Amor Bravío #82 (Uni 77) Tue 12/11/12 Caperucita Roja Returns!

Camila’s Cabin
Cam arrives to find her bedroom strewn with sunflowers.  “Ay Daniel!”  She looks to the heavens and asks what is she to do now.  Is this the sign she was asking for?  She wonders why it is that she is unable to  forgive?  Is it ego?  Or is it pride?  Or is it true that she isn’t able to forgive from the heart.  She asks God what is happening to her.  She looks at the flowers again and can’t suppress a smile.

Osvaldo’s and Amanda’s (Osvanda?) Date Night
They’re at a restaurant and Osvaldo asks if she enjoyed the dinner.  He wanted her to enjoy herself but also wanted to tell her something.  She talks about how she enjoys their friendship.  That’s just the problem, he says.  All this time, he thought he was in love with Agustina.  But that’s no longer true.  He now has eyes for someone else, and that’s Amanda.  He wants to have a serious relationship with her.  He would like to take care of her and Natalia.  She’s the woman he’d like to spend the rest of his life with her.  Whoa!  He reaches over and plants one on her!

Vivi’s Place
Bruno walks up and picks the lock on the outside gate.  He sneaks into the house and starts planting surveillance type devices throughout the house.

Pablo and Luzma- Ah, L’Amour, L’Amour!
They walk to their little meeting place.  They’re both really happy.  She tells him how Camila received bunches and bunches of flowers from……her friends.  He promises one day he’ll fill their own house with flowers.  She likes the sound of that but also likes the thought of coming to this spot on every anniversary, this spot where they would always meet—and where they fell in love.  He promises that’s how it will be.  She’d even like their house built on this very spot but quickly realizes that wouldn’t be possible.  His parents are so against them.  She doesn’t understand how no one understands.  Even her school director suggested they wait, that they’re too young to go into marriage.  She suggests they take it slow and enjoy a courtship at this time.  She explains she told the director that they’re so in love that they’re ready to take the step.  She wonders what Pablo thinks.  Pablo agrees they love each other very much and shouldn’t wait to get married.

Meanwhile, back at Vivi’s
Bruno continues his stealthy activities.  As he’s walking around the living room, he sees a photo of Vivi and caresses it.  This seems to give him an idea and he heads into Vivi’s room.  She’s sleeping and he almost touches her hair, then lifts the comforter.  Oh no!  NO! NO! NO!

Natalia’s Bedroom
Our poor Natie flashes back to when Mariano asked her about her relationship with Yago while Yago was standing behind him, signaling “ix-nay on the ex-say” , if you catch my drift. She also remembers him telling her bluntly that he’s not like Pablo and never will be. If that’s what she’s expecting she may as well forget the whole thing.  I think she’s realizing what a mistake she’s made.  She grabs her phone and calls, you guessed it, Yago, who sees the incoming call from her and ignores it.  We come back to her as she says to herself, “I never should have made love to you! Que tonta!”   She holds back the tears.

Back to Vivi’s
Whew, Bruno doesn’t appear to have done anything and walks back to the living room where Daniel is heading back with a glass of water.  Daniel sees him and quickly throws the glass at Bruno and a struggle ensues.  Vivi hears the commotion and quickly gets up.  Bruno has gotten the best of Daniel and is punching him in the gut when Vivi walks in and turns on the lights.  She screams and Bruno makes a quick getaway.   Vivi screams for Rafael and Aaron as Daniel writhes in pain on the floor.  He’s in bad shape.  Rafa and Aaron rush in to help as we see Bruno running down the street.  Vivi explains it was Bruno and the two brothers give chase.  Bruno has hidden under a truck and they run right past him.

La Malquerida
Hissadora is talking to herself, saying she has to keep an eye on Ximena.  She knows Xi can’t be trusted, or anyone else for that matter.  Hissadora doesn’t plan on ever being poor again and this time she won’t have mercy on anyone for anything!  “Ay Alonso!  You had been so useful until now!”

Kitchen
Agustina complains to Camila, saying she can’t believe she allowed Piedad to take time off without consulting her!  Camila explains Piedad had to take care of some personal matters.  Agustina insists she should have been informed that the cook would be gone for a few days!  What, Cam doesn’t want her to  manage the house anymore?  Cam tells her to chill, she shouldn’t take it that way.  Agustina starts to snivel that everyone pushes her aside and doesn’t take her into consideration, not even for the measly little responsibilities that she’s always had in this house.  Cam tells her again to chill.  She’s had a lot of things on her mind lately.  That’s all, it won’t happen again.  Agustina certainly hopes so because it’s not possible Camila should have so little consideration for her own mother!

