BAILEY's sighting last night!!!
And,,, it was not even on AdV. This one is waaay to weird:
Hubby and I were attending a work-related function. Cocktail hour was in the hotel lobby and one of those portable bars w/bartender was set up. Sitting on top, all by itself, at one end of the 4- or 5- foot long bar was . . . yep, a bottle of Bailey's. (I opted for the white wine)
I could not believe my eyes. My husband thinks there might be some sort of full-court-press product placement campaign by the folks at Bailey's. If so, it is not just in Mexico.

My wife is from a different culture. At an early age she was instilled with a different set of values than are sometimes considered ok over here. I know where the line is drawn. I don't always agree with it but I said "I do" and so I must respect her feelings or work out a compromise in advance.
Angel, you BIG IDIOT!!! You had PLENTY of warnings. You asked for World War 3 and you got it. You are about to destroy what was once a happly family.

Bringing Victoria to their home and putting her into their marital bed was a bad and dumb idea, I agree.

On the other hand, I hate to walk on eggshells just because a family member or friend of mine has a quick temper and an overbearing, insecure nature. I've done that all my life and I'm sick of it.

Respecting Cristina's feelings (= don't give her reasons to feel jealous and abandoned) is one thing and tolerating her temper tantrums (= it's not okay to bring WW3 into Meta Imagen just because she's pissed off at her husband and his boss) is another thing completely.
 

Ok, Y'all recap is finally up. Please enjoy, I tried to go easy on Cris,but sadly I failed. More later.
 

I think I saw Bailey's somewhere recently too, Doris. Is it a campaign on their part, or just heightened awareness on my part? Who knows?

As for Christina's melt-down last night.

I can see both sides. I agree with Aribeth, it's no fun working your life around the touchiness and whims of another person, who apparently won't be reasoned with and won't bend. But I agree with gringo too—Big Angel knew WAY AHEAD of time that this was probably pushing it too far. Sure, he knew that it was all innocent, but really. Another woman's perfume on a wife's pillow, and he expects no repercussions? Most wives (not just hypersensitive, hyperjealous ones like Chris) would have a problem with this.

Plus it's simply not necessary. There were things that could have been done to avoid it. Bring Thomasina over to stay with Victoria that night. Bring anyone over to stay with Victoria that night! Or at the very least, call up the wife and explain what's happening. Sure, she would have spontaneously combusted over the phone, but she couldn't say he was sneaking. But also, why did Victoria HAVE to stay there? HAVE to sleep in *that* bed?

Silly, silly, foolish man.

But again I think there's a limit to how much Big Angel has to tailor all his actions and his life around his crazy-jealous wife. She's got to bend a little. Working for a married woman who (up until recently) loved her husband should not be an issue, really. Especially when the daughter is working at the same estate and would be likely to 'pick up' on any affair-vibes (if they were happening). The daughter serves as a good chaperone, really. Chris needs to CALM DOWN.

But Vicki sleeping in Chris's bed? For crying out loud. That's just idiotic.

I missed some of what Nikki said to Guzmancito last night (when she was cooling down from her workout). I know she's 'putting him in his place' (and breaking his heart) but I missed some of the CCs and want to make sure I understood the whole thing.

Elvira: good analysis, thank you. And I agree on the idiotic part wholeheartedly. But if it hadn't happened, now we wouldn't have a big fat melodrama going on. :)

It'd be interesting to reverse the genders and imagine the scenes from the last episodes with characters called Ángela, Cristián and Victor.
 

Madelaine - Thank you for the recap. You had an action-packed episode to summarize! I think all our main characters had a Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day. Ticket to Australia, anyone?

I was actually surprised and relieved that Hurricane Cristina did not leave behind worse property damage to Vikki's office.

Jose Angel is like a big, sweet doofus idiot with terrible judgement and no common sense. Vikki is almost as bad in the common sense department, when it comes to JA.
Although I don't like her behavior at all, I am starting to feel some compassion for Cristina.

Anibal me da asco! What a pig. What a terrible father. Where are my lanza Nerfazos?

Kendra reminded me of Dr. F in Rocky Horror Picture Show, but with pantyhose instead of garters.

