Amor Bravío #104 (Uni 99) Mon 1/14/13
Labels: bravio
This was a great episode, but my goodness what took Osvaldo so long to get to Camilia's house?
Dante. Potential suitor for Miriam if she lives? She gets happiness and Mariano gets Teresa. win win. sort of.
Kelly
I don't like his comment about pending business with Camila.
Someone who commented the other day is watching the rerun of Abrazame Muy Fuerte in which Cesar Evora plays another villain who lusts for a stepdaughter... but one he knew from birth. As creepy as El Diablo is, Federico is creepier.
I'm with you, Kelly, on the potential for Dante and Miriam. Teresa would be very good for Mariano.
I agree on the potential Dante/Miriam love connection. I had thought maybe Mariano and Miriam, but now that Dante's got an unrequited love, that definitely sits better in my mind.
Gussie's finally starting to react to Dio's callous cruelty. It was tiny, but I liked it! Also, loved the rancheros! Que lealtad!
Watching Bercerra reminded me of when Daniel left the hospital without his meds. I hope that he gets them soon...
Did these things bother/worry anyone else?: (1) Daniel was kind of an ass to Rosario. I get that he doesn't and probably never will forgive Alonso, but geez, do you need to cut apart the woman's few memories of her son? Weren't they bittersweet enough? (2) Nat had a reasonable reaction to Amanda's revelations, but when she said "lo abandonaste?!" I started to worry. I would prob have said the same thing, because hey, maybe my dad was an international spy saving the world and you never gave him a chance to explain, but as far as the evidence shows he hasn't done anything illegal, so she could still be swayed to the dark side...
Wow, I didn't think Isa would get booted out so quickly....hope this is the beginning of a long, painful road downhill for her...and please don't forget Dio. They need to sweat miserably and for a long, long time:)
UA, as soon as this very interesting episode ended I couldn't wait to get my hands on the recap. I knew you'd fill in the blanks with excellent detail. Thanks.
With so many episodes to go, It's hard to believe that Cami recovers the ranch so soon. There has to be more than what's meeting the eye.
Tomorrows epi should be just as interesting because there are a few sub plots that left us hanging.
Brava, Gussie! It's about time she's throwing it back at him a little...although she did fix him breakfast. Too bad she didn't spike it. That would have been my move.
ALL of you recappers...thank you so much from all of us out here who don't even have access to Univision.
Thank you, thank you.
I was on the edge of my chair reading this! Believe me when I tell you that even though this novela is good and so different from the norm that you recappers are BETTER than watching it.
I had the good fortune of seeing an episode the first week in January while visiting a friend in California. I was disappointed that it was NOT as good as what I read here. I know...crazy, but I don't mind now not seeing it as the reading is so much more fun!
Thank you Urban Anthropologist!!
Kelly, I loved your suggestion about Dante winding up with Miriam. That seems like the perfect solution, since she's very likely still alive, and that would present immense complications for Dan. Clearly Dan has to be with Cam, and Teresa is Mariano's former/future novia. Of course, there still is the problem of Miriam regarding Dante as just a friend, but....
I'm still marvelling over the different pacing of this TN in comparison to almost all the others I've seen. Is it really possible that Isadora will be thwarted so quickly? Probably not permanently, but still, even a temporary thwarting is much more satisfying than months of unending viewer frustration. I love it!
I was a bit annoyed with Dan too, but I understand that we know Chayo is a good person. Considering all that's happened, it's not surprising that Dan would be suspicious of anyone who comes out of the woodwork who's connected to Al, Isa, or Dio.
Plus, Dan has always been a skeptic-- remember how he drove us crazy when he refused to believe Camila wasn't the evil mastermind of Miriam's shooting. His main criticism of Camila is that she's too trusting. They balance each other out.
So Dante loved Miriam...that makes things interesting. I still like how he and Teresa look together, and they seem to be developing a nice friendship. The guy who called Abe not only gave him the update, but also said, "I told them what you told me to say." So Abe (and Miriam) might have actually been in the country house recently, but Abe has obviously moved them once he learned someone from Mexico was asking questions.
HellaShelle- Yeah, I did sense some trouble with Nat's response. Like, "How could you leave my father, without even letting him explain?" Then her last shock that her dad is nearby, after Amanda said the last place she thought she would run into him again is Aculco. Can't wait to see the rest of her reaction tonight.
Which he won't because they will be in a precarious legal position over this. They're in way too deep.
Remember also that Leoncerdo can still rat them out over Padre Baldomero once Aaron begins teaching him to read and write.
It’s funny, because that’s exactly what the audience thinks—being that most of us are not a part of the fighting bull ranching world, and wouldn’t think of putting photos of our favorite bulls all around our houses. But it was cold to also burn the family pics and things like the plaque from Don Dan’s homage.
I hope that the previews are deliberately misleading and that the workers were able to prevent the burning of the stuff.