Vivi’s house
Daniel looks pretty bad.  His wound has opened up again.  Rafa and Aaron return, without Bruno.  They find Bruno’s bag o’ goodies.  They convince Daniel to allow Aaron to take him to the other room. Vivi is frantic about Bruno getting back into her house.  Rafa tries to calm her down but she can’t stand the thought of never being rid of him!

Alonso/Ximena’s Bedroom
Ruh-roh!  Ximena, pulling her robe closed, asks Alonso what’s wrong!  This had never happened with her.  He’d always been able to…….  Alonso just stands there, hanging his head.  He finally speaks only to blame it on her which she denies.  She reminds him he’s had this problem since he was married to Camila.  “It’s not me, it’s you!”  Alonso comes toward her.  “You began to control me, manipulate me.  I will not allow you to do that!”  She doesn’t know what he’s talking about.  She tells him she only wanted them to get along.  He’s getting agitated.  “Oh yeah?” He grabs her and shakes her. “Well that doesn’t matter!  You only want to dominate me and have me do what you want.”  She continues to deny everything – she’s really scared now.  He starts getting really rough now, grabbing her face and telling her he’s not her puppet (títere), under her control!  She tells him he’s hurting her and he responds by saying she’s hurting him with her indifference (desamor) and lack of affection.  She doesn’t understand why he says this when she loves  him!  She’s crying now and he’s getting more violent.  “Really?” he asks.  “All you’ve done is emasculate me (castrar)!  You’ve taken away my manhood/manliness (hombría).  You’ve taken away my hombría, that’s what you’ve done!  Well that’s over now!”  And pow! He hauls off and hits her!  She’s thrown back but gets up and slaps him hard.  “You will not hit me!  Only a coward hits a woman!  A man like you!”  Alonso seems to realize what he’s done and attempts to touch her but she slaps  him away.  “You’re crazy! Crazy! Crazy!  What’s wrong with you?!?”  Alonso freaks and finally leaves the room.  Ximena falls back on the bed and starts crying.

Agustina/Dionicio’s room
Bruno calls and tells Dionicio he was caught as he was installing the cameras and mics as ordered.  Dion’s not pleased, to say the least.  Bruno is sure they’ve found the equipment and they’re sure to be more suspicious now. (duh, you think?)  Dionicio demands that Bruno come up with a way to keep up the surveillance!  He ends the call and Agustina peeps out from under the covers (I hadn’t realized she was there!)  He crudely tells her it wasn’t anyone on the phone and tells her to go back to sleep.

Meanwhile, Bruno is really angry.  He sends a quick text to Ximena telling her their deal is on.  He really wants to get out of Dodge.

La Malquerida
Alonso has found his way to the living room and starts drinking.  Yep , that always solves everything.  He heads out the door.

Back at Vivi’s
Vivi is trying to care for Daniel as best she can.  She suggests they get a doctor but Daniel refuses, of course.  Aaron is cutting up some bandages and tells him he may need stitches. They’ll definitely need a doctor which would require they leave town to find one.  Vivi knows who can help and she calls Camila.  She explains about the fight and Daniel’s injury.  Camila doesn’t hesitate and says she’ll be right over.

Hostal Amanda
Amanda and Osvaldo have returned from dinner.  He’s asking for an answer.  She says he took her by surprise.  She always thought he saw her as a friend.  He admits he was also surprised to discover his feelings for her but he’d like for her to consider a relationship with him.  He’s not proposing a passionate love affair at this point in their lives.  But they know each other well enough to keep each other company.   She can’t commit to anything at this point with everything going on with Dionicio.  If they can’t find evidence against him, she’ll have no choice but to run again, just like she did when Natalia was a baby even though Dionicio is threatening her not to.  Osvaldo tells her this is why he wants to be near her, to protect her from Dionicio.  If she wants to run, he suggests they go together.  She couldn’t possibly put him through that.  He explains he’s been an honest hard worker his whole life but he has no one.  He has this hope of building a life with her and Natalia.  Amanda admits she cares for him, cares for him very much.  But she’s not sure this is enough for them to join their lives.  Well, it’s enough for him so the decision is up to her.  He tells her to take her time.  He kisses her hand and walks away.