 

JA keeps telling his wife that there is nothing going on. He's way wrong. SOMETHING is going on, he just doesn't realize it yet. Because he loves his wife and is faithful, he has no clue that he is developing "feelings" for Vikki. Cristina's intuition is right on target, but she's a good example of the boy who cried wolf! Neither JA, Cris, nor Vikki realize that all these situations and reactions to the situations are whirling all three of them into an Abismo de Pasión! ;-)
 

Team Cristina all the way, including her rants and raves. JA has been with this woman for 20 years and absolutely KNOWS how she is. If I were him, there is NO WAY I would even suggest to my female boss to come to my apartment ... even if my wife were there, much less if she wasn't there. And Victoria? She's already been on the receiving end of some of the Cristina-thons to be stupid enough to agree to go there. She should have insisted upon going to a hotel and calling Tomasina to come be with her. After all, she's the boss. JA would've had to honor her wishes. Two supposedly intelligent (and really nice) people put themselves in this position and they deserve to suffer the brunt of Cristina's wrath. What is this, a telenovela? Oh, yeah, I forgot!
 

Thank you, Madelaine, for your funny and complete recap which I needed because my dog always needs to go out during this novela (I guess she's a tn critic.)

Furball and Anyballs are truly disgusting. Anyballs is without conscience in his personal and professional life (keeping Furball in the company despite his hurting his daughter) and without Vicky's wealth and position Furball wouldn't be getting anything extra especially with Kendho. That looks was not flattering on her and did look a little like she was in drag with all that makeup.

Angel is standing on stupid principal about Vicky staying in her own apt on her own bed but that really isn't going to make any difference with Chris. She isn't halfway reasonable as we see with her barging into Angel's place of work and creating a public display and besides there seems plenty of odd things for her to be suspicious about. I was really expecting Chris to run out into the street and get smacked by a bus. But it's too soon for Angel and Vicky to be together and don't know if that even happens in this novela.

Thanks so much for your fun and detailed recap, Madelaine. It sure was a dark and stormy night -- I don't blame you for reaching for the Bailey's.

I was quite surprised that Frankie didn't react at all when Nikki delivered her sarcastic litany of why he is such great boyfriend material (not!): he kissed her best friend, he's dating the maid, he's MARRIED ...

And then I was suprised that Nikki didn't react to his failure to react to her saying he was MARRIED. ¿Captas?

Still, Frankie sure leaned in close to say he was going to keep his distance.

BTW, I loved the way Nikki, at the end of her Frankie put-down mini-rant, says "¿captas?" (Got it?) and then a few beats later says "¿Sí me explico, no?" (Am I expressing myself clearly?) as if to translate from Fresa-speak to grown-up language.

There was something very sweet about the encounter between Angel and Adriana. Adriana defends herself but in the nicest possible way. And in the end, the conflict is defused and they part with a smile.

It was also nice to see Lili once again as The Wise Child who pauses to ask questions and get at the truth before letting loose with accusations.
 

Wonderful job Mads. Lots of fireworks last night. I don't see pointing out that Cris is acting like a crazy banshee means that I'm choosing sides or saying that JA should be with her over Cris. JA made a stupid decision to insist Vicky stay over. Vicky made a stupid decision to stay. And Cris is making a stupid decision to jump to conclusions without all the facts. If we are going to cut Cris some slack because she's emotional over an imagined infidelity by her husband, then I say we also have to cut Vicky slack n making a poor decision after seeing the very real deal.

When I saw JA bantering with Adri I thought uh oh, he has chemistry with all three sisters!

Madelaine - Friday's episode was a blast and so is your recap. Fantastic fun. One of my favorites: "...neva, eva be a naughty, furry boy again."

Gringo - ITA "An Oscar for Monika Sanchez."

The whole thing was so funny and so sad. In Cris' mind, her worst nightmare has come true. One of the things I like about Cris is her pride, so I wasn't surpised when she told Vickie if you want him so badly you can have him. But Cris is running on pure emotion. With Lili's help, her brain should kick in soon.

Liked Cris phoning Betty to apologize and let her know asap that she'd need a new place to stay. Surely it's time for Betty and Paula to come clean. Betty needs to stay in that secure building with her mother for protection from Leo.

Anibal keeps getting worse and worse. I'm disappointed he buckled to Nelson's 20 percent. I thought Anibal would fight more on Vickie's behalf. What a louse.

Hope Adriana gets with Vickie soon. Naturally she's focused on finding her daughter, but she needs to realize Vickie has problems too and could use a sister.
 

