Amor Bravío #76 (Uni 71) Mon 12/3/12

Capitulo 76: Double Jeopardy

Lo del Pasado

Pablo talks to Padre Anselmo about Luzma.  Camila makes sure Daniel knows which pills he needs to take while he expresses jealousy over Mariano.  Alonssso bites his claws [¡Salud!] as he talks to El Diablo, who is attempting to turn him against Hissadora. “You are either with me or against me.”

Lo de Nuevo

La Malquerida, Parlour:  Ximeana demands that Francisco Javier tell her what moving in was supposed to be about. He tells her that it was to establish themselves there before taking formal possession. She tells him that Daniel wants them out. He agrees to this and asks her for some money to tide over his boredom and let him play a little and he will pay it back with interest. She tells him no way and gives her sperm donor unholy hell over his equally unholy alliance with Hissadora and his major shortcomings as a father. “Forget it, because I won't maintain you. Remember it's supposed to be the other way; parents are supposed to give money to their children. If you need – or want – money, ask Isadora. In the end she's the one you're working for.' She walks out on him, not wanting to hear another word. We can almost applaud her for this.

Alonssso's Bedroom:   The adopted komodo and the devil dance around each other to some minor key suspense leitmotifs.

Alonso:    No, no, no. I don't know if I can trust you.
Dionisio:    Alonso, I'm also taking a risk trusting you. We're in the same boat. I'm playing a risky game because Isadora is your mother and blood ties are strong.
Alonso:    Tell me something. Is there a way to make her look guilty? (musical crash)
Dionisio:    Leave that to me.
Alonso:    No, no, no; I'm not leaving anything to anyone. We work together or don't count on me.
Dionisio (looking out of the corner of his eye and with a short laugh that is both evil and charming):    I don't know what provoked this new attitude, but it pleases me. (demonic laugh) It's clear to me that without your mother you're a different person.
Alonso:    How do I demonstrate it for you? Do we start by accusing her of killing Padre Baldomero and cutting out Leoncio's tongue?
Dionisio:    No; there were no witnesses on the Padre, but Leoncio? Yes. One of my men will testify.
Alonso:    How do we testify? To what?
Dionisio:    You? Do you have the guts to testify against her?
Alonso (biting his claws [¡Salud!]):    If it's something I know, yes. But you have to be on my side, Dionsio.
Dionisio (smiling with all his perfect fangs):    Of course! But for now, the situation has to look like you just had a fit of temper. You must seem to be the same manipulable Alonso as ever.
Alonso:    That's going to be difficult, but if if I'm going to get the better her of and that's what I have to do that's what I'll do. (pauses as the violins get a little faster and he stops biting his claws) Dionisio, I want you to tell me the truth; I have to trust you. I've asked her the same question and she's always denied it. Are you and my mother lovers?
Dionisio:    No. (Alonso studies his face) A lover is someone you love, care for. Your mother is impossible to love. Have I been in bed with her? Yes. But that's another matter. Alonso, you can trust me. But say nothing. (Alonso begins biting his claws. [¡Salud!])

Study:  Francisco Javier finds Hissadora there looking through some books we can't quite identify. She doesn't even turn around to look at him until he asks for money, which gets her attention. He says he feels cooped up and bored. With a poorly concealed sigh she takes a few notes from her purse and tells him this will be the last time. “If you want more, work!” “But isn't this because I'm working for you? A little more, please!” Annoyed, she gives him a little more. As he exits she turns back to the bookshelf with an expression of disgust, handles a few books before taking down the twin ancient volumes from the shelf that's just at her eye level. When she hefts them she senses that something isn't right, so she shakes it and we hear something move inside.

Dinero? La joyas de familia? She puts it on the desk and pries it open to find photos of a younger Don Daniel and (we think) the young Ágatha. We then hear Augustina's voice from outside calling for her most errant spouse, so Hissadora closes the book and picks up the phone receiver. She pretends to be talking to someone as Augustina enters telling her she has no right to be there. She claims she was there looking for something to read and she was talking to the insurance company for her property and casualty payout. Augustina tells her that's good because with that money she can buy something and leave. Until Ximeana marries Alonssso, she is a nuisance there. [estorbo] Hissadora parries with the comment that Ximeana wouldn't want Alonssso to be unhappy, which he will be separated from his Mommie. [Ah, Mommie Direst, we can't wait for you to know the true lay of the land!] Augustina tells her to leave for the sake of their dignity. Hissadora simply takes the “book” and leaves. Augustina breathes a sigh of relief.