La Malquerida
Camila is rushing out when she meets up with Alonso in the courtyard.  He tells her he needs to say something to her.  He’s standing there with a bottle and so she naturally assumes he’s drunk.  He denies it but says he would need to be to this all off his chest!  She was the only good thing he had in his life.  She tells him she has an emergency and really needs to leave.  He repeats that he needs to tell her……..she repeats she has an emergency.  He tearfully says he knows perfectly well why he couldn’t be with her as a man.  He couldn’t because…..it wasn’t her fault, it wasn’t his……it was “her” and her damned way of being. FX has come out and is listening from a distance.  Camila asks, “her--who?”  He responds, “The worst one of all.  The worst.”  Camila doesn’t know what is going on with him but she really has to leave – she has an emergency!  He continues as though she didn’t say anything, “She wanted me to be perfect in everything.  But no, in her eyes I never was.”  For the fourth time, she repeats that she has an emergency and has to leave.  What happened is in the past and it doesn’t matter.  She can only imagine who “she” is and again says she has an emergency (fifth time, but who’s counting?) and has to leave.  She finally turns and hurries away.  We see FX is still hanging around. Alonso stumbles to the fountain and talking to himself says, “Te odio Isadora, te odio Isadora, te odio.  Then he shouts it:  “TE ODIO ISADORA! TE ODIOOOOOO!”

Inside, Ximena has gone crying to Hissadora, showing her what Alonso did to her.  Alonso had the nerve to hit her!  Hissadora wonders what Ximena could have possibly done or said to him?  (really, Hissie?) Through her tears, Ximena explains he couldn’t “perform” and he went plumb loco!  Hissadora calmly observes that he again has that “problem”.  She doesn’t seem surprised.  Ximena feels it’s worse than that.  He started going on and on about how she was trying to control him, manipulate him.  He even said she emasculated him (castrar – there’s that word again)!  She explains she was really scared and thought at one point he would try to force her as he tried with Camila.  There was so much going on in her mind that all she could see was that he seemed truly crazy!  Hissadora only looks on, expressionless.  Then she  says it’s good he wasn’t able to “perform” with her and that he reacted the way he did.  Ximena screams at her – If she hadn’t defended herself, she could have ended up raped, or dead.  And, according to him, he loves her!  Hissadora’s always thinking.  She tells her Camila has to be told about this!  She instructs Ximena she must go to Camila tomorrow and, in tears, explain how she now empathizes with her for that she went through.  Hissadora thinks this fits right in with their plans.  “Como anillo al dedo (fits like a ring).  Alonso must be seen as a demented, crazy man to everyone.  You understand?  It’s perfect!”  She smiles while Ximena continues to cry.

Downstairs, Alonso comes back inside, stumbling through the living room.  He thoughtbubbles the argument with Ximena.

Vivi’s
Rafa and Aaron are going through all the electronics they’ve found through the house.  Vivi walks in, crying.  Rafa goes to comfort her.  He only wishes he had caught up to Bruno to smash his face for what he’s done to her.  Just knowing he was here makes her afraid again.  She breaks down and he holds her.  Aaron reminds her she had been able to overcome it before.  She can’t give in to this.  They’re here to protect her.  He can’t do anything to her while they’re there.  She’s not so sure of that.  Dr. Camila arrives.  She’s sorry Bruno has once again come to bother Vivi.  Vivi can only hope they can throw him in jail for a long time.  She takes Cam to Daniel.

Rafa rages again that he wasn’t able to catch up to Bruno.  Aaron laughs at him and wonders how long it will take him to admit he loves Vivi.  Rafa always thought Aaron was interested in her.  Aaron corrects him, saying he was only interested in her as a friend.  Rafa thinks he’s crazy.

Camila walks in and Daniel thanks her for coming.  She reminds him she only came cuz no one else can tend to him.  Vivi leaves them alone and Camila prepares to tend to his wounds.  Mr. Hunka only asks if she liked the flowers.  She tells him not to try to get up and not to send her more flowers.  Understood?  He tells her that when he saw her that afternoon, he thought that would be the last time.  But when he heard she had agreed to come tend to his wounds, he realized she must still care.  She stands up and in her best doctor voice coldly tells him she’s gonna need to suture that wound so she needs him to do three things:  1) don’t talk  2) sit still, and 3) stop talking to her about love, ok?  Daniel says “Is that your final word?  Is that really what you want? You never want me to talk to you about us?  Never kiss you again? Embrace you? You never want us to be together again?  Is that what you really want?  Because if that’s what you really want, tell me once and for all and we’ll be done with this.”  She doesn’t answer and just looks at him.  And he, well he just looks scrumptious!  (sigh)

Buenaventura (silly sidestory)
Mariano is working late in his office. We see Ana sneaking by his office door but he sees her and calls her into his office.  She explains she was getting a glass of water.  He offers to go with her and then accompany back to her room.

