Amor Bravío #81 (Uni 76) Mon 12/10/12

Capitulo 81: Bad Omens

Lo del Pasado

Camila takes the file from Alonssso and they have words; Aaron tells El Diablo he has allied himself with nobody.  He has not seen Alonssso nor has he spoken with him.

Lo de Nuevo

Park:  Rafael and Viviana walk around; she's taking pictures of children. They talk about her lost baby and she asks him whether he would ever like to be a father. He says “Someday.” She changes the subject of his lost chapter and he says he couldn't find it anywhere in his computer; he will have to rewrite it. They laugh, playfully fight over the camera, and end up embracing as their love theme begins. She breaks the embrace by aiming the camera at him and they leave the park.

Viviana's Apartment:   Aaron and Daniel discuss the Alonssso issue. Now that El Diablo doesn't trust him he will be of no value to them. He also opens the issue of Francis Javier, who must now know that the POA is valueless. Daniel is sure that his sperm donor was looking somehow to profit from their relationship, but now is looking elsewhere.  Daniel states he has no feeling for him. If he was capable of abandoning him when he was a small child, nothing will improve from there.

Mariano's Unfinished House:  Ana enters, holding Muñeca, and accompanied by Refugio.
They call for Roman, telling him not to be afraid. When he doesn't respond, they wonder where he is hiding, but he finally comes out from hiding when Ana assures him that Refugio will not rat him out. Refugio will give him her room to sleep in for the time being, after he's had a good bath, good food, and some new clean clothes. The boy is happy as a puppy with a toy and we note that Ana dresses like a childhood version of Camila.

Hostal:  Pablo comes down to the kitchen as Amanda is sweeping. He's been looking for a job at other ranches and has found nothing. He doesn't want to have to leave the area. He wants to be able to provide for Luzma so she can attend university. Amanda tells him not to worry, but to persevere. “Where there is love, all is possble.” She says. He may have to slightly change his plans, but he will succeed.

School:  A crying Luzma, dressed in her school uniform, comes out on the terrace. The headmistress follows her with advice on something to drink for her morning sickness. She thanks her, but then the lady asks about whether Luzma is considering adoption. At her confirmation, the lady asks her why she is in such a hurry to marry Pablo. She tells her that it's because they love each other and want to be together. The teacher then tells her that they are very young for this responsibility; she tells her to think about it. She is clearly not a fan of marrying young and we suspect that may be history to that.

La Malquerida, Cocina:  Nati enters, looking for Piedad and Luzma, only to have Dorotea tell her that Piedad is traveling and Luzma is at school. Nati needs someone to talk to, so she begins unburdening herself to Dorotea. She was hoping to be able to work there again but it's not possible now. She feels like she has no place. She is not particularly specific about this as Dorotea pours her some coffee. However, during the title sequence they do talk and when we come back in Dorotea has realized that something relating to men has gone wrong for her. Nati is now in mistrustful mode, telling her she's lucky not to have a boyfriend because men can't be relied upon. Dorotea tells her that something might soon happen with Eleuterio, then a few steps later asks whether anything happened between Nati and Iago. Nati denies that anything did; that this was all a misunderstanding. Dorotea seems to fall for this as she excuses herself to bring the tea tray to Augustina, saying that she hopes Nati will eventually work again at La Malquerida. We are now on red alert. Nati takes out her cell phone to check for a number and picks up the kitchen phone and calls Daniel for help. She tells him that she has already spoken to Camila about returning to La Malquerida and that Camila doesn't want to help her. Daniel tells her that isn't true; that Camila knows what she's doing and that she's trying to keep her away from dangerous people. Like Alonssso, for example. He promises her that when all is well she will have her place at La Malquerida. She doesn't tell him anything about Iago.

Park:  El Diablo walks through, talking on his cell phone to Bruno. He asks whether he has seen Alonssso in any of the video footage of Viviana's apartment and Bruno tells him “No; Alonssso has never been in there. At least not since I installed the camera.” He offers to copy the videos for him, but El Diablo is willing to accept his word. He ends the call, concluding that Alonssso lied to him.  This will lead to some nasty -- and possibly amusing -- exchanges.

Hostal: Camila enters to talk to Amanda about El Diablo. She knows that he is Natalia's father.

