Amor Bravío #80 (Uni 75) Fri 12/7/12 The Daniel Dilemma (Working Title)

~~ Here's a quick rundown of the important highlights done from memory.  I'll try to fill in what's missing and/or correct whatever I've remembered incorrectly.  I'm doped up on medication for an ear infection, having spent much of my Saturday dealing with that and drugstores. ~~

The Daniel Dilemma
Cap #80

Ximena and Isadora exchange information.  Xi says that she now knows Alonso's lied to all of them and has been lying to them all this time about the worthless power of attorney supposedly allowing her daddy to collect on the inheritance for DDA; a faked will naming Al as heir to the M.Q. if she dies and that the bull incident was Isadora's doing; and that she knows who Daniel really is: that the guy in the picture isn’t really Daniel Diaz Acosta; and the real DDA is actually the guy they've know as Andres Duarte!  Isa is all “no puede ser” at this revelation.  Xi says he has the same birthmark as she and her daddy have.  She trades Isadora the 411 for why Alonso has gone nuclear over Mamadora: he’s learned about some deep dark secret that Isa and Salomon had kept from him.  Isa ‘fesses up that Al’s daddy forced her to sign a document claiming Li’l Lonnie was her natural born son when he really wasn’t.  Xi informs her that Al has also joined sides with DDA and Camila, so Isa admits that she and Dionisio have taken sides against Alonso.  The two women agree not to tell another sould that they know Andres Duarte is really DDA.

Piedad finds Cam in the pasture on the way back from her ride and mentions that Pablo has moved out of the hacienda because he wants to marry Luzma.

Natalia is totally bummed with Yago’s Frosty The Snowman attitude towards her.  She’is sitting there simply staring at her computer screen when snotty Brat Girl, Iliana, waltzes in and unloads a sh!tload of “I told you so” on her.  Not what the doctor ordered, but lays it out plain as day for Nat.  “Yago’s only a playboy who uses a girl and dumps her right after like a used, wadded up kleenex.  He’s not like personable Pablo who will stand up for or fight for his love[er].  His parents won’t stand up for you either  because you’re poor like Luzma.  Better you break it off with him instead of the other way around.”  Nat goes looking for Yago and tries to have a meaningful discussion.  Bad idea #2 (#1 was agreeing to that bit of afternoon delight when they should have had the picnic lunch instead) Bad Idea #3 was bringing up perfect Pablo  in this “discussion” cuz it only enrages jealous Yago.  (Is there a coat of many colors from Yago in Pablo’s Christmas stocking?)  He tells her he’ll never be like Pablo and if that’s what she expects then he’s calling it quits right there and then.

Isa tells Dio that Al has gone over to The Dark Side with Camila and DDA.

Cam runs into Mariano while thinking through her Daniel dilemma.  She tells him that Andres turned out to be the real DDA and that she’d ended it with him.  They discuss Yago’s fight with Rodolfo over Yago’s supposedly taking advantage of Nat.  He also mentions that Pablo has left the hacienda and is looking for a job since he’s planning on getting married without his parents’ blessing.  He thought his kid brother could work for the M.Q. as their new administrator in training.  She agrees and is thrilled he has made his move for independence and to have him working with her at the hacienda.

Nat goes back over to La Malquerida and runs into Rodolfo along the way.  She gives him Hell over starting a fight at La Buenaventura over her.  She tells him to back off and to keep out of her way cuz she never wants to hear from or see him again!   A bit later she finds Cami outside on the drive at the La Malquerida and asks to be allowed to work at the M.Q. again.  Is it because of Yago?  Yes, Nat sadly admits it is.  Cam says she has her reasons why she cannot take her back there for now at the M.Q., but promises to see if they can arrange for her to work from an office in town again like when Don Daniel was alive.  For now she’ll have to return to the Buenaventura.  Nat sighs and resigns herself to the mental torture.

Francisco overhears Agustina give her sales pitch for retirement funds.  Once the client’s gone he gets nosy about what her commission is for one of those sales.  He says he has quite a few rich friends who might be interested.  Gussie blows Frank off.

Dio attends another investors’ meeting and tells them he’s been in talks with DDA directly and when he eventually gets DDA to sign over the deed, he wants Alonso’s cut in addition to his own.  They agree and vote to report Alonso to the authorities for failure to comply and to send him to prison over it.

At Vivi’s place, all four Musketeers have been discussing their next moves.  They’re in a holding pattern till Teresa can get proof of Daniels identity, i.e., his birth certificate so he can present himself to the authorities and claim his inheritance.   Dio shows up and gripes at D’Aaron and D’Andres for playing him like a fool.  Rafa and Vivi leave to do errands.  Dio complains that DDA’s allied himself with Alonso.

