Amores Verdaderos #41 Mon 1/7/13 Tomasina Likes the Way They Move

* For those who missed the wonderful *khmm* aikido scenes: while Liliana and José Ángel are warming up in the private park/garden, they are having a chat about Francisco’s deceased mother, who is actually very much alive, thank you very much. Arriaga is impactado, why did Guzmi lie about her? Because she left her children, and he never forgave his mother, that’s why, says Lili.

* Upstairs Pau-Loser is begging for her daughter’s forgiveness when suddenly Bea has a flashback about Guillo’s rejection of her. She starts crying too and tells Paula that she was angry at her but she understands how bad it hurts when a mother is rejected by her child. The mother and daughter reconcile.

* Tomasina and Victoria discuss the Little Miss’s pregnancy. They both think what happened isn’t the end of the world, but Vic is stressed out at the thought how Aníbal would react to the great news. Tomasina is more interested in Little Painter’s strange night at the hotel and she begs for more details, but they are interrupted first by Slutty McSlutterson who came to visit Nikki, then by Guzmáncito who came to tell Victoria that since she obviously doesn’t trust him anymore, he decided to quit the job. Little Painter is impactada: no way, young man, you’re not going anywhere! Naturalmente Nabila is secretly listening to every word they say.

* Lili and José Ángel are practicing mae geris (front kicks) in the park. Not that I don’t love Arriaga, but he moves slower than Steven Seagal after a good dinner, so I don’t mind it at all when his furious wife storms out of the building, tells Little Orchid to leave them alone and sticks the letter under his nose. What did you do last night?! At first he tries to talk his way out of the uncomfortable situation (look, mujer, it’s an anonymous letter) but then he has no choice but to admit that he was in a hotel… with Sra. Victoria. Boom. Chrissie’s heart breaks.

* In the working room Guzmán tries to convince Victoria that Nikki is lying to get rid of him. Vic asks him to say a little bit more until she clarifies the situation, and then she brings out the 64 million dollar question: Guzmán, look at me in the eye and tell me, did you sleep with my daughter? Frankie swears vehemently that he didn’t.

* Nikki tells Nabila that of course she isn’t preggers, she just advantage of that assumption to kick Guzmáncito out of the house. *Viewerville: come on girl, use your starving brain cells, you’re a telenovela heroine, if you keep this lie up, you may even have to marry him* Mommy Victoria runs into the room and tells Nikki pooh that she’d better not be lying about because if this is just a mean joke, she’ll be in a trouble bigger than Big Ed’s shoulders. Bratty gulps and then she carries on playing the innocent victim: it deeply hurts her than Victoria trusts an employee more than her own daughter, okay? And in the meantime we can hear Little Painter’s inner monologue: “please God, give me tolerance and patience”.

 * DRAMA in the park! Cristina is hurt and outraged, José Ángel pulls eyes, tears and kisses in order to convince her… Chrissie’s lines, Angel’s lines. Finally Cristina can’t take more so she runs into the house.

* Bea calls Leo the Low to find out why he set her up last night. It turns out Leonardito’s pride was hurt because the date was her idea and she has no right to order him around. Bea sighs and tries to take the higher road: all right, he can spend the night with Guillo but please take him school next day.

* In front of the entrance of the Balvanera’s mansion Guzmáncito notices a suspicious car that has been parking there for a while. He asks the driver to go away because he’s parking at private property, but guess who’s sitting in that car? Yes, it’s Mommy Dearest. And yes, Blondie is im-pac-ta-do.

* Tomasina, Vicky and Arriaga hold a crisis meeting in the working room to watch the very super-special-limited-director’s-cut DVD edition of the striptease scene at the hotel. Victoria is embarrassed, Angel is embarrassed-but-amused (he even starts dancing again, LOL), and I’m sure Tomasina just wants them to get the hell out of the room and let her watch the DVD at last. But uhh-ohh, the Furminator enters the scene and the two kids from the kindergarten have a suspiciously guilty look on their face. What are they watching there, what’s that music? Vicky quickly jumps into Nelson’s arms and kisses him while Arriaga’s coughs EXTREMELY LOUDLY to cover up the music and he desperately tries to turn the notebook down. They are hilarious.

