Amor Bravío #97 (Uni 92) Thu 1/3/13 Amor Comprobado

Pablo and Luzma are having a pre-matrimonial chat with Padre Anselmo.  Pablo hedges about his baptism certificate, saying his mom…er…couldn’t find it.  Padre Anselmo says somehow his dad did manage to and he sent it over earlier.  "I have a feeling your dad is coming around."  Pablo and Luzma are shocked and delighted.

In the hospital cafeteria, Isadora continues flirting with Cayetano, playing the damsel in distress, needing a big manly shoulder to lean on.  Cayetano has been so drawn in that he extends an offer of money to help her.  Dumb.  Ass.  Isa whines that she might have to move away from there and find a job like a normal person.  Cayetano says no worries, he'll help her.  She just needs to concentrate on her own needs.  Yeah, that's just the way Isa likes it.  She says she  wants him in her life for good.  Yuck!

Ileana came over to La Malquerida to see Rodolfo.  She tells him the Albarrans found out about them "dating" and she's pissed about how it went down, how snooty Yago was.  Rodolfo thinks it's funny, but Ileana says that's love, baby…the worse they treat you, the more you want them.  "Isn't that the way it is with you and Natalia?"  Rodolfo says sure thing…in fact, Natalia was quizzing him about her today and boy was she surprised to hear that Ileana is the love of his life.  Ileana says now that the Albarrans know about "them" they ought to tell everyone else.  Eleuterio already knows, since he saw them together the other day, but sure, if Princess wants everyone to know, Rodolfo will go along with that.  He looks less comfortable about going along with Ileana rubbing up against him, but I'm sure he'll get over it.

In the hospital waiting room, Amanda tells the freshly arrived Daniel and Camila that Osvaldo is out of surgery and was stabbed and mugged right in front of his office.  Isadora arrives on Cayetano's arm.  She needles Camila about not coming to visit her husband earlier…"Ex-husband, thanks, and why would I want to visit a man who kidnapped me?"  Isadora and Daniel trade barbs about the terrible violence in these parts and who's responsible for it.  "Maybe you're not responsible for what happened to Becerra, but you are responsible for what happened to Camila and I."  Isadora reminds him not to accuse her without proof.  She threatens to sue for slander and Rafa says it sure would be interesting to see what the cops would dig up about her in the process.  Isa keeps playing innocent in front of Cayetano, who finally tells everyone to back off.  He hopes he's made it clear that Isadora isn't alone and no one will be allowed to treat her that way.  They swan off and everyone comments on that strange new relationship.  Daniel is suspicious, like he's suspicious of everything else to do with Isadora.

Meanwhile, at the house of Doña Vivi, sin sus dos maridos, she pines for her men while looking at pictures.

It's time for a coffee break in the hospital waiting area.  Everyone argues about who's staying and who's going, since Natalia's alone with all the hostel guests.  It's nearly decided that Aaron and Rafa will go and Daniel and Camila will stay with Amanda when a nurse arrives to say that there's a call for Amanda.  She transfers it to the lobby phone.  It's Dionisio calling to tell her that what happened to Osvaldo was only a warning. "So stop planning to leave here with him, because next time…don't count on it."

Amanda gets off the phone and very nervously claims it was a wrong number, not a call for her.  They all think it's bogus and she's hiding something from them.

Amanda goes to the chapel to pray for protection from Dionisio.  She's upset Osvaldo was hurt just for helping her.  She prays for strength to resist him and for some idea of what to do.  She doesn't think she can tell anyone or she'll put their lives at risk.  Camila joins her and tells her Osvaldo will be fine.  "I don't want to push, but is there something that's worrying you besides what happened to Osvaldo?"  Amanda says there's nothing else.

Piedad calls Hipolito to invite him to Luzma's wedding.  As her date?  I hope Piedad's alleged "party" dress can overcome the shyness on both ends.

Juarez tells Alonso that Osvaldo was assaulted and is also a patient.  It wasn't serious, but he'll need a few days to recover.  Alonso starts to get agitated, saying they must have found out Osvaldo was coming to see him and they're trying to stop him.  Juarez says the two of them are the only ones who knew, but Becerra isn't a criminal lawyer, in any case, so it's better if Alonso hires someone else.  Alonso says he didn't want Becerra to defend him, he wanted to talk to him because he's the only one who can help him.  Juarez explains if he won't hire himself another lawyer, then he's going to have to settle for a public defender.

Natalia and Amanda come in to visit Osvaldo. Natalia wants to know how it happened and if he saw who had done it.  Amanda cuts off the interrogation, but Natalia is determined--she thinks it's suspicious they would attack him so violently just to get his watch.  Osvaldo asks if Alonso is still in the hospital.  He wants to try to go see him before they transfer him to a jail.

Camila is trying to convince a whiny Daniel to sit down with the family for breakfast.  She wants him to sit at the head of the table.  Piedad interrupts them sucking face in the big chair.  Daniel refuses to let her call him "Mr. Daniel."  He doesn't want her or anyone else to stop calling him just Daniel.  Camila is happy about that.  Dionisio and Agustina come in and Camila greets them, then ignores their pissy glares.  Agustina and Camila spar over Daniel sitting at the table, "Getting comfortable around here, aren't you?"  "Well, Uncle Daniel did leave the place to him."  Agustina moves Dionisio's place setting to the opposite end of the table and requests just coffee from Piedad, since she's lost her appetite.  Agustina and Dio trade grumpy looks.  Haters.