La Malquerida, Courtyard:  Speak of the devil and he appears in his black SUV calling to the aforementioned Natalia, who is on her way out. The suspense leitmotifs play as he gets out of the vehicle, stops her, and sees she is crying. She tells him she may have to resign her position at La Buenaventua, but doesn't explain the reason. He makes more job overtures to her, handing over his business card with his town address on it. He invites her to meet him there to talk about working for him. He wants someone as efficient as she is and would treat her like a queen. He extracts a promise from her to think about it. They part company near the fountain and she leaves, with him staring after her.

Hostal:  Camila explains that Daniel and not Osvaldo told her about El Diablo being Natalia's sperm donor and that she knows that Andres is actually Daniel. Nati had been at La Malqueridda earlier and Camila hated turning her down and lied to her, but she didn't want her near El Diablo. Amanda is grateful for this, telling that she doesn't want Natalia anywhere near him. Daniel had promised to protect Natalia and Amanda would prefer she quit her job and not be near the wolf den. She apologises to Camila, but that is how she currently sees the possibility of Natalia working at her place. Camila understands perfectly and asks her to tell her anything she knows about El Diablo because she also has to protect her mother.

Restaurant:  Bruno sits alone at a table drinking either a coke or a dark beer when Ximeana
arrives, clearly peeved with him. She accuses him of turning her over to the Monterrey police, which he denies doing. His manner and facial expression say that he could be telling the truth, but that does not prevent him from showing amusement at her plight in the way he asks whether they came looking for her. He tells her she will need to find a good hiding place and lasciviously suggests she move in with him. She is not having this. He pulls back, saying he was just trying to help. She tells him she has a job for him that will make him much dinero, but she needs him to swear his loyalty.  He does.  [A hundred bucks says she is only acting as a go-between for Hissadora, who means to rid herself of El Diablo like the black widow she is].

Hostal:  Amanda finishes the story about her discovery and her leaving her husband. Camila asks whether she knows of any relatives of his from whom they can learn anything, but the answer is no. Mariano arrives and the conversation changes subject. Amanda tells Camila that Pablo is staying there and shortly thereafter he joins them with his sorry tale of job hunting – which has actually only been one day. Camila tells him to worry no more because he is now her new administrator. She and Mariano admit to having discussed it. Pablo – rather than being the independent-to-a-fault type – is practical enough to be grateful. Mariano tells him about recommencing the construction on the house he started building for Ana's mother which is on land next to La Buenaventua. He wants Camila to see it and promises Pablo that when it's finished he and Luzma can move in with him and Ana.

La Malquerida, Study:   El Diablo sits at the desk with paperwork as Augustina enters. At his “Can't you see I'm working?” she tells him she's here to see him about that very thing. In the months she has been selling retirement fund shares she hasn't seen any commission payments yet. Instead of being angry he tells her not to worry her pretty little head about it; he will give her the money she deserves while she's waiting to be paid. She tells him that she wants the money in the proper way and not from his personal funds. He becomes suspicious, asking whether anyone has put anything into her head. She firmly tells him “No, and why do you ask?” He responds that “It's very strange that you would have these thoughts.” She asks if he thinks she's a fool. [It's high time she realizes he does] and he says “Of course not” with ”Of course you do. If you think I am not capable of thinking in the manner you say to recover what I've earned, why did you trust me to run this business?” She exits the room, but should have stayed to see his gestures of frustration as he curses to himself sotto voce.

Viviana's Apartment: Outside, Camila pulls up in the red SUV as the sad love song begins. Inside Viviana and the boys are preparing food and at some verbel cue from Rafael Daniel starts thinking about Chile. He was very much in love with Miriam and so it came as a surprise that he fell in love with Camila. Aaron waxes philosophical and Viviana tells him not to lose hope about Camila. He changes the subject to Luzma but is interrupted when Camila rings the doorbell. She dashes all hopes upon entrance, saying she's only there to act as an intermediary between Daniel and Alonssso. She hands him the file about the proposed tourist development, the file that incriminates Alonssso's involvement (and land him in the carcel in dos semanas). The plan is for Daniel to clear his name and then file suit over this. Daniel tells her that he has something else to tell her. They talk about Nati. Camila suspects that something went wrong with Iago but can't have Nati come back to La Malquerida until the Devil is ousted. Daniel tells her he had made Nati a promise when it's all over. She leaves. The others come out of the kitchen, telling Daniel that they're sorry things aren't working as they hoped.