Hospital, Prison Ward:    Pablo looks through the one-way window along with Comandante Juarez and confirms that this was the man who shot him and Andres. He asks whether he can talk to him and Juarez permits it. He is allowed to enter alone and proceeds to rip Leoncerdo a new one, telling him that he is finally where he belongs and his plan has failed because Andres lives and he [Pablo] and Luzma will be happy despite what he did to each of them. They will be married and have a happy life while he spends the rest of his days in prison. With animal sounds coming through the gauze on his mouth, Leoncerdo tries to get up to attack him, but the nurse uses her best weapon – the syringe – by injecting something into his IV. He quickly goes limp.  [We wish Mexico had capital punishment for this dirtbag.]

Viviana's Apartment:   She returns with groceries to the two guys [Shouldn't someone be protecting her from Bruno and El Diablo?] and they talk about making a pasta dinner. They talk about Aaron returning to his community. Viviana says she will miss him and that she and Camila are on the outs at the moment. Rafael looks into his computer and sees that the most recent chapter of his novel is missing. As he tries to figure this out we see that there is a hidden camera and Bruno watching from his own computer while remembering the night he sneaked into the apartment to install it in a picture frame. He laughs. [Rafael needs to start looking around the apartment for more of those, especially in the bedroom and bathroom.]

Alonssso's Bedroom:    Ximeana is understandably nervous at being under the same roof with Mama Komodo, whom she knows is extremely dangerous. Alonssso tells her not to worry; they'll be going soon. He's going to get Camila to help them. Ximeana doesn't believe this is possible. Alonssso says that Camila is a noble woman who will do the right thing. She needs to find out certain things. “I am much more intelligent than my mother,” says he. Ximeana looks nervous. Perhaps she knows that we are not convinced of his statement.

Aculco Pet Shop:  Ana is ecstatic as she holds several adorable puppies, including a baby St Bernard and a very affectionate dachshund. She wants two, but Camila reminds here she's there to choose one. A companion for life. Camila herself is holding a cute furbaby and as she pets and kisses the little darling she remembers the first time she saw Maja playing in the river with Daniel. [Camila, you know dogs are excellent judges of human character, don't you?] Ana asks her why she's sad because her eyes became sad. She looks her in the eye and playfully denies being sad. Finally a store employee hands Ana a puppy that looks very Golden Lab and Ana's in love. As she walks off with her new baby Mariano thanks Camila for sharing that experience with them. She thanks him back, holding up the smallest puppy to face him. It's a real little sweetheart, like a baby Maja.

Cabaña, Bedroom:   Daniel is half dressed, his bandage more like a cummerbund under his splendid pecs. He's impatient, thinking about Pablo's visit in the hospital where Pablo said that he hoped Camila would be Mariano's lady. He starts pacing around, asking himself what he must do to get Camila to forgive him. There is a knock as Alonssso enters, calling for Camila. Daniel hides in the  bathroom. Alonssso enters the bedroom and sees an unmade but empty bed, then exits, but returns as Daniel reenters. He gets nasty with Daniel (whose true identity he does not yet know), demanding to know what he was doing there in his wife's bed. Daniel reminds him that Camila is no longer his wife and besides, what about him and Ximeana? Alonssso responds that he will do whatever he wishes. He further orders Daniel to leave before he calls the police. He has his cell phone out. Daniel advances on him, and Alonssso taunts him, or thinks he does. He's still under the impression that “Andres” is a spy. Daniel grabs him by the shirtfront and tells him “I am nobody's spy. I own this place. I am Daniel Diaz Acosta.” The two stare each other in the eye with Alonssso having to look well over his head while the violins go staccato.