Round two---Aribeth, I understand some of what you said and I understand that personal arguements should not be tolerated in the workplace, but on the other hand---put yourself in Christina's shoes. This was not the first time that she had reasons to be suspicious. Then she goes away for a short time and when she gets back, smells another womans perfume on her pillow. Is she supposed to wait 3 or 4 days until her husband's day off to confront the situation? I don't think so.

A few years back, I had a similar situation--no it wasn't perfume on the pillow. Dumb innocent me agreed to help a co-worker for a couple maybe three hours on Saturday--nothing more, HONEST. She was not my type and I was not hers. I was just being Mr. Nice Guy. My big mistake was that I didn't tell my wife what was up. I didn't think that I was doing anything wrong. Just as dumb as Jose Angel I suppose. When my wife got the phone call Friday night that my co-worker was sick and that we should make it another time---well World War 3 lasted two days, OMG!!! It's a good thing that we have a house, if it had been an apartment, we would have been thrown out. I will never make a mistake like that again. Am I a whipped puppy? No but I understand this part of the novela very well and so again I say---Big Angel, you had plenty of warning, you BIG STUPID DUMMY you have probably destroyed twenty years of mirrage with that thoughtless act.
But I guess if everything went well, we woulden't have a novela.

Believe me that I understand how she feels. I also get that she has a temper, and if I was her I would've had a fight with the big guy, too. Not for the "cheating" (because I don't like to become a fool over false accusations) but for bringing a woman whom I can't stand (and he knows well enough that I don't like her) into our home behind my back.

I think she could've call him and ask him to go home asap/meet her in front of Meta Imagen.

I also speak from a personal standpoint, and "well World War 3 lasted two days, OMG!!!" isn't fun at all, especially for a child. My dad likes to pull a theatrical scene over things (he's a kind-hearted and intelligent guy otherwise but yeah, he's annoying sometimes :)), so no, I don't like "he/she is like that, the other parties should've been more careful because they know how he/she is" argument. I have a great, many decades long practice in understanding and tolerating that people have different tempers and views, but I still say: Cristina went overboard with her reaction.
However, I loved that she apologized to Bea. She's a nice woman when she isn't in Mrs. Hulk mode.

Good question, Aribeth. After all, we did have the similar situation with the Frankie/Salsero fistfight in the MI lobby over Frankie "manhandling" Bea.
 

I fully admit that I laughed at Cris shoving Angel aside in Vickie's office and elbowing him in the elevator. He's a big guy and clearly could overpower her physically if he wanted too. But the opposite way around wouldn't have been funny at all.

I've only been watching telenovelas a few years, but most women on Televisa telenovelas are not very physical. I enjoyed the few I've seen like Gaviota, and now Cris.

Also, Cris got up in Vickie's face but did not lay a hand on her. She did not slap anyone. Cris gestures were all about getting folks out of her way (and in Angel's case, for him not to touch her) but not to do bodily harm to them.
 

Actually I'm pretty sure I heard a slap when JA got in the elevator.

Seriously, that outfit was the worst ever. Poor Marjorie. (But fortunately she'd look good even in a sack.)

In the good old classic telenovelas there were so many slaps. I'll never forget the moment when María (Thalía) slapped that zorra Soraya Montenegro (played by Itatí Cantoral) around in María la de Barrio.
 

If she slapped him in the elevator, it was just to stop him from touching her. :D And the look on Betty's face when Cris and Angel were in the elevator was too funny.

Fabulous recap! Much work and dedication involved. Amazing acting by Monika Sanchez! I would have been just as furious and jealous as Chris, but I have a calmer, possibly more calculating nature, so I would have handled it differently. The last thing I would have done is visit in person the woman who was sleeping on or in my bed. I could not stand to look at her or be near her ever again. I would, however, rant and rave in front of my husband.

I've stated before Vicky is a total FLAKE; she means well, but she doesn't follow through. She doesn't want to be weak like her mother, but in many ways she is.
Nevertheless, I do give her credit for not giving in to Nihil-sone the other night. We'll see how that plays out.

Aribeth pointed out that Vicky's old boyfriend will be returning as a highly successful operator. It is natural to presume that she will be with him for a while before the ultimate pairing with the other FLAKE in the room,
JAA. Now, to make matters worse,
JA is going to the infamous hacienda with Vicky which Liliana will quickly find out. This entire scenario is not good.

