Por ella soy Eva #100 12/7/12: You're The One That I Want

I am doing this recap on the fly, so if I miss something please let me know.

It is unpacking day at the new abode of Lalito and Helena. Pluti is helping and suddenly, Helena's phone rings, and it is, I'll give you three guesses and the first two don't count. It is JC of course. He tells her he is at the Minstero Publico, they won't let him go cause he has no i.d. and could she please come down and help him out? On her end, Pluti is watching her and she pretends it's her Moms on the phone. The head cop at the desk is wondering why it is taking JC so long to talk on the phone, and JC asks for some privacy, and funny thing is they do give him privacy. He tells Helena he told the cops, his name is Juan Perez Contraras, and that they are married, and if she could just come down there, they'll let him go. Well on her end Pluti is telling Helena to say hi to Moms for him, and JC knows Pluti is there. Helena is telling "Moms" she just can't and now JC is beggin' her to please come down there, when there is a disconnect. Helena is verklempt!

At G.I. Rebe is trying to break into Pluti's office on her quest to derail him. She has a binder in her hand, and Renato catches her, red handed so to speak. He wants to know what she is up to, tryin' to get into Pluti's office. She says it is work related and shows him the binder, but he is not buying what she is selling and she ends up going, and Renato gets some text on his phone, and smiles and goes.

Back at Helena's she gives some excuse to Pluti about her Mama and she is desperately trying to think of a way to get rid of Pluti. He is helping Lalito with his room, I think.

Now to Bastardo and Silvia, she brings him his coffee, and he says good you came back home, she wanted to come help him, cause of his arm, he is rude to her and she flings the apron she has down right in front of him and is going to leave. He calls for her. When Silvia doesn't come back, Bastardo follows her to the front hall and asks her not to leave, Amazing. He says this is her house, has always been her house, and always will be and he doesn't want her to go. She ends up staying. Now Silvia is cleaning the house and she can't believe the condition it is in. She is starting to take the trash out, when she picks up the pic of Helena, Bastardo and herself. It's her favorite pic, when her cell rings. It is the lady from the CODA classes, asking Silvia to come along to some kind of party for an anniversary I think. Silvia declines and tells the lady thanks, but she has returned to her husband, but thanks for the invite. Bastardo comes in as she is hanging up and wants to know who that was. I didn't catch what she said to him, but Bastardo mocks her and walks off. She tells herself not to let him provoke her. Later, Silvia goes to Bastardo's sewing room asking if he needs some help cutting a pattern. At first he nixes it, but then he lets her do it. It is for some Commandante Salazar and she mentions something about do they still have dinners, like the romantic ones they went on? He doesn't have time for those now, he has work, and Silvia thinks it's a good idea if they went sometime. He tells her to just cut the pattern and she does, but behind her back, he is genuinely smiling at her. Who knew?

Helena is trying to convince Pluti to go, things are going well and he isn't needed, doncha know. And by the way, tonight he is wearing black instead of the usual shiny suit. Saved by the phone. Renato has called Pluti about Rebe trying to get into his office. Renato tells Pluti she tried to play it off, but it was suspicious to him and he'd thought he'd let Pluti know. Pluti is so down with that. Helena asks who it was, and Pluti says the office. Must be important if they are calling on a weekend, she says. He looks thoughtful.

Well, back to the Delegacion, and the cop at the front desk wants to know if the wifey pooh is coming down to help him out or not? They just can't go on JP's word, doncha know. JP is trying to think of a way out, when in walks Helena right behind him. He looks at the cops and says see. Helena is giving him the death ray.

