Por ella soy Eva #97 12/4/12: Rebecca is Like a Bad Penny

I must have missed the very beginning. Helena and Eva come into the "Office of Exploded Good'n'Plenty" to find Rebeca is not fired! She tells them Adri and Pluto begged her on bended knees not to leave, and why? Because her work is invaluable. And she is a victim, blameless. And she's happy to be back embittering their lives.

Santi comes to Fer's home. Fer, fired, is wearing his baby bib. Santi returns the money he borrowed ("you'll need it more than I do") and Fer says the lesson he's learned is: never trust a woman. Everything bad that's happened to poor him is their fault! Santi has adopted a less cro-magnon stance on women. Fer: "Your wife is probably deceiving you again, that's life."

Meanwhile, Marcela sadly decides she has to return her new car, now that Fer's fired they can't afford it.

Helena tells Pluto she doesn't think Rebeca should still have her job; he says it turns out it was all Fern's fault. Same story when Eva goes to see HER boyfriend Adri: he says the brilliant evil mastermind Fern seduced and used Rebeca to rob the company. "No, Adri, that burro doesn't have the brains for something so baroque." Adri yells that the decision is final. Eva calls him Satan and leaves.

Helena thinks about Juan's accusations against Pluto. Pluto comes in. The phone rings, it's Juan. Helena won't pick up. Pluto is suspicious. Helena lies and says it was her mother. The phone rings again - Pluto says, answer. She does. It's Juan again, he says they have to meet. She stammers out another lie to Pluto. He does not believe it. She calls Juan; he begs to see her. She refuses.

Rebe cries piteously to Adri: she doesn't want to lose her job, she did it because she lost her heart to Fer. She is fully reinstated.

Announcement from Adri to all: Fer is not working here now, but no gossip about that is allowed. And, from now on Renato is officially the President's Assistant.

"I have nothing to say to the wife of a thief," says Rebe when Marcela is astonished to see her. Marcela and Eva agree Fer was too much of a moron to plan this. Marcela remembers Juan dragging her moron husband into stupid activities when he should have been doing his homework. "I loved Juan but he was a bad influence."

Fer looks at job ads, finds one to his liking, goes back to watching tv, then later goes (without making an appointment) to the place offering the position. He's in the process of being, as usual, a macho imbecile when the woman says she can't hire him, she knows he was fired from GI.

I can't bear to watch Lucia drool and nag over Renato, who would rather hang with Santi, who suggests to L. that she not hang all over the scarfed one.

Eugenia suggests music school to Claudia. Claudia says she doesn't care. Eugenia says, that's the problem with today's youth, so indifferent to everything. Claudia is poisonously sarcastic when Eugenia says we have to struggle towards our dreams, sometimes winning, sometimes losing.

Onesimo puts his feet up at Rebe's office and says she owes him big time, he talked Pluto into not firing her, and last time he saved her when she poisoned Helena, and there was a time before that (I forget what). He expects a fine reward. She covers her breasts before his lustful gaze and after he leaves she bothers the Virgin, begging: "Don't make me give my favors to a naco."

Helena, finding Pluto out of his office, sits at his computer... and he comes in and finds her there!

Oh, Melinama, wonderful, wonderful recap. I think in the beginning of the epi, Helena caught Pluti on the phone with his crooked henchman Sr Mendoza, the one that helped him convince Adri that JC took that money, by setting up that fake bank account in Helena's name. I'm not sure how much Helena heard, but she sure was suspicious.

I want Pluti caught already. He gets away with far too much, but now that Helena has seen part of the file, maybe she will now help JC to discover that Pluti was behind it all.

I had to laugh at Rebe covering up her charms, lol when Onesimo was in the room. I wonder if she will give her charms to Onesimo. Hate how Rebe outted why Adri got rid of Fern, when Adri said no gossip.

It is going to be a very long road for Fern with Marcela and getting a new job. He has got to lose the macho attitude and grow up already. Marcela is so mad at him. He needs to make amends.