* Salsero calls Kendho to inform her that he gave their little gift to the Balvaneras.

* Outside Frankie and Paula have a nice (NOT) mother-son conversation: she begs him to listen to her, she left her lover, she’s ready to anything to regain Blondie’s trust, but he swears he’ll never forgive her and she’s dead to him. Paula’s lines, Guzmán’s lines, manly tears and aching hearts. We learn that Paula’s and Felipe’s relationship went down the toilet when they lost everything (their house, their cars and his company) because of his gambling addiction.

* In the working room Angel tells Victoria about the anonymous letter and they agree there must be a sick mind behind all these schemes. Suddenly Vicky has an epiphany and she realizes there’s one person who would love to ruin her reputation and her life: Odiodette Longoria! Angel is devastated: come on, that lady advertises the most delicious products, and no offense, Sra. Balvanera, but that cheese and that yogurt are like heaven! *Viewerville: LOL* All right, all right, Victoria says he may eat whatever he wants, but she’ll call that witch and have a serious conversation with her.

 * At the Arriagas’ Cristina’s chopping some poor vegetable and probably she’s imagining they’re Victoria’s greedy little manicured hands. She tells Lili that she wishes to go back to the countryside with her and José Ángel. Little Orchid smells the jealousy and advices her to be nicer to daddy. Chrissie starts panicking again: oh noes, what did the Angel tell to Lili, does he want a divorce? Please, tell her! Liliana flees from the flat, leaving a confused Cristina behind: oh God, I’ll die if José Ángel leaves me, but if he keeps working for that woman, I’ll be eaten up by jealousy.

* Candelaria (wow, when did she see her the last time, a month ago?) receives a letter from Mexico D.F. She immediately turns into a blushing young girl and she whispers that it’s from Aníbal… he answered her letter at last. In the meantime Aníbal and Antonio talk about Grandpa’s exciting love life: the only woman he ever loved was Candelaria Corona.

* In the Balvaneras’ kitchen Victoria orders the servants to give her every single mail and package that’s delivered to the house. The she calls the Wicked Witch and tells her she wants to meet her ahora mismo (right now) and she does not accept a no for an answer!

* In her art studio Victoria finally shows Tomasina The DVD of Doom, our beloved Tomasina, the founder of the Victoria & Arriaga Fanclub is totally enthusiastic about it. She didn’t know Victoria could dance like that, and look, look at Arriaga of the Apes: he’s HOT! Let’s rewatch the video in slow motion so that they won’t skip any detail! The blushing Victoria tells her to stop and when Tomasina asks her about José Ángel (doesn’t she think he looks great half naked?) she answers that she doesn’t view him as a man but as a kind protector. Oh puhlease. Tomasina knows Vicky would never cheat on her fantastic husband, but come on, doesn’t she like her bodyguard… at least a little bit. The answer is no. Victoria destroys the DVD, no matter how much Tomasina protests.

* While José Ángel is having dinner at home, Chrissie, who’s still thinking about Liliana’s words, shyly asks him if he really thinks she’s been an unbearable wife. Oh come on, mujer, don’t exaggerate. He informs her about Odette’s scheming and it seems she finally accepts his explanations. Oh, they look happy again, at last.

* Kendrat arrives at the Balvaneras where Nikki tells her that everyone thinks she’s carrying the gorillita’s child. Qué funny! She wants to go to the gym but Mommy Pooh stops her. No, darling, you can’t go to the club now, you have to visit your gynecologist! The members of Viewerville are laughing their collective heads off.

Aribeth--- Can't wait for your always marvelous recap. What an epi this was!

I really loved the fact that once confronted with that letter Cris got, the Angel fessed up and told her the truth! Good for him. And that DVD and Angel and Ms Vikki hiding it from Nilson, too funny! Love Tomasina and she was sooo in luuurvve with that DVD, lol.

Best part was when Ms Vikki said she is taking Nikki to the gyno. YAY!!!