At school, Luzma invites her friends to the wedding on Saturday.  She finally admits she may have been too hard on Irene and asks her to be her bridesmaid.  "So you've forgiven me?"  Yep.

Camila tells Agustina that Luzma and Pablo are getting married on Saturday, so she's basically given the staff the day off.  She and Daniel are also planning to attend, even though Agustina wants her to stay home and weep and wail over the loss of poor Ximena.  Camila says mourning is something you carry inside, but life goes on.  Dionisio agrees with her.  Daniel announces they're heading out now to visit Osvaldo.  Agustina hasn't heard what happened.  Daniel seems suspicious of Dionisio's reaction.  Dionisio is surprised at Agustina's reaction and she hopefully asks if he's jealous.  Dionisio laughs and says he'd be an idiot if he got jealous of Becerra or anyone else.  Pobre de Agustina did not like that answer!

Pablo lets Daniel and Camila know that Amanda is organizing the wedding party.  Camila knew, but with what happened to Osvaldo she forgot to tell Daniel.  Daniel figures Pablo must know what happened to Osvaldo since Cayetano was there with Isadora.  Pablo's surprised about the "Isadora" part, but he's the one who told his dad about Osvaldo, so that he knew.  Camila tells Pablo that she knows she's butting in, but she feels like she needs to warn him that Isadora is bad news and she finds it suspicious that Isa is cozying up to his dad.  Pablo says his mom doesn't like it much either.  Daniel advises Pablo to warn his dad.  Oh, cause parents always take it so well when their kids try to give them advice.

Cayetano announces to Uppity Bitch that he's going to Pablo's wedding.  He also won't cop to "someone" having convinced him, though she's convinced Isadora must have a hand in it.  Cayetano says he's just done fighting a losing battle with Pablo.  He's going to the wedding whether she likes it or not! Nana comes in and says she agrees with Cayetano and Snotty Bitch needs to chill already.  "Just because they see each other more often doesn't mean they'll figure anything out.  Only two people know…you and I, and we're taking the secret to our graves!"

Pablo tells Camila and Daniel that he's interviewed a replacement for Natalia.  Camila and Daniel don't think it's a good idea to hire anyone else with all the uncertainty about what's going to happen to the ranch.  Pablo agrees to let her know.  He's going to go visit his mom and Yago and go look for a house for himself and Luzma.  Daniel says they can always live on the ranch.  Camila would like to lend them the house in town, but since she doesn't know what's going to happen.…  Pablo says he and Luzma will talk it over and they'll figure something out.  Daniel waxes rhapsodic about being together being the important thing, no matter where you are.

Rosario sneaks into the med locker and almost gets busted by one of the other nurses, but she makes the excuse that what she was sticking in her pocket was a tissue.  "Allergies again."

Pablo asks Yago to be one of the witnesses for the wedding.  Yago agrees.  Pablo tells him their dad seems to have changed his mind.  He even delivered the baptism certificate to Padre Anselmo.  Yago gets pouty about how Pablo's the favorite who can do no wrong.

Isadora comes back to La Malquerida and Agustina yells at her for being there.  Isadora calls her uncharitable.  "You don't deserve any consideration from me after what your son did to my daughters!"  Isadora plays the "quadriplegic and going to jail" card and turns on the waterworks.  She lays on one last bit of guilt saying she can't turn her back on her son any more than Isadora could have turned her back on Ximena had she been the one to survive.

Amanda won't leave the hospital.  Daniel and Camila finally convince her they'll keep an eye on Osvaldo and she agrees to leave, but just for a little while.  The nurse will let them know when Osvaldo can have visitors again.  Amanda and Natalia leave together.  Camila wants to see Alonso, but she wants to go alone.  She knows they won't let her into his room, but she just wants to see him from the hallway.

Alonso sees her and starts saying "Camila, I love you.  Forgive me!"  She spooks and he shouts after her "Forgive me!  Forgive me!"

Pablo comes into the living room and apologizes for being snippy with his mother the other day.  She keeps insisting he's making a mistake and she won't go to the wedding.  "Then I won't insist.  This is the last time I ask you to be at my wedding."  Snotty Bitch says she just can't help it, she can't see him with that girl!  Plus he set a bad example for Yago who's now rolling around in the hay with the secretary.  The secretary!  Pablo is not going to renounce his love just to please her.  "If I can't have my whole family there on the happiest day of my life, well I guess that's too bad."

Rosario goes into Alonso's room.  He's moaning and tells her he has to tell "her" that he loves her and that his love for her was real.  Alonso is pleased that Rosario told Isadora what she was going to do.  He says it's the only way to get payback for everything she did to him.  So everyone will know the truth.  "I want to have a clear conscience and do things the way I should have done them from the beginning.  Camila will know I love her with deeds, not words.  Thank you for helping me."  Rosario sobs that she just wants to see him calm and happy as long as God will let her.  "I prayed for many years for the opportunity to see you again and my prayer was answered.  I can leave this world now having held you and told you that I'm your mother….this has made my life worth it.  Can I give you a kiss?"  Alonso agrees. Alonso says he believes now that she is his mother.  "My life would have been so different with you, mama."