Vivi shows up at Cami’s place and warns her that Cami’s going to lose the love of her life if she doesn’t throw her foolish pride to the side.  Cami eventually considers Vivi’s advice and prays to the diosito for more guidance.

D’Aaron wants to know how that got around since he’s had no direct discussions with Alonso.  D’Andres says with all his spies watching them he’d certainly know that was true.  So, who told him this?  Dio informs them it wasn’t Alonso, and then lies that he hasn’t got anyone watching them anymore.

[Courtesy of ViviDC] ~~ Other stuff that happened:

- The Scooby Gang convinces Aaron to stay in Aculco after Dan has revealed himself and to start a self-sustainable community, that will help people in need, like the one he started in Chiapas. Aaron looks like he might be convinced, since the Chiapas community is already up and running and doesn't really need him anymore. Vivi in particular was not ok with the idea of Aaron leaving for good.

-Piedad asks Cami if it's ok for her to leave for the north right now/today. Cami gives her blessing.

- Ana tells Nana Refugio about homeless boy Roman and asks her for her help and to keep quiet about it. Ana especially doesn't want to tell Snob Grandma Rocio, since she knows her attitude about poor people. Nana confirms that minors who don't have parents have to be under the guidance of some authority like an orphanage.

- Dan drowns his sorrows over Camila in tequila, and thinks he's cursed in the love department-- first Miriam, and now Cami. The other boys tell him not to lose hope.

- Frank asks Gussy how much she earns per client for the insurance scheme (scam), and from the look on her face it's obvious she's never been paid, and never thought about it before. Franks seems to sense it's a scam, and an opportunity to make cash off of his rich friends too.

- Already feeling like a clueless fool after her talk with Frank, Gussy flies off the handle to learn Cami gave Piedad leave and didn't tell her about it.

- Al gives Cami a copy of the tourism development contract he signed. He wants the two of them to meet with Dan about it, but she says she will be the go-between and will take it to Dan. Cami points out that the contract only has his signature and proves nothing about Dio or Isa. He begs for help so that he's not thrown in jail. He's already lost her, his jobm and now he might lose his freedom. Cami points out it's his own damn fault and that he's the only one who can help himself by bringing them proof. She tells him, "If you bring me and Dan real proof against Dio and Isa, then we might be able to help you. Without that, I don't see any other way to help you."

Thanks Jardinera, this story continues to get more complicated. I love it.

And I didn't like Xi and Isa plotting without us being in on it. That is not good. Right now the badguys are getting the upper hand.

And although I have been patient with Camila, trying to be understanding of her feelings of betrayal and all, I am now officially sick of her being mad at him. HE DID IT FOR YOUR PROTECTION, LADY! She even knows now that Isa tried to kill her with the bull.

And can wardrobe please do something about the Alberan men's shirts? The 1980's are calling and they want their ugly shirts back.

And while I'm talking about wardrobe, Xi, your dresses are not flattering on you. They make your butt look big.
Isa, sometimes you nail it and sometimes you don't. Cammo dress is a don't.

Also, wardrobe? Dan can wear whatever he wants or not wear whatever he wants. He looks good in anything and nothing.

So I'm pretty sure that Nat is being set up to be working for daddy dearest. Unless Amanda clues her in. And then she can work for him and be a spy.

Ok, I'll let others comment now.

LOL! Running out the door Cathyx, but I love your wardrobe comments. I think the point of Xi's dresses IS to draw attention to her backside. Mission accomplished. ITA about Dan and his wardrobe, or lack thereof. ;-)

Cathyx--I will chime in as I always love a wardrobe discussion! ITA re Alberran shirts but can we throw Camilas shirts out as well?! I don't know where they find those long, form fitting shirts but they have got to go! No one can pull that look off, especially when you throw in a headband with a bow!

Ximena is awfully glam for a bull ranch.

I'm noticing a pattern with Issadora: animal prints, camouflage, safari (or hitler youth as someone funny called it)--she shows her wild side through her clothes.

Katy

Looking forward to the recap!

Am I the only one who was mad at Camila for telling Mariano that Andres was Daniel? And why did she tell him that she doesn't know if he ever loved her or not? He nearly bled to death for her, and cried her a river. He's an alpha-male. He wasn't just making that up. He wasn't wincing in pain as a joke. He wasn't bleeding all over her floor while expressing his love because he didn't mean it.