Hissadora's Room:   She looks at the picture of Don Daniel, wondering who the woman is. She correctly guesses that Don Daniel was quite the player in his youth. “I suppose there might be children, like with the Chilena,” she says as someone knocks. She hurriedly hides the photo back in the fake book as El Diablo cracks the door open, requesting permission to enter. She has some books with a lot of photos in front of her as she invites him in. He closes the door carefully, saying that Alonssso is in their back pocket. He points out that Alonssso is a neurotic; he has his fits of temper but nothing to worry about. She thanks him. “I am here to serve you” he says, and proceeds to. With our usual good taste and decorum we shall spare you the details that follow.

Cabaña, Bedroom:   Alonssso isn't ready to believe this. He refers to the photograph and is told “That is someone who is passing for me.” There is almost a physical altercation and Alonssso makes another threat, but Daniel picks up his copy of the recording of Aaron and El Diablo and plays it back for him. Alonso begins biting his claws again. [¡Salud!] It isn't his voice on the recording, but Daniel tells him that he was impersonated for the meeting with El Diablo. Alonssso looks for a moment as though his head will explode, but asks whether Camila knows who he really is. “She does.” “And how did she react to your treason?” “That's between her and me. Now whose side are you on? Theirs or mine?” “One condition,” he says. “That when it's all over I'm relieved of all responsibility for this.” [We rather expected that request.]

La Malquerida, Courtyard:   Mariano and Ana drive Camila back home and there is a cute moment with Muñeca, the new puppy. She turns down an invitation to La Buenaventura because she has things to do. As she bids farewell to the Albarráns, she turns toward the cabaña.

Cabaña, Bedroom: Alonssso tries to play the victim, but Daniel reminds him that Hissadora and El Diablo will also make that claim.

Alonso:  Therefore, Daniel, I suppose you think I should believe you.
Daniel:    That is my name, and you will have to get used to it.
Alonso:    I'm nothing more than a victim, same as you.
Daniel:    Dionisio says the same and so certainly will your mother. Only the stain of cowardice denies responsibility.
Alonso:    You're wrong about me. I will tell Camila the whole truth. Dionisio made me do it in a way that if the property isn't turned into a tourist attraction the only person who goes to prison is me.
Daniel:    You can't hand over these lands because they don't belong to you!
Alonso:    I know, I know! If you want me to help, I can get you proof about Dionisio.
Daniel:    And your mother.
Alonso:    Yes, Isadora, and I will do it. But I need you to help me. It's got to be in a way that I won't go to prison.
Daniel (intruding on his space):    You will not only go to prison for what you are trying to do to La Malquerida but for the murder of Padre Baldomero.
Alonso:   I didn't kill Padre Baldomero. That was my mother and Leoncio. I am not a killer!
Daniel:    But you gave Leoncio his orders!
Alonso:    Yes, but I am not a killer; it was my mother! I swear that's how it was.
Daniel:    Your mother?
Alonso:    Yes. Isadora.
Daniel:    Isadora? Or your mother?
Alonso:    Isadora. If didn't want to put the guilt on her I wouldn't have anything to do with her. If anyone is guilty it's Isadora and Dionisio.
Daniel:    That's going to depend on the proof you give me. Because of what you told me you're in my hands now. [???]
Alonso:    We are. I'll bring you the proof you need.
Daniel:    Deeds. Not words. (slaps his face, like an authority figure giving a command) Deeds.

The music ratchets up a discordant minor key note that sounds like a howling wind.

La Malquerida, Courtyard:    Camila exchanges a few words with Eluterio, then with Ximeana, who implies that there is something between Camila and Mariano. Camila informs her that this presumption is in poor taste but Ximeana won't shut up as they walk up the long staircase to the terrace. She goes on about how perfect Mariano is for her because he loves the ranch life and what good neighbors they will be when Daniel gets things straightened out. Alonso will be the administrator, etc. Camila observes that it is rather odd that Ximeana has apparently changed her mind about living there; she previously had objected to the idea when Camila first went to live there and now that the circumstances are what they are... Ximeana talks about how when Daniel arrives and takes care of things they will get on better. Camila isn't buying any of this and reminds Ximeana about her indiscretion with Alonso. She knows her sister well. “Are you really in love or are you just trying to annoy me?” Ximeana shows her the engagement ring. Camila says she's pleased to see her happy but doesn't think she will be; she warns her that Alonso has major emotional problems he won't resolve and she doesn't think Ximeana is a woman who can deal with that. True to form, Ximeana plays the impotence card as if to prove that Alonssso's equipment now functions with her and “I hope you'll come to our wedding.” Camila exits stonefaced and Ximeana smirks. No sympathy for Bratgirl Sr. from the flies on the wall.

