Por ella soy Eva #88 11/21/12: Is He or Isn't He?
Labels: por-ella
I enjoyed Mimi's lecture to JC on homophobia. She is someone who would take that stance and it seemed completely natural coming from her. And JC's reaction was also on target- admitting to making jokes in the past, but now relating better to the fact that some people feel they have to pretend to be something they're not.
Dumb and Dumber were funny. I'm sorry, I know they're idiots but I like them. I even liked Lucia a little tonight. Her desperation is so exaggerated I just can't take it seriously anymore.
I enjoyed Eugenia standing up to Modesto and telling him how she sees things. She'd be more in the middle of things if she'd forgive Juan/Eva already.
True, Lucia, Dumb and Dumber are likeable and harmless.
My favorite part was "Helena believes that sex is directly aligned with love, a magical feeling, with words, a touch or with silence." Right - and in Pluti's case, silence would be preferable to words and touching!!
Did my ears deceive me, or when Eva came in, did she say "I have a message from Antonia"?? Gosh I miss Antonia. :-(
Go Mimi and Santi! They seem to be the only ones with healthy attitudes about gays.
I was sure that Renato was not gay -- I'm still not sure. In the text from P.P. there was mention of a scandal. Maybe the reason Renato is dodging Pepe is because he is not gay but Pepe wantsh im anyway.
They sure spent a lot of time and energy on trying to figure it out. Adri is so stupidly macho. He needs a real comeuppance before he is worthy to be Mimi's teddy bear.
Saved by the bell! Helena was trying real hard to talk herself into doing the deed with Plutarco. Her head has no arguments against it -- but -- as Lucia noted she has no interest. Lucia kept trying to find out why she's not hot to do the deed with her hunky novio. Well she's just not that into him much as she keeps trying to talk herself into it. Thank heaven for the interruption. I hope that the previews are right and that Juan Carlos calls her.

And speaking of belly laughs. I love Elena's belly laughs. More frequent with Eva and her son. Like a laughing Mexican chipmunk. And I mean no disrespect, but most endearing: Alvin meets the Frito Bandito!
Why would Renato's possible homosexuality make a difference in whether he gets to be Adriano's assistant? Qué en la heck does this position entail?!?!?!
I like Santi. He's an idiot, but he's not nearly as offensive as Fernando. He's sweet and generous, to the point he's ruining himself, plus he didn't like nosing into others' personal lives, plus he occasionally does a little work. He doesn't have more than a smidge of the machismo plague, also. I think he'll turn out okay.
Ange was funny, saying that OBVIO Renato is gay; he hasn't fallen for HER!
Happy Thanksgiving to all!

As for Adri and Renato, what really got me was when Adri said "I don't want to commit an injustice" regarding Renato. He's soooo worried that he might deny Renato the opportunity unjustly if he isn't really gay. What about the injustice of denying him the opportunity if he IS gay? Is Adri half as worried about doing a background check on the guy to make sure he doesn't have a criminal record? You'd think he'd be more concerned about such things, what with JC's "betrayal" still smoldering in his memory.
I actually felt sorry for Renato, but this storyline, about him possibly being gay, reminds me of the Arnold story line in UFCS, but in reverse. It shouldn't matter if he is gay or not, he does the job, he should get the job.
I too liked the talk that Mimi and JC had. JC is learning things. He has learned alot of lessons so far, now if he could only find something on the evil Pluti.
ITA about Helena so not being into Pluti. I am glad Eva interrupted that and I hope she actually said what Julie thought she heard, I have a message from Antonia, I too miss Antonia, she was so much fun.
I like Lucia too, but hate the way she is always acting so dumb. I want her to stand up and be assertive as far as Renato goes. She is acting like a needy, wet dish cloth, but she is funny, lol.
I'm as flabbergasted as Eva that Helena was going to do the deed with Pluto, especially after Pluto's tired seduction line "let me show you how much I love you." But if Eva doesn't watch her jealousy, they might think she too is in the closet.
