Amor Bravío #104 (Uni 99) Mon 1/14/13

Capitulo 104:    Confessions, Tyranny, and Mutiny

Lo del Pasado

Augustina asks Judith about the lack of photos in the house; Camila calls Augustina to tell her that the accident wasn't an accident.  Rosario cries in the church as she remembers Alonso and declares that the evil ones must pay.  Padre Anselmo hears Rosario's confession and realizes she is talking about Alonso Lazcano.

Lo de Nuevo

Confessional Booth:  Rosario explains that she recognized Alonso and that Hissadora originally asked her to euthanize him. She had refused until he asked her. Padre Anselmo tells her that the only being permitted to take life is God; he can't pardon her or give her absolution until she turns herself in.  She must be prepared to take the consequences of her actions.

Townhouse:  Camila is feeling bad after having heard that the accident wasn't an accident. Before she and Daniel can talk much about this Mariano and Pablo arrive to tell her about Hissadora's order to sell off the herd after delivering the fighting bulls that have already been contracted for. Camila is not pleased to hear this.

School Grounds:  Luzma invites her teacher to her wedding and asks for a couple of days off for her luna de miel. The teacher agrees conditionally.

Townhouse:  Mariano says he will make an offer to buy the bulls if Camila will agree to be the vet at La Buenaventura. She agrees and she and Daniel explain about the tourist trap Hissadora and El Diablo want to make of La Malquerida. She is relieved that Mariano is willing to maintain the herd.

Bulls running to the singing of Don Vicente [¡Salud!]

Full Moon

El Diablo's Lair:  El Diablo arrives to find Augustina sitting alone in the dark. He asks why and she explains that Camila called to tell her that it was discovered that the automobile accident was provoked. And it wasn't Alonso committing suicide, either. That another car was used to push his car over the cliff and this must be investigated. He is much too dismissive of her anxiety, shock, and grief, going on about how it would have been an enemy of Alonso and her feelings are useless because no matter what nothing can bring Ximena back. She is too shocked to reply. He takes a breath, tells her he's tired, and orders her to prepare him some dinner while he is bathing so that he can eat before retiring. He leaves her alone in the living room without a single word or gesture of comfort. She sits back on the couch and almost cries out in frustration.

The Following Morning

La Malquerida, Dining Room:  Hissadora is having breakfast when Piedad comes in with the phone, telling her that Señor Albarrán wishes to speak with her. She dismisses her before speaking to him. He talks about her selling the herd and is rather surprised about this. She explains she got an offer for the ranch and she will consider it since she knows nothing of ranching or bull breeding. He points out that selling a ranch like La Malquerida to someone who isn't interested in bulls will not be optimum, but she says something about selling it to an investor who made a good offer. After all she has bills and a loan to pay. He says he understands and offers any help she might need, but it looks as though he is getting a little suspicious.

Townhouse:   Daniel hangs the portrait in the living room. Camila feels like she is letting her tio down. Daniel tells her it isn't her fault, that Hissadora is the most evil woman he has ever met, he believes her responsible for the automobile accident, and that they will continue to fight her because the battle has only just begun. Camila is determined that justice be done. They embrace.

Flamenco music and a close-up of Don Daniel's portrait.

Becerra's Office:  Marguerita opens the envelope left by Rosario and hurries out the door.

El Diablo's Lair:  He starts to make a phone call, then notices the wedding photo Augustina placed on the sideboard the day before. He is not pleased, aborting the call to pick it up. Augustina enters to tell him that breakfast is ready. He turns to her asking “What is this?” Of course we could have anticipated this from the previous day's conversation she had with Judith on why there were no photos in the house. He tells her that it's because he doesn't like having photos in the house and yells multiple times that she is not to do anything like this without his permission. He then tells her he will be going out and not returning until evening. She then tells him she will be out as well to visit Camila, who surely will be glad to see her. He tells her sarcastically to enjoy herself, then exits. She manages somehow to maintain her dignity this time. [Padre Anselmo, get ready.]

La Malquerida, Parlour:  Hissadora looks at the mounted head of a bull, then turns around to see Piedad, Dorotea, and Rodolfo. Not content with having removed all photographic evidence of the Monterdes, she now demands the removal of “todos los ridiculezes”, meaning the bullfight posters, the photos of the bulls, the mounted heads, etc. She tells them to put everything out on the patio near the fountain, and then orders them to make her coffee.