I am considering watching online. Hard to wait to see what happens.

I was surprised to see that Cami's about to get back the ranch. This changes of my sense of where we are moving -- but, heck, what I like about this novela is that you never know.
I get a kick out of the way that Isadora adjusts her voice and demeanor before talking to old-fool Cayetano. His reaction to the selling of the bulls suggested that maybe the neighbors weren't going to be real happy with a change in course at Malquerida.
I am wondering whether Pablo and Luzma are going to wed any time soon. It's a bit of a teaser-- discussed every day, but we never quite get there. Not that a wedding would have fit into last night's action!
I agree that Isadora will go after Camila. I agree, too, that she doesn't really care a fig for Dio, but she likes control as well as money. Camila is an obstacle to both.
Great comment, Vivi, about the audience and the bull -stuff. I love the novelas that take us into a world of production of some kind, e.g., tequila and La Mentira and again, I think, in DA. Never knew what agave was until I watched la Mentira.
This could provoke a fight between her and El Diablo, but there will be worse to come between them. Right now I'd also be concerned about Rosario. She might be safer in the women's prison as long as Hissadora is at large.
Under the heading of All Things Considered, I think Daniel's suspicion is understandable. He's been through so much crap because of Alonso he can't help but suspect that the man might have had another kind of agenda.
Finally, having seen a bullfight, I am not sure how I feel about it. I did see a matador get gored and was relieved to see the newspaper article the next day that he survived, but I do not credit Hissadora with outrage over this particular activity. She is a classless bitch who would insult anything and anyone that doesn't bow down to her.
Wow. All that last night and we still are waiting for Nat to find out who her father really is. Can't wait!
I have to admit that the first thing I'd do if La MQ were mine, is get rid of the bulls heads and bull pictures and anything to do with bull fighting. That all makes me sick.
Padre's reaction in the confessional to Rosario was surprising. I thought he'd be more compassionate and not that angry.
So the paper in the envelop was the deed to Malquerida. I was hoping that there would be more, like a letter saying it was Isadora who pushed his car over the cliff, the link to his email that has the conversation recording on it, and anything else he knows about Isa and Dion.
Just because Isa is kicked out of Malquerida, if she hasn't been arrested, she will continue to do her dirty deeds. So need to fret about this happening so soon. We have yet to get the autopsy report on the padre and Leon learning to read and write.
And don't forget that Dion has yet to be found out too. What will the investment partners do now that Isa can't sell it?
There is so much still to be worked out.
Alonso, Ximena and padre's deaths.
Alonso's email to be discovered.
Dion's illegal activities.
Leon's tongue cutting.
Pablo and Luzma getting married.
Luzma having the baby.
Abraham's and Miriam's whereabouts.
Dan and Cam getting married, and Dan still being married.
Viv and Rafa getting married, and possible adoption of Roman.
Dion still wanting to have Camila.
Aggie learning about Dion.
Cayetano and Isa, Isa telling Cayetano about Rocio and Don Dan.
Cayetano learning that Pablo is son of Don Dan.
Where is new girl?
Mariano finding true love.
So we still have much that needs to be worked out before we are through here.
Al did already tell Juarez that Isa tried to kill him, so the ball is already rolling on that. It just needs to be proved that she did it.
I don't like the character even though she is well played by the actress, but I'd like to kick Gussie's rear end out the door.
Dio is getting more flagrant in his abuse of her. Do you think he will slip and Camila will see it in real time?
Abismo really was abysmal. No, it was downright bad.
Sorry for the OT random thought.
I wonder if there will be any significance to Os not taking his meds. Really he could have swallowed them down in the time it took to argue with Amanda about it.
HellaShelle - ITA on Daniel and Nat. Rosario's story of being raped, having her baby taken away, and not seeing him again until he's an adult quadriplegic begging for death is so sad, that Daniel seemed a bit of a bully. Rosario is short and so humble in demeanor and was seated while Dan is strapping and was standing at times, making him seem even more the bully. I understand his skepticism but it wasn't pretty.
I've always thought Amanda's story of fleeing with the baby after finding a load of fake passports was extreme. The only thing that would make most women flee like that would be violence or abuse, which there wasn't. It's not like she found out her husband was a hit man. She couldn't have been that much in love with Hector to leave without first asking him what's up. I couldn’t blame Nat if she thinks this way.
Hurrah for Gussie standing up to Dio a bit. She's got her limits.
So Teresa won't find love in Chile after all. Whoohoo for Mariano.
Hissadora's pants are just another example of her getting too overconfident.
Of course I was down the rabbit trail thinking the will just named his heir as his "Madre" and that Chayo was going to get to oust Isadora and become la patrona, at least for a while.
Lovely recap. Thanks for the extensive detailing of Rosario's, itself excruciatingly detailed, story. I know that without this blog, first I'd have never followed her story and second, wouldn't have already been aware of pretty much everything she had to say thanks to perceptive analysis and explanation along the way.