Camila's Car:   Camila fastens the seat belt as she remembers her first meetings with Rafael and Daniel, ahd her conversation with Viviana about looking for love while she's still married, the restaurant scene with Viviana and Rafael. Finally she voices “Love is strange. For fools.” as she starts up the car and drives off.

Mall:  Ximeana, still in her spandex and dominatrix boots, finds Alonssso and drags him away from a window, demanding to know how he knew how to find her there. He tells her he knew she was peeved with him for delaying the wedding so he went looking for her there because he remembered her telling him that her remedy for everything was shopping. She admits this is true, so he bites his claws [¡Salud!] and checks his watch. He gives her two hours to do all the shopping she wants. She immediately has an orgy of purses, lingerie, jewelry... since when is Alonssso that rich or is he maxing out his plastic? To the tune of “Te Odio” they finally get on the escalator and leave the mall with ten or more shopping bags.  [With the anvil looming, we know this isn't going to last long.]

Hostal:   Amanda and Nati talk again about El Diablo, whom Amanda emphasizes is evil. Nati understands that he is Daniel's enemy, but Amanda explains that he has set things up to make Alonssso take all the blame. Natalia interprets this to mean that there is no solid proof implicating Hissadora and El Diablo, which Amanda confirms, along with saying that Daniel also needs to clear himself to avoid arrest. This causes Natalia to flash back to the courtyard scene. This is a bad omen. Amanda changes the subject to why she never told her she was interested in Iago. Nati accuses Rodolfo of gossiping, but Amanda denies hearing it from him. Nati admits to her interest, but it was a mistake and there is no more to worry about. Another bad omen.

Night.

La Malquerida:  Hissadora reads Vanidades in her room as Ximeana comes back telling Hissadora she found a man for the job. One who is willing to play dirty. [OK, where's my Ben Franklin?] However, he will require payment for services. Hissadora doesn't appear too upset at this, telling her that she will have it tomorrow. She grins at Ximeana and takes her hand. If we did not know otherwise, we would think them mother and daughter.

Hostal: Amanda is upset that Nati didn't confide in her because Iago has a bad reputation as a womanizer. She is pleased that Nati is resigning her job and says that it would be best if she looked elsewhere. Nati is worried about money, but Amanda tells her that the most important thing is that she get away from Iago and La Malquerida. Pablo stands just outside the door and we realize he was the one watching from the other room. He comments that his brother is very bad with women, has never been serious about anyone. He apologises, saying it's best that Nati be away from him, then excuses himself to go to La Malquerida to see Luzma. He exits, leaving Nati to cry in her mother's arms.

Cabaña: Camila returns, exhausted. Rodolfo follows her inside, asking to speak with her.
She notices the swollen lip and he explains about the fight with Iago. She gets upset at first, telling him that the last thing she needs is more problems. Fighting isn't the way to solve the issue.  Mariano didn't seem upset by the situation, but Rodolfo offers his resignation just in case. She tells him no, but please not to do this again. He promises. He's upset that Natalia doesn't return his feelings when all he wanted to do was protect her. He finally takes his leave.

Viviana's Apartment: Daniel is losing more hope every day.  He goes to bed depressed.

Cabaña: Camila enters her bedroom to the flamenco guitar intro and the divan filled with sunflowers. She asks God whether her inability to forgive is pride, ego, or something else.  However, she smiles at the second look at the flowers.

Avances:

Alonssso loses it, Hissadora takes Ximeana's side, and is it time for Daniel and Camila to reconcile?

Thanks very much, UA, for yet another prompt and very helpful recap.

Like you, I was a bit perplexed by Alonso's paying for two hours of Ximena's purchases. A $hopper as experienced and determined as Ximena can do some $eriou$ damange in two hour$. Where did Alonso get that kind of money? (And why isn't he saving to pay for the lawyer he's likely to need very soon?)

I was delighted to see Gullible Gussie stand up to Dionisio and walk out of his office without falling for his half-hearted assurances. Can it be that the episode where she gets a brain transplant got cut accidentally from Univision's version?

Natalia too is now painfully wiser, though it's not clear whether her new insights will help her keep from falling into Papa Dio's clutches. The more people push her to avoid Yago and La Malquerida, the more likely she is to agree to work for Papa Dio. I did wonder, though, when she and Amanda were talking, whether Natalia was thinking about working for Dionisio as a way to help Daniel.

And then there's Bruno, who is apparently going to be on both Dio's and Hissy's payroll. I wonder 1) when he'll have a chance to install the microphones in Vivi's casa, and 2) what Hissy wants him to do. I'd love to see some amusing double dealing arising from these jobs.

