Amor Bravío #99 (Uni 94) Mon 1/7/13

Capitulo 99: Medea $miles While the Fat Man is Busted

Lo del pasado

Comandante Juarez comes to the funeral parlour to question Hissadora, but retreats for the moment because Cayetano defends our favorite Black Widow.  Rocio expresses her concerns to Refugio that Hissadora is seducing Cayetano; Iago is listening from the adjacent corridor.  Back at the funeral parlor Hissadora sits alone as Cayetano brings her tea and sympathy. She then starts the tease of lowering the boom on her discovery. She offers to surrender letters she found but warns that the information will hurt him.

Lo de nuevo

Graveyard: The coffin is lowered into the ground as Padre Anselmo says the prayer. Only Hissadora, Cayetano, Camila, and Daniel are present. The latter two are tastefully clad in black. Hissadora is in black, but wearing a teasing plunging neckline with a strategically-placed lariat necklace [obviously for Cayetano's benefit]. She comments to Camila and Daniel that she feels so alone and they watch Hissadora carefully as she leaves with Cayetano in his pickup. Rosario, also dressed in black, watches from behind a tree. Camila has a white gladiola which she places on the coffin. Daniel comments on the strangeness of the friendship between Cayetano and Hissadora. Camila agrees and makes a comment about Pablo. Daniel – ever the considerate novio – asks how she feels. She comments that she feels strange. She's had other losses but feels somehow that this one is a new beginning. “You and me together. Para Siempre. With or without La Malquerida.” [Cue Acme for the anvil.] They kiss and depart in Camila's red SUV. Rosario comes out of hiding and approaches the grave in tears, saying “Hijo, mi hijo, hijito.” She is barely there for a moment when Padre Anselmo notices. He asks her if she is alright and she cries out “Ask God to forgive me and ask Him for pity!” and then almost runs away. The good padre looks after her a moment, then quizzically into the grave as the operatic music strain peaks and comes down in a typical scene-ender.

Viviana's Place: Aaron has just arrived in his retro 60s hippie shirt (dark teal version). They talk briefly about Alonso's funeral and that Camila and Daniel will be over later for dinner. She says something about being fortunate to have friends like them... and Rafael and Aaron. They then talk about her volunteering at the commune and how Viviana needed room to clarify her feelings about Rafael and him. We hear “Un Nuevo Dia” in the background. He asks why she is afraid to love his brother and she replies that she doesn't know. She doesn't want to hurt Rafael but she is confused about whether she she loves Rafael or him. Aaron is slightly impactado at this.

Rafael's Hotel Room: He studies photos on his computer screen, photos taken on the day of Don Daniel's homenaje. Photos of himself [in clothes that would suit Indiana Jones] and Vivi, Camila and Vivi, of Vivi and her camera. Their song backgrounds his realization that Vivi is the love of his life. He knows now he has to do something about this.

Viviana's Place: Aaron gets up from the couch, confused that she may have misinterpreted something he said. She had heard the brothers talking about Rafael's feelings and thought that perhaps he still had the hots for Camila or that Aaron wanted Vivi herself. She is confused because she feels at peace with Aaron, she feels like herself. He loves her, but “Love has many faces.” He references her marriage to Bruno and what a nightmare that was. Romantic love [amor de pareja] must have passion, the willingness to give one's life for the beloved, and his love for her is something different. She almost cuts him off, saying she's done with that after Bruno. It's too scary. He tells her that her relationship with Bruno was sick and she is over it. It's normal to be afraid, but “Tu corazón esta limpia y libre.” She is finally ready to love again. She first looks like she will cry, then laughs as she realizes he is right, thanks him, and they embrace. She has a thoughtful expression as she looks over his shoulder.

Osvaldo's Hospital Room: He is dressed and ready to be discharged. He can't wait to go home. Natalia is also there – for once wearing something other than yellow – asking whether it would really be best for him to go home. Who is there to take care of him? He tells her he will hire someone so as not to put them out. She is persistent, though. Why not come to the hostal so she and her mother can take care of him? Amanda is clearly apprehensive about this, thinking about what El Diablo will do when he finds out.

La Malquerida, Parlour: El Diablo and his dowdily-dressed handmaiden [Really, that schmatta belongs on Edith Bunker on a bad day] sit on the couch as Hissadora enters. Camila and Daniel enter behind her as she talks about how sad it was that “Nobody cared about my son.”