Rebe is in her office of the "exploded good n'plenty" (Thanks Melinama) and Pluti comes in and scares her half to death. He is also loaded for bear. He tells Rebe she is never to go in his office, for anything. So she says, so Renato ratted me out, well here is the proof of why I wanted in your office, and she hands him the binder, she showed Renato. It has to do with the Playa project. She is near his ear and goes to kiss it. He moves. She is talking in his ear, about wanting him to trust her again, and she licks his ear, and kisses it too. He gets up and says he doesn't trust her at all. She grabs him by the hips, makes the wolf sound and he rolls his eyes. She is trying to seduce him. Now Rebe is on about that climber Helena, he isn't going to talk about Helena, he's a gentleman, doncha know!!!! She reminds him how he used to howl at the moon, which she does. She is trying to get him to remember those good times they had. He says he can control the sex and his urges cause he ain't no animal, Que Que What??? Rebe wants him to remember the trysts in the office, with the red cape, doesn't he miss that? Now she goes in for a kiss, and now he isn't pushing her away. Remember that part about the urges? Well, he is so givin' in to them. Well they are still going to town with those kisses, when suddenly Pluti pulls away and we see that Rebe had unbuttoned his shirt! Wow, what a chest Pluti has, jus' sayin'. Anyways, he's done with her and this certainly will not happen again. Rebe was tryin' to get him to see she is the woman for him, but he tells her the only woman for him is Helena and to leave him in peace. He goes.

So now back to the Delegacion. JP says mi amor and grabs Helena for a quickie kiss and boy is she pithed! She slaps him hard, across the face and launches into a rant as the mad wife. She accuses him of lying, doesn't take into account her feelings, he's out all the time, blah blah, you get the pic and he belongs in jail! She paces back and forth between the desk and JP and JP is trying to calm her down, but she keeps on and asks the cop why is he here? She is really laying into JP and the cops are listening as she is giving the true history of JC, minus the fraud, but everything else. He runs around, he isn't faithful, he broke her heart. The head cop sympathizes with her. He says he is here for love, he wants the cops to back him up, well she approaches JC, she says Juan and socks him another one again! The head cop interrupts them and says look we just need to know if y'all are married, which commences a rapid fire argument between Helena and JC which was so fast, I didn't get any of it.

Angie and Santi are at Angie's photo shoot. She is wearing a one piece bathing suit, with some slits on the sides and the photog is having her pose provocatively with a boa type thingy, and Santi is so not happy. He tries to get Angie's attention about covering up, and finally the photog says he can't work this way with Santi on the sidelines. Well Angie begs Santi to go, cause it is bothering her , but Santi is arguing with her and she finally gets him to leave, after telling him it is artistic work. Well after Santi goes, the photog takes more pics and then asks Angie if she wouldn't mind taking off what she has on, in other words, nude, to take more pics. She agrees and the pics commence. The photog likes what he is takin' pics of.

So back to the Delegacion and the head cop just wants proof they are married. She is telling the head cop about the marriage still and says you want proof, well I got proof and pulls out a pic of JC and then the one of JC, her and Lalito. The head cop and the other cops are happy with the pics and the head cop goes off to make copies, and the uniformed cops are still with JC and Helena. She runs them off, and tells JC, I think he isn't the man she knew. Now Helena and JC play a little game of musical chairs. Back and forth and he keeps asking if this seat is taken. lol. The uniform cops look on and speculate that JC really does love his "wife". On the last go round with the chairs, Helena tells JC if he keeps doing that, she's going. He tells her if someone hadn't implicated him in this fraud, they would have been married already, she blames him for the situation cause he lied, and now he tells her we gotta show these cops we are "married" she is way reluctant. He just wants a kiss to prove they are "married", she wants to go already. She gives him a quick peck on the lips, but JC says it isn't enough for the cops. So now they start the kissing again, but this one, this time goes on and on. Get a room already, jus'sayin'. JC tells her he loves her, once that kiss is finally over. The cops see this and the one cop tells the other, she forgave him with that kiss, the other one says yeah, but she was pithed all that hitting, and the cop says they are so in love, and the cops say together, where can I find a woman like that, and the head cop also agrees. Well Helena isn't down with telling JC she loves him and he wants to know what about those pics in your purse? The gist is that Lalito put them there! She denies that she carries them around all the time, and then they start the kissing again and the cops clap. They really need to get a room! Now they are at the desk, and the head cop has JP's paperwork and JC is snuggling Helena from behind. Head cop gives the paperwork to JP tells him to behave himself and respect his wife. JC makes a promise in front of the law, the cops have removed their hats, that from now on he will be a changed man. He will only love his wife and she is in charge, lol. They all shake hands and then Helena drags him out by the shirt. (Ed Note: I know y'all make comparisons to LFMB, which I didn't see, but this whole fight in front of the cops, kissing, shaking the cops hands, reminds me of a scene from Destilando Amor, where Rodrigo and Gaviota have been hauled into the police station, it was almost the same type argument, and same result, too funny). (Ed Note: About the head cop, he is the same one they used in UFCS as the head cop at the Delegacion).