I am not really interested in the romance between Guzmanzito and the brat. He's supposed to be a grownup, but he clearly is not thinking clearly and he's riddled with contradictions. On the one hand, he says he is supposed to have a professional relationship with her, and the next moment he is upset that she doesn't like him. Her character leaves me cold.

I am however interested in the romance between Bea and Salsero.
This is intriguing. Besides looking good together on the dance floor and offering us some great entertainment in that regard and the fact that he is really handsome, it will be interesting to see how his totally conniving, lying scumbag character can redeem himself so that Bea can have a good man at her side. The name Beatrice has great significance in literature
as an ideal woman.
 

And one more thing,

I find this part hilarious -
Bea's new job...definitely Baptism by Fire, Hurricanes, Tornados,Psunamis and much more. Phones ringing off the hook; people storming out of elevators,fights in the lobby and a possible romance to
boot. CLASH, CLASH, CLASH one after the other. She has definitely been blindsided by all this but is doing an excellent job
in trying to hold down the fort.
Very Funny.
 

Madelaine, appreciate your comment about the ancient Egyptians attributing intelligence to the heart, but lets face it the writer's of this TN are not using their minds or their hearts but are probably ruled by some other organ when they are writing this TN-Your recapping is magnificent, though.
I am having trouble accessing Caray Caray because it keeps telling me I need a RSS app. Anyone have a recommendation on which one? I have a Mac and use safari.
Can anyone tell me what the deal with Guzman's marriage is? I haven't been able to watch for awhile.

 

Emarie~~~ welcome back. On the sidebar Melinama put up some problems with Chrome. She recommends Internet Explorer or Firefox. There have been some problems with access this way with Chrome. I don't know if they ever had problems with MAC before.

About the Guzmi marriage. Nabila was snooping around in Guzmi's room and came upon a marriage certificate saying Guzmi had married in Reno, Nevada we don't know when to a woman named Amber. We have never seen her and he doesn't talk about her. He was in the States and went to a Military Academy and trained to be a bodyguard in the States. When his job was up in the States he came back to Mexico, and his wife didn't come with him.
 

Good Afternoon Y'all and thanks for all the comments, many indepth I must say. Thanks so much. Y'all are great! I guess there are now teams huh? Team Cris and Team Angel. Here is my take on the Angel and Cris.

While Angel should have known not to bring Ms Vikki home and most of you know he did it out of the goodness of his heart and his willingness to help someone in trouble. On the flip side I can see Cris' problem with Ms Vikki sleeping in her bed and not knowing what the hell happened but the obvious. Now that being said, Angel should have called Cris at the very least and told her what was going on. He knows that Cris can't stand Vikki and I think that is why he didn't call. Kinda out of sight out of mind. I'll bet he thought that by the time Cris and Lili came home Ms Vikki would be long gone, no harm, no foul. What he didn't count on was Pauwhiner, being the snoopy, snoop she is, seeing Ms Vikki and jumping to conclusions. Cris found out first because of the perfume and then Pauwhiner backs it up with the "evidence" so to speak.

Now in defense of the Angel, Cris knows he helps people in trouble. Remember in the beginning of this TN he saved Ms Vikki from those thugs and then stopped a robbery at that restaurant. She should have thought of this too, but no, her jealousy overran her good sense. I don't hate Cris by the way, I think she has major jealousy issues and if she hopes to keep the Angel, she needs to either get help or realize who her husband is. Jus' sayin'.

Ms Vikki some of you think is a dimwit, I beg to differ. I don't think this woman is a dimwit at all. She stands up for herself against her dominating Papa, she stood up to philandering Nilson, too bad she doesn't know it's Kendho he was messin'with, she would have thrown the ho out on her ear. Ms Vikki is alot like the Angel. She sincerely wants to help people. Maybe she is like Angel too and goes about it the wrong way, but her intentions are good. But this woman is definitely not a dimwit.

Aniballs needs to stop dominating people. Let Nilson sell those 20% stock shares, even if it is to Odious Odio. 20% ain't all that. Now fifty that would be bad. Aniballs, I am sure is the majority stockholder, and who's to say that Odio wouldn't find some other way of gettin' that stock. Nilson has got to go. He is only with Vikki for the status, money and control, such as it is. He could care less about his daughter and surprisingly he really could care less about Kendho. Kendho is just his sex machine, nothing more. The only one Nilson cares about is himself.


 

Betty and Salsero I really like. I know he is a bad guy, but I have to say all in all, Kendho is far worse. I think that Salerso will be redeemed somehow some way.