Isadora (back to Camila and Daniel):    Thanks for accompanying me. (to Dionisio and Augustina) It's so sad that nobody cared about my son. I would have liked to have seen his friends (looks pointedly at Dionisio and Augustina) accompany him in his last moments.
Dionisio (gesturing as we see his crutches in the background):    It's evident that we couldn't under these conditions. But I want to say that we are with you in your grief.
Isadora (with a false show of regret):    Yes, I understand. (looks at Camila who is watching out of the corner of her eye) Today I will pack up my things and Alonso's and I'll go first thing in the morning. Augustina, my son has caused a lot of pain, especially to your daughters and the truth is I can't stay in this house and face you over that. The sooner I accept my new reality, the better. Excuse me. (heads for stairs)
Augustina (stage-whispers):   Is that true? Nobody was at the burial?
Daniel (as Camila shakes her head):    Only us and Cayetano Albarrán.
Augustina (incredulous):    Cayetano Albarrán?
Camila:    Turns out they're good friends, Isadora and him.
Dionisio:   And Cayetano's wife wasn't there?
Camila:    No. (Augustina is impactada as Camila looks briefly up at Daniel, as if for confirmation). No. No. Well, we're going to change. Excuse us. (they exit)
Augustina:   Can you believe that? Cayetano friends with Isadora?
Dionisio:   What are you trying to say? They've been friends since they met at the party.
Augustina:    I have a bad feeling about this. She tried to hide it but I think she was flirting with you.
Dionisio:   With me?
Augustina:   Yes. That day you were angry with me because of my jealousy. But she won't do it anymore because you have been faithful. (thinks for a millisecond) But I don't know Cayetano well enough to know if this is a friendship or something else. I don't think Rocio would like Isadora to be that close to him. (stares away from Dionisio, who looks irritated with her as usual.)

Santiago de Chile

Teresa's Hotel Room:  Dante – whose shirt is halfway open without benefit of an undershirt – helps Teresa pack for the trip to the hinterlands of Chile to look for Abraham.  He seems to be wearing a rosary under the shirt. She is wearing a very flattering one-sleeved black and white dress that must make him notice her as they talk about the trip and how he is looking forward to meeting her brother, the priest, when he accompanies her to Mexico. She says something about hoping that this trip will be worth it. He insists upon carrying her suitcase. [Teresa, this guy is attractive and it looks like he's interested; go for him!]

Outdoor Café:   Suspense music begins as Abraham – unshaven and dressed in a manner far less than meticulous – meets with his colleague from the department. They sit and Abe tells the other detective that it isn't easy to meet with him. He asks for updates and his colleague tells him that it's a lawyer from Mexico who is investigating Daniel's escape. Abe concludes that this means Daniel is alive, but his colleague tells him that she didn't say. Only that she wants to speak with him (Abe). He imagines that she wants to determine whether Daniel is alive or dead. She was asking about a death certificate and talking about an inheritance. Abe looks like he's starting to connect the dots, thanks him for his information, and tells him not to do anything else. He asks if Abe will contact her and he tells him no, finishing with “Don't worry; I know how to find out who this lawyer is or isn't.” From the high notes in the music we know this is not going anywhere good.

Aculco, Mexico

Cabaña:  Camila helps Daniel with his tie as they prepare to go to the office to get his Mexican citizenship made official and to stop off at the police station to see Comandante Juarez to explain Daniel's incognito identity. They wear multiple shades of the same hue (dove grey) and look like the perfect upwardly mobile couple. She then says it only remains to settle the matter of the ranch. Daniel promises to do everything possible. A beautiful kiss follows, which is approved by Don Vicente because he's singing.

La Malquerida, Library:   Pablo talks to Mariano on the phone, telling him that the wedding will go on despite the possible risk to his employment. He may need a job lead or two from Mariano because Dad's been annoyed with him for a while and had his friends close all the doors to him. Although we don't hear Mariano's voice we know that he referenced something he doesn't know about Cayetano, which Pablo seconds. He mentions Rocio's ongoing jealousy over Hissadora and that she's sure Cayetano is fooling around with her. “I don't know what to think, but since you left for Zacatecas they've been inseparable.”

Hissadora's Room:  She's on the phone with Licenciado Fermin Villavicencio [a relative of Gala's?] to ask that he visit this morning about the case. She gets the answer she wants and just as she ends the call El Diablo enters on his crutches to congratulate her on her Tony-winning performance in her one-woman show Grieving For My Dead Son. She is clad in black leggings, a black blouse with some white decoration near the left shoulder, and gold polish on her claws.

Dionisio:   I come to congratulate you. I never imagined that you could pretend so well such grief at the death of your son. (puts the crutches aside and sits on the bed)
Isadora (with a certain irony as she gets up): Ay, no, no. It wasn't all pretending. It hurts a lot to lose a child.
Dionisio:    When one loves him.  It is perfectly clear to me that you never loved Alonso.
Isadora:    Suppose we not talk about my feelings for my son, yes?
Dionisio:    No. I came to bring you some good news. I talked to Estevez and told him we will have to renegotiate the contract. Now he will not deal with Alonso, but with you. (she grins, but without showing fangs) Here the portions have to change and we'll see to it that with the new contract you and I will be the majority shareholders in the tourist trap.
Isadora (now showing fangs as she extends her hand for him to kiss): And when is the meeting?
Dionisio:    As soon as you take possession of the ranch. (thoughtful expression) Isadora, something still worries me.
Isadora:    What is it?
Dionisio:    The woman you hired to do Alonso in. Are you sure she won't talk?
Isadora:    Of course she won't. (touching his face in the way a mother reassures a child) Besides, she was the one who killed him. He didn't want me to see him. It wouldn't benefit her to open her mouth since in the end she was the killer, not I.
Dionisio (reaching for her hips):    I love how you think of everything!
Isadora:    And I love your kisses (leans over; suspense music begins) They'll help me forget a little of my pain.  (they kiss)
Dionisio:    And when are you going to tell me about the brothers Albarrán? Everyone is talking about this big friendship between you and Cayetano. [He almost sounds jealous]
Isadora (almost teasing): There is nothing to tell you. You will know in good time. (leans in for a kiss, then pulls away) And now, it's better you leave me alone. I'm in mourning [de luto] and your wife will be looking all over the house for you. Come on, I'll help you. (hands him something as he reluctantly rises)

Viewers heave a collective sigh of relief as we are spared the sight of any coupling.