Cabaña:  This confrontation is still not over.

Alonso:    I will do whatever you want.
Daniel:    You'd better. And I have spies all over who will keep me informed. Are we agreed?
Alonso:    We are.
Daniel:    One more thing. You will not open your mouth. Not a word to anyone about who I really am. “Anyone” includes Ximena.
Alonso:    Ximena is your sister.
Daniel:    That is my problem.
Alonso:    You are capable of abandoning your own blood?
Daniel:    Ximena is also Camila's blood but that is no impediment to putting the two of you off the land.
Alonso:    Camila deceived me. I'm going to prove to you that Camila is just like Ximena and Camila always was the love of my life.
Daniel:    Don't pretend you can prove any such thing to me.
Alonso:    Well, believe it. I'm no Superman but I love her.
Daniel (shoving him back into the bookcase):     You love her? So why did you try to become her widower? Desgraciado!
Alonso:    Don't judge me!
Daniel:    I have never hurt her!
Alonso (reaches for a weapon):    What did you do when she was in love with you? [He has some bloody nerve using the familiar form] Did you suppose she had another? What hurts more? What you did or I did? I at least apologised to her because my mother made me do it. The woman hates you. My only sin was obeying Isadora. I swear.

The two stare at each other.

Study:    El Diablo sits at the desk looking at some documents. Augustina comes in and asks why they don't go out anymore. Since coming back from Las Vegas they haven't gone out even to eat.   To get her to callarse he agrees to take her out to a restaurant but says they will have to return early because he has things to do. She excuses herself to get her purse. He absolutely does not want to do this while she has obviously backslid from how she felt when talking to Padre Anselmo.

La Buenaventura, Parlour:    Señora Snob with her antiquated and controlling attitude reproaches Mariano for taking Ana out with Camila, “a married woman.” He points out that Camila is divorced and therefore free. Nonetheless, his metiche mama is not pleased that this could be misinterpreted by Ana, who might be seeing Camila as a role model, an ideal, and a future stepmother. He concedes her point, but tells her he is not encouraging Ana to dream about this because there has been nothing but friendship... so far. He would like for it to be more and if that is the case he intends to marry Camila. Punto. Señora Snob doesn't like this at all.

La Malquerida, Kitchen:   Dorotea is cooking as a ranch hand in very clean clothes comes in to flirt with her. She's not really in the mood and is relieved when Camila enters to give instructions for dinner that is to be brought to the cabaña.

Hostal de Amanda:   Rodolfo asks for Natalia, only to be told she is out with friends. [We already know she is actually out with Yago.] Osvaldo enters and is invited to stay. Amanda tries to tell Rodolfo that Natalia is just not that into him and it's better that he forget her. He seems to take it well and excuses himself, leaving Amanda to lament the beautiful nietos she won't have any day soon.

Park:   Natalia is picnicking with Yago, who is trying to get amorous. Their song plays in the background. She admits she is in love with him, but is he with her? He seems to overstate his case. The plaid of his shirt clashes with the dots on her dress as they kiss and discreetly disappear below the camera lens.

Hostal de Amanda:  Osvaldo and Amanda talk about Natalia, whom Amanda thinks isn't currently interested in having a relationship. Osvaldo isn't so certain of that as he saw her face at the sight of Yago Albarrán at the hospital. Amanda doesn't like this because of Yago's reputation. Amanda vows to talk to her about a lot of things. He then changes the subject and tells her that Salomon has disappeared, nobody knows where to.

