Weekend Discussion: Tony Bennett Duets on Univision

We had a discussion a few weeks ago about novela music and someone mentioned this CD, which is now available.  At 9PM EST on Sunday there will be a music program with some of the songs from this CD.  This is a reminder to all to watch or record it if you can.

I'll be in and out both tomorrow and didn't have time to think of a new topic for this weekend, so if anyone wants to discuss music again, here is a place to continue it.

Urban- thanks so much for putting this up. Love Tony Bennett and can't wait to see this. I have a good collection of Tony Bennett but not this one yet.

I always loved the music for CS 2009 especially the guitar during the scenes with Juan and Regina. It almost sounded flamenco, it was beautiful throughout that TN. Except of course the theme song which was too modern.

UA - thanks for posting this link. I enjoy TB and look forward to see his duets w/Latina/o singers.

Mads - I also enjoyed most of CS 2009's music.

Sounds like a good show! Hopefully they put it on their new Uvideos website since I still can't pick up the Univision station. They also have episodes of the novelas on there if anyone needs them, but they're about a week behind what's current, FYI.

Thanks UA for reminder. I have it programmed on my DVR and hope that all functions well (have to be out tonight at a memorial for friend). It's such a lovely CD and I've been looking forward to the show. ,

Thanks for the reminder. I bought the Viva Duets cd acouple of weeks ago and enjoyed it so it will be fun to see all of the singers in aciton.

Could someone please remind me of the name of the theme song for "Eva Luna" that was sung by Jenni Rivera?

Really liked that song. It was really heartbreaking to hear today that Jenni Rivera was killed in a plane crash. I know the family confirmed her death on Telemundo and MSNBC is carrying the story as a sub-headliner.

I guess I can see if I can find it on You Tube.

Rest in Peace, Jenni.

Its called "El"- Jenni Rivera