At G.I. Santi and Lucia, literally run into each other. He smacks his knee, he is in some pain. She hurt her hand, and then he notices the way she dressed and oogles her charms and her heels. She covers up the charms with the folder she is carrying. She wants to know what he is doing there, as she hedges about her manner of dress. She asks if he is ok, which he isn't. Santi is ranting to Lucia about the photos his wife is having taken, it makes his blood boil, and Lucia is trying to calm Santi down. Santi now wants to know about Lucia's new "luke". She says it was a surprise for Renato. She doesn't like competing with Rebe. Santi tells Lucia something about Rebe that freaks her out, and now he is having to calm her down.

Helena and JC leave the Delegacion, and Helena wants to know why he was drunk? He only had a couple glasses of wine, waiting for her, but she was busy with Pluti, doncha know. He also tells her he wants her to listen to him. She is calling home now, and he thinks it is to check in with Pluti and she makes faces at him. She finds out the nanny is with Lalito and Pluti isn't there. She tells the Nanny to call if she is needed, she'll be out for a bit. Helena tells JC she is willing to listen, but hurry it up already cause she can't be gone for long. He tries to give her his arm, she walks off and they do a whole schtick of going off in different directions until they go together. They are walking in a park now and Helena reminds him she is now in another relationship, and to get on with it. He tells her from the beginning about the investigation and what he has found out so far about the Playa project, what went down with that, he's accused of fraud, he "died", the account he supposedly had in New York, and the false papers that went with that were in his name. He also explains to Helena about the document his Mama signed, remember the one Onesimo had her sign, under the guise of an autograph? JC says he wanted her to see his face as he told her the truth so she would know. She says there isn't enough proof under the law he didn't do the fraud. JC wants her to beleive he didn't do this fraud, what is her opinion? What about Pluti, do you now beleive he did it? Oh, noes she says, not Pluti, oh noes. He asks if she has told anyone that he is alive. And she says yeah, Eva Maria, she's a great woman! He smiles. Eva Maria is on his side! JC's phone rings, and it is ,wait for it, Adri! Helena wants him to answer. He just looks at her and here is where the epi ends.

Avances:

Helena wants JC to "meet" Eva. Adri is already there looking for Eva at the pension along with Helena and JC is hiding outside!

Thanks so much for a truly excellent interpretation of a truly fun capitulo, Madelaine! I was so glad you were able to explain some of the language tha t I couldn't catch.

I thought JC and Helena were adorable. Both the kisses and the slaps were important. It showed both her deep love and her hurt. She was right, if he hadn't done the whole Juan Peron thing, they would not be standing in a cop station. But deep down we want her to help him get to the bottom of the fraud and hopefully find that he is a changed man in the process. Now she is telling him what a great woman Eva is. What a wonderful dilemma that she wants him to meet Eva, this 'grand mujer' that Helena confides in. She is going to be so angry when she finds out that JC is Eva!!

Madelaine - Thanks.

About Silvia's phone call, when Bastardo asked who called and she refused to tell he made some crack that it couldn't be a suitor because no one would want an old woman like her. As Ithabill said, it' time to stab a fork in his face.