Isadora crows that thanks to Don Daniel's generosity, she'll be the owner of both La Malquerida and La Buenaventura.

Alonso remembers marrying Camila; having palpitations and Isadora telling him to get his medication himself; Ximena telling him she liked sharing secrets and life was meant to be lived, not suffered; trying to rape Camila; Isadora telling him he'd always be a loser; telling Ximena she's the only woman who's loved him for who he is; trying to apologize to Camila; the car going over the cliff and exploding; telling Ximena he doesn't know what would have happened if he'd never met Camila; kissing Camila on their honeymoon.  Rosario gives him the injection and his heart stops almost immediately.  Rosario weeps over the body.

Tomorrow: Alonso is dead; Isadora thinks she's rich; Juarez wants to talk to Isadora about Alonso's accusation that she tried to murder him.

Happy New Year everyone!

I'm hoping the promo monkeys aren't yanking my chain with Isadora's comeuppance beginning. I'll relish seeing that harpy taken down a notch!

Next week I get to sing for a few minutes of The Planets. I hear we're going to be singing from offstage. Meanwhile, the audience gets to watch the video screen with NASA footage while listening to the symphony...no fair!

I wonder how assisted suicide will help Alonso get back Isadora?

I had to roll my eyes at Agustina getting mad that Daniel was sitting at the head of the table. It WAS his house, ya know.

Also laughed when Dionisio busted Agustina's bubble about not being jealous of Becerra. Even if Dionisio was on the up and up, why would he be "jellus" of Becerra?* Gussy made it clear to Becerra she was not interested in him and he moved on a long time ago. Silly Gussy so desperately wants to be the cat's meow but she doesn't realize the joke's on her and the joke IS her.

*Dionisio would only be "jellus" of Becerra because of Amanda, not Gussy.

That's right; no fair!

However, this recap is great. Can't sleep, so here I am.

Obviously we are not privy to whatever Alonssso had cooked up. Whatever it is I hope I catch it in Monday's episode. I just hope something can happen before they find out that Rosario did this because she will likely go to the women's carcel for it.

Prediction: Hissadora will show the photo to Cayetano and that will start a royal fight that will lead to the revelation of The Big Secret.

Since Daniel knows that El Diablo is Natalia's sperm donor he will probably figure out Amanda's problem.

Do you think it's possible Al got a lawyer (who would be allowed in to see him) and "signed" over the ranch to Cam? He did say he was making it up to Cam with deeds.

Wouldn't it be a big joke on Isa if he signed over the ranch to his real mama?

Lots of great stuff in this eppy! (I apologize in advance for what may be a long post, but I thought this eppy had a lot of little things to comment on.)

Lol Nanette I hadn't even considered that! That would be hilarious to see Hissadora react to Al signing it over to Chayo and making her promise to give it to Cami.

Part of me is annoyed that Amanda's staying silent to "protect" everyone again (I mean it certainly wouldn't stop Dio from killing whoever he wants...), but the boys aren't gonna lie to Cami again and she would def accuse Dio w/o proof and blow everything al infierno.

Nice to see Pablo so focused on the boda, though that close up of the handshake and Chippie's "que?!" still have me wondering what her role is. Now I'm just upset about the weirdness of Makes-Me-Illy and Rudolfo...

I guess Cayetano's gotta stray with Hissadora otherwise he wouldn't be able to forgive Rocio later. I mean she cheated, but he's gonna cheat with a sociopath. Also I love that she's right about Hissadora trying to slither her way into Cayetano's pant-...life, but still wrong about her convincing him to support Pablo. Just another example of how this TN treats the idea of family realistically instead of relying on COTB to direct everyone. Interesting to see that up against Yago's middle child syndrome. Also love that people react according to their character rather than jumping to weird conclusions without any reasons.

Loved Camila pointing out the ridiculousness of Hissadora's attempted guilt trip in the hospital. I mean, really why would she come to support her ex who slept with her sister, then kidnapped and tried to kill her?

Pues, Hipolito and Piedad are so cute, pues! She totally pulls of that almost teenagerish shy/flattered thing.

I continue to love the REALness of Cam and Dan. Every scene with them seems so natural. Nobody does that better than SN, and she and CdF have amazing chemistry. Dan's tomando en cuenta Gussie's feelings way too much IMO. I'm torn between understanding her amor de madre and wanting to drop kick her and scream "Jimena conspired to kill Camila, you wacko! Acknowledge it!" Even when Hypocrita Hissy, bold as brass, got up in Gussie's face, I was enjoying Gussie getting talked down. After all,she doesn't know Hissadora's a crazy-a** homicidal maniac.