It would be interesting if Bruno ends up getting ordered by Hissadora to kill El Diablo while simultaneously getting the order from him to kill her. Personally, I think if that happens the smart thing for him to do would be to take the money and run.

If Natalia does go to work for El Diablo she is likely to find out some dangerous stuff. The problem with this is that when the Big Reveal happens she will try to run and may not be able to.

Thank you for the swift and thorough recap Urban!

Yes, it seems Nat is definitely going to start working for Dio. But she also seemed interested in helping Dan find proof against Dio, so she may be a double agent. We have plenty of those in this tn.

Juanita- It was Francisco who gave Gussy the idea about getting paid. She is actually as dumb/gullible as Dio assumed because she never thought of it herself. I have no faith that she will stick to her guns. She's gotten mad at Dio before, and then totally let herself be fooled by him again.

It does look like Nat isn't as naive as she was before, but now it seems she's become Negative Natalia when it comes to men. I like how Dorotea pointed out that neither Eleuterio nor Rodolfo would use a woman and dump her as Nat now believes "all" men will do. She chose badly and she needs to own up to that. All the signs were there and she was warned. She has no one but herself to blame.

I looked at both the Zapit listing and the schedule on Univision. Both say the exact same thing about Friday, and it makes no sense. In the Central and Eastern time zones, Amor Bravio will follow two hours of Corona de Lagrimas, and it will be on an hour earlier than usual (9pm EST/8pm Central). Then the Teleton will air. Both listings show that there will be NO tns on the West Coast. This can't possibly be right, can it? Would they really just rob the West Coast of Friday's episode? In any case, everyone keep checking your schedules as the week goes on and keep us all posted.

I am also glad that Pablo did not let pride stop him from accepting the MQ job, as usually happens with young guys in these tns. The fact is that none of these ranches would give him the time of day simply because Cayetano called up all the other ranch owners and told them NOT to hire him. One of the ranchers even told Cayetano that he actually WOULD have been able to use Pablo and only turned him down because Caye asked him to. Papa Alberran is playing dirty and the decks were stacked against Pablo. So I'm really glad that Camila is giving him this opportunity and that Pablo isn't too proud to accept it. I just love that he wants to support Luzma through university so that she can become a pyschologist like she wants.

I do see the school director's point about them getting married so young, but I think these two can make it work.

Thanks UA for your recap. I too right away wondered where the money was coming from for Alonso. He does not work anymore. Same thing with Hissadora, but then I remembered the fire insurance. Well with Dionisio, he always have money coming from the swindling investments scams that he has ongoing. I wonder if Gussie would be jailed being an instrument to these retirement investment scams. I think that Natalia would play as a spy for Daniel but would be endangering herself but then again she might completely turn around once she becomes putty under Dionisio's sweet treatment of her. And lastly, the little orphan boy, it would be nice if he gets adopted by Viviana.

I'd like to see Viviana and Rafael adopt this boy. They would be good parents for him and a good influence toward his education. However, Mariano would also be a good father for him and Ana would have a brother her own age.

I think Alonssso probably ran up or maxed out his credit cards. At this stage I'm not inclined to think that Hissadora will give him any money when she gets her insurance payout.

Augustina is definitely at risk of arrest with the investment scam. Her signature is on the incriminating documents; nobody else was involved in recruiting the victims. This is a major anvil looming over her.

Cayetano wants to force Pablo to come home. He's not going to be happy when he finds out that Pablo is working for Camila. Rocio, on the other hand, will be livid. She is too afraid that her secret will come to light.

Thanks, UA. I appreciate the way that you organize your recaps -- entertaining and easy to follow.

I found the scene, where Natalia finally breaks down with Amanda, to be very touching. Who hasn't had the experience of being badly deceived and needing to unload all the bad feeling? And who better than super-Mama Amanda to provide the relief? Too bad that Amanda didn't tell Natalia the truth before she gets in any deeper with Dionisio.

I loved Camila's dance of approach and avoidance with Daniel and the Scoobies (great name for them!) She wanted so much to be there with them, couldn't allow herself to stay, sat in the car thinking about them. And then she went home to flowers! I hope that it's not too late for her to reconnect with Daniel and with her buddies.

Big hints again about Vivi's love of children. As someone said the other day, Roman seems to be a perfect candidate for Vivi's attention.