It's interesting that Isadora is probably plotting to do what Daniel feared in the first place. Get to Camila through him, because of the vulnerability factor. Isa could easily now threaten Daniel to give up La Malquerida or else she'll kill Camila. Not that Dan-the-Man will take that laying down. He'd undoubtedly have a plan or counter her.

Team Rodolfo!!!!!

So now Natalia knows that she was just used. She kept saying that she wanted a man like Pablo. Everyone kept telling her that Yago wasn't like Pablo. But she didn't believe it until she heard it directly from him. "I'm no Pablo!"

Now Pablo. I would understand if he was an intern for the administrator. Assistant Administrator, or Assistant *to* the Administrator. But THE Administrator? That's too much "Alabarran-ness" for me. He's just out of undergrad right? That's a huge entry-level position. Even though Mariano said that he would supervise him, I still think that it's too much, too soon. Goodness. Nepotism at it's finest. Of course it's interesting nepotism on both sides even though they don't know it, but still.

Ximena. That woman. She is truly only out for herself. For a while there, I actually thought that she loved Al. She didn't even try to see his side, or take his side, or support him. It was just, "You better not leave me at the alter!!" And then, she sides with the women who she know cut out Leonicio's tongue ... against her mother, sister, father, AND brother. Sad state of affairs.

That was supposed to be *woman* ... Letecia Calderon (sp?)as Isadora is a lot of woman, but that was supposed to be singular.

While I'm at it, I thought that knowing what she does, Camila was too quick to suggest that Alonso should just go to jail without seemingly taking into account Isadora and Dionisio. Not that Alonso isn't responsible for his part, but it sounded like Camila was very willing to just let Alonso take the fall.

I think that she still underestimates the Isadora factor. She seems to be taking it very lightly.

Perhaps when she was talking with Natalia and telling her that she couldn't come back to La Mal, she realized that she (Camila) was doing exactly the same thing that everyone was doing with her, the thing that she was so mad about ... lying to protect a person that you care about for their safety. So is Camila a hypocrite now?

Yes, I'm agreeing with those that feel that Camila is just not seeing things as they are and how far people were willing to go to protect her. It drives me a little crazy how she believes she's right in this, especially now knowing that Isadora tried to kill her! Increible!

Looking forward to the recap, Jardinera. Of course, no pressure. I'm just not sure of all that Viviana said to Camila, but it sounded good to me.

I'm disappointed in Ximena, although I can't imagine why I thought she was at least real when she professed to love Alonso. I'm actually feeling a little sorry for him right about now.

Cathyx you are too funny and ITA w/your assessment of the Alberan men's shirts. In the TN world, plaid must be popular b/c we were concerned about plaid w/Abismo too.

And yes Natalia is completely being set up to work for Dio.

netgirl - I was also uncomfortable w/Cam sharing w/Mariano as I don't think she told him that info is sensitive. And like Cathyx, I was upset w/her "too many lies" line. I hope in her conversation w/Natalia, she did realize her hypocrisy.

Did anyone else have a beanie moment when Xi went from being afraid of Isa to being her partner especially knowing what she knows? How is she conveniently ignoring Isa's viciousness and not realize she will be next on Isa's list? Does planning to kill her sibling guarantee you a place in TN Hades? To do so with one's mother I know does but not sure w/sibs.

No spoiler here but it appeared in the advances that someone was coming into Camila's cabin...me thinks it was Bruno. Dear lord, do we have a kidnapping to burden us with?

Well, if you all want to talk fashion, Xi's backside just might be one of those padding boards that the female cast of Despierta America is so found of wearing to protect themselves from the mic pack. Makes those girls butts look like something one would see in geometry class.

Dioniso seems a little slow on the uptake as to the real Daniel. This will not sit well when he finds out Hissadora already knows and didn't share.

These pre-recap chats are truly a week end bonus. I really enjoy hanging out with you guys while we wait :-)

Cathyx, I love your comments about Cami. I too have been very patient with her. But enough is enough. Until she starts forgetting and forgiving, I'm out of sympathy.

Your wardrobe comments are so funny. I hadn't noticed the Alberan men's shirts. I'll have to replay the tape before I vote yay or nay. But I have noticed how Ximena's dress shows off her huge butt and that's gets a negative vote from me. Like ViviDC said, mission accomplished. And yes, gorgeous Dan looks good in anything or not a thing.

Netgirl, Yes, Cami surprised and disappointed me when she revealed Dan's identity to Mariano. I'm also disappointed that she refers to everything as lies.

You voiced very good feelings/concerns about Pablo becoming administrator. ITA.

The reason I feel a bit sorry for Alonso because I know that in the end he's going down with all of the other bad guys. It's as though he was doomed from the start!!