O.M.G.
Flavio. Medina.
He is totally blowing his scenes out of the water. The scenes where he sees Camila and when Chayo describes her pain to him were awesome. He does an AMAZING job. Kudos to him and the director for the detail of the claw hands. His montage of the women in his life was sad, but had well chosen clips. (Further kudos to the editors that dubbed Leticia Calderon's voice onto the actress that plays her younger self).

Okay, gotta get some sleep tonight...

Thanks so much Kat!

HellaShelle- I love your attention to detail. It's exactly all the stuff that I picked up on and enjoyed. Can't wait to find out what Al and Chayo cooked up. I am sad that we won't be seeing more of Flavio.

More later.

Thanks for the recap, 5ft.
I was going to ask how/why the suicide happened and how it benefited Camila, but I see several of you are also in the dark, so we all wait to watch it unfold. I thought it was something I missed as I was traveling and did not have the subtitles to read. All the recaps were greatly appreciated while I was in FL.

Cindy

Thanks, Kat. I always look forward to your sharp and witty recaps.

From the other night: did anyone else notice how much bigger a woman -- physically -- Vivi is than Camila? I think that SN is tiny, based on her appearances elsewhere. And, apparently Vivi is a tall gal.

Back to the story. So glad that Irene is back in Luzma's good graces. It was inconsistent with Luzma's character to stay angry with a true friend for too long.

I loved the scene at the breakfast table where Agustina and Dio had to move to the other end of the table to create the illusion that Dio is in charge. His verbal cruelty to Agustina knows no bounds.

I, too, want Amanda to fess up. If only she knew how capable the Scoobies can be when working together.

Rosario could never make it as a spy. Her nervousness in the medicine room made me nuts. I certainly hope that she doesn't pay too high a price for assisting Alonso in what we certainly hope will be his revenge.

Still more than 60 episodes to go. Not a complaint -- just pointing out that we have lots of time for these various plot threads to go in several different directions before they get wrapped up.

Traveling Lady- Yeah. Vivi/Fernanda is really tall. When they kissed it looked like she and Rafa were the same height. Being a chaparrita myself, I admire tall girls like Vivi. SN/Cami is on the shorter end, but not as short as Florencia/Natalia. In every show I've seen her in, she always wears towering heels/platforms, and she's STILL the shortest one around. I would love to see her in flats standing next to Vivi one day. :)

Cindy- The writers have left the audience in the dark for now about Al's plan. But I do fear for poor Chayo, who can't keep a poker face to save her life. Now we see where Al inherited some of his nervous tendencies from.

I'm also glad that Luzma has forgiven Irene. Kudos to Irene for being patient and understanding.

I understand Amanda's fear about not telling anyone else about Dio's threats after what happened to Os. Notice she called them the muchachos. She sees them as kids, and she's protecting them, like a good mother. She was tempted for a second though, when Cami prompted her in the chapel. I'm sure the muchachos/Scooby Gang will figure it out.

When Nat and Amanda stood at the foot of Osvaldo's bed, the combination of their two signature colors was striking. Nat was wearing a very bright shade of yellow, and Amanda was wearing a bright shade of her signature coral. Standing together, with their dark hair and large eyes, they looked quite beautiful and vibrant-- the wife and daughter Os pines for.

5Ft, I so love your comments. Dumb. Ass. Indeed! Cayetano has crossed the line (he crossed the line for me a long time ago) and he is going for it, no doubt. Crystal clear. Even walking into the waiting room with Isa on his arm, not even hiding it. The rest had to be thinking WTF? If I didn't dislike Rocio (AKA Snotty Bitch, lol) as much as I do, then I wouldn't enjoy the Cayetano/Isadora pairing as much as I am. I hope they get it on.

I was really sad that Alonso died, but I can't wait to see what he and Rosario cooked up to get back at Isadora. I'm hoping a recording of her conversation with Rosario and her conversation with Alonso sent to Dan and the Comandante.

Thanks 5 ft.

That was sad. At least his fingernails will finally get a chance to grow. (Dr. Carlos - I know that is not true, but what in a telenovela is?)

As foolish as I believe Cayetano is I feel bad that he will have to find out that Pablo isn't his DNA. I hope he turns out to be man enough to not do an about-face on how he feels about the boy.

If he ditches Rocio for Hissadora he will lose the respect of his sons, that much is certain.

Great recap, 5ft! Thanks.

I don't know....I'm a little worried about whatever Alonso's plan was to implicate pseudo mom. I can't think of one plan of his that didn't go wrong while he was alive. I feel bad he's gone, but he wasn't the coolest (meaning nerves) one out there when it came to implementing anything. Way too emotional. Given that real mom is probably where he inherited the nervous genes (as somebody previously said), I don't know how they'll pull whatever it is off!

Stepping in quickly on the cell phone ... I was struck by the back to back scenes of Jimena and young Isa. Scary how much they seemed to be alike. I almost got them confused for a pico second.

Thanks for the recap!!

Gracias Kat! Sorry you have to sing backstage, but hey, singing is singing. How glorious!

I really didn't believe Chayo would do the deed so quickly. Can't imagine what's up with that. And the envelope with land transaction documents still lies in plain view on the bedside table.

Boy does Leticia Calderon do a good job. She's already an attractive woman, but she positively glows when relishing her own evil-ness. Dion can't hold a candle to her.