When you see a great picture and an excellent title, you know an outstanding recap is on the way. Aribeth, I cannot wait to hear your take on this!

So good to be back. I'm going to try and catch up on the recaps that I've missed. Thanks in advance to what I know will be terrific summaries. Looking forward to seeing what everyone's reaction was to Bea and DWS! Intriging and unexpected...But before I get too excited, has DWS committed murder? I mean his evil machinations thus far still elevate him above Bea's brutish husband, but I would hate to see her crushed by DWS's very bad past (if indeed he can change). That said, boy, they looked great on the dance floor!

I also loved the Vikki and Angel naughty romp (I'm with you Tomasina). Madelaine, I am also relieved Angel confessed but surprised Cris accepted the explanation! Don't think Vikki is going to be so lucky with Nelson though.

Let's get this Nikki pregnancy charade over and done with. Pronto. Between Nikki and his mother, Guzman had a very bad day.

Can't wait to read the recap!

Diana

I can't decide who is the bigger brat: Nikki or Claudia of Por Ella Soy Eva. They both deserve a bloody good hiding with a riding crop.

Nikki can at least be pretty funny - okay. :D

Diana - Welcome back! So far, they haven't shown DWS killing anyone. That's not a sterling endorsement for a romance with Beatriz, but he seems to be a different person with her.

I too am glad Angel told Cris the truth (though leaving out the near-nekkid dancing part). Cris is trying to overcome her jealousy - at least she admits to herself that she's got a problem. I thought it was strange that she added "and papa" when she wished to have her mama for counsel since she never knew her father

I want to mention something I thought about from the weekend recap. Ms Vikki knows that Nabila likes to play jokes, remember she told Angel that when Nabila "fainted" a couple epi's ago. Why didn't Ms Vikki think of that with this preggers thingy. I think now maybe she has a clue after talking to Guzmi again.

Aribeth---Thanks in advance---Can't wait.

I'm with Urban, The brat needs a good spanking.

Carlos---What do you think?

Recap is up.

Diana, amiga, I'm so happy to see you here again!

Tomasina shined in this episode.

Gringo, as I've said, Nikki is selfish, shallow, and silly, but I get such a kick out of watching her create the storm that constantly swirls around her. Maybe my enjoyment stems at least partly from relief that she's someone else's daughter.

Before long she will do something incredibly sweet and everyone will adore her until her next naughty deed.

Carlos

Aribeth - Thanks for the laughs and pics.

Nell-Son actually made me laugh last night. When Arriaga was coughing so hard to disguise the DVD audio, Nell-Son looked at Vickie like "get this sick man with his cooties outa here."

Hmmm, so Candelaria is still in love with Anibal.

Looks like Guzman is going to turn the tables on Nikki tonight - while shirtless. Goodie.

Great job again Aribeth!
Ismét felülmúltad önmagadat!

Unfortunately no Sals. and Bea development in this ep.

my favourite line is - Not that I don’t love Arriaga, but he moves slower than Steven Seagal after a good dinner
lol, sooo true!!

Bea let Mommy off the hook very easily, not so Guzmi thank God, I do not like when guilty-bad characters just been forgiven at once, let them suffer a bit, like they made you suffer.. Am I the only one who think like this??

Let's see how our bratgirl gets out of the mess she created.

Curious, how Viki knew at first sight the DVD contained video? I didn't see any title on the package or the DVD itself, could have been photos, music whatever..couldn't it??

Tomi's reaction was great, she definitely likes the way they move and looked very dissapointed when Viki crushed the dvd.

Thank you Aribeth! I can't believe that Niki is keeping this "joke" going. I really hope she's exposed tonight.

I was glad that JA told Cris (most of) the truth. But surely she will learn about the striptease dance, and be even more angry than before. She and JA had a conversation about how not telling something isn't the same as lying about it, if you've made a promise to someone or if it's to protect someone. They both agreed on this. I think JA was thinking about keeping the hotel room dancing secret, and Cris was thinking about Paula's secret.