Not much Adriano in this episode. I missed him.

Thanks for a detailed recap of a very detailed episode! I loved the interchanges between Helena and JC at the ministerio publico. My favorite was when Helena was railing against JC and telling the police they could do all the women of Mexico a favor by throwing him in the old excusado and flushing him away. It was disappointing seeing Silvia back cleaning up after Bastardo (Madelaine: that is the best nickname for him ever). She does seem better but she should have gone for the party with her CODA chums because old habits die hard and she has to be aware that Bastardo might just be snookering her in. I don't trust Bastardo and never will. Poor Santi realizing that his wife's photo work is closer to XXX rated than artistic. It sure headed to at least X rated when he left the shoot. Maybe she will run away and join the circus if he is lucky.

Thanks, Madelaine!

It was a delightful episode with the very satisfying JC/Helena scenes. Of course it is set up that he will chicken out of telling her he is Eva. Problems will ensue.

I loved Lucia and Santi together. I couldn't understand what he said to upset her - I was hoping he told her Renato was gay - too bad it was something about Rebeca. It was funny that everyone made comments about her outfit but it was really more subdued than what Helena was wearing.

Eduardo keeps giving Silvia what appear to be loving looks so maybe he is starting to change. He's still mean though.

Great job Mads! It was a fun episode with the Helena-JC scenes, but I SOOOOO hated the Bastardo-Silvia scenes. I don't care if he's being nice (his version of nice). It's NOT good enough.

Here's the basics of the Santi-Lucia conversation-- She says she dressed this way to spark Renato's interest in her, but it didn't seem to work. She then mentions that he DID defend her when Rebe dissed her and then made a date for later that night. She also says how he always comes to her defense with Rebe. Santi then says that it seems him that Renato's interests seems reversed. He seems to pay more attention to Lucia in reaction to Rebe-- as if he's trying to make Rebe jealous and as if Rebe is the one he's really interested in. That's what got Lucia so upset.

Thanks Vivi for what I missed, no wonder Lucia was doing that thingy with her hands and she was soo upset, lol. I am beginning to wonder if Renato has a thing for Rebe too.

Anon 8:48- completely agree with you. I too hope she helps him and it should be a good feeling for him that she trusts Eva, who we all know is really JC. I think that warmed his heart.

Niece in MD- thanks about the phone call. I couldn't figure out why he was mocking her so badly, what a Bastardo! He does need that fork to the face.

Jarifa- I too agree with what you said.I wish Silvia had gone to the party with her friends from CODA just to show Bastardo that he doesn't nor ever will rule her. Agree about Angie too, lol. She is really pushing it and Santi, I don't think will put up with it much longer.

Mil in NC agree with what you said about Bastardo too. If he would lose the mean looks, and actually treat Silvia the way he should, he would be on his way to a somewhat redemption. As it stands now it is still the fork to the face.

This sounds like a fun episode. Thanks for the clever recap, Madeleine. I'm looking forward to watching it.

Thanks, Madelaine, enjoyed the recap.

It did my heart good to see Helena and JC together. Nice opportunity for Helena to vent her feelings to JC. Those were some real kisses--Helena may think she's done with JC, but those kisses told another story.

Surprised Renato doesn't have sweat running down his face with those heavy scarves.

Bastardo doesn't seem capable of treating Silvia well, even when he thinks he is. Humility is a foreign concept to him.

La Paloma

Guera- This really was a fun episode. That fight between JC and Helena was really good and Pluti trying to stave off Rebe too.

La Paloma-That fight between JC and Helena really brought out all of the things that JC should have told Helena about but couldn't before. She got to take her anger out on him for all the grief she had thinking he was dead. Now that the air has cleared, I think she will help him. LOL'd about the scarf and Renato sweating.

Thank you, Madelaine. I enjoyed your title, although I think it was Vivi who said she didn't enjoy the ending to Grease.