I am liking Lili more and more. I like her twinges of esp as far as her Papa goes. She always knows when something is wrong, but what I like about her best is her sensiblity. The girl has tons of common sense and likes to hear EVERYTHING,before she comes to a conclusion about what she hears from someone else. Very sensible, not like her Mama, jus' sayin'. I like how Angel looked her right in the eye, face to face, and told her he would NEVER cheat on her Mama and that he would love her till the day he died. He is very sincere about that. As far as these "feelings" he has for Ms Vikki? I think it is friendship, truly. I know sometimes they stand way too close to each other, but there hasn't been anything between them except a true and abiding friendship. I sometimes wish Televisa wouldn't show the couples they do in the intros to the show. It spoils and predestines how we think about some of these "couples".

Pauwhiner is DEAD TO ME. Unless something changes on Monday, as it stands now, Pauwhiner is taking in Cris and Lili and what about her daughter Betty and her grandson Guillo? If she kicks Betty and Guillo to the curb just to keep her dirty little secret about being Betty's and Frankie's Mama she should rot in hell. Oh, and by the way I think Pauwhiner told Cris about Ms Vikki sleeping in the bed to get back at Ms Vikki not to hurt Cris. PauWhiner never seemed to realize she would be hurting Cris, Angel, Lili, Bea, Guillo. The only one Pau really loves is herself, she is much like Nilson. If she can't have what SHE wants, noone else will either, that's her mantra.

As far as Frankie and Nikki go, I'm on the fence. They are like oil and water. I think Nikki is too young, maturity wise, for him. I really like Adri and I think Adri and Guzmi would be more suited. Nikki has so many issues, I don't know if Frankie would like to deal with them all. I know he wants to help her with the bulimia and its a start, but then there are all her other issues. We'll have to wait and see with them.

Love Polita but she is gonna get hurt. I wish they would find someone else for her. Polita is a little dreamer and maybe by the end of this TN she will have one of her dreams come true, but it won't be Guzmi, I don't think.

Sorry to be so long winded, just wanted to say what was on my mind.

There is a big difference between DIMWITS and FLAKES. Vicky is a FLAKE
in my humble but fierce opinion and so is JA.

Oh, and about Cris invading the workplace, yeah if it had been say Antolin, de la Vega, Franciso de la Vega and Regina and de la Vega would trash the office, well then security would have been called and he would have been thrown out on his ear, or hauled off to the hoosegow. Cris really went overboard here. She should have called Angel to meet her at the apartment, Ms Vikki has never been stingy about his time off, or if he needs to go somewhere, or had him meet her in front of Meta Imagen or a park, anywhere but the work place. That was over the top. She had no right to go to his workplace and cause such a rukus. I know she wanted to confront Ms Vikki face to face, but this was so not the way to do that. If it had been real life she would have been hauled off. It seems to me what is lacking in Cris and Angel's marriage is TRUST. Angel trusts her, but not the other way round. She doesn't trust him at all. Like Marta said, Cris is gonna drive herself crazy. And she also doesn't listen, Angel told her the truth, she didn't listen and just wants to beleive what she wants to beleive. What I see of Cris right now is it's all about Cris, just like her Daddy Aniballs. Cris could have called Ms Vikki too and set up a meet, cause that was the whole objective of her little visit, anyhow. Cris hates her so bad, without really knowing her. Also some of you mentioned Tomi spending the night too in the apartment. Cris is mad at Tomi too, cause Cris thinks Tomi painted that pic of the Angel. She considers her a husband stealer too. If Tomi had been there too, it would have been just as bad.
 

Nelson and Anibal are two peas in a pod. They are both self-centered, selfish, egotistical, lying, chauvinistic, emotionally abusive control freaks. (and some day I'll tell y'all what I really think about them -LOL) The only big difference is that Anibal has the financial power that Nelson lacks.
 

Great recap Madelaine, thanks! Ms Sanchez does deserve some award for playing the most annoying character in this novela. I agree with Aribeth and Elvira. I think Christina's childish tantrums are dreadful. Angel's stupid behavior doesn't justify much worse behavior by Christina. She pushed Angel to take the job because she saw big money in it. Then, when he actually has to do his job, she doesn't like it. She continually shows up at his place of employment, making accusations, screeching demands and making a general ass of herself. The employers have been more than patient and tolerant of her selfish behavior. Besides being overbearing, insecure and rude, she is emotionally immature. Other than that, she's had a few moments of non-delusion.

