Por ella soy Eva #101 12/10/12: For You, I Braved the Christmas Ads!

Uh-oh - Adriano is desperate to see Eva, and confronts Mimi at his apartment, saying he will not leave the spot till Eva shows up. Fortunately, Helena manages to get him out (I forgot how), while warning an undisguised Juan to stay away from the exit. The stupid kid tells Helena, what, you didn't know Juan is Eva's cousin? Come on, we'll show you! And they go out to look for Juan who is now hiding (I'm not sure about this part.... I'm pretty tired). He is now hiding behind a car, telling Helena (on the phone) that, sure, I know Eva... I'm not in direct contact with her, but sure. Helena smiles and leaves. What?

Mimi is out with a desperate Adri, and she tells him "haven't you heard, if you love her, set her free. if she comes back, she's yours." He puts on a really funny face and says he'd never heard that before.

Helena's mom is miserable. I tune out for these segments.

AHHAHAHA Kevin asks Fernie why they never help Marcela in the kitchen. Fernie is still a doofus and pulls some "the role of a man" crap out of his butt.

What's his name's wifey is at the club, super pleased with herself over her recent photo shoot! She even signs some autographs while Rebe looks on with an evil look.

Awww, Adri was scared at his health checkup and he wishes that Eva had come to it with him. He mopes a bit about how hard it is to be in love with her. Mimi cracks a little, I think, and asks him "what if Eva isn't the woman you think she is?" How is that a good thing to say? He snaps a little - if she's betrayed me, I'll kill myself! Mimi says no, no, it's nothing like that - those are intimidades, the secrets of beautiful women.

Mimi tells Eva the whole thing. She sounds a little weary of this whole charade.

Aaaand here's Pluto. He and Helena enjoy their house where everything is wrapped in plastic. But she's not totally there with him. Second thoughts?

Anyway, catch you next week!

Thanks, Ezra. Friday's capitulo was so good this one has to be a little less so. But the farce continues. We got more Adriano in this one and he was funny with standing on a square and refusing to move until Eva shows... and then commanding Helena to do the same. It's a good distraction from the scenes with Silvia which are just so sad. And I enjoyed Santi coaching Lucia to stop being so spineless with Renato, who actually appeared to respond to it. I'd like to see these "lessons" continue.

Thank you Ezra, liked the title, lol. I too loved the Adri scene and Mimi is so funny with Adri. I liked the saying Mimi said about love to Adri, he was looking very panicked.

I too like the "lessons" that Santi is giving Lucia. Maybe now Lucia will mature again and be the woman she was in the beginning of this TN and not the basket case she is now.

I wish Silvia hsdn't gone back to Bastardo. I hate that she is crying again all the time. I liked when she was with Helena, all smiles and enjoying life. She isn't doing that right now.

Rebe and Pluti, she still wants to marry him? She did invest ten years of her life, but Pluti is so done with her. Can't wait to see how this goes on.

Thanks Ezra, this was kind of a fun episode I thought -- not so good as Friday's romp but funny nonetheless.

Adri was so funny -- the scenes you all already mentioned but also the physical comedy between Adri & Mimi, especially when she was trying to shove him out the door & he was trying to hold his ground on his cuadrito.

I have a different feeling about the Eduardo/Silvia scenes. The worm is turning -- though in a way that is too fast to be believable. When Eduardo went off on Silvia for leaving the shirts in the taxi he was behaving very normally. She had, in fact, just done something that caused him money, time and embarrassment. When they got home though he was very understanding -- and her explanation that she was distracted by the thought of the two of them having an outing alone together really seemed to touch him. So -- it's a bit sad that Silvia cried with pleasure over one "por favor" but that is a sign of Eduardo's slow awakening. I think that the melting of the iceberg of his heart will be real -- It's a plot device that the writer's have set up for us. In the phone conversation Silvia is arguing for the fact that a man with a history of heartlessness can change. I think that a softened Eduardo will prove to Helena that a macho womanizer like JC can change also.