In Refugio’s room, Roman is having trouble sleeping on the bed.  It’s too soft.  Refugio tells him he’ll get used to it.

Vivi’s
Camila only responds that she must suture the wound quickly or he’ll have to go to the hospital.  He keeps getting in her way and tells her that not being with her hurts more than any wound.  She keeps trying to work but he keeps interrupting her and says if she really wants to end things then that’s what they’ll do.  He will no longer insist.  She’s fine with that!  She leaves the room and asks for their help in suturing him.  Aaron and Rafa walk in.  Rafa introduces her to his brother (I forgot they’d never met!).  She slyly says she remembers him from the photo – he’s Daniel II, right?  Daniel makes a cute face (not hard, I know).  She gives orders.  She asks Aaron to assist with the sutures, cuz he’s had experience with this.  She asks Rafa to bring her a flashlight.  Then she asks Vivi to hold down Daniel, cuz this is gonna hurt like the dickens. (ok, she’s got 2 big strapping young men there but she asks Vivi to hold down and strong man like Daniel by herself – ok).  I chuckle as the scene ends  with all three, Vivi, Rafa, and Aaron stand behind her as she begins to work.

The next day, Bulls in the corral.  SALUD!

Malquerida
Camila’s having breakfast alone and Dorotea wonders if she’s feeling ok – all she’s having is fruit.  Camila asks her for tea.  Dorotea assumes Camila is lovesick (mal de amores).  That has to be it, right?  She agrees to make the tea.

Ximena joins Camila for breakfast.  Xi starts to cry and tells her what happened when Alonso couldn’t “perform”.  Camila suddenly notices the bruises and demands to know if he did that to her!  Ximiena tearfully admits he did.  She puts her spin on what happened, saying they were attempting a reconciliation of sorts.  She was even ready to accept the postponement of the wedding when he went crazy and slapped her.  “That was no slap,” says Camila, “he beat you!”  And here she thought he was starting to change.  Ximena continues, saying she thought Camila was only angry because Alonso was now in love with her (Xi), but now she knows better.  He was talking like he was possessed (poseído).  He spoke as though he was talking to someone else.  He accused her of manipulating him, emasculating (castrar, one more time!)  Camila sees he hasn’t changed. Ximena starts sobbing in earnest now.  She feels humiliated and angry.   Camila tries to calm her down, when in walks Alonso!  He slowly shakes his head at Ximena.  Camila turns to see him and he walks away.  She calls after him but he doesn’t return.  Ximena continues her rant, now saying he’s ill and needs help.  He needs psychiatric help.  Yeah, that’s what he needs.  She continues to cry uncontrollably and Camila goes to her side and embraces her.

Agustina and Dion’s bedroom
Dion is looking for the shirt he bought in Vegas.  Agustina’s busy putting on her makeup and tells him it’s in the closet.  He wants to know what’s bugging her and she tells him!  She’s tired of the way he’s treating her!  She’s nothing more than his maid and she doesn’t like it one bit!  She went through that with FX and she won’t do it again!  Dion tells her he’s definitely not FX!  “That’s what I thought too,” says Gussie, “but lately I’m beginning to doubt that.”  He didn’t realize things were so bad between them.  “Well, they are,” she says.  “Maybe it’s time we recognized that…..maybe…..we made a mistake by getting married!”  He kneels before her surprised to hear her speaking that way – she can’t be serious.  He “loves” her.  Agustina:  “I don’t feel your love by any means.”  Dion:  “Why?  I treat you like a queen!”  Aagustina:  “What queen?  We live in my daughter’s ranch.  You don’t support me, or touch me, or cater to me, or treat me with any affection.  Do you think that’s ‘living like a queen’?”  atta girl!  Dion:  “You’re right, mi amor.  I’ve behaved like a cad.  You don’t know how sorry I am.  Please forgive me.  (oh, here it comes)  It’s just that I’m so stressed that I ignore all that I care for most.  That’s so unfair to you.  Please don’t doubt my love for you.  Don’t doubt it, I couldn’t bear it.”  Ah, she’s giving in, of course, whining “Love is demonstrated by gestures and you show me little consideration.”  Dion:  “I promise you that will change, mi amor.  Mmmm?  I promise.”  Agustina:  “Seriously?  Promise? Really, Really, Really?”  Dion: “Si, Si, Si – you wanna see your Lobito?  Huh? Wanna see your Lobito?   Caperucita?  AAAAAAAgh!”  He pounces on her and they fall back on the bed laughing. All I can say is EEEEEEEEEWWWWWW!  How do you say that in Spanish?

