Por ella soy Eva #99 12/6/12: If You've Had Enough Don't Put Up with His Stuff, Don't You Do It.

We begin with Rebeca bothering the Virgin yet once again.  Boy, if HER prayers get answered then I'm a shoe-in.

At the pension, JC and Mimi are doing their Life is the Color of Roses dance.   Eva's phone rings persistently while Mimi tries to get JC to respond.  It's Adriano and Mimi feels for the love-sick puppy.  Adri leaves a mushy text, to which JC scowls but Mimi answers while JC protests.  Mimi sends Adriano besitos on Eva's behalf.

At home Kevin says something about the new girl, Claudia, at music school, and Fernando jumps all over it wanting to know if she's pretty.  Fernando is playing at being a soccer star like he's still 12, while Marcela scowls about him not looking for work.  It's Saturday he complains, but she tells him there are plenty of businesses open on Saturday.  He calls her a woman of little faith.  Just then Santiago calls with a job interview opportunity for Ferni.  He gets dressed in his suit and goes.  Marcela calls Santi to thank him.  Apparently she's the one who set this up.  Santi says that Fernando is like a brother to him.  He is very sweet to Marcela on the phone.

Eugenia is going out and Modesto is worried it's with that meddlesome woman Eva.  No, it's with Eugenia's agent, but Modesto isn't happy about that either, apparently having taken the same husbandry class as Bastardo.  Claudia is eavesdropping.  JC calls Eugenia and they congratulate each other for their good fortune- he for meeting with Helena and she for meeting with the agent.  It's so nice they've reconciled.

Silvia and Lalo are going to the new apartment to wait for the furniture to arrive, and Helena is sneaking away to meet JC although she continues to vacillate over it.  Just as she's heading out the door, oh no!, the Putz shows up.  He wants to help with the move but everything is taken care of and she mutters about having other things to do.  She has an attack of guilt and tells Pluto she hasn't been a good girlfriend lately and begs his forgiveness.  He thinks she's the cat's pajamas, so instead of meeting JC Helena goes with Pluto to the new apartment.  Meanwhile JC has set up a romantic table for lunch at the park where they had their first date.  He tells himself to be patient when she's late.  At the new apartment Silvia tells Helena that she is moving back in with Mad Dad.  For a second there the planet stops spinning... Viewerville roars in disapproval.

Claudia is asking Modesto about his life with Eugenia.  He relates his  disapproval of the lifestyle of actors- their many divorces and the scandals- and so he wanted Eugenia to leave that life.  Claudia notes that Eugenia sacrificed her career, and Claudia's mother sacrificed her dignity.  "What did you sacrifice?" she asks Modesto.  As usual he manages to look both annoyed and uncomfortable.

Eugenia is having lunch with her agent, who obviously likes her, and he is telling her that young people today don't know who she is and that returning to acting will not be easy.  She is indomitable in spirit and nevertheless plans to return to acting.

Fernando is at the job interview acting undeservedly very confidant.  I half expect him to put his feet up on the desk.  He gets the job, but when he finds out his boss will be a woman he doesn't want it!

Helena is concerned about Silvia's decision to return home, but Silvia says that Mad Dad is alone and his family is all he has and her place is with him.  Helena accepts this too easily, in my opinion.  JC calls Helena and she doesn't answer.  He calls again and she tells him she's changed her mind, she's not coming, she's sticking with the guy in the shiny silver shark suit.  "All I ask of you is to disappear from my life."  JC says that if that's how things are then nothing matters and he's turning himself into the police.  He hangs up.  "Why did he hang up?" she asks herself in frustration.  Really?  JC finishes off the wine and marches off.

Fernando is home and Marcela is upset that he turned down the job because it means working for a woman.  They have quite a fight this time, and he hurts her by complaining that she no longer takes care of their home because of her job.

Bastardo is alone upstairs eating on his bed and he hears the vacuum cleaner downstairs.  He walks softly downstairs to find Silvia in an apron cleaning up his mess.  They look at each other in silence.  She looks defeated and unhappy.  Viewerville urges her to pack his raincoat, throw him out.  Enough is enough.  He has the hint of a smile, which turns into a full fledged smirk when he gets back upstairs.  I want to stab him in the face with a fork.