Street:  El Diablo slams on the brakes to check his cell phone, which bothers Augustina. However, she is quickly distracted at the sight of Amanda and Becerra. She comments on what a good person Amanda is. El Diablo asks her who Amanda is and she says that she is Natalia's mother and she owns the hostal. El Diablo looks up and we see his fear reflected in his rear-view mirror.

Comments:
"Double Jeopardy, where the moves go faster and the scores can really change..." Don't know about the rest of you but I think Alonssso is in over his head.

UA - thanks for recap and Alonso is definitely over his head. I loved Dan's counter move of playing the tape where Dio blamed everything on Al. That was great! But Al is too fragile and all this plotting and back-stabing will break him.

I am really concerned for Amanda. What will Dio do? I hope he does not harm her or Natalia.

What I enjoy about this plot is even though Cam and Dan are at an impasse, everything else is moving forward quickly. The Justice League needs to realize they are being spied on. Our fear is that Dan, once recovered, will visit and the gig may be up. Hopefully Rafa will bring his computer to Dan who will realize what is up but will Bruno get info about Dan?

I am predicting the picture Isadora found to be Senora Snob.

Thanks for the quick and witty recap.

Cindy

PS: Would someone PLEASE kill Bruno?

Urban- Thanks for the great reap and the cute pictures of the puppies. They were so adorable! A perfect little outing for heartbreak. And of course, it lead to some pretty good memories of Dan frolicking half naked with Maja in the lake. Yay!

The plot thickens even more! Great move by Dan playing that tape for Al, just after he thought he could count on Dio to help him take Isa down. But Al is even worse at hiding his feelings than Cami. How will he be able to pull off being a triple agent?

But two bad turn of events for the good guys-- Bruno putting camera's in Vivi's place, and Dio discovering Amanda. I fear for Amanda.

Before Mariano commences on his seduction of Camila, I'm gonna need him to stop wearing that ombre chambray shirt.

For the First time I am Super worried for the Velma, Fred & Shaggy = Vivi, Rafa & Aaron Gang now that "Mix-yiz-pittle-ick" = Bruno is eavesdropping from his cave of Mischief.

Oh Noooo!

Bruno is dangerous without being employed by Dionisio; he would probably have done this anyway in his stalking of Viviana.

Whether Bruno finds out anything or not, I don't think Alonssso will be able to keep his trap shut for long. Hissadora knows all his triggers and will probably get it out of him sooner or later.

Ximeana isn't intelligent enough to do this because she hasn't yet figured out that Alonssso doesn't have half the money she thinks he does.

Urban, great recap,

I loved the Ana, Camilla, Mariano outing in the pet store!

I just love any sceen with Maja, that dog is totally steals the screen!
After a long and grueling search I finally found out, wht type of dog Maja is... in case anybody interested I share:

Great Pyrenees

why can1t I post the pic??

Anon- You can't post pics in the comments, but you can post a link to the pics. Urban also sent us a link to pics of Great Pyranese on this weekend's recap. Take a look. You might be trying to share the same link.

Thanks for the great recap, Urban A. I agree Alonso could be in over his head, but I love seeing him furious with ex-Mommie Dearest.

As for being able to hide his feelings, yes, Vivi, he's probably worse than Camila. Now, if he could just do it this one time....

Love the pictures too. I thought also the woman was Senora Snob.

Bruno is everything I hate in a man. Now that Tio Slimeball is out of commission, Bruno needs to go and muy rapido!

Another great recap, UA. I love your Miss-Manners-like remarks, such as "they kiss and discreetly disappear below the camera lens." I also enjoy your delightfully understated observations, such as "Ximeana looks nervous. Perhaps she knows that we are not convinced of his statement" and "No sympathy for Bratgirl Sr. from the flies on the wall."

I suspect that I may have missed some key passages last night, since I kept switching back and forth between the TN and the football game between the Redskins and the Giants (way to go, Skins!). Did Alonso explain what he'd learned about his parentage to Daniel? If not, why did Daniel ask him (I'm quoting from your recap) "Isadora? Or your mother?"

Probably because my attention was so split last night, I don't recall whether Bruno's bugging included sound as well as video. I don't remember any sound, but I could be wrong. Without sound, Bruno may not get as much truly damaging info (e.g., about D'Andres's identity or Team Good Guys' plans).