Hostal, Osvaldo's Room:  To the sound of Don Vicente's song, Amanda leads the way in as the brothers Quintana escort Osvaldo in and to the bed.

Relaciones Exteriores Office:   Daniel receives his papers to Camila's delight. They exit the office and kiss. She says “I love you... Mexican!” “Te adoro con me corazón Chileno y te amo con mi corazón mexicano” he says to her. They kiss.

Viviana's Place:  Camila and Daniel sit on the floor by the rattan “table” as Viviana enters with a pizza box and an apology for not having a prepared meal instead. Daniel mentions missing Rafael's cooking. They talk about Viviana resolving her issues. She finally tells them she loves Rafael. They toast this with their usual red wine over the strain of "Un nuevo dia,"

La Malquerida, Kitchen:  Pablo and Luzma talk briefly about Iago and Natalia before Eluterio, Dorotea, Rodolfo, and Piedad enter. Pablo has talked to Mariano about the Malquerida workers finding jobs at La Buenaventura if things go wrong, which pleases Dorotea. Eluterio flirts with her to the others' amusement. We note that Luzma's blouse is the same blue as Pablo's shirt.

Viviana's Place: Daniel explains that Osvaldo confirmed that Alonso didn't sign the documents. Also that he doesn't know whether Alonso had a will. Camila says that as much as she doesn't want to lose the ranch, the idea of the workers being unemployed bothers her the most. She and Daniel can live in the townhouse, but otherwise she doesn't know what will happen.

Flamenco music and running bulls. [¡Salud!]

La Malquerida, Parlour (or The Heire$$, Act I, Scene 1):  It feels like a few days later or is it really the following morning? Hissadora enters with her suitcase. She's in a sleeveless purple blouse with a plunging neckline [the hussy]. El Diablo has abandoned the crutches for an elegant cane [much more his style, but this makes his recovery look rather swift]. He is seated on the couch with Augustina (more appropriately dressed this time in elegant black) to his left and Camila to hers. Daniel stands behind the other sofa, facing them as Licenciado Villavicencio enters through the open door. He introduces himself by name and informs them that he was Alonso's lawyer. He then tells Hissadora she is the heredera universal to all Alonso's estate, including La Malquerida. She continues her performance with co-star El Diablo providing counterpoint. Augustina is impactada while Daniel and Camila restrain themselves.

Orphanage:  Viviana and Padre Anselmo talk as Roman comes outside to greet them. He greets them, says he's alright with being there and that Padre Anselmo is a good guy. He expresses interest in Viviana's camera, so she explains how to use it and he takes a picture of her with the padre. She compliments his effort (which we do not see) and he runs off when Tolentino comes out to round up the boys. Padre Anselmo then tells Viviana that life is a curious thing, when something happens at the right time. The kids need her because of her positivity. He seems to overlook her sleeveless dress with its shirred bodice under a khaki vest.

La Malquerida, Parlour (or The Heire$$, Act I, Scene 2):  The lawyer tells everyone that Alonso's will states that his mother inherits everything of his. This provokes accusations and arguments

Isadora:    Are you sure about what you're saying, Licenciado?
Licenciado:    Of course, Señora.
Daniel:    May I? (reaches for the brown envelope. Dionisio watches expectantly) This can't be.
Licenciado:    This is a valid will.
Camila:    I believe this document is falsified.
Dionisio:    Why do you say that, Camila?
Camila:    Because this is not the first time Isadora made out the fake will of another person. (stands between the lawyer and the two subhumans and crosses her arms)
Isadora:    What are you talking about? I don't understand.
Camila (slight mockery):    What am I talking about? What am I talking about? (pointing at her) You made out a will in my name leaving everything to Alonso when you thought I would inherit La Malquerida... because you wanted to kill me.
Augustina (incredulous):    Dear God, what are you talking about, Camila?
Camila:    The accident with the bull on the day of my uncle's tribute was no accident. This woman provoked the accident in order to kill me and cash in on my “will.” It's a fake.
Isadora:  Camila, I will not permit you to make false accusations against me in this manner. I didn't do anything! Besides, you have no proof of that. If you had any proof, you'd have gone to the police.  Yes or no?
Daniel:    We know what you've done.
Isadora:    Explain to me how I could provoke a bull to attack Camila? How? Why would I do that the day of the tribute?
Daniel:    Because it was you who said to get Camila to tend a sick bull.
Isadora (as though talking to an idiot):    When? How could I do that? I was at home, for God's sake!
Daniel:    You can try to convince the whole world with your lies, but the vaquero who saw you can identify not only you but your car.  Right, Dionisio? (Dionisio shrugs, almost theatrically, cane in hand)
Isadora (looking amused):    You've been watching too many cop movies, por favor! I had nothing to do with this, least of all the will. If that were true, let me see. Show me.
Camila:    I don't have to. I know you are lying. Your son told me himself.
Isadora:    Alonso told you and you believe Alonso who kidnapped you with the intention of killing you? (condescendingly) Por favor, Camila, think! (gestures toward her own head) Although he was my son you can't mow me down. [segarme] It hurts me that he could do such a thing to wash his own hands clean.
Daniel:    How could this will be valid? Alonso couldn't sign because he couldn't move after the accident.
Licenciado:    If you will permit me, this will was enacted hace tiempo and it is specified that in the event of Señor Alonso's death, all his goods pass into the name of his mother. (gestures toward Isadora, who has a merde-eating grin) It is certified that Señor Lazcano owned this property after a secession of rights or is it not?
Augustina (sarcastically):    Yes. Disgracefully, yes.
Camila:    But how were you notified of the secession of rights because this just happened a short time ago? Alonso was incommunicado in the hospital and besides, he couldn't move.
Licenciado:    I received a phone call from a nurse on  Señor Alonso's behalf to include the secession into his goods. It's evident that despite the state of his health he was very worried for his mother.
Daniel (looking at the document again):    No, this can't be.
Licenciado:    Very well, I have to go.  Señora Isadora, I will ask you to come to the notary office around one in Metepec to take possession of this ranch. (she nods) In reality it was the only thing your son had. Excuse me. (bows slightly and exits. Dionisio fidgets a little with his cane, looking as though he were hiding his amusement)
Isadora (shrugging):    Believe me, I am just as surprised as you are. I was packed and ready to go; you see my suitcase.  I was going.
Daniel:    That was all for show because you had no intention of leaving this ranch. None.