Hostal:  Osvaldo is breakfasting with Amanda, who suddenly remembers it's time for his medication. She runs upstairs to get it when Marguerita arrives with the envelope. She tells him he must read the document. He looks at it.  She tells him someone left it under the door.

Townhouse:  Padre Anselmo arrives with Rosario, who wants to meet with Camila and Daniel. He introduces her and she tells them that in addition to having been Alonso's nurse during his last days she is his birth mother. Camila is impactada.

Chile, an unknown distance from Santiago

Farcas Fortress:   Dante and Teresa arrive to find some closed gates and nobody in sight. Teresa asks a passerby if he knows the Farcas family. He explains he does, but he hasn't seen any of them in over a year. He thinks the house is empty. Teresa thanks him and he leaves. Dante says that Miriam loved the house and speculates that since Miriam died Abraham didn't want to go near the property. Teresa asks what Miriam was like and he tells her that she was very beautiful, sweet, affectionate, good, and intelligent. The way he says she had a beautiful smile inclines us to think he once had romantic interest in her. Teresa thought so, too, and asks. He explains that he did see her in that light but she didn't return his sentiment. He and Daniel had met her at the same time and it was Daniel she fell in love with. He never mentioned his feelings to Daniel because they were best friends, like brothers, and he would never have said or done anything to hurt him. He believed that Miriam and Daniel were very happy together. Teresa agrees to keep that secret.

Hotel Room, location unknown:  The passerby calls Abraham to report that two people enquired about him. Abe asks if he found out their names and he said he didn't ask. Only that the woman “isn't from around here” and that she had a Mexican accent. Abe ends the call realizing that this must be the lawyer he was told about.

Hostal Amanda:   Amanda comes back with the pills, but Osvaldo has gotten up from the table. He tells her to call Daniel and tell him not to leave the house; he has to see him right away. He tells Marguerita there is no time to lose as he exits. He doesn't look well.

Townhouse:  Rosario explains that she had worked for Eleazar Lazcano, who raped her when she was little more than a child. When she ended up pregnant he told her not to worry; he would care for the child as royalty... without explaining that he would take the baby away from her and give it to his future wife because Alonso was not going to grow up as the child of a servant. Daniel is putting the pieces together, realizing that the “future wife” was Hissadora. Rosario explains that she didn't know how Hissadora came to marry Eleazar, but yes, she did and was to take care of Alonso as though he were her own. But she never wanted him or loved him as a mother should. Daniel's cell phone rings and he gets up to take Amanda's call. She tells him that Osvaldo is en route and urgently needs to see them. Rosario asks for a glass of water before she goes on and Camila exits to get it as the good padre comforts Rosario.

La Malquerida, Courtyard:  Not content with her previous insults, Hissadora attempts to rush the workers to get all the taurino ridiculezes piled up. We see the plaque that was awarded at Don Daniel's homenaje and the mounted bull head from the parlour. The female servants appear to be carrying the photos. Even before Hissadora pretends to not remember Eleuterio's name we know she is going to demand that he bring a can of gasoline. Rodolfo asks “Are you going to burn this?” She makes a condescending remark about how smart he is and says “of course.” When Piedad asks why she says she wants nothing of the Monterdes left. She says there are many other things to get rid of and walks away cracking her beloved verbal whip. She walks away just far enough for Piedad to say “What are we going to do?”, Eleuterio to say “What can we do?”, and Rodolfo to tell him to do something about the gasoline while he goes to the cabaña to call Daniel.

Townhouse:    Rosario explains that Eleazar did not want anyone to know about Alonso's true origin or the manner in which that occurred. Camila asks about the birth registration and Rosario explains that she and Hissadora had not met at the time and that Eleazar obviously was smart enough to have falsified documents made up. Daniel asks whether she has come forward after Alonso's death because of an inheritance. She tells him “No. I only wanted to recover my son and care for him.” Padre Anselmo explains she came to see him in the church. She finally saw Alonso after the accident. She had only had him in her arms for one day when he was taken away from her. Daniel asks why she came to see them if she isn't interested in the inheritance. She tells them that it was Alonso's last wish. She says that Camila is more beautiful than he described her and he wanted her to know how much he loved her. Camila tells her she will have to work hard to believe that. Rosario tells her that Alonso couldn't express it properly, he didn't know how. She cries as she remembers Alonso telling her Hissadora made him marry her in order to take the ranch away from her. Thanks to Hissadora he was not allowed to love her, could not make love to her, and regretted causing her pain. In his last words he said she was the woman Hissadora forbade him to love. Daniel is – understandably – still skeptical about this. Rosario says that Camila was the only good thing in Alonso's life.