And while I understand Luzma's pain and sorrow, sometimes I feel she's a bit too much of a princess for my sympathy. The way she "forgave" Irene (who was only trying to help & protect her in the first place) was a bit high-handed. Such noblesse oblige puts me off.

I wish Amanda hadn't tried so hard to shut up Natalia in front of Osvaldo. Nat may turn out to be a real gumshoe. Seems like she's on to something important. Maybe all that time watching TeleNovelas in Don (the devil) Dion's office paid off for our perky double agent.

—Agnes

Thanks, Kat for the great recap.

Poor Al. He never had a chance. I’m sorry that he had to die. I was hoping that he might not have to go to jail after all when every thing was revealed and that he could go away with his mother instead of dying (Flaco’s suggestion). He was beginning to do some soul searching even before the kidnapping and definitely while he was lying in his hospital bed, so I hope he did what he could to make up for things before having his mother kill him. If it was Isa in the same boat, she’d want to leave as much chaos behind that she could. Maybe Rosario will be the person who is Isa’s downfall—though Flaco thinks it will be Leo.

So glad that Luz asked Irene to be her bridesmaid and that she’s completely forgiven her.

Vivi—Rafa, Aaron, Aaron, Rafa—who do I choose? Who says you have to choose right now? You just got to the point where you got closure with Bruno.

And speaking of Vivi: when Flaco and I are discussing the TN/recap/comments and we talk about Vivi, we have to ask each other—which Vivi? The real one or the TN one.

That scene at the table with Auggie and Dan—how old is she?! 12 (not to insult 12 year olds).

And Dio laughing at Auggie. She knows. She knows she made a mistake deep down in her heart, but she’s never going to admit that she picked a loser for the second time.

Glad to Os survived his attack.

Kudos to Pablo for apologizing to this mother—who doesn’t deserve it.

I hope Pablo doesn’t find out about is parentage until after the wedding. I have this fear that this will be the one thing that Pablo won’t be able to rise above for awhile. Finding out the man you thought was your father isn’t, and the man who is your father is dead and you will never know him is a big one, two punch.

Netgirl: I noticed that before, how alike Xi and Isa was. Maybe one of the reasons Al was drawn to Xi.

From yesterday’s comments: Loriloo: “If CathyX gets Dan, I want Hipolito. I fell in love with him on CME...”—You’ll have to share him with me. Though my first true love is Jacinto from MEPS. And CME is my fav TN—so far, though this one is a very close second—so far.

Anita: Great minds. . .

Nanette

UA - I'm also curious to see how the shrapnel flies when Rocio's secret comes to life. Oddly, I'm most interested in Yago's reaction given his resentment of Pablo.

Are we assuming Natalia didn't try to get into that briefcase because it was locked. I can't remember if she did or didn't.

@Nanette: "And Dio laughing at Auggie. She knows. She knows she made a mistake deep down in her heart, but she’s never going to admit that she picked a loser for the second time."
I so agree. I wonder how long it will take. She's getting more and more defiant and defensive with every bit of new evidence, but she's really dug in here heels because of vanity & pride.
—Agnes

Net girl/Nanette - true DAT on the xi/isa similarities. They were like a mother/daughter duo that never was. It makes me remember when Xi first moved in w the Komodo's and she and Isa locked horns. They were like vipers fighting over their favorite puppet, Al.

I’m enjoying seeing Isa lead Cayatano to slaughter so to speak. I’m sure it’s flattering to this “over the hill, post menopausal male, married man” that he can attract a sweet young attractive woman. The problem is he has no clue that there’s a huge price tag attached to this “trophy”.

I agree with viewerville colleagues who sense that there’s an anvil hanging over Luz and Pablo’s wedding plans.

I usually don’t like Dio’s trademark cunning grin when he thinks he has out smarted someone. But his laugh at the thought that he could possibly be jealous of someone interested in Gussie was so real. I loved it and she deserved it!!

HellaShelle: I think that the young Isa and Xi also looked alot alike--another reason Al gravitated toward her.

Foxy: Only thing I'm rooting for re: Isa--knocking Rocio and Cayetano off their high horses.

No wedding?! I hope that doesn't happen. I can't think what that would do to Luz. She's already in such a bad situation and ina very fragile emotional (hormonal) state. It will not be pretty. We need something happy at this stage of the game. Writers, please let their wedding go through without a hitch.

And while I understand Luzma's pain and sorrow, sometimes I feel she's a bit too much of a princess for my sympathy. The way she "forgave" Irene (who was only trying to help & protect her in the first place) was a bit high-handed. Such noblesse oblige puts me off.

--------

Then she'll fit in fine with the Albarran family.

Nanette- LOL! You guys can always say Tall Vivi and Short Vivi, in addition to Telenovela Vivi and Real Vivi. :)

Agnes- I can see what you're saying about Luzma, but she's young. I'll cut her some slack. Plus, Irene was so happy and didn't seem offended that Luzma wasn't more apologetic about cutting her off in the first place. Not everyone can get a cute mea culpa apology like Cami gave the Scoobies.