This capitulo was the most fun I've had with television in a while. I loved the whole police station shtick. They both did a great job, and there was a lot of chemistry there. Lots of layers. Helena had to pretend for the police she is Juan's wife and in the process got to tell him a lot of what's true for her. And then she pretends to him that the photos and the kiss don't mean anything. And that business with him repeatedly sidling up to her and asking if the seat was taken. The whole thing was funny, clever, and immensely enjoyable.

One thing you gotta' say for Sylvia. She has established her limit. When she came back, Ed thought she was at his mercy. But when he said, "... then why don't you leave now?" and she headed to the door, he discovered that her status is far from begging.

Was is Thursday or thereabouts? Rebecca said something like, "I would never, ever be with a naco. I'd rather die first." That's it! She's sealed her fate! By the laws of TNs we're guaranteed that she'll end up with Onessimo.

I just checked my cable schedule and there won't be any Por Ella shown on December 14th. Uni is showing 2 hours of Corona de Lagrimas from 7:00pm to 9:00pm and then Amor Bravio from 9:00pm to 10:00pm and then a telethon similar to a Jerry Lewis telethon for children with various illnesses. Thought I would let y'all know.

Paula H thanks so much about the why don't you leave now. I am glad she is letting him now she isn't a push over. I hate the way he treats her and I thought maybe he was changing a bit, with the secret real smiles behind her back. I too would like to know, as Helena mentioned, a couple epi's ago, why all of a sudden he changed when she was 8 years old. He never answered her so I wonder what he is hiding.

I've been out of the country for a couple of weeks and just caught up in my viewing and the wonderful recaps. This is turning out to be my favorite TN of all time. Jaime and Lucero are marvelous together and I am so thrilled with this episode in particular and at long last, a real grand wonderful juicy kiss. I also adore all things Mimi. And little Lalito...the best child actor I've ever seen on a TN. Even the evil Bastardo is so truly a Bastardo and Plutarco....so consistently smarmy. Great cast and the story line moves along nicely for the most part.

Question: A while back, one of you very kind hearts posted Jaimie Camill's site where he solicits authentic comments on his progress as an actor....not just fan kudos. If anyone has that, could you re-post?

Happy hoidays everyone!

Dona Felipa

It's just SO good.

Dona Felipa, Jaime's e-mail address is fans@jaimecamil.com . I'm pretty certain that he reads virtually all his e-mail, and he sometimes answers, in English, though only 4-5 words. But he's answering himself; it's not "his people." As for his Twitter, I'm pretty sure he only reads SOME of that.

His English is superb (so is his spelling), so you don't need to "dumb down" your language. Considering the volume of e-mail he reads, I'd suggest that you compose your e-mail "newspaper style" - the most important info in a short first paragraph, with your key point in the first sentence. Then you can expand, explain, or give details farther down. If your key point were hidden way down the page, he might not read that far.

Yes, he treasures specific comments about his acting. During LEPerez, I e-mailed comments about a spectacular scene in which twins (both played by JC) responded differently in an intense situation. He actually posted my e-mail on his twitter (!!!!) with the following note. "De vez en cuando es increíble recibir críticas sobre tu trabajo que vayan mas allá de los amables (y clásicos) piropos que solemos recibir. Yo puedo sentir o creer que mi trabajo pudiera trascender pero, no existe mejor sentimiento como actor que el público lo confirme y lo comente. De verdad no saben lo bien que nos hace sentir y por eso lo comparto."

Let me know if you'd like a translation.

Madelaine, THANK YOU for confirming it was the same delagacion guy from Familia! I've been wondering if I was losing my mind with deja vu.

No epi on Friday? Awww. I was looking forward to doing the recap. Pbthththt. Thanks for the heads-up.

wow, Paula, that is so cool. You must have been in seventh heaven. I know he's your favorite. That's how I'd feel to get a response like that from Diana Ross.

Thanks, Bill. Yes, I think he does awesome work. I e-mailed you.