Hostal, Natalia's Room:  Natalia lies on the bed with a pillow on her lap as Amanda enters and tells her she's right. She's going to come clean with her, but in her own way. She met her father in D.F., they made love, fell in love, and married. She became pregnant right away. She knew he had business dealings but not what kind. “My father had money?” asks Natalia. “He wasn't that rich, but we weren't badly off,” Amanda replies. They were comfortable with a few luxuries. However, one day when Natalia was a baby and he was on a trip she entered his office and accidentally found the briefcase. She discovered that “Hector” was a swindler.

La Malquerida, Outbuilding:   Eleuterio takes the two large gasoline containers and hides them behind and under saddles and other equipment, thinking about the possibility of becoming unemployed. He locks the building behind him.

Cabaña:    Rodolfo calls Daniel, who doesn't answer his cell. At Dorotea's suggestion he call the townhouse he demurs, but thinks of something else.

Study:  Hissadora is really impatient to begin the conflagration, demanding to know if all is ready. Piedad stalls by saying she doesn't know. She tries to leave, but Hissadora stops her and asks for a bottle of alcohol from the medicine cabinet [botiquín], saying she is sick [mareada]. Piedad goes to get it. Hissadora barely finishes rolling her eyes when Pablo enters to tell her that some engineers have arrived and want to bring their equipment inside the property. This pleases her. He confirms that it is excavation equipment and she smiles, saying that they will excavate. He asks whether it's true that La Malquerida will become a tourist trap. She tells him that the only thing he needs to know is that from this point on La Malquerida is no longer a ranch for breeding fighting bulls. She grins at him and he does not look pleased.

Hostal, Natalia's Room:    “So my father's name was 'Hector'?” “Yes, at least that was the name he told me.” Amanda explains she found the multiple passports with different names and the same photo. She realized she had no idea whom she had married and that these multiple identities had no honest purpose. She didn't give him a chance to explain because she didn't want to take any risks. She took Natalia and ran as far as she could. She never thought he would find them. Natalia is impactada.

La Malquerida, just outside the kitchen:  Piedad enters, telling Rodolfo that Hissadora is having one of her classic hissy fits. Rodolfo explains he hasn't been able to reach Daniel or Camila. Just as they decide to try Augustina Pablo arrives to tell them about the excavation equipment and personnel. The four of them decide they can't permit the destruction of La Malquerida. Piedad runs into the kitchen to look for the other cell phone while the other three exit to head off the engineers.

Study:   Hissadora is on the phone with El Diablo, who regrets not being there for the amusement. He speculates that the workers are ratting them out to Camila and Daniel. She agrees and teases him about how things are with Augustina in his house. He sits carefully in his office chair as he tells her not to even mention it; it's been hell for him. [Well, he should then truly feel right at home, shouldn't he?] Hissadora tells him there's not much left to be done toward their goal. “Our financial objective, yes,” he replies “But I have pending business with Camila. And I will not rest until I've succeeded.” She seems to caution him not to make a mistake. He replies that it's a question of patience.

Townhouse:    Rosario explains that she told Alonso she was his mother and that he had only recently learned that Hissadora was not. A lawyer friend of Eleazar had told him. Rosario recognized him right away by name and it wasn't easy for him to believe her.  Camila remembers her conversation with Alonso in which he told her that Hissadora wanted to kill him and how he hesitated to talk about something else big. Rosario states that Hissadora is responsible for all of this. Daniel questions why Alonso didn't free himself from her sooner and how – if he truly loved Camila – could he put her life at risk? Rosario doesn't know that, only that Alonso died in torment over it. Daniel mentions that Alonso had told Comandante Juarez that Hissadora was looking to kill him. Rosario tells him that she never left Alonso's side in the hospital and that he didn't want to see Hissadora. With this she has completed part of Alonso's last wish. Camila asks “There is something else?” Before she can answer there is a knock and Daniel admits Osvaldo who rushes in and happily hands the envelope to Camila. She pulls out the document, the secession of the lands back to her.