I think we saw a preview of Fer's new career -- something he enjoys doing more than he ever enjoyed the GI job.

Claudia's rapt face betrayed her when she listened to Eugenia's monologue. And Eugenia was smart enough to realize that -- despite Claudia's snotty words. I'm enjoying watching these two interact. In the end I think they will be close.

Well, Sylvia going back to Ed has had one positive effect. Sylvia is the one who did the worst damage to Juan's chances with Helena, by pressuring her to accept Pluto, and by constantly pressuring Helena to forget about Juan because he's a dirty rotten shnook. Last night, as Sylvia went on and on about how a man can change, and someone who used to be rotten can turn into someone really wonderful, Helena was becoming more and more convinced - not about Ed, but about Juan.

Last night we saw three relationships that are getting closer to the breaking point: Santi & Angie, Renato & Lucia, Adriano & Eva.

Guera, we were posting simultaneously. Great minds think alike!

Thanks, Ezra.

It was nice to see Claudia start to act like a decent person. I agree; eventually she will be the daughter Eugenia told Eva she had always wanted.

I liked Santi and Lucia together, too. Not only does Lucia seem to be improving her pathetic behavior through Santi's coaching, she's making him think, too. After he confessed that Angie had cheated on him before they were married, and Lucia offered all the excuses she could think of and Santi shot them all down, she finally said, "So WHY did you marry her?!" Yes, good question. I don't think that marriage will last much longer.

I don't quite get the significance of Mimi's rock n roll cousin telling Helena that Juan is Eva's cousin. I remember him telling her something similar when she showed up at the pension before...remember the scene where Eva was holding a mans pants when she opened her door to Helena? Maybe this will have some significance later on....or not. It's a novella. My guess is that with putting out an episode every day, day after day, things get crazy, so in the end, there are inconsistencies. Is that an under statement? That was the premise of the wacky Will Farrell movie "casa de mi padres." Which, btw, I do not recommend unless you have a really sick sense of humor.

Yes, Guera! I have wondered and worried about Fernando and how his pride is ever going to allow him to straighten out. He seems incapable of learning from the other characters. But I'm hoping you're right and this cooking thing is a hint of him finding a new vocation he enjoys- which invariably turns anyone into a more happy and generous person. Maybe despite all his idiocy he'll avoid the dreaded anvil.

Julia, I agree about Santi. I don't think (anyone correct me?) that he has yet told anyone why he got married: "I woke up with a hangover and a ring."

Anon 2:29- The significance of the cousin/godson telling Helena that Eva's nephew Juan Carlos was just outside is that it's a HUGE coincidence that she knew HER Juan Carlos was also just outside. The first time Helena was told Eva had a nephew named JC, it struck her as being a interesting coincidence, but not so very unusual since the name Juan Carlos isn't unsual. But now there just happen to be TWO men named Juan Carlos hanging out in front of the same building at the same time...it raises some questions in one's mind.

Plus, at one point Helena came over to visit Eva and she was in an obvious state of undress, after Mimi's godson had said Eva's "nephew" JC was visiting her. That's when Eva made up the story that JC isn't really her nephew, but her sometimes lover. That's the other point Helena was arguing with Mimi's godson, saying that JC is NOT Eva's nephew. That's why all the confusion and Helena's curiosity about seeing this JC (Eva's nephew or lover, or que?).

Thanks for the recap! Vivi in D.C., thanks for reminding us about the Eva's cousin/lover? situation. I had forgotten all about it.

Thanks for the recap, Ezra!

I also thought Eduardo, after his initial meanness, was rather nice to Silvia. Paso a paso he is changing! And I agree, this is good news for the JC/Helena romance.

Santi and Lucia are great. Loved the scene where he was coaching her to be a bit less accessible.

Poor Adri. Trying to peek into the spa - that was funny. I'm dreading his finding out - hope he doesn't ever.

Hard to remember all these plotlines/twists/turns!

Hey Vivi, thanks for taking the time to explain the JC lover/cousin thing with Eva and Helena's curiosity.