Telethons are done live, so I can see how the west coast could end up with no novelas that evening. If that is the case and the telethon is short enough so that the west doesn't join it in progress, local stations might cancel local programming the next day and show the novelas then.

If I remember correctly, satellite companies also usually provide both the east and west coast network feeds so that their customers have the option of watching either or both.

Oh, stupid Ximena. You've signed your death warrant working with Bruno & Hissy.

Oh, stupid Gussy. Working for months and not getting paid and not even thinking about getting paid until FX asked if you were getting paid.

Oh, stupid Natalia. Everyone warned you to stay away from Yago b/c he was a womanizer but you went with him anyway. Now that you know that everyone (including both his older and younger brothers) was telling you the truth, you want to blame ALL MEN for your mistake.

UA - very nicely done. Thank you.

Looking at my Comcast schedule for Friday night, it is showing no AB. I am in MST.

There is an AB "La Gran Noche" at midnight on Saturday, but I think that is one of those catch-up episodes.

I was impressed that Rodolfo offered up his resignation. I am wondering, though, if he'll forgive Natalia for going over the "physical cliff" with someone else.

So, to all our YoungUns and Singles...take it from your seasoned commenting friends (I'd call us "mature", but have you heard us cackle at the gratuitous shirtlessness?)that you DON'T have to sleep with someone on the 1st, 2nd, or 3rd date, especially if it is someone you want to develop a relationship with.

UA thanks for the recap. I also was wondering about where Alonso got his funds. Perhaps that's why he snaps tomorrow (I'm joking but not really).

Add me to the list who think Nat will work for Dio as a spy and it will endanger her.

Vivi - Not only am I happy that Pablo accepted the job but also ecstatic that Caye got burned. He told Iago he was proud of Pablo for leaving but still wanted to manipulate him into having to come home AND give up Luzma. His manipulations make it clear that he and Rocio at least have this in common.

Anon207 - your list shows how both good and bad characters can allow themselves to be manipulated against their better judgement.

West Coasters check your TV schedules for Sun @ 2:30 AM.

Thank you, Urban A, for your always wonderful recap! And love the fan.

I too don't get where Alonso got the money for Ximena's splurge.

Love see Vivi and Rafa getting closer. I think they belong together.

Natalia could make a fabulous double agent if that happens. She always seems so honest and wears her heart on her sleeve, so to speak. If she could pull that off, it would be awesome.

I know it's only been telenovela days, but I'm sick of Camila's poker face when she sees the Scoobies and Daniel. Get over it, chica, y pronto!

On a positive note, kudos to Camila for offering that great job to Pablo.

We will be at the Hump Day on Wednesday. That is when this tale hits the halfway mark in terms of number of episodes. We've been set up for a lot of interesting stuff.

Alonssso's fit is about something very serious. Can't wait for tonight's episode.

Is Pablo's new job the one that Mariano has been doing?

I am on Team Rodolfo, but I am also thinking Aaron would be a good match for Natalia. Rodolfo is a little intense, and that bothers Nat, especially when it's directed at her.

Do you think Dio feels *any* fondness for Nat? I wonder when he called her "hija" if his heart swelled, or if it was his own personal joke.

It's hard to tell with him. I doubt that he is being set up for any possible redemption because he has no conscience about anything he does, but suddenly being confronted with a cute and innocent daughter is probably freaking him out a little.

We have an interesting contrast here: Hissadora raises a stepson who believes she is his birth mother until told otherwise while El Diablo runs out on a wife and infant daughter he is confronted with years later. Both of these people are top-level sociopaths who use other people for their own purposes. What may make the difference is that Hissadora's "son" was foisted on her by a controlling husband while El Diablo ran of his own free will. He never had any of the day-to-day responsibility that Hissadora did, Amanda is unlikely to have been a bad wife... and Natalia is actually his daughter. She may be his undoing through no action of her own.

I agree that Rodolfo is a little intense and more than Natalia can handle at this time.

UA - great recap. Thanks for the detail.

El Diablo was abandoned by Amanda when she saw all his fake passports. In the flashback, he was angry they'd left. In an even earlier episode, he looked at an old picture of them so I think there's some feeling there. Since his ego is so grande, my guess is he will have an interest in seeing that Nat is somehow a chip off the old block.

I was all for Luzma marrying so young because (1) Pablo is exceptional and (2) she was living in danger with sordido and a clueless mother. But her teacher's right - there's no reason to rush with marriage now.