Vivi’s
Aaron has fallen asleep near Daniel’s bed.  Daniel wakes up (he’s still topless, sigh) and asks for Camila.  Aaron tells him she left after stitching him up.  Daniel sighs.  He no longer has anything to lose so they’re going through with “the plan” they discussed last night.

Thanks for the recap. I missed the reason Al lost it. Kinda figured that was it.

I cannot take many more nights of Camilla's attitude or Vivi's failure to change the locks.

Cindy

Paquito - Thank you. Your commentary is great. That last icky scene -- eek, with lobocito back.

I loved the scene with the Scoobies-as EMT team. "Daniel Dos" made me chuckle. How much longer can Camila act like she's not really with them? And that she doesn't want Daniel back?

It seems like the groundwork has been laid for more and more delays in the Pablo-Luzma marriage. At least they are talking again.

My heart sank when Natalia called Yago. Sadly, that kind of response is too common when someone feels betrayed and victimized.

And Isadora declaring that she's on her own now, trusting no one? She's hardly been a trusting soul -- ever!

Another good episode. If only it came on an hour earlier before I start to slip into extreme sleepiness.

Great work, Paquita.

I could barely believe that Bruno would risk entering the house with four adults sleeping in it. The odds were not going to be in his favor that he would get out undetected.

My TV picture is too dark to have seen it, but if they found his supply of microphones their next step should be to sweep the apartment to find all the surveillance equipment. Since Viviana figured out that Bruno was the one who hacked their e-mail they need to do a thorough job of this.

The stage is being set for Mariano to find out about Roman. Better him than anyone else.

I was trying to figure out whether Ximeana's tears were sincere or not and I still don't know. It hasn't been telegraphed to us yet but Hissadora could have brainwashed her very well by now.

If there had previously been any doubt we now know that Hissadora is the one behind Alonssso's impotence. If Alonssso is ever to recover his functionality he needs to not only see a shrink, he needs to put some real distance between her and himself. Like about half the planet.

As for Camila and Daniel I'm going to speculate: He will take some very serious risks and have another brush with death, which will bring them back together because it will force her to face that she can't live without him. Not long thereafter they're likely to find out that Miriam is still alive, which will throw another wrench into the works.

Tonight is the middle episode, so we are turning a corner.

Thanks for the great recap, Paquita.

I was so happy with Gussie and then....yes, she believed him. I think "EWWWW" is translatable in any language.

I'm with you Cindy. Camilla's attitude is getting on my last nerve.

Now, it seemed to me like Bruno broke in rather than used a key. Not sure.

Paquita-
What a fabulous recap. Poor Daniel. Bruno doesn't have a key, he picks the locks what Vivi needs is a deadbolt so that even if he picks the lock, he still wouldn't be able to get through the door. of course there are always Windows too. There's a reason people get those fancy home alarms because burglars are clever.

It seems from the previews that Osvaldo tells Cami about Dan's crazy plan. Perhaps this Will send her over the edge? She didn't answer his question about never kissing him or embracing him again. I mean, how could you say no forever to a man who looks that good lying shirtless in a bed?

I was glad to see Aaron point out to Rafa What he feels for Vivi. I also hope Amanda gives Osvaldo a chance.

Sorry about the strange caps in my message. Typing from my new tablet and it seems to have a mind of its own.

I was sad to see Nat try to call Yago and to see Gussy give in to Dio. I do think Xi was genuinely scared and freaked out by Al, but a lot of what she said to Cam was for show, and Al knew it. I'm not looking forward to finding out what this plan is that involves Bruno, Cam, crazy Al, and Isa and Xi. Hopefully it won't happen at the same time as Dan's crazy plan.

LoriLoo and RlaO- From your late question last night-- even though Vivo said she was unable to speak to Luzma, when a cab pulled up to the hacienda full of flowers, she knew exactly who they were for and where they should go. Good job Luzma.

Thanks Vivi. I haven't watched the episode yet but happen to be up extra early. How fun it is to have bloggers put up the recep so early. Thanks Pacquita.

Thanks so much, Paquita, for another excellent recap that filled in several conversations in Serbo Croatian (well, that's what the Spanish sounded like to my uncomprehending brain), gave me some useful Spanish vocab, and was lots of fun to read.