Isadora answers with a smug expression.

Hostal, Osvaldo's Room:   He thanks Amanda for breakfast (or is it now lunch?) and she is happy he's feeling better so he can soon go home. The Fat Man is just outside the door eavesdropping as Osvaldo comments about how Amanda wasn't encouraging him to stay there and what a poor liar she is, provoking the confession that she feared what El Diablo would do to him next. He realizes what is – or could be – up with this, thinking that this might have been related to Alonso wanting to see him about the property transfer. Comandante Juarez was the only person who knew that Alonso wanted to see him. Somehow Dionisio must have found out. The attack happened just in time to prevent that.

La Malquerida, Parlour:  The Heire$$, Act II, Scene 1

Isadora:    Believe me, the last thing I thought of is that I'd be inheriting from Alonso.
Augustina:    You knew that he demanded the secession of ownership of La Malquerida was to rescue Camila.
Isadora:    Yes. But in one moment the accident causes the secession of the property? The only thing that was important to me was my son's health.
Daniel:    Isadora, don't try to fool us. You knew perfectly well what happened. Your only intention always was to get your hands on the ranch.
Isadora (pretending incredulity):   I was packed and ready to go. See? (holds up suitcase) Here's my suitcase. I had almost left. This is absurd and ridiculous. Besides, I thought when Alonso and Camila got married I assumed he had changed his will to make her his heiress. That's logical, isn't it?
Camila:    To leave me what, Isadora?  Because I remind you he married me por interes. He had nothing. (Isadora makes a gesture of embarrassment) No, you don't fool me, Isadora. I know who and what you want.
Dionisio (getting up):    Aver, aver, aver. Why don't we calm down, por favor? (facing her) Isadora, one thing your son said in the past before he died and another different and what's fair. Here I hope that fairness and prudence will prevail at this moment.
Isadora:    I don't understand. What do you want to say?
Dionisio (taking a breath):    That now it is you who can give the ranch back to Camila.

(Isadora looks incredulous while Daniel and Camila look on suspiciously)  Camila is the rightful owner of La Malquerida, isn't she?

A musical flourish.

Hostal, Corridor in front of Osvaldo's Room:  The Fat Man begins texting Omar, only to be caught by Rafael, who quickly grabs the cell phone. The struggle begins.

La Malquerida, Parlour: The Heiress, Act II, Scene 2

Augustina:    Well, Isadora, we're waiting for your answer. Dionisio is right; the ranch belongs to my daughter. The right thing would be for you to cede it to her because your son obtained it illegally and you know that very well.
Isadora:    Look, Augustina, in truth I am grateful to all of you because after everything Alonso has done you wanted us to leave La Malquerida. Now that I have been accused of falsifying a will, attempted murder –
Camila:    Alonso told me but, alas, isn't here to confirm it.
Isadora:    What more could I want than to have my son at my side? Although he would be accusing me of these false charges as you are? But that is not possible. You don't believe it, but I am as surprised as you at this news. But it would be stupid for me to reject a fortune like this, don't you think? (smiles)
Camila (knowingly):   Of course. And therefore...?
Isadora:    Well, since Alonso left me La Malquerida, I accept it. (smirks) Since nobody every gave me anything I have to think of myself, of my future, of me. I'm sorry, I'm really sorry, but I won't think of giving this ranch to anyone. Let me repeat it. To anyone. (mocking smile)

This is going to be a wild week, amigos!

Excellent recap!

So much to speculate. AlonSo had some plan to get back at his snake mother and Chayo wasn't shown with an envelope for no reason. My guess is that Hissadora won't get the ranch that AlonSO made a will prior to being pushed over the cliff that left the ranch to Camila which will set off a new round of more desperate murder attempts on Daniel and Camila. Time for events to swing back in favor of the good guys. Hope Rafa gets the cell phone.