I can understand why Daniel is trying to convert Alonso to the side of the Good Guys, but like some other commenters, I have no confidence in Alonso's ability to fool Isadora or Dionisio.

The photo that Isadora found in the "book" puzzles me. I like Cindy's idea that the woman is Señora Snob, but I'm not sure I agree. She was married when she was carrying on with Don Dan, and I can't imagine that she'd want something as permanent and incriminating as a photo of the two of them.

Am I the only one who isn't charmed by the young girl who plays Mariano's daughter?

Thus far Daniel doesn't know that Hissadora is only Alonssso's stepmother. Alonssso hasn't shared that with anyone yet, which might have been the smartest thing he's done so far.

I was personally amused at the sight of skinnybones Alonssso threatening the shirtless he-man Daniel. I guess he will ultimately brood on how this hunkahunka burnin' love gave Camila what he couldn't.

Juanita- I think Dan was perplexed by how Al kept calling her Isadora, instead of consistantly saying "my mother". And he said her name with such contempt each time he said it. But, no, Al did not share what he had learned about his birth.

No, I don't think Bruno has sound with those cameras. He can just watch them.

I'm also fairly sure he didn't stop to read Rafael's book. Whether he copied the files and will read them later is another possibility.

Vivi, thanks for your answers about the Isadora/your mother issue and about whether Bruno's bugging includes sound. I'm glad to know that my constant channel shifting last night didn't result in my missing vital pieces of info.

Oops, sorry Vivi. For some reason I wasn't asked to identify myself and was thus simply "Unknown." I was the one who thanked you for the info.

Puppies! And that's it for the happy news.

Thanks for the quick recap. It was hard to pay attention to the Alonso-D'Andres scene with D'a walking around all shirtless. It's like everyone is on a rubik's cube square and every time the cube rotates, the team changes. Alonso might be a team member to have as long as he keeps his mouth shut around Ximena. Don't think she could look at the long-run plan and keep quiet. She's more about "how to piss off Camila right now".

Here is what I wish for Camila for Xmas: earplugs that block out her mother and sister, and a good deadbolt on that cabana.

Side note. I was also glad to see this recap up quickly since the Univision channel on my antenna has suddenly changed to Telefutura. I used to get both channels and I can't figure out what's going on. I need those Spanish subtitles on the tv! Has anyone had this problem? Does anyone else even have an antenna? I may need to whine at Univision. I need my stories!

Kelly

Of course it has to be clueless, hapless Gussie who outs Amanda and Natalia to Dio.

Thanks, UA, great recap as usual. Although always captivated by Daniel/Andres, I was "charmed" just as you were by Dio. I was impressed with both actors during the scene with Alonso and Dio. Dio does not over-act or give us the usual "bad-guy" face and posturing, he is just brilliant in his role as the cunning, charming, scoundrel.

Yola

UA: Great recap. Thanks for all the pics.

Pablo telling Leo he lost. Immensely satifying.

Bruno’s end can’t come too soon for me.

Loved the little byplay Cam did with that teeny tiny completely adorable I really would love to have it puppy. And the scene with little Muñeca. SN is seriously one of the best actors ever. I love all her little bits of business—which I’m sure is all hers and not the writers’ or director.

I think Al is ashamed/embarrassed that Isa isn’t his mother and he’s a “bastard” and that’s why he’s keeping in quiet.

I hope Iago has some feelings for Natalia, otherwise his seduction of her is completely skunky.

Nanette

Yago isn't completely skanky; he soundly disapproves of Ileana's nastiness. However, he needs a lesson or two because moving as fast as he did with Natalia wasn't right.

Someone commented early on that Sylvia Navarro is a major animal lover, so the pet shop scene was a natural for her. I want to see more animals in novelas. Horses like Capriccio (FELS) and dogs like Maja. When will somebody finally have a cat?

Gussie has no clue about El Diablo's past with Amanda and in that pueblo chico it would have been impossible for Amanda to avoid him forever. She doesn't even know what the man's real name is.

The problem is that until Camila and Daniel have solid proof of his activities it will be impossible to get her to understand what a colossal mistake she made marrying him. And under the heading of All Things Considered, the proof might not do the job.