UA raised a number of points that I was planning to make. Like her, I was astonished that Bruno would try to place the microphones while four adults were in the house. I know that the Good Guys came upon his tools after he hastily left, but did they also find the stuff he planted, both the cameras and the mikes? Unfortunately, Daniel's wound took their attention away from the implications of the tools. I hope they do a thorough search--and PRONTO!

I was sad for Osvaldo that Amanda didn't accept his offer, but I wasn't surprised. I mean, if I were Amanda's age (late 40s, perhaps?) and someone said to me that he’s not proposing a passionate love affair at this point in our lives, I'd sure hesitate. Geez, she's not 85!

I missed the fact that Hissy was getting Xi to go to Camila as part of Hissy's scheme, so I thought Xi's statements and tears when she spoke with Camila were genuine. Perhaps they were anyway? I'm no longer sure, nor am I clear about what Hissy has in mind.

Indeed, I'm still in the dark about both Hissy's plot and Daniel's, though the Good Guys seem to feel that Daniel's will put Camila in peril.

I'm also uncertain why Ana is reluctant for Mariano to know that the urchin (whose name I've forgotten) is staying with them? I would have thought she'd trust her father about this.

So is the anvil soon to fall on Aloco?

Paquita, I loved your description of the Lobito/Caperucita scene. I think that "EEEEEEEEEWWWWWW!" in Spanish is "EEEEEEEEEWWWWWW!"

HAHA! Just read the title! Too funny!

Vivi- thanks for the clarification. I must have missed the car full of flowers.

She just mentioned it in passing to Pablo, when she fibbed about who the flowers were from.

Paquita, your writing is so good you should do it professionally. I mean it.

I'm surprised no one mentioned this yet. Camila is only eating fruit for breakfast and tea? She doesn't feel well? Uh, pregnant!

Really, Bruno is watching them with cameras he put around the apartment. You would think he would pick a time to put the microphones in when no one is there. Stupid criminal.

I like for Amanda and Osvaldo to be together, but in real life, I can't imagine a woman who looks like Amanda would ever go for a man who looks like Osvaldo unless he was rich. Osvaldo looks better paired up with a woman who looks like Agustina.

Dion must have had to have the performance of a lifetime when he pretended to want to do it with Aggie. And then actually do it, lol.

Can't wait to see what the goodguy's plan will be.

Cathyx- I guess since Dan arrived, the house hasn't been people-free at any point, so Bruno had to take the risk and do it at night. Had Dan not gone for a mid-night drink of water, and had Bruno resisted taking a peek at Vivi's goodies (eeeewwww!), then he would have gotten away with it.

I do believe they were able to find all the cameras and mics. It looked like Aaron and Rafa were taking everything off the shelves and checking above, in and under everything.

I need for Camila to actually LOCK her door. With everything going on, she just leaves it open, leaves it cracked, doesn't lock it, anyone can just bust in. It's a wonder her affair with Daniel wasn't exposed earlier since anyone and everyone can just bust in her cabin.

Alonso being impotent again came out of nowhere. **beanie time**

Agustina needs to sit down. She can get ruff & tuff with Camila over Piedad but quiet as a church mouse when Dionisio roars. Have a stadium full of seats.

Shouldn't Bruno have seen on his little cameras that everyone was home when he decided to break in?

And I can't believe no one noticed that big Logitech web camera he used on top of the curtains!

I give Natalia a pass on calling Yago because when you are full of illusions and give yourself to a man, you are shocked when he has no more use for you. Natalia is in shock. She was used for her body and discarded like a tissue. That doesn't excuse her trying to paint all men as dirty lying liars who lie, though.

Paquita - Great recap. Thanks for the vocab.

Al’s dive off the deep edge seems too sudden, and Hissadora didn't seem surprised he failed in the bedroom again. Maybe she drugged him to help him along to that cliff?

Xi is not one bit sincere with Camila. She's such a fool to think she's a partner with Hissadora.

I like Osvaldo but he didn't do a great job selling himself with that "no passion at our age" line. I think he is passionate about Amanda and needs to stop being so cerebral all the time. Maybe invest in a leather jacket.

Anon 207, Alonso's impotence problem never went away. The reason he has it became more clear to us in this episode that it's rooted in his lack of control over his life. As Ximena started to exert control over him, he reacts with impotence. And this problem stems back to his mother and how she has treated him his whole life. This is actually a very good portrayal of this problem. As issues surface, the reactive problem surfaces too. It will continue to happen until Alonso successfully treats the psychological damages he is suffering from. He may never get over it but he definitely needs counseling to help him work out all of his issues.