Wow that isn't just a recap, that's a transcap.
I only regret that the attention to detailed dialog may have deprived us of a few more of your insightful comments. Then again, what with discerning the play within the play that is "The Heire$$," I can hardy feel too deprived. Or with noting how considerate of Cayatano's need for visual stimulation Isadora was in selecting her neckwear.
Going to get crowded at Cam's townhouse if Isadora's hospitality is what I expect. Hope she doesn't make an exception for Dio and Augustina, A doesn't seem accident prone, but...

Did anyone else catch the promo for the new FC novela coming into the 8PM time slot? Does that mean that Eva goes to 7 and Corona goes to daytime?

Anyway, this one is going into some wild times now. Here's hoping Rafael got the cell phone.

UA--Applause, Applause--Both Hands Clapping. I love your riff on The Heire$$. It's just so sad that our Camila was this Heire$$.

Didn't Dan look super-dooper in his form-fitting suit? Cute watching Cam doing his tie. Cute, too, when Dan turned around and held up his citizenship paper, like a proud little schoolboy. They had some real nice moments together before the bull(sh*t) hit the fan--No, UA, not one of your fans.

I got the biggest kick out of Hissy's performance. And Dio didn't do to poorly either--suggesting that the right thing to do would be to give the Malquerida back to Camila. I had to enjoy, though it was at Camila's expense, Hissy's final words that, nopis, sorry, have to think of me, myself and I, so I'll just gleefuly have to keep this fabulous rancho my dear son wanted me to have....

Poor Gussy, she's the first one who is going to feel the pinch of reduced circumstances if Hissy throws them out (and I can see her doing that to Dio and laughing all the way to the bank--since for him it will be temporary..so she thinks). Cam & Dan have already been living in a tiny space with no kitchen, but a VERY big bathroom.

It was sad to see Camila's concern for the large staff at MQ--they're probably not hiring at the Buenaventura.

Thanks, UA. Very detailed recap. I was disappointed that the advances showing Chayo holding a document did not happen tonight. What happened? Was it just wishful thinking? It's like when OS was robbed in the street, the secretary just received a document but she laid it down beside him when she ran to him and now no mention what was in that envelope or where it went. So basically there are documents running around not doing anything. I wonder does this TN have a book version? I would love to read it. By the way I was watching Ximena on another tn channel (Quien Eres tu) looks interesting.

Urban- Fantastic job catching all the details.

I also had to laugh at Isa's performance and little ME, ME, ME speech. And her supporting cast, in the form of Dio and Lic. Villavicezio who pretended like this was the first time he'd had any contact with Isa, when she had already planned this whole thing with him.

I liked all the cute scenes with Dan and Cam. Anita- he did look like a little boy who just got an A on his exam and wanted to show his mommy. Urban- they totally looked like yuppies.

Now we know why Dan is pushing for Rafa, or at least one of the Quintana boys, to be back at Vivi's-- so that he can get a real meal when he goes there. LOL! Loved Vivi's response-- "La cocina, la mia, la mia, NO es." (Cooking REALLY isn't my thing.)

Aaron should be some kind of motivational guru, or at least Vivi's personal guru, the way he's always able to get her to see what's really going on in her own head and heart. That was a sweet scene between them. Maybe she should actually tell Rafa now that he's her boyfriend, since everyone else knows. :)

Vida2- I recorded Quien Eres Tu on UniMas and watched it after AB. It's off to a good start and looks quite intruiging. Laura C. (Ximena) is doing a good job as twins (one good, one evil), and Julian Gil is also doing a good job as a workaholic, frustrated father and husband. Nice to see him as a good guy.

I think the avances vary from "tomorrow's episode" to "this week". Avances and the opening scenes that could have the intro "Previously on Amor Bravio" vary by broadcasting network, which is why I'm editing this entry during our viewing time. Univision typically has a little more of the previous episode and shows less in the avances.

I did see the opening episode of Laura Carmine's new series and it does look interesting. However, I have difficulty with Julian Gil as the galan. I've seen him before as a good guy, but he needs to lose the beard and wear his hair differently. He still looks too sinister.

Back to our story:

I think Rafael looked great in the form-fitting shirts. It's high time we saw him shirtless. I also think he and Viviana will be perfect together and Aaron will be the perfect brother-in-law.

My riff on The Heiress was a last-minute inspiration, as I will be seeing the play this Friday.

The other thing I liked about the pizza scene was when Vivi said she wanted to be truthful with them all about what's going on, and Dan gestured to Cami and said, "or else SOMEONE would be mad." I like that although they've moved passed the whole angry breakup, they can joke about it.

Thank you, UA. What a fabulous, detailed recap. I love the dialogues you posted -- the best of them from last night.

Isadora and Dio perfect in the last scene. Poor Camila looked a little bit helpless and wan. We know the tide will turn and fresh-faced, smirking, smiling Isadora will see her end -- but it will be a while.

On a light note, I enjoyed the pizza party at Vivi's and Daniel's prediction that good cooking is about to return with Rafa.

Osvaldo looked a bit wan as well, even as he gets the boot. I was a little bit surprised that he wasn't already suspicious of our maleantes.