Vivi, I know that it was Francisco who gave Gullible Gussie the idea of getting paid, but I still feel her brain cells have come to at least partial life. She has the smarts to make it seems as if it's her idea, she refuses to accept Dio's "don't worry your pretty little head about this" response, and she demands to be paid by the company, not by him. Perhaps I'm grasping at straws, but I find these responses unusual for her and encouraging.

I love it that Cayetano's actions have resulted in Pablo's being much closer to Camila and La Malquerida than would otherwise have been the case. I agree, UA, Rocio's going to blow a gasket when she finds out.

I found myself thinking that Dio really did have some feelings for Natalia, though it's hard to tell. His calling her "hija" was in part his own private joke, but I felt it was possible that he also did feel fondness and pleasure in her being his daughter. Does that mean he wouldn't turn on her if he found she was a double agent? I doubt it. He's out for himself above all.

First before I get into commenting about this episode. I want to say that I don't normally watch Univision or any other Spanish language network to watch anything other than TNs, but in light of the tragedy that occurred over the weekend I've been watching some of the coverage and I have to say Univision is doing a pretty good job.

Anyhow I liked seeing Vivi and Rafa get closer. Looks like Amanda is the last to know about Nat and Yago.

I wonder how Izzy will get Al to lose his mind...

UA: Great recap, as always. You cleared up some things for me.

It sounded like SN had a cold. Her voice was very rough.

Really liked the Vivi/Rafa scene.

I didn’t notice Ana dressing like Cam—wish I had. I did notice her boots, however.

I’m glad Dan explained to Nat why Cam was keeping her from the ranch. They are inadvertently pushing her to be involved with the one person they are trying to protect her from.

When Dio was staring at Nat, it didn’t look evil. Do you think that he might develop fatherly feelings for her?

Loved the whole Aggie/Dio scene. Very funny.

They must have heard me about the Cam/Dan love song. It didn’t seem so loud this time around.

Someone mentioned before that Nat might work for Dio to get the goods on him. Sounds like that might happen. I swear she better not be pregnant (yawn). I’m glad that Nat finally broke down and cried. She needed the release. From Nat’s convo with Doro, it sounds like she’s finally gotten Iago’s number. I was afraid she’d be like a lot of women are when they’re in love—believe that they are the one special woman who can change the guy from zero to hero. We can be sooo delusional when it comes to love.

I thought Mariano told Cam about Rodolfo and Iago.

Do you think Al will commit suicide? Maybe that’s how the other TN ended. It’s not like Isa needs him anymore—she has Xi as an ally now.

Vivi: “I like how Dorotea pointed out that neither Eleuterio nor Rodolfo would use a woman and dump her as Nat now believes "all" men will do. She chose badly and she needs to own up to that. All the signs were there and she was warned. She has no one but herself to blame.”—I totally agree. Hopefully, with time, she’ll realize it.

Vivi: Caye is a fool. It’s not likely that Cam would refuse to hire Pablo on his say so. He has to know that.

RlaO: I hope you’re wrong about the ep showing Sun AM. I hope it’s Friday’s and not some catch up thing.

UA: Re: Nat and Dio-“She may be his undoing through no action of her own.”—I hope so. That would be sweet.

Nanette

Thanks UA, I doubt I'll have time to watch today so being able to read it is wonderful.

I was surprised that Aaron didn't introduce himself to Camila when she was over there. I thought it odd that they didn't meet.

I can see Yago sweet talking Nat into seeing each other again. She is naive enough to believe him.

Camila, the flowers on the bed is the sign you've been waiting for. Listen to it.

RlO- Physical Cliff! Love it.

I think is Dio is more curious about Natalia that paternal. He's probably wondering how he can use her both for the situation and to get back at Amanda.

2 hours to shop and Xi gets purses and clothes? She should've hit the car dealership.

Kelly

Was anyone else shouting at the TV for Viv and Rafa to "KISS ALREADY"!?

We don't yet know how Dion feels about Amanda and Natalia. We know he was mad she left and he had been looking for them for a long time. But we don't know if he wants vengeance or if he is only hurt by what she's done. Does he feel love for his daughter or is he even capable of loving someone? Did he really love Amanda when they were married? We don't know anything about him really.