How will Eva and Helena prove Fern was so not behind this fraud? That may take some time. Adri is really dumb right now too. He needs to put a oversight in so it will stop Pluti in his tracks. Otherwise, Pluti will rob every centavo from the company.

I meant the bank account in Eugenia's name, not Helena.

Oh, forgot to mention loved the "the office of exploded good and plenty", lol

What the heck were the writers thinking having Helena snoop into Pluty's or *anyone's* computadora!
That is so unlike Helena and way,way out of character. Surely Helena knows that in novellas the protagonistas are not good at playing dirty. I maintain that there is a difference between playing dirty and playing street-smart . And street-smarts is what Helena needs.

I'm happy, however, that she is starting to question Pluty's character.

Thank you for the recap. My favorite scenes tonight were those between Adriano y Eva. I have never heard it called the "cuchi cuchi y todo" so that was a new one for me. Oneisimo was his own little puppet master with getting Rebecca rehired and reminding Rebeca what she owed him and how he expected to be paid. It looks like the "naco" is not as stupid as Plutarco and Rebeca would like to think he is.

"She covers her breasts before his lustful gaze and after he leaves she bothers the Virgin, begging: "Don't make me give my favors to a naco." omg, you're too funny, Melinama. "And she's happy to be back embittering their lives." Yes, indeed. They don't give Rebeca enough airtime. She's much less subtle than Plutarco.

I am loving all the faces that Adriano makes. He really is a big pussycat. He's very funny. Those were a lot of names that Eva called him.

Melinama - Thanks for the details. Missed it last night.

Fer should be flattered that Adriano thinks he's capable of masterminding anything.

Thanks, Melinama!

Onesimo was truly creepy. I'm thinking all his actions so far have been less to do with loyalty than lust for Rebe. A perfect anvil for her.

Adri is my favorite character to watch. I loved the "yo soy bueno" with the goofy look after he was so nice to Rebe. Unfortunately, he hasn't figured out when he needs to be mean.

Also loved the "office of exploded good n plenty"!

And, loved Santi, hated Fern. Ugh.

"Fer should be flattered that Adriano thinks he's capable of masterminding anything."

Amen Niecie! The man couldn't find his way out of a paper bag.

It was funny watching Rebe be so horrified at being ogled by Onesimo. Yeah, he was not hiding his lust at all last night. I wonder if he would ever dare to make Rebe "pay up?" And would he also dare to make Pluti pay up (literally) for his services to him?

Melinama, thanks for the excellent recap and thanks to Ezra for yesterday's recap.

Love Onesimo, tired of Lucia and Fernando. I trust Fern has a learning/redemption arc to come, but please bring it on.

Rebe has been so free with her favors in the past--it was funny seeing her covering up in horror at Onesimo's eyeballing.

Helena caught snooping on Pluti's 'puter? Ruh-roh. The good thing is the conflict to come with our "happy" couple.

La Paloma

Agreed Madelaine, Pluty is going to rob every centavo from the company if Adri doesn't grow up and get smart. Eva and Helena can only do so much.

As long as Adri still sees Pluty as family it will be an uphill battle for the good guys. I think Eva will need to keep using her feminine assets on Adri to show him Plutys faults. ...and Helena needs to start looking between the lines on her project. Compare figures from accounting vs Pluty's. Surely there are going to be some discrepancies showing up soon!

Thank you for the recap. I love your writing style.
I'm glad that I had a chance to comment before tonight's episode, yes Rebeca and her animal print were bothering the Virgen.

Thank you, Melinama.

Renato standing next to Adriano; the look like father and son.

Thanks, Melinama. I missed most of this. :( But I'm glad that most of what I missed was more of the usual.

Kinda funny, Marcela didn't buy Rebeca's story about Fernando seducing her and masterminding the theft. No one knows better than Marcela, that guy couldn't mastermind a coffee break!

Thanks friends. I didn't invent the good'n'plenty gag, somebody else did. And as far as people getting what's coming to them, that's one of the great weaknesses of many telenovelas - they just have the bad guys winning and winning until the last moment.