Avances

Hissadora pours the alcohol on the mementos, Daniel and Camila give her the boot.

UA, thanks for the swift recap, when I grow up I want to recap like you ;-)
This was a great episode, but my goodness what took Osvaldo so long to get to Camilia's house?

Was anyone else worries that Becerra wouldn't even make it to Camila's, maybe by a Dio intervention? Must remember that this is not the usual novela. It's shocking how much info comes out and we're not even in the ultimos capitulos!

Dante. Potential suitor for Miriam if she lives? She gets happiness and Mariano gets Teresa. win win. sort of.

Kelly

I was concerned that Becerra might collapse behind the wheel of his car because he didn't look well. El Diablo knows nothing about Rosario's relationship to Alonso, but after tonight it won't be long before he finds out.

I don't like his comment about pending business with Camila.

Someone who commented the other day is watching the rerun of Abrazame Muy Fuerte in which Cesar Evora plays another villain who lusts for a stepdaughter... but one he knew from birth. As creepy as El Diablo is, Federico is creepier.

I'm with you, Kelly, on the potential for Dante and Miriam. Teresa would be very good for Mariano.

Thanks for the recap, UA. This episode started to pick the pace back up!

I agree on the potential Dante/Miriam love connection. I had thought maybe Mariano and Miriam, but now that Dante's got an unrequited love, that definitely sits better in my mind.

Gussie's finally starting to react to Dio's callous cruelty. It was tiny, but I liked it! Also, loved the rancheros! Que lealtad!

Watching Bercerra reminded me of when Daniel left the hospital without his meds. I hope that he gets them soon...

Did these things bother/worry anyone else?: (1) Daniel was kind of an ass to Rosario. I get that he doesn't and probably never will forgive Alonso, but geez, do you need to cut apart the woman's few memories of her son? Weren't they bittersweet enough? (2) Nat had a reasonable reaction to Amanda's revelations, but when she said "lo abandonaste?!" I started to worry. I would prob have said the same thing, because hey, maybe my dad was an international spy saving the world and you never gave him a chance to explain, but as far as the evidence shows he hasn't done anything illegal, so she could still be swayed to the dark side...

Thanks so much, Urban A, for the great and speedy recap! You are truly incredible.

Wow, I didn't think Isa would get booted out so quickly....hope this is the beginning of a long, painful road downhill for her...and please don't forget Dio. They need to sweat miserably and for a long, long time:)

(Had to edit, due to falling asleep while typing)

UA, as soon as this very interesting episode ended I couldn't wait to get my hands on the recap. I knew you'd fill in the blanks with excellent detail. Thanks.

With so many episodes to go, It's hard to believe that Cami recovers the ranch so soon. There has to be more than what's meeting the eye.

Tomorrows epi should be just as interesting because there are a few sub plots that left us hanging.

HellaShelle - I too was a little irritated at Daniel's treatment of Rosario. His jealousy and anger at Alonso is understandable, but truly how could he not have some compassion for the woman?

Brava, Gussie! It's about time she's throwing it back at him a little...although she did fix him breakfast. Too bad she didn't spike it. That would have been my move.

Urban Anthropologist...you are SO incredibly good at telling these tales!

ALL of you recappers...thank you so much from all of us out here who don't even have access to Univision.

Thank you, thank you.

I was on the edge of my chair reading this! Believe me when I tell you that even though this novela is good and so different from the norm that you recappers are BETTER than watching it.

I had the good fortune of seeing an episode the first week in January while visiting a friend in California. I was disappointed that it was NOT as good as what I read here. I know...crazy, but I don't mind now not seeing it as the reading is so much more fun!

Thank you Urban Anthropologist!!

Many thanks, UA, for another speedy and splendid recap. I too thought Becerra looked quite weak when he was about to leave Amanda's, and I feared he'd never make it to Cam & Dan's. I hope all he needs is his meds (rather than, say, a new heart).

Kelly, I loved your suggestion about Dante winding up with Miriam. That seems like the perfect solution, since she's very likely still alive, and that would present immense complications for Dan. Clearly Dan has to be with Cam, and Teresa is Mariano's former/future novia. Of course, there still is the problem of Miriam regarding Dante as just a friend, but....