There are cultures that actually like a large butt on a woman. So maybe she is emphasizing it on purpose.

It's an actual TN rule that any person is qualified to do any job needed, no matter the training or lack of it. And they are also really good at it.

I don't mind Camila's shirts, at least they don't stand out in a noticeable way like the tiedyed and paint splotched ones from Mariano and Yago.

So D'Aaron denied making a pact with Alonso to Dion. They told him that whoever told him that was trying to deceive him. Love it.

OK. I'm back.

I don't think we've seen a checked shirt on the men, have we? But yes, that tie-dye number Yago was wearing was horrible!

Most cultures in this world, except European and Asian ones, like a woman's butt to be shapely. LatAm is included. Xi's dresses are doing exactly what they were meant to do. She would get many whistles and admiring stares on the streets of most urban US cities.

Cami's shirts make perfect sense for a vet who works on a ranch. No complaints from me because I am tired of heroines wearing impractical clothing and shoes. In addition to being practical, the cut is flattering. She has lost the headbands since she and Dan have been on the outs. They appeared when she first started to fall for Dan. Hmmmm... Headbands=Love.

I think Cami must be close to breaking point by now. She's just being stubborn at this point. Perhaps it will take a kick in th pants, like a kidnapping attempt, to get her to finally let it go and forgive Dan. Now that Isa knows Andres is Dan, she knows Cami, not his dad or sis, is his weak point. Cami is her number one target again. This is NOT a good thing.

I'm pretty sure Mariano knows he can't go blabbing that Andres is Dan. I don't mind Cami telling him. Why not? He's a good person. And Dan has told half of Aculco who he is so that he can have people to confide in. Why can't Cami tell the one person she trusts right now so that she can have a person (who she's not mad at) to bounce her feelings and thought off of. Part of her problem right now is that she's only had herself to speak to about her mixed up feelings. This hs gotten her nowhere. Speaking to someone else might just do her some good.

Anita: Can you email Gatoviejo that the guia didn't change to Dec. 7th yet? Thanks!

Jardinera- So sorry to hear you've been suffering with an ear infection. This recap is wonderful and plenty good enough. No need to feel like you need to go back and fill things out. Get some rest and get better!

Marta in NY- I can go back to my recording and give you a play by play of the Vivi-Cami conversation, but Jardinera summed it up nicely.

Thanks for the recap, especially under the circumstances. I used to get ear infections all the time and they are horrible. I hope your meds take effect quickly.

I had a different impression about the discussion D'Arron and D'Andres had with Dion. I thought they denied having an alliance with Al and whoever told Dion is trying to trick him.

Also, in the conversation Francisco had with Aggie, didn't he say something to her that made her question the legitimacy of the investments? But I could be wrong about that.

So is the reason that Cam doesn't want Nat at Malquerida because she's mad at Nat for keeping Dan's secret?

Cathyx- No. The reason Cami doesn't want Nat at MQ is because Amanda and Os want her away fro Dio. That's why she told Nat is was for her own good and asked her to trust her on this. That's also why she suggested they set up offices in town, as they had under Don Dan. Anything to keep Nat away from Dio.

Yes, your take on what D'Aaron and D'Andres said to Dio is spot on. They denied any dealings with Al, told Dio whoever told him is a liar, and said if he wants confirmation that they have never met with Al, all he has to do is ask his men who are watching them. When Dio denied he's still having them watched, they said he'll just have to take their word for it then.

Vivi, ok, that makes sense about Nat and Cam, but it will probably do exactly what they are trying to avoid. She'll probably go to work for him at his office. Then she'll meet Bruno, fall in love with him and live a life of crime. (Just kidding about that last part)

OK. Looking through my recording now. Other stuff that happened:

Jardinera, thank you for the fabulous recap. So sorry you're suffering with this. Ear infections are really awful to endure, and I'm hoping that you feel better soon.

Vivi, thank you so much for your kind offer to recap the Vivi-Cami conversation, but the recap was great, and it was what I understood it to be so it's not necessary. I do appreciate it!

Thanks Vivi for your great additions to the recap. I had forgotten about Aaron considering staying. I hope he does!

Cathyx- How about she falls in love with Omar? :) I would love to see Omar give Yago a beatdown. And Dan too. He's like a big brother to Nat. Let's have all the men in Nat's life give Yago a beatdown. Actually, if Dio finds out about what Yago did to his daughter, he might just send Omar to do a beatdown on him. Bwahahaha!!

Jardinera - Feel better. There's nothing like an ear infection to make you feel miserable.

