Pato, then I would see them trying to rig the results of the DNA test but not for making the wrong boy seem he is the right son.

That was greatness Rod turning the tables on Gagme and the cold liver dinner (blech!). If I could high five him thru my tv screen I would have. Looks like Rod has hit his breaking point with Gagme and has finally said enough is enough with her.

Damn that guy that showed up at the car wash was H-O-T!! Vio girl you flirt all you want. I know I would!

Vicki looks like shes not going to be Max's beck-and-call girl anymore. And she's gonna at least get something for her time & trouble. Well played Vicki..well played.

Paula

Interesting how Vicki is playing Max. So she is going out with an old friend of her parents. Wonder if Max will follow her and discover the friend is Pedro Campos. Then again didn't Campos say he had plastic surgery so no one would recognize him. Hmm interesting development.

Kind of wished we had seen Vio's hot guy earlier on. I hate it when they just toss some guy in at the last minute so everyone who deserves it gets a HEA

Madelaine---Thank you so much.

The best scene of the night? Yes, I agree but it could have been better. I was waiting for Rod to shove Gagme's face into the liver and pureed peas. He didn't do it but she deserved it for torturing little Alexia the way she did.

I agree with everyone that another best scene---there were two, was the talk that Pato and Luci had. With the flashbacks and all, it was very touching.
Pato is quite a guy putting Lucie's feelings ahead of his. I don't think that many people are strong enough in character to be able to do that. Even without the use of his legs, Pato is a real winner.

Karen---Fridiga's greed might get her killed. I never thought of that but it makes sense.

Decie Girl---Rosa drives me BSC also. She is so twisted in her thinking.

As usual, I can't wait for tonight. I'm really going to miss this one when it's over.
the gringo.

Decie Girl and Marta, by "fixing" I meant the problem. I shouldn't have used the word test. I am afraid they will try to harm Pablo or Mateo if they find out who he is, which is remote at this point. They would do anything to prevent Luci and Rod ever getting back together, their hate is so vile.

Mads, thanks a lot, wonderful recap. I would like to apologize to Rodrigo for saying previously that he is turning to a henpecked husband. I was cheering and clapping out loud when he did that forced feeding of old leftover liver to Gagme. Better yet he should have shove it down her throat or forced her face to that poisonous meal. Best part of the series evah. Now I am disappointed with Brigida. I wish she would give the bracelet already to Rod. But still she is the old unrepentant Brigida, thinking of blackmailing Gagme. But I will be patient with her. There might still be a little goodness left.