You really made me laugh for several minutes when you wrote

Most people will agree that women are not the strongest physically but they do/really know how to fight.

Thanks Madelaine, very excellent and humorous recap. What a week!!! I can just say that I am not with Team Chris even if I am married to my husband of 45 years. hers is 20 years? She should have more confidence and be sure of her husband. I think she lacks class. Thanks, Madelaine. I agree that Big Angel was not using his brain when he took Miss Vikki home and let her sleep in THE BED. However, this is a novela, and Big Angel is staying true to form. Chris will also never change her stripes. I can relate to feeling jealous of a big, strapping hubby whom other women appreciate, but Chris has got to get some anger management advice. Will that happen...no. Wouldn't it be fun if another sister entered the race for Big Angel ?
 

Cris is volatile but a sweet person. Despite her jealous rages, I like her. Vickie is more measured and mature. I like her too. I actually sympathize with both women. They both make wacky TN mistakes that make for good cliffhangers.

For me Cris going off at the office not only made for good TV but also may take her to a point where she rethinks her actions, with Lili's help - because worrying about Angel being unfaithful with Vickie has had absolutely no bearing on what he does. So why waste her time with it. Her separating from him could help her figure out things better.

Vickie has the luxury of going out to the hacienda and Tomasina's counsel to figure out her next step. I can't see her sharing a bed with Nelson ever again, despite Anibal telling her to keep him. I wish Vickie would hire a private detective to track him, because KendaHo is not going to let up on him.

So true, the poor woman has been cheated on by the snake, er furry hubby of hers, and for him to act like Mr Jealousy is beyond the pale. I am very happy she stood up to him and demanded a divorce. Good for her! I just hate that her whole life is falling apart. She still has to find out and deal with Nikki's bulimia, she is dealing with dear ole horrid Dad, the woman sure has a full plate. I really like the way she is handling herself. She is one strong woman as the Angel told her. She has been through so very much in the short time this TN has been on. I think this is why she leans on the Angel so much. They have been there for each other thru thick and thin. He saved her, she saved him. I think he knows how she feels and what she wants way better than her Horrid Dad and Nilson Furminator combined. The only one that knows her better is Tomi. Vikki sees Angel as a good advisor and close friend. He builds her confidence where Nilson and Aniballs try to push her down emotionally. This can be dangerous territory though and they could both easily cross the line. We will have to wait to see what transpires after this debacle.
 

I believe the rabbit stew comment referred to "Fatal Attraction" where the obsessed, discarded lover stalked the guy and his family and cooked the family pet, right?
 

Friday night was really something, this one just isn't going to die. Two and a half days later and comments are still comming in. I have never commented four times before but I'm obsessed with this novela now for sure.

but as SusanLynn said, she could
use anger management lessons.
Another candidate for those lessons is Guzmancito. He appears to have a lot of pent up rage.

I think Vicky should have gone straight to her house and forbid Nihil-sone from entering...and quickly changed the locks thereafter. She had bodyguards to protect her if necessary. She had every right to do that. It's her family home. This was where she was weak and not thinking clearly.
This is what a strong, decisive woman could have done. She did nothing wrong. It was not her place to leave. She did not need to slink around at a hotel or an apartment. In some novelas, they burn the beds or traces of all things ugly. The next day, she could have thrown out the marriage bed and remodeled her bedroom. Furthermore, why leave Nihil-sone in the house while she's at the hacienda? He doesn't belong there. Before she went home, she could have stopped at a cafe and had some Baileys to calm down for about an hour or so.

Just as with Chris, it would have been far more appropriate for Vicky to discuss her problems with Fur Ball at the house instead of at the office. As has been discussed, private matters should remain private. She should have thought of that before going to the office, and she should have made a point to be the first person to bring this matter up. She deliberately avoided going home to face this problem, so naturally, it had to be faced at the office. I do not
look on her actions in this case
as that of a strong woman.

I do like Vicky. I think she is kind and considerate, but I do not like how she often needs a man's shoulder to cry on. Many married women have husbands who travel and are not around in time of need so to speak, and many women are not married at all. I prefer to see strong women who can handle their problems alone without a man, whether they are married, have a significant other or no one. I AM WOMAN. HEAR ME ROAR!