UA - let us know how The Heiress is. Brings together so many themes for us serial fiction watchers, including a Downton Abby star (Matthew).

Oh, forgot to mention the developments in Chile...Did Teresa's wardrobe get sexy overnight?! I guess sexy Dante can do that to a girl. I hope she enjoys that (romantic) trip out to the countryside with him. And Abe still seems like a jerk. At least before he seemed like an upstanding jerk. Now he seems like a shady jerk. Why is his old partner helping him hide whatever he's hiding, and not encouraging him to do more to straighten out this Daniel situation/mess and get to the truth?

I wonder if the other Chilean cop is an underling who is helping Abe in exchange for a promotion or something. If that is the case he is doomed to disappointment because Abe is now guilty of corruption. He arrested Daniel on a bogus charge, lied about Miriam's death (I am certain of this), and is now hiding out. That has to be to hide something major... like Miriam being alive.

Abe's resentment of Daniel has to be about more than money because it is truly sick. I am wondering if he has the same obsession over her as Leoncerdo did with Piedad.

UA thanks for the recap.

When Dio asked Isa to do the right thing (give the ranch to Cam), Cam's face said to me, oh my goodness Dan is right and this guy is attracted to me. Ewwwwww! SN is so good.

UA & Vivi - ITA about Abe. He gave all the wrong answers with his friend and doesn't at all seem to want to be upstanding. I hope Teresa and Dante aren't harmed in their visit.

I am not prepared to predict what will happen to Dante and Teresa. Since she was very careful in what she said to Abe's partner, they could easily take him by surprise.

El Diablo is still trying to look like the good guy in front of Augustina and Camila. He hasn't snowed Camila but Augustina is still in denial about him. However, I think he will be watching Hissadora more carefully from this point on since he is perfectly aware that sending him to get Camila was meant to kill both of them.

Who is starting to watch Abrazame Muy Fuerte on UniMas? You're lucky to catch this one from the prologue. It's got a lot of good incidental music and great performances from Cesar Evora and Pablo Montero.

Thank you , UA, for a great and speedy recap!

I think I really hate Isadora at this moment, but kudos to her for being such an awesome villainess to make me feel that. It is going to be hard for me to wait for her to get her comeuppance, but I have a feeling that she is going to get it and good.

Nice to see Dante, but the rosary as accessory is not a good look. I could totally see him and Teresa being a beautiful couple together and hope that she will give him a little fashion guidance.

Loved Daniel in his suit and his getting Mexican citizenship and being so darn cute about it. I can’t help but think how extremely well that would play to mexicanas.

Excellent recap, Urban A. I love the title especially. I think Isa will be Medea for me hereon in.

And how about Natalia not sporting her signature yellow? Loved the way you put that.

I really enjoyed the Vivi scenes, both with Aaron and Cami and Daniel. I agree with whoever said it's time to take the shirt off, Rafa. I think he's guapisimo.

Now I'm waiting to see, like the rest of us, what Chayo has to throw a wrench in Medea's windfall. If Alonso managed to pull this off -- making Medea think she has it all and then taking it all away -- I'll be proud of him.

Great dialogue, UA! Edith Bunker indeed! LOL

Like sands through the hour glass, so are the bare-chested arm wrestling and Chayo with an envelope scenes? Where was she last night? What's in the envelope?!

I thought for sure Rafa would spy Isa in the background of those pics of Vivi that he was oogling.

Let's hope that when Vivi reveals her love to Rafa it is not at his hospital bed.

Brainfreeze moment: Is Abe Miriam's missing brother?

Yes. Abe is Miriam's brother. I think he is also her only relative at this point.

UA - great recap. Enjoyed your detail on the clothes, especially since most everyone got to dress out of their norm last night.

Agree Teresa and Dante looked good together. Maybe Teresa could get over that one true love thing she felt for Mariano. But then who's around for Mariano?

I too am so ready for Chayo to lower the boom on Hissadora. Tonight, please.

Before, I didn't see Abe as an evil guy, just a misguided one trying to protect his sister. But the law man has been breaking laws right and left to obstruct justice. If Miriam is alive (and I think she is), maybe she's still ill because I don't think she'd believe Abe about Daniel and willingly go into hiding with him.

I did catch Laura Carmine in Quien Eres Tu. Thought she did a good job playing the twins, and she looks great. Storyline looks promising.

UA: Por Ella Soy Eva is the next one to finish. Maybe FC's is going to take over that time slot. I hope so. That is the best time slot for me.

Also, I was the one who mentioned Abrazame Muy Fuerte (saw Dio and Rosario. She was quite pretty.) I scanned it just to see what it was about. It looks really good. Unfortunately, I can only commit to one TN at a time--as it is I'll probably be overlapping FC's and AB for a few weeks. Too bad they always show these good, older TN's when I'm already commtted to a new one--I missed the last Alborada airing because of that.

UA: Another stellar recap.

I think I saw a teeny tiny bit of yellow in Nat’s dress. But that may have been my imagination. However, I can’t believe she didn’t have her signature color somewhere.

Who for Dante? Once Teresa and Mariano meet up again, I’m afraid he’s going to be out in the cold.

Vivi: ‘The other thing I liked about the pizza scene was when Vivi said she wanted to be truthful with them all about what's going on, and Dan gestured to Cami and said, "or else SOMEONE would be mad."’—I missed that. How cute.