UA: Definiitely, It was just a matter of time before Dio saw Amanda. I just thought it was kind of funny that Gus was the inadvertent cause of Dio seeing Amanda for the first time.

I like Natalia with Rodolfo, but if Iago is developing sincere feelings for her then I'd be on board for that.

Thanks for the great recap UA! It was up so fast!! Thanks so much!

I agree with others about the stark physical difference in appearance between Alsonso and Daniel. I for one LOVED the scene with Daniel/Andres standing with the tape recorder and playing Dionisio's voice for Alonso. (He looked good y'all!!!!!!) CdlF's facial expressions were just great!! Scene-stealer IMHO!

Dan was definitely using his size to intimidate Al during those scenes. And that "good doggy" slap across the face was just the punctuation mark for that.

I'm sure that went over like a lead balloon with the little man with a little problem he didn't want to discuss with a shrink.

Finally, I had a chance to watch. But I did read the recap first, which I try not to do, but UA's recaps are so good that I couldn't resist. That, and I'm in Amor Bravio withdrawals that I can't wait.

I agree with you UA, Al is in over his head. He now has 3 people to placate, and I don't think he's smart enough to pull if off.

I think when Dan and Al were talking, that when Al kept saying Isadora instead of my mother, it caught Dan's attention and that's why he said, Isadora or your mother? Dan will probably tell Viv and Rafa his suspicions about that.

Bruno probably took the chapter from the computer only to let them know that Bruno was there. But since Dan is also a computer guy, maybe Dan can do something about Bruno and protect them from him somehow.

The picture? The woman may have been Dan's mother. Don't think it was Rocio because of what Juanita said. She probably didn't get her picture taken when she's cheating on her husband with him.
After typing that, now I wonder if it is Rocio, and Isa will use that info for bribery or something nefarious.

So not-smooth move Yago is getting poor Naive Natalia drunk, it almost looked like they were on their way to doing the dirty right there in the park. That should make for a nice bribing photo by Ileana.

I could not make out the avances this time. But it did have me worried.

Thank you for the recap! So an unlikely alliance has formed. This should be interesting.

I can't tell whether it's a good or bad thing that Al hasn't told anyone about Izzy not being his biological mother. He seems to almost be given subtle hints and making people suspicious, especially when he refers to her by her name not "Mom".

Things don't look good for Amanda with trying to keep the secret about Dio being Nat's real father. Dio is not stupid so I'm sure he's gonna work out a plan to get closer to Nat.

So I'm guessing that the woman in the picture that Izzy found with Dan Sr was Ms "I want my son to find a woman of his status" Rocio.
I wonder what Izzy will do if she finds out that the woman is Rocio. Try to seduce Cayetano, maybe?

Alonssso is just being cautious with that information. He has probably concluded that Hissadora's power over him can be broken if he plays his cards right. The only thing is, he can't see the other players' hands.

UA - Thanks. Great recap and pics.

Cathyx: "But since Dan is also a computer guy, maybe Dan can do something about Bruno and protect them from him somehow." I forgot Dan was a computer geek. Hope you're right.

UA: Question re: "Alonssso is just being cautious with that information. He has probably concluded that Hissadora's power over him can be broken if he plays his cards right. "

Do you think he's that smart?

Only for the moment. I don't think he's thought it through completely. I also think he is a poor chess player and not capable of thinking six moves ahead. That -- along with his stupid emotional reactions -- is what will trip him up.

UA, I luuuvv the colors on that fan and luuuvvv the pics of the pooches. I am doggie lover, so it is much appreciated. Sadly, I am very allergic to cats although I owned one once. Thanks for all the work on that recap.

To all the CdelaF admirers, I can sure understand your sentiments. Can you imagine how
Al (Flavio Medina) felt looking at the scene clips where Dan is towering over him looking pretty fit etc?