Floridia~~~~ I understand where you are coming from. The only close friend that Ms Vikki seems to have is Tomi. I know we have heard alot about Jocelyn but haven't seen her yet. I think maybe Ms Vikki wants a male's point of view, or the male perspective so to speak. They DO have an affinity that Ms Vikki doesn't seem to have with Tomi and also they are in the same situation right now. Cris wants to seperate for what she THINKS is going on, Ms Vikki cause Nilson cheated on her. They are both heartbroken right now and leaning on each other. There is truly nothing wrong with that, as long as they don't cross that line. As I said before Angel saved her from those thugs, Ms Vikki saved him from that tree, in doing so she overcame her fear of water. This is what ties the two of them together. Plus Angel saved Ms Vikki at the mall from those thugs and Ms Vikki called the ambulance after the beat down from Kendho. I think it is the Chinese that have the saying,if you save someone's life you are responsible for that person. Just a thought. That is what I meant about the leaning. Also they have incredible trust which is lacking in both their marriages. That really is the crux of the issue, to me anyway. There must be trust, or there isn't much of a marriage.
 

Yes, "Fatal Attraction" reference! Kendra is as scary as the Glenn Close character was in FA.

Vicky comes off a llorona sometimes but judging from the fact that before Arriaga she had only three important men in her life (Aníbal, Nelson and that mysterious Carlos), and two of these men are proven to be selfish douchebags, I highly doubt she ever had a male shoulder she could cry on. :)

Actually, for me it seems that despite the soft, naive and sometimes week appearance, Victoria is exactly that type of woman who learned to handle her problems on her own. She may have Tomasina's moral support and an extremely rich family, but in the end of the day she's the one who runs at least 60-70% of the family business, kicks Nelson's butt, fights the archenemy Odiodette valiantly, tells her father to keep his mistress away from her family and tries to make reason with the young woman who was spoiled rotten by her father and husband.

Meta Imagen is her propierty and she discussed the situation with the Furminator behind closed doors, so I don't have many problems with her going to the office first.

I see your point - and it seems Victoria prefers avoiding conflicts. Sometimes it's a good, wise thing, sometimes it's bad and cowardly. In the Furminator's case she chose the calmer, more dignified path. She didn't freak everyone, including her daughter out with a huge melodramatic scene, and she didn't give a great topic of gossip to every servant, neighbour and their grandfather in the district. I hope she won't take Nelson back because that would be... ewwwwwwwww.

I thought that Nikki was was very straightforward with Frankie on Friday. She admitted her attraction to him and listed a number of reasons (none of which he refuted) of why it wouldn't work for them.

I thought for a moment Friday that Cristina was going to dash out into the traffic thus eliminating our need to take sides in this little triangle. I literally held my breath as it looked as though she was going to cross that busy street.

If Vikki agrees to take Nelson back at Anibal's insistence, Nelson will become almost bulletproof.

Poor Betty, Cristina took her and Guillo in and now has kicked them out. How gallant of Salsero to offer to help out.

The Lovely Linda actually bought some Baileys for me on Sat. I had forgotten how tasty that stuff really is.

Madelaine: I've been watching on and off for a while. I think this was the first complete episode I saw.

I also saw the Azteca version so I know how the main storylines develop. But, there's been lots of changes in several characters, most notably Guzmán, so I think his storyline in particular might bring some surprises.

By the way, the actress who played Miriam in Amor Bravío played the Kendra role in the Azteca version and I can't remember having seen her in her underwear for the role, lol.

Gringo: I understand how you feel taken with the character, it's happened to me in the past in other telenovelas or tv series. I must confess too that I'm particularly sensitive to yelling and demostrations of extreme anger, so that does affect my perception of the character.

Carlos~~~~ Good point about Nikki, but we all know her and Guzmancito are so denying things to themselves, but Nikki really has to grow in maturity before it will ever work for them. I love Baileys. I have always had a bottle around my home and when I saw it in this TN it was a surprise.

Jarocha~~~~ I am so glad you are watching this one. It is a fun TN over all. I can't imagine Lissette in the role of Kendra. I last saw her in PVAA I catch Amor Bravio once in a while : )

JA is making mistake after mistake. None deliberate, none cruel, but certainly not thought out. Cris' jealousy is unabated and I think at this point, nothing is going to extinguish the flames that she herself has fanned.

Madelaine, you outdid yourself. What a wonderful way to start the workweek. This was sensational.