Viv actually doesn't have a choice between Aaron and Rafa. Aaron never said he liked her more than a friend, and he's such a good brother that I don't think that even if he did like her, he would ever act on it. That would hurt Rafa too much and he wouldn't do that to him, especially after Rafa losing Camila to Dan.

I also don't think Pablo and Luzma will have a problem with their wedding this time. This TN isn't behaving like the usual ones.

I was wondering also about the time when Nat gave Dion back his briefcase and he looked in it to see if it still had all the things in it. Did she take a look too and maybe if those were passports, did she copy them? I would have thought that they would show her doing that if she did, but everyone's plans seem to be kept secret from us, so who knows.

Dion's laugh at Aggie was a little too loud and was very insulting. It wasn't the kind of laugh that one would do if you were just trying to imply, 'no I trust you so I'm not worried about it', kind if laugh. His was more a kind of laugh that said 'You are so undesirable that I have absolutely no worries that another man will steal you from me'. That would give me a frowny face like she had too.

Oops! In my last post I forgot to say thanks Kat for a terrific recap of a very emotional episode.
In fact, I’m still in disbelief that Rosario actually carried out Isa’s plan to inject the lethal potassium. Very poor judgment to say the least. Can’t wait to see what consequences of this mercy killing are in store for both Isa and Chayo.

Cathyx- That is exactly the message he was trying to convey with his dismissive laugh. But after the way Gussy had just treated Dan at the table, she kind of had it coming. Remember way back when Gussy used to like D'Andres? Poor Dan looked so nervous when she came to the table with her frowny, disapproving face. He looked like he would have jumped away from the table had Camila not held tight onto his hand.

Vivi, I knew when she learned that Cam and D'Andres had a relationship that all her goodwill and appreciation for him would disappear. Now that she has learned that he is Dan, she's still sour on him, and that's mostly because Dan accuses Dion of being a bad guy.

She also doesn't like him because he's Agatha's son (her rival), which Dan even pointed out to Cami.

@Vivi(real): "Not everyone can get a cute mea culpa apology like Cami gave the Scoobies." LOL!

About Dio's dismissive laugh, I was thinking it could be "What? that guy's such a putz! You think there's any comparison with moi?" But you guys are right, he puts our dizzy aggie down every chance he can get away with.
—Agnes

Vivi: Usually, once we've got it clear we're talking about TN Vivi, we'll switch to Viviana or Fernanda.

Thanks for the recap Kat. Sorry you all have to sing back stage but you do get to sing.

ITA w/all the comments about Gussy getting her comeuppance about Dan w/Dio laughing very derisively at her. She has just lost a child so you feel for her but then she acts so silly and haughty (a dangerous combination), you delight in her being taken down a peg.

Amanda needs to stop trying to do things via secrets. Nat is only speaking to her now b/c of Os.

I hope the wedding comes off and then poor Pablo learns about being Don Daniel's son. And Iago continues to be a idiot. How does complaining to Pablo about his being their father's favorite help their relationship? Loser.

I call Vivi in DC, Vivi, and Viviana in the TN, Viv.

Augustina is going to be in for some very bad stuff when she realizes she married The Devil.

As soon as the land ownership is resolved I hope Daniel kicks the both of them out.

I was really annoyed at Alonso being killed off so soon before he could talk to Becerra. Plus, I'll miss our boy in a jar. But if he left the ranch to his mother, and Chayo is his real mother, well then....Problem solved!

I know we're supposed to hate Dio, esp. when he makes fun of a grieving mother, but when he laughed heartily at Augustina, I laughed too. I appreciate his taking such joy in being evil. I envy his job satisfaction.

According to the internet, Silvia is 5'5" so not that short. She must be hanging out with very tall people.

5ft - Thanks. My favorites:

"Dumb. Ass."

"He looks less comfortable about going along with Ileana rubbing up against him, but I'm sure he'll get over it."

"Isadora plays the 'quadriplegic and going to jail' card..."

Nanette and all - ITA on Gussie. Poor thing has painted herself in a corner and now she's stuck.

Sorry to see Alonso go so soon. I thought he'd want to live just long enough to witness Hissadora go down. He must think he came up with a hell of a plan. I wish Chayo would talk to Camila.

I don't think Hissadora will sleep with Cayetano until after they’re married, if it happens, and then before it happens she'll bring out the potassium or whatever it takes. Now that he's coming around on Pablo marrying Luzma, I feel kind of sorry for him. But he is really dissing Rocio big time. To paraphrase 5ft, dude she is a pain but she’s your wife.

Poor Alonso! I cried my eyes out at the part where he died last night.

Who knows what lie Isadora will come up with when she is questioned by Juarez. I don't know if Camila will care much for Alonso's death like she did for Ximena (she was her sister).

I'm glad to see that Cayetano has had a change of heart about Pablo and Luzma. Rocio is a bitch like always, and she's getting on my last nerve.

I like calling Our Vivi "Our Vivi". Have there been any other tn Vivis?

I was also very surprised that Chayo killed All last night. I thought he might set it up to seem like he was going to talk soon and then have Chayo pull up of the plan, forcing Isa to try to do the deed herself. But bam I was barely finished thinking of that speculation and she was injecting him! This tn always keeps me surprised!