It sounds like we are all tired of Camila's separation from Daniel. Apart from the fact that it's a plot device to keep our love-birds apart, it is meant to be consistent with Camila's character, I think. She's stubborn, as Vivi says -- a trait often found in strong women in novelas, e.g., Sophia in FELS, Gaviota in DA, etc. They find true strength, however, in the end in learning to forgive and trust again. I always find this to be contrived, but it has a lot of staying power as a way of separating our main couple of novelaland.

I wouldn't mind Camila's shirts, Ximena's dresses or the fellows' shirts if they occasionally varied their wardrobes. I can't imagine having an endless supply of shirts in exactly the same pattern, as Camila has.

On the good side of things, the complications just keep on coming. This is one you you can't watch casually. Gotta keep track of the relationships as they shift and new information comes into play.

Vivi, Omar? He held down Leo while Isa cut his tongue out. I don't think they're a match. Although I wouldn't mind Yago getting roughed up a bit. Poor Yago though, he has classic middle child syndrome. I'm a middle child too, so I feel his pain.

When Ana came into the kitchen to talk with Nana, she put the puppy down on the floor. That puppy went right to sleep where she set it down. You know that it gets so much attention on the set that the poor thing was exhausted.

Omar just watched the tongue cutting, and appreciated it. The other two goons held Leon down. But between Bruno and Omar, I choose Omar. (Totally kidding about either of these two being a real love interest for Nat.)

Just a quick note to say thanks to Jardinera for a fine recap and to Vivi for filling in some very helpful details. I've got nothing to add to the excellent comments that have already been made.

Jardinera, I do hope you feel better soon. We're all indebted to you for coming through with the recap in spite of being ill.

Vivi, after I posted that, I realized that Bruno was sniffing Viv's underwear, so I guess they both are catches.

Cathyx- LOVE the telenovela rule of job hunting! I'm looking for ajob. Maybe I should try telenoelaland. I could administer a ranch. And be a vet. And a Maja dog-walker/cook/evil-tourist-resort-developer. I'd get my resume in order, but why? No one seems to bother.

And I don't mind her long plaid shirts. It makes more sense for a ranch than ones tied up way above the navel (Cynthia!) Camila can keep her navel free of cow dust. Plus we've made fun of SN's wardrobe before and she's turned out to be ahead of the trends. We should all be out looking for long plaid shirts.

Kelly

Jard, thanks for your recap. I hope you feel better soon.

I liked Cami's shirts. I think she wears them well.

Talking about the men's shirts, what do you think of Aaron's shirts. I'm always looking to see if the buttons are on the left...haha, especially the black one. They're so girlish. But I like him a lot even though I think his shirts are questionable.

Ann-NYC

Ann-NYC- LOL! I think Aaron is just wearing native Chiapas shirts-- like the good hippie he is. The female versions have way more embroidery on them. Actually, the embroidery in that region is quite beautiful.

Thanks Jardinera for your fabulous recap despite your earache. Must be a bug going around because I've been nursing one for the last 3 or 4 days. It's still bothersome despite drops and meds.

I didn't realize that the conversatioon between Vivi and Cami ended on a positive note. Cami was resisting at the time I left the TV for one quick moment and Vivi was gone. So, I didn't hear the end of the conversation.

Question: What was Dan's reply/excuse when Dio accused him and D’Aaron of playing him like a fool? I didn't catch Dan's reply..

Jardinera, hope you feel better soon.

Quick notes:

Love the little birds.

Was surprised that Cam told Mariano about Dan.

Keep having to remind myself that for Cam it’s only been a few days since she heard the Dan news.

I like Cam’s shirts and think they would are stylish/appropriate for someone my age too.

Also like Aaron's shirts.

Remember Val’s cleavage tops in StuD?

Vivi: What Renata said about this TN being a combination of an earlier version and new material—has that happened before?

Nanette

Here is a list of the high and low points for me this past week:

Highpoints:

Cam and the puppies.
Cam and Maha.
Os talking to Cam about Dan.
Ileana telling Rodolfo about Iago.
Rodolfo beating the crap out of Iago.
Ana finding a playmate.
Pablo and Luz moving forward.
Pablo telling Leo he’d lost.
Francisco’s drunken scene—very funny.
Using Xi and Al’s song (which is appropriate as their theme song) as a karaoke (totally inappropriate) love song. Too funny.
Vivi and Cam's heart-to-heart.
Cam, Mariano and the little birds.
Nat realizing Iago's a jerk.