Marcela is cleaning up the house and Ferni approaches her saying he's sorry and trying to charm her into no longer being mad.  Just as it appears he's doing just that, he asks her to make him some quesadillas, you know, with the sauce he likes and all.  Really?  She tells him that the stuff to make them is in the refrigerator and says her kids don't deserve a rat father like him.  If you've had your fill, get the check, pay the bill.  You can do it.

Lucia has come into GI on Saturday dolled up like Angelica.  Renato is a bit taken aback as she slinks up to him.  As usual she wants to fool around but he has work to do.  Rebeca walks in on them and makes some snide comments, including one about Lucia's appearance.  Renato jumps to her defense.  He tells Lucia that, well, maybe they'll get together later.  But first he has work to do.  No sunshine, no moonlight, no stardust, no sign of romance.  You don't stand a chance.

JC shows up at the police station and is on the verge of turning himself in when Helena calls him to tell him she will listen to his story.  Not because she trusts him but to give him the benefit of the doubt.  She will call him to arrange it when she clears her head.  When he hangs up the officer at the desk wants him to go on with what he came in for.  JC dissembles, but the officer states that JC smells like alcohol and he's going to be detained.  JC protests that he hasn't done anything wrong.

At home Santiago is getting ready to bring in some work (this is why nobody works all week long. because they all work on Saturday!).  Angelica informs him that her photo shoot for El magazine for men is today.  He's upset, and she protests that it's not pornography, it's art.  He says he's going with her.  She looks uncomfortable at the idea.

At the police station JC is trying to dazzle them with his usual BS, but the police aren't buying it.  JC has no identification on him (which of course he wouldn't want to show them anyway) and he tells them it was stolen.  He appeals to them as men- his woman will be furious that he's gone out and gotten drunk again.  The officer relents some, but he wants to see JC's wife come in to get him.  JC calls Mimi, but she is on the phone with someone else and doesn't answer.  The officer persists, and JC calls Helena and begs her to help him out.

Avances.  AT the police station, Helena first kisses JC and then slaps him.  Hard.

Bill, great recap. Ay yi yi, what was Lucia thinkin'??? Although, I think Renato was oogling her charms. Rebe was her usual mean self, but I liked the fact Renato stuck up for Lucia and "covered" her up.

So upset Silvia returned to Mad Dad. I too want to stick a fork in his face, Bill.

Fern is on my last nerve. He needs to grow up and stop acting like he's twelve years old. He has to get over the fact that he may have to work for a woman. He should have known this already. And the way he treats Marcela gets on my last nerve too. Glad she told him to make the enchilada's himself. And by the way he has been home for the last couple days. What is wrong with him picking up a broom or a mop, or how bout the iron he bought for Marcela?

Helena I wish would just listen to Juan, instead of constantly blowing him off. She is very confused right now and I really think if she listened to JC she would start to see the light. Can't wait for Friday's epi to see what happens at the jail.

Excellent recap, Bill.

Claudia's question to Modesto, "What did you sacrifice?", was very much on target. Interesting that he had no answer for her.

Fernando's not willing to sacrifice, either, it would appear. He's very stubborn so far.

Hated Eduardo's smirk of satisfaction. A fork to the face or any body part would be fine with me. A sharp fork, with multiple piercings.

Also looking forward to Helena's visit to the police station. A kiss followed by a slap should convince the law officers they have a relationship.

Thanks for the recap, Ithabill!

Bummer about Silvia. At first I thought Eduardo was giving her a look of love, but then I realized it was a look of "I knew you would be back." I can only hope she stands her ground on living her life.

Enjoyed the scenes with JC at the police station even though I didn't understand most of it. Loved the Claudia scene, too.

Looking forward to seeing Santi at the shoot with Angie. Should be interesting!

Ithabill- Many thanks for this recap and actually making me laugh at some of the stuff that frustrated me last night-- 1) Helena standing JC up; 2) Lucia playing at being Sandy at the end of Grease (never liked that ending); 3) Marcela looking like she actually felt guilty about not keeping up with the housework, while Feckless F**ker Fer does NOTHING; and 4) Silvia returning to Bastardo. As soon as I saw the vacuum cleaner, I changed the channel. I could not watch her debasing herself cleaning up his crap. I'm sure I would have felt the same about the fork in his smug mug. Ugh!