Yikes! I hadn't even considered that Rocio's secret could come out and halt the wedding. That would be ironic considering how badly she wants to stop it and that might be the only thing that the would.

Why would it have to? It has nothing to do with Pablo's feelings for Luzma, especially if he expects to be disinherited anyway.

Rocio's best option would be to confide in Mariano. He might be shocked at first but he has the most level head on that ranch.

Did Nat tell Yago that Dio is a bad guy? I hope she isn't so mad at her mom that she gets sucked in by this "no proof" thing and crosses over to the Dark Side. Cuz then Amanda telling her Dion's her dad would be more dangerous for Dan and Cam than anyone else.

UA - only BC its a big bombshell so I wouldn't be surprised if it distracted Pablo from his nuptials. Like if someone told him on the day of the boda, I wouldn't be surprised if the resulting shrapnel made him say "hold on, I can't do this right now"

HS: I was about to say the same thing re: the wedding. You beat me to it.

OK, just remembered this, but I noticed at the end of the ep when Isa walked into her bedroom that she was wearing slippers. For some reason I find that funny.

Nanette- Even the Devil's handmaiden wants to slip off those uncomfortable high heels once at home too.

It was a great read, 5ft. You gave us the scoop on all that was going on.

I think the best scene last night was at the breakfast table. I noticed that when Cam & Dan first were aware of Dio & Gussie approaching, they made it clearer than spring water they were *together,* with lots of handholding and talking close.

Gussie just doesn't get it. She's probably thinking back on her own three marriages--all so different (although she doesn't know HOW different this third one is...)--one as a means to stay close to Big Don Dan, one who offered her an end to loneliness only to find out he was swindler and finally, someone (whom she admits she knows little about) who finds her attractive as an older woman, but is now either verbally abusive or ignores her.

I'm finally getting interested in Cayetano other than a large white-haired bump on a log. He's certainly quick to come to Hissy's defense--as a dama. It's funny, he's just the reverse of Gussie, he's incredulous that a--I hesitate to say young here--younger attractive woman could be interested in him. (BTW--after so many days in the hospital, her eye make up still looked GOOD.)

SamathaJean--my comments were posted so late last night, just as 5ft was posting her recap, that in case you didn't see it, I also thanked you for the riff on all the names. I mentioned Hipolito--who doesn't come to a good end either in Greek mythology or as a Catholic saint. We hope it doesn't happen here!

HellaShelle--ITA on the chemistry between SN & CdF. Many of her little moves can be seen with her other pairings, but there is something REAL about their on-screen time here. They interact physically so comfortably with each other--hands, fingers, arms, legs, eyes. (I love watching them together.) I'm convinced they really like each other a lot, best friends, and not just acting like it. OT--oddly they didn't know each other personally before this tn--only heard about each other.

Thanks for another of your great recaps Kat.

Yikes! I really didn't think they'd kill off Alonso so quickly... I'm in shock.

And...poof...just like that, New Girl is dismissed?

Carlos

Anita - lol i thought they were talking close to minimize what Jekyll/Hyde and Gussie would hear and that Cami was trying to keep Dan from moving out of the head seat. I should give more credence to their broadcasting their relationship.

HS--Yes, they are now free to broadcast it--something both have wanted to do for some time now. I think they are even going to flaunt it a bit.

Anita, I think that they are basking in the freedom to be in love in public. I love how how he pulls her close, especially when there's troubling news. I also liked the way that their scene played out when she went to visit Alonso. He offered to go w/ her, she said 'no' and he didn't insist. He wasn't happy about it, but I thought that the scene captured love, protection, and trust.

Btw, I predict that Rodolfo and Ileana will fall in love by accident, shocking the boots off of both of them!

I don't think Rocio and Refugio are going to take that secret to the grave if they keep yelling it out like that in the open. Especially with Illy lurking around! Or maybe even innocent Ana, who just might ask her Dad or GrandDad "What secret is Grandma Rocio going to take to the grave?" LOL

Anon right above--Never thought of a listening post. If it happens your way, it's got to be Ana, by accident. If it's BratGirl, she will try to use it as blackmail.

Thanks for the recap! Loved all the dialog. It helps so much fill in some of the gaps for me.

I've warmed up to Pablo and Luzma. Originally I thought their young love angst was tiresome, but both characters have been given more depth. Their wedding has already been postponed once, right? So I hope we don’t have a repeat because that would be, uh, repetitive. I have noticed from comments on youtube that they have had plenty of fans in Viewerville from the beginning – fans who apparently are also young uns.

And maybe it is my age, but I am much more tolerant of both Rocio and Gussy than a lot of people seem to be. Rocio has been a selfish, controlling snob, but her motive has been to keep her secret to protect herself and those she loves. She is right to think that if her secret gets out, it would rip her family apart, and, from her point of view, she is trying to keep Pablo from making a huge mistake. What mother wouldn’t try to stop that? Much of her opposition to the marriage is due to fear that it will lead to her secret being revealed and she is frustrated that she can’t give her real reason for opposing it. I also think she has overestimated the danger of contact with Camila leading to the revelation of her secret. She would be much better off if she could relax about that and also be a bit more pragmatic, like her husband, and realize that she is risking losing her son forever. It is ironic that her family is being ripped apart by her attempts to keep that from happening. I do think she loves her family and I don’t see her as evil.