Low Points:

Dio realizing Amanda is in town.
Dio coming to see Amanda and trying to charm Nat into working for him.
Iago taking Nat’s virginity.
Iago telling Nat to lie to Mariano about their relationship.
Cam and Dan’s sad love song—which is pretty but so loud it’s hard to hear the dialogue and, frankly, one part of it makes my ears hurt.
Xi telling Isa about Dan.
Nat being heartbroken.

Nanette- I believe this same group of writers did the same thing with Cuando Me Enamoro-- part was a remake and the other part was a whole new original story. I believe the last Corazon Salvaje was a combination of two previous telenovelas-- CS and Yo Compro Esa Mujer-- but I could wrong about that. It's not unusual these days as tns are longer. If they are a remake, they need new content, otherwise they just feel drawn out for no reason like Abismo de Pasion.

Nanette- I love your list of the high points and low points of the week. ITA.

Vivi, you are right; CS 2009 was a fusion with YCEM. In fact, YCEM dominated the story. I even had the original hero and villain of YCEM.

I'm enjoying this one tremendously because it keeps us on our toes. This doesn't happen for me with the comedies.

Vivi: CME is my fav so I have high hopes for this one if it's following the same pattern. I thought it would be fun to review the week. I might do it every week from now on.

ViviDC and all:

Thanks, everyone, for your patience and understanding. Thanks also to ViviDC for adding in the things I missed and giving some great explanations for those with questions still. I will "officially" paste Vivi's highlights in with my minicap with a big hug. Hearts to you, amiga.
===============
Nannette: I, for one, would welcome a "week in review-the highs and the lows". Thanks for your current list which I enjoyed immensely.

Nanette - Love your lists! Only thing I would add to the "high" list is Piedad's visit to Slime Leo.

That was a great scene. Loved how she gave it to him with both barrels. Here's hoping we've seen the last of Leoncerdo.

If this series has any PSAs I hope they include one on literacy. I'd like to see Piedad learn to read and write. It's never too late for that.

That was a good scene. Doesn't Piedad already know how to read and write? Just not super well. She just needs to practice more.

Nanette- It would be great if you could do a weekly round-up for us every week! So much happens in this tn each week, and alliances shift so much. Just this week alone we saw the bad guys shift alliances and strike new alliances at least five times.

Jardinera - Thanks. Hope the meds kick in fast and that you feel much better soon.

Enjoyed all the comments. Nothing to add, except I give a thumbs-up to Camila's fitted shirts. In the beginning though I think the shirts were a bitter shorter. I prefer the shorter version to the longer ones she's been wearing lately.

I can't stand the plaid shirts. I wish they'd get rid of those.

Will we ever see Ximeana in something other than spandex?

Jardinera thanks for your recap and hope you recover quickly. Ear infections are not fun.

Vivi - thanks for your additions. This TN has been quite a ride and thus far one of the best I've seen in a while.

Nanette - thanks for your weekly round-up. As Vivi noted, these will be helpful b/c this TN is like a chess match and you need a cheat sheet ;)

Thanks everyone for your appreciation of my lists. I didn't think about doing it until Thursday, so I went back and checked my comments for the week to get the info. Next week, I'll keep daily notes. However, since they're my ideas of high and low points, I might not include some that others feel should be on the list. Since we have so much time between Friday and Monday's ep.,I thought my lists might open up some more discussions, especially if there are some disagreements about what I included or didn't include--in addition to UA's weekend blog discussions (not that I'm comparing my little lists to UA's awesome blog).

I did miss noting Piedad's scene with Leo. Kudos for her, but I still found the Pablo/Leo showdown more satisfying.

I like the two version of the long shirt that Cam wears, though I wish the longest one was just an inch or two shorter. A couple of inches more and they would be shirt dresses (of course, if Xi was the type to wear shirt dresses, they would be the perfect length for her.)

Talking about beauty and fashion, I didn't like SN's hair at first--missed her wild curls. However, I like it now and think it more appropriate for her character.

I vote for Cam's shirts too. I like them. She looks like a country big animal vet just like she's trying to portray herself as. I like the purse worn across her chest, and the boots.
I agree with you Nanette, that at first I didn't like her hair so much either at the beginning. I guess I was just used to the curls also, but I like it now, and it would be inappropriate for her to have hair like Viv in this TN.

She's not portraying herself as a sexy thang (thank goodness), and the fact that a hottie like Dan could be so attracted to her makes me want him even more, if that's even possible.

Jardinera, thanks for your recap. I'm glad you were able to satisfy our addictions despite your pain. And Vivi, thanks for the additional notes.