Karen: “When Dio asked Isa to do the right thing (give the ranch to Cam), Cam's face said to me, oh my goodness Dan is right and this guy is attracted to me. Ewwwwww!”—I missed that, too. So glad for everyone here who catches what I miss.

RlaO: “Let's hope that when Vivi reveals her love to Rafa it is not at his hospital bed. “—I was thinking the same thing. I was also thinking “not another visit to the hospital!”

Nanette

There was a splash of yellow on the right hip of Nat's dress.

Vivi: I've noticed other times when there has only been a bit of yellow on her clothes. Do you think it depends on what's going on in her life on how much yellow she wears, or am I obsessively overanalyzing. :)

Amanda should just turn the hostal into a recovery ward for the the MQ family and friends. There are still a lot of characters who have yet to have a stay at the Metepec hospital-- Amanda, Gussy, Natalia, even Isa (who has sent most of our characters to the hospital).

Osvaldo came to an incorrect conclusion about why Dio sent someone to stab him, and Amanda did not make an effort to clarify. In fact, Dio and Isa knew nothing of Os's plan to meet Al to get him to sign over La MQ. Dio's only motive was to intimidate Amanda and keep her from planning to leave.

Nanette- I'm not sure. We'll have to keep an eye on her wardrobe and see if the times when she only wears a little yellow corresponds to anything happening in her life. Things have been pretty quiet with her the last few episodes.

I have noticed that Camila's headbands have gone completely away since Xi died, she's been wearing her hair with pieces on either side twisted and pinned to hold the rest of her hair back. Otherwise, she just wears her hair free.

I hate headbands on our reinas; they're for little girls and brats like Claudia in Eva.

Which has about another 50 episodes left.

Vivi: Re: Cam's hair. I like this new look better. Not that I have anything against headbands, but hers were a bit too little girly.

UA, thanks for a great A+ recap. You clarified points that I either missed or misinterpreted in several of the conversations (especially the one between Abe and his colleague). Although I have no idea where that's going I can sense that Teresa may be in trouble.

Does anyone in viewerville think that Dante might be in on Abe's scheme? I hope not. I'd like to see him and Teresa couple up. (Sorry Mariano, but we don't want to hook you up with someone merely out of sympathy).

That bedroom scene the other night confused me about Cami and Dan's living arrangement. Has Dan moved into Cami's cabana?

I'm hoping that Alonzo's Will, phony or not merely states "mother" as beneficiary without naming Isa. If that is the case then we know that it will be proven that Chayo is his mother. I think that the agreement Chayo made with Alonzo is to turn the ranch back to Cami. Chayo witnessed Cami lovingly placing the flower on the grave and she is aware that her son's dying words was how much he loved Cami.

I like the new look too. But I have nothing against headbands. The only ones I didn't like were the ones with the BIG bows. Otherwise, I really didn't notice them or was bugged by them.

Foxy- Considering how many times we've seen then snuggling in bed and getting dressed in the morning, I'd definitely say that Dan has permanently moved into the cabana. Even when their relationship was a secret, he only ever went back to his room to change clothes. Now that they are out in the open, there's no reason for him to live anywhere else.

I don't see Dante being in on Abe's shenanigans. He knew that Miriam and Daniel loved each other and I don't think he would have let Miriam marry Daniel if he had detected anything off or done the health and life insurance deals.

It was the silver headband with the bow I hated the most. It never matched her outfit she wore with it.

Hooray!! after much trial and error I finally created an avatar (showing off a sunny Florida beach scene).

Had Isa had any dealings with Alonzo's lawyer prior to the phone call she made a just before Alonzo died? (If I remember correctly we were not privy to what was discussed during that call.)

OK. Flaco wants to weigh in on the Vivi/Aaron conversation.

He says Vivi will be an Agstina when she gets older because she alows other people to tell her how she feels. if Aaron would have told her she's in love with the mailman, she would have said she was in love with the mailman. And that the end of the scene she had a stupid, smiley Mickey Mouse face and was all happy.

Thanks for the recap, UA. I rely on you guys.

I think Teresa should end up with Aaron, myself, since they are both do-gooders for the less fortunate.

When I made my list of single guys and ladies, I came up one male long, as I included Dante. I could not come up with anyone for him.
Rosario? :):)

Cindy

Cindy- Well, we can take Vivi and Rafa off the singles list now, so that leaves these single women: Natalia, Teresa, Maria Elena, Miriam (if she's alive), Iliana, and Irene.

Single men are: Rodolfo, Yago, Aaron, Dante, Mariano, Tolentino.

Oh boy! What an episode!

Before I thought Abraham was just a jerk misinterpreting everything about Daniel, but now he seems to be hiding a secret, but what could it be? He seems to be even more of a jerk than he is.

As for Isadora, I enjoyed the scene where Camila told her off for her assassination attempt. I wonder if Rosario will meet up with Camila later on.

We'll have to find out tonight. I hope Camila and Daniel will reclaim La Malquerida.

Foxy - love the avatar! How did you read my mind about where I wish I was?

Nanette y Flaco - That really was so odd how Vivi decided she was in love with Rafa because Aaron told her so. Hopefully the fact that she left her icky husband shows she won't end up being an Agustina.