Irisz- I think Bea would have had every right to continue to be mad at Paula. But I understand her having compassion for Paula after just being on her knees begging Guillo to talk to her. That actually showed what a mature person Bea is to be able to see the similarities in the situation, although she has done nothing to deserve Guillo's scorn, while Paula does deserve her children's scorn.

I notice Paula didn't mention to Guzman that she had another choice besides stay with her loser husband or run off with her rich lover (alone)-- kick loser husband out/leave him and take care of her kids on her own.

Aribeth--What a wonderful funny recap. I had to laugh at Tomi and the DVD, so funny.

Good to see Candelaria! I was hoping she was going to the D.F. pretty soon and Cris I know said she wanted her Mama after Lili left, probrecita!

Carlos, I am with you about Nikki's little things she does, but I thought she would let Guzmi off the hook already. I'm glad her Mama is takin' her to the gyno, lol.

Like the nickname for Leo. Leo the Low. What an asshat. I hope Bea doesn't cave to him again.

Thanks for the recap Aribeth---Niki the esquincla is so busted. Gee, who do I dislike more, Leo or Nikki? Oh noes, I can't decide.

I absolutely loved the scene in the despacho where Vicki and Arriaga are trying to prevent Nill-son from seeing the DVD. They were so adorable in their hysteria.

Also loved the scene where Angel is scarfing up Cris's cooking and slurping the guacamole or maybe cactus gravy from the molcajete. A bad scene to watch if you're hungry!

I'm looking forward to Ana Martin (Candelaria) being more active in the novela. She's got to be the greatest icon Televisa has.

Thanks for the great recap, Aribeth. Your photo selections are excellent and very well-chosen.

Rarely will you hear me grumble about a character (especially one of the ladies), but my patience with Paula is wearing very thin. Please give me Nikki's exuberant self-centeredness any day over Paula's sad self-pity. Maybe she could benefit from a sip or two of Baileys or a frisky boink from Anibal.

Carlos

Thanks, Aribeth,

Another great recap with terrific screen shots. I too love the name "Leo the Low," and from a previous recap, "Nihil-son."

I have a good friend who abandoned her 3 children when she was a young mother, and did not reconcile with one of them for 20 years. She was the oldest of 12 children who always had to help her mother with the younger children. She dropped out of high school and married a guy who looked just like Elvis P. Unfortunately,he was a drinker and a womanizer, and she couldn't take it anymore. She went from the frying pan into the fire because the second guy, with whom she moved out of state, was worse than the first, but he rarely worked,so she supported him. She knew she had made a horrible mistake but she didn't know how to go back, and she had a steady job that she did not want to lose. She knows that it was the biggest mistake of her life; she will always suffer for it, and because of this neglect, two of her kids have been messed up big time for years. She really is a good, honest hardworking person, but she just couldn't cope, and she had no support group.

Unlike Paula, she did not hook up with a mean of means. Paula is fortunate that her children are responsible and doing well.

Aribeth - Thank you for the recap. There were lots of snark-worthy scenes in this fun episode, and you captured them all. :-)

Cristina chopping those veggies sounded like an ax whacking on steel. Sound effects guy was getting carried away.

Aribeth, you were on fire. The screen shots marvelous, all.

Your recap was fantastic, brimming with amazing lines including: "he moves slower than Steven Seagal after a good dinner", "use your starving brain cells, you’re a telenovela heroine, if you keep this lie up, you may even have to marry him", "he moves slower than Steven Seagal after a good dinner", and my absolute favorite, "Cristina’s chopping some poor vegetable and probably she’s imagining they’re Victoria’s greedy little manicured hands". Most excellent!

Poor Frankie has been having a terrible time. You can see and feel for the little boy inside who is still hurting and grieving for the mother who abandoned him. There is no excuse (sorry Carlos!) for what Nikki is doing to him...

Bea is one of my favorites here. Remembering the hurt of her sons rejection, she forgives her mother. She has such a kind, loving heart.

Would have loved to have seen Cris' reaction to the tape. Probably a good thing she won't see it.

Wonderful comments all!

Again Aribeth, you rocked. Totally.

Diana