Really, the only good stuff was around Eugenia, who is finally taking a stand against Modesto. And it's catching on in that household-- Claudio was spot on in her question to Modesto. I could not believe he was going on about the immorality of show biz folk, when he was TWO families! At the same time!

Thanks again Bill.

Thank you for the recap! I, too, think that Eduardo needs to be forked. On another note, didn't Helena just move into a larger apartment so Silvia could have her own space? So, I guess Eduardo still comes first for poor Silvia even before consideration for her own daughter. I hope she continues going to her meetings. Marcela also needs a d-i-v-o-r-c-e ASAP. Fernando has gone over the cliff. I liked Claudia's insights into her family's dynamics and confrontation with Modesto. She is proving to be one smart chica. Maybe she will be an ally for Eugenia in the long run after she has tired of her nasty adolescent angst. Some one needs to figuratvely slap Lucia up side the head. Even if Renato were not gay, she is oblivious to the messages of disinterest he is sending her. Sounds like JC is really going to get slapped. I missed the promos for tonight.

Thank you for the great recap, Bill.

There is something to be said for a husband and wife who are each other's biggest fans. But in our story, uber-machos Ed, Fer, and Pluto don't just want fans. They want sycophants - a woman locked in the house all day, whose SOLE function is to serve and adore him. While he does nothing to reciprocate - his very presence is her only reward.

I sure am happy that the plot is progressing again!

Paula- Add Modesto to your list.

Bill- forgot to mention, loved the title for this recap. I like Donna Summer's music :)

DOH! It was Modesto who made me see the theme of men who want house-bound sycophants, and then I forgot to put him on the list! Thanks, Vivi.

I totally agree With Bill's interpretation of the preview for the next capitulo. A kiss followed by a slap will likely convince the keystone cops that Helena is JC's 'wife.' This should be fun.

We need some fun after that depressing vacuum cleaner scene with Sylvia and Bastardo. I just wanted to cry for Sylvia. I too wished Helena put up more of a protest when her mom said she was going back, but Sylvia's timing was awful. This wasn't a calm conversation over breakfast or on the couch in the living room. This was in the middle of moving to a new place in front of the kid and Pluty and maybe the baby sitter if I recall. Plus Helena is wearing 5 inch tacones at the time. Who moves their stuff into a new apartment wearing 5 inch heels? 5 inch heels on moving day??? I can't even *think* in 5 inch heels. I tried it once. They look awesome but my IQ drops At least 20 points when I'm wearing those things!

"They look awesome but my IQ drops At least 20 points when I'm wearing those things!" Too funny, Anon!

I just love how Pluto is losing ground with Helena almost every episode. Tonight's kiss at the police4 station will linger; it will leave an aftertaste that a whole bottle of Listerine can't remove. And just like eating a strawberry right after you brush your teeth, Pluto's kisses will be unbearably sour afterwards.

Great recap Ithabill.

Ditto to everybody's comments so far.

Sylvia kept trying to bring up this issue & Helena kept shutting her down. The timing is ridiculous since the new apartment is to have more room since she is living with them. But -- in our lives we sometimes go down to the wire before we make a decision. I'm looking forward to seeing how she deals with Bastardo. She's learned a lot from her CODA meetings. I hope she also keeps the job (if it's still available) I think that the first little smile on Eduardo's face was a bit affectionate -- but the smirk in the bedroom was all about control. -- But he's in for a surprise I think. Sylvia is going to be much harder to control than she was.

I thought that Lucia looked pretty hot in the tight jeans & the open down to here shirt. And she is hilarious when she tries the provocative poses.

Shame on Helena for standing up JC. But I can't wait to see the confrontation in the police station.

Loved the message that Mimi sent to Adri.

Ithabill - Thanks.

I too think Eduardo is in for a surprise. After working at the garden store and the group counseling, she has got to have more self-esteem than before.

I'm chiming in way late as usual, but just had thank Ithabill for another fine recap.

So, Modesto disapproves of actors because of their scandals. Ugh, I hope he dies of irony poisoning.

The look on his price when Claudia asked him what he had sacrificed was priceless.

So the police chief, or whatever he was... is that the same guy from Familia?? Talk about typecasting!

I also had to laugh when Juan panicked and said he was an architect. I'm surprised he didn't say his name was Art Vandelay.