I think Aaron is the one who will remain woman-less. I think he swings the other way. Maybe *he'll* be the one to get Dante.

RlaO: I think either Aaron is gay or he's a great candidate for the priesthood. I'm leaning toward his being hetero, but more interested in doing good works than carnal knowledge.

Yes, as darling as he is, he still sends off an asexual vibe.

UA, I love the spangled black fan. It makes me want to dance and flirt and go out somewhere dressy.
La Paloma

Rosemary la Otra, I'm glad you liked my sunny avatar. FL is my retirement escape from Buffalo, NY my hometown. My sister just informed me that it's 29 degrees in Bflo today compared to 78 degrees here in southern FL..

Aaron just needs to meet the right woman. Or person. If he is giving off an asexual vibe, it could be because he is not attracted to Vivi.

I am not a fan of headbands on grownups and especially not ones with sparkles or bows. I really like Camila's new hair style. The headbands look fine on her mini-me, AKA Ana.

Flaco was saying the other day that there's probably one more good guy who's going to die. If he's right--who could it be?

Carolina: Maybe New Girl for Aaron? I was thinking New Girl for Dante, since I'm thinking Teresa and Mariano may hook up. Who knows? Maybe Mariano will just stay single, pining away for Cam for the rest of his life.

Here's hoping tonight Chayo shows up with the manila envelope as I won't be seeing any episodes live for the next few days (but will check in to CarayCaray).

There was one other snippet from the Vivi-Aaron conversation that might shed some light on the discussion. When Viv told Aa that she was confused by her feelings, that when she was with Aa, she felt at peace, safe, secure. (This is odd because this is exactly what Cami told Dan when they first declared their love for each other and he told her that with him she could always be 'tu,' meaning herself, never having to bend or blend to please him.)

Aa's answer to her was that what she was doing was holding up a mirror in front of him and seeing her own reflection and not seeing the kind of love she would have with a partner. Then he tells her that what that kind of love needs is passion...and then I didn't pay attention to the rest, but I think it had something to do with not being satified with just being herself.

Basically, I think he was trying to tell her that she needs an opposite to attract, not one just like her. That may work for a lot of folks, or so the saying goes, but many need and lead harmonious lives with some one they feel are most like them (IMHO).

Foxy--I like your avatar, too. I would have expected a cute little fox, but sunny FL is ok by me. I hope my son can help me this week to pick something for me--I'm tired of being a blank nobody!

Nanette - Hmmm. I don't see anyone we have available as right for Aaron. He needs someone unconventional and preferably dressed in hippie garb. I guess I haven't found the right woman/person for him, either. :)

I think Aaron is wise and insightful, but Vivi has been too dependent on him telling her what to feel. She dumped Bruno, but as I understand it, Gussie dumped FX. However, I think Vivi will be ok. I think or at least hope she has learned from the Bruno disaster and if she ends up with Rafa, they'll be happy together.

Anita, I'm going to miss a few episodes, too, and will be without internet access for a few days. I'm really addicted to this show; it's going to be tough.

Thanks for another great recap, UA. I barely recognized Abe last night, thanks for confirming that was he for me.

I'm not so sure about Vivi and Rafa. I think that the chemistry is better between her and Aaron even though he has this prodigy Yoda thing going on. Generally I don't care for smug gentle know-it-alls, but this guy is really likable.

Carlos

Anita - a blank nobody? Never!

How about an asterisk * to symbolize your TN entrepreneurial spirit?

Carlos, usually I hate to see the tired stereotype of a hippie on a tv show, but this time they made him smart and likable.

Carolina- Gussy didn't dump FX. He stole her money, dumped her, and ran off with a friend of hers.

I don't see Vivi being like Gussy AT ALL! Blech! In fact, what Vivi has been doing in the exact opposite of Gussy. After a bad experience, Vivi was cutting herself off from feeling passion for a new man, or jumping into another relationship because of the risk it would represent. Gussy will jump on any new man who comes along and floats her boat.

What Aaron pointed out to Vivi is that he senses the attraction and underlying passion between Vivi and Rafa-- feelings she has been trying to suppress and deny. Remember she said she felt TODO when she and Rafa kissed, and we have seen plenty of near kisses between them. She said to Aaron that she and Bruno had passion, and she now equates passion with the fear that things will go horribly wrong. She doesn't have those kinds of feelings for Aaron and so he's safe. That's why she's latched on to the idea of being in love with him. There's no risk of feelings going out of control-- no risk of getting hurt.

Anita- I think the difference between what Cami said to Dan about feeling at peace and feeling like she could be herself with him, and what Vivi says about Aaron, is that Cami also feels passion for Dan (por supuesto!) and took a huge risk trusting her heart with him when she knew so little about him at the time.

I also think there is an asexual vibe about Aaron. He would make a very good candidate for the seminary.

Tolentino not at all. He will end up with Irene.

I don't see Dante as being gay either. He will get Teresa or Miriam and Mariano will get the other woman.

Did anyone notice how tall Camila was when she was fixing Daniel's tie in the forty shades of grey scene. She must have been standing on the bed or something and the camera never moved back to see their bodies,.

Anon 10:15- There's a step up to the level where the bed is (risen floor). Dan was standing below the step.