I mainly feel sorry for Gussy. She’s a fool and willfully blind, but she loves her daughters and is not a bad person. She just wants to be loved. Is that so wrong? :) I did not enjoy Dio laughing at her. He’s a jerk.

I was also shocked that Rosario killed Al so quickly. One day he wants to live, the next day he wants to die, why not wait for tomorrow and see how he feels? I hope they did more than we saw to make sure Isa gets what she deserves, but neither one of them exactly inspires confidence.

If we have to see Caye and Isa actually climb into bed together, I may need brain bleach to recover.

Carolina, ISTA with everything you said. I feel quite a bit of sympathy for both the old biddies. I am their age after all and things were different when they were growing up. They are both what you would call "decent" and "respectable" but too limited in scope and experience to bend with the trend.

And I really thought that Chayo would play along for a while anyway just to fool Isa that the deed would be done while Al got his act together to do some real damage. Not sure what to expect. Do you suppose anybody's even read the document on the bedside table.

I absolutely hate it when someone says "mañana" in a TN because it's a sure sign an anvil will fall before daybreak. Osvaldo said he would like to go see Alonso "tomorrow" to discuss the property transfer or whatever, but alas Chayo was too quick for us all.
—Agnes

I am with commenter Kelly that maybe Al's last big move was to get his real mom to claim the ranch. I hope she can stay safe from Isa. It was sweet to see her genuine maternal love for Al. It was good for him to get that even if it had to be right at the end.

TN4ever

Carolina: ". . . I may need brain bleach to recover. "--now THAT'S a visual.

TN4ever: Isn't this the saddest line ever?: "My life would have been so different with you, mama."

I think it's safe to say that Al planned something as revenge for Isadora. But his plan was also, after he got the ball rolling, for Rosario to euthanize him.

I think that if Rocio had just not done anything to thwart Pablo into marrying Luzma or Mariano from having a relationship with Camila, then her secret would have been safe. There is no reason for it to have ever come out. None of those relationships would have mixed blood relatives together. It's her interference that is calling attention to exactly what she doesn't want attention drawn to.

Nanette: Or a couple of gallons of tequila to ease the pain. ;)

I was so glad that Alonso acknowledged Chayo as his real mother before he died.

cathyx - yes, that's the irony. She'd be better off if she had just let things be. She's said that if Pablo and Camila hang out together a lot, they will see their family similarities, but really, who knows about that. Remember the big deal that was made about them having the same blood type.

When she tried to talk to Mariano about her opposition to her seeing Camila and mentioned that Ana was getting too attached, he said, yes, you're right. It's time I got going and asked Camila to marry me. It was the perfect comeback because it's exactly what she didn't want to happen.

I do think it's true in general, in real life, that parents who oppose a child's choice in partner often end up just driving them together.

I'm with you on the brain bleach.

Also on the whole thing of Rocio ripping her family apart by her actions. I'm still astonished that she would prefer Bratgirl as a nuera than Luzma. If she were to become ill would Bratgirl take care of her? No way, but Luzma would.

UA, I like that test for a daughter in law. Would she take care of me in my old age?

Bratgirl in the family? Ick, ick, ick.

Has Rocio even met Luzma? Other than the non-handshake the day of the feista at the MQ? I guess we can add crippling close-mindedness to the list of her faults.

HellaShelle: you asked a few comments back if Nat told Yago that Dio is a bad guy. Nat did tell Yago that she found out her "dad" was a bad guy but she still doesn't know that Dio is her dad.

So sad about Alons but I'm happy that he acknowledged Chayo as his mama. That scene brought me to tears.

Forgot to say thank you to 5ft for a great recap.

Absolutely loved: Dumb. Ass.

I wonder if Isa actually paid Chayo for doing her dirty work. I hope Chayo doesn't end up dead or in jail for it.

Question: So Al accused Izzy of trying to kill him, did he and Xi actually see that Izzy was driving the car that pushed theirs over the cliff? I missed that episode so I wouldn't remember.
--TF

TF- Yes. They turned around and saw Isa at the wheel of the SUV that pushed them over the cliff.

Thanks Vivi. I just wondering if they were actually able to see her clearly even if they wouldn't actually have said out loud "It's Isadora!"
--TF

I wonder if there is enough left of the car to examine it for dents in the rear bumper.

Hissadora would have to have gotten another car to do the dirty deed; could that car have belonged to El Diablo and she has set him up just in case?

Wow. All this murder and mayhem to build a "tourist development." Boggles the mind.

Sue455- All this murder and mayhem for lots of MONEY$$$$$$. That's been a motive for murder since the beginning of time.

And it's the second most popular villain motive in novelas.

What's the first, UA? Revenge?

Jealousy toward one's sister?

Not another cliffhanger! I think the top motive for murder in a TN is to keep someone from revealing the truth.