I forgot to add to the list for things still to happen,
Yago, Nat and Rodolfo story line and who ends up with whom.
I wasn't put out by Dan's skepticism over Rosario's story. He has no reason to think that Al didn't kidnap Camila. He even talked to Al on the phone about it twice so why would he think that Al wasn't behind it? Even if Al signs over Malquerida to Cam, it doesn't prove that Al wasn't behind the kidnapping. The only proof that he wasn't is the recorded conversation on Al's email.
Kelly - I really like your coupling idea I just don't know how it can happen b/c of Dan & Miriam's marriage. I guess since it wasn't a Catholic Church wedding, the divorce won't matter.
While I understand Dan's skepticism, I too thought he was harsh w/weepy Rosie.
All through the Cam/Dan/Padre/Rosario scene I was distracted waiting for Os to show up. When he left Amanda’s, he looked like he was at death’s door. He seemed to recover nicely once he arrived at Cam/Dan’s place. Rosario was looking a little sly when Os came in with the documents.
I am beyond surprised that Isa did not inhabit LMQ for very long (according to the avances). I think the big roadblock in the story is going to be Miriam’s return.
I didn’t even think of Dante for Miriam until you all commented. Of course, that works. Dante/Miriam, Mariano/Teresa. Or they could do a complete 180 and have Mariano/Miriam and Dante/Teresa. This TN is not following the usual rules—at least ones I’m used to seeing.

Thanks cathyx for the list of unresolved issues, Luzma having the baby will be a vexing time. After her abuse I'm wondering if the writers will venture into her emotional state and how she handles intimacy with Pablo. I'm also dying for Rodolfo to be taken out of his misery and or Natalia to wake up.
Thanks again for the recap.

Vivi: I see your point about Dan’s reaction to Rosario.
Cathyx: Good point about the other things Al could have told Rosario. Maybe she isn’t finished spilling it to Cam/Dan. Of course, Al was in agony about his situation and his betrayal of Cam, so he may not have thought about those other things. His concern was to get LMQ back to Cam. And Isa inheriting nothing re: Al’s will, because Al had nothing. Great.
Do you thing now that Isa doesn’t have LMQ that she’ll ramp up the seduction of Cayetano?
Personally, I can't fault Amanda for running when she saw the multiple passports. Asking questions about what that meant could have led to something she didn't want to face. For all she knew he could be more than a grifter.
Prediction: The bigamous situation of El Diablo / Amanda / Augustina is the precursor to Daniel / Miriam / Camila. Of course we have to hope that the first one comes to light before the second one happens.
Isa is so mean, but sometimes so funny with her sarcastic looks and remarks and snapping of her fingers, "Oh, poor sweetheart, you can only hold one photo at a time," she was snarkily commenting on their slowness and unwillingness to do her bidding.
What Rodolfo told Eleuterio was to stall in bringing the gasoline while he contacted Daniel.
New girl? Where are you, NG? Were you just a red herring?
Vote me in as one who thought Dan was annoying with Rosario. Yes, I know that there are plenty of potential snakes in the grass, but 1.)she went to confession for crying out loud and was at their house because she actually did what the Padre told her to do and 2.) if he had listened fully, she would have gotten to the proof of her credibility which was to deliver the news that Al gave the ranch back to Camila out of his love for her.
Cayetonto, perfect apodo! Lets add one more tweek.. CaerTonto....
Boy, was I ever wrong about Alonso. Not only did he see to details before checking out, it looks as though he tied things up with a pretty bow. Good work, Alonso, you are a credit to your phylum.
Interesting how things turned out. Don Dan willed MQ to young Dan who signed it over to Alonso who has now signed it over to Camila. Things generally happen in TNs for a reason.
I'm looking for Natalia to sign back up (at least for a time) with Daddy.
Carlos
Except of course in the Dio/Amanda/Gussy triangle only one of those women actually want the man, and his first marriage might not be valid anyway since we and Amanda don't know if Hector Gutierrez was even his real name.
How did that document get into Al's hospital room anyway?
Whatever the writers did to her in the end I hope it's adequate.
Vivi, I'm going to bet that "Dionisio Ferrer" isn't his real name either. However, that doesn't invalidate a US marriage.
Whether he was married before Amanda we have yet to discover. Whether Amanda divorced him after running from him we don't know. The only way she could have and been able to avoid him all these years would have been if his signature was not required.
I doubt she would have taken the risk of him finding her.
In either case I suspect that he gave her a false name, so the marriage was never legal in the first place.
If he was never married under whatever his real name is, he is now legally married to Augustina because a fake name doesn't invalidate the marriage in the US. The marriage could be annulled on grounds of fraudulent representation but I doubt that Augustina would do that. She'll just think up another excuse for him.