Someone asked about Ana earlier or today and wasn't crazy about the child actor. I don't think she's the greatest little actress in the world, but most aren't-- I think she's doing a good job. It's hard to be cute when you're a pre-teen actor (11-12). People just don't see kids this age as cute. I'm just grateful that they aren't writing her as a brat, which is usually the way pre-teen girls are written. If this were cliche, she would be jealous of any woman her widower father was interested in. I'm just glad she's a sweet kid with a good head on her shoulders.

I am, too. No reasonable woman who would fall in love with Mariano could object to having a stepdaughter like Ana.

Thanks UA for another of your always enjoyable and detailed recaps. I have one question, during the conversation between Daniel and Alonso you said “[He has some bloody nerve using the familiar form]”. Why shouldn't they use familiar terms with each other?

After reminding Daniel the Xi is his sister, Alonso’s comment to Daniel “You are capable of abandoning your own blood?” must have sounded strange to Daniel who is not aware that Isa is not Al’s blood relative:-)

Unless I’ve missed something, that scene with the ranch hand flirting with Dorotea seemed a bit isolated from any of the plots in progress.

Juanita, no you are not the only one who is not charmed by Mariano’s charming daughter.

Please excuse any typos.

The flirtatious ranch hand is not in step with the rest, unless this is meant to be the beginning of a new plotline.

Daniel is the owner and Alonssso is a dismissed employee. In my opinion he does not have the right to get familiar with Daniel when his entire energies thus far have been to steal the property out from under him and Camila.

The flirtatious ranch hand was Eleuterio. As he's part of the main staff that's always in the house, it makes sense to me that he and Dorotea may be pairing up. Natalia, Luzma, and Rodolofo are already involved in their own love issues. Eleuterio and Dorotea are the only ones left, other than Piedad, who aren't having love issues. Even Piedad sort of is having love issues, as she comes to terms with the fact that her one true love may not have abandoned her, and tries to find out the truth.

Vivi, I thought it came out that Leon killed Luzma's dad. Hard to remember though.

I wish Spanish would give up the formality of Usted. I don't like the classism.

I think most languages have that distinction; English is the anomaly for not having it.

Way late to the party. Probably no one will even see this. That's fine since I'm on my 2nd big glass of wine waiting for my Birthday Boy husband to get home from work so we can eat the Mexican food I made for dinner, and more importantly the chocolate birthday cake with egg nog ice cream (slow churned so half the fat).

I loved the recap. I fell asleep halfway through (left for work at 4:45 a.m. today), but am anxious to watch a double episode tomorrow.

Drats. I had a funny comment, but the wine induced waiting has stolen it from me. Just as well. Most of you are already watching tonight's episode. I am living in the past. I need some food in my stomach.

Thanks again, UA!

Cathyx- They only suspect Leo killed Luzma's dad, but they don't have proof yet. Piedad has mentioned going North herself to find out what happened. The audience knows the truth because we saw Leo's memories of the murder.

Yesterday someone said that the Great Pyrenees (Maja's breed) are herding dogs--they're not. They're livestock guardian dogs (LGDs). Herding dogs live with their handlers or in the barn, but working LGDs are raised out with the livestock so that they bond with them. Rather than following commands and moving the stock they hang out with them all day and night and watch for danger.

And on a completely different note, Mariano's two-tone shirt seems to have come from the same decade as his haircut. And I love SN's shirt today. In the same style as most of her shirts, but a simpler plaid and particularly long and well-fitting. I want her shirt. (Of course, the wardrobe choices I most approve of for this and recent episodes are the ones for Daniel.)

Which makes me wonder whether Leoncerdo ever sexually abused Piedad.

Rosemary, since your icecream is half the fat, then you can have twice as much. And maybe if you have another glass of wine, you'll remember your funny comment.

Yes, cathyx, 2 bowls of ice cream (one for each piece of cake). I heard cake and ice cream help one remember funny comments.

I was hoping she'd take the dachshund. He was sooooo cute!

Thank you all for your recaps. My Spanish is only "un poquito". I love this TN as much as I did Manana para es siempre, for its complicated characters and story line. Silvia Navarro is a terrific
actress and I really like her in this. All the actors, in fact, are quite good. I look forward to each episode with high anticipation. Does anyone know when Porque al amor manda will be televised in the L.A. area? Isabella de Mayo in Costa Mesa