I'm still marvelling over the different pacing of this TN in comparison to almost all the others I've seen. Is it really possible that Isadora will be thwarted so quickly? Probably not permanently, but still, even a temporary thwarting is much more satisfying than months of unending viewer frustration. I love it!

Isa is not going to rest until Cam is dead.

Wonderful recap of a very good episode Urban. Loved your description of Isa's verbal whip. Can't wait till tonight when Cam and Dan kick her off the ranch. Yay!

I was a bit annoyed with Dan too, but I understand that we know Chayo is a good person. Considering all that's happened, it's not surprising that Dan would be suspicious of anyone who comes out of the woodwork who's connected to Al, Isa, or Dio.

Plus, Dan has always been a skeptic-- remember how he drove us crazy when he refused to believe Camila wasn't the evil mastermind of Miriam's shooting. His main criticism of Camila is that she's too trusting. They balance each other out.

So Dante loved Miriam...that makes things interesting. I still like how he and Teresa look together, and they seem to be developing a nice friendship. The guy who called Abe not only gave him the update, but also said, "I told them what you told me to say." So Abe (and Miriam) might have actually been in the country house recently, but Abe has obviously moved them once he learned someone from Mexico was asking questions.

HellaShelle- Yeah, I did sense some trouble with Nat's response. Like, "How could you leave my father, without even letting him explain?" Then her last shock that her dad is nearby, after Amanda said the last place she thought she would run into him again is Aculco. Can't wait to see the rest of her reaction tonight.

We all know that Hissadora won't give up without a fight even if El Diablo would suggest they move on.

Which he won't because they will be in a precarious legal position over this. They're in way too deep.

Remember also that Leoncerdo can still rat them out over Padre Baldomero once Aaron begins teaching him to read and write.

Isa did make me laugh when she looked around at all the bull paraphernalia and said, “So much bull crap…for the love of God!” LOL!!

It’s funny, because that’s exactly what the audience thinks—being that most of us are not a part of the fighting bull ranching world, and wouldn’t think of putting photos of our favorite bulls all around our houses. But it was cold to also burn the family pics and things like the plaque from Don Dan’s homage.

I too could not wait for the recap. What an exciting episode.

I hope that the previews are deliberately misleading and that the workers were able to prevent the burning of the stuff.

I am considering watching online. Hard to wait to see what happens.

Cindy

Thank you, UA. What a clear, thorough and well-paced recap of a good episode.

I was surprised to see that Cami's about to get back the ranch. This changes of my sense of where we are moving -- but, heck, what I like about this novela is that you never know.

I get a kick out of the way that Isadora adjusts her voice and demeanor before talking to old-fool Cayetano. His reaction to the selling of the bulls suggested that maybe the neighbors weren't going to be real happy with a change in course at Malquerida.

I am wondering whether Pablo and Luzma are going to wed any time soon. It's a bit of a teaser-- discussed every day, but we never quite get there. Not that a wedding would have fit into last night's action!

I agree that Isadora will go after Camila. I agree, too, that she doesn't really care a fig for Dio, but she likes control as well as money. Camila is an obstacle to both.

Great comment, Vivi, about the audience and the bull -stuff. I love the novelas that take us into a world of production of some kind, e.g., tequila and La Mentira and again, I think, in DA. Never knew what agave was until I watched la Mentira.

Vivi, it was cold, declasse, and beyond nasty. It's evidence of serious personal hostility. What would it have hurt if she had demanded that Rodolfo load it up in a pickup and bring it all to Camila?

This could provoke a fight between her and El Diablo, but there will be worse to come between them. Right now I'd also be concerned about Rosario. She might be safer in the women's prison as long as Hissadora is at large.

Under the heading of All Things Considered, I think Daniel's suspicion is understandable. He's been through so much crap because of Alonso he can't help but suspect that the man might have had another kind of agenda.

Finally, having seen a bullfight, I am not sure how I feel about it. I did see a matador get gored and was relieved to see the newspaper article the next day that he survived, but I do not credit Hissadora with outrage over this particular activity. She is a classless bitch who would insult anything and anyone that doesn't bow down to her.

Thanks for your speedy and excellently written recap UA. Loved your comment that Dio should feel right at home if he is in hell over Gussie. LOL.

Wow. All that last night and we still are waiting for Nat to find out who her father really is. Can't wait!

UA - I have to agree with Anonymous 12:43 that as good as this show is, the recaps are even better! Thank you.