Cathyx- ITA about Alonso.

Al's becoming impotent as a result of Hiss mother is better than the too-cozy creepy moments we've seen him engage in with her.

I think that when Isadora mentioned that she's on her own now and can trust no one after talking with Ximena, she realized that Ximena was going back to Alonso after telling Isa that they were done and she wanted nothing to do with him anymore. Isa knows that it wasn't true and she can't trust Xi either.

I know that some men like to name their manparts, but Lobito? Double ewww.

I never got that penis nickname thing. It just seems so childish.

Osvaldo not worthy of Amanda because of his looks so he should look for an Augustina? And people wonder why I never post photos of myself. He needs to step up his game, like getting a few new suits and a good high-class men's fragrance.

Bruno needs to get out of Dodge, but I think his obsession with Vivi will be his undoing.

I think Os is very worthy of Amanda. The two have the same kind heart and desire to care for others in their lives. She needs more time to think of him as a suitor, and he needs to step his romance game up. I think they are a very good pair. Gussy was NEVER worthy of Os and his love for her.

Paquita thanks for the recap. I completely missed why Al started acting crazy.

Though in general I am not for TN couples marrying young, Pablo and Luzma are quite exceptional. In most TNs they would have stayed broken up until the last days. Moreover how he reacted to her rape - he handled the entire situation better than almost any TN males I've seen and that makes him one of the best galans ever.

Though Osvaldo didn't sell himself well, I think Gussy's rejection hurt him, I hope Amanda starts a relationship with him. However, I am concerned their relationship may be his anvil.

UA - ITA Os just needs some confidence and fashion tips. And we know TNs like to be didactic b/c Dio is considered a looker and we all know the prize Gussy got. As the years go the adage that looks fade but character becomes more and more evident to me.

This surprises me because a lawyer should be able to do this. Their verbal talent is what defines their ability, so Osvaldo needs to learn the moves. A little image makeover, flowers, chocolate, candle light, etc. That should do it.

El Diablo understands this. Of course he has that drop-dead voice and million peso smile to help.

Vivi - ITA Gussy was NEVER worthy of Os or his love and Amanda and Os are a great pair for the reasons you mentioned.

UA - I think at work he probably is an orator genius but he has been single all his life and never really developed his verbal skills in that area aside from being a good friend. I also think Gussy's rejection hurt him b/c he cares deeply for people. Once his confidence with women returns or actually forms for the first time, I think he will be as passionate about love as he is about his work and right & wrong.

Osvaldo told Amanda he was willing to leave town with her if she fled to get away from Dio - he'd be leaving behind his lifelong law practice and home for her. He's passionate but just doesn't know it.

Pacquita: Awesome recap.

I liked the scene with Amanda and Os at the restaurant, but think he’s moving a little fast.

Bruno picked a time when the house was fully occupied to plant audio?!!! And going into Vivi’s room. Ewww!! When he lifted the covers I almost hurled. Also, why haven’t they installed a security system in that place?!

I was afraid when Aaron headed down the street looking for Bruno that B might attack him and A’d be dead.

OK. Agustina’s little fit in the kitchen. I get why she’s upset. I think she has a right. She was given the household to run. But don’t be whining that “Camila should have so little consideration for her own mother!” when she has shown little consideration for Cam.

Poor Alonso. I really do feel sorry for him.

Did anyone else notice that Cam has been calling Vivi “Viviana” since the big reveal and when Vivi called her about Dan she answered the phone “Vivi”? I thought here’s some progress. Then when she got to her house, she called her “Viviana” again. I think it’s time she forgave them. They’ve explained why they did what they did. They’re obviously sincerely on her side and sincerely sorry. They are not likely to lie to her or keep things from her again considering how she's reacted. It’s her pride that’s keeping her from relenting. It’s becoming childish.

I liked Os and Amanda’s talk at the hostel. It might not be romantic, but it was honest. And I have to say I’m at the age where that kind of relationship would appeal to me. Not that I’m not romantic but after being by myself for a long time, it would be nice to have companionship with someone I care a lot about even if it wasn’t a passionate love.

Loved the whole Aaron/Rafa scene re: R loving Vivi. Also loved all the mugging everyone was doing behind Cam’s back. I’m glad Dan pushed her to make a final decision.

I wondered when I was watching the scene with Cam and Xi if she was sincere. Since I didn’t understand the convo she had with Isa, I didn’t know. Now that I’ve read the recap, I still think part of it was sincere.