Vivi, I'm with you that it seems very real that Camila would still feel betrayed by all that are close to her. As others have noted, it has only been 2 or 3 days since she has started to learn about all the incredible things happening around her. I like how the conversations with Becerra and Vivi have made her start to think differently. I really like how after she denied Nat's request to return to the ranch, she realized she was covering up information just as others had done to her.

I still don't buy the argument that all this secrecy was needed to ensure Camila's safety. Most of us were pretty frustrated that Dan didn't give it up sooner though we were privy to all the reasons he didn't. The argument that it was for Camila's protection is pretty weak.

I was also surprised that Camila told Mariano about Dan's identity so easily. I agree she trusts him but she still should have told him to keep it to himself. Camila previously had told Mariano about her being in love with "Andres" and told him not to say anything at the present until Andres was better and she had let others know-- but Mariano did talk about it to Pablo. Also since Mariano doesn't know the whole reason why Dan was concealing his identity, I think it puts Dan in a really bad light. I know Camila is angry, but I wouldn't think she would want to do that to him.

Vivi, I'm agree that Xi's prominent bottom is exactly the look that she was going for. I personally think she has a pretty sexy figure though wearing skimpy- covering spandex almost 100% of the time on a ranch is just one of those TN things we have to accept!

Besides plaid, we have seen checked shirts too. Pablo was given a red checked shirt by Ana while he was recovering from his gunshot wound.

I was a little surpass

Scratch that last partial sentence. Forgot to delete!

What was the name of a novela where Camila had curly hair? I missed that one. Is it available on DVD?
Thx

SN had curly hair in "Cuando Me Enamoro". It is avail on DVD and can be purchased at Amazon and at Wally World (Wal-Mart).

OT, but relevant: The singer Jenni Rivera, who sang the title song to "Eva Luna" has been officially declared dead in a plane crash in Northern Mexico near Nuevo Leon. There were no survivors of the Lear Jet crash.

I am trying to remember the name of the theme song that she sang for "Eva Luna". I posted this question on the Anthropologist's weekend discussion about Tony Bennett.

She was only 43. MSNBC is carrying the story. Don't know how to give direct links on your site.

Thanks for helping me with the title song to "Eva". Will also check You Tube.

I really feel sad for her and her children.

Thank you for your site.

Foxy: SN had curly hair in her first Televisa TN, Manana es para Siempre (MEPS), too.

Thanks for the info Anon and Nanette. I'm definitely going to order the DVD. I didn't watch TN's for over a year because I was busy studying. That is until a friend from Spanish class told me about Amor Bravio with both Silvia Navarro and Cristian DlF. The 10 O'clock hour works fine for me. (I'm retired).

I missed the weekend party. Sounds like it was fun. My mom fell and broke her hip, so I'll be away more than I'd like to be. I love this show, but the stars are not aligning for me to be an active participant.

Nanette, I love your list. It helps to get it all spelled out. No pressure here but, yes, it would be wonderful to have it spelled out weekly for us. Thanks!

Xi does want to show off her big butt in those dresses. I wonder if she realizes it jiggles when she walks?

On the other hand, SN likes to cover her butt with the long shirts. I noticed that in CME too. Whenever she had on those revealing horseback riding pants they took great pains to NOT show her from behind.

Did SN curl her hair for CME and MEPS? Or is she straightening it now?

So sad about Jenni Rivera. I saw a write-up about her in a recent People en espanol. 5 kids.

Kelly: "telenoelaland"!!! LOVIT!!!
Also love Cam's shirts that suggest doctor's coat, eh?
Still watching and reading when I can. Thank you Recappers and commenters too.

Thank you Vivi for pointing out the it's only European and Asian cultures that like women that have stick bodies. The rest of the world want women who look like women. Anyone that thinks Ximena's butt looks bad is looking through the eyes of the American brainwashed public of what is attractive.

Bonney Churros: Cam's shirts do look like lab coats. Good eye.

Foxy: MEPS got a really good DVD review. There were only a couple of CME reviews the last time I checked so not sure how that transferred.

RlaO: I think SN's hair is curly and she straightened it for this TN.

Flaco said that SN had butt enhancement surgery and that it's now starting to look bad. That may be why she's wearing shirts to cover it.

I'll continue with the lists. Normally, they'll be posted sometime on Saturday since I don't usually watch AB on Friday evening. However, this week it will be posted on Friday AM since there's no AB this Friday.

Nannette, I thought that I read on another comment section that we do have AB on Friday. Just not the other shows before it. Can anyone confirm it?

Cathyx: According to my Fios TV schedule in the LA area of the West Coast, it shows a telethon playing at that time.