I have to admit that the first thing I'd do if La MQ were mine, is get rid of the bulls heads and bull pictures and anything to do with bull fighting. That all makes me sick.

Padre's reaction in the confessional to Rosario was surprising. I thought he'd be more compassionate and not that angry.

Well, Padre is a Cahtolic priest and the whole taking a life thing is taken really seriously in the Catholic Church (abortion, suicide, assisted suicide, and murder are all kind of lumped in the same boat).

Thanks for the recap UA, great job as always.

So the paper in the envelop was the deed to Malquerida. I was hoping that there would be more, like a letter saying it was Isadora who pushed his car over the cliff, the link to his email that has the conversation recording on it, and anything else he knows about Isa and Dion.

Just because Isa is kicked out of Malquerida, if she hasn't been arrested, she will continue to do her dirty deeds. So need to fret about this happening so soon. We have yet to get the autopsy report on the padre and Leon learning to read and write.

And don't forget that Dion has yet to be found out too. What will the investment partners do now that Isa can't sell it?

There is so much still to be worked out.
Alonso, Ximena and padre's deaths.
Alonso's email to be discovered.
Dion's illegal activities.
Leon's tongue cutting.
Pablo and Luzma getting married.
Luzma having the baby.
Abraham's and Miriam's whereabouts.
Dan and Cam getting married, and Dan still being married.
Viv and Rafa getting married, and possible adoption of Roman.
Dion still wanting to have Camila.
Aggie learning about Dion.
Cayetano and Isa, Isa telling Cayetano about Rocio and Don Dan.
Cayetano learning that Pablo is son of Don Dan.
Where is new girl?
Mariano finding true love.

So we still have much that needs to be worked out before we are through here.

Cathyx- Great list! Also add the fallout from Nat learning Dio is her dad. That's enough stuff to cover the remaining 60 capitulos, right?

Al did already tell Juarez that Isa tried to kill him, so the ball is already rolling on that. It just needs to be proved that she did it.

Does anyone think that Agustina has already met her karma or do you think that she still has more awaiting her?

I don't like the character even though she is well played by the actress, but I'd like to kick Gussie's rear end out the door.

Dio is getting more flagrant in his abuse of her. Do you think he will slip and Camila will see it in real time?

After seeing the cr@p that was Abismo, this story seems to be light years away in terms of content and acting.

Abismo really was abysmal. No, it was downright bad.

Sorry for the OT random thought.

Yes, it was a pit.

I wonder if there will be any significance to Os not taking his meds. Really he could have swallowed them down in the time it took to argue with Amanda about it.

In the avances, did you see how Dan was standing in his tight pants? I mean you could "see" it all. Dan, if you are missing a sock, I know where you put it.

RlaO- LOL! I did not notice that in the previews, but I did notice the musculature of his thighs as he tried to cross his legs while he was sitting across from Chayo in the arm chair, with those tight charro pants on. :)

And by the way, I get shivers just looking at the temperature reading in your avatar.

And Isa's snake skin print pants are...interesting...

UA - Riveting recap. Thanks.

HellaShelle - ITA on Daniel and Nat. Rosario's story of being raped, having her baby taken away, and not seeing him again until he's an adult quadriplegic begging for death is so sad, that Daniel seemed a bit of a bully. Rosario is short and so humble in demeanor and was seated while Dan is strapping and was standing at times, making him seem even more the bully. I understand his skepticism but it wasn't pretty.

I've always thought Amanda's story of fleeing with the baby after finding a load of fake passports was extreme. The only thing that would make most women flee like that would be violence or abuse, which there wasn't. It's not like she found out her husband was a hit man. She couldn't have been that much in love with Hector to leave without first asking him what's up. I couldn’t blame Nat if she thinks this way.

Hurrah for Gussie standing up to Dio a bit. She's got her limits.

So Teresa won't find love in Chile after all. Whoohoo for Mariano.

Hissadora's pants are just another example of her getting too overconfident.

So, with the police guard at the door, how did Al and Chayo arrange to have a deed signed and witnessed etc?
Of course I was down the rabbit trail thinking the will just named his heir as his "Madre" and that Chayo was going to get to oust Isadora and become la patrona, at least for a while.
Lovely recap. Thanks for the extensive detailing of Rosario's, itself excruciatingly detailed, story. I know that without this blog, first I'd have never followed her story and second, wouldn't have already been aware of pretty much everything she had to say thanks to perceptive analysis and explanation along the way.
Chris in FL

Rosemary, now I have to go back and watch the avances, because I can't miss the tight pants. Something to look forward to tonight.