Good for Agustina—at least for the first part of that convo she had with Dio.

UA: “As for Camila and Daniel I'm going to speculate: He will take some very serious risks and have another brush with death, which will bring them back together because it will force her to face that she can't live without him. Not long thereafter they're likely to find out that Miriam is still alive, which will throw another wrench into the works.”—that would be a good way for the story to go.

Vivi: Noticed it too, from reading the recap, that Cam didn’t exactly tell Dan they were through.

Anon207 re: Nat. “That doesn't excuse her trying to paint all men as dirty lying liars who lie, though.”—but understandable that she thinks that right now, it’s still so raw. Hopefully, that will pass and soon.

Thank you for the recap!

I understand now about Izzy's plan to drive Al crazy. I thought it was funny when Cam made everyone help her to cure Dan. Clearly she just wanted to get him to shut up about the lovey dovey stuff. Of course he's not gonna talk about that to her in front of his friends.

I too think it was dumb of Bruno to enter Vivi's room while he was supposed to be on a stealth mission. I hope his end is near.

Unfortunately it looks like Ximena's whining to Cam will work.

Wow, I go away for a little while and I'm getting creamed in the comments. I think you are misinterpreting what I said and meant, and maybe I didn't make myself clear.

First, I said I like them together. I want them to be together, I like both of their characters. What I was trying to say was that in real life, people pair up according to how they look. Like it or not, you don't often see people who are not very attractive coupled with people who are.

With that being said, the actress playing Amanda is quite an attractive woman. The actor portraying Osvaldo is a rather dowdy older man, and in my opinion, not very attractive. I would describe Agustina that way too. That's why I said that Aggie and Osvaldo look more like the likely couple, solely based on looks. I don't mean to imply that Osvaldo should be with Aggie, I don't. I don't even like Aggie. It was simply an observation, not an assessment on their characters. I like both Amanda and Osvaldo and would be thrilled if they became a couple.

Don't feel beat up Cathyx. You sparked a good conversation!

ITA with Vivi, Cathyx. You did spark a great conversation regarding Osvaldo and Amanda! I'll just add that, as they say, "Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder," and then of course, there's the obviously gorgeous like Daniel, and imo Rafa.

Also liked your assessment of Alonso's issues. I really do feel sorry for him. He didn't stand a chance with a faux-mother like that. I think the actor playing him is fantastic.

Been away for a week and then have been nursing an awful cold. My DVR only recorded one episode last week, so I depended heavily on the recaps and the comments. Thank you Team AB: Urban A, Paquita, Mena, 5 Ft and Jardinera. You all certainly paint lovely pictures with your words.

Nothing to add, just my appreciation.

Paquita, you aced it!! Thanks for a great recap which always makes for great comments.
It’s so funny how at times each of us can interpret the same words and situation so differently. I liked Os words to Amanda that he’s not proposing a passionate love affair at this point in their lives. I thought his words meant he’s past the age where you think of a passion love affair as mainly hot sex. I do think he is they type who would persue her with the things UA mentioned such as as roses, chocolates and candlelight dinners.
Actions always speak louder than words, it might have been better if Os had acted out his intentions instead of putting them in words. Also, it would make me kind of nervous for a man to tell me he’s looking for a life time relationship before you’ve even known him romantically for a week.

I meant to ask, what was the significance of FX spying on Cami and Xi's conversation. What can he do with the information?

Agree with Anon207 that the return of Alonso's impotence seemed to come out of left field. Yes, he's never actually dealt with it, but he had been performing fine with Xi up to this point - and they even had a fun time shopping just before that. She seemed to be really happy and unless she "ordered" him to do something in such a way as to remind him of Isa (which wasn't shown), then I was like - huh?

I also think that Osvaldo made that remark about "passion" so as not to scare Amanda off - to sort of stave off a direct refusal from her in case she was leery of his intentions.

Dan had already asked Luzma to place the flowers for him. When he hadn't gotten anywhere with Cami, he decided to tell her never mind - which was the message Vivi was supposed to deliver. When Vivi told him she hadn't been able to deliver the message, he said that he hadn't wanted Cami to misinterpret his intentions (bribery by flowers?), but then sort of shrugged his shoulders and said, "Oh, well, she would misinterpret them either way."

"EEEEEEEEEWWWWWW!" in Spanish could also be "guácala!" or "huácala!" Both are used to denote something disgusting. Or simply, ¡QUÉ ASCO!