UA, I always enjoy your recaps, Thanks.
One of my favorite lines: ” She asks if he thinks she's a fool. [It's high time she realizes he does]”. Then you said “Dionicio’s gestures of frustration as he curses to himself sotto voce.” Does sotto voce mean “to himself”? If not, how would you say that someone said something to themselves?

I love the way you phrased Pablo’s good fortune with finding an ideal job. “…… shortly thereafter he joins them with his sorry tale of job hunting – which has actually only been one day”. Ha!serious subject, plot wise, but still funny!

"Sotto voce" means "low voice" and usually meant to be a whisper to exclude others.

If El Diablo truly cared for Amanda back in the day he would have worked at getting her back. I'm sure that whatever anger he felt after she left (my error above) dissipated when he realized that he couldn't hide his criminal activities from her for much longer. If anything I'm sure his pride was hurt.

Whatever he is in thought, feeling, or deed, I doubt that he could pass for Vito Corleone (although if Televisa ever did their own version of The Godfather I think they'd cast CE),

Flaco and I were discussing couples and wondered what was going to happen to Iago and Ileana. I said maybe they'd end up together afterall. And he said that he thought that she might end up as Cayetano's mistress since she's so desparate for money. Ewwww!!!!

Cathyx- Yes. I am so ready for Vivi and Rafa to figure out that they are into each other, and just give in and kiss already. They are very cute when they get all physical, giggly and start their tickle fights, yet don't seem to know that they are flirting.

I've almost caught up with this show, just in time to go on vacation and get behind again. It's so good I don't want to miss any, so I can't skip! Thanks for all the recaps and discussions I've been belatedly enjoying.

I'm guessing maybe Rafa will figure out he's into Vivi just late enough that there will be some sort of conflict with Aaron. Rafa has been shown a few times noticing how close Vivi and Aaron are. Maybe Aaron will make a move, too, or maybe there will be a misunderstanding? It's a telenovela, though, so I don't think they can get settled together too easily without a little drama, and Aaron is the most likely third to that triangle.

Adding to the fashion discussion from the weekend, I don't mind the plaid and kind of like the tunic-length tops. I think Nat should branch out from yellow, or at least wear one or two outfits with only a yellow accessory. Dan is hot IN SPITE OF his high-waisted pocketless pants, which, frankly, do nothing for the caboose. That he can still look good in them is a sign of true guapitude.

At this point it seems that Vivi might think she's more into Aaron, judging from the looks she gives him and her disappointment at the thought that he might leave soon. Her head is telling her that she's into Aaron and Rafa is like a brother, but her heart knows "what's up" and will reveal to her it's the other way around.

Interesting job parallel - Pablo's parents are doing everything they can to make him come home and leave Luzma by making sure he doesn't get a job elsewhere, thus pushing him to work at Malquerida - exactly where they don't want him to be. And Amanda, Daniel and Camila are trying to keep Nat from Malquerida to keep her away from El Diablo - pushing her to exactly the opposite of what they want and have her end up with him. Whether for good reasons (AmDanCam) or for bad reasons (RoCay), they are both going to end up just where their folks don't want them to.

Great parallel Anon 6:14! ITA.

I want Ileana to end up working as the scullery maid.

In my quest to get back Univision, I came across a new channel that showed Downton Abbey en espanol. I wouldn't mind seeing BratGirl scrubbing some fireplaces. Maybe Yago could be a footman, except that might be too good for him.

It's me again. I forgot one thing. I think it's poignant that Camilla offered Pablo the job at Malquerida. Come to think of it, If Pablo is the love child of Daniel and what's his mom's name? Rocio? He and Camilla being cousins, they are the true blood line of Daniel Sr. and so, the true heirs of Malquerida. If only Camilla knew about this.

Forgive me that I haven't read all of the comments but don't you think that Bratgirl is doing Nat a favor - albeit in her own selfish and bratty way. But at least she made Nat open her eyes about Yago..

And I was thinking that Bruno is being asked to do something to Cam because Hissadora was goading Xi to get revenge against her sister, no?

I apologize again for not reading all of the comments and coming in so late. I'm on the west coast and am hoping someone is still reading. My question is this: how did the flowers get into Cam's cabana, since I thought that Vivi told Dan that they could not find Luzma in order to give her his instructions/request?

Now that I have read the comments, I have one thing to add. Nat will be with child. TN law...

LoriLoo - I wondered that same thing. How did those flowers get in her cabana?

Let's hope neither Bruno goes after Camila, or that Nat is PG. However TN law dictates otherwise.