I forgot to add to the list for things still to happen,
Yago, Nat and Rodolfo story line and who ends up with whom.

I wasn't put out by Dan's skepticism over Rosario's story. He has no reason to think that Al didn't kidnap Camila. He even talked to Al on the phone about it twice so why would he think that Al wasn't behind it? Even if Al signs over Malquerida to Cam, it doesn't prove that Al wasn't behind the kidnapping. The only proof that he wasn't is the recorded conversation on Al's email.

Chris, the deed was in the envelop that Os brought to the comandante who brought it to Al. He may have just needed to sign it and with Rosario as a witness. Al's will can leave everything to Isa because he doesn't own anything without Malquerida.

Thanks for the recap UA.

Kelly - I really like your coupling idea I just don't know how it can happen b/c of Dan & Miriam's marriage. I guess since it wasn't a Catholic Church wedding, the divorce won't matter.

While I understand Dan's skepticism, I too thought he was harsh w/weepy Rosie.

UA: thanks for the quick recap. I read it last night when I should have been getting ready for bed, but I was too anxious to fill in the gaps of my understanding. Great read.

All through the Cam/Dan/Padre/Rosario scene I was distracted waiting for Os to show up. When he left Amanda’s, he looked like he was at death’s door. He seemed to recover nicely once he arrived at Cam/Dan’s place. Rosario was looking a little sly when Os came in with the documents.

I am beyond surprised that Isa did not inhabit LMQ for very long (according to the avances). I think the big roadblock in the story is going to be Miriam’s return.

I didn’t even think of Dante for Miriam until you all commented. Of course, that works. Dante/Miriam, Mariano/Teresa. Or they could do a complete 180 and have Mariano/Miriam and Dante/Teresa. This TN is not following the usual rules—at least ones I’m used to seeing.

Nanette

I wonder if Hiss will keep her sweet smile and unflustered demeanor when they show her the deed. It's always amazing how she responds so outwardly graceful when complications arise. She responds LESS than I do if the store is out of stock of something I am holding a $1 off coupon for.

Neither Dante nor Teresa appears in the credit images, do they? Not that this TN follows rules, but from past TNs, what does that usually mean in terms of who ends up a couple at the end?

Thanks so much for the brilliant recap. Like Anonymous said, the recaps are the best part. Isadora is my favorite villainess, she plays her part with such flavor, that she makes me laugh sometimes. Leticia is enjoying her role.

Thanks cathyx for the list of unresolved issues, Luzma having the baby will be a vexing time. After her abuse I'm wondering if the writers will venture into her emotional state and how she handles intimacy with Pablo. I'm also dying for Rodolfo to be taken out of his misery and or Natalia to wake up.
Thanks again for the recap.

Niecie in MD: I loved your comment that "Hissadora's pants are just another example of her getting too overconfident." With such great snark, you should consider becoming a recapper!

I can see Nat wanting to get to know her father, but if she turns around and starts making her mother the villain of the piece—knowing her mother as well as she does, then I have no use for her. She’s beginning to get on my nerves. I think it’s her continuing to turn a blind eye to Iago, that’s caused that for me.

Vivi: I see your point about Dan’s reaction to Rosario.

Cathyx: Good point about the other things Al could have told Rosario. Maybe she isn’t finished spilling it to Cam/Dan. Of course, Al was in agony about his situation and his betrayal of Cam, so he may not have thought about those other things. His concern was to get LMQ back to Cam. And Isa inheriting nothing re: Al’s will, because Al had nothing. Great.

Do you thing now that Isa doesn’t have LMQ that she’ll ramp up the seduction of Cayetano?

Nanette, I think you just pointed out that Natalia's blind eye about Iago is a predictor of the blind eye she will have about El Diablo.

Personally, I can't fault Amanda for running when she saw the multiple passports. Asking questions about what that meant could have led to something she didn't want to face. For all she knew he could be more than a grifter.

Prediction: The bigamous situation of El Diablo / Amanda / Augustina is the precursor to Daniel / Miriam / Camila. Of course we have to hope that the first one comes to light before the second one happens.