According to another post, AB is on Friday, just an hour earlier-- 9pm EST. It follows 2 hours of Carona de Lagrimas (uff!).

so what is up iago's butt? it seemed like he was really into nat, not just trying to get into her pants. and i guess i can understand being surprised when he took her virginity, but wasn't he on board with this relationship being something other than his usual wham bam? maybe i was imagining that, hoping that nat had a natural bullshit detector. i get it in terms of "this is how TN plots go" but some of you are very good at interpreting inner feelings that may be there. why did he picnic with her? and by picnic, i mean, do the dew, etc.

and to follow the theme. i like natalie in yellow but frankly, i am getting really tired of it. too much. maybe isadora can interpret yellow clothes for her. i hear it's the color of choice for psychiatric patients. in flowers it means "friend zone." in ribbons it means come home. in texas it means, well, i don't remember!

and can i say, at first i thought their love song was cute, but like the yellow it has grown "off" me. it plonks along like drunk parrots or something. least romantic song ever!

mai tai- The Nat-Yago love song is an ironic song, much like their romance. The tune is bouncy, but the words are about a girl thinking about dumping her boyfriend because he's inattentive and unloving with her. I think the audience is meant to be just as confused as Nat about what Yago's feelings are. He seems to like her, but also doesn't want anything serious. He's sending her hot and cold signals. But isn't this often true in real life? When this happens to my girlfriends in real life, I always tell them to dump the guy. It's not worth the drama and the game playing. But women are often guilty of hanging on, which Nat has been doing with Yago. Why do men do this? If I knew the answer, I would be rich from the book I would write. I think it was summed up nicely in a book called, "He's Just Not That Into You". Nat should read it.

Vivi: I have AB programmed on my DVR as a series record and it's not showing on my Friday schedule. Maybe it's a regional thing? So not fair.

I just went to Zapit TV listings, and for the East Coast they show AB on at 9pm before the Teleton at 10pm, but for the West Coast it's Teleton all evening long starting at 7pm. At this point I'm not sure what will be happening. We should all keep ours eyes peeled for ads about the Friday schedule in all the time zones.

I thought Yago was setting off alarms from the first 'here' drink this don't be a baby and the first time he cold shouldered Nat so his family would not catch him smooth talking her. Locking the office door so as not to be caught, encouraging her not to tell her mother about him - sneak dates; brushing her off at the hospital remember.

The jerk attributes continue: When Nat said I did it because I love you his reply was along the lines of you're cute. And dumping her in the middle of town because he doesn't want any trouble right now. ?.
Note to Nat, the first time was for practice now go find love.

Vivi: thank goodness for Caray, Caray! then if that's true and some of Viewerville will be seeing it and some won't.

Flaco just got back from Mexico and told me Jorge Salinas is in a new TN playing there, if anyone is interested. And FC's is playing, too.

Bonney- Yep. Same advice I would give a girfriend. Doesn't matter what "potential" the guy has. Doesn't matter if he's really sweet, "sometimes." Dump his butt! Have some dignity. He's not worth it, and he obviously doesn't think you are either, otherwise he would treat you and his relationship with you with respect.

I was reading an article about Jenni Rivera and said she crashed near Nuevo Leon. That name sounds so familiar.

Speaking of big butts, in some cultures people tend to be naturally endowed with big butts because they have large supportive hip bones. People within some cultures have smaller hip bone structure and the only way they can have a big butt is to get injections (ouch) or wear a padded girdle.

When I was growing up many moon ago, “decent” women wore tight girdles and corsets in order not to draw attention to the rear end. When women first started burning their bras and girdles, I wondered what this world was coming to ;-) Thank heavens those days are gone, but I’m still left with the feeling that it boils down to personal taste rather than labeling big butts either good, bad or more or less American. (Maybe I’m just jealous of XI’s because mine hasn’t got me any woof calls in years, just loss of muscle tone, tons of fat, and cellulite):-)

Now on to the men:

Saw two holiday movies this weekend, each had a character with THE BEARD.

Foxy, I have always envied Ice Queen types who barely have the bonbon. It looks so much more upper crust. I'd gladly give up half of my rear end if that were possible.

i think i fell victim to reverse psychology? with yago seeing ileana being a jerk, i figured he was willing to give love with a poor girl a try, and took mariano's warning and wasn't going to get involved unless he felt serious. maybe refugio suggested he act decently too? i see now that i was reading into it, and yes, all the clues are that he would use nat like a yellow dishrag.

i also really liked nat. as a working girl i thought she had some sense, but i see now she's missing all those clues too, and is dumb about many many many things (rodolpho). i suspects she will run to dio like a moth to flame.