Padre Anselmo's reaction to Rosario's confession was so refreshing! Finally, a TN priest who reacts as he should and not just give her absolution (since she is obviously repentant) and keep her "secreto de confesion" for the rest of the telenovela! He was firm with her and told her he couldn't and wouldn't until SHE told her story. Yay, Padre Anselmo!

Isa is so mean, but sometimes so funny with her sarcastic looks and remarks and snapping of her fingers, "Oh, poor sweetheart, you can only hold one photo at a time," she was snarkily commenting on their slowness and unwillingness to do her bidding.

What Rodolfo told Eleuterio was to stall in bringing the gasoline while he contacted Daniel.

New girl? Where are you, NG? Were you just a red herring?

UA, Thanks so much for your recap. It was a good episode and having a full recap was great.

Vote me in as one who thought Dan was annoying with Rosario. Yes, I know that there are plenty of potential snakes in the grass, but 1.)she went to confession for crying out loud and was at their house because she actually did what the Padre told her to do and 2.) if he had listened fully, she would have gotten to the proof of her credibility which was to deliver the news that Al gave the ranch back to Camila out of his love for her.

Cayetonto, perfect apodo! Lets add one more tweek.. CaerTonto....

Great recap, UA. Very nicely done.

Boy, was I ever wrong about Alonso. Not only did he see to details before checking out, it looks as though he tied things up with a pretty bow. Good work, Alonso, you are a credit to your phylum.

Interesting how things turned out. Don Dan willed MQ to young Dan who signed it over to Alonso who has now signed it over to Camila. Things generally happen in TNs for a reason.

I'm looking for Natalia to sign back up (at least for a time) with Daddy.

Urban- "The bigamous situation of El Diablo / Amanda / Augustina is the precursor to Daniel / Miriam / Camila."

Except of course in the Dio/Amanda/Gussy triangle only one of those women actually want the man, and his first marriage might not be valid anyway since we and Amanda don't know if Hector Gutierrez was even his real name.

Juanita - Thanks. I only wish my Spanish were good enough.

There will be things Isa can challenge about the deed. Was it notorized? How did he sign it in his paralytic state?

How did that document get into Al's hospital room anyway?

RlaO: Stop putting obstacles in Cam's way!!! :)

The tongue-clicking was what ticked me off the most. That was so insulting.

Whatever the writers did to her in the end I hope it's adequate.

Vivi, I'm going to bet that "Dionisio Ferrer" isn't his real name either. However, that doesn't invalidate a US marriage.

Rosemary, they can use his fingerprints and have a witness sign. Either Becerra or Juarez said something about this a few episodes ago.

Dionisio Ferrer is totally a made up name. But if he was not really married in Mexico anyway (because he used a false name), then it doesn't matter if he's married to Gussy under any of his other names.

RlaO- In addition to what Urban said about the fingerprint and the witness (Chayo), Becerra was the one who drew up the document, and Juarez was the one who delivered it to Al's room.

We don't know if Amanda was Dion's first wife or if they ever divorced if she was the first wife. So he may not have been legally able to marry Aggie.

RdlO - And Al specifically asked PC Juarez to tell Lic Becerra he really needed to see him.

I doubt that El Diablo was ever honest in any relationship he has ever had in his life.

Whether he was married before Amanda we have yet to discover. Whether Amanda divorced him after running from him we don't know. The only way she could have and been able to avoid him all these years would have been if his signature was not required.

I doubt she would have taken the risk of him finding her.

In either case I suspect that he gave her a false name, so the marriage was never legal in the first place.

If he was never married under whatever his real name is, he is now legally married to Augustina because a fake name doesn't invalidate the marriage in the US. The marriage could be annulled on grounds of fraudulent representation but I doubt that Augustina would do that. She'll just think up another excuse for him.

But then Becerra got stabbed on his way to see Al. So did he have it on his person when he was admitted to the hospital? His asst must have grabbed his briefcase. I wonder if a notary public was allowed in the room.

RlaO- Becerra gave Juarez the document when he went to visit Juarez in his office at the police station. Juarez told him he would give the document to Al and speak to him about giving the ranch back to Camila and signing (finger printing) the doc. That's when Al told Juarez Isa tried to kill him, that he wanted to see Becerra, and then he got so agitated that Juarez left the room, but left the document for Al to review.

That's right! I remember that now. I am either over thinking or under thinking this!
